We have been taking our pups here for several years and have not had a bad experience until yesterday. Ill start with the fact that carside service is the only option- my dogs get anxiety and its upsetting for me that I cant be there with them. As for the actual appointment, Dr. Wright didnt tell me much about my dogs health and instead launched into a dissertation about how I need to schedule a dental visit to have him sedated and his teeth polished ($$$) I had to basically interrupt her to ask if he was otherwise healthy. He also needed his ears cleaned and flushed, which they performed but neglected to tell me hed come out smelling like a gallon jug of vinegar... The worst part of the whole experience was them walking him out next to a busy road with his harness halfway off. If he wasnt such a well behaved dog this could have ended horribly. If the only offering is carside service, then the vet techs need to ensure pets are being properly secured before walking them out. Finding a new dogtor ASAP
West Chester Vet Center is my favorite!I’ve been to so many places over the years and resorted to the emergency vet most of the time because I could not find someone I could rely on to be honest or show genuine care for my babies. I finally tried West Chester Vet and I couldn’t be happier. I’ve had many surgeries for one of my dogs and they are always caring and upfront about all cost and even look out for me on ways to save. I always get a call from the doctor personally which is really assuring and shows there’s genuine care. I think no matter where I live I will always come to you for my routine care needs. I can’t thank everyone enough.EVERY person has always been so kind and it means the world to me and my babies! Thank you WCVC!
My dog was Neutered at this facility and my daughter told them that she didnt want to have the dogs teeth removed at the time. They came out to the car and the tech said okay I will circle it to take it off. They took his teeth out anyway. They saw in the notes from previous that she also stated she wasnt going to have them removed at the time because all I had was 350. They called with a 500 dollar bill for my dog and everyone stated that they did what was best for my dog but I was paying the bill. Upon going back and forth with them I discovered that they were charging me for the dog being Neutered and it was paid for already by the seller of the dog. The doctor knew that previously we did everything recommended but seeing how we have spent more than 5 thousand dollars to keep him alive. We have to prioritize certain things. We asked for his medical records and left the practice. The irony is they recently sent a letter dropping my puppy after we had already left. I wouldnt recommend this place. I am in the process of reporting them because they performed several procedures on my dog without my consent. I am the only legal owner and theyre holding up my medical claims for failure to submit information.
Really disappointed with our experience. We had used this place in the past to board our dog with no issue. We booked him in again this time as I was going into the hospital to have a baby. Scheduling his visit was fine. Easy! I let them know we may need to extend his stay as obviously with labor and delivery things arent exactly cut and dry in terms of timeline. We originally were supposed to pick up on the Sunday but on Saturday we knew we wouldnt be discharged in time so my husband called on the Saturday and told them we needed to extend. On Sunday I received a call to say we would be charged $60~ if we didnt pick up before 6pm on the Sunday. I called back and was hung up on. Called back again and explained we needed to extend and that my husband had called to say that the day before. Anyway, fast forward to the day we picked up. We had asked his nails be trimmed, that was evidently not done as hes still clicking on our hardwood floor. There was no receipt given for the visit so Im not sure if we paid for a nail trim or not, but it had been requested. Its been 4 days since he left and he has had diarrhea every single day. We are now waiting on our regular vet to give us a diagnosis on why he is ill. I emailed wcvc days ago and have received zero response. We have a newborn to take care of and now a dog that is crying every 2 hours during the night because he needs to go outside. Your service was poor and my dog left the facility with some kind of illness. Absolutely unacceptable and we certainly wont be trusting you with his care in the future.
My puppy had been sick for 5 days, and rapidly losing weight. Our old vet was closed, not helpful & “trying a few things to see how it went” I called WCVC and they were able to make room and see her ASAP. Their drop off service is helpful and fast. They did testing right away and were able to determine the problem. Within an hour and a half she got tested, medications and was back at home resting. They were incredibly helpful, accommodating and professional. They didn’t make me feel bad about asking for prices and information ahead of time. The vet didn’t assume I knew everything. She was nice, calm and explained everything in detail. Would definitely recommend bringing your pet here. TYSM for taking care of our baby Nami! It was a bit expensive but we’ll worth it.
I am very new the area and need a vet for my pets. I looked online and they were the first vet that came up. So there other day I called and spoke to a very nice guy Michael, who was so friendly and personable. I told him I was worried about the car side only service and he assured me they give the highest level of care to all pets, as well as the long list of services they provide. After he answered me 1,000 questions I was sold. After my appointment I was just as happy. They are super friendly, fast, and efficient. Seems alot of places struggle with car side service, but they have a great system. If you need a new vet I would recommend them to anyone.
This past Sunday I had to have my elderly cat euthanized to end her suffering. Since our normal vet doesnt have weekend hours we had to look for an alternative place. They were very kind and compassionate and helped us through this terrible process. I am very thankful for the care we received.
