I can’t say enough accolades about Chris Dawson and the team at VW of Akron.This is my second car I leased from Chris and the third from VW of Akron.I have also had them all serviced at the dealership with the same highest in quality service and respect to the customer.I have negotiated with other dealerships on all three passed cars and have always ended up with VW of Akron, not only because of the best price but mostly because of the customer respect.
This place is a joke when it comes to customer service. Last June I brought my wifes VW Eos in because of a corrosion warranty claim on the front fenders. This was a warranty issue due to poor engineering on the wheel wells that hold water and cause rusting from the inside out. I know this because it is my second VW that had a corrosion warranty claim. After 12 months of calling the dealership and VW corporate customer support I am still waiting on having my car repaired. They keep telling me to be patient. At first the delay was because the body shop was backed up, then it was the dealership was closed due to COVID19, etc., etc., etc. I am still waiting 12 months later and now they wont return my calls. This is my 5th and last VW. This place has been run into the ground since Dave Walter sold it and their customer service is atrocious! Many times when you call they dont answer the phone and it goes into voicemail and they NEVER return calls! Do yourself a favor and go to Brunswick Volkswagen. I would but I cant since there is already a claim in the system and Im being held hostage. What a stupid process to handle warranty issues.
We walked into VW without any intentions of committing to a car. Then comes Earl out of his office and the rest of history. He did a fantastic job! He was knowledgeable, extremely helpful with any and all questions we had, and trustworthy. If he did not know the answer off the top of his head, he would stop at nothing to get us the answer. That is the most important thing to us. We 100% recommend Earl.
Me and my fiancé had the pleasure of dealing with Earl this past weekend at Volkswagen of Akron. He made the process of getting a new car easy and he went above and beyond to get us the deal that we wanted. He was very knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with. Brought my VW to this dealership for service last week from the Cleveland area. Lawrence was receptive and prompt and did a fantastic job getting me in and out on a timely manner! Service professionals are very knowledgeable and took the time to discuss and explain my vehicle with me.
Really great experience leasing my Tiguan from VW of Akron. Jordan, Matt and Anthony were great to deal with. VW of Akron beat all other prices for the lease I got from other dealers. They also managed to find the exact car (trim, packages, color) that I wanted. Will be back for my next lease.
My wife and I are based in Boston and found a deal on a Touareg TDI that hadnt been sold yet because of the diesel scandal. The process of buying from a distance was about as easy as it could be and Josh the internet sales manager was awesome in getting everything arranged. David, the finance manager, overnighted the paperwork to us and we signed and my wife flew out to pick up the car. Everyone made the process so easy and Josh especially took care of my wife when she picked up the car. Great experience across the board!
Chris Dawson was a friendly and knowledgeable client advisor. And he follows directions well, I told him not to sell my car and he didn’t-joke, sort of lol…listen he was transparent and upfront about the entire process. Would definitely highly recommend him. You won’t be sorry! Then their finance guy!!! Wow! Seamless, transparent, efficient and EASY. This was by far my best car buying experience to date. I definitely will be back with family and friends.
We were helped out by Chris Dawson and he did an absolutely wonderful job helping us find our new car. We had got a 2022 VW Tiguan and it was beautiful. So let me start off by saying I started at Bedford and almost gave up on this company in general… it was that bad. I came to Akron not expecting much honestly. That’s when I met AJ. It was a breath of fresh air to meet a business manager that treats people like human beings and actually loves their job. He pointed me in the direction of Chris the salesman. Chris is not your typical slime ball salesman you will find at other places. He talks to you straight and legitimately wants you to leave happy. I got the car I wanted within my budget and it didn’t feel pressured at all. Thanks guys you have my business from here on out. If your looking for a VW …. Akron’s your place!!!!!

