Is it normal for a dog to get excited about going to the vet? Because mine does. She loves this place and these people even though they poke her with sharp objects everytime we visit. She gets so excited she still pees when she sees them. Great place, they really care about your animal.
Whole pet wellness and Dr Fine are always very thorough, knowledgeable, remain calm right after my dog had suffered a cardiac event and knew exactly what to do about it and what to test for, they are very caring and genuine, very honest, and their prices are very reasonable. They practice and embrace traditional veterinarian medicine as well as more holistic treatments and nutrition but only if you are interested in that. They do not push unnecessary treatments on you, not ever. My only hope is that I wish I found them earlier because my old vet was not up to par comparatively to say the least!
Ellie had been treated for a split nail at our regular vet in June. A piece on the side of her nail was still firmly attached so was not removed at the time. 3 weeks later the nail still wasn’t growing back so she was prescribed antibiotics. 2 weeks of antibiotics and her nail slowly was growing back, but abnormally. The piece that was firmly attached grew very long and became loose. I bought a boot for her to wear to protect it until I could schedule to get her in to get it trimmed, as my regular vet suggested so it wouldn’t get caught on something and rip off. A few days ago, Ellie’s nail snagged and ripped. It was gushing blood and horrible to witness. I applied Kwik stop and bandaged it, but I knew I needed to get that loose piece trimmed so it wouldn’t snag and rip again.I tried scheduling with our regular vet and other vets all over Gahanna with no luck. Finally, I was able to get in with Dr. Fine at Whole Pet Wellness Center on Friday. I explained to the receptionist everything stated above. I asked if Dr. Fine would be able to remove the loose piece of nail and clean it. I was assured she could do this and scheduled the appointment.I made very thorough notes. I provided Ellie’s previous appointment with our regular vet, the treatment she received, and photos of the loose piece and nail growing back. I asked the tech again if Dr. Fine would be able to remove that loose piece before taking Ellie back and I was assured she would. I was also assured it would be thoroughly cleaned and sterilized. They took Ellie back, and I waited 45 min. I got a phone call from Dr. Fine. She told me she was not going to do anything with the nail; that she wasn’t going to touch it. I asked why, and she said, “Because it looks fine and it’s good for the loose piece to be on there.” I asked if she could at least please clean and sterilize it and she refused, saying she wasn’t going to touch it.She then went on to try to get me to pay for things Ellie didn’t need. It was unbelievably frustrating. I redirected the conversation back to Ellie’s nail and again asked her why she couldn’t trim the loose piece. She said she would only do something like that under sedation, and that I would have to schedule another “special” appointment to have it done. I told her I was told by the receptionist and techs she would be able to remove the loose piece of nail and clean it, and that was the whole reason I had scheduled the visit. I was growing more and more frustrated. It was like going to a car mechanic, trying to sell me whatever she could while avoiding the actual problem.I told her since I had received the wrong information and no treatment that I wouldn’t be paying, since she truly did nothing, and it was obvious she didn’t even read over Ellie’s notes and history I provided. Her voice turned cold and she said, “No. You will pay.” I asked to please have Ellie returned to me. I had taken time off of work for the appointment, all so she could tell me she wasn’t going to do anything to help and that I’d have to reschedule another appointment. When I asked to have Ellie returned to me, she said, and I quote, “Oh, you’ll get your dog. As soon as you pay.” I immediately panicked. I did not feel comfortable having Ellie in there with that woman one more second.I rushed to the front doors, called them to pay over the phone and get Ellie back as soon as I could. It was the worst experience I have ever had at a veterinarian’s office. I paid for truly nothing.Fast forward another hour. I was able to get Ellie in to our regular veterinarian (thankfully!) that night. She was able to trim and clean Ellie’s nail (no sedatives needed). She discovered Ellie has a tumor in her nail bed, which is what is preventing her nail from growing back properly! They did X-Rays to confirm this. Ellie is scheduled to have that removed Monday morning.I don’t understand how Dr. Fine is even a licensed veterinarian.I felt the need to share this so it hopefully doesn’t happen to anyone else.
They are not open on the days listed here. They are closed 3 days per week. Only days open are M, W, Th, F. They close early In Thursday’s. When my pup had intestinal issues on two separate occasions I brought him and they pushed me to buy expensive supplements (that don’t help) as well as various prescription medications and they have asked me to bring in stool samples EVERY time I bring him and of course there’s an extra charge for that. On one occasion the vet assistant gave me instructions not to feed my dog for 24 hours so I starved him for 24 hours and then Dr. fine calls me the next day and tells me I was just supposed to have him skip only 1 meal just another example of the lack of professionalism and poor communication. They make some nice coin off things like supplements and stool samples and take 3.5 days off per week, but when it comes to actually doing anything to help the issues I bring my dog in for they are completely ineffective and rarely available when I actually need them. I’m switching to another vet immediately even though this one is literally within walking distance from my house. The only reason I gave them two stars is because the location is convenient. If you are just looking for someone to clip your dogs toenails, keep up to date on vaccinations and have an annual check up you should be OK here, but if you need a vet that actually helps you solve problems or be there when you need them find someplace else to take your family pet.
Dr. Julie is truly a gifted vet! Shes very knowledgeable in her field of study, answers questions and makes you feel very comfortable. Its a clean environment and puppies definitely love her! Lastly, the prices are so affordable!!! We loved our experience and will definitely be back!

