I wish we could rate it a zero! Dog friendly and they have a pool. The staff are very rude and when you raise a concern they try to blame you. My dog was attacked by the maintenance mans dogs and we were blamed for the incident. The maintenance man lied about the incident and he wasn’t even a witness to his dogs attacking my dog. We hare not been targeted by the staff because we spoke out. Worst place we have ever lived! The property manager is a wolf in sheeps clothing. She will act nice to your face but will gossip and talk poorly about you. Don’t let her fool you! This place keeps on amazing me. Last week the property manager who knows I am a Veteran with PTSD was mocking me implying I am crazy. How can she mock a Veteran with PTSD? Also, my high school aged child recently moved in with me. The management team is harassing. Me saying my child needs to fill out an application and be put on the lease and if I don’t they are going to evict us. Since when does a child in high school have to be put on a lease? I have never seen a place so poorly managed before in my life. The last thing I will say is about this place. Yes, they have a pool. It is a nice amenity when it is working. The pool has been shut down by the health department in the past. It has also been broken down for other reasons and when it is open at times they don’t have a lifeguard to staff the pool so it does get shut down. Lastly, the property managers son is a life guard at the pool and he is a very rude and disrespectful person towards the residents.
My wife and I had lived here for 2 1/2 years. It was our first apt as a married couple and was decent....at best. We rented a 1 BR 1 Bath apt, and since we moved in our place had a MASSIVE condensation problem. (I wish this site had a photo upload feature to show you the AWFUL pictures). Because the building we lived in was WALL TO WALL cinder block, unless we ran a dehumidifier 24/7 water would collect on the ceilings and walls and then turn into mold. We became VERY concerned by this and called the office.... The woman we spoke to said to my wife that We need to open windows and run more fans to keep the humidity down. Well thats a great help. There is that, then, the air conditioner in our bedroom (in wall air conditioner) ALWAYS froze over. The Temp dial didnt really work and was always on max cold and if we left it running while we were gone (we lived on the top floor, so it was hot), when we returned it would always be frozen solid with white ice. Maintenance came out to fix it and the guy just took it apart and sat there and said yup this is an old unit and then put more coolant in it and called it a day. Then the worst. I got a promotion at work which required me to move to a new location. We were half way through our lease and had to break it. (My company didnt pay for moving expenses--thats a different story) but when we spoke with Mary (the manager) and went over the terms of breaking our lease she told us we needed to pay the remainder of the lease (up front of course) and that she would actively try and rent it out before our lease was up. If she were to be successful in renting it out we would get the difference back that we paid. While we were skeptical, we had no choice. Nearly 6 months later, our apartment still remains vacant. I called and spoke with Mary, confused as to why after all this time we still hadnt heard anything. All I got was a sob story on how Nobody is renting. To my wife and I it looks pretty obvious they were in no rush to rent out our place, they already got their money. For such a dumpy place and such a lack of motivation to help their tenants, this is why I would suggest going somewhere--ANYWHERE else but Woodside Terrace.
Its okay here. I only live here because they are very pet friendly but the grounds arent well kept. Things break all the time and there repaired poorly. I often just do the repairs myself. I had to shovel my neighbors out in the winter because they apparently dont clear side walks here. When I asked if why they dont do snow removal I was told, if we put down salt or shovel snow if some one falls we are responsible, but if we do nothing we dont assume any liability. I thought to myself wow these people cant be that ignorant. Finally a car was stolen from one of my neighbors and another had all his tools stolen from his car. To top it all off you should see the giant whole that leads to the parking area. I will be moving when my lease ends.
My son has lived at this apartment for 3+ years. After the initial lease he signed a 12-month lease extension each time. They do not offer month-to-month leases, so unless you dont mind being locked into a lease constantly you should look elsewhere. After three and a half years he wanted to move to transfer to the main Kent campus and when he inquired about breaking the lease he was told that there were no escape clauses and hed have to pay the balance. Since he has lived there 3+ years and has paid over $20K in rent during that time, we called corporate and they told us that he would have to pay the balance and that if he just left they would take him to small claims court and then to collections. I repeat, unless you want to constantly be locked into a lease, look elsewhere.
These homes are definitely not worth the money that I paid for them. The old floors creak with every step even on the first floor. The kitchen is tiny. The dishwasher doesn’t work properly and leaks. They warned me about what to put down the sink, but what they really meant is don’t use the sink disposal at all, it will undoubtedly clog up.The “back yard” is again tiny and I have to weed-eat and maintain it. The fence around the “yard” is dilapidated and the gate is crooked and doesn’t close after the first month I was there. The parking garage is located in the back and in order to get to it, I have leave through the sliding glass door in the living room. However, the sliding glass door has a terrible, cheap lock on it that can be easily picked. Fortunately, this sliding glass door does have a bracing bar on the inside, but it can only be put in place from the inside. In order to leave my house secured, I have to lock the sliding door from the inside, walk to the front of the house leaving through the front door, walk around the entire townhouse unit to the garage in the back. Finally and most importantly, do NOT violate their “grace period” on their rent. Their grace period is 5 days. I paid on time every month up to the 7th month when I was travelling and just forgot. I paid my rent on January 6th (just after traveling for Christmas break). When I remembered, I immediately called them and asked to have the $75 fee waived since it was my first offense. No such luck. No forgiveness from Woodside Terrace brokers. Thank you and please enjoy your rental experience elsewhere.
They don’t like to reply to emails when you have issues, people living here are rude and parking sucks, Jeanean is not the nicest whenever you have a complaint about something wrong with the place that you think needs fixed, she rarely listens to you and gets it fixed, can’t wait to move out of here, hopefully I can save enough to move out before I end up suing them because I got hurt throwing away my trash because of the massive pot holes by the dumpsters, I’ve tripped in them multiple times and already told them to patch it before there is a lawsuit and nothing happened, if nothing happens by the end of the month, they will have legal problems.
Disgusting is a great word for this place. Dirty, nasty, and disrespectful people. Unless you are desperate don’t come here. Listen to these reviews. I didn’t. And I’m sorry for anyone that lives here. Good luck! We had way too many issues. Like a meth addict underneath us and police coming to them. People don’t pick up after their dogs. And water is constantly backing up and appliances breaking. It takes a while for them to come and do a quick fix for things to break again.
First of all, we have been here in this apartment for the past 4 years. They just changed the person working on the office recently. These people working here are so disrespectful. Today they did pool party for all people living here which we accidentally know about, and the lady responsible for party was giving water for every body except us.
Not bad .. if you like lies.Rent is 600Plus gas.. you dont have a metter for your self there is one for your building you all split it.Rent goes up 2% every yearI live on the ground floor people pep threw the back windows when walking there dogs.... told the office said they would put up sings nothing done...Since I moved in 8 things broke its bad....
Spent some time both around the complex and in the apartments while visiting a friend. Facilities and apartment fronts are a big run down, but the community is in a great location, close enough to highways and business to meet all of your shopping needs but at the same time set far enough apart to remain a quiet refuge in the middle of Akron/Canton.
Horrible place. The management does not care about you or your needs. All they want is there rent and my fence blew over and it’s been 3 days no one has come down to even look at it. Plus not to mention mold on the walls below windows. Plus many other things. Can’t wait to move when lease is up. A place I’ve lived at has never made me cry before but this place takes the cake. Please do not live here.

