I could not be happier with the care and concern shown to my 2 1/2 year old male cat Rocco when we brought him there after our own vet found the bladder issues. West Park got Rocco in right away and took amazing care of him from the time we dropped him off on Friday through surgery Sunday. They kept us aware of what was going on and what they were doing for him. When they said they would call with updates they always did. Everyone was very kind and compassionate.
West Park Animal Hospital is great all around! They were able to see my dog for a same day emergency visit. When i called to see if that was even a possibility, Brittany was so compassionate, kind, and helpful! They were very busy but Dr. Cressman and her nurses were all so kind and focused when caring for our pup! We will definitely be returning for all future vet visits.
Gremlin was running around my work hungry in Aug 2005. He was good with sub sandwich meat and water. I tried to find the owner and still wonder who this 3 yr old belonged to. I had him over 16 yrs and he outlived all 5 cats and our Boxer in house. The last pic was a month prior of all the black hair he used to RIP Muttocks; my pet name for him sort of speak. 02/04/22.
I know my review may not merit much weight seeing as how I never entered the clinic but Im rather irritated. My dog sustained a nasty gash while playing outside and she needed to be seen by an emergency vet. I called this place at roughly 7pm and had to leave a voicemail due to all reps being busy. Not a big deal, I understand these places get busy. I ended up finding another emergency vet to take my dog to and they took care of her fine. We eventually got home at about 12am the following morning and we were there since about 7:30 the night before. So....4 and a half hours. This establishment is open until 1am. Are you really going to tell me that not one representative can at least call me back in a 4 and a half hour time span? Id be more forgiving if you didnt advertise yourselves as an emergency clinic (as stated on the sign outside your building). I wouldve been totally fine if they had called at like 11pm telling me they couldnt see my dog. But to not even call at all? You cant use COVID as an excuse anymore, Im sorry. 1.2 million people live in Cuyahoga county and if you cant find someone to pick up the slack due to short staffing (Im guessing thats their excuse just like everyone else) then youre just not trying hard enough to hire people. Dont be surprised if you get more negative reviews in the future as you come across as not caring
This is not our normal vet but our dog was having an issue we deemed more urgent than his normal vets availability , first mistake. West park was able to take walk ins this morning which is great and we expected a wait , that’s not the issue. The issue is that from the time they got our dog from the car and returned him was 6 minutes… the girl stated that she had to muzzle him and he was acting crazy and the doctor would call us with results . Anybody who knows our dog knows that is laughable he does not have an aggressive bone in his body whether it be towards strangers , kids , other animals, etc.. he’s never been muzzled in his life so that itself probably terrified him. Also, call with results of what? What could possibly have been done in that short of time span especially if our dog was acting “crazy”. We were sent off with some antibiotics which is terrifying because they couldn’t even tell us what’s wrong so how can I be confident in the treatment? Next time if you are dealing with a “challenging” dog maybe call the owner to assist before giving up on them.
Would give a zero if I could, this is the most OUTRAGEOUSLY expensive veterinary care I have ever experienced with the 7 cats and dogs I have owned. They tried to charge $700 to neuter and microchip our puppy. I called the vet that I have been using since 2006, and they offer the same, with better care (in my opinion) for $280. When we told them we did not want to microchip our dog, the cost of his neuter dropped to $450. I would love to understand how they can charge $250 to microchip a dog. The last time I had a dog microchipped it cost $25 for the chip and $25 for the quick and easy procedure! That’s five times the cost! And for what? He will already be put under from the neutering. All of this is not even to mention the time that they overdosed our dog on heart worm medication since they clearly do not keep diligent notes or communicate with each other from appointment to appointment and ended up giving him double the dose he was supposed to have taken. He was sick for days (lethargic, vomiting). I am 100% convinced that they take advantage of pet owners. We can’t even go into the building with our pets anymore so who’s to say that they are even providing the treatment that they say they are? Also, they will reschedule appointments and not let you know about it until the day before when you call to ask about why you haven’t gotten an appointment confirmation. The list goes on and on as to why you should NEVER take your animal here. There are plenty of other smaller veterinarians in the area that do this for a living and genuinely care about animals and their owners and not price gouging to finance their new facility.
I have been in a few times since COVID-19 and have been very unhappy with the service provided mostly because of extremely long wait times, this most recent visit was completely different. I waited in my Car a total of 40 minutes from check in to check out. Not sure what you guys did to change the process but keep up the great work. Leroy loves all the guys and girls and Dr. Kristen knows I’m a pain sometimes but she always does her best to put me at ease and make me and my big boys happy. Thank you again!!!
If you want quality care for your pet I do not recommend West Park Animal Hospital. I was given the option of either going with one of 2 treatments 1) medication 2) lab work and x-rays. On the agreement with the dr. we chose meds. WRONG decision !! I am not a vet and feel that this could have been handled alot differently. My beloved pet is no longer with us. Also in trying to get justice I had an employee tell me that they are only comfortable bringing their pet in if they are with them. Another words if they didnt work there....... Upon picking up his ashes they were pretty much thrown at me with a smart sorry for your loss have a good day
Had an emergency and they saw our cat as soon as they opened. I was happily surprised at how affordable the emergency visit was. Im glad we were able to research places before deciding on a place instead of going to the first (predatory) emergency vet that was suggested. Relatively new to the area so these guys will definitely end up being our regular vet! Also, I feel like theyre doing the best as they can with covid. Just be patient as this is a regular vet office that also take emergencies!October, 2021:I would like to update this review, 9 months later to say that Im still very, very impressed and very grateful for the staff at West Park Animal Hospital. Unfortunately, we became regulars with our cat since I initially wrote this review, probably returning for a total of three or so emergency visits. He did unfortunately and unexpectedly pass away during what we thought was another routine emergency visit but this was not at all due to anything we or the staff could have anticipated or prevented. In fact, I believe through the care Dredd received from West Park Animal Hospital he was able to live as long and as comfortably as he did. They truly did everything in their power they could, up until the very end. They allowed us to sit with and process the unexpected loss privately and as long as we needed and handled the difficult process of getting him cremated. Thank-you from the bottom of our hearts and we will continue to seek any future care of any of our pets from them.
I cannot rave enough about the treatment and experience weve had with West Park Animal Hospital. Our little 9 month old Ruby was admitted yesterday morning. Dr Rebecca Lazarus and Dr Rebecca Smith were absolute angels. Not only were they very communicative throughout the entire 2 day stay of our puppy; they also took 15 minutes + to provide updates on each call. When I would call for updates, they took time out of their schedules to provide updates instead of a call back.Throughout the experience, the transparency was very clear, and no decisions were made without our approval, and we were walked through each option as we continued figuring out a treatment plan for Ruby.I cant recommend this clinic enough, and the care and communication we received was next to none.THANK YOU West Park Animal Hospital - from the bottom of all our hearts, especially Rubys.
If I could rate zero stars I would. This place is a JOKE. So many times their staff have forgot to put calls into the doctor charts for serious emergency questions, knowing we are calling you guys for professional help from a vet and yet this place just in one out the other. Has no care in the world for your animal or animals and does not take responsibility or ownersip of their flaws. I had to pay out of pocket for an emergency visit for my pet that could have been eliminated if Westpark actually did their jobs. I will spend every dollar on my pet that is not the point. The point is I dont want another innocent animal or a loving owner to go here and be let down mulitple times! Please reconsider your Vet if you go here.
This place is listed as a medical boarding facility, and the website has a portion dedicated to medical boarding specifically. I called and made a preboarding appointment, as required, and the receptionist was. . . strange. With a bad feeling, I called back a week or so later to check on the appointment and to ensure the facility had space available for my desired boarding dates three months later (so plenty of notice). At first the receptionist couldn’t find the appointment at all and put me on hold to get help finding it. Then when she found the appointment, she told me they “don’t really do boarding.” I tried to clarify: You make preboarding appointments but don’t board animals? Yes, that’s correct. So what’s the point of a preboarding appointment? Apparently it’s to see if the animal is fit for the boarding they don’t do.So if you want to go to this place for boarding, be advised: They will make an expensive appointment to evaluate your pet, but they won’t board it.
I had to take my 17 year old dog here last week. Deep down I knew it was time to say goodbye but I wanted to talk it over first. I was a little nervous that I was going to have to sit in the parking lot for hours being upset or not be able to go inside with my dog. But they brought us in very quickly after I called and I was able to discuss his condition with the dr. We decided that the best thing I could do for him would be to say goodbye. It was the hardest thing I’ve ever done but I’m glad I was able to be there with him in his final moments and I’m thankful the vet and staff were prompt and helped make it as smooth as it could be in such an awful situation.
My kitten is only 4 weeks old and gave us a scare last week when he fell and hurt his leg/head. The staff at West Park Animal Hospital got us in quickly and helped him get back to normal ASAP. While the services are expensive when you go during emergency hours (which is to be expected) I did not feel the staff pushed me into doing unnecessary things just to jack up the price and they helped me to save as much money as possible while also taking the best care of my kitten. He is now as happy and healthy as ever and knowing that these emergency services are available truly eases my mind!