This is my Twitter email & name because they permanently banned my other one I don’t know how to switch.My name is Ben & today on 3/6/2021 we bought a car from volkswagen akron. The guy we worked with was Tom. His customer service & attitude was a 5/5 can’t be beat, very nice guy, very laid back.My fiancé & I have been looking for a used vehicle for the past 2-3 months. We currently have 1 car payment so we was just looking for something we could pay cash for no financing. In the past when I tell them I don’t want to finance & pay cash I have had dealers like Ron Marhofer Hyundai Cuyahoga Falls lie to me & say the car I wanted was sold. Even though Its still on their website a week later & they added it to car gurus yesterday.Not Tom, that didn’t bother Tom that we didn’t want to finance a car, he still worked with us. We was able to find a 2009 Super clean, well maintained Chrysler Sebring with 79,000 miles on it. A Chrysler Sebring if taken care of will pump out 150,000-200,000 plus miles 1 of the few Chrysler/Dodge products that can do that. We was able to buy it for $5290 which was $1400 below market value for that model & miles right now.While I was at the shop I looked at Jettas for possibly in 3-5 years when my current car payment on my nissan is done. They all looked nice & the whole staff was very friendly.The only bad thing is 1 finance person & it goes by who gets there first. So if you don’t like waiting show up early, but Tom has a cool office you can hang out in.
If you’re thinking about going to Volkswagen Akron, I would advise you to go & ask for Tom Hoza, I just recently purchased a vehicle from him & let me tell you about my experience.It was my fiancé, my 20 month old daughter & myself. Tom pretty much loaned us his office for 4 hours. He allowed us to sit in there with our baby & relax. He also shared his snacks with Lucy my daughter & brought her a coloring book. He offered us food, drinks just really made us feel like we belong & let us relax.My test drive was awesome, he allowed us to put the car seat in & take the vehicle for an hour by ourselves so we could talk about it.Of course we purchased the vehicle & while I was there my daughter & I was aloud to freely explore. In a few years I have a car payment up & just being there looking at all the new jettas made me want one. Very clean cars. They also have some great SUV in the showroom including 1 the size of an escalade black rims & that trendy new grey gloss matte paint job.

We had a great experience working with Tom in sales and Chris in finance when purchasing our used vehicle. They were both professional and were not pushy on anything at all. It was probably the first time we had left a dealership really pleased with everyone we had come in contact with.The service manager, Mike, even helped us out with the replacing out wheel with the spare as we got a flat from hitting an ice chunk on the freeway on the way in.Overall it was a very positive experience and wed definitely recommend this dealership.

My window wouldnt go up on my car, and I commute from akron to Cleveland for work. I called after hours for the service department to squeeze me in the next day to get it up.The girl I spoke with left them a message. Save your time and money and never go there for your car servicing. I don’t know if they changed the management or what but currently what they offer is horrible. First, they charge higher price than any other place and second they lie about doing the multipoint examination and filter replacement. They were hesitant in giving me the report after oil change servicing and told me that everything with my car looks good. However I have been experiencing certain issues with my car after that.Never going there again
This dealership is really one of a kind. Looking for a vehicle has always been a stressful experience for me and as soon as I walked in to Volkswagen of Akron that stress quickly went away. I was so fortunate to have Chris be the one to help me find a car. I am 24 and had to go to the dealership on my own yesterday, and Chris made it so easy. Ive never had a car dealership employee take so much time in making sure I understand all the details, and really listen to exactly what I wanted/needed. Throughout my decision making period, I did not get any harassing calls nor did i feel rushed. In fact, this wonderful group of men Tom, Matt & Jay, stayed waaaaay past closing hours to get me the best deal on my 2020 Jetta. Tom has A+ salesman etiquette and has a wonderful demeanor. He was thorough, very knowledgeable about all features and functions of the vehicle and very appreciative. Ammar Husein was the best sales associate. I called in the morning to inquire about a vehicle and was told they would detail it so it would be ready when I got to the dealer. Not only was the vehicle completely clean but the front struts had been replaced and new tires installed without changing the asking price. Ammar and the whole dealership are top notch!!!
I was very appreciative of the helpful approach of Chris and Kelsey when it came to leasing my car. They were both attentive and professional. I flew in from out of state and purchased a Mazda3 at the dealership. My VW lease was totaled after someone ran two lights and into me, so to say I was overwhelmed and frazzled when i had to get a new car is an understatement. Chris was so great! He helped me without everything and made it so easy. He even spoke with my parents in NJ, since this was the first car I bought. Honestly, I recommend going here for any VW purchase.
Just a terrible experience from the start. From buying for 27k...immediate problems. Since we bought this 2018 VW Tiguan car LOW mileage I have had to fix the tires...now they want 600 for rattle...all they do is seek more ways to squeeze more money out of you. I would NEVER buy here again nor will I go back for servicing. I very nicely shared my experience with the Tech and even he became short because I am tired of paying them more and more for a car that should not need ALL this expense within a month. Just bought acar yesterday, and this is my first experience buying a German car. By far, the best experience Ive had in car purchase. The process was short, stress-free, and very friendly. Chris is by far the easiest to work with sales person Ive ever met. He is honest, professional, and shows a lot of understanding for your needs. He respected my time and schedule, and kept the negotiation part short and sweet. I used to hate buying cars, but I can definitely say that I enjoyed it this time.
I’m never one to post reviews, but the staff here is great and helpful.James, the Pre-Owned vehicles manager helped me pick out a nice car for a reasonable price and still continues to provide very good resources outside of his work to provide amazing customer satisfaction.Cody was very helpful when I thought there was a small error on my car title.Chris helped me out greatly when it came to the test drive and other vehicle options even though I made up my mind nearly instantly.Darnell helped me out greatly when I had many questions about getting extra parts such as keys.Mike is great at helping me schedule my maintenance and pushing to always meet my needs. I would give them a higher star rating if possible!
Greatest experience if you’re looking to buy a new car. Tom and Anthony worked with me through the process and it honestly could not have been a smoother process. They take care of you’re every need and then some, always making sure that you were comfortable and that you understood the whole process. Tom even allowed us to watch a movie in his office and shared a snack with us while he worked on getting us out of here in a timely manner with a new car. I recently purchased a 2018 Tiguan from this dealership and Tom H. on 8/4/2018. I cannot say enough amazing things about the experience. I went in with the intentions to test drive only, and their customer service was far more than anything I was expecting and helped me make my decision on the car that day. Tom was very easy going and had such a great personality- he definitely made the process as comfortable as possible. I had my husband and eight month old baby with me and he made sure they were comfortable as well. He even let my baby play on the floor of his (very cool) office while we waited for the paperwork to be completed. We even watched Netflix! I have bought and leased many cars in my lifetime; this was my first time at this dealership and they definitely raised the bar way above any experience I’ve had at a dealership before. I would recommend them to anyone!
I have brought my 2017 Golf GTI to VW of Akron for service ever since I got it a few years ago. Each time I come in, I am always greeted and know I will be taken care of in a timely manner. If I have an issue with something after the job has been done, the guys are always very helpful in correcting it. Over the last few times I have had Jake as my service guy. He has been very helpful with figuring out issues with my tires and with other general items on the car. It is always nice to see him there because of how smooth and helpful he makes the process go. It makes me feel good leaving my car with him because I know its in good hands to be worked on. I look forward to continuing to bring my GTI to Volkswagen Akron for several years to come!