Unfortunately, you cannot give a business 0 stars. We have been very loyal customers for the last 6 years. Throughout this time, I have become wary of the vet for a variety of reasons, from high prices to questionable recommendations, to an overall feeling that our pets best interest was not their priority; recently, all of these things were confirmed once and for all.On a Friday at 4pm (they close at 6pm), our small dog got into brownies. When I found him, I called the vet immediately, only to find that their phone number was not working. Knowing the urgency with chocolate ingestion, I drove to the vet with the dog. I explained what had happened, and after making me wait 15 minutes, they told me they were too booked and would need me to go to medvet emergency. I could not believe my ears. At this point, it had been > 40 minutes since the ingestion, and they were recommending I go ~45 minutes away. FYI, when I called medvet, they instructed me to induce vomiting from home (because they are a legitimate vet, whose first priority is your pets health).West Chester Vet Center cares about one thing: collecting your money. They do not care about your pet. Avoid this business.
We took our Great Pyrenees to West Chester Veterinary Center on a Sunday afternoon (during Covid restrictions) and were very pleased with their service. Sassy was taken inside and examined in a timely manner. A Vet Tech came outside to explain Sassys situation and asked for permission to treat. The pricing was very reasonable, especially since it was a Sunday, and we were very pleased with the care. I highly recommend this Veterinary Hospital, even though Im not a regular client.
What can I say! They are amazing! They have some of the nicest receptionist, their techs are incredible, and the Drs well they are wonderful especially Dr Mary! They clinic Chihuahua running around is adorable! You can tell the staff here truly loves animals, and they all love their jobs. And all of that shows in the care and service they provide.
We started with this practice on the second day we brought our new puppy, Winston, home more than two years ago. As a first time dog owner, they made me feel confident that he was well taken care of. When we got a second dog, Jet, a year later, they welcomed him with open arms as well. Weve always received good care (everything from basic exams/shots through neutering surgery). Weve used the centers grooming and boarding services as well - very happy with everything! The staff is always friendly and the doctors treat our dogs with care and respect.
Really annoyed with the scheduling of this place. We called to make an appointment for our new dog. They had a cancellation so of course we jumped on the first appointment they had available. We drove an hour to get there just for them to tell us that our appointment was for two weeks away and that they had nothing available. So we drove an hour for an appointment they didn’t schedule right. The front desk lady was nice that we talked to, But it sucks when you load up a new puppy and your family to make an hour drive for them not to care.
This vet clinic is AWFUL! Do NOT take your pets here! They charge way too much money for a simple checkup and have the worst grooming I have ever seen. I dropped off my dog for grooming and called because he was there for 7 hours, which is a ridiculous amount of time to take to groom a non-shedding dog. When I called, the groomer told me that he was the second dog in line and that they havent even started on him yet. That was the last straw for me, and I will never go back to this place. They also charge $60 for a simple checkup which is outrageous and the vets have no idea what they are going. I took my dog in because he had severe allergies and instead of giving me medication, they simply told me to change his diet. Would NOT recommend this vet. We also had to wait 30 minutes even though we made an appointment a week in advance. Pure incompetence. If I could give this place negative stars, I would.
We were referred to West Chester Veterinary Center from PetsMart when we got our dog. They were so friendly and helpful with our new puppy and shared great information with us. Would totally recommend. They also offered several pricing points with no pressure for services, which I appreciated! Only reason I gave a 4 star review is because of Covid, I couldnt go in and didnt see the office area personally. Felt I should to give it 5 stars...
We only had a couple visits that seemed to be informative although we were suspicious of their claim to disinfect after every pet. There was black dog hair all over the floor and chairs we sat on. We decided to never go back after they broke their own policy of notification of an appointment cancellation. My daughter made a 40 minute round trip but they cancelled her appointment without notice. If they are not caring, respectful and courteous to humans, I suspect they do not have those qualities for animals.
I have two older cats and theyre extremely accommodating to make urgent appointments when things happen. Theres nothing worse than having to wait when your animal is sick or something urgent is needed. Very caring techs and vets Who are actually concerned for the health and well-being of your animals. A pretty great place.
The best vet experience Ive had! My new kitten was having an eye issue and they were able to see him right away! They also had options ready just in case they werent able to fit us in quickly, which I appreciated. Very friendly, informed staff that were all able to thoroughly explain to us what issue my kitten has. It was nice to see how much they care!As for the price, very reasonable! I definitely recommend this place!
I brought my dogs here for services just recently. One I brought here for grooming, and the other got his annual vaccines and diagnostic tests done. I was super pleased with this clinic all around. They treated my pets just like their own. Every employee showed me kindness and comfort as I was very nervous with my fur babies being put into what can be a very stressful situation. I am pleased with every service in which I received and will continue to bring the pets here.
We brought in Max to have a to nail looked at that he was licking a lot. The technician checked him out and the trimmed his nails. She was really sweet and Max felt at ease with her. We have been going to West Chester Vet Center for over 7 years now. They always nice and great with our dogs. I would recommend anyone to take their pet to them.
Noah’s Arc Animal Clinic does a great job every time I come in. I brought my puppy in and they were fast and the vet and the assistants were gentle on my puppy and provided care to her even at a discount. I will add her to the Wellness Plan here soon which I have for my older dog and it is a must!! It saves me so much money any time I bring him to the vet and I don’t have to pay any extra out of pocket most of the time.
The doctors, vet technicians and office staff at WCVC are all consistently friendly, caring, and knowledgeable. They relate extremely well to pets, as well as to people. I started taking my 2 dogs to them about 3 years ago, and every contact with their office since has been a positive experience, despite illness. One of my pets had to be euthanized, and the doctors and techs involved were extremely caring and sensitive-they made it such a peaceful experience for Maizey and my family.I highly recommend the doctors and staff at West Chester Vet Center to everyone! They are great people and a great business to deal with!