Its hard to find a good vet in the area, however they are my to go vet for emergencies. Although not my primary vet, they take great care of my dog whenever we have been in scary situations.. Most places are 8+hr wait or they make you triage and tell you your problem is not bad enough...but here they see you. I wish I could have them as my primary vet but they are always booked. Love the staff and Tchalla loves the vet!
My 17 year old dog had tumor gym left eye that my vet (Tremont Animal Clinic) wouldnt treat because dog was too old. Dr. Scott removed the tumor at half the price of 2 other surgeons, cared for my dog with dignity, and saved my Satchels life (and mine-during this covid its been my dog Stachel and I at home). MANY thanks to Dr. Scott and all the staff! Theyre my new vet.
I had to decide to put down my precious cat Bella in February 2020. Dr. Murphy was so caring and showed much compassion. She let me stay with Bella as long as I wanted, before and after the procedure, I was a wreck!Days later, I received a card from Dr. Murphy with a hand written note, and that meant the world to me!I now have a new member of the family, her name is Jazzy. I now bring Jazzy here for all of her appointments, and she gets the same outstanding love and care!I highly recommend West Park Animal Hospital to anyone needing care for their pets!Betty Gradiski11/03/2021
I took my 15 year old cat here because he had fallen really sick. (and he looked horrible) They told me he had an upper respiratory infection and an eye infection, gave him an antibiotic shot and gave me eye drops to give him. But also told me other than that he looked great. As a week went by my kitty looked worse instead of better. I took him to a different vet and they found about 3 more things wrong with him including fleas. My cat had never shown signs of fleas but what vet doesn’t catch that? Especially when West Park had him for 2 hours and this other vet had him for 2 minutes and could tell. (This new vet was shocked at him only being diagnosed with 2 things previously) At that point his condition was so bad, as well as him being so old I had to put him down. West Park seemed as though they were just trying to rush and get my kitty out of there because they had a lot of other patients.
This was the best experience I have ever had at any animal hospital/clinic!I am obsessed with communication and clarification and both of these were met equally. The wait time for a response on the phone can be lengthy, however, I would want them to take care of a critical emergency for my fur baby as opposed to spending time on the phone as well.I was put on hold and eventually taken care of completely!Awesome Experience!!
Despite the covid way of life these days, the staff and doctors at West Park are running a well oiled machine. I had my new rescue Kobe in for a check-up and microchipping. They come to the car, take our pets, do what needs done, Dr. Megyhn came out to speak with me and then they brought my baby back with a clean bill of health. Everything is status quo only you stay in your car instead of an exam room. Qudos to West Park for continuing to do the best they can.
I’ve never done a google review but I actually set up a gmail account just so I could leave this review. West Park used to be one of the premier veterinarian offices on the west side. I don’t know what has happened. It’s become a poorly managed “business” rather than a top rated veterinarian office. They are rude and do not respond. They showed no regard for the well-being of my bulldog. I’m so disappointed.
The staff showed caring and compassion for my fur baby. They were very thorough and took their time caring for my dog. Ive never had to take him to the ER in all his 12 years of life but I felt it was a reasonable price. Ive heard other ER vets are outrageous in price. Thanks Westpark. I will be back for ongoing care.
This is my go-to vet for emergency situations and theyve always been wonderful, informative, and welcoming, no matter which vet assistants, techs, or vets Im working with at the time. Ive sadly had to bring two animals here for tough decisions and theyve always been so kind and patient while weve worked through our grief. Highly recommend, and Im sure their care for general, preventative veterinary needs are stellar as well.
Its been two years since I moved to this practice and I couldnt be happier. I originally selected it because of the physical therapy they offer for my special needs guy, but the care all of my guys (2 cats 3 dogs) has been given has been outstanding. The Pet app they partner with is helpful as well as I can show my shot records now with my cellphone.
Went to Westpark emergency vet on a Saturday with a new kitten whose spay wound had opened and got infected. I was told they were at capacity and only had one doctor on staff that night, who could not do procedures. What is the point to have someone who couldn’t do a stitch/staple or clean out a surgical wound at an emergency vet. They were only taking animals that were not in stable condition. They took our kitten just to make sure she was stable which I did appreciate. The tech who came to the car was professional and polite. I gave my score as I had excellent experiences in the past. And hope this was just an out of the ordinary circumstance.
I love West Park Animal Hospital! They are so efficient and most importantly, kind. Whether during an emergency vet visit or an annual checkup, you can tell they care about your pet and want you and your pet to feel as comfortable as possible. Cant recommend them enough!
Top this nightmare. Multiple vets at west park animal hospital failed to find these cat attack wounds on my kitten. I was pushed to more and more expensive testing, and a hospitalization. These wounds abscessed IN THEIR HOSPITAL and still they did not see them. They collected $1000 from me. I found the wounds once I got him home. The management still has my money. They refused to consider any refunds despite the fact that three of their vets did not find these wounds. I was treated like a dollar sign the entire time, not like a person or a customer. I respectfully explained what had happened, and stayed respectful through many many contacts. They had no answer, but they still have my money. This business is disreputable and a disgrace to West Park. ZERO stars. (I was forced to click one in order to post.)
My first experience with WPAH was with a very sick pup who was admitted for 3 days. The staff was friendly, caring and most importantly loving to my pup. Additionally, the pricing is reasonable! My second experience was with my other dog who declined rapidly overnight and I brought her in to cross the rainbow bridge. The staff again was compassionate and they gave me the time I need with my pup to say goodbye! I highly recommend this clinic!!
I am 60 and have had many animals, but Ive got to say, and so does my husband, that we finally found the Best Vet ever. We feel like our pets are finally in competent hands. Thanks so much! Only improvement, maybe just a bit longer with the Doctor. Not a critical thing. I just needed a little more time to think. But thats it!
I took my dog here for an emergency appointment after she got in a fight with my other dog. They got me in about an hour after I called. Upon arrival we waited less than 10 minutes before someone came to get my dog out of the car. The appointment was brief and they brought my dog back to the car to wait for the doctor to call me (she is skittish and very nervous around unfamiliar dogs). It meant a lot to me that they cared to consider her comfort as we waited. The doctor called and was knowledgeable about her injuries, didn’t push me into making an expensive decision, and let me decide on which treatment to pursue after giving me choices. I had a wonderful experience here and would absolutely refer them to anyone!
Our 6 year-old GSD Meeka and us love Dr. Megan and the rest of the staff. They take such great care of her and solved a persistent skin infection earlier this year. I would give them 5 stars but their appointment systems are a hot mess. No one answers the phones and the appointment function in the mobile app for iPhone doesnt work. Email is the only way to reach them which they will reply to by the end of the next day. Simple business problems to fix but as long as they fix my Meeka when needed I guess I will live with it.
Very professional and well-run clinic. I’ve been for numerous emergency visits as well as planned surgeries. The vets, vet techs and front desk staff are unfailingly knowledgeable, helpful, and straightforward. They use the PetDesk app which is really convenient for messaging and viewing appts, prescriptions and lab results. The vets have provided extremely high quality care for my dogs. I was touched by how compassionate they were during end-of-life care. I would highly recommend this clinic. The only downside is that they are *popular* so you may need to wait a while to be seen for non-life threatening emergencies. (They are very good at triaging though, so you can trust that your pet will be seen quickly if needed.)
They assisted us when we thought our pup ate naproxen. 3 nights, 4 days in the hospital just to be sure. 2 prescriptions we had to have filled at a drug store because they dont keep it onsite. She wouldnt eat their food, so they had me bring her in food from home. During us visiting her, she sniffed out a pill that was under the exam table. We were told it was just an antibiotic. She came home with kennel cough and fleas, which she gave to our senior dog. So after close to $2000 for the pup, we had to get an emergency appointment for the senior dog for her cough. They both have been on antibiotics. Im not happy with our experience here. Also, they wont see your dog for ingestion of naproxen without a $65 phone consultation and a case number from animal control. I was on the phone with them for 45 minutes getting this case number. Most of that time was on hold waiting to talk to someone. By the time we got the case number, got the dog to the vet, we were told that it was too late to induce vomiting, which is what poison control recommended.
My wife started taking our cats and dogs to West Park Animal Hospital, specifically Dr. Kerri, close to 20 years ago. My wife had tried several other Vets in Cleveland area before coming to WPAH. Many were skilled but Dr. Kerri was the only one that tried to get to know and focus on the pet. She asked detailed questions, handled our pets with care/kindness and spoke clearly with her recommendations and/or advice. The clinic itself is clean, well equipped and open extended hours. Dr. Kerri is responsive in critical need moments and someone you can trust. Over the years, she saved the life of our most beloved dog and Im sure extended the life for all of our pets. Dr. Kerri is WONDERFUL!! Thank you Dr. Kerri for everything - Ann and Joe.
I cannot say enough great things about West Park Animal Hospital. We trusted Dr. Scott with our Aussie’s emergency ACL repair and both of our pups are now patients there. After surgery, we did physical therapy with Shannon and she was phenomenal. Everyone is so welcoming and seem to really enjoy what they do!
