Delicious food, wonderful staff. The beer list is small but wonderfully picked, whoever decides on what beer is served has amazing tastes. I highly recommend the chicken and waffles also I ordered the Bavarian pretzel apitizer and had more cheese than I could eat, I mean where does that actually happen where the give you more cheese than you need? I was incredibly pleased with my visit and have been back multiple times for the chicken and waffles. The pizza is on point too, like seriously they are doing something very right.
This was my first time at Watt Street Tavern. Others in my family that I was dining with had been there before. The food was very good. The servers seemed to be on the ball but the food took a long time to arrive, everything from a salad, to the main course, and even the dessert. Pricing was a little high in my opinion, but again, the food was very good. I had the Orange Roughy and it was prepared to perfection. It was also one of the specials of the day and was one of the higher priced meals. The decor inside was interesting. I would expect to find some of the design elements in a trendy restaurant in a larger city. The layout was a bit odd in my opinion. Overall we did have a good meal and good experience.
Watt Street Tavern is our favorite go to restaurant in Circleville. Always good service, great food and reasonable prices. Love their pizza! Great place to meet up with friends for a few cocktails or beers and just hang out. Sunday morning breakfast is the best kept secret in town.
My fiance and I enjoy Watt Street Tavern a lot. I decided that we should stop by for a couple of appetizers and a drink because it was Jamess birthday. We both had their stuffed mushrooms, loaded potatoe skins and 1 Long Island Ice tea. If you stop by Watt street sometime, take it from me, you want to order those stuffed mushrooms. They were amazing as always. I did notice that the mushrooms had gotten quite a bit smaller than normal. Two of them were only a bite each and the other two were probably three bites each.. But that taste is amazing. As for the loaded potato skins they were just o.k.. I would call this a loaded baked potato instead though. Now the highlight of our evening was definitely the Long Island Ice teas. For several years now, James and I have had a hard time finding places that make our favorite drink properly. But Watt Street Tavern have changed from the way they used to make this drink to the right way this drink should be made. It was perfection!!!
Found this little gem by accident. We stopped by for lunch and were pleasantly surprised, as weve had bad experiences at independent restaurants in small towns in central Ohio. The food was great, beer was cold and reasonably priced, preseason football on TV, and the server/bartender was attentive, friendly, and willing to interact. It was all in all a pleasant experience and we will go back. Give it a try if youre in the area. You wont be sorry.
The food was good, but the presentation was on too small a plate making eating it difficult. I had to ask for additional plate for toast. Also, had to request butter as most of the toast was not buttered. Service was slow, but waitress was pleasant even some requests were made twice.
Sorry no pix this time! Okay. Took a minute to get seated. We saw 3 people before we got the 4th that took us to a table. Ordered drinks, they were decent. I had a margarita, hubby had a Pontious Lane. Ordered onion rings, very tasty, well cooked. I had a spinach & artichoke spread with mushrooms on flatbread with a balsamic reduction. This was really good, presentation and taste. Hubby had the fried orange roughy which was very tender. Daughter had the langestino alfredo. The taste was decent but the sauce was very loose. Salads were fresh. Daughter also had the lava cake which I understand was light and moist and not overly sweet. My only complaint was time. We were seated around 630 but just now leaving at 8. There was just a long wait for the whole process. My daughter had to wait much longer for her salad, the dessert and then for a box. The whole experience just seemed very disjointed. Cost was fair. Outside of that, will probably be back.
Great bartender that worked with a smile as they were out of our whiskey, out of cheese curds offered for the week, no pasta special of the week and the prime rib was cold. Used to be one of our favorite restaurants that we drive 30 miles away to. May try again but will really have to think about it.
Last 3 weeks for take out has been terrible. I order take out 1 to 3 times a week. Asked about where the regular guy was and he took a new job. Saw him at WATTS tonight said he liked the people here, but was time to move on. Said things are great . I ordered at 7 oclock they said 20 minutes got there at 740 received food at 8. Funny part about this is he is at the bar I walk in and you have a customer for take out and gave them my name. WATTS is a 5 star ,but changes need to be made to please the customers. I will still order from here, but maybe not as often.
Love to try local restaurants and happened to be in Circleville. Food was average/good but really enjoyed the ambience. Its decorated very nicely and has a cozy appeal and the staff was very friendly. It means a lot to me when places truly seem to appreciate the business. We will visit again next time we are in town.
We just had them for the first time and they were amazing! Huge portions and some of the best fried chicken Ive ever had. We also got the pretzels and cheese as an appetizer. You get more than your moneys worth. I will recommend them to anyone! Open during a pandemic and still producing amazing meals and great customer service. Ill definitely be back
Horrible!! Ordered jambalaya, 4 tiny pieces of chicken, 2 pieces of I dont know what kind of meat, uncooked rice with jalapeno peppers on it with tons of white pepper!! It was so bad, did not eat it...also ordered was 2 grilled chicken wraps with 2 tiny thump size pieces of chicken in each section of wrap. I bet our whole table had a chicken finger cut up for all 3 of us for our meal.If you cant serve people a meal then you need to close your business! Will not ever go back. Very unfortunate for you. One star was to kind. Also service was terrible.
Dirty drinking glasses and server walked away when I commented on not wanting to drink out of the dirty glass. I usually dont gussle from a beer bottle. It was 440 and server didnt know what the 500 specials were yet. Were just passing through town. We asked for a local steak or Italian restaurant and clerk at motel sent us to Watt street. Pork loin sandwich was huge and good. Grilled salmon on my salad was delicious but salad was mostly chopped onions. Overall fair based mostly on service
Had dinner here for the first time. Food was really good. Loved the pretzel appetizer with beer cheese! Overall the food was really good and love the atmosphere. Would love to come back again when it warms up to sit out on the patio one evening. Great service as well!
Update: visited recently. Easily a Kitchen Nightmares episode. People fighting in the kitchen. Other customers got tired of waiting and left. No one wanted to seat us. Finally the waitress grabbed up some menus and walked away without a word, we followed her, she slammed the menus on a table and walked away. Didnt bother to speak or look at us. We walked out. We wont be back. Sad. Was a favorite restaurant of ours for years. Previous review was 5 stars: Quiet. Cozy. Newly remodeled. Fresh made, really good food. Good service. Nice break from the chain restaurants.