This center is staffed by caring, competent people who are devoted to care of their clients pets. They are forthcoming with information shared during the visit. Their prices are competitive and they offer discounts to veterans. This is the right place to look after my dog’s health needs.
The W.C. Vet Center is the best. Excellent medical care for our dogs. Friendly staff, and always welcoming when we use their boarding facilities. We always feel our pets are in good hands when we bring them here. Look no farther for first rate animal care in Butler County.
Extremely competent and caring veterinarians--all Ohio State Vet School grads--one of the top vet schools in the U.S. The center provides not only excellent medical care, but also top-quality boarding and grooming. I have taken my dogs to vets there since the center opened and recommend it highly.
I took my puppy Josie to see West Chester Vet Center many times. In the beginning when they were just giving her her puppy shots, everything was fine. However, when we started having some health issues they didnt seem interested in finding out what was wrong. I took her to the office three times this summer and complained every time regarding her continued runny nose. At no point did they develop a plan to figure it out or even follow up to see if what they suggested worked. They acted as if they were annoyed when I called them. As if they were saying to themselves, Its Josies mom, again. You will spend most of your time with the vet techs, they charge more than other vets, they dont care to figure out what the issue is when youre dog is sick, and they only want to really do new puppy shots. Once the puppy shots are finished their level of care is zero.I strongly urge you to find a different vet. Mason Family Pet on Reading Rd is my new vet and they are wonderful. I highly recommend them.
We have experienced nothing but caring and compassionate treatment when taking our girl in for treatment.West Chester Veterinary Clinic is highly recommended.Thank you for taking the time to recognize how important pets are to our family unit.Ray & Dona CombsLebanon, Ohio
I have seen some negative reviews on here but I want to review this clinic. We had a terrible experience purchasing a beautiful 8 week puppy that we fell in love with upon seeing him. Unfortunately within 1 day of having this puppy, his behavior started changing. So we call this clinic got him in earlier than his Tuesday appointment, and they did all types of tests for him. Loved him. Cared for him. Were mad at the company who sold us this puppy along with us. This staff has been nothing but nice to us in this most difficult time and they feel our heartaches. Thanks so much for showing him as much love he deserved before he goes up to doggy heaven.
We have been there several times. We have used all your services---boarding, grooming and vet visits. We have always received excellent. care. Our dog Shadow completely loves you, even when we pass the building she gets excited--pacing back and forth in the back seat and wagging her tail. We have never felt rush. They completely explain treatment before and during and offer suggestions. I am so glad that we found you. Please keep up the good work. Thanks so much for caring for our Shadow!
Ive been coming to the West Chester Vet Center for the past 6 months. Our puppy Finn has been very well taken care of. The staff is very helpful and always ready to help. I also had Finn groomed there and the service was outstanding. The fees are very reasonable and they are open late. I highly recommend the West Chester Vet Center.
This happened a couple years ago but since they solicited my feedback through my email I figured I would tell everyone why we switched vets. We went on a two-week vacation out of the country. We checked up on our dogs that were boarded here via email and they said they were doing great. When we picked them up my 12 pound yorkie lost 4 pounds and my 10 pound Maltese lost 3 pounds. I could feel their ribs they were so thin. I felt terrible and I have not boarded my pets anywhere since. I get that dogs go on hunger strikes due to stress, but this should have been addressed. They didn’t even notice. I bet my dogs weren’t even pet or played with, otherwise their condition would have been obvious. There are plenty of other veterinarians and boarding facilities in the area, avoid this one at all costs.
Id give a zero if possible! Our two pound chihuahua had kennel cough. This was the vet the store we bought her from said to take her to have her guarantee certified. The staff was aware of her kennel cough as Id taken her to an emergency vet already and told them. She was deteriorating and I called as soon as they opened to get her in and they wanted me to drop her off to be kenneled until a doctor could see her. I refused, went back to the emergency vet where she got more meds. She continued to get worse. She was lethargic, wouldnt eat or drink and was struggling to breathe. The owner wouldnt allow anyone else to see her and made us wait five hours for an appointment. The owner was late showing up for the appointment time. She wasnt even on site! Our puppy almost died and had to have three days of nebulizer treatments, special food and more medicines to survive. Once we completed the treatments we left the practice and will never set foot in there again. Worse vet Ive ever been to!
We have been going to this vet for over a year now. Usually friendly staff and good prices. However, I was calling to give them a heads up that we would be 10 minutes to 15 minutes late, to make sure thry would still see our dog. They said it would not be ok because it would interfere with other appointments. Any dr. I have ever been to allows up to 15 minutes being late. A vet from my previous experience was the same. Since i could not be there at the exact time of the appointment, they counted it as a missed appointment and said they would need to keep my credit card on file to charge me the next time i do it. Sadly, it makes me feel like I need a new vet to go to. Its not like Ive ever missed an appointment or was ever late before. It was only going to be 10 minutes. I did give them a 2 star instead of one because most of them have been friendly in the past. Our dog just had 8 puppies too and was going to take them to this vet. :(Response to your response. I originally called to see if we could come in 10 to 15 minutes late. The receptionist went to check with the veterinarian and they said no, that it would interfere. So I tried to reschedule but you guys said i cant unless i give you my credit card. Im sorry it hallens to you way too often. However if you have a loyal customer like us, that it was a one time in well over a year. Perhaps you should take that into consideration. Its not like I wanted to be late or reschedule. I understand you are in it to make money and if someone doesnt show up it is a loss, just like any business. However, being 10 minutes late is hardly considered a no show. Should I have just shown up 10 minutes late and took the chance or give a courtesy call asking if 10 minutes is too late?