2021-11-03What a lovely clinic. Dr. Fine and her team are warm and kind. They have a loving and nurturing environment for their clients and patients to receive integrative health and wellness care. They also have a soft spot for helping senior pets receive the supportive care they deserve during their Golden Years.

2020-01-27Dr Fine has been exceptional with my dog cooper. Her staff is also amazing. They follow up to see how he is doing after an injury, help assess what warrants a quick trip in or not, and what constitutes an emergency visit... Very educated and we are lucky to have them as our vet! Very comfortable and low stress office, they dont overbook so you wont find yourself sitting and waiting forever while other pets make their way in and out, so its really good for the pets, low stress. Overall we have just been so happy with them!

2021-07-29I have been taking my German shepherd Rue here since I got her summer 2020! That being said, shes now 1 years old and they have helped her have a healthy life ever since! They did her spay surgery and have helped her through the process of healing from growing pains and everything else! They have really low prices when it comes to meds and they use alot of natural alternatives and holistic choices which I am all for! I love doctor Fine and the whole staff, they have always given me great advice on anything I ask all the way down to what brand of food might be best for her. Even during covid they managed to maintain clear communication and were always available! Im so lucky I found them!

2020-08-28I love Dr. Fine and her staff. Everyone is friendly, professional and knows what they are doing. As a person in the pet industry myself, I recognize and am comforted by the care they show each patient. They take their time getting to know your pet and handle them gently. This is of the utmost importance to me. I have also spent time on the phone with Dr. Fine talking about care options, test results etc. I really feel like she is invested in my care and knows my pets.

2020-09-10I have two 16 year old cats, a 16 year old dog and a 10 year old dog. We switched this year to Dr. Fine after our other vet kept saying that there was nothing medically wrong with my 16yo old dog Tazz. Hes been housebroken since he was 6months old and started having accidents inside. Like he would just stand up and pee right where he stood like he couldnt help it. Wed taken him to the old vet several times and had at least 4-5 urine tests done as well as other tests to see if he was just having trouble holding it and were told he was fine and it was behavioral and that we should see a behavioral specialist. I finally broke down and got a second opinion at Dr. Fines establishment and they found hed been dealing with a urinary infection. He got some meds for that and some supplements for joints and memory and hes right back to his usual self! In the first 10 minutes of our visit, Dr. Fine even found that our 10 year old dogs knees pop out of place and we were never told that at our old vet. They could never seem to figure out why, on occasion, she would suddenly limp but then be fine the next day. I guess now we know. We have officially switched over to Whole Pet Wellness Center as our vet. Dr. Fine and her staff are wonderful and caring individuals and we are very pleased with the care our furkids have received there. I only wish wed switched to them sooner. Id give 10 stars if I could.

2021-04-07I love the staff and how they treat my pets. They are thorough and kind. What keeps me from giving them 5 stars is the fact that the doctor said money is no object when I asked them what they would do in reference to a procedure my pet needs. They did not offer options to be able to make it affordable. I had to stop going there because I am now $1000 in debt for them to tell me that they dont know what is really wrong with my pet. After asking around I found somewhere a little farther away but they have options for people who cant throw money at them.Edit bc it wont let me reply to response from owner: I didnt ask them what they would do, I asked what they would do in my situation. They made it sound like there was no other option when in fact there is. It was disappointing and made me feel like a low person bc money IS a problem for me. I hold firm on my review and I will not be going back. Id rather drive 30 minutes to a place who understands that I care for my pet but cannot afford 2k+ surgeries (they offered a plan that pays for most everything for around 400/year and have done surgeries on other pets for around 400 more). The issue was more so about not providing other options that are apparently out there. Im just glad I didnt follow through with the suggestion they gave because now I can actually help my pet without having to sell a kidney

2018-10-28Probably the Best veterinarian office I have ever been to. The staff was nothing but kind to our dogs, then Dr. Fine came in and sat on the floor level with the dogs to examine them. Of course the dogs thought this was great and proceeded to lick her on the face which she just smiled and petted them, telling them she loved puppies (even though they are 2 years old). She spent plenty of time talking to us about any issues even 20 minutes past their closing time.I highly recommend Whole Pet Wellness for anyone whose pets are their babies, you will Love the treatment you receive here. I am so glad we found them.

2019-04-08We switched over to Whole Pet Wellness Center for our cats care this year, and have been really happy with the experience so far. Unlike other clinics we have visited, this place has a very peaceful and calm atmosphere. The staff clearly care about all the animals and this was the *happiest* I have seen our cats in a vet setting. One of our cats had dental surgery here in February and the process was flawless. I dont think any pet would feel like an afterthought here, and I am really pleased with the holistic approach to wellness.

2018-05-19Dr. Fine is excellent! The atmosphere is calming and everyone was so kind and gentle with our 14 year old cat. They respond to questions quickly and thoroughly. Dr. Fine took a balanced approach to care by recommending a course of treatment at a level that addresses our cats condition, but avoids over taxing his system. Reasonable prices, great care, highly recommend!

2021-01-02Take both my cats here. Their methods are great and they also have some different options (like acupuncture) that you could take advantage of in conjunction with normal practices for the betterment of your pets health. Would recommend.