2022-01-27Worst ever... they have no Designated parking not even designated lots for people to park in. You have to deal with everyone parking in the corner lot to be closer to their area. Forcing the people that actually live there to have to walk 2 blocks to get to their side of apartment / townhouse as you can see in this picture Im at the building at the far end of where Im taking this picture from in negative 6゚ weather. The office wont do anything about it but give you attitude when you call about things. I pay $800 a month for what to have no parking and be disrespected?

2020-08-29For the apartments themselves: Great place to live if you like bugs. Patios infested with spiders, and we had to spray for ants regularly living there. The patio units have “new paint” in the kitchen but itisn’t properly sealed, so the paint peels horribly from just opening and closing cabinet doors. The baseboard heating is ridiculously expensive— expect upwards of $200 a month in electric bills living here. When we called the office to ask if that was the norm, they simply said they didn’t know. The air conditioners in the summer are LOUD. We enjoyed the spacious apartment, but that’s not enough to give a single extra star because...We had to end our lease early and our lease termination fee was misrepresented by the property manager, Diana, on multiple occasions, presumably so corporate could then send a bill for 3x as much as originally stated. Corporate said we were lying and were condescending and rude when confronted with the facts. I would say to make sure you read the fine print on anything you sign, but they’ll charge you what they want anyway.