I brought my dog in on a Sunday two weeks ago for a minor infection. Everyone was nice but I ended up waiting 1.5 hours to see the vet due to other more serious issues with other animals. I get that and didnt have anywhere else to be so I waited patiently. My pup finally saw the vet and the care seemed good but the $325.00 estimate for a small infected area on his tail seemed outrageous! After going through the estimate thoroughly, many of the items could come off such as pain meds (he wasnt in any pain), a biopsy (hes 12.5 yrs old and his breed has a life span of 10-12 years), an X-ray, etc., etc., Anyway, they also wanted to charge me nearly $100.00 for an antibiotic. After a quick search on the web, I found the same medication for $.49/unit opposed to the $3.47/unit they wanted to charge me. They argued that companies outside of the country might not be selling the real medication so I found a reputable company here in the USA with the same med at a fraction of the cost, they still refused to price match despite telling me that they price match. I ended up with a different antibiotic that worked just fine. Fast forward two weeks and I brought my dog in for a follow up visit to make sure the spot was healing. The vet literally looked at his tail and said He looks great. Thats it. On my way out, they charged me $30.00 for the visit!!!! Are you serious? $30.00 for less than two minutes?????? I dont know what has changed in the administration/billing/vets but what used to be a good experience, no longer is. We wont be back.
Place is horrible. Never got to talk to the vet. They walked my puppy in and came out with a $160 receipt. Wouldn’t trim the dogs nails for free.Sat in parking lot for an hour and 20 minutes. Felt like I was going to a personal doctors appointment. This place is in business because of Petland. Crooked operation!
The friendliest office with great doctors that go out of their way to help your pet. I have 4 dogs and I would not take them anywhere else because we get the best care there. The fact that they have emergency care I never need to worry about taking my dogs anywhere else. Thank you West Chester Vet Center for always taking good care of us Buck, Kash, Boo and Jake.
We love and appreciate West Chester Vets! When our cat Malcolm became ill we admitted him to WC Vet for three days of inpatient treatment. They treated him so well, and werent bothered at all when we came to visit Malcolm each day or called to check on him. At the follow up visit the doctor was just as pleased with Malcolms progress and improvement as we were, and I could hear the excitement in her voice when she called to let us know his lab work had much improved. The staff are always friendly, responsive and understanding of what both the pet and the parents are going through. We highly recommend WC Vet. 😊
I highly recommend West Chester Veterinary Center for all pet services. They have friendly Doctors and assistants, which makes ever visit a pleasant experience. In addition, the person who does the grooming services is very good. Ive taken my Labradoodle to the groomer several times and she does an excellent job!
From waiting for 20 plus minutes on hold to not calling in prescriptions to not knowing what is going on. The doctors are good, and the nurses are nice, but the front desk staff is moronic and will ensure I never visit this place again. Finally, as other reviewers have said, they want to run a bunch of no reason other than money tests. For a place that makes so much by ripping folks off, Id have thought they could hire competent front desk staff. There are a bunch of places around and some are just plain out scary, but some are amazing. This one in particular is just over priced and incompetent. Be careful bringing your animal into the tiny rooms, if the claustrophobia doesnt get them the dust bunnies will. Oh, and usually, they just send you somewhere else after charging an extraordinary amount for virtually no help. Oh just give him some of this, all good! really? Shady, greedy, incompetent. Ive never been so disgusted by a vet. Update: I bought a puppy from Petland and was supposed to have free care for his ongoing stomach problems, but because of my treatment of the staff and because I wrote this review they wont see me. I wrote it this morning and the treatment was stopped later this afternoon. Theyd rather go troll their Google review page than help animals. What a pathetic practice. Another edit: I got my pet records letter in the mail. They noted that I yelled at my pet for biting, which I presume they heard on the phone and stated that the new vet should be cautious. I wasnt yelling at my new puppy, thanks. Your letter about me not speaking to your staff appropriately was very informative. Thanks, mom/dad. Also, I wont bother bringing in your paper work to my new and competent vet because you didnt do anything for my puppy except charge me, which is incredible considering I was to have free items from your deal with Petland, whom I will notify of your atrocious lack of talent and humanity.
Beware, this clinic will try to charge you for things that they’ve not done. Way too expensive compared to other clinics. I will be looking for a new clinic ASAP. Very slow service, be prepared to spend forever no matter the reason you’re there. I boarded my dog & they charged me for something I did not get ($47) and now my dog has an eye infection & I suspect worms given he’s scooting ( which he never does). Don’t waste your time & money like I have. Run for the door!
