I generally do not return to restaurants because subsequent visits are generally not as good as the first time. I could not have been more wrong about Yemeni Restaurant. We discovered this gem during our Columbus Eats food tour. We returned to Columbus to visit our freshman at Ohio State and both my teenagers requested we go to Yemeni. We had their most popular lamb dish, two wonderful dishes in a clay pot (lamb and one vegetable) and an incredible chicken dish, plus the fabulous bread. We were floored with how outstanding the food was, and so kind that we were able to be accommodated at 8pm during Ramadaan. Usually not a fan of lamb, these dishes were melt in your mouth delicious, great spice and interest to the food without being overpowering. And with two teenage sons, I was shocked at the affordability. My kids came to eat!My only regret - we forgot to get our photo taken (it was my older sons birthday.) Next time definitely. Cannot wait to go back - thank you!
Absolutely wonderful food. I tried this with Columbus food adventures trust fall. When it got to me it was all still hot. Clearly all made fresh (including the flatbread) with quality ingredients and all very tasty and well made. All of it great even down to the lamb broth soup they included
The best restaurant i’ve ben in state of ohio sometimes i travel for work, great customer service plus the food there is nothing i can’t describe this restaurant makes me come back more and more my number one of list if i could’ve given you guys more then five stars i would’ve done it but you guys definitely get five star i recommend this restaurant guys check it out best middle eastern taste
This is one of the kind of best restaurant i have ever seen. Their food quality are so great & tastefully. I am really appreciate their food. I am recommended everyone try to go to their restaurant. I think everyone will be happy with thier stuff behaviour too. Thier price are so good.
I got takeout and it was Very tasty!! seasoned so good and fresh. I got the chicken biryani and it was good and nice full portion. The owner had a smile and was very kind and friendly and gave me a free smoothie after I changed my mind about getting one when I saw the price lol. Will defiantly come back🥰
My friend and I love going to eat there. Rice is made perfectly, lamb is amazing. We have also eaten the chicken that was well seasoned and delicious. Also love the lamb stew they have, and the bread is always perfect!!It’s always a laid back quiet place where we can set and talk with out a lot of interruptions.Definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone!!!
Yemeni food is one of my favorite cuisines and this place always delivers! We love the beef ghalaba and lamb haneeth. The lamb haneeth is so good melts in your mouth. This time we got the grilled chicken was and it was full of flavor and so juicy. I would def give this place 10/10. Its family friendly and nice and quaint. Give it a try!
Not as good as it used to be! I had to come back and edit this review because their quality and quantity of food has gone down significantly. Additionally, the Lamb Haneeth now cost $5 more. Even service is terrible now! Had my food missing an item and they were out of tea, when I asked if they had anymore I hardly got any attention.
Yesterday I ordered food online and it said they have delivery option. It is almost Iftar time and I got a message that said they dont deliver any more and they dont have doordash. Everything should be apdated online. And also the associate tone was rude and loud when he answered my question. However I give five stars to the restaurant because the owner is professional and he Handel and fix the issue right away. By the way the food is very delicious. Thank you for everythin.
Great food and excellent service. The staff here are wonderful people and always make you feel welcome and at home. I usually order some version of a lamb dish, more often than not lamb haneeth. Well seasoned and fall off the bone tender, I highly recommend this establishment for any meal. You wont be disappointed!
His place has been a fresh discovery courtesy good reviews on Yelp!So first things first, the ambiance and decor of this place is quiet simple and homely. Moving on to the service it is quick and personalized. We were four of us and it was made sure that we get best of both the dishes. We tried Lamb Haneeth and Chicken Haneeth together served on some delicious rice probably peculiar to Yemeni cuisine. It was just mind blowing along with Fahsa(Lamb and vegetable stew) and tandoor naan. They served us complimentary lamb soup which was just as good as other things. The star ⭐️ of the evening was the dessert “Malaki”. It was made of bread crumbs, dates and fresh cream. I was full after eating so much but still could not get enough of it .So full points to this place and don’t forget to order the Lemon 🍋 drink there. It is something so refreshing and probably you might have never tasted it before. ✌🏽
We had an awesome experience here! Our server was extremely friendly and welcoming and taught us a lot about Yemeni food. The lamb haneeth was delicious, as was the tea. The food was also delivered very quickly and the atmosphere is relaxing. Definitely a hidden gem of Columbus!