It was ok. We went for Saturday morning breakfast. The wait time for the food was a little long and there werent may customers there. The food was luke warm when it arrived. Not sure that breakfast is their strong suit. I will say that I appreciated the fact that the sausage gravy was homemade, I could tell it wasnt from a bag.
I have eaten here several times for both lunch and dinner plus have attended Rotary meetings they hosted. All and all, this is a good local place to eat. I believe that the prices are reasonable when compared to the food quality and quantity. They also do a good job when hosting a lunch or dinner event / meeting. Breakfast has a little to be desired. My only complaint is that I find their lunch menu a little lacking in options for my taste. I am not a soup and sandwich guy and the entrees are minimal at lunch. That being said, I have always been satisfied and continue to go back again and again. Cant give much higher praise than that for a restaurant.
This place has like average food... Pizza pretty good... The best thing on the menu is corn crab chowder just try it one time youll love it... Really good drinks for the price... They had a really good bartender she left recently... Shes missed by a lot of customers... They have a really nice big patio.. half covered.. three or four fire pits. Gas or propane filled.. so youre not going to smell like firewood.. really nice bathrooms and theyre clean.. and they do have a lot of handicap parking.. the only thing I dont like is sometimes they have a sewage backup smell in the bar area... Get that fixed as asap!!!
Great place for Dinner. Baked Salmon was Awesome. 1st night bartender was awesome, 2nd night different bartender was not very attentive, I was there at the bar 5 minutes before they ended there conversation with another person at the bar. Their conversation dominated the whole night.
First I have to say that the two best things about this place in my opinion are the menus versatility and the event scheduling. Both the outdoor and indoor sections are great for band performances, and the menu has enough solid stuff to cater to just about anyone. Ive had a couple of meh entrees here, but overall food has been pretty good. Another small negative though is I feel the bar is limited. Ultimately I would recommend Watt St as a nice local place to have a good time.
I attended an event here recently, it seemed like the restaurant was poorly prepared. There were only two servers assigned to the entire event room who were also waiting tables outside on the regular guest floor. In addition, the cooks did a poor job which did not help the server. One sub came out with meatballs as hard as rocks, and a buffalo chicken sub came out with no chicken on it.I have had previous experiences there with insufficient wait staff, which is a shame. Most of the food there is pretty good.
Been going there for years and it just gets better. They have put a lot into making the place look modern. Food is great, especially the Gumbo and Jambalaya. Wish they would bring back the Po Boys, Cajun Chicken and Catfish. Plus they need Pepsi and loose the Rust Cleaner Coke
Convenient local place however the food quality is not consistent. Met some friends there last Saturday around 6:30PM and they were out of the pork chop special that early in the evening. Ordered an alternate entree and it was just ok. Buffalo chicken pizza used to be the best.....not so much lately.
Food was good. Service was super friendly. Condiment game lacking. Sandwich had none, and fries came with a ramekin of ketchup (I dont like ketchup) that I didnt ask for. Heres my suggestion: when a meal that comes with fries is ordered, ask if they want ketchup, ranch, or honey mustard (or whatever you have). That way the customer is happy and youre not wasting ketchup. :)
We were in town for a soccer tournament and had a party of 33 - on a Friday night! Watt Street Tavern was super accommodating, finding plenty of room for us on the back patio (enclosed and heated). The atmosphere was great, the food was delicious, but the service is what really stood out. Our server, Taryn (sp?), was amazing! She handled all 33 orders, was super friendly and patient, and not once did she seem flustered. Even at the end when she had to divide up the orders and payments, she knew exactly who had what and handled it all effortlessly. I definitely would love to eat here again and would highly recommend Watt Street Tavern!
At first glance this is a high scale bar very modern contemporary feel extremely relaxed environment. Bartender on atm very knowledgeable and an polite. Excellent staff order in for red beans an rice with cobo shrimp serered in butter garlic an white wine 15 mins an salad looks amazing the bartender Jessica is wonderful red beans an rice came and are amazing steve the manager is very cool moral of the story if you come to circleville ohio watt street tavern is a place to experience for sure having a hard time in life an finding a place like this is amazing
We used to live in New Orleans and were happy to find a place that had food close to what we had down there. They took chicken and waffles off the menu. That was the reason kept going there, it was sooooo good. 😪 We left and went to Roosters instead. Really really disappointed about that. 😔
Not impressed with the Service at all ordered a coke and it was flat she gave my 4 year old nephew a regular cup instead of a kids cup. My friend ordered a sweet tea after her coke was also flat and they didnt have any ready. Waitress walked away while my friend was talking asking her for a kids cup. We asked for rolls before the meal bc my nephew was really hungry. She didnt bring them at all and had to be asked again and still didnt bring them. Fries were extremely greasey and salty to the point we couldnt eat them and had to ask for freash fries. The waitress acted as if she was running all over the place and n a hurry (3 tables to wait on) and seemed a bit rude about everything. This will be the last time myself and my friend come here!!! Very disappointing!!!!
Ordered pretzels and beer cheese, burnt ends chili, and fish and chips. Pretzels n cheese were outstanding. Chili was good. Fries were great. Fish was fair, overcooked a little.Service was fair. Had to wait too long for refills. Iced tea was not good, too weak.My girlfriend swapped Cole slaw for a salad with her meal. The was a 4 DOLLAR upcharge. Lettuce is not that expensive.I saw a ribeye walk past me. Getting that next time, if I go back.
We never knew this place was there until we attended a Rotary club meeting but to our surprise it is a very nice place! Great food, pleasant staff and bit of uptown in the heart of Circleville. If you want a nice elegant meal and dont want to drive to the city you have to check out the Tavern!
Been coming here for over 5 years. Made reservations, had to wait 45 minutes post reservation time being told it would just be another moment. No place to sit with a party in the meantime. No offers on a drink, a seat at the bar, anything. Service since the re-branding has gone downhill. When the food doesnt come out cold or overcooked the menu selection is actually A+
This is the successor to JR Hooks using many of the same or similar recipe. For the price point ($105 including tax and tip for three people, including three beers) it is okay. There is a significant overreliance on green bell peppers in sauteed dishes, which is not generally a flavor profile that helps something like shrimp. Service was Ok but it took a long time to receive the meals on a Friday night. It may be because they had some sort of bingo type event in their back meeting hall. Boomers Pizza is a separate restaurant that seems to now run out of the same kitchen as Watt St Tavern.