2020-07-29I’ve lived here for a year at the single level apartments. I loved living there, it’s in a great area and was really spacious. It had a huge fenced in back patio, which was perfect for our dog and cooking out. We recently just transferred to a three bedroom townhome because we are expecting a baby next month, and wanted some more space. The back patio of the new place is even bigger then the old place, and it looks AMAZING inside! Diana the Property Manager showed me a few different places when we were looking to transfer, and she was so helpful. I’m a pretty picky person about where I live and the condition of everything, and she really made sure it was absolutely perfect for me! She kept me updated almost daily about the new place because it was being remodeled before we moved in, which I really appreciated. Moving at 8 months pregnant is so stressful, even if it is just down the road.... but she made it as easy as possible! The pool is huge and always really clean, there’s a dog run that my dog loves to go in, and the area that Woodside owns is absolutely huge and is perfecting for going on walks with your dog, it feels very safe. Another huge perk is both places I have lived in owned by them, I NEVER hear my neighbors. I swear the walls are sound proof! The townhomes feel like houses, they are huge. We have had a few friends visit since moving and they can’t believe how big it is either. We won’t be moving out till we are ready to buy a house in a few years. Thank you again!

2019-09-26This is by far the best apartment I have ever rented. The staff is very nice, efficient, and caring. Its close enough to highways and shopping but tucked into a nice green corner so its quiet. Maintenance are all friendly, quick to respond, and expertised. Very pet friendly with a great pool and laundry on site. Neighbors are kind and quiet. No ambient noises so i never hear my neighbors through the walls. The landscaping is beautiful and kept up with. I feel very safe here as its community is overall kind and helpful. Ive been here three years and have no plans on moving. Price is reasonable for the area. You will be hard pressed to find anything as convenient, comfortable, and caring as this complex in canton.

2020-12-18I am leaving a mild review here.I have lived with this leasing company for a 1 bedroom and a 2 bedroom. The apartments themselves are good condition. And appliances are up to date.In my current apartment though. There isnt enough parking availability for the current status of living residents. When I work late nights and come home to no available parking without towing reprocussion at my expense. Land management told me its basically not their problem that there isnt sufficient parking. First come first serve basis. Will probably move after this lease. 860$ a month and cant garuntee parking at my apartment. Ridiculous!

2021-02-05This is the most unprofessional company that I have ever dealt with. In person and on the phone. I called in to the leasing office due to a bug infestation in the apartment and I was hung up on by the secretary Jeannine, not only once but TWO times. Jeannine is extremely rude and unprofessional, and refused to leave a message for the office manager about the bugs. After explaining to the leasing department that there are fleas in the apartment, they said “it is no emergency and we will let the office know in the morning”. I was not contacted by the office until noon the next day about the fleas. The people who work for this company do not care about anything other and a check or anyone who lives in their apartments. DO NOT RENT HERE. UNPROFESSIONAL AND VERY RUDE. BEWARE OF LEASING OFFICE.

2021-09-14Renter Beware: make sure to triple check that you understand every single sentence of your lease and if you happen to have rodents attempt to crawl in through the plaster in the ceiling be ready for it to be several weeks before it is fixed.

2017-09-20I would rate this place with ZERO freaking stars!! Dont go here!!! Mary acts like this sweet person when giving you a tour. Once you sign a lease however, beware of the DEVIL. She has been so unhelpful. We have gone to complain about other people smoking in their apartments and in the building! When we signed a lease it says its smoke free! Also the hot water wasnt working, doors dont shut all the way unless you slam them, it smells like cat piss even when they put new carpet in. The towel racks and toilet paper holders are coming out of the walls. DO NOT MOVE HERE!!! Its a sham. I thought the place was beautiful at first. Now Im regretting EVERYTHING! Dont let their sales pitches pull you in like we did! They are terrible people. Ive already notified many people who thought about moving here and they went to somewhere else. Wish I could get out of this lease.

2017-09-17This is a great place to live, friendly community, and awesome updated apartments, the property manager is so sweet, and despite the size of the place, she keeps up with ALL service and maintenance calls within twenty four hours there will be one of the friendly maintenance staff members there to help in my experience. The pool, clubhouse and office is clean and beautiful, BUT some places residence dont pick up their dogs poop. Such a shame because the whole property is otherwise so beautifully maintained!

2017-05-31Coming close to the end of my first year living here. Allowing my 80 lbs dog was a big plus for me. The area is very nice and quiet. I live on a bottom level 2 bedroom. I dont recommend it at all. Alot of bugs and mildew grow on our bedroom walls under the window. Maintenance could be better. In the winter our furnance was out for almost 2 weeks. Had to use electric heaters. Currently have a huge water problem on walls that is making it smell really bad like old wet laundry(will post picture). Maintenance was supposed to be here 5 hrs ago and still no sign. Switiching to the 1 bedroom patio unit when lease is up. I recommended a friend of mine to live here and when she moved in was supposed to get money off my rent. Never happened. Overall I do like the area.