We drove all the way from Cleveland for this restaurant... and it was SO worth the drive. You will not go wrong choosing this restaurant! The owner truly perfected this restaurant in every aspect, the food is amazing and so is the service!!! Give this place a try and you’ll keep coming back for more!!
Our server Muna was very helpful in describing the dishes and recommending things to order. The roasted chicken and lamb we ordered were so tender they fell off the bone. Everything, from the soup, to our main courses, to the tea we drank at the end of our meal, was delicious. The owner of the restaurant was very welcoming, and, overall, dining at Yemeni Restaurant was a great experience.
Delicious food. This was my first time coming to this restaurant and myself and a coworker were impressed. It started with a soup that was very flavorful and light. We then had a lamb stew dish that we ate with naan bread. So very good. Finally we shared a lamb and rice plate and the meat was cooked perfect and the flavor outstanding. This may not look like much on the outside, but inside the food is great and authentic and the staff very friendly. Would recommend to anyone and will return!
This restaurant looks small and inconspicuous from the outside but on the inside its anything but...You know youre getting the real deal when a restaurant puts more effort into the authenticity and flavor of their food rather than the aesthetics. We were served by Saeed who was excellent at his job, and was a pleasure to chat with. He recommended we try the Lamb Mandi and the Lamb Fahsah. We did not have to wait long for the food and it came out fresh and hot. The meat was extremely tender, and juicy, it was practically falling off the bone. The seasoning of the meat permeated down to the bone. We also tried the lemon mint juice which paired well with the meal. The naan that came with the food was perfect, and I wanted to buy more to take home.I definitely plan to return to this restaurant very soon and highly recommend this to everyone.
Ive never had food from Yemen before, and loving food from across the globe, we decided to try this place. Im so happy we did. Our waitress, who was born in Yemen, suggested the most authentic dishes, which is what we requested. Every single item was amazing. Great service, great food. We will definitely be back. Highly recommended. You wont be disappointed.
Listen I shop at the Yasmin market Ahmed works there and told me about the place because Im always purchasing fresh lamb to cook. So he wanted me to try the Lamb Haneeth here at the Yemeni restaurant. I order my lamb haneeth Friday 8.19.19 I was tired hungry and ready for a great meal. OMG OMG got home pured me a glass of wine and devoured the food. The food was ready and hot in less that 6 minutes tops. The young lady at the register was the sweetest I forget her name. Hershey (nick name) was very courteous and sweet I felt like an honored guess. But the food the food was perfectly cooked. The lamb tender and it melted in your mouth. The rice basimity Im sure I spelled it wrong is yimmy and light all the spice and sauce that came with it was just perfect.I WISHED I ordered 2 Lamb Haneeth for myself. On 8.10.19 I had to bring my sister back and we had the bread with shredded lamb and omg omg omg we dinned in this time ans was treated like sweet royalty a Queen if you will. You didnt have to wait.I know it is Ramadan season and very busy at night and they accommodate the hours to be able to sit down with family and enjoy an amazing environment, great service, great staff and genuine care when you dine in. I may never have to cook lamb again and i eat lamb way more than not. I will be a frequent customer and close friend of this establishment because they make me feel like family.GREAT JOB NASH (OWNER)HIZAM YUOSEPHERSHAM (HERSHEY)SWEET SISTER AT REGISTER (MY SIS NOW) sweet and amazing. No matter what others say negatively they are just miserable youre the best! And that I know first hand!
