Wingate by Wyndham Dayton - Fairborn in other cities:
Positive: The location was good. It¿s close to several restaurants and the interstate. Negative: We had a bedbug in our bed. We took a picture and video and a wonderful young lady at the front desk apologized and gave us a different room. However, the thermostat in that room was broken and we could not change it. We had to get our room changed again.
Positive: It met all expectations. Staff was nice enough, room was clean enough, amenities were good enough. Negative: I didnt necessarily dislike anything. If being picky then Id say that the breakfast wasnt as good as some other places and the pool was very small and simple with no hot tub.
They canceled my stay before I got there which was booked 3 months in advanced I had to settle for another room more money, we were there for a convention so all hotels were booked.NO BLANKETSSSS I had to ask for one.. I was told to come and get one , the front entrance trash was overflowing . My key didnt work to get into the pool. The receptionist was on her phone the whole time.. very dirty very unpleasant to stay..
Room, bed, bathroom are ok and clean.Breakfast service way to much laid back, when asking to refill the machine for the waffle dough i dont know that after 20min someone starts refilling it, and toaster didnt work as it should beThat time i was done, took breakfast at a petrol station.
Just ok. Was under the impression the pool and hot tub was in service because it was listed on the website! However, upon arrival, we were told that it was closed due to Covid. Absolutely unacceptable! It’s there way of not having to go through the efforts of properly maintaining a feature that is generally offered and advertised! We would not have stayed here had we known in advance. We were blindsided. Had been looking forward to unwinding poolside and then told we couldn’t. While other hotels in the area, very near by, are still offering these amenities. Not pleased
Positive: The staff Friday evening was very helpful. The room did not have any type of USB ports for phone charging, which is pretty common these days. But the front desk staff had a charger he let me borrow. Negative: The pool was out of order. That was not advertised. The hotel in general needs updated. It was clean enough, just outdated. A USB port to charge a phone is pretty common, but this hotel did not have them. The TV was small and there was not a guide.
I reserved a king suite for my family and it was a disaster. Had to request a new room upon arrival because it was filthy and the light switch was sparking, i have kids with me. Second room was also filthy. All the furniture is stained and out dated. The carpets have holes. The jet tubs havent been deep cleaned in ages. I was also charged an extra $130 and they cant explain to me why. I would not pay to stay here again if my life depended on it. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS DUMP. If i could give this negative stars i absolutely will. I have been in plenty of cheap motels that were better than this. 11/2021
The hotel room was pretty decent. We walked in and there was a distinct smell. Not super impressed by that..... But the staff is knowledgeable but not always at the desk. We got there, but no one was at the desk. We waited for close to 10 minutes before someone appeared from somewhere in the back... Even calling and yelling for someone didnt help. The food was really good, although really lacked in variety
Just passing thru for one night. I had to call because there was no hot water. I was told to run the sink and tub until the water got hot. So after a half tub of water because the tub drained so slow the water was hot. You then needed to wait till the tub drained to take a shower. The room had a old chair that was not very comfortable and an old dining chair. There was no where for 2 people to sit comfortably and watch TV or read. Maybe Im asking to much from a hotel that can charge 100.00 a night. They did have a hot breakfast of waffles bagels and muffins. I guess it depends on what area you stay in and how popular the area. I still like Wingate by Wyndham hotels
Nice, clean hotel, pool area was nice. Pillows were awesome! The only reason I didnt give them a 5 is because there was one desk clerk that was not friendly at all. Never smiled even once. Breakfast was so-so because this was the first week it had opened up since last year. They have make your own waffles. Always a favorite with the kids. We would definitely stay again.
For the price, the rooms are outdated and the place is grimy. The elevator was gross. My room bathroom not too clean and the shower curtain old and tattered at the bottom... No blanket on bed just two sheets. The pool was freezing and way too cold to use in the middle of summer. The breakfast had no protein options or fresh fruit options. Theyve gone downhill. Ill never stay at a Wyndham again!
Nice looking hotel, everything was clean. No bugs or negative signs. The reason I am only giving it 3 stars is the mattress wasnt the most comfortable, the blanket wasnt much of a blanket and the air conditioner wasnt adjustable.. more likely broken. Id stay again, just wasnt top notch
Overall the hotel was clean smelled good and the pool was nice but I did have issues with the room, first the curtains werent made to close so the light that lit up the parking lot was RIGHT BY the window so the room was bright all night! The sheets are reused because there were stains that in no way had been washed at all and the shower pooled up when you used it so you definitely had to wash your feet once you got OUT the shower, overall not a bad place but there is room for improvement
The hotel was a good value. The room was clean and very nice. The pool was great! A shout out to Danielle our housekeeper, she went above and beyond! Unfortunately, we werent able to get HOT WATER at any point during our stay. The front desk was unresponsive to the issue!
Positive: Nice size, clean room. Negative: Hotel staff was less than friendly. When I walked in, one employe was laying on the floor. The other was wearing earbuds. The person remained on the floor. The person checking me in kept listening to music. Rude at best. Very poor customer service.
Positive: Convenient location, Nice pool area and relatively clean, comfy rooms with heavenly pillows!! Negative: The rooms on the the main road side were a bit noisy from the traffic. Some of the staff werent as friendly as they could have been. I found an old half eaten sub stuck in the back of the refrigerator.
Clean and air quality in room was good. Quiet and comfortable. Easy access to restaurants and stores. Close to a University, nice safe area. The Wingate in Columbia, MO had a wonderful hot breakfast with an attendant dishing up eggs, sausage and biscuits. This one had coffee, banana and sweet muffin. Huge difference. Beds here were very firm, if you like that I do not.
Stayed for five nights, and arrived into a very clean room; it was cleaned every single day as it should be. The reason why I am leaving a five-star review today is what they did for me. I had left a magnifying mirror that sticks to the mirror in the bathroom the day that I checked out; I immediately called the hotel and they did their best to locate and retrieve it for me. All I had to do was e-mail them a pre-paid label at my expense so they can ship it back to me (I used Priority Mail via USPS). Well, the mirror arrived today and they shipped it in a sturdy box with ample cushioning since after all, it was a fragile object. Whenever Im in Fairborn, OH again I will definitely consider Wingate again!