The environment at VW Akron is more relaxed than any of the dealers I visit in Columbus.I would like to add to this review.When I bought the car, a second key remote was not found at the dealership. The staff there is so friendly and courteous! Our salesman was Tom and he was amazing! He got us the best deal possible for the pickle we were in and I couldn’t be happier with our purchase. We had our three year old daughter with us and he was so accommodating to her, letting her watch Netflix to pass the time and was constantly making sure she was okay to be there. Dealership is very nice - Ive bought my last two cars there and was treated very nicely both times. Sales staff was straightforward and wasnt trying to pull the wool over my eyes or anything, both times I knew what I wanted and they tried their best to meet my expectations. Have also been coming for all of my servicing and have been 100% satisfied every time.

We had a problem with our vehicle and were referred to this dealership by many people from our area. The entire staff makes you feel welcome as soon as they see you pull in the parking lot. The General Sales Manager, Joshua DeLuco did everything he could to help resolve the issues we were having even when it went past business hours. He went above and beyond to meet our expectations. We were impressed as well with David Mitchell, the Business Manager. He was full of knowledge and we never felt pressured. We love our new vehicle and are so happy with the service we received. When I tell you I dont like shopping for cars, I mean I hate every part of it! Its frustrating, I dont like the time it takes & the whole process. However, Aaron &a Amy were willing to negotiate solely by email, when my daughter & I stopped into pick up her car we met Tom, who was great, offering us water, then berries and even veggies! LOL! We had so much fun with him, he had us laughing so hard, so friendly and hilarious. The financing with David was also fun! How can anyone make that fun? They are under new management.I recently like 3 weeks ago purchased a vehicle from the Dealer. I have to admit EVERY SINGLE STAFF MEMBER I ENTER ACTED WITH WAS TOTALLY AWESOME! We brought in my Tiguan for its 30,000 mile service and was very happy with the outcome. They did a complete inspection of the unit and alerted me of the tire wear and that it would be something to think about replacing in the near future. Changed the oil and checked entire unit!!! We have never had a bad experience and will continue to drive 1hr away to get the best service on our vehicle. Thanks to the service department and mechanics!!!