This was my first experience with Yemeni food. Our waiter was amazing and helped us select from the menu with traditional foods that would represent the culture perfectly. The meal started with the most amazing spice tea and soup followed by sizable portions of the main dish and the flat bread straight out of the tandoor. The flavors were perfect and the presentation was beautiful. I couldnt have asked for more on our maiden voyage and we will definitely return!P.S. I ordered the Lamb Claba. I highly recommend it!
Best Arab food you ever have in the United States so far. I’ve been traveling all around & Am Bahraini I know the food back home this is the best so far. Great service food my take little time 15min but worth it comes fresh. The lamb beraini will blow ur mind! With many other great dish’s. On the pic are lamb Briani & checkin briani with Yogurt/cucumber side 👌.
Delicious, we started with the lamb hummus and bread. It was so good we could have ate it all day. Instead we ordered the meal for 2. It was enough for the 5 of us, especially after the appetizers. It had goat, chicken, lamb and rice and of course more of the best fresh bread. Service was great.
A hidden gem well worth the drive from downtown. The food is phenomenal and our server was a character, such a great experience. The tandoori bread is top notch. Highly recommend any of the lamb dishes. My lamb Fahsa was just so good, others got the lamb biriani and. The bone broth to start and tea to finish are great as well. So glad I came.
Our first time experiencing Yemeni food and it was AMAZING. First of all, the food was incredible. Im not a huge fan of lamb, but I definitely recommend the lamb hummus as I could not stop eating it. The rice was spicy and great. The chicken literally fell off the bone - so juicy and flavorful! The free tea took me into a different dimension because I was blown away and even asked how I can purchase some to go. The service was extremely friendly, accomodating, and helpful as we navigated the menu and took his suggestions. He even added in a free bread for our first time. We are already planning our next visit and have told many friends!
I highly recommend this restaurant bc the food is excellent, the service friendly and efficient and the overall atmosphere enjoyable. We had the chicken Bryani and hummus-and we loved each bite. We will definitely be back so we can try all the dishes. And, the portion sizes are enormous so the price is good given that we had enough leftovers to make another meal. You should try this wonderful place!
It was so disappointing. We came for dinner. Its shows on google they are open till 11 but they are open till 10. 1st thing they need to correct this on google. We came at 9O clock.Service was very poor. Most of the things were finished. And waiter was not interested in serving at all because it was just 40 minutes left in his shift to be finish. Spend $50 for two people dinner but it was not worth it. They are expensive but no customer serving. When you come for dinner you have certain things in your mind, if you are good restaurant you should keep your supplies fulfill at all the times.Soup was finished. I asked for it.Waiter bring me vegitable gravy on the name of soup contains big potato in it and it was cold. There was no complimentary white onions and tomato with lamb haneenth.Asked for Shayee tea. Waiter says finish. Chicken , finish. Soup finish. Asked for salad he brought me salad which was made quickly , not good looking in first sight.Mango smoothie ordered. He brought in a plastic glass which they use over & over. It should be served in parcel glass. Plus mango smoothie needs to improve its taste too.
Definitely coming back here again! The waiters are very nice and check up on you a few times. I ordered the lamb biriyani, lamb haneeth, and Chicken fahsa and they were all amazing! The lamb was so tender and clean!!! The chicken fahsa came boiling hot with a huge freshly made naan, it really hit the spot. They also give you a warm bowl of lamb soup before your meal which is the perfect starter. Bottled water was also given instead of plain tap water which was great!
The meal was phenomenal! Wandered in to try something new and we were very satisfied. We talked to the owner about his recommendation and it turned out he was out of the lamb, but the owner made sure to provide a wonderful meal. Everything he brought out was delicious, from the lamb hummus, the fresh bread, and even the mint lemonade. It was all freshly made, and we cant wait to go back!
