The sunrise was gorgeous, but the room was not what we had booked (1 King and 1 Queen). Instead we got a king with a sofa that folded into a small double. This meant that 4 of us ended up sleeping in the King. It wasnt pleasant. When we questioned that we hadnt received what we had reserved, we were told it was all they had. :-(One reason I booked at the West Bank Inn was because of the reviews that it was so clean. It was not! There was drywall dust, presumably from a receive TV mounting, everywhere including a pile of debris on the floor. The carpet did not look vacuumed and the bathroom floor was grimy. While there are signs posted everywhere for people to not smoke in the rooms, step out on your mini-balcony or walk out the room to the concourse and youll find folks puffing away. The office staff were not professional and reflected the dumpiness of the inn. Had we not traveled 8+ hours we would have looked for another place in a heartbeat. We will not return despite the lake and sunrises. We all left feeling gritty, tired, and smoke scented.
Wow, this place was beautiful. The rooms were clean and smelled amazing, and the view.. my god the view. My old man loves fishing while I on the other hand just love nature and all it has to offer. 5 stars arent enough to show how much I actually enjoyed staying at this inn
Was very impressed with this place!!! Everything about it was nice from the staff joselyn and her daughter to the maids everyone was very sweet. It was located right across the street from the lake and close to several restaurants. Nice walking or biking trail and a spillway if you love to fish and the best part was very affordable and very spacious and clean rooms!! Highly recommend this place!!!
We have stayed here before and the view is great the rooms are alright but the lack of soap or shampoo is disappointing so I wish they would say something on the site as we only knew to bring some from our previous stay. The room smelled of smoke and ot stars that all room are no smoking. They might have.tried a little harder to get the smell out better before we had to stay the a room with our 2 infants. The bed was so soft it was uncomfortable because of the feeling of springs. Our stay was alright but very disappointed with some of the issues we had.
The view is phenomenal! Small Inn so not a huge amount of people running around. Has a big party deck balcony on the side along with private balconies facing the lake in every room. We have a 2 person hot tub in room! No breakfast offered but who cares? Most Continental breakfasts suck anyway. Has parking spots for trucks with boat/jet ski trailers. Dock to fish off of. Well lit by street lights around the lake at night. Beautiful place. Also like that if we decide to bring the kids next time they stay free in our room!
We were so beyond happy with our stay! Friendly staff, easy check in and check out, super clean rooms, comfy beds, smart tv and a deep whirlpool tub. We stayed in the winter, but in the spring and summer they also have a balcony over looking the lake that im sure wed enjoy! And they share a parking lot with a restaurant, bellas, that definitely didnt disappoint either! Yum!I highly recommend you stay here if youre coming to the celina area!
This is a great place to stay. Clean and very nice rooms. My one drawback is they dont have or provide bar soap...so bring your own bar soap. They only have those foamy hand pump devices. Good restaurantsin close proximity. I stayed three days on business and very much will or would stay here again.Would give it 5 stars if bar soap was provided.
Room was awesome and clean ! Staff friendly and very helpful ! Bring snacks and drinks to put in the fridge . Italian restaurant next to hotel is amazing ! Can’t swim in lake d/t bacteria so probably hard to amuse kids . You can rent pontoon boats and take walks ! Nice getaway for couples !
I have lived here in Celina for years and stayed here at the Inn for the first time, this weekend..... absolutely loved it! The room was beautiful, very clean and smelled great! The staff was amazing, so polite and helpful! I highly recommend the West Bank Inn- we will definitely be back and recommend the Inn to everyone!
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE.The wallpaper is being held on by mold.Bed bugs are a common occurance. The upper floor is being supported by a slab of plywood. The manager underpays and mistreats her staff, and actively encourages them to lie occurrence.Actively used by drug dealers as a hideout, which are hidden and protected by the manager. They will take your money and not honor cancelations. You are better off staying in Lima, St. Marys, Van Wert, or a tent off the lake.
The girl working the front desk was very sweet when we checked in. Our room is super cute and it included a two person hot tub and tv in the bathroom. The are only 12 rooms total so it was very peaceful. The view from our balcony was outstanding. I would stay here every time I visited Celina.
The room and scenery where great. But the parking situation wasnt the best we had to park our car and kayaks on one side while our room was on the other side of the hotel. Also we were charged the day we arrived and it cleared the bank by the time we left but then was just charged again yesterday for the same stay.
PRO: I was generally worried when I read other reviews...BUT the hotel was VERY CLEAN, Nice Quiet Area. Fresh Paint, Clean Carpet, Clean Bathroom, Clean linens and AMAZING views!!!!!CON: The bed was comfortable, but offered no support. I felt beat up by 2am. The offering of soap I have to agreed with other reviews. Because of the office closing at 8, I saw people sneaking their dog into the hotel, even though their policy is no pets. Would be AWESOME to have been offered a continenal breakfast. Could EASILY be a 5 star hotel all day with some updates. With all of that being said, I would recommend this hotel to anyone or everyone.
The young lady at the front desk when we checked in on Tuesday late afternoon was very friendly and very helpful. I ask her if she could suggest a good place for dinner and she gave us one also the next morning I asked the same young lady about a good place for breakfast again she gave us one. The room we had was very nice, clean and lots of room I would recommend this motel to everyone,by the way we are from New Jersey.
Room views of lake are wonderful. Room and bath are average to fair. No bath amenities, just a wall-mounted soap dispenser for sink and bath. Thin, weak and few bath towels. If not for the lake view, I would rate the place as fair. There is no breakfast included nor is one conveniently located nearby. WiFi speed was average.
Good view of lake.Rather than providing soap and shampoo they have foam dispensers mounted on wall. Shower one had enough soap for one of us to shower. Office closed at night so couldnt get refilled. Luckily we had brought some soap from home. Two beds but only one had headboard. Other seemed like afterthought: just a box springs and mattress pushed up against wall. Patio nice touch if you are a professional weight lifter to open the door as it is too low to carpet.
Unique place. Great view, quiet room, booked online so quick check-in. Pretty quiet street, especially after bedtime. Two TVs (one in the bathroom), ironing board, coffe maker, and fridge. Theres a community microwave. Bring your own soap/shampoo. The bed was a bit too soft for me but cant speak for all rooms. Bathroom sink is in main room so not handy for those whos spouse likes to sleep in but nice if the other person is using the bathroom. All-in-all, Id stay here again.
Westbank is right on Grand Lake St. Marys. You really want a 2nd floor room. Theres a balcony, or porch on the lower levels with a table and chairs to relax in. The doors are on the back side, so no matter where youre at youll have a view of the lake. The rooms are super nice. We had a king bed, a pull out couch, and mini fridge in the room we stayed in. Theres lots of open space if you need it for whatever. Its relatively quiet, even room to room, is ok, not great, but not horrible. You can park on the dock across the street, and visit the italian restaurant across the parking lot. Its a little pricey for not a whole lot of amenities, but it is in a nice location.
Frat House Party time. If you need rest, sleep in your car. Two nights in a row we were woke up by neighbor, talking started at 615 am, could hear thru adjoining room door. Moved next night to second floor, College age kids were on balcony like they are the only ones here. Tried calling office, but at 8pm on a Saturday night no answer. Kids need a meeting place in this town, not a hotel.
Called at 9:50 AM on 10/13 and got no answer, left voice mail.Got no response or return call.Guessed maybe they were closed for some reason.Made reservation at another place.Checked into the other place on 10/14, but stopped by WBI and saw they were open.Disappointed that I got no response from them.Someone is not checking voice mail, or not returning calls.
The views were wonderful and well worth it for that alone. Everything was fairly clean and I was able to check in early. That said, my complaints are that the front and balcony doors would often stick and require a bit of effort to shut. There were also some random hairs of past guests that were missed.Small potential future improvement would also be providing USB port wall plates. Other places have them and this did not affect my overall score, this is just a suggestion.