Positive: I like staying here the staff is usually friendly the food is so so and the rooms are great Negative: I didn¿t like that we had to stay in top floor. Their was a few other people staying there also who liked their doors open blaring music all evening and nothing was done about mostly b cuz no one answered when calling front desk so being in first level
Wasnt in the room 10 minutes and my girlfriend found a bed bug. They did change our room which was good but waited for us to leave before having the nerve to message us and tell us we were mistaken. Even if it wasnt a bed bug, any insects inside of a hotel room is unsanitary
The hotel is kind of grimy and the rooms are dated. Musky/Moldy odor as soon as we opened our room door. Our shoes were sticking to the tile in the main lobby where we also saw a roach. TV remote was so disgusting that we tried not to touch it. The free breakfast does not have any protein options. You can get a bagel or make yourself a waffle.
Positive: The front desk staff was helpful Negative: Really disappointed. Our first room seemed ok until we opened the bed. The sheets were dirty. The second room we refused because it smelled like rancid diapers. The third room we just stayed in even though it smelled very musty.
The air conditioner sounds like a prop plane flying in our room. Called the front desk and they said try turning it off and back on. Didn’t help. It’s roasting hot and no help. The dead bolt won’t lock and the man came up to look and said no one is here to do anything about it so I will have to complain in the morning. Are you kidding me? So, I have to try and sleep with this horrible loud clanky buzzing a/c and had to barricade the door with the desk chair and coffee table. Hope there’s not a fire. Ought to sleep great!!! Can’t wait to spend hours driving with no sleep tomorrow!
We made advanced reservations for our 3 night stay, however we were placed in a very undesirable room next to the stairway and sharing a wall with guest laundry (seems like this should be the last room you book out?!). all day and night we get to hear the stairway door slamming. room is mediocrely cleaned, not sure what all of these folks are talking about 5/5 for clean... absolutely NOT. hairs in the shower, on our towels and in the bathroom floor when we arrived. stained chairs (we won’t sit i them they look so nasty) and ripped carpet. most furniture is very worn. cannot use dresser drawers or nightstand drawers as they are full of nasty debris (can they not vacuum and wipe this down?) bed was decent and tv had lots of channels. front desk staff lacks basic customer service skills. breakfast consists of a piece of fruit and a muffin. our room looked nothing like those posted by the hotel of what the king size room would look like.
Its a very comfortable and nice hotel close to Wright Patterson AFB and Wright State University. The breakfast was almost nothing, with very little selection (hardly anything there at 8 am), no fresh fruit or much in the way of protein selections, so they could do a better job with this.
My wife I was in Dayton for the weekend. When we were checking in the young lady behind the counter was more interested in her personal phone call than waiting on us. Once checked in the room was fine. Left to go to dinner and other things when we got back room keys did not work, went to desk got new keys, they did not work either. Finally, the person from desk came with the master key arrived and it would not work either. They said they would give us another room, but when asked about our belongings we were told that they had tried to call maintenance and the manager, neither were answering their calls and there was nothing they could do.The next morning I asked if there was any news as to when we might get our belongings, I wanted to shower and not have to put on the same clothes. They said no and that they did not want to call the maintenance person and bother him.Around 9:30 in the morning we were told that the maintenance man was there, but was going to his desk and settle in (their words not mine) before working on our issue. Finally, he got to the old room got the door open and we got our belongings. We asked to speak to management and were told that they had tried to call and she never answered. We requested that she ( Linda Caldwell) be sent a text with our phone numbers so she could call us. We never received a call during our stay. I have tried calling Ms. Caldwell since and have left messages for her to call with no response. Oh yes, when we checked out we were informed that Linda Caldwell knew of our problems, but never responded to us or told staff how to answer our issues with a refund. Will never stay at another WYNDHAM property again.
Hotel needs some TLC . I am sure that the hotel was not filled to capacity. This room left a lot to be desired. It should not be rented out to customers! The property gets 2 stars only because the staff was friendly. I would not recommend with so many other options in the area!
Positive: Room didn¿t smell like smoke. Which it shouldn¿t had anyway! Negative: The breakfast that was included in our stay was a very minimal. No eggs, biscuits, gravy, fruit, mike cartons, etc. The bagels seemed stale? The ice machine was still inoperable 3 years later from our last stay.
Positive: Location. Negative: At first we were given a handicapped room. Water from shower all over bathroom floor. Room smelled like urine. 2nd night they moved us to better room. Staff unfriendly. Store required cash but didnt have change. Remote broken, no janitor to fix it.
I was not impressed with our room. Our room had a outside yard light shining in our room window, and they only had sheer curtains to pull together to have privacy, which didn’t work and having a light shine in as you slept was ridiculous. We mentioned it to the staff and they said they would look into resolving the issue. We had to ask for a blanket because the one on the bed was just a suggestion if you ask me.
Called ahead to reserve a room. The lady on the phone gave us inaccurate price quote, also told us both our rooms were on the same floor! They were NOT one was on second other one was on third floor. The price that was quoted was not the price we were charged! Was also told there was a hot breakfast & there is NOT due to covid! Lady at the office should not say things they do not know about! No manager on site to assist with this major issue! And when one was called we were told to bad pay it or go else where, when there was major rain and a tornado down the street!! AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE.... NOT!!! DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!
The hotel room that my family and I received had a bedbug that was found on the floor while picking up a spilled cup of popcorn. We picked up the bedbug with tissue to make sure that wasnt any other bug or spider than what we suspected then we proceeded to it put in the toilet after we confirmed that was a bedbug. Then we packed up belongings and told management. The Manger at hotel does believes me and wife so we said it still in the toilet we didnt flush it. So they go to the room and check and still denies it was a bedbug but in response says that it was tick instead. In either case I will never return again.
The hotel is getting old and it shows. The curtain about the windows was coming out of the wall on one side. not enough that it was going to fall but it was pretty crooked and enough that I didnt want to mess with the drapes much. I stayed Wednesday night thru Friday and left Saturday morning. Both Friday and the morning on Saturday my room did not have hot water.
TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT! NO CUSTOMER SERVICE!!My family and I were on a long 25 hour road trip and this hotel was our Midway stopping point. After an extremely long day in the car my three children were very excited to swim in the pool, but were very disappointed when we learned that it was closed. In order to avoid a scene, we left to get dinner and do something else before going to bed. When we arrived back at the hotel to go to our room, I went to the front desk to confirm that the crib I had reserved was in fact in the room. At that time I learned from the front desk employee that there are in fact NO cribs at your location. I said this was all very surprising to me because I had called two days prior with my confirmation number to reserve one and the person I talked to confirmed that the pool was in fact OPEN and there were DEFINITELY complementary cribs available. I understand that is not an option at every hotel which is why I specifically called to confirm such. Since the specific things that I booked at this hotel were not available to me, I asked to be refunded our money since we had not even been in the room. I was told that was not an option since a manager would need to approve it but there was in fact no manager on duty. He also said he could not guarantee me that I would be refunded in the morning by the manager. he made no attempt at reaching the manager and was not apologetic at all! We decided to stay since I did not want to risk losing money on having to pay for TWO hotel rooms for the night if we went somewhere else. We didnt get any sleep with our infant in bed with us.The front desk employee told me I must have called a corporate number, but the number I called is the phone number that pops up when I Google this specific hotel. The greeting States thanks for calling Wingate by Wyndham Dayton-Fairborn it also gives the option to speak to the front desk by selecting option 3, giving me the impression that I was in fact speaking to the actual front desk employee of this specific hotel. When I called that number again last night, they told me it was in fact a corporate number but they showed on their end that they still had those amenities listed as available. I have tried calling several times to reach out to a manager, but have been told every time she is not available. I find it so hard to believe that there is no manager or anybody with the authority to make any sort of resolutions available on a holiday weekend! After leaving several messages requesting a call back and more than one email to management with absolutely no response, I am disgusted with the absolute lack of customer service
I had the worst experience ever and i work for Super 8 by Wyndham. The first room we were given had mold all over the furniture you could not even sit in the desk chair. The white comforter had a large yellow urine stain on it. We were taking my daughter to Michigan and I really wanted a good motel room to stop halfway. When we called the front desk he gave us another room. It was actually worse than the first room they gave us. We were so tired from the drive we didnt want to change hotels so my daughter found new linen and a bottle of cleaning spray and just cleaned the room. The manager was not availabe to talk to but i will be calling and discussing this with them. very Dissapointing in this hotel as i assumed with the price of almost 100 a night we would not have to clean our own room. That night when we went to lay down the bed just had a wet feeling like really musty feel. I truly hope i get something back from my stay so i do not experience this again. if you go ask for a room close to the elevator as apparently those are much cleaner. The housekeeper showed me what the room was supposed to look like. I would never have complained if i had been in one of her rooms. The front desk clerk who checked us in was very nice. Also they were supposed to provide a breakfast bag but the clerk said they were all out. go figure.
We stayed here twice within a week, on our way to and from our final destination. The rooms were dirtier than I would expect, our first room (315) had a very gross white stain on the luggage bench, mold in the shower, and my husband stepped on a piece of glass. On our second stay (room 308), the inside of the bathroom door was absolutely filthy (I’ve attached photos), and our towels had long black curly hair on them that stuck to us when we dried off. The phone was stained with a mysterious brown stain and the alarm clock was super dusty. The inside of the elevator doors were also very gross. The breakfast had a lot of options which was nice, but the eggs and meat were all very rubbery. On the plus side, there was a nice pool that my kids enjoyed, and the staff was very friendly, especially the food manager for breakfast. He was very helpful and personable, and even gave my kids a fun sticker activity for the car.Because of the cleanliness issues I probably wouldn’t stay there again, but the price, location, and staff were great.
The room was disgusting. It was not cleaned at all, as evidenced by someone elses clothes behind a table, bodily fluids on the couch next to previously mentioned table, a mystery bag in one of the drawers that I refused to touch, the moldy fridge, dirty coffee pot already filled with questionable looking water, there were someone elses pubes stuck in the towels, etc. We were also blindsided by an additional $100 security deposit upon checking in what was not mentioned. And the complementary breakfast was a banana and a cup of coffee.
WORST STAY EVER!!! The hotel personnel literally didn’t care about anything you had to say. More specifically, Everton, who was working the front desk, never got off his personal cell phone and never made eye contact with me while talking to me. He began to preach to me about how he was a Christian but also how it wasn’t a religion. I was very confused and will probably never stay here again. I would recommend any other local hotel but this one!
Nice clean hotel with comfortable beds and sweet sheets. (Thats the most important thing to me!) Plenty of electrical outlets in the right spots was a plus for us (as we had lots of devices to charge). Staff was very friendly and helpful too.Hot tub was open, but the jets were out of order, it wasnt hot and it had an oil residue on the surface. Pool was nice though. It would be nice if there was a clock in the pool area.Water at the bathroom sink would not get hotter than tepid and the towels were rough and smelled burnt like they do at a motel.Breakfast was pretty good, but they ran out of gravy very early and the eggs were cold. Lady maintaining it was very nice. Good variety of food for all tastes.
Excellent stay/quality for price. Unexpected jetted tub, tons of room, nice tv close to bed, which was in a seperate room from living area. Quick check in/out, no incidentals fee. Essentially on Wright State campus. Close to several shopping centers and eateries, convenient distance from highway on ramps. Would have liked to see more than one usb charging port and although there was a coffee maker in room, there were no cups or pods. Small deal, but clocks unchanged post-daylight savings
It’s a non smoking facility, but the hallway smelled like weed. The indoor pool and gym are closed. I’m not sure if it’s because of hotel or state policy. The breakfast only had muffins available; the coffee tasted like instant coffee. Overall, I felt like I was staying at a motel 6. Very disappointed.