Sorry for the inconvenience I did not review the restaurant with one star at all one of my friend did for no reason. I actually love that place o drove 40 min sometimes to try their lamb it’s so delicious. And I apologize for wha happened. Yemeni restaurant the best in town for sure❤️👍🏻
We love this restaurant! Their cuisine is flavor packed without being over spiced! The staff is friendly and helpful. Our favorites include lamb or chicken fahsa which is stewed in a tomato sauce and served in a scorching hot stone pot with fresh grilled flatbread also Chicken haneeth(roasted chicken) served with rice and potato...as a chef myself I can be very critical but Yemeni is a restaurant that is a frequent go to!!
Ive eaten here many, many times, and I thank my Middle Eastern friends for introducing me to this wonderful place. Ive had the lamb and chicken many times, always fantastic. I dont know how they make the rice so light and fluffy. Well worth the trip, and a great value. Excellent food. I will have to dine in once just to meet the staff, as we usually always order carryout.
The food at this place is absolutely phenomenal, the flavors are unique and well balanced. The Tandoor oven compliments the meat and bread a great deal. This restaurant has the best lamb Ive ever tasted, everything was fresh and delicious. I would recommend this place to everyone. Ill definitely eat there again.
Our friends brought us here when we came to Ohio to visit. The food was absolutely perfect! Bone broth soup was perfect for the cold outside. Hot fresh bread and delicious hummus 😍 the chicken and lamb melts in your mouth. Lemon & mint drink was refreshing ❤ absolutely satisfied with the food and service. Great spot!
Got some take out from here recently. The food was very flavorful and the portions were pretty generous, I only wish they gsve me more potatoes with the lamb! Ill be back for sure. I didnt dine in, I got it to-go, but they are still offering a very limited amount of in-house dining.
My friend and I went to Sharon woods park; we thought we would try something new so we came to YAMENI RESTAURANT. The food is DELICIOUS, the waiter, and everyone are kind and friendly. It’s very affordable. I honestly recommend this restaurant to everyone who wants to try something new
The lamb hummus was absolutely delicious.Second time here, tried some chicken Mandi and lamb haneeth with biryani rice. The Lamb Haneeth was A+, unbelievably tender and great flavor. Biryani rice was also very good. The chicken Mandi was also flavorful, but not as tender and juicy as the lamb was. Cant wait to try more here.
I highly recommend this place. The food was incredible- very flavorful, the lamb was tender. The bread was so fresh and delicious. We ordered the lamb haneeth and chicken haneeth. The lamb was far better but the chicken was good as well. The employees were as kind as can be. We chatted a bit with someone who worked there and he was asking us how our food was and everything. The server took time to explain what some food items were and what was popular as we werent familiar with some of them. Prices are also very reasonable.
This is my first time ever rating a restaurant. It is deserved. Been there several times. The last time there was a large group of us but the staff did a super job of making us feel at home. The waiter, Saeed did a great job of explaining the menu and making so that we could try different dishes. We really liked everything but the humus and fahsah probably ranked as the first choice. We would have loved to try dessert but were simply to full. Amazing food+ great middle eastern hospitality = satisfaction. 👍🏽
One of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to our platter came with lamb haneeth that’s the most Popular dish on the menu meat Very tender falls of The bones u can taste the Flavour of the food and the season, service is excellent lemon with mint is so refreshing and don’t forget the tea
Don’t deserve a single star why! Bcaz I was using the restroom and I saw a mouse in the hallway and told the owner that there was a mouse and he told me that it’s in the bathroom area not in the kitchen but it’s the same thing and also the meat have that old meat smell Bcaz he don’t use fresh meat!
I was loyal customer never thought over charge but they were doing everytime then i was starting Asking the price that they were wrote on the menu but it wasn’t what they wrote on the menu it was more than Double Also nowadays when i Oder food they give me totally different And oilly food ??? i did not recommend You @All 👎🏾
Very friendly, casual place. Hands down the best lamb dishes Ive ever had. The portions are big and they give you soup so I recommend sharing with a friend and you probably will be taking some home with you too. Everything I have had there is very flavorful. I keep ordering the same dishes every time I go because they are so good.Lamb Fahsa (which comes with tandoori bread)Lamb Haneeth (which comes with rice and vegetables)Also they are on grub hub so its nice to get delivery!
