This was our first escape room and we had an awesome time! The staff was very friendly and helpful, offering clues to us beginners but not giving away the riddle. We took our seven year old grandson and he was able to locate and solve many of the puzzles. I highly recommend this place to younger folks and less experienced people. Or to anyone who enjoys escape rooms.
I took my daughter and 4 of her friends to Wisecracks to celebrate her 12th birthday. They had a blast figuring out the clues and rummaging through the many boxes and toys. It was challenging and fun, and thanks to a few hints, the kids were able to solve the puzzle! Great family fun!
I recently got the opportunity to try out Wisecracks Comedy Escape Room in a virtual capacity and it was awesome! I wasnt sure how an escape room could be done virtually but this experience was absolutely exciting. I got so engulfed in the game, and the clues and the experience time just flew right by. The clues were engaging and really got you thinking and the human avatar was great. He did everything that we told him too. This was an amazing experience that I would gladly do again. I cant wait to try one of their escape rooms in person. But if the rona has you worried I highly recommend trying their virtual escape room. its a fun bit of time from the comfort of your own home. You wont be disappointed, I know I wasnt. I had a blast!
I had never done an escape room before and have never been much for puzzles, but I was curious enough to check it out. It was very enjoyable. Challenging without being overwhelming and layer upon layer of clever puns and jokes. The design and layout was very well crafted. Between that and our guide, it was a great experience. Highly recommend.
What a lovely experience. I took my wife here on our first date out of the house since COVID and we had a great time. While not your traditional escape room, it was still challenging and fun, and had the added element of comedy. I could easily see this as the perfect introduction to escape rooms if this is something you havent tried before.
Giving 3 stars for the kind lady on the phone but the other reviews didn’t mention the old/creepy toys that can freak out kids that are easily scared. We chose this place because it was the only semi local place that offered an escape from for kids. We didn’t even make it 3 steps in before my 6 year old twin girls were literally running for the door and crying to leave. It has a very distinct smell from all the old toys that was unpleasant and the vintage toys seemed like something from a scary movie. With that said, the lady on the phone (when I called to let her know my kids were creeped out) offered to turn around the scary clown picture. She made some other local suggestions which we opted not to do since it was a cat cafe- my husband is allergic- and a troll museum. They were so freaked out by the old toys that we didn’t think they would want to visit a troll museum either. Two hour round trip for us from Youngstown so I was disappointed that this wasn’t what we were expecting.
Visited the escape room as part of a group of 4. Our hostess was wonderful and the venue was unique. The story and puzzles were well thought out and very fun. Some of the puzzles were quite tricky so we had to ask for a few clues but we ended up solving the mystery. Really liked the vintage equipment that was incorporated into the game. Will go back to see the other rooms once they’re completed.
I did the Jack-in-the-Box escape room. It was all virtual and it was my first time doing an escape room, and it was a fun experience. I wondered how well it would work in a virtual format, but our avatar did a good job of showing us around the room via the camera, and they posted photos of items with small details in our Inventory System so we could see them better. Our avatar was great at explaining things, was very responsive when we asked him to do things, and did a good job encouraging us escape room newbies and offering suggestions if we felt stuck. It was also fun to see all the retro toys in this escape room (Teen Mutant Ninja Turtles, Furby, etc.). Highly recommend.
Having an escape room in town is awesome!! We had a BLAST. I enjoyed that we were able to do this escape room with just the 2 of us. We had a good time digging into the clues and unwinding the story. We genuinely enjoyed our night, and will tell EVERYONE to try it out! I cant wait for them to open the 2nd room!
We went through the Jack in the Box room virtually, and had a really good time. The guide who was our virtual eyes and hands through the room was great, helping us to understand what was what and giving us just the right amount of hints when we needed it to keep moving. Our kids got several of the puzzles before we did, and there are even more puns and small jokes throughout than I expected.
Ive done several escape rooms in the past and this one ranks pretty high in my book. I loved the storyline and the costumes. It really felt like I was immersed in the storyline trying to solve a mystery. The room is decorated to feel like you are in an old laundry cleaners. We made sure to ask for clues throughout the duration and I felt like the clues really helped us when we were stuck. I really liked the comedy element to the escape room -- it made it even more fun. The mystery to solve was definitely a challenge but it wasnt so hard that I wanted to give up. My team was able to solve the mystery before the hour was up. My only complaint might be that its a pretty small room. I went with a group of 4 but Im not sure if it can fit more than a group of 6 people.
WHAT A GREAT TIME ! MY FAMILY AND I DID THE ESCAPE ROOM !The room was an actual laundry room complete with the vintage equipment in working order ( minus the steam). Lots of laughing as the clues were smelly and silly. It took a team to figure out the steps to find the answers to the game. We would do it again for sure.
The troll hole was a wonderful place to spend an afternoon. It was such a joy to see all the trolls, older trolls, old world trolls, new trolls, and to learn the history of them also. the atmosphere was fantastic, the people there are a pure joy. Go and see the Troll Hole you will be truly in awe!!!