The staff was very professional and accommodating. We were having trouble with our gift cards at first but they understood and where very patient with us and we finally got the room we wanted. We had come earlier in the day to check out the room to make sure it was what we were looking for and they graciously took us up to see it even though it wasnt our plan to book or check in right away. We decided on the King suite with jacuzzi tub big enough for two complete with up and down left and right adjustable showerhead and handicap stabilization bar. There were plenty of towels and even a bar of face soap my only complaints would be is that the kitchen area is very small even though there is plenty of room to make it bigger, and it would be better if there was a full size fridge instead of mini fridge
Regarding a King size Suite Room with a whirpool jetted tub ***First thing that was noticeably missing was the main blanket/comforter on the bed!! Also the bathtub was dirty and grimy. I had nicked myself shaving and needed a bandaid. We checked with front desk and they had none. Said they did have a first aid kit, but not anymore because someone bought it! Not accommodating at all. No drinking cups or coffee cups available. No complimentary coffee or hot chocolate or tea in the room. Only one remote control to operate both TVs. Also the showerhead is a handheld nozzle that has so much calcium deposits and grime that water was spraying in all directions. Not much water pressure at all. Bed is super firm
Arrived late, booked through booking. The front desk clerk upon checking in looked the reservation up by last name and keyed a card to the room. When entering the room, it was already occupied which was a huge surprise to walk in to for both parties. When attempting to correct the issues, Dallas, the front desk clerk, was a bit rude and very unhelpful, as they could not find the original reservation, nor did he even offer an apology for the mix up with keying a room that was already occupied. After finally fixing that by just taking another open room. The walls are thin and noise from the other rooms on either side and above can be clearly heard. The fridge was also loud. There was dried white stuff all over the couch, the pillows were very tiny. Over all for the price I would have expected better kept rooms. Will not stay at this location.
I was very disgusted staying her i took a shower there was tons of hair from other guess clogged in the shower. There were nasty stains on the sheets on every sheet on the bed and I had a double. The staff was continously contacting my room stating there were problems and there wasnt they called all night. I would not suggest 😒
Nice place, but grubby. Room obviously not cleaned properly. Hairs in the shower, spots on the floor and sink, handprints on the headboard and furniture. The carpets were dirty in the main area. Also, the latch on our bathroom door was missing, as well as the drain cover for the tub- which was left on the side probably due to the slow draining water. We didnt really notice how dirty it was until the morning, as we arrived late and were ready for bed. After we left, we put up a do not disturb sign on the outside of our door. When we got back, the sign was taken down and replaced on the inside and someone had been in the room and made the bed. The purpose of the sign is to indicate that we do not desire service and do not want anyone in the room with our belongings- which was completely ignored. Also, if you are looking forward to sitting in the whirlpool, dont plan on it. They have filled it in with concrete. The pool is stained, but very warm.Bottom line, pretty decent hotel that is poorly cleaned and maintained. Would not return.
My family got kicked out of two of the hotels hospitality rooms for a “noise complaint”. The hotel management and staff were well aware that my family would be staying in the hotel for a family reunion and the hospitality rooms were purchased so that everyone could mingle for the weekend. We had family from Florida, California and Memphis that came up for the weekend and everyone had to vacate the premises & find a new hotel at 12am. Not only did the hotel staff cost my family extra money but the staff made my family feel very unwelcome. We’ve had this hotel booked for the last 3 months for our family reunion and were very excited about staying in this hotel for the weekend because of all the great things we’ve heard and how great the pricing was, however; we will never utilize this space for family reunions ever again. The staff called the police on us and got us kicked out for no reason. The staff lied about us being “too loud” when there were only 10 people in the hospitality room, everyone was just chatting and catching up & got put out because we were talking & having a good time. There wasn’t any loud music, just family together talking amongst themselves. If your thinking about hosting your next family reunion here don’t. Spend your money else where
Had women’s conference to go to so decided to make a weekend of it and stay overnight. Arrived a little early (230) Checked in and the room wasn’t ready that was OK we were early so went to grab lunch. Came back about two hours later needed to change before going to the conference . Was told the room still wasn’t ready give them about 10 minutes housekeeping staff was short. Wasn’t able to get into the room till after five missed the conference we were there for in the first place was told we would get a call from the manager . Decide to make the best of it swam and hung out for the evening . The next morning we was getting dressed when staff came to the door to make sure we were leaving we had scheduled for late check out so I assureed them yes we were leaving that day .Checked out & explained again the problem we had checking in. Was told again we would receive a call from the GM. I completely understand being short staffed but if you have two hours to clean a room after being informed the occupants have arrived that’s plenty of time! To refuse to call your guest to discuss an issue that they had at your establishment that is unacceptable !!! I can say without a doubt I won’t be staying here again and I do not recommend this hotel especially if you have somewhere to be
While I do not always appreciate the sullen personnel at the front desk, my rooms have always been spotlessly clean and ready for my arrival. I use hotels across the country and I always appreciate cleanliness. This hotel is consistently clean, and I can recommend it, so long as you dont need a hug from hotel staff to feel good about your stay.
Location was in an office park -- nice and quiet. I felt the general condition wasnt great for the cost -- I usually stay in Super 8s and the building felt similar to one of those. The furniture was nicer, the towels and bedding were improved, but it still felt pretty familiar. Not a bad stay (clean room!) but Im not sure if it was worth the price premium.
The hotel itself was lovely. The room was clean and very well kept. My room had a fridge and microwave as well. The one only downside was breakfast. The breakfast area was swamped with young children in town for a soccer tournament. There was hardly any time for the breakfast attendant to sit down and no seats to be found. Otherwise, Im sure the food wouldve been great and not just mediocre on a regular day.
EDIT: They fixed the hot water issue and I have correspondingly added one star to their rating.Rooms are spacious, warm, clean, and well-lit. The beds are warm. The bathroom is spacious and well-lit as well. The housekeepers do a pretty good job at keeping everything tidy. The internet is pretty fast and reliable. There seems to be an issue with the hot water though. When showering youll get maybe 10 seconds of warm water and then there is only super cold water going through the pipes. This was a problem because outside temperatures were below freezing. I had no problems with the breakfast, but its more like something youd expect out of a Super 8 than a hotel at this price range. The front office staff didnt seem super eager to help me out (and didnt even try to help) when I had problems using the printer in their business center. If youre just looking for a place to stay the night, this is a great place assuming that they get the hot water issue fixed by the time you read this or that youre staying in the summer when its warmer.
Went all out and got a suite for my bf and I. It was meh at best. Receptionist and bookin pweon excellent. We did not arrive until almost 5 am. They allowed us a 1 pm checkout. So grateful to them! King bed was ok. Pillows good; two soft, two medium filled. Strange makeup. Sheet, very thin blanket, thin bedspread with elastic . them simply not provided. This was a suite. I should not have to call four times as things simply were not present in the room. Staff very kind. Sadly, the room was a massive disappointment when expecting a beautiful, stocked suite.