A unique family run business with a fairly large variety of tasty food. Yemeni offers a mixture of both broadly Middle Eastern dishes and specifically Yemeni dishes. In my three visits here so far, my favorite has been the foul--a slow-cooked fava bean stew that is rich and flavorful and perfect to scoop up with their Khubz-Tawa bread (similar to naan). The fasolia and lamb fahsa are also delicious and combine well with one another for a shared family meal. Theres also a wide variety of lamb, chicken and fish entrees, cooked in various methods, with varying flavors and usually accompanied by rice or with veggies cooked into the sauce. The chicken kabsa and zorbian are particularly good. There is also delicious tea, which is unfortunately difficult to get in takeout orders and often runs out in the evening, but is worth ordering if you can. If not, the mango beverage offers a refreshing alternative.
Delicious food. The lamb fahsa blew my mind, it was just amazing. Served with the homemade bread, yum. The owner said he imports the pots they make things in directly from Yemen to make sure everything is authentic. Such a wonderful place with friendly people and a great atmosphere. Most importantly, the food is absolutely delicious!
The food was delicious but i do not like the crew that are working at the restaurant. The place isn’t clean at all even when you tell them to clean your table. During the circumstances that we are living now, they have to take care of the place and they have to sanitize each table after each customer.Very dirty place . i do not recommend it. There is a girl that is working at the restaurant and she is so rude.I saw a hair inside my dish and I couldn’t complete to eat.
I stopped in this afternoon having never tried Yemeni food nor having any real idea about it. I can honestly say that Ive never been treated so well by a restaurants staff in my life.I was greeted with a smile and told to sit where i pleased. seconds after I sat I received a menu and a bowl of soup. I told the waiter that I had no idea what I was doing. He shook my hand, said hed take care of me, and asked me a few questions. From there I sat back and enjoyed a delicious flavorful lamb based broth, then a taste of a vegetable soup as well. He brought me fresh warm bread, some rice, and an amazing lamb and vegetable dish. I was only able to eat about half of it-- the portions are more than generous. When I told the waiter that I was full, he brought me a doggie bag, more bread to put in it, tea, and dessert. My first Yemeni experience was perfect. Amazing flavors and well prepared dishes with the most hospitable staff around. I look forward to going back to try more of their offerings. Thanks, guys!
Just had lunch here. I’m an old white guy who’s been cooking Moroccan dishes exclusively for over a Couple of years and I must say the lamb Haneeth, bone broth soup and homemade flat breads were absolutely amazing, awesome and tea at the end was a great topper. The spice profile of the lamb did not overpower the taste of the lamb. Hidden find for my palette. The staff explained the menu options very well. Another food taste profile memory.
Great food and service! We went with a large party of about 10 with 6 being children under the age of 6 and the restaurant delivered in hospitality and great food. They have a Yemeni style private sitting room the owner offered us and the kids had a blast in there and the adults were able to relax. The food is great and made fresh to order, so either call ahead and place your order or expect a little wait while your food is made. Definitely recommend this place! Awesome food!
Ate lunch here on a quiet Saturday, and well definitely be back. Incredible food, particularly the sizzling shredded lamb, fresh bread, and soup that came as an appetizer. The young man who served our table was welcoming, polite, and a helpful guide to the menu. Very reasonable prices, we fed four adults and a child for $30. Its a treasure to find Yemeni food in Columbus, and hopefully this hidden gem will be packed next time were back!
Excellent customer service; this was my first time to try Yemeni food. I was warmly received by staff; my server Mr Hashim explained the menu to me and I settled for lamb haneeth; men this dish is delicious. Staff checked checked on customers find how they like the food, very homely environment.the place is exceptionally clean. The food is cheap. ... To Hashim and all staff thank you for your extraordinary customer service!.