Do not take your dog here if it is anything urgent! My dog has been unable to walk on his rear leg for 48 hours. We are newly established at this vet and the soonest they offered to get us in to see the vet is 7 days from now. That is a long time for a dog that can’t walk and is in obvious pain! They did not offer to get us in sooner if there is a cancellation or to see if the vet would approve squeezing us in, between other appointments. They acted like it didn’t matter what is wrong with your dog, acuity isn’t a factor, they will just get you in at the next available time...injuries and getting vaccines update have the same urgency. The only reason I didn’t give a 1 star review is because Dr. Blackmore was excellent at diagnosing and treating my other dog that had been dealing with a chronic issue.
I would highly recommend West Chester Veterinary Center. They always take amazing care of my pup, Killian. Dr. Krendl is our favorite, because she is so extremely knowledgeable and takes the time to always talk things through with me. And Emily is absolutely wonderful! I know how loved Killian is when he is in her care. I truly appreciate all they do at WCVC!
Have had a good experience with normal shots. Seems like we spend more time with the vet tech than the vet and that some of the vet techs are really pushy toward trying to get you to buy from them. Prices are high compared to buying the medications through pet meds and when you try to order online they call and offer to match the price. Tonight they gave us an estimate of what it would cost for medications and the final bills was nearly 30% more than the estimate. Will be looking for a new vet.
Staff has been great and our dogs love boarding there. We have been here for more than 2 years now and havent had any issues. They know one of our dogs are pet aggressive and ensure when we arrive that there will be a room we can get into right away and make sure there are no other animals around to make it easy on us to get in.
Absolutely outstanding!I awoke this morning to witness my 5 year old beloved dog Baxter had a serious eye infection. After a quick Google search I became very alarmed as I perused through multiple accounts of dogs becoming blind due to similar looking afflictions. So the search for a clinic open on Sunday began. Then the horror set back in as I read review after review condemning local facilities as overpriced but worse uneffective. Then I found this place. They were able to get me an appointment in less than 2 hrs which was nice. The front desk staff was friendly and quickly ushered us into a room. The dog nurse was very polite and knowledgeable while she assessed our situation. The Vet was a friendly woman who obviously took great interest in our situation. She place drops in Baxters eyes to make sure there wasnt a scratch which would have changed her prognosis. After verifying to topical damage she provided us with eye drops, care instructions, and even provided pointers for us while administering the medicine at home.My concerns where put to bed and Baxter and I were on our way home in less than an hour from the appointment time; the bill $79.I can say this place is the very best I have ever been to and will be back, hopefully not ;-), regardless of whether it is an after hours emergency or not.The owners of this place should be proud of what they have, outstanding facilities, and a knowledgeable, caring staff.10 stars!
The vets are nice enough but communication is very poor. I have had issues each time that I call to set up and find out what my pet needs in regards to his vaccines. I was told that they needed to see him that week to have his boosters done or he would have to start the process over. I brought him that week but when I got to the vet they told me that he would have to start over which meant additional time and expense. Miscommunication has happened twice with this vet. Cant say that any of my experiences have been pleasent so far. I will give them one more opportunity to keep my business but so far dissatisfied.
Went here because it had good reviews when I needed to find out why my dog was so itchy. Though they did help me I did not like their practice. I saw the assistant most of the time and the Dr for like 5 mins. The assistant was more like a sales person telling me I needed over $300.00 worth of services and continued to push when I said I couldnt afford to do it all at one time. She was very rude and far too pushy and disrespectful. Still walked out paying over $200. I later found another veterinarian that I now love and never acts like a sales person
I highly recommend West Chester Vet Center to anyone considering them. Not only does our standard poodle receive excellent medical care (life-saving care, more on that in a minute) but he *loves* this place. In the past, my dogs always knew when they were going to the vet, and got freaked out. Our dog cannot contain his excitement when we pull in the parking lot. The staff all knows him, and treats him like their own pet. In addition to the bed-side manner, they literally saved his life recently with emergency surgery. Someone stayed by his side throughout surgery and all night as he recovered. Were extremely satisfied with WC Vet Center.
I would give zero stars if that were an option!! Absolutely disgusted at the lack of compassion we witnessed. We have been taking our cat here for YEARS. Friday, he suddenly became ill, and we were concerned that his end of life was near. We called at noon visibly upset, described our cats symptoms and we were told we are not accepting any more drop offs today! We pushed further and the Dr even confirmed they were not taking any more for the day. This was at NOON, our cat has been a patient at your center for YEARS and was dying before our eyes. We were sent away from OUR Vet to find another. We ended up spending 5 hours with our cat at Noahs Ark before we had to say goodbye. They got us in right away, ahead of others who were waiting. They understood. Noahs Ark was wonderful, compassionate, patient, thorough, and took wonderful care of our family during this hard time. SHAME ON YOU!!!!!