We took our Mastiff boy to the ER for a 2nd opinion on walking issues. Dr. Beth did such a thorough exam that she found issues that I did not notice. And also found ones that I did not tell her about up front. Her communication was very good and she did not do anything extra without consulting with us first. I am not saying he was healed but she did everything to see what could be happening and it may warrant an MRI and neurologist.(This was also told to us by another vet.) she also found a problem that was missed by someone else.My experience was great. My current vet, at another practice, I really like. If my current vet ever leaves I would absolutely consider switching to this place. The staff was even great! Thank you everyone!
From start to finish, WPAH has been amazing with communication & the services they provide. They have a mobile app you can download to make the new patient process easy & quick! So when I arrived I just needed to call to check in as an emergency walk in. They are covid compliant & had all their patient’s humans wait outside while they provided medical care inside. The clinic called me a total of 4 times throughout the visit. I felt very in the loop of what was going on with my pet while being outside. They went over treatment costs & different options of administration. As much as an emergency visit is uncontrollable, I felt very in control of my pets future. For being a new patient, we were there for about an hour & 20 minutes. That’s incredible!! You could tell they have a large strong team from all the workers who retrieved & returned the patients.Very friendly & happy to help. Thank you!
Was looking for a place that took walk ins without appointments. West Park Animal Hospital did just that. Great service and very helpful Vet tech as well. Had a great experience and looking to continue using the services at West Park Animal Hospital. I highly recommend this Animal Hospital to those who are looking for the best care for there Pets.
Love how they care for my pets. Everyone is friendly. You can tell through the staff interaction with your pet how much they care about animalsI felt safe and hopeful when I had to rush my St. Bernard to them due to her eating a bowl full of raw rising dough. She came home happy.
Had to make an emergency visit here at 10pm on a Sunday and I cannot say enough how friendly the entire staff was. From the ones who answered my distress call to Melissa the tech who came to the car was so kind and thorough. Helped put my nerves at ease with how nice she was. Dr. Janelle Martin was amazing as well. The visit was not long at all considering it was the middle of the night. The prices were incredibly fair and I thank the entire staff that worked 3/15 evening for taking care of my baby!
We had a great experience with West Park Animal Hospital last Saturday when our 22 year old cat Karl had a sudden emergency eye problem. They were able to take him within the hour and took our information over the phone. Everyone with whom we interacted were pleasant, professional, caring, and didnt treat us like were just numbers on a very busy Saturday. They took good care of our beloved kittie. We will definitely use their services again!!
Theres one vet tech who always takes care of my dog Pluto. Short curly blond hair i think? I should know her name by now, Pluto certainly knows her. He loves the vet because of her. And hes an intense guy per our trainer so thank you for making life easier. The vet, Dr. Natalie, is also wonderful.
The vets made me feel real at ease when I was extremely worried about my baby (9 year old Pomeranian)! She was there for a couple days, but came home and seems to be doing well. I greatly appreciate everything they have done and I will go back in a heart beat if needed!
I recently lost my baby girl Kara (GSD) after nearly 12 years with her. Dr. Henderson and all the other vets, the techs, and assistants have played a major part in giving me all those wonderful years with her. Theyve literally saved her life twice and have spent many hours consulting to provide her the best quality of life despite all the genetic illnesses she struggled with. They are all wonderful people and Im eternally grateful for all the kindness, love, compassion, and dedication they have offered. Over the years they have also help me reunite a couple of lost dogs with their owners. When the time is right and I am ready to give my all to another pup, Im absolutely returning to the West Park Animal Hospital.
I took my 16 year old Garfield there today and about 5 mins later came back out to my truck and said your cat lunged at me so we couldnt see him, then said they was to full and short staffed. Well which one is it? Because my Garfield is a sick 16 year old declawed cat and you dont know how to handle a scared cat. I dont think your a good animal hospital if you cant handle him. He came out with a cat leash on so he must have let you do something plus you just took a pit bull out of a car and he was fighting you so Im kinda confused. I think you just dont want to be bothered with my poor sick baby.
West Park Animal hospital is the best , we have been with them for at least 14 years, the staff is wonderful taking the time to explain things and to listen to our concerns . They truly care about our pets we are not just a job to them . this is why when we moved to Ashtabula county we still drive back to WPAH for all of our pets care.
These folks have saved me in an emergency more than once, I am so grateful we have them in the Cleveland area. Such compassion, such professionalism, so organized, fairly priced and comprehensive care. I am so loyal to West Park Animal Hospital, they have never steered me wrong and always bring me peace and assurance when Im there.
They are so kind and compassionate. They’re thorough and knowledgeable. I have only good things to say for my now third visit here. I would highly recommend Westpark animal hospital to anyone who wants quality care and quality people caring for their fur babies. I’m so grateful for their entire staff!! Thank you again!!
My 6 month old bulldog decided to eat my toddlers sock and had to have an emergency surgery. Dr. Christine was absolutely amazing and had kept me so informed about every outcome good to worst. She kept me very caln and never once made me feel pressured to go one way or another on any decision. By far one of the best vets i have ever been to. I have switched for them to be my full time vet.
THANK YOU!!!! My best friend is alive and doing great thanks to West Park Animal Hospital. I called around to other emergency vets and they all turned us away because they were short staffed. We found West Park (Thank God!) They took her in late at night. Had they not been quick enough, I would have lost my dog. The doctor performed emergency surgery immediately.Thank you soooo much for being absolutely AMAZING!!!
I just want to say thank you! Everyone was over-the-top friendly and very accommodating. I did have to wait very long time in the parking lot, but I was very thankful you were able to get him in that day. Keep up the great work! On a side note, your Facility looks great, very clean!
I absolutely recommend Westpark Animal Hospital! Dr Kari is wonderful and caring! She has treated my dog for several years and I couldn’t be happier with her care. The staff is great too! Scheduling is always easy and getting questions answered or prescriptions filled is never difficult. I know my dog is in the best of hands when he’s at Westpark!
Our experience with West Park Animal Hospital was so great. I brought my dog, Ash, as an emergency visit as he suddenly stopped walking and seemed in great pain. The phone triage was kind and quick, they got Ash right in and were able to call me back within 3 hrs. And just so you know, the parking lot was full and it was after 9 pm! The vet explained everything including all options. It was 6 days ago and he is slowly doing better. I appreciate all that you did for us as well as all your patients. As an aside, my family used to go to Dr Meister over 50 years ago at this clinic! We sure loved him too!!!! Thank you.
I had a situation with my dog that I wasnt sure was an emergency. I called and spoke to someone who was straight forward but not pushy about what needed to be done even though my dog had never been a patient there. They are up front with pricing and always make sure the price is ok before doing anything which I really appreciate. The vet who treated my dog was professional and made sure I understood what he was going to do and what to expect in plain English. So far my dogs recovery has been uneventful and she is happy and healthy.
I want to thank all staff members. I was here in 2017 when they called him up this year for my cat they immediately had his records. The staff are very personable, patient and work with you to every extent to make sure that you and your pet are taken care of in the best possible way. I do not give out reviews and I give this place a five-star. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Confident and competent vet! Very nice and respectful and explained things well. For an emergency vet the prices weren’t bad. They also have wellness visits too. Junie is well cared for and Mila will be too. PetDesk is great for making appointments quickly. They are also very responsive on confirming. Highly recommend!
I had to unexpectedly put my 15 year old cat down this past weekend and there was nothing but caring and compassion from the staff. From the phone call prior to my visit through my entire process, it was geniune. To my surprise, I also received a hand written sympathy card in the mail today. Ive been in customer service my entire life and I am thoroughly impressed with the professionalism, empathy, and care that was provided to me here. I will forever say wonderful things about this animal hospital. -Love Bellas family
I have taken both my cats to West Park Animal Hospital over the past year and a half for emergency visits. The receptionists have been wonderful, helpful and compassionate when Ive called ahead to ask questions and tell them I was bringing my pet in. The doctors and staff have been amazing with our animals and more than informative when it has come to cost and options. Our first experience was with our cat, Jack, who had two urinary blockages just a few weeks apart. He ended up spending over a week at West Park and needing surgery. We were updated daily about his progress while he stayed, as well as got to visit each day! The follow up check ups were just as great an experience and they were more than willing to answer all of concerns with after care, no matter how many times we called.Just recently, my other cat, Charlotte, was not acting herself after a few days of congestion so we took her to West Park, as our primary vet was closed for the evening. Following Covid protocols, my husband and I were still allowed back in a waiting room once they took Charlie. Once again, the doctor was more than informative, providing us treatment options and his recommendations. We ended up doing an x-ray just to make sure her upper respiratory infection wasnt pneumonia and found out she has asthma! We feel very lucky that we decided to take her in and had such a thorough examination so we could begin treating her asthma appropriately and ensuring shes feeling her best here on out!Thank you West Park for everything you do for our beloved family members! 💕
Thank you so much Dr. SCOTT ZIELINSKI, DVM, for saving my German shepherds life!! And thank you so much Dr. CHRISTINE DANISH for standing alongside him during all of this and keeping me so informed! Coming in and thinking my Dakota had bloat only to find out that his spleen ruptured and no one was sure what the prognosis was going to be! All of your quick actions to get him back, get the X-rays and blood work done, and get him on that O.R table within an hour, helped save his life and I could not thank you enough!!!!! You all made this scary tragic experience a little more easy for me to cope with and the most important part is that I get to spend a little more time with my best friend ! Thank you thank you THANK YOU!!!! a++
They took great care of my dog when I had to bring him in on Easter Sunday. I am very grateful for their kindness. I took my dog in to see the vet because he was not using his front paw. He put on a brave face while there and showed no sign of limp. They listened to me when I told them of past flare ups of arthritis. They recommended a few things and prescribed him some meds to get him back up playing with his older brother. Thank you for being kind to my boy and me. :)
All staff including the Vet and Asst. were incredible ! The kindness and respect they gave Griffon and myself was beyond reproach. I know they felt the pain along with me in having to let go of my best friend. Thank you for your professionalism and compassion. Tom Ballard..