The best hotel Ive stayed in, staff was very nice and what ever I needed they was on it quickly. The room was very nice and clean. The bed was very comfortable free breakfast was very nice hot and cold food and drinks. The staff was very nice to talk to nice and kind. Overall a wonderful stay Dallas and the ladies made my stay a very pleasant one and I thank you Mr Farmer
It is a nice hotel. The rooms are clean and kept. The maids could be a little better. When I got into my room, there was a bar of soap left in the shower. There are a few little MINOR issues with the cleaning personnel. Not enough to keep me from coming back for the price though..
Very mediocre. I will say the Manager was helpful and friendly. He was apologetic when our thermostat wouldnt work and responded swiftly to our request. The beds were extremely uncomfortable...I stayed with 2 others and they felt the same way. The pool wasnt heated like advertised, the breakfast was unappealing and the tub in the shower filled up with water while showering. When I checked out, the staff on duty didnt make any eye contact with me, no smile and just stared into her computer when i said the stay wasnt very good. Nice customer service. LOL
The breakfast leaves a lot to be desired as there are not many options. They only have whole milk as an option for cereal/coffee. The rooms are ok but the shower heads are low if you are tall and there is a 1 inch open gap under the door for people to peep. The ironing boards need new covers as mine was so worn out I was not comfortable ironing my dress clothes on it. Overall I would only stay here again if forced by my company as there are many other better options close by.
The stay was great until the man covering last shift came in. We were sitting in the dining area watching basketball. The first thing he did was turn part of the lights off. He was angry because he had to clean another partys mess up. He proceeded to turn the TV to the weather channel. When asked him his name so I could speak with customer service about him, he refused to give his name. Very disappointed with the customer service. That being said, the room was was nice.
First off the staff there wasnt very good, the pool was almost if not as hot as the hot tub, The beds were hard and the pull out couch bed was the worst it had no cushion to it. The breakfast wasnt very good, i went down about 8:30 and my eggs were cold and also my bacon was very very cold. I had to go back to my room and eat because there were about 7 tables open but there was food all over them. In the bath room the tub was small and very very slippery. The wifi at the hotel is pretty much useless it was slow and often didnt even work. I wouldnt even give hotel a 1 star.
Went to close the blinds and found bedbug stains on the curtains!!!!!!! Not to mention they had someone behind the desk that didnt work there AND REFUSED MY REFUND AFTER TELLING HIM I WAS LEAVING. I HAD TO THREATEN HIM WITH A LAWSUIT JUST TO GET A REFUND ISSUED!!!!!!!! WILL NEVER STAY HERE NOR DO I RECOMMEND THAT ANYONE STAY HERE!!!!!
We cancelled our reservation after 20 minutes in the hotel. It was old, and smelled of urine and cigarettes. Front desk staff told us the locals are using the hotel as a place to hang out and party due to the low rates. Absolutely uncomfortable in terms of safety and cleanliness.
Really disappointed at the state of this hotel. My most recent stay was August 2018. I had stayed here before in August 2014.At that point it was a quality facility. In the intervening four years. The facility has run down. The entire facility just looks worn and dirty. They took out the hot tub. But still list it as an amenity of the property. It has fallen to a 2 star hotel.
Came to visit my daughter to the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. The room was quiet and clean. Bathroom tile could of used a bit more attention and elbow grease. It had some mold. Breakfast was not that great. It was free so I really can not complaint too much about it. Over all it was a pleasant stay.
My daughter and I stayed here on 8-24-2019. After we were in the pool for a while we went back to the room. My daughter was going to get a shower before a concert. Before she got in the shower head came off. Called the front desk she lady came and look at it and cut her finger trying to fix it. She then told us that the hotel was booked and could not move us to another room. Twenty minutes later she called and said that she found a new room for us. The new room did not have hot water and the air did not work. Then at breakfest the juice machine was not working.
When reserving online or via phone it is easy and stressfree. The accomodations for a Double or A King size bed or staying in The Suite are immaculate. Despite the virus restrictions; wearing a mask, breakfast is on time and full of prepackaged choices layed out in a clean environment. Laundry facilities, onsite, are reasonably priced. The day and nightstaff are friendly, knowledgeable, and accomodating. I highly recommend staying at this hotel.
Rooms were ok, big but still a little cramped. Lots of narrow spots, it was weird. The hair dryer didnt work, rooms didnt feel super clean , but it was acceptable. Breakfast was ok, pretty typical for a hotel. Location is good, but you have to drive to get to anywhere cool. Couple of chain restaurants around. Service was fine.
This is a nice hotel. My stay is miserable thanks to an Indian Bollywood Bash that’s been going on for hours on a Sunday night. The music and screaming is so loud that the building is shaking. The best the front desk could do was offer to move me to another room which would do nothing to solve the problem. They asked the party animals to turn the music down. Instead they turned it even louder. I came here from Alaska to do business tomorrow morning and will get zero sleep tonight. I hate this experience. I will never stay here again.
We stayed 3 nights for a convention at the Nutter Center. The room was clean, we received good service from the staff, and breakfast was great. The only reason Im giving it 4 stars is because the bedding needs replaced. Nothing bad, just that the comforter was lumpy and the sheets didnt fit. Overall though, we had a good experience and will stay here again.
I was on the fourth floor. The vending machines did not take dollar bills. I then went to the third floor and they were sold out of everything. I then went to the second floor, the ice machine was broken, but the vending took bills, but I order a mt dew and got diet. Still a win at this place I guess. First floor pool.was decent. Maxed at 4 ft I think. Good for kids, no life guards. Not surprising though. Interior looked nice but I think this hotel is falling apart. Cracks in the ceilings, could have been black mold above my bed. Tubs are not deep, but lots of outlets for a room. Chromecast does not work with their internet. Internet is not great and shared throughout, and not by floor or room. Breakfast was normal hotel breakfast, so not great. Price was good but dont get much but a place to stay for your money.
Heater didnt work until the middle of the night so I cooked when it finally did. Took a week to straighten out a two day bill. The water pressure and temp of the shower fluctuated wildly. They do have a waffle maker in the cafeteria which was nice, but the rest of the stay was poor. Wont be staying here again.