ZERO stars! On Sunday, May 17th, I arrived at West Chester Veterinary Center for emergency services with my dog, Lyla, who was ill and lying down in the cargo area of my SUV. I arrived around 11:30AM and called them upon my arrival (COVID-19 protocol per the signs posted on front entrance). I explained Lyla’s status to the woman who answered, stating that “I don’t know what’s wrong with her but she has a fast heart rate, doesn’t want to move and I think she’s trying to die on me.” Without anyone even bothering to triage Lyla, the woman on the phone proceeds to tell me that they are unable to accept Lyla as an emergency patient because they’ve “already had a couple emergency patients this morning and are fully booked with routinely scheduled appointments. We have no more hands on deck.” We were flat out refused emergency care. The lady then referred me to two other emergency veterinarians who were both approximately 25 minutes away.I proceeded to drive to Med Vet on Red Bank Road, per WC Veterinary Center’s recommendation. Upon arrival, my sweet girl was dead.It turns out that Lyla had a cancerous tumor in her stomach that had ruptured earlier that morning, which is when we first noticed her symptoms. It’s likely that even the best vet in the world would have been unable to save her, however, my sweet girl dying alone in the back of my car is unacceptable. WC Veterinary Center claims to provide both routine and emergency services. Providing emergency services requires that you adopt a triage system to screen each emergency patient, which determines their current condition and how urgently they need to be seen. Because WC Veterinary Center chooses to provide both routine and emergency services, this also means that a routinely scheduled appointment may have to wait if an emergency patient needs to be seen first. At least, this is how it’s supposed to work. Had a vet or vet tech been so kind as to lay eyes on my dog rather than flat out refusing her, their veterinary expertise would have likely told them she’s in the process of dying. And had I known this information, I could have spent her last minutes comforting and holding her.My negative experience with WC Veterinary Center is obviously on the extreme end, involving the death of my beloved pup. While I will never EVER allow WC Veterinary Center to care for my animals again, I am sharing my experience in the hopes that they will change their procedure and no one else will have to be robbed of their precious last moments with their dying pet. Rest in peace, my sweet Lyla Boo.
Just had to take my 3 yr old boxer there because he broke the nail on his dew claws. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Got him in and out in like an hour. Due to previous owners he dislikes men and they went as far as putting in his chart no males. Didnt question it, didnt make a big deal. Just did what was best for him. I would highly recommend and it will be our permanent vet for both our dogs.
These folks want nothing but money and demand to do test after test after test that are worthless to your pet but not to them $$$. They put you on hold forever. They told us different things at different times and it always circles around to more and more worthless test and of course more cash. I could go into a long and boring stories but you are better off going to a reasonable credible vet. Good vet are out there, you just have to find them. We did.
We went there as a new patient for an emergency appointment for our elderly cat. They were short staffed but they still fit us in and gave us the best care we could have hoped for. We had to make the difficult decision to put her to sleep. They were so patient, compassionate, and understanding. I highly recommend them to anyone.
I have been taking my dogs here for almost 5 years. They seem to just want to nickel & dime very last cent they can get. They dont seem to want to treat a longterm health issues with a longterm treatment, but instead want to get you to come in more often with a different treatments that never works. They wanted to charge me over $300 for just testing. I refused the test & just got 2 vaccines which cost me $100! When I had my dogs records transferred they wrote down that I refused the shoot which also shows on the records I paid for them!!Their prices are through the roof, and the people there just seem to worry more about the bill than the care of my dog. Every time they have given me an estimate its been more money at the end. I finally had enough and now go to Mason Family Pet Hospital - they were able to quickly give me a LONGTERM plan & treatment, took the time to explain everything and was HALF the price. There are better places that actually want to help your pets get better. Only good thing with this place is their boarding, but after my last few vet visits I dont think Ill ever be back even for boarding.
The staff is always friendly and very attentive to our dog. We originally used another local vet service but tried West Chester Veterinary Center when we needed to board her, based on the recommendation of a friend. We were so satisfied, we now use WCVC for all our pet care needs.
I had just moved to the area and we needed a vet closer to home. My fiance and I have a one year old Aussiedoodle with severe anxiety issues. She is the definition of Murphys Law (Murphy is her middle name). Our baby has had it all I, I dont know how many times we have been to the vet for her. Were also first time dog owners... so its a lot. Our puppy got really sick last night. My fiance got home around 5 and saw that she had gone out both ends all over herself, she was shaking, very lethargic, and really scared. I had called at 5:20 spoke with a veterinarian (which I really appreciated at the time) about my how bad this could actually be. She told me worst case scenario (of course) and that to bring her into the office, the cost would be $175 plus care. I went home to take a look, to see what she was doing, and how she was acting. After seeing how lethargic she was we decided to take her in. I called at 5:50 (30 minutes later) to let them know I was bringing her in and they put us down in the books. We got there and they sent us away because their on call Dr wasnt there! I had just spoke with a Dr and because it was 6:01 they didnt want to see her. Apparently their 24/7 sign out front doesnt really mean what it says. We live 3 miles from this place and my dog threw up twice in that short amount of time. If they would have told me to go somewhere else from the start I would have and this probably wouldnt be an issue and my puppy would have been treated faster. They didnt even call to check on her or anything after sending us away. Since our puppy isnt their priority we will never set foot in this place again. Very disappointing...
Very positive experience with Westchester vet center. The asssistants are amazing and the doctor we saw is very thoughtful and caring. They explained all charges prior to the shots/treatments we were going to have. I felt well informed and my two fur babies well cared for.