Took delivery on a 2020 GLI Autobahn today, love the car. Ammar(salesman) and Matt (management) were good people, not just your typical annoying dealership. Negotiations were fair and quick. They traded with another dealer for the exact options I wanted, detailer did better than any other vehicle purchase Ive made. Thinking Volkswagen? Definitely give them a shot.
We purchased a turbo beetle about 2.5 years ago. The salesman was very patient and not pushy at all. The purchase experience was very pleasant and relaxed.Today we picked up our car after the standard 40K service. There had been a problem during the test drive. The clutch pressure spring had failed due to uneven contact. The clutch components were just past the warranty but Aaron talked Volkswagen into covering the cost of the repair.While I was a little disappointed in Volkswagen for the bum part, we were VERY HAPPY with Aaron and the service department for making this right. My faith in Volkswagen is renewed. We have owned many Volkswagens in our family.We recommend this dealer if youre interested in purchasing and we DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT ! !We are very very happy with them ! !

I’m not sure where to really start. I put in for a request to talk with Chris one of the amazing reps that helped me. I felt forced into a “mom car” and I went in to see my options. Drove 65+ miles to see a car that wasnt there. Only made the drive after verifying with that the vehicle was there.Very bad experience all around.While there they were extremely desperate to make a sale. I really should have just turned around and walked out after the audacity which they had to treat me how they did.When I arrived I was told to have a seat.Sat for 35 minutes only to be told the car sold a half hour before we arrived.Complete BS, crooks, tried to sell us totally different cars than we were there to see and did not respect or understand our needs.Everyone here is only interested in filling their pockets not helping or serving you. Practically begged us to lease a vehicle. Utter scumbags wastes of time look anywhere else for a better experience. Even a hole in the ground is more hospitable cleaner had more parking and customer respect.
I recently took my Volkswagen Jetta in for repairs and Darnell was excellent to work with. The warranty was superb and saved me literally thousands in repairs. I can’t say enough great things about this place. Everyone that works at VW Akron is so nice and caring. Our salesman, Peter, was amazing. He knew so much about the cars and the business and never made us feel uncomfortable or pressured into leaving with a car. Not to mention, we met both of the sales managers and they are the nicest people you’ll ever meet. So was the guy who did the financing with us- He told us exactly what was going on the whole time and answered all our questions so clearly. All the salesmen and managers here really made us feel like they really cared about how we felt and making us happy, rather than just making a deal and forcing us into something we were unsure of. We won’t go anywhere else to buy a car!!!!
Took my car to get service under warranty. Darnell was super helpful. My only complaint was that the day they would have a loaner car for me kept getting postponed. It ended up taking 10 days to get the loaner. Fortunately my engine problem was something not super-urgent. Other than that, the atmosphere and friendly staff make it seem like a great place to get your car serviced.
Brian was incredibly helpful, kind, and knowledgeable. He was attentive and showed that he really cared for his customers. In addition, the car was an well maintained and an excellent price. I am incredibly happy with my investment and I will highly recommend Brian and Volkswagen of Akron to my friends and family in the future!

So far my experience has been frustrating to say the least. I had my vehicle towed for start up issues. Was told that I had a faulty battery, I needed new alternator and something was wrong with the intake manifold. Majority was covered by my warranty. I was told the vehicle would be ready a certain day and I went to pick it up and it was not ready. Wasted money on Uber back & forth. When the vehicle finally was ready, I drive the vehicle off the lot and immediately heard rattling noises and the check engine light came on. So that tells me the vehicle was not test driven after the work was finished. Called the dealership and left a message to be contacted back from the service department. No call back. This is becoming frustrating and I’m starting to lose trust in this dealership. I’m going to take the vehicle back on Monday and see how all this can be resolved.
If I could give this place zero stars I would. I had my car towed here to have a new key programmed because I was told they were the “best.” Unfortunately, it was quite the contrary. I was originally quoted $260. I got a call from a tech 5 days later claiming that they could not fully program the key with all of the functions. I was confused because my key and car worked perfectly fine prior to me bringing it in. I asked them to move forward in trying to program my key. A couple hours later I got another call from a tech claiming my circuit was faulty and the electrical unit blew while they were trying to fix it and that it would be $900 to replace. When I came into the dealership they charged me $333 dollars for a job they didn’t even finish. I now have to remove my covering from my driver side door to gain access to my car. What I am confused about is how they charge me full price for a job they didn’t finish and expect me to pay $900 dollars for something they did and can’t decode. I will be moving forward with my lawyer tomorrow. It’s a shame we couldn’t settle this out of court. However, I am fully prepared to file my consumer complaint report and take this up with the better business bureau. Do yourselves a favor and steer away from this company and their faulty practices. I’ll see them in court.
Working with Brian, Chris and Anthony was a pleasant experience. We felt they appreciated that we had done our homework on the VW we wanted to purchase. They were fair and honest in explaining how they’d arrived at the sticker price for the year and mileage of the car. This is not the best dealership that I have worked with.I had a Volkswagen that was not purchased from here, but was serviced in their service department... and that’s a different story for a different day.However, that experience lead to me to lease a vehicle from this dealership.My leasing experience was sub par. I don’t feel like I was valued as a customer, and I feel like things pertaining to the leasing process were explained poorly.