I made a reservation for June 6, 2017 at this Wingate Hotel due to a death in our family. It was highly recommended by my brother, who was also staying there. And, in all fairness, it is probably a nice place to stay. But, upon check-in, after driving 5 hours, we were told that they had over booked and did not have a room available for us. The desk clerk told us that they had found us a room at another hotel (the only vacancy in the city), gave us a paper to give to them, and sent us on our way. The desk clerks demeanor was so unfriendly and uncaring that it seemed we were a burden and he just didnt want to deal with us. Upon arrival at this other hotel, I knew I would sleep in my car before spending the night in that place. The first thing that caught my attention was the block party that was happening on the first floor and the second floor balcony by a group of men sporting their beer bottles and being loud. I am no prude by any stretch of the imagination, but coming from the Wingate to this place was an insult. The room itself was adequate but wreaked of cigarette smoke, as did the lobby. To make a long story short, we, ourselves, found another room in the city, and moved locations. The Wingate charged us as a no show. Im still battling with that charge on my credit card. The saga continues.
Well here I am again at the Wingate. I hate to give the reviews out on this one. Mainly because I dont want anybody else to know about it. Without a doubt, my favorite place. I swear every time I come here. Its Cleaner than the last time. Now I will say that I have had. Just a teeny bit of sarcasm and rudeness,if thats word? But after a few swings a few uprecuts! We are on good standing. Before the price, and for what you get!. Its a really good deal!
For a older hotel it was ok. Definitely not living up to wingate name. The doors had to be pushed just right in order for it to lock. The drains were way to slow in 2 separate rooms. Rooms didnt feel and seem cleaned throughly. Towels didnt seem cleaned or fresh. Front desk and the manager were great and hence 3 stars or else I would give it 1 or 2 stars. Did not have our room ready even at 4pm but the lady at front desk resolved that issue to my satisfaction.
Staff was great and the room was decent enough. The breakfast in the morning isnt as good as your typical Hampton Inn, but it was free so thats nice. Im not sure if it just happened to be the time I was at the property or if upgrades were ongoing, but all of the external door card readers were Out of Order. Not a huge deal, but it could force a but longer walk with all your bags at check in and check out.
I am really impressed so far with this stay. Its the first night. Im up here for a career fair. The place is very clean and tidy. The environment, along with the people, feels very professional and put together.Everything you need is in walking distance. The neighborhood is beautifully landscaped and clean. The surrounding restaurants and stores make me feel very safe to walk alone not to mention my most favorite store Meijr is right next door. 😊
Nice hotel conveniently located across the street from Wright State University. The staff and manager are great. The rooms are very clean. I would rate it five stars if they had a full service restaurant, but they do provide frozen foods that are microwaveable in your room.
The staff is kind and friendly and some are knowledgeable of the area but the maintenance is highly lacking and if you want a decent hotel to stay in for a long duration ie. working out of town this is not your hotel. Im in one of their rooms right now through this Friday night early Saturday morning coming up and Im not happy. Toilet is broken, hot tub down stairs by the pool broken, pool cold, same old breakfasts daily save the weekends with biscuits and gravy but meh Im not staying here again. skip it and stay at the La Quinta right next door or across the street the back street Presidential or way down the street at that other one by the Waffle House.
I actually quite enjoyed my experience here. It is no Ritz, but as far as moderately expensive interstate side hotels go, I think it is worth it. The room was surprisingly large, the lobby was small yet nice. It is also located conveniently close to Wright States campus.
This was the worst trip ever. I was price gouged due to overbooking. I was told on multiple occasions that there was an event and the hotel was overbooked. However upon arrival, the hotel was magically able to add an additional day to my stay in the same room, for another $150. (Which was twice the cost of two weeks prior.) Wow, arent I lucky. I get the room, turn on the fridge and go out for the evening with my kids. I return to find out the fridge is broken, so I go to the attendant. What do you know, they cant get me a fridge, but have 3 other rooms they can offer me. WOW, either Im the luckiest guy in the world and all these rooms magically became available, or the hotel was never overbooked. Mind you the parking lot was hardly half full. There was no hot water either day, so yeah, theres that. I watched the manager argue with someone else about his $129/night being too much... weird, he is in the same type of room and its cheaper... The hotel was obnoxiously loud. The desk was broken, one of the legs was bent. Housekeeping skipped over our room, the list goes on. The the perfect moment. I reserved the first night on a credit card. When I added a second night, I told them to charge $200 to my credit card, and the remaining $136 to my debit card. They said okay. Everything was in order. I look at my bank statement the following Monday. Surprise, there is a $200 hold on my credit card, and $336 was charged to my debit card. Had to argue with the manager for 30 minutes and his only offer was for me to call my bank to release the hold on my credit card. I DIDNT WANT 300+ DOLLARS TO COME OUT OF MY CHECKING ACCOUNT!!! After much more arguing, and threatening to drive back up there from Atlanta, he refunded 1 nights stay. NOT GOOD ENOUGH. Im leaving for New York in a few days, Im still out $336 in my checking account, there is still a $200 hold on my credit card, and the refund hasnt processed. So not only did my weekend suck, Im not going to have any money to enjoy myself in New York because of this place. If I could rate lower than 1 I would. I will never stay at another Wyndham Hotel again. EVER.
I enjoy my stay everyone was great I liked t desk clerk. He knew everything about t area. Even getting pizza he knew the best place. The pool n jacuzzi were great. Was so good coming back next summer. T room was good micro fridge fon tv iron coffee maker. Everything worked fine. Everyone was friendly and plenty to eat for breakfast.
We checked in to room 205. Bedbugs made our stay a short one. We left after finding the nasty creatures in our room about 90 minutes after checking in. Thank goodness we hadnt put anything on the floor or bed. We took a bug to the front desk, and were refunded all costs.
We arrived late on a Friday night and didnt realize how dirty the room was until the next morning. Little hair trimmings in the bathtub where you place your soap. There were also toothpaste spots on the sink and mirror. The bed frame had smudges all over from heads, hands, and who knows what else. NASTY. POOR housekeeping. We also put our do not disturb sign up which was blatantly disregarded, placed back inside of our room after they entered our room and made the bed. I felt very VIOLATED and angered by this incident of invasion of privacy. Ive never experienced this before. Went to the manager on duty about this and he said he would talk to them. The hallways dirty, only one working elevator. Everything is grimy and nasty. No towels by the pool and no whirlpool because it has been filled in with concrete.Wyndham what a disappointment. Never again.
Got completely screwed at this hotel. When we called we reserved two rooms for two nights and they told us we had the rooms. When we got here they said they only had one room for two nights. So we added a room and told us that the room was going to be 169 instead of the 99 rate that they told us the rooms were. Halfway through the next day we got a call telling us that we didn’t have a room to stay in and that we had to come get our stuff. Would never ever stay at another Wingate hotel for the rest of my life. Wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone.