After a frustrating and unsuccessful attempt to get service at another emergency clinic we stopped at West Park. This was our first time at this clinic. While waiting in the car we were soon in touch with a live person. Shortly after a tech was at the car to get particulars and take our cat inside. The were busy and the wait for a call back was rather long. What I feared was a more serious situation turned out not to be. The vets diagnosis was spot on and our cat was back to normal a week later. We have a regular vet, but I would not hesitate to use their emergency services again.
Our dog was in West Park Animal hospital for almost a week. The doctors called me at least twice a day to keep me informed of her condition. Great doctors, great staff. All of them hustle! Although the visit was far from free, I was pleasantly surprised reasonable costs on my final bill.
Last week we made the tough decision of putting my dog down. Dr Rebecca Smith & staff could not have done a better job of making it as comfortable as possible for us. She was informative, patient & incredibly kind which I am so grateful for. If I decide to adopt another dog in the future I will definitely be taking it here. Thank you again.
Ive taken my cats to West Park Animal Hospital several times now for emergency care, including once for a critical emergency that ended up being terminal. Every time they are so kind, warm, compassionate and patient. When our fur babies are sick or injured its very stressful and to be met with such kindness and empathy is so comforting. I highly recommend giving West Park a call for regular or emergency visits.
Dr. Christina was wonderful at our last appointment!! Having the appointment in person truly made a difference. Dr. Christina took time to explain everything to me and answered all my questions as a new puppy owner. However, Our first appointment with Dr. Kristen was very disappointing. I barely was able to speak to the doctor via phone from the parking lot and there was miscommunication about the vaccines that were given. I will be requesting a room for an in person appointment from now on.
I cannot thank the staff at West Park Animal Hospital enough. We rushed our 8 week old puppy in in an emergency situation & Dr. Scott & all the staff welcomed us and took top notch care of our little guy. Dr. Scott answered every single question and concern we had and took the best care of him. Now he is home, healthy & an energetic puppy! THANK YOU!
I had an emergency and my cat needed medical attention. They were able to see her within an hour on a Sunday night. The staff were polite and kept me informed about everything that was going on. My cat saw several different veterinarians while she was there, and they were all very well informed about her case. I will definitely be coming back for any other pet needs that I have!
My 7yo cat needed an emergency spay due to infection of uterus. I went up at 4:30pm waited in car for an hour for vet tech to come take her in for evaluation. They did evaluation and called and said no treatment would start until full payment. They gave an estimate of $3400!! They said 2-3 days of hospitalization. I said no way am I paying that I chose to take my cat home. I had to sign a release paper stating the vet didn’t agree w/ the release. They told me the problem was easily fixed w/ operation and I was risking the cats life. The evaluation fee which of course had to be paid before they brought my cat out to me was $150. Friend recommended Mission Possible in Medina called at 9am they said bring the cat ASAP. They were very kind and professional surgery was done and my cat was released that afternoon cost $300! $3400 vs. $300 how do they even begin to justify charging what they do?
My experience was wonderful, everyone was kind and caring. Dr. James was the nicest vet I’ve ever talked to and he made the whole situation so much better by just being kind to us. Mandy was also very sweet and we appreciated her being calm and reassuring. We didn’t even know Westpark existed but we’re very happy to have discovered a great vet hospital close to us. Thank you for everything!!
Everyone deserves a second chance at life...even dogs. Dr. Borys and his wonderful staff at West Park Animal Hospital did just that for my Gildon who is my 14 year old Boston Terrier mix. I wanted to share my story.Gildon had an eye infection in the beginning of September. I took him to see Dr. Borys. Eye drops were prescribed and the infection cleared up. After about two weeks the infection came back worse. The infection became so bad over the last weekend, we took Gildon to see Dr. Henderson on Saturday as an emergency appointment. Dr. Henderson discussed our options and gave a potential diagnosis. It was either a serious melting corneal ulcer or a potential tumor behind the eye causing this issue. We decided antibiotics would be prescribed and reevaluate the situation after 48 hours. Gildon and I went back home and he rested that day. When we woke up Sunday his eye looked worse than ever. I knew at that point I thought it was a tumor in his eye. After discussing with my wife, I decided it was in Gildon’s best interest to proceed with euthanasia. I didn’t want him to suffer anymore. Especially since he is an older dog. Dr. Borys has been his primary veterinarian his entire life. I wanted Dr. Borys to perform the procedure. I made the call to the ER department to make an appointment for Monday to have him euthanized. We left a message for him to contact us for his availability. Our family began saying our goodbyes to him all day on Sunday.I took Monday off work to spend time with him as I wanted to make the last possible appointment with Dr. Borys to have the euthanasia done. When I woke up Gildon seemed to be in good spirits. He was wagging his little tail. A tad bit of his eye swelling went down. It made me think, perhaps it wasn’t a tumor but just an infection. Perhaps the antibiotics were starting to work. It had only been 48 hours. I thought to myself at least he will have one last great day. I picked my wife up for lunch with Gildon and we took him to Swensons. He had a plain hamburger as I wanted to treat him. As we got home....Dr. Borys called back. I explained the weekends events.Dr. Bory’s asked if I could bring him in as soon as possible. So I took him in right away. Dr. Borys did a re-evaluation and didnt think it was time for euthanasia. He felt Gildon had a few years left of quality life. There was only one condition. The eye had to be removed or he would die. I told Dr. Borys that I trust him and if he told me to remove the eye or go through with the euthanasia I would do what he suggested. So he removed the eye that afternoon.I picked Gildon up Tuesday afternoon. He seems to be feeling so much better. He is just about back to his normal ways. These last few days have been an emotional roller coaster. Sunday we were saying our goodbyes. Today my family and I are so very grateful. We love Gildon so much. One eye or two eyes.Thank you so much again West Park Animal Hospital.
I have brought my cat here urgently manny times. Unfortunately my cat has urinary issues and also has seizures. Every time he has ever come here they take such great care of him. He has had to stay many times over night and I always feel comfortable leaving him. Everyone is so friendly and patient. I have yet to come across anyone who has treated me poorly. It’s hard waiting for the doctors to call with an update because they are so busy. If I call for an update no one has ever seem bothered that I’m calling to check on him early. I would highly suggest bringing your animal here. But you need to be patient. These people are so busy so you might get frustrated waiting to hear back from them but I promise it’s worth it! They truly care about the animals and their owners. I will always bring my Hendrix here.
I switched during the pandemic and was nervous bc it’s so big and busy. But they’ve been awesome. Very easy to get an appointment and I love that you can request a lot of services online. I also had to do the walk in clinic one day for my pup and expected to be there a few hours but was in and out within the hour and Dr. Thompson did an awesome job explaining everything to me and helping me decide if I wanted to do an X-ray or not. Its cheaper than other vets I’ve been too. Walk in clinic on Monday with prescriptions was under $100.00.
I am so glad that we found them. My families experience has been nothing short of amazing. We lost our first GSD last June. They made his last days comfortable for him. They showed us great love and compassion. Then when we got our new puppy, they show him the same love. I feel very great full to them. 💙
I can’t say enough good things about Dr James Gant and the rest of the team at West Park Animal Hospital. My dog received emergency care there, and Dr James was so compassionate and empathetic. He patiently sat with me and was so kind during a very difficult time. He explained everything thoroughly and answered all questions. I absolutely recommend them for care for your pet. Everyone I interacted with was beyond caring. I will now be changing vets and going to them full time.
I have been going to WPAH for 15 years. They cared for my mini schnauzer from the time I got him until his last breath. Now, I have a golden puppy and they will be caring for him as well. The employees ALWAYS take the time to ensure your questions are answered, actively listen to your needs/concerns, they’re empathetic, and just all around a very well run facility. I have never had a less than wonderful experience. Thank you so much for all you do everyday to care for your customer’s 4-legged family members.
I don’t get how this place gets bad reviews my dog is very reactive at the vet and they gave him his shots and nail trim after dealing with him in the parking lot ( he was screaming) Dr Natalie and the vet tech that came up did such an amazing job thanks you so so much
I have one cat with kidney disease, one dog with epilepsy and bad teeth, and another with PU problems. I completely recommend West Park. No matter what, they will always give you a call back. They do not care if you call and ask for an update. I was able to take my cat in at seven am, but also able to pick my dog up at 10pm. They saved three of my animals lives. I wouldnt take them anywhere else.
