Zettler Hardware in other cities:
There’s usually somebody to help you as soon as you walk in the door. However they never seem to have the part I need or it’s out of stock or they’ve misdiagnosed the part that I need and then it’s out of stock. So maybe the part I really needed was in stock before I left for a different hardware store. We will never know.
A friend of Mine and I went there but We Couldnt actually go in and shop.. You see Hes in a Wheelchair.. and Theyre store is Not Wheelchair Accessible.. They have No Wheelchair ramp.. Just Curb.. No way to wheel My friend up in. I thought it was a Law Somewhere that Every Store/Building Had to be Wheelchair Accessible.. I guess Not. So We left.... and went to Walmart.
I have shopped here before with varying success mainly because I like to support small business, and in this case a mom and pop hardware. I did not have that experience. While the floor worker did approach me when I walked in, he was not able to assist in any way, and barely qualified to work at a lemonade stand, let alone a hardware store. I needed a bolt and 3 nuts and had an example of the broken bolt that I needed. With his mask around his chin, the worker proceeded to look through the bolts in a completely non-sensical fashion showing me several examples of bolts that were nowhere near the diameter or length of the one I needed, and each time I indicated this, he basically shrugged it off and went back looking for more. After about the 5th selection (which again was nowhere near what I needed) I told him I would just look myself. I found what I needed after about 10 minutes, and went to the register. The register associate must have been new (we all start somewhere) because he didnt know how to ring up a nut or a bolt from the little plastic baggy where I had written the information. He was also chin masking it, but proceeded to touch his lip (this would be disgusting in a pre-COVID world, let alone now) and then my baggy to ring me up. I will give the floor associate credit for at least showing him how to do that. There was no hand sanitizer at the register, so I left a dollar bill, picked the bag up with my knuckles to dump out then contents, grabbed it and left.Look, I get it, small business, conservative politics, the virus isnt real, and even though I disagree with that, I still support small business. But if you want to actually stay in business then follow some health regulations.
This Zettlers store is a great place to find any hardware, tools, or gardening supplies. The prices are great, and the staff are knowledgeable.I would give this Zettlers store 5 stars, but the aisles are kind of tight. This makes it difficult (not impossible, but difficult) for my wheelchair-using wife to navigate through the store. I often leave her at home or in the car when I come to this store because of the tight aisles.
By far my favorite hardware store. While it may look small from the outside, they have a great selection. I always find what I need without getting lost going up and down aisles like I often do in other stores. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful about answering questions and recommending what tool or item would work best for all of my random projects!
I called asking if they carried a water solenoid for my fridge. They said they do. Drove about 30 minutes there and they did not even stock them. Said he thought I meant a shut off valve!? If I meant a shut off valve I would have said that. I like going to zettler stores because their employees are normally knowledgeable but definitely will never go back to this store.
Id be careful getting a key made here. I needed an extra chip key for an older honda, I got it made it here (it was $100) and it jammed the ignition which cost me $500 to fix. Still no extra working key and down 500 now..Ill go straight to the manufacture from now on when possible. However, other than this rather costly key issue, the store is great and I still utilize it.
I bought a replacement tub drain cover, and asked that the bent up original one be put into the bag with the new part. Get home and nope, not there. I tied the bag as I left the store so I KNOW it didnt fall out, no hole in bag. Called back to see if it was there and the denials began and ended with dont accuse my employees. And the new part doesnt fit, any way, so now I get to run this errand all over again, without the original part to match up to a replacement. A little kindness and well look for it would have gone a long, long way.
Good grief! One of my worst retail experiences ever. I recently bought a small sprinkler for $13.49 at the Kenny Road Zettler’s. Well, the sprinkler was defective. I used the sprinkler one time for about five minutes and it was obvious that it was defective. So I tried to return it. I had the receipt. The person at the counter couldn’t process the return so I had to wait around for the manager to saunter in from the back of the store. When he finally came in he was not friendly and not nice, questioning me like I was trying to pull off some kind of sprinkler return scam. I patiently gave him a very clear explanation of what the problem was; he finally seemed to accept that but then said he couldn’t process the return because I didn’t have “the original packaging.” Seriously? For quite a few years I’ve spent hundreds of dollars a year at this store. For $13.49 spent on a defective product they’re going to turn away a long time loyal customer? I’ve never had an experience like this anywhere else. I’ll never shop at a Zettler store again.
Large variety of items in stock for a local hardware. The staff has always been very helpful, saving me search time every time. One minor area for improvement - checking out with misc. bolts and screws has taken a while several times, with staff apologizing for the computers being slow. Fix this and its five stars!
Ive been going to Zettlers for about 10 years. Everytime I go there its for a couple things. Everytime I end up buying much more because I end up finding products you just dont see anywhere else. Staff is friendly and always willing to help you with anything you need. It might be smaller, but the quality of products is so much more.I highly recommend going in to appreciate what they have to offer! P.s (Best cleaning solutions in the city)👍👍
This place has the best selection in any hardware store Ive found (seriously, way better than any of the big box stores, especially for things like lamp sockets and electrical supplies). Plus the staff are incredibly helpful and knowledgable and the friendliest Ive found. Highly recommended!
Last Friday I purchased a tape measure which was the wrong size and the contractor said that they needed a larger one and purchased it themselves, I take the tape measure back with the package and I was told that I could get a gift receipt even though on the receipt it clearly states no purchases after 30 days and it had only been four days. It’s not the $10 that the tape measure cost but it’s the principle of their policy and not following it.
Please, please do yourself a favor and go to Zettler Hardware instead of H.D. - the staff is friendly, go out of their way to see if you need help, and ACTUALLY KNOW WHERE THINGS ARE! So, in my experience you can get what you need in half the time and way less headache, and their selection is just as good for household needs - theyve always had whatever I came in for.
Placed a special order a month ago... The original order was messed up, and never got placed. I understand mistakes happen sometimes. They assured me it would be taken care of and they would call when the order came in the following week... Still waiting.Called back 10 days ago requested a manager return my call still nothing. Worst customer service ever! So much for supporting a local store, guess Ill get my refund and go the big chain store.Frustrated!

2022-04-14What a Great Hardware Store!I needed some keys copied and I just did a Google Search for hardware stores near me and I count myself lucky to have found this place! They copied the keys quickly and then helped me with a short list of other hardware items I needed. And by help, I mean that Jim personally led me through the store as opposed to just pointing me in the direction of where he thought it might be like other hardware stores do these days.An since I walk with the aid of a cane, they even walked me to my car and loaded my purchases into my trunk!I am now their customer for life!

2021-06-23Helpful staff and great selection of tools/equipment you’d expect to find in a hardware store. Convenient location. Nice spot to pick up some stuff for a few weekend projects… happy to come here again.

2022-02-09My shopping expeditions to Zettler Hardware on Kenny Rd have invariably been fruitful. Knowledgeable and helpful service where I always find what I need, and sometimes am directed to better alternatives. My go- to for most hardware, garden maintenance, and helpful hints.

2021-08-30Its an old school hardware store that has a pretty good selection of stuff. The prices are running anywhere from 20% to 25% over what you would find at a box store. The pricing on hand tools , sockets, wrenches was very high.

2019-11-12This place is great. I only gave them a 4 star because they are land locked and kind of small for most modern hardware store. With that being said, they do a great job of hands on helping you find what ever you need.It has a little of the mom & pop shop to to it and that just adds to the character of the place. If you need to go to a hardware store, this is a great place to choose.