This place cares more about your wallet than your pet! Is highly OVERPRICED and I wouldnt count on them staying true to their quotes. Also, what other veterinary charges $300-$500 to perform CPR?!My overall experience is that they just look for different ways to keep adding fees to your bill up to the point that it gets ridiculous.I wont be going back. There are better options on this area like the Mason Family Pet Hospital.
Outstanding Veterinary clinic. Appointments are easy to schedule (I always see Dr Regina Krendl);very little wait time: staff is always helpful, friendly, professional, and compassionate. Fees/costs are a bit high, although reasonably affordable, depending on the service. Dr Krendl is amazingly dedicated and compassionate. I highly recommend them.
First and last visit to this vet ! Called in and explained what was going on with my Cat . They understood I wasnt willing to pay hundreds when I called and set up the appointment .they come out with a $300 bill . To run a urine analysis. I asked if there was a more cost effective way ? Nope of course not . Call Mason Animal Care Center- $22.00 for the same $300 bill they gave me !You guys should be ashamed of your selfs !
Very affordable and caring staff! Our shar pei was very sick on a Sunday and we couldnt afford another pricey vet bill as our other dog had acl surgery that week. We called and were told to head in with him immediately. We were blown away by the outstanding service we were provided. Thank you again. Dozer is feeling so much better ❤
I recently had to take my dog Mischief in on emergency and they were so awesome. My dog likes to eat EVERYTHING and so we are always in the vet I really appreciated their emergency hours. My pet is feeling better now. There were also a lot less expensive than some of the other emergency clincs in the area. I hope we dont have to go back soon, but with a dog like Mischeif, who knows.
I highly reccomend this facility. The staff is very knowledgeable and have a wonderful bedside manner. Doctor Krendl and Doctor Malcolm are my preferred vets. I trust this facility with the care of pets. I also worked here at one point, so I know what goes on in back. You are in good hands using this facility.
Love West Chester Vet Center!!! They treat your animals like their own! My boys, Boss & Caine love going to the vet because they know theyll get loved on the whole time & theyll be treated great during vaccines or whatever they have to have done! I highly recommend this vet!!!
We care for a stray outdoor cat who has adopted us, and late Sunday, one hour before the Veterinary Center was to close, we discovered that the cat, Tucker, was ill, breathing rapidly and acting lethargic. Fearing the worst, we took him to the W. C. Vet. Center where he received excellent treatment and compassionate care by the doctor, technicians and staff. Tucker is now home recovering, and I am so grateful to everyone who cared for him.
The staff was very friendly from the moment I walked in to the moment I left. The Dr was very informative and was very patient to explain everything to me. The technician was very thorough with explaining medications to me and gave helpful tips on how to administer the medication.I was also very pleased to find out that they are open 7 days a week for convenience or emergency reasons.
There arent enough words to explain the care and knowledge Dr. Krendl and her staff show. My dog had a fall and needed to be seen ASAP! I called the office and Dr. Krendl made room to see him during her busy day. We went for a follow up and had some other questions for her. She answered them without even thinking twice. Dr. Krendl is on her game! I cant thank their office enough for everything they have done for my dog. So glad I was referred to this office.
Our puppy being a puppy got into a bottle of Prilosec that was set on table and within 2-3 minutes invested 11 pills. Puppy was acting distressed and could not hold bladder - so after a google search located this place nearby as the closest. When we arrive, the desk clerk asks, “Did you call first?” I said “No, I googled emergency vet.” The clerk says, “Well we have emergency hours.” At this point another employee instructs the clerk to put us in room 220. After registration, the other employee says, “We cannot yelp you with your dog until she has gone to an urgent care or you call a phone number for poison control.” So as my distressed puppy is in the waiting room while this employee instead of giving me the phone number (which I can google, but foolishly thought a vet employee might know something); the employee feels verbally reciting policies etc. After about 20 seconds of that, I left that employee as they rambled on out the front door with my very sick puppy. I called another vet whom VIA PHONE, advised me what to do and what to look out for. We induced vomiting and the undigested pills were expelled. Firmed up puppy’s bowl with some whole wheat bread and pumpkin and 2 hours later puppy was on the mend. This is place is about money and couldn’t have cared less about my pet or more importantly, A SICK ANIMAL. I found the whole process disgusting.
The staff is always knowledgeable and knows just what to do to make your visit go smoothly. They bring out a detailed description of services that will be performed and have you sign off on it BEFORE performing anything on you pet. Its a good way to avoid any surprise charges.
Excellent Caring Emergency Care! - We just moved to the area so we dont have a vet yet. We called the emergency number at 1 in the morning when our dog was suffering from severe pain in her tailbone area. Dr. Gigis and Michael Gigis met us immediately at the clinic. They were so kind and caring while they treated and x-rayed our dog. They took their time and explained everything and answered all of our questions very patiently. I think we found our new vet.
I am absolutely disgusted with this establishment. We have been taking my dog jeter here for a few years now and all they want is money. They have done test after test racking up thousands of dollars over the past few weeks and then telling us all of the tests are inconclusive. When they finally give us a pill to put our dog on he starts peeing blood, when the medicine is looked up it is clearly stated a side effect is kidney failure. We called this vet and they told us to KEEP GIVING HIM THE PILL. This is absolute garbage they clearly have no concern for my animal and clearly only care for profit. IF I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS I WOULD. If you care about your animal, take them somewhere else.