Absolutely amazing restaurant. Not only is the food delicious, but if you dont have any experience with Yemeni food like me, they explain what everything is and then when the food arrives how best to eat it without you even having to ask. And besides that, everyone was extremely nice and fun to talk to. We were even given free tea after our meal! I will definitely be coming back as soon as I can.
Lamb/Chicken Haneeth served with rice & tomato-garlic sauce here is majestic & the owner takes care of his guests like family. You can chose to sit on the tables or the traditional way on the ground in a family section.Mutton broth soup is served before food which prepares you for the amazing food that is coming your way. Lamb Agda, Chicken Agda served with Yemeni bread are flawless. End your feast here with some spices heavy sweet black tea.
I used to live in Columbus and came here and it was wonderful. Now I came from another city to just eat here, huge disappointment. Fahsa is like a curry dish from india, very tiny portion at the bottom of the bowl. Haneeth was nice but overall, it wasnt what I loved 2 years ago. New owner?
We popped into this place while passing through Columbus and it turned out to be the best decision of the trip. The customer service is fantastic and the prices are good and the food, well the food was absolutely amazing. We had the Zorbian Lamb (spicy lamb and rice) and Chicken Agda (Chicken with carrots and potatoes) and they both came out in a few minutes. The presentation was pretty and the taste was delicious. The meat was was well seasoned and tender. The bread was soft and hot off the oven. We were treated to a mint green tea on the house at the end of our meal that ended our experience on a fresh note.I would recommend anyone passing by to give this place a try. Im sure youll have a great experience
Food wasnt that good. For the expensive price, you get little food. Place was dirty. The food does not taste fresh. I have been to other arabic/yemeni restaurants and this place was very bad. The waiter who served us thought he was funny, but he was just rude. Bad service.
Unreliable catering. Cancelled delivery and food last minute on a 300 dollar order. But usually good food. Bad attitude.Update to owner response:My review is on your business. Countries, backgrounds, and stereotypes have nothing to do with this. If you get a two-star review I would investigate what went wrong instead of choosing to personally attack your customers. I had a great memory in your restaurant interacting with your employees and eating your food (hence the two-star review and choosing you to cater to my big event). But my catering experience left me and many others disappointed (because you decided to cancel last minute). After this awful response, I would still keep the two stars for the sake of neutrality. I hope you are able to take this feedback from one foodie to a professional owner—and improve instead of taking things personally.
I and my friend ordered two different types food but they gave us the same food. I ask why the same? The young girl said look the same but this one we add little spicy 🐔🍗 when order tea with milk, she said we have to order more than 3 to get a teaaa!!! What I never hear such stupid thing. This is American not Yemen. You order, you pay what you get.
This place was fabulous! The atmosphere is very warm and the service is great. Our hostess/waitress was so helpful with going over the menu with us. Each dish sounded so delicious that it was hard to make a choice, but we tried 4 of their dishes this time. For our appetizer we tried the humus with lamb and Lamb fahsah, they were served with this beautiful tandoor naan. Surprisingly, the appetizers were filling enough to be a meal. We ended up packing up the dinner order to bring home. However, our lovely server insisted we try a few bites of the fresh dish befor packing it up, and boy am I glad that I did. Our Togo order ended up being our lamb Haneet with this fragrant rice and this spice grilled chicken with the same rice. My super picky kids also loved the food. Like seriously my son only eats 4 things and he kept asking gI am now hungry again and oh so happy that I have my food from earlier this evening.#nomnomnom
I wish I could give this restaurant a million stars. First of all, the food came really hot. Even the stew had been boiling for a few minutes after the “owner” brought us our food. Najam - the owner - told us that the bowl is clay bowl.Second, the lamb was so soft and extraordinarily tasty. It tasted like heaven!Third, the bread that came with the stew was baked fresh and hot.Fourth, the rice and the lamb was deliciously seasoned. The owner himself brought the rice and lamb after we were done with the stew. He was so friendly. Fifth, the meal size was huge, we took some home. After we were done with the meal, he offered us Yemeni tea which was so good too.Everything was great. The staff and the environment were also so friendly. We listened to some great Yemeni music too.I loved this restaurant. We would definitey come back and recommend to our friends.