Nice and tidy rooms. It was a hot day in Dayton when we arrived, so we were disappointed when we walked into a hot room (the A/C wasnt on). It took some fiddling with the A/C unit, but we were finally able to make it work. But still, a little annoying. Otherwise it was a comfortable stay
We came in for one night April 18th, 2015. We arrived at the hotel at 4:30 and was given a card for room 311. The room had not been cleaned yet plus several rooms on the third floor were not done. Went back to tell check-in person. Several others had issues also. She gave us another card. That room was still occupied by a guest. I was very unhappy that I let myself into a room where people were still staying. The room they finally got us was not very clean. The manager that was to be on duty was not there but I spoke to him ...instead of apologizing he gave me excises as to why things werent done. He was not at the hotel, I told him he should be there, taking care of all the issues. His answer was he had just worked two weeks in a row and was going to work the next whole week. I should have known when we drove up and both trash bins right outside of the doors were over flowing with trash that it wouldnt be good inside. Will never recommended a Wingate to anyone.
I am Dennis Buck and my family reserved this hotel for four nights via Priceline. I personally called Wingate desk to make sure it has a roll-in shower because I am a wheelchair user. They told me it is. Also I asked them politely to remove the bed frame because of my transfer onto bed from chair. It was too high so removing the bed frame will lower the bed to make my transfer easier. The person at Wingate told me they will take care of it. A day before our arrival, I called again to ensure a room is ready by removing bed frame and roll-in shower. They told me everything is taken care of. We arrived from a long flight and looked forward to get a room. When I entered the room and found they didnt remove the bed frame. So I was upset and spoke with someone at deal and they told me they cant do anything and they asked me if I can sleep on floor for the night then next day someone will fix it. I was very surprised to hear that because I am on a wheelchair and I can not lift myself from floor to chair. That is not professional of them saying to me. I requested for refund, they cant refund because of Priceline. The point is they didnt do what I asked and the manager of the hotel is not so great. I strongly will not recommend anyone to sleep that hotel. It looks nice but the service is very poor. Just be aware of it. Thank you!
Pricing is strange. Its a different rate for each night we have stayed. I understand about different rates for the weekend, but Mon,Tues,Wed the rates have been $94.00, $116.00, and $124.00.Maybe Expedia prices are better. I never imagined that upon checking in at front desk, the daily rates would be so different. You can be sure we will never stay here again
Wireless was terrible. Not in a too slow kinda way either, but completely unusable. Front desk people too busy on their phones to greet you when you come to the front desk. The housekeepets were great however and the breakfast was good. Fix the wireless and id stay here again.
My group checked in about 4pm July 5 2017.Very courteous front desk attendant. Right off the elevator is the indoor pool and hot tub . The room has a very comfortable and roomy kingsized bed with a hideabed sofa. This morning we were treated a very lovely breakfast consisting of waffles, sausages, eggs, fruityogurt
I work at Wright State University. We had three Assistant Professor candidates stay at Wingate over the last few days. The people at the front desk were so wonderful to work with. We asked that the candidates be in rooms that face Wright State so they could see their potential place of employment and that the candidates were given a gift bag we took over for each of them. Both things happened for each of the candidates. Each of the candidates said they had such a great experience staying at Wingate.
Very accommodating for our situation, Marissa was extremely friendly and helpful and was able to get us in effortlessly at the last minute after a competitor hotel ousted our reservations and tried to relocate us too far away for our event. Hotel was clean and breakfast was efficient.
Awful night so many unsupervised kids and the worst part was the susuprived kids acting so disrespectful with parents watching..wow , POOR HOUSE KEEPINGI think they need to roll security footage and charge the rooms for the children throwing food on the floors, spilling the food and drinks and just leave it..Shame on you adults.. facebook shaming should be done to these parents allowing this behavior..rant over!P.s.room was clean and nice tho
Room (twin queen) is relatively large, with a fair amount of power outlets. There is also wired Ethernet. WiFi is also available, also free. Internet speeds varied between sub-broadband and maybe 24mbit over the two nights I spent- its Time Warner and I know theyre pretty bad in Ohio. The shower was fantastic, lots of heat and pressure. The soda machine on my floor didnt work. The curtains in my room were too sheer to block any light from coming in, plus my window looked out over the lobby roof, straight at one of the floodlights pointed up at the sign on the building.
The room reserved months in advanced was given away when another couple asked for a switch. We were still given a key and walked in on the couple (who doesnt lock the doors at night, honestly?). The room we were given had a king and a sofa bed instead of two queens like requested.
Terrible customer service experience. I arrived at the hotel to find that another guest had been waiting for something to check her in for at least twenty minutes. We waited a while longer then went searching around the hotel because we were worried someone might be hurt because I have never arrived at a hotel only for there to be nobody staffing the front desk for such a long period of time. When we returned to the hotel later that night, we were not issued an apology until I specificaly said that I was frustrated that we hadnt been given one. Even then, excuses were made about the employee being the only one on staff. The entire staff was rude all the way up the chain- from the original employee, to the front desk manager I spoke with on my way out, and then to the hotel manager who later called me. And for some reason, every staff member I spoke with insisted that a sign was left out on the front desk that informed me that the staff was away assiting another guest- this was entirely untrue because I certainly didnt see a sign- nor did the four other hotel guests who happened to walk by the front desk while I was waiting to be checked in. There was not a single person who freely gave me an apology- it was until they were prompted. In the end, I was issued a voucher for a one night stay but I definitely will not be using it there. Only positive was that the room was clean.
Very helpful staff!!! Arrived late at night and most other hotels were booked, she was able to find me a room and accommodated my need to be on the first floor. Wingate also serves a completely breakfest. Only complaint was I was unable to access their WiFi in my room.
If you enjoy getting diseases from bloody bed sheets due to the fact that theyre housekeepers cant do the one most important simple task they are given and refuse to change them, then this is the place for you! My fiance woke up in the morning to finding drops of blood on the top of his bed sheets. After examining himself to make sure it wasnt his own, we came to the conclusion that is was probably some drug addicts blood since he found a crack pipe in the previous room he had stayed in.