They got me in quickly and the exam price wasnt too bad considering it was after hours on a Thursday. The item prices (sub-q fluids, antibiotics) were pretty hefty, especially compared to other vets in the area. Staff was courteous, professional, and worked with me on planning follow-up care and non-emergency diagnostics elsewhere to help save me money. I would recommend them as an emergency vet.
Waited and hour and a half in the parking lot trying to get in, no communication, had to call them and then finally someone came out to get my dog. Then an hour of my dog in the building, they still have not seen my dog. The whole parking lot has changed over a few times. I understand I came in with a not very serious emergency and COVID and everything but no communication and a 3 hour wait when the parking lot is empty now. I would recommend if you are waiting to just call every 5 minutes and MAYBE they will see your animal faster.
Everyone was very understanding and accommodating with with pandemic. The friendly service and overall helpful feel of the practice was refreshing. As with any emergency practice it took a little bit of time but it is well worth it. My cat is feeling 100% better and back to his old self.
I recently adopted a a 9 yr old dog and West Park Animal Hospital was recommended by a few of my friends. It was a weird experience with everything being curbside but the Dr. called me to go over why I was there, then a tech came to retrieve my dog. The Dr. called me again to discuss overall care and they brought my dog back to me. It was a well-visit to register as a patient, which was very affordable & I bought some 3-in-1 flea, tick & heart worms meds. The whole ordeal was about an hour while they were simultaneously taking care of other pets. I was very impressed with the entire experience. Highly recommend!!
I had an emergency with my dog over the weekend and took him to another emergency clinic. They recommended an emergency neuter and said it would cost between 3 to 4 thousand dollars. I was devastated because I did not have that much funds, I could not take my baby home in the shape he was in and my vet could not see him for 3 weeks. He couldn’t sit or lay and was shaking in pain. I was referred to Westpark and they were able to take him right away and charged me less than 700 hundred. I don’t know what I would have done without them! The staff was kind and compassionate and did an amazing job taking care of him. I was extremely stressed that I couldn’t go in with him, but they have a great system in place to deal with social distancing. My baby is a very difficult patient because he is aggressive with strangers and he rips his own face off if I try to muzzle him. They were able to treat him without me putting a muzzle on him. I must add that he is a great judge of character so the fact that he liked the staff and didn’t try to eat them is testament to the great care they provided!!!
Excellent animal hospital, and COVID-19 protocols are effective. Customers pull into the parking lot and stay in their cars - staff come to your car, check you in, and then carry the pet inside. Communication is via phone calls, as is check out. My cat needed an examination and bloodwork - I was in and out in under an hour. This would have been faster had I been a regular customer (they had to call old vet for records).Vet was very knowledgeable, friendly, bright and energetic. All my questions were answered thoughtfully and I felt like my cat was in great hands. I absolutely recommend this animal hospital over any other!A little pricey but you get what you pay for: high quality service.
Much too busy, often difficult to get to a doctor on the phone for consultation. I suppose thats what happens when youre the best veterinary facility in the area which also has after hours emergency services. On site lab insures fast results for blood & urine testing. Overall the pros far outweigh the cons. Keep up the good work!
Amazing and very caring people. For Emergency services and standard vet services the prices are very reasonable too.Its a longer drive for me to go here, but after they were so compassionate and supportive late at night on Christmas Eve in euthanizing my very sick cat, and then on another visit giving me options for my dogs nail clipping anxiety that no other vet had eve mentioned, I will continue to make the drive.
We had to take our 9 week old puppy in for a emergency vet appt after she got really sick. The staff was very nice and easy to deal with. They took great care of our baby! Within a couple hours of getting home so was back to normal. We were also very pleased with the pricing. Would definitely recommend them!
Everyone was so sweet and patient, and did a great job of keeping us informed every step of the way! We had an emergency situation and they are BUSY between so many patients and all the time consuming coronavirus protocol. We were out in the parked car for nearly 6 hours, start to finish, but the staff kept everything running smoothly and had answers to any potential question before we even thought to ask it. We havent been taking our pets to the vet this year because we didnt feel it was worth the risk for a healthy pet, but we felt so safe well be making appointments for checkups as soon as we recover financially from todays emergency.
We needed to find a new vet when ours retired. After trying 3 different places, we chose West Park. They are caring and thorough. When I had to choose euthanasia recently for my elderly cat, they were professional and compassionate. When my younger cat had an allergy, they treated it quickly without doing a lot of unnecessary and expensive tests. I highly recommend them.
Ive been living in this neighborhood for over 15 years - West Park Animal Hospital has taken care of all my dogs & cats that entire time. Ive always been treated well, and they seem to take great care in making sure my little ones are comfortable when I bring them in. Theyve helped me through several deaths, 1 of them a transition in one of the exam rooms. The doctor and staff removed some of the stress of letting my little guy go while he was in my arms. I would recommend that anyone in the West Park area bring their beloved animals here for care.
Not that they have any control whatsoever over this, but I cannot wait for this covid to be under control so I can actually come into the building with my pets. We adopted two baby kittens months ago, and have yet to meet our vet in person. But talking to her on the phone and the staff that comes out to my car have been wonderful!!! it takes such good care of the animals there. And they really do care about all our animals. 💙
Every one of them acted like they were my family more importantly they acted like my cat, precious, was their family! We stumbled upon them while we were driving, and Im so very grateful that we did! That was Gods way of intervening! My Miss precious wasnt labor and the kitten she was caring was too large for her to deliver. We were about to lose her and her kitten. They took care of my precious comforted her and loved her and nurse her back to health! Unfortunately our Milo Junior did not make it he was in the birth canal for way too long and his umbilical cord had tor. He put up a strong fight for an hour, and their medical team worked on him for a very long time trying to resuscitate him! The way that they washed him off and took care of him so that we could bring him home and bury him was just simply breathtaking! Thank you so very much Dr Janelle and your team, that worked on both of my babies!
Over a year ago, my cat suddenly passed. We rushed her here and they worked swiftly and seriously. I’ll never forget for what they did for me that day. Now, I’ve adopted two kittens and they’re both receiving care from this office. I feel secure, all of my questions are answered, and I know we’re in good hands.
I understand that we didnt have an appointment but this was an emergency.Sat in the parking lot for six hours waiting for a simple examination. Was instructed not to leave the premises, so I suggest you bring a pee bottle and snacks.Around the fourth hour mark they kept calling the wrong number (home) to inform that they will be examining our dog now.Around the fifth hour mark they continue to call the wrong number and kept thinking we already had our dog. What they didnt make a mistake on was ensuring they called the correct number to get the correct credit card information. It wasnt until I had to call them again and had to put on a stern attitude for them to find my dog and bring him to our car.
Every staff member at West Park has been so compassionate and communicative. They never seem jaded or detached from their work. If you love your pets an unreasonable amount, this is the place. Prices are on the higher end of competitive but well worth it to know my fur babies are in good hands.
Love this animal hospital! I have seen them a few times for my cat Willie. We recently had to put him down and the staff were the kindest people on the planet. They were able to get me right in so my cat wouldnt suffer, explained all of my options, and were just a godsend at such a difficult time. Wonderful place and just an absolutely amazing staff.
Will not go to any other place but West Park Animal hospital. Our dog midnight got pyometra surgery done at another Vet Clinic and she wasnt doing good at all. They didnt seem too interested in taking her back to check up on her, so we rushed her to west park and they gave Midnight the best treatment ever and saved our dog that was nearing toward death. Very knowledgeable staff and very attentive to their customers. Highly recommend!
I called a head of time to confirm I could bring my cat in for a walk in appointment at 12:30 today, no wait time mentioned over the phone. It was not until 6pm that myself and my now traumatized cat got home without actually being seen by a veterinarian in the clinic. Not only did I have to sit in my car for 5 hours, since I apparently wasn’t allowed to leave and come back, but every time I would call to ask for an update I received no help, just a “sorry it’s busy today” and every single time I was told there were 4 people a head of me. I don’t understand how within the span of 5 hours that number never changed. When I arrived and throughout the time I was there, I was never told about a potential 5 hour wait. There was no reason my cat should’ve had to sit in a cage for 5 hours and not be seen by a veterinarian. Later on, I also was then told that due to it getting close to emergency hours (since I’d been kept waiting so long) that I would be charged as such, despite the fact that I came in long before those hours began. Finally I called again to ask to get my cat back and go home. Another 35 minutes go by, and I have to call again to ask someone to bring him out to me. I would have been sitting there for at least another 2 hours if I had not chosen to go somewhere else. The system set up to account for covid seemed well thought out, but the issue at hand seems far more like a staffing issue in regard to veterinarians on hand. A warning in advance about wait times would also go a long way.
We had a very positive experience at West Park Animal Hospital. Veterinarian Borys Pakush was extremely knowledgeable and explained my dog’s health issue and treatment clearly and in detail. Also, the staff members I interacted with were friendly and they navigated COVID-19 protocols efficiently. They seem to have a good system going. Finally, My dog used to be very anxious going to the vet. She was a lot more calm this time and everyone handled her with such care and concern. Since we moved from the east side of town, we needed a new local vet. We are so glad we chose west park and look forward to continuing to go there for our dog’s needs.