Amazing food and employees are wonderful. Very friendly and generous with their portions and prices. All entrées are delicious and cooked to perfection. I drove 3 hours from Dearborn with my family and would do it again anytime! The owner is amazing and walks around constantly to ensure all customers are satisfied
The food tasted authentic however the 3 star rating is due to the following reasons:1) the dinner portions were small for the price of dinner portions. We got fahsah and lamb glaba and they were more like appetizers2) we also ordered lamb mendi but got lamb haneeth and the waiter tried to convince us they’re both the same dish even though they’re not.3) the prices on the bill were $2-$3 more than the printed menu and $3-$4 more than what’s listed on the online menu.4) the waiter didn’t write our order down and kept trying to memorize it even though he missed it up couple of times repeating our order which is probably what led to issue #2 above. We also had to ask for water 3 times before we got it.Given that we were visiting Columbus for the day we probably will not stop by on our next visit to Columbus.Overall the place is family friendly and the staff were nice.
Incredibly wonderful international cuisine at this local gem. The owners are very friendly, as well as their entire staff. Whenever I come in with a group, Hizam is very attentive and always delivers great service. Definitely try the Chicken mandi and haneeth. The rice is so flavorful, and the hummus is the smoothest and creamiest I have ever had!
Started with the savory broth of lamb soup with fresh squeezed lime. Ordered the lamb agada. The lamb was tender and cooked to perfection. The sauce was deliciously acidic and full of fresh tomato sauce and spices. The carrots and potatoes paired well with the richness of the lamb and bite of the sauce, creating a harmony of flavor.
Be careful they will cheat you of your money if you arent watching!! Also if you order take out check the food! When I reached home they had another rice and the meat was bare and not fresh at all!!! Overly priced. Small portions. And the women there are sneaky. Be very careful and do not let them rip you off!!! Dining in is best but dont feel obligated to leave a big tip. Actually dont tip at all. They overcharge anyways. They scam people right and left.
I can’t recommend this place enough. I’d wish I had known about it while I still went to Denison University because I would have definitely made the trip out there. They have a number of vegetarian options and I got the Foul along with some appetizers to share. They bring bread to the table throughout the meal and the staff is incredibly welcoming and kind. 12/10
The server explained to us that as first timers at the restaurant we should order the Lamb Fahsah and the Lamb Haneeth. He brought out the starter, which is lamb broth soup. It is very flavorful and loaded with spices. Has a kick to it as well. I would definitely order both of these dishes again. I also tried the lemon juice, which was so refreshing. It
The food is delicious, and the service attentive, friendly, and helpful. I am on a ketogenic diet and asked if I could just get a plate of meat. No problem! They brought me a plate piled with fall-of-the-bone roasted lamb and a bowl of lamb broth that was incredibly flavorful. My friend declared it the best lamb he had ever had. It is among the best Ive had as well. The owner, Nash, was kind enough to tell me how I could make the broth myself at home. I cant wait to come back and try everything I can eat here.
My wife, I and 1 year old daughter visited this place yesterday.OMG food was sooooo good and fresh.A complementary tea at the end was great.Don’t forget to order your lemon-Mint drink as it is too good. The atmosphere may not be perfect but this is not a high end restaurant. Please keep your expecting low as it is a cafe style place but ...their food is soooo good.My wife liked her Lamb Galaba and I like Lamb Zorbian. They are very updated with their menu price online but it’s ok.You won’t be disappointed for your quick dinner at Yemeni Cafe.