2022-08-06We were in for the 127 yardsale, & stayed at the West Bank Inn. The girls that worked during our stay went above & beyond to help us. They carried our luggage upstairs, got us ice. We moved to the 1st floor & they moved our stuff while we were at the yard sale. Nice rooms & great view. Will definitely stay next year again. Thank you West Bank Inn!!

2021-11-15Great basic hotel with an amazing sunrise view over Grand lake St Marys. Mattress was really comfortable. Room was clean. Front desk was friendly and informative. Id definitely stay there again. It is an older building and the walls are a little thin.....no biggie for me.

2021-11-22This place is very pretty with comfortable beds, clean rooms, and every room has a view of the lake. Also the TVs come with Netflix, which is great. We did have an incident where the soap dispenser in the shower fell off the wall in the middle of the night and scared my wife and I, but that rare incident is more funny than anything. Also the door stuck a lot but that also wasnt a major problem at all. Overall it was a good stay and the staff was amazingly friendly. Just the kind of relaxing we needed after a long day of driving.

2021-08-27I love this place. The rooms are huge and have nice balconies. The location on the lake is pristine. Take a long walk/run right out the door in a safe area and park. Very affordable and has a community room if needed with all the essentials.

2021-11-28First there were no towels, half a roll of toilet paper, 0 soap or shampoo. The sink didn’t drain. The Wi-Fi hardly worked. I woke up today after staying there 4 days and was charged 606 dollars for excessive cleaning????? They said there was wax on the blankets. Yes wax. Because I travel with wax and just rub it all over places I stay. Looks like I’m paying for their incompetence. This place is a joke. STAY AWAY FROM HERE.