Good place to go for an emergency when no one else is open. We were the only ones in the lobby when we arrived, but still waited in the lobby for at least 45 minutes before someone finally came to take us to a room. But instead of them examining my cat there with me present so I could ask questions, they wanted to take him to the vet in the back. I refused as he was already traumatized enough and we didnt get even know what wear wrong. Another 30-45 passed before very finally came to see him. The diagnosis was accurate (as it was confirmed later by regular very), but overall I was very displeased.I should say that this happened a while back, but only just now got around to adding narrative. Apparently, if a friends experience is anything to go by, I was smart to have refused to let my cat out of my sight.
I am sitting in my car after 3 hours and 50 minutes. I realize I didn’t have an appointment, but this is crazy! My poor pup was hurting, so I did the emergency visit. I have seen the entire parking lot empty twice. Had to ask someone for an update. Was told new Doctors just now coming on duty, so they’ll catch up quick. Can’t believe it! I’ve been bringing my cat and dog here for many years. This will definitely be my last visit here. Lord knows what the bill will be! So long, Dr. Kari, thanks for your good care over the years!Francine Bea
The care my cat received was excellent. I understand this hospital is an emergency facility, but it would have appreciated a call at 45 minutes telling me what was happening with my cat. I was told it would be 45 minutes unless an emergency came in. I spent more on my cat then Ive spent on myself when going to the hospital.
I have to drive half an hour to take my pets here but its worth it. They are thorough, explain everything very well, including tests needed and why, medicines being prescribed and why. They are significantly less costly than my previous vet. Their hours are so convenient. Their COVID protocols are to be commended.
My daughter was eating grapes and I wasn’t sure if my dog got any. There was a wait at all the other vets. They wouldn’t take her right away. So, I went to Westpark and they took my dog right away and induced vomiting. They explained everything in detail. Steps to follow. The people were extremely nice. No one was rude. They are very understanding and made my dog a priority.I recommend!
I was so pleased with the communication I received while my dog Keno was there. My poor boy has been through so much. He was there for a few days having an emergency surgery. They even texted me pictures of him while he was there. I feel they really care for their pet “patients”. They explained everything very well and comforted me during this hard time. Thank you for everything!
Be warned!! First off, be ready to wait.... and wait. Then be ready for confusion as no one knows whats going on, Even with an appointment. Been going here for years now. They used to be great but not the last few times!!! Just recently our dog had surgery there and after 4 days ended up with a terrible infection. We had to take him to a emergency vet. After looking him over they ask what medications did they put him on. We showed them the receipt and they were shocked that no antibiotics were prescribed. They also said for that size of incision they used the improper stitch method!! They had to put him back under and redo all of the stitches, put him on a heavy does of antibiotics.West Park animal hospital should be paying for this bill.... we will never go here again!! Im so disappointed and angry right now!! This makes me sick! Im writing this review because my fiance is in tears and sick to her stomach.
After coming here a couple months ago for a different pet and sitting in my car for over 4 hours I was hesitant to come back. But my pet really needed to see someone and after calling 6 different vets in the area we couldn’t get an appointment until mid October so we had no choice. Plus I figured it’s been a few months since they’ve opened with the Covid protocols so they must have their stuff in order by now and it won’t be so bad. And I was wrong. I’ve been bringing my pets here for the last few years as walk-in/emergency visits and I never used to wait more than 1.5 hours. I know emergencies come first which is fine and expected but there’s no excuse for having to sit in a car for 5+ hours especially with no update. The infuriating part is watching several employees (the same ones) come out to smoke and talk on their phones for 15 minutes at a time multiple times while we were sitting there. Then when you call to get an update you have to sit on hold for half an hour just to get through to someone who then gives you attitude. Once I did speak to someone we waited some more and I finally called them back in tears because I had worked all day and then sat in my car for hours and still had a family and a house to take care of when I got home and a sick pet I was worried about on top of it. Magically when I called that time the doctor had just taken my pet back and then I got a call about 15 minutes later from the doctor letting me know what was wrong. I don’t know what the issue is here any more, but we will not be back. I thought the first time was a fluke but I guess this is the new normal here. I would rather spend my hours driving to a vet somewhere who will help me in a timely matter without all the attitude than sitting in my car begging for assistance.
My cat wasnt using the restroom and was howling in pain, gnawing at where it pees. They said it was an emergency and took my cat in before other cars that were in the parking lot prior to my arrival, which was appreciated. I also did not have a carrier so they let me use theirs. I waited in my car for 3.5 hours before receiving an update and had to call Twice which was very frustrating. I would have rathered my cat be in the car with me and not alone in a box inside waiting. That being said it was very affordable and the vet was very nice and my cat is doing and feeling SO much better!! I am very thankful that they took him in last minute and helped him back to normal health :)
I have always loved the care provided at WPAH, either scheduled or emergency. Our pets have never gone wrong under their care. The staff are friendly, kind, and compassionate and you could not ask for a more knowledgeable set of veterinarians. If I had any qualms at all with the service it would simply be that they are among the more expensive i have used locally. I chalk this up to you get what youre paying for, youre getting top quality health care for your animal and that is very important; it is unfortunate that sometimes we have to make decisions for our animal friends because of our budgets.
They took excellent care of our cat today. Took him in this morning with a bleeding toe bean, his care was speedy and well-priced. Had to take him back less than 12hrs later because the bleeding hadnt stopped as expected, and they saw him quickly again and also didnt charge the second visit. Very happy to have such a wonderful 24hr vet so close to home.
I have come here 2x for emergency service. They reacted fast and everyone was more than friendly. We recently brought one of our newborn husky puppies in because mama bit the cord off wrong and the cord would not stop bleeding. I called Medvet west and they told me there would be a 4 hour wait time. Which was insane considering it was an emergency. But! We came back to Westpark animal hospital and the puppy was treated correctly and is now doing great ❤️❤️Thank you again!!
They are so kind, and compassionate. This is my go to clinic. They take such good care of my cat who has chronic health conditions. Theyre always happy to answer my calls and keep me updated. Theyre seriously the best. There was a vet tech who came out to my car to administer a pill for him when I couldnt do it properly. I called and she just came out and helped me. I cant say enough.
We really can’t emphasize how amazing this whole team has been with our late Max. Every step of the way, the vets thought on their feet for a safe and inexpensive way to keep Max healthy. He lived to be nearly 15, and passed peacefully under the care of Dr. Rebecca. She was so kind, considerate, and supportive during the last few months, spending time answering questions and adjusting medications as Max’s needs changed. We really could not be more satisfied and grateful for the services of West Park Animal Hospital.
I only gave this place a 4-star rating because of covid-19 I had to wait for almost three hours while my pet was inside the building and I had to wait in the parking lot in my car. I know its not their fault but thats the only thing that made this visit unpleasant. Other than that the staff and the doctor took care of my little baby boy, Pants and I knew that he was in good hands. Also, the price was not as bad as I thought it would be! Thats always a bonus! Thank u West Park hospital for taking care of my little boy
If I could a million stars I could! Our 6 month lab ate one of my undergarments and I instantly called them when they opened. They got him in right away and acted promptly getting out the article of clothing without needing any surgery. The vet was amazing and was so sincere and heart felt. We now know Where we will be taking Charlie from now on! On top of that prices were beyond reasonable. If you are looking for a vet please come here!!
Please make the check in and check out process faster. I dont mind waiting to be checked in, but it was really frustrating that you didnt bring out the animal for 40 minutes after I finished talking with the doctor. Cats are sensitive to stress and new environment. Please make the process a little smoother. But overall, we appreciate your professional support and everything that you do to take care of us. This is a hard time for everyone and we are glad we received the help we needed.
We had a very good experience helping our epileptic dog cross the rainbow bridge with Dr. James. He was genuinely sympathetic and showed so much compassion throughout the entire process. Honestly we probably would have hugged the guy if it werent for COVID. This is why I am giving them 2 stars instead of 1.Despite the above, we are extremely upset with West Park after they somehow failed to make the paw print we ordered. We have nothing left from our deeply loved family member and are absolutely devastated. Oops, sorry and refunding $40 doesnt come close to making amends for this. Perhaps they are short staffed, but I cant imagine what other mistakes it could lead to when it comes to emergency services or medication. Im not saying to avoid them, but proceed with caution and be on top of the staff so that they dont forget about something so significant like this for you and your family.
Its very strange to take a sick animal to the vet and unable to go in with them, but those are the times right now. West Park Animal Hospital made this strange setup very easy. Everyone who talked with me was very nice. The girl taking my info, the vet tech who came to the car to get my dog, then the vet calling me(Dr . James) to update me on what the best action plan was, and the girl who brought spray and paper towels to me bc my dog was sick in the car... every person was caring, showed compassion and concern, and I felt very satisfied with our care. Its always a bit pricey, but I knew it would be going to an emergency vet. I was here about 2 years ago with my cat and they were great them too. If you need an emergency vet, this is the place to go!
So extremely grateful for the excellent service provided at West Park Animal Hospital. I was provided with updates on my dog throughout her stay. I felt comfortable leaving her there to receive care. Dr. Pakush was absolutely excellent, and so was the entire staff. I newly switched my dog to their care on this visit and I am so happy that I did. I cannot say enough good things about this facility.