2022-01-27This experience was amazing. I’ve done many escape rooms before from small to big ones even in Chicago, but this was easily one of my favorites. Doing the jack in the box escape room had many intricate and well thought connections that made it interesting. A great challenge and our host was wonderful as well. I went with my girlfriend for her birthday and she loved it. I highly recommend for anyone of thinking age who lives or visits alliance.

2022-01-03My Girlfriend surprised me with a trip to Wisecracks on New Years Eve & we had a great time! The host was both friendly and helpful, her dogs were pretty cool as well. Looking forward to returning so we can try the other challenge. Recommend that everyone check it out

2022-04-30Small, local escape room. Many of the locks have to be done in order so not good for a large group. 1980s atmosphere and decor. Our guide was energetic and helpful, at times even when we did not wish to be helped. The guide stays in the room the entire time. Comedy is puns and irony. Very family friendly and simple to solve. Great for families with 7-12 year old children who dont mind quirky humor and outdated surroundings.

2022-05-29Had a wonderful time at Wisecracks! They may be a small boutique escape room but the production quality is fantastic and the puzzles really interesting! Special shout out to Jake for being an awesome game master! Would highly recommend this place to newbies and escape room enthusiasts alike.

2021-11-27Bizarre and hilarious escape room. The Laundering Money game is very unique and interactive, having to unlock and operate antique laundry equipment to solve puzzles and win the game. The Jack-in-the-Box room is filled with vintage toys and very kid-friendly. I recommend this to anyone who may be new to escape room games or parents who want to do something different and fun with their kids.

2021-11-26We had a great time with the whole family! The game master helped us along and made sure we all had a pleasant experience. This was our first escape room together and it was even better than expected! (Bonus: the game master had 2 dogs we got to pet)

2021-08-22We took two 10 years olds here and it was their first escape room. They had an absolute blast! The room flowed really well, there were tons of puzzles to solve, the theme was a great concept, and it was a good challenge without having puzzles that were overly complicated. Will definitely go back for their second room!

2021-10-06I have to say this was the weirdest (in an unpleasant way) escape room experience I’ve ever had. We brought a group of friends for their first escape room experience and the best thing I can say is we walked away with memories. The ideas were interesting but whenever you need the owner in the room to direct you in order to solve the puzzles, the room needs some work still. We liked the antiques throughout the room, but the used undergarments you had to interact with was definitely a detractor.I feel like I should have suspected something when I found out that it was also a troll museum. In the end, it was just a very weird, uncomfortable experience.

2021-08-06My family and I had decided to do an escape room while we were traveling to meet some family. We stopped at Wisecracks and decided to do the laundry room escape room. We were able to win and escape with 3 minutes left!!! I definitely recommend this fun and good thinking escape room. It’s a good challenge and we couldn’t have done it without the tips and clues and help from David!