Disappointing stay...Room 426 - no linens for pull-out sofas in room, had to call, then went to desk to get...no remote for TV in bedroom...had to call the desk and get info on to turn on the TVs...light bulbs out in the bathroom...SUPER SLIPPERY bath tub with shower head that doesnt completely turn off so watch out when you turn on the shower! Cold water at bathroom sink not cold at all. Three people in this room...where do we put all of our suitcases?? Both fans were NOISY - turned off the one in the living area because of noise AND it didnt cool the area down. Fan in bedroom SO noisy and RIGHT NEXT TO THE BED - FREEZING! Husband cleaned fan! and most of noise gone. Maintenance is so poor...how about a yearly, at least!, check out on your rooms???
This was the first time that I stayed at a Wingate and we travel quite often and arrange block of rooms at several hotels as we travel the country watching our son play collegiate baseball. This particular weekend, hotels were booked forcing us to give this Wingate a try. We checked in Friday, April 11th. Was greeted by a nice young man at the front desk. We dropped our bags in our room and went to game 1 of a 3 game series. After the game and dinner we returned to our room and turned on the TV to find out that we couldnt get any reception. I checked the cable connection which seemed to be secure and still had a very snowy picture. I called down to the front desk (10:00 PM) and no one answered. We watched snowy TV for awhile then went to bed to be woken up (11:30) by phone ringing almost causing me to hit the ceiling. The young man who greeted us when we came asked if called the front desk. I said yes, over an hour ago. I explained our problem and he said that he would come up to our room and I said we were now sleeping and they could take of it in the morning. Saturday, April 12th there was a young women sitting behind the front desk and I informed her about the TV (felt like I interrupted her looking at her cell phone) and she informed me that it was a Time Warner Cable issue and it was the whole 3rd floor and they were waiting for them and it wasnt their fault. We went to game 2 came back to hotel to change. Checked the TV at 5:00 and tried to watch the Masters but couldnt tell you where a golf ball was on the TV. Left for dinner @ 6:00 and now told the young man who checked us in that it still wasnt working. He then tells me that they have been having issues and waiting for TWC for 3-4 days. Who waits that long. Maybe the girl in the morning should have been off her cell phone and on the phone with TWC getting them there. Went to dinner came back at 9:00. New lady, same snowy picture. Told her I was upset and she let me know she doesnt even watch TV (who cares? I DO). She told me I would have to see a Supervisor in the morning. Check out Sunday, the 13th and get another lady. This is the first time I have ever NOT been asked how I enjoyed my stay. So I told them I was upset about the TV and her reply was, I know isnt it terrible 4 different employees not 1 offered a discount or responsibility. While I understand their claim it was a cable issue but they checked me in before letting me know about this known problem at the full price. Their efforts to get the problem TWC there to fix it was horrible. No one would accept waiting 4 days for service in their home, but because it didnt effect the employees it wasnt a concern. I bet if they would have been giving 20% off each night to everyone on the 3rd floor, they would have been on the phone getting TWC there. Instead they shoved it down our throats.

2022-06-16The jacuzzi tub in the room was great. The kids loved playing in it before bed. The price was good for what we got. We stayed 4 nights and the breakfast kindia got old after awhile because although it’s a “hot” breakfast it’s just waffles and breakfast sandwiches that are hot. Was still thrilled that they had a breakfast. Overall it was a really good stay.

2022-07-12It’s OK. The rooms are fairly nice and generally clean. Some shortcomings are the “hot breakfast” really means just coffee and waffles, and packaged foods, very minimally meeting the description but it works in pinch.About half the amenities were closed, but this may improve. Call prior if you want to be sure. The AC only runs with the compressor so you can’t use it as a noisemaker, and there’s no fan in the bathroom, so you will need to rely on the TV. The Fan On mode wasn’t supported correctly by the AC unit. It was a thermostat wired to an old box.Overall not bad, but great, but alright. Gets the job done. Clean. Nothing special.

2022-06-25Large and spacious suite with a very comfortable bed. Lots of space and seating in the “living” area of suite. Coffee maker was missing the basket to put the grounds in but I went downstairs and told them and grabbed some at breakfast. Nice toiletries paul Mitchell. They sold me on upgrading to a suite from now on!

2022-06-06First room a/c loud. Switched rooms and new room pull out couch was uncomfortable. No extra pillows. Bathroom toilet rocked back and forth. Big hair on toilet seat. Bathroom door did not close. Took 45 min to re check in for 3rd night. Keys didnt work 3 times. Gave me a master to use. Quoted price for adding a extra night was quoted lower than I got. Never tried to upgrade do to errors. I would not book here ever again.

2022-06-21Positive: The double king room was very spacious. We had a room on the 3rd floor and it was very quiet, Did bot hear ant foot traffic or next door room, above or below noise. Breakfast was okay. Breakfast sandwichs you could heat up in the microwave.

2022-07-07It was fine - our kids enjoyed the pool. We thought the beds were lumpy at first glance, but its just really weird comforters that created the illusion. Plenty of hot water. Boring breakfast with no real healthy options - lots of processed stuff like sugar-filled cereal and pre-packaged pastries. We had an actual Ethernet connection - that was super cool! Havent seen that in a while. Close to great food like Joes Pizzaria. Air conditioner was loud and didnt do a great job of cooling the room.

2022-03-15Positive: The location was in a great area, that was the ONLY benefit. Negative: The room the hotel provided had roaches crawling up the wall, when I notified the staff there was no apology or concern. I spent WAY to much money to be offered a dirty room and WILL NEVER be back.

2022-04-03They have no customer service. Laid back attitude. Copy centre printer doesnt work. One of the employee wanted me to give him my email as well as my password so he could print what I wanted from the staff printer. He alleges that he has no work email. Guest walks in they are busy carrying on their conversations as though youre invisible. Fire alarm kept going off so you cant sleep. Also, I found a bed bug in my room. I asked for the manager and they sent the man from maintainance. He was the only pleasant person among the staff. I went to the front desk immediately and the girl was so unprofessional with an attitude. She acted as though I was staying there for free. They tried my patience. I checked out immediately and while was getting my bags- myself. They had the housekeeper waiting to clean the room for the next guest. I couldnt believe that nonense.. I wonder how many of their guests have left with unwelcome critters in the luggage. The hotel need to be closed down, fumigated and the staff replaced or trained. The maintenance guy could be in charge of training.