I heard someone gave up their cat because they couldn’t afford the cost of the third visit made in a short amount of time to this vet. I called because I’m trying to rescue the cat from getting put down or letting anything happen to her and just trying to help out to avoid another cat losing a home after having surgery she must be scared 🥺, but they’re saying I’ll have to take on her entire charges. I would hope if someone wishes to adopt they would consider for the life of the pet that a good loving home wants her over the financial need and at least work out a deal to save her. I haven’t gotten a response yet and I hope the hospital does the fair thing for her life.
We took out precious Nala to the ER on Sunday. The doctors and technicians were so helpful. It was a roller coaster of her symptoms but they worked very closely with her and us to get her back up and around. They kept in touch with us every step of the way. I can’t say enough about them. We will be changing vets for both of our fur babies in the very near future.
So I took my very sick ten year old dog here. I honestly was not expecting to have to put him down but long story short this is what it came down to. When i got there they knew he was in pain and barely wanted to move and just very sick. The nurse comes out and I told her they would need a stretcher or something to put him on he can barely walk and before I can even get out of the car she grabs my 90 pound Rottweiler before I can even tell her i would help carry him and she almost dropped him! Two other nurses came running over to help her when they seen this. I was in shock I was speechless i seen my poor dogs face and you could see he was in pain. This was very traumatic to see. When i went in to say my goodbyes to him it felt like all they cared about was money they made sure i made the payment before I could even see him. As we were saying bye after five minutes the vet came in and asked if we needed more time it just felt like they were very unsympathetic and rushing us to get out of there. The vet and the nurses were pretty nice for the most part and i understand its a job I just felt like they could have been more sympathetic. And the nurse that almost dropped him that was very unprofessional they should not be able to just carry them they need to bring stretchers out.
I have never in 10 years and three dogs had a bad experience with West Park, thank you for always taking the time to explain things to us. I have always felt very comfortable talking to everyone from the receptionist to the doctor. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends and family.
Had a great experience with WP Animal Hospital, they did an amazing job taking care of my pooch. He needed an emergency surgery for a sock that was stuck in his intestines and they kept me in the loop every step of the way. The also gave me several options for treatment and helped me customize the plan to work with them.
Had my indoor pug brought in for examination and vet told me he had fleas which I thought was very odd. When I asked the vet if she was sure as I haven’t noticed anything like the dog having fleas she responded with attitude. This happened about a year ago but it still bothers me to this day. Ended up just being skin irritation from allergies. I am willing to give them another chance but hoping that vet is no longer working there.
We took our 10 week old puppy for his first visit to the vet last weekend with Dr. Brendan and I couldn’t be happier with the staff at West Park Animal Hospital. Given the circumstances of social distancing, we were not able to physically go inside with our puppy but the vet took great care to call while we waited in the car to explain everything and made us feel so much better about the situation. Not only was Dr. Brendan great, but the technicians and all of the girls who were checking cars in did such a good job. I’m extremely glad we made the decision to go with West Park Animal Hospital for our vet and I look forward to continuing our service there!
We took our 10 week old puppy for her first vet visit since we adopted her. The staff was very friendly and the wait time was quick. Dr. Steve is awesome and made the whole experience great. The staff was very informational and explained everything we needed to know regarding a new puppy and how to keep her healthy. Also, they participate in/with the PetDesk app. Getting rewards for keeping your dog healthy seems like a win win!
I was there for 5 and a half hours. They were very prompt in checking me in when I arrived at 8am and they took my dog back before 830am. I heard nothing until 1230 after having to throw a fit. I asked for an update at 11am and wasnt told anything. I never saw them take my dog out to the bathroom. Was he just sitting in a cage puking on himself? Why do we need to wait in the parking lot if the doctors call us with information anyway? I live 7 minutes away. I should have been able to leave if the appointment was going to take 5.5 hours. Service was terrible. We do not plan on using this vet again, even in an emergency. We will drive the extra half hour out to north ridgeville.
Took my dog yesterday. I was freaking out. They were really sweet and compassionate. My doc was thorough, honest, and kind. She made it a point to contact my ophthalmologist that I couldnt reach to figure out the best treatment for my baby. Techs and admin staff were caring. I like this place. It does seem expensive though. I paid $100 for an eye pressure check and the eye stain to look for scratches. Seems high.Update 10/11/20: they need to figure out the administrative side/wait times and phone call holds or they will start losing customers. This is getting ridiculous now
Our visit was phenomenal. It was very busy, but everyone worked as fast as they could to care for the animals. Our dog was very well cared for, as well as myself and my questions. The vet (Jessica) was very thorough in both examining our dog and answering my questions. Thank you to everyone who helped our Zoey feel better!
There is a wait time for service - you will be encouraged to apply for a credit card while waiting and there is a rewards program for spending under parents get treats too! So use caution. Affordable wellness and health issues a bit out of reach for seniors and those on budgets.
My dog has had a couple of surgeries here to remove lumps. I dont believe we could have gotten better service anywhere. Even during this pandemic they got us in quickly. I also like that the doctors call you after a few days to check on your pet. You can really feel the compassion they have for animals.
I dont have a bad thing to say. My last visit was my 1st time there. I brought my recently adopted senior dog, Sammy. Check in was quick. We didnt wait too long in the examine room. The vet was patient and answered all my concerns. Provided good advice. I dont feel like they tried to trick me into paying for services that I did not need. I had to buy some pills for Sammy. They did the whole process in the examine room, which is great cause Sammy is excitable and there was a nervous dog in the lobby. That idea was well thought out. I will continue taking my Sammy to them.
Dr James Gand explained everything in detail to us regarding our dog’s condition. He spent a lot of time with us on the phone, did not feel rushed! I had called around to find out costs of X-rays and they were the lowest cost and could see us right away. Very happy with our visit
Wonderful careing Doctors and staff, they took my 4 week old abandon kitten in that I found and gave me all the medication and information I needed to get him on the right path to good health. I love the West Park Animal Hospital and I will continue to go there for all my pets health care needs.
One year ago my dog started getting seizures and I found this place because it was an emergency. All the Doctors here are very nice and helpful. They are so nice to my dog and my family. I will keep taking my dog to this place. They are wonderful. Thank you sooo much for helping my dog and my family.
I met the awesome staff at West Park Animal Hospital almost 10 years ago have have been given wonderful treatment as a dog owner and witnessing the careful handling of my own two dogs. They have been available during emergencies because their hours allow pets to be seen until 1 am! The staff has never failed to give my dogs and myself outstanding bedside manner treatment, care, and answering patiently all my questions and concerns. As a clinician in human services, they are great examples of caring services I strive to give to my own people clients. All the staff have listened to me, and they acknowledge by tender caring and with understanding how important my two dogs in my life.
Have been with West Park Animal Hospital since 2003 with themany rescue cats that I have had during that time to present day.I would highly recommend them to anyone with any concern fortheir animals health. They are the most compassionate, empatheticgroup you will find.
My fifteen year old dog had a tumor and could not survive. It was a Sunday, my vet was not open. The emergency vet in my area insisted I just drop my dying dog off to be put down because of the virus...I refused. I scanned the internet to find a compassionate vet and I found one at West Park Animal Hospital...nearly 50 miles from my home. They allowed me to hold my guy while they put him down...something every pet owner understands. I am so thankful for their understanding and compassion for my precious animal and for me. If you want thoughtfulness and genuine concern for your animal, then I highly recommend West Park Animal Hospital.
Where to start. Showed up on Tuesday at 7am to drop off my dog for surgery. After waiting for over 30 minutes I was told her surgery wasn’t until Thursday (today) and that I must have wrote the date down wrong. So I arrive this morning at 7:30 to drop her off. Waited for 45 minutes until they finally took her from my car. I get a voicemail at 11am asking me to call. So I call and I’m told that the receptionist made a mistake and quoted me for a feline hysterectomy....even though I’ve been bringing my dog there for the past 2 years. On the quote it clearly states it’s a canine English springer spaniel. So instead of a $385 surgery it’s now $500+ and am I ok with that? No I’m not ok with that whatsoever! So another trip back up there to get my dog because do you really think I’m going to trust any of you to touch my dog?! WOW.
My 4 month old puppy ate leaves and plants in the woods and got really, really sick. Our vet couldn’t get us in. We rushed to West Park Animal Emergency and they checked him out right away. Every individual we worked with was compassionate, caring, calming, communicated so well. They took such good care of our puppy. We were so happy we are switching both of our dogs to West Park Animal Emergency.
This was my 1st visit to West park. I took my cat, Daddy there because of urination issues. The staff was very nice and doctor Gant was extremely empathetic very knowledgable and really took the time to explain everything to me. Daddy was treated very well And I am extremely grateful for everything theyve done. I went on a Sunday during ER hours. Yes, I paid more but you get what you pay for.
I took my dog Elvis into the emergency hospital when my regular veterinarian said they couldnt see him. West Park doctors and staff were amazing. They were friendly and caring. They discussed all fees and procedures ahead of time so I could make the decision of treatment without feeling pressured. I feel comfortable calling the hospital with any questions about his medications and healing process. They take the time to listen and answer all questions. I live 30 minutes away and I would definitely continue to use them for my dogs needs. I highly recommend West Park Animal Hospital.