2022-01-27Great Place, Great Food, Excellent Value. My wife and I wanted to go someplace different during the cold spell we are having right now, she does business in Circleville so we decided to try this place. The place itself is roomy and very inviting its separated into two side a bar side with dining and a larger area in the the back for bigger groups. The lighting is low and warm it has an industrial kinda feel. My wife loves the type of crunchy ice they use. She calls it hospital ice cause thats what she chewed on when she was pregnant in the hospital. We ordered for an appetizer the stuffed mushrooms and it is the same dish most places have it was good nothing bad well seasoned, made very well served hot and quick. We both had the red beans and rice. She had the bourbon chicken and I the sausage. A great dish for a cold night if you like a little spice order the sausage if you like sweet order the chicken. My wife and I both were pleased with this meal again nothing stood out but it was well made good purport ions just a really good meal. We finished with bread pudding dessert and it was great as well. Perfect for this cold season. The last thing is the price for the meal we had it was very reasonably priced along with our server Taryn who did a great job serving us we will definitely come back and recommend this place.

2022-05-26This place goes above and beyond, and they are amazing. My grandfather is living at a nursing home just a few blocks from the tavern, and it has been hard on our whole family that we can’t spend time with him like we used to. However, with his birthday coming up, we wanted to test taking him out to eat. He is wheelchair bound and needs some special care as a dementia patient, but we figured we could handle the walk. We were greeted and easily given access to the patio so we could find the most wheelchair friendly table, the staff was really patient with us, and we were very well taken care of. Every single thing we ordered, potato skins, to salads, to pizza, to sandwiches, and even cocktails and desserts were really fantastic. We can’t wait to go back for my grandfather’s birthday because we know it is a safe space for him and my family to be able to enjoy each other’s company. Highly recommend!