The food here is awesome and the people who work there are very nice. I brought my parents here for dinner one night and we had the opportunity to talk to the owner. He shared his experiences and overall had a charismatic and entrepreneurial spirit. The conversation warmed my mother up and she was super happy with the food afterwards. It’s really nice to see this place getting great reviews on Google and Yelp. The owner told me this place tends to be busier during late afternoons and late evenings. I’m not sure why, but if you go at noon or between 5 and 6 the place is pretty quiet and empty. For some places, an empty restaurant isn’t a great sign, however this isn’t the case for Yemeni Restaurant. The food is FANTASTIC.General Tips:1. There’s complimentary spiced tea near the counter. It’s great for an after-meal drink to help digest your meal.2. If you’re not familiar with the menu items, just ask the waiter for descriptions or have your phone handy to look them up because there are none on the menu. Or you could go with my philosophy and eat first then ask questions later.3. They do carry out.4. If you eat in, you can either pay at the counter or ask for a check.5. The food is spiced but not spicy (as in chili pepper spicy). Actually, the food might be spicy, but I wouldn’t know because I have a high heat tolerance. If you want your food hotter you can ask for their hot sauce. I think it’s called zhug. It has chile peppers and I think tomatoes, cilantro, garlic, and some other ingredients. It’s a fresh sauce that doesn’t have a very strong flavor on its own, but rather subtly enhances and adds some “brightness” to the food you add it to.

2022-03-13Authentic Halal, Mediterranean food portions could be enough for at least two people. Ordered take out on a Sunday afternoon a few of the options on the menu were not available. Advised if you are calling in your order to have more than one option. Otherwise this place will surely give you flavor, freshness that will have you going back for more!

2022-04-09Loved the place. First time in US having proper mandi and tasty one. You have option to sit on floor or on family table or individual. Person who is serving he will be to funny and helps you on order how much you will and how many can eat properly. Overall recommend place.

2022-05-09The server was extremely kind and accommodating and helped me identify what I could order on the menu that was vegan. I got to enjoy an absolutely heavenly potato stew (I think it was the Saltah?) that was unlike any I had ever tasted before. Savory and full of depth and aromatic spices. I would absolutely come back just for that!

2022-05-09The food is halal and very delicious. The service is beyond exceptional!! The owner is very very sweet. He stayed open late for us during Ramadan. One time he even delivered food to our home 20 mins away from the restaurant. This family friendly restaurant is a must try!!! You will miss out if you don’t try Yemeni restaurant in Columbus.

2022-02-17This place was fantastic. I loved everything I ate and so did my friend. We both really loved the hummus and curry soup. The chicken zorbian was very flavorful and the chicken fasa was fantastic. We had the masub banana for dessert, and it was super delicious. We really had a good experience with the food and the staff was super friendly and nice to two Yemeni newbies. Definitely recommend!

2021-11-13This place has amazing food. The meat is fall-off-the-bone and savory. Ive had the lamb haneeth and chicken zorbian and both were fantastic. The hummus is thicker than Im used to but still awesome. The best part of all is the huge tandoori bread. They are perfectly cooked, chewy and over 18 inches wide. Great for eating with hummus or any dish.Takeout was quick and easy. Just a 10-15 minute wait after calling it in.

2022-03-16Wondering about all the Google reviews! Some may be known by the restaurant owner! Went to this Yemeni restaurant based on Google reviews, honestly, were very disappointed . Food quality and the overall environment are below standard. The server took the wrong order and overcharged us. All together not a good experience. First and last visit period. Not recommended!!!

2022-01-25One of the best restaurant experiences Ive had in recent memory. The server was attentive and helpful in describing the dishes, the owner/operator gave personal attention to each table, ensuring every dish was at a high-standard. My girlfriend has not had many foreign cuisines and is very meat-and-potatoes, but she praised the food and ambiance as some of the best shes encountered as well.If this indicates how good an impression they left, we visited in October and I finally remembered to review (my first review). We would gladly make the 1.5 hour trip to return!

2021-07-08Such a wonderful place! Food was delicious and service was great. Very large portions. We ordered chicken Haneeth and Lamb Haneeth, they were both so tender, well seasoned, and just delicious. They also brought tea that was so flavorful. Thank you very much. We will visit again when we’re in town.