Recently adopted a puppy from a rescue. She is due for her 3rd set of vaccinations on the 19th. Every place I called was booked well into January. Even Westpark Animal Hospital. I eventually found a clinic that was able to accommodate me.The reason why Im giving Westpark Animal Hospital 5 stars even though I didnt use their service is because the lady I talked to took down my information and said she would talk to some vets to try and accommodate me. No other place offered this so I know that this place is quality for simply going above and beyond accommodating me and my dogs needs. If the clinic I go to doesnt fit my needs, I will for sure consider changing to this vet because I know they will take care of you.
They have been amazing! They truly care about the care they give the animals they treat. My dog had surgery to remove 2 fatty tumors and the care he received was the best. He is also not a very social dog, but they bring out the best behavior in him. I dont think Ill ever take my animals anywhere else.
My cat had a cough, turns out he needed Ab therapy. Point is, West Park Animal Hospital scheduled me promptly. This review is written during the covid situation. They had curbside check, which meant once I parked, someone came up to my window and checked me in and asked all the questions pertaining to the symptoms my cat was experiencing. Then, my cat was taken in and examined, and the doc called me with her findings. She was very thorough, clear, kind, and caring. She answered all questions kindly and with ease, and nothing felt rushed. I took are of the transaction thereafter over the phone, and out came my cat with his antibiotic. This was a splendid experience considering the times, but I am looking forward to returning to times where we can actually walk in the building :)
Within the last year I started taking my dogs to West Park, as the vet I had been using for the last 40+ years had pretty much lost all its doctors. I love all the doctors that I have dealt with and the excellent care. My main complaint is that when you call them, they put you on hold, sometimes, like this morning, for almost half an hour. I wanted to pick up some heartworm meds and some diet food for my one dog, but a vet had to call me back on what kind they recommend. I called early this morning and have not heard back from them, when I called again, they said they hadnt had a chance to get a hold of a doctor to ask. I know they are busy and if thats the case, hire more people, goodness knows the fees they charge could cover the cost. No one should have to keep calling, because their phone system cuts the caller off after about 6 rings, just to end up being put on hold for half an hour. That is the only thing that is so frustrating about this vet hospital. I understand about this virus causing a different way of doing business, but our pets are important to us, God help me if I had an emergency and couldnt get through. Hire someone to man the phones.
The vets were great and knowledgeable of what they were doing as well as a pleasant staff. Pricing seems kinda high. Spent a little over $200 for a UTI treatment early March, came back a few weeks later and got smacked with a $1,700 bill for treating a blockage that included a three night stay, then another $100 a couple days ago for a follow up that was advised by the vet. No invoice for the last visit either. Im happy to pay more for proper care, but it was an expensive past couple months.
I took my young cat as a first-time patient to the West Park Animal Hospital for an emergency visit. The care from the staff and doctors was excellent, fast, and not overly expensive. I was also impressed by how well the clinic was organized to be extraordinarily well-adapted to maintaining safe covid-protocols for the staff and pet owners.
Amazing service by all professionals at the hospital. The play by play updates by the doctor via phone call were extremely helpful and detailed - next best thing to being in the examination room! (PSA - Currently in the pandemic and unable to be in examination rooms with animals). I would recommend this hospital to any and all pet parents looking for incredible service!
My first visit today, during the craziness and uncertainty of COVID19. They were amazing! I came from another vet for a second opinion and was able to make more progress with one appointment than I have with 6 appointments over the last 2 months at the other. The staff was all so sweet despite how crazy busy they have been and Im sure its been stressful! I am so happy I made the trip today to see them.
When our sweet Luna’s medical issues turned from concerning to critical, the staff (Dr Michelle specifically) was extremely kind and compassionate. Thank you for helping us make a very difficult decision with your understanding and professionalism. If you’re looking for pet care, with staff who truly care about you and your fur family member(s), West Park Animal Hospital is the place.

After hundreds of dollars on office visitsAnd hart and fleas medication this was not right.

2022-02-27Dr. Christine and the entire staff at West Park Animal Hospital were INCREDIBLE! We had a very scary experience with our cat becoming blocked this week. We knew something was wrong with him but having no prior knowledge of cat-blocking, I called in to ask for advice. Each member of the team we spoke with was always SO kind and professional. Our cat stayed with them for days and they never failed to check in and give us a status update. You can truly feel their compassion for animals and they had an ability to make us feel comfortable throughout the whole process. I will absolutely be returning for any future veterinarian needs and I can’t recommend them enough. THANK YOU! Our sweet boy is home and doing well all because of you.

2022-02-27West Park Animal Hospital is the best around! This is our normal vet and we drive about 25 minutes to be patients here! We have been to WPAH for normal check ups, and emergencies at all hours of the day and even did an overnight monitoring here. Service is exceptional. The care they provide for the pets and people are unparalleled to any other vet we have tried. Prices are reasonable, which is only an additional positive to the care they provide. Honest, reliable and respond incredible with emergencies. I always recommend them and we will forever be clients of theirs. Grateful and blessed to have found such a phenomenal place to care for our dog! Thank you west park animal hospital! Beans loves you guys as much as we do!

2021-11-21We had a shihtzu in our family for over 10 years that had to be euthanized. We wanted to take him to the best vet in town and I could honestly say that they were it. It was so heartbreaking for us and they were all so professional. The nurses, the staff, and the doctor were so welcoming and even prepared a room for us. They walked us through every step and let us decide everything and take our time. It was our first experience with this kind of thing. I will be taking our next pets here. Highly recommend based on this experience alone.

2022-03-04My husband and I sped into the parking lot this past Saturday carrying our tiny sweet boy, Buddy, whod just been hit by a car. A technician was walking out to help another customer. All I could manage to say was please help my dog. Without a word she whisked him away and took him inside. Everyone stopped what they were doing to care for him. While they worked hard to save him, we were comforted by other members of the staff as they collected information. Despite their best efforts, our little guy did not pull through. Not only were they kind, caring and compassionate throughout the entire experience, they also took care of all of the arrangements to have him cremated. They took the time to clean him and gently swaddled him up so we could see him. They did a wonderful job helping us through an incredibly difficult time. We received Buddys ashes yesterday in a beautiful cherry wood box with his name engraved on a gold nameplate along with a clay impression of his paw print. When we arrived home, there was a hand written sympathy card in our mailbox from Dr. Natalie whod cared for him. They have gone the extra mile every step of the way and we could not be more grateful. If you are looking for somewhere that will genuinely care for you and your furry loved one, I highly recommend West Park Animal Hospital.

2022-03-02We came to west park animal hospital after leaving med vet on Brookpark who did not help us and really just was more concerned about the money than my dog being sick. we brought our dog in Monday night and the staff was amazing the doctors were also all amazing. Our dog was diagnosed with IMHA. They are well-priced and were able to tell me what was wrong with my dog and sent him home with medication for the same price. And weren’t just okay with sending him Home knowing he was very sick. The staff was very honest and caring for our dog and our feelings. They did everything they possibly could for him. Unfortunately his red blood cells got too low and unfortunately there was nothing that could be done. He was getting sicker. We had to euthanize him yesterday and it was the worst thing ever. But the hospital helped us through it and helped us give him as much love as possible and after he passed they went out of their way to give us an ink pad so we could take some paw prints and nose prints home with us. They also let us bring up his toys and blanket so he was as comfortable as possible. the pain never goes away but this hospital definitely helped us get through it. I wish I would’ve took my dog here in the first place if I could do it all over again I would. Thank you guys for taking good care of Ceasar.

2022-02-21Very caring, good prices, knowledgeable, compassionate. Honestly the first time Ive liked a veterinary office. We only went there for 2 weeks and even though I had to make the hard decision to put my baby down. They helped me feel confident that it was the best choice even though they could have milked me for thousands in hospital bills. They were very honest. I would recommend them to everyone.

2022-05-23I have spent a lot of time thinking about what to post on this one star review. TL/DR their attention to details is awful. So I brought in my (16+) elderly cat, knowing she was probably dying, as cats at that age do have kidney failure. It was. The actual vet process itself was ok, me in my sobbing state about losing my partner and friend of nearly half my life was ok. Things took a while, possibly because of business volume, and that part was ok. No real complaints there. As I had her put down, with eyes full of tears I was asked how I wanted my cat disposed of. I didnt want a fancy urn or paw print, the ashes would be great. I was hoping to scatter them somewhere, like where she enjoyed the birds and squirrels that frequent my yard.I was told, we will give you a call in a week or two when the remains are ready. Three weeks pass and I hear nothing. I have someone else call and talk to them, because Im still sad from the loss of a companion from nearly half my life and dont want to be an angry a-hole. I know that if I talk to them its going to be a stream of swear words and crying.Im told oops, we dont know where your cats remains ended up. Let us look into it.Long story short no idea where my cat ended up. No idea if cremated or thrown away. So many Im sorrys.I got a PARTIAL refund (20%) and a boquet of flowers to remind me of the eff-up. They told my contact that they could provide me with the address of their burn pile if I wanted closure. Your cat may or may not be there, but you can mourn there if you would likeIf they treat their live patients with the same detail they treat their dying, lawyer up!