READ!!!! After having no choice paying 4X what agripet charges. My “free” check up after a surgery costed me 40 dollars to look at the work they already charged for. Do not go. Beyond expensive. Yes they have lots of services. But so does everyone else. For way cheaper. I hope this saves someone.
Well I was looking for a nice place to leave My dog for a week but after seeing these I have changed my mind. I would like to tell everyone my dog goes to Trenton animal hospital the Dr there really does love animals the staff are kind and just friendly people and the price is very affordable and cheap its the price it should be reasonable 😉 check it out for your self if your looking for a good vet who will love and care this is the place to go thanks
The staff are incredibly compassionate and kind and bless them for having office hours seven days a week and fitting me/Punim in same day. I called them in a panic on a Sunday as my youngest dog was failing from lymphoma, and explained that I had a lot of veterinary medical knowledge as I had worked a vets office for 3 years. They never questioned me or tried to one up my panicked preordering of meds and treatments that I felt Punim needed. The entire staff was super sweet and accommodating, and Ashley Bedarf, DVM just TALKED with me, which is JUST what I needed as I clearly knew that Punims life was coming to an end. They even sent a condolence card after me being there for one visit. They made Punims last 14 hours so peaceful and gentle and I am forever grateful. Punim died at home the next morning and I knew shed gotten the best of care.
Do yourself a favor and never, NEVER, support this practice. They are nothing special, and NOTHING short of a rip-off! They have consistently attempted to over-charge me for services AND products that were not necessary, until I finally wised-up and started shopping around... They attempted to charge me $650 for a simple neutering, $500, five hundre dollars, above the going rate... Stay away! That place needs to be put out-of- business before other folks, including yourself, are not continuously ripped-off as we were... DISGRACEFUL!
I have given this place way more chances than they deserve. They are over priced and about as unaccomodating as it gets! They immediately recommend every test imaginable instead of starting with common sense just to pad their pockets. Please do not waste your time, money, and trust with these people.
This was by far the best place I could have taken our new puppy nala the staff are all amazing especially the Nurse Brandon, each person was so thoughtful and really cared about the well bieng of our animal Thanks so much to all of you who made us feel welcome and took such good care of nala we will only be taking her to you guys!
I wish zero stars was an option!!!! just put it this way this vet office is all about money and nothing else i will never go back there my new vet is awesome and very understanding and loving to the animals unlike this vet the only thing they care about is getting your last dime this has been by far the worst vet iv ever been to

2022-08-21They are fantastic and helped me when my cat was in need right away and was always willing to answer my questions and make sure my animal was healthy and called to check up on him. It really felt like they cared about my animals and wanted to make sure we always did what was best for him. I wouldn’t want to go anywhere else.without them my boys wouldn’t be as healthy as they are and I want to thank them everyday for making sure my boys are always as healthy as possible

2022-03-26Ive been a loyal customer for at least 8 years with several dogs. They are expensive but I never feel pressured to buy anything I dont want so I deal with the pricing. They are also willing to write prescriptions for flea and tick medicine that you can get online for half the price. However, its nearly April 2022 and they are still on COVID restrictions where carside service is all that is offered. You literally cannot walk inside with your dog. Super disappointing.

2022-08-21(2022)Update! Weve now added a new addition to our family! A German Shepherd pup we named Shoto. We stayed with West Chester Veterinary Center. Its hard to find people who genuinely care about the patients as much as they do. Not only are they very clean, but they ALWAYS go through each and every single step with you all the way from vaccines to more serious issues that require more care. They also do exotics, which is good to know if you have them. Their gentle demeanor and caring staff make this place well worth it.(2020)Wow! Im so impressed by this clinic and absolute AMAZING staff. They have been extremely professional and genuinely caring at every appointment!Dr. Mary also did an absolute stellar job at draining an abscess on my dogs jaw line, which is quite the accomplishment since hes a very large, timid boy around others. If youre looking for people who truly care about your pet, this is the place for you!

2022-09-02West Chester Vet Center is absolutely amazing! All of my animals come here, from our familys four dogs to my rabbits and even my geckos. All of the vets are so attentive and thorough with everything that they do. Dr. Mary has treated all of my exotic pets and several of my friends as well. I trust every one of their staff with any and all of my babies. Theyre always willing to educate clients and answer any questions.

2022-09-15I recently got a new puppy while visiting family in Ohio and West Chester Veterinary Center was recommended by the place that he was purchased from. I could not have been happier than I was here starting from the person who made the appointment, the vet tech and the veterinarian! They were all very welcoming and helpful and just absolutely wonderful! They truly made you feel like family ❤

2021-02-21The West Chester Veterinary Care Center has a remarkable staff who strive to meet the needs of you and your pet(s).About a week ago I called to schedule an appointment for three kittens and they were able to squeeze me in for a visit within the hour of my call. The appointment only took about 10 minutes and I was able to receive the check up for free since it was my first visit. The staff was very friendly, welcoming and continue to check up on my kittens. I will definitely be going back and I recommend this care center to any pet owner!

2022-06-08Scheduling issues in the beginning, the situation has been rectified. Our first appointment was a puppy emergency. They helped us even when we were not scheduled, on a busy Sunday! Very nice clinic and nice employees.