2022-01-03Overall terrible, lettuce was wilted and tasted like it was on clearence at Kroger. The main meal tasted like they just kinda dumped out a P.F. Chang’s frozen meal and called it good (it isn’t). The drinks tasted off, almost metal like. Then on top of that it’s expensive for no reason (maybe the decor but even then there are multiple light bulbs missing, cuts in the walls, broken toilets)

2022-02-27Very poor customer service. I just went through the drive thru and picked up a called in order. As I was driving home, I noticed the fries were white and barely cooked. So I called immediately to tell them I would be returning them and would like replacements. I brought the rest of the food home, and then noticed they also got my burger wrong (mayo instead of ketchup), and forgot my wife’s salad. So I called back and told them I needed these replaced as well. When I got back there for the replacements, they brought me another hamburger with mayonnaise instead of ketchup!! I showed the guy immediately. He came back to tell me it would be 20 minutes for another hamburger!!! After paying over $60 for my food to be wrong twice, now they want me to wait 20 minutes for a replacement hamburger?? I asked for my money back for the burger because I was not waiting that long. A manager came to the window to ask what was wrong and to tell me they won’t give refunds! Because people in the past “abused it”!! I said how am I abusing anything when you guys get my order wrong twice! This is terrible customer service and I will not be going back there to get my “credit” for my hamburger they couldn’t even put the correct toppings on!

2022-01-28Service friendly, but a little slow; the food was excellent. From the name, i thought it would just be a neighborhood bar, but its actually a tad more upscale than that. Waitress asked what kind of draft beer i liked, and brought two samples for trial. Not crowded at all on a Thursday night. 10/10 would go back. Servings werent huge by US standards, but well done. Wife agrees on all of the above.

2022-02-27Food was delicious. Best ranch Ive ever had. I ordered the LA chicken salad and my husband had the Reuben. The restaurant is very clean and modernly decorated. Clean bathrooms and friendly staff. We will definitely come back the next time we are in Circleville.

2022-05-15Great sausage biscuits and gravy with a fried egg on top. Really good food and service for the price. I would like to come back and try something other than just the breakfast menu. Definitely recommend giving this place a try.

2022-06-18Food was pretty good. Service was the worst Ive had in a while. The server was so bad the young gentleman hosting had to jump in and assist us. We tipped him instead.

2022-06-25Ordered a pizza and wedge salad. Pizza was good, wedge salad for almost 9.00 was wilted Romain lettuce not iceburg with hardly any egg, tomatoes or bacon....