This place is a joke when it comes to customer service. Last June I come in VW of Akron.Because of a corrosion warranty claim on the door. This was a warranty issue due to poor engineering on the wheel wells that hold water and cause rusting from the inside out. I know this because it is my second VW that had a corrosion warranty claim. After 12 months of calling the dealership and VW corporate customer support I am still waiting on having my car repaired. They keep telling me to be patient. At first the delay was because the body shop was backed up, then it was the dealership was closed due to COVID19, etc., etc., etc. I am still waiting 12 months later and now they wont return my calls. This place has been run into the ground since Dave Walter sold it and their customer service is atrocious! Many times when you call they dont answer the phone and it goes into voicemail and they NEVER return calls! Do yourself a favor and go to Brunswick VW.
Always friendly. Explain things in detail when they see the huh? look on my face. I walked in with no appointment and the vaguest of information, and walked out in less than an hour with enough oil, a new tire, and a reminder for my next maintenance appointment. They were great to lease from, great to buy from, and the have free animal crackers. If I could just keep their parking lots straight Id have no worries at all.
Terrible service department, 0 stars. My wife called due to a recall on the airbag on her 2012 EOS after receiving notices that this part was recalled and needed replaced. The person in service she talked to told her yes there was a recall on her car but no solution to it and then he had the nerve to ask her if her car had a Volkswagen emblem on it! When I found out I called the Streetsboro dealership and the problem was taken care of professionally without all the BS. I then called Volkswagen of Akron to report the shoddiness of their service department and little interest was shown. At least we have the recorded conversation in case of liability due to accident. Its worth the extra 4 miles to the Streetsboro dealership to be treated respectfully and professionally.

Came in with an older VW with a check-engine light. They took great care of my car and even washed it. Turned out to be an easy fix but they test drove it and made sure the light was not turning back on before I left. It took a little more than an hour to fix but they charged me just for an hour of work.They offer complimentary vehicles or a shuttle for those who need it and also have free snacks and even a work area for busy professionals on the go. I’ve never seen that before.Lastly, I just wanted to mention they really took the time to treat me like a human and didn’t look down on me when I drove in with an older car. Treated me like a valued customer and I appreciated that.
Without a doubt my car was made for the autobahn! I cant thank Justin enough for putting me in a car that I love. He is knowledgeable about all the small things that made the CC the right choice for me, what other cars had in comparison, and after the sale made sure that I knew how to customize the settings to my liking. They made buying a car very easy and hassle free. Both James Hunziker and Tom Hoza were able to answer all of my questions via text messaging and phone calls. They even responded after their work hours and on their days off through their personal numbers. Even the finance manager, Cody Lambach, stayed late to make sure everything was taken care of. This is my first VW vehicle I’ve bought, and because of the staff I’ll definitely look to them first the next time I plan on purchasing a vehicle.
Met Tom Hoza and was very glad for the opportunity. We checked out and test drove a 2016 Jetta, and I bought it. I wasnt really satisfied with my purchase: all my doing: so 2 weeks later I came in to make an upgrade to a 2016 Tiguan. I was treated fairly, and after a bit of horse-trading, we closed a deal. Very happy with the Tiguan, alot more car under you and rides smooth. Tom had a great deal to do with me ending up in the right vehicle.

This place is a joke. Went to test drive a Tiguan with my boyfriend, and they tried to pass off a used car with over 6000 miles on it as “new.” The salesman pitched us some bogus claim that the car was the owner’s daughter’s car and she got it taken away. We wrongly assumed we’d get a good deal on it since it was used. Instead they “played” with the numbers to get our monthly payment to where we wanted it. Finally we insisted they tell us how much they were asking for the car, and they quoted us the MSRP price for it. They insisted this was the only way to get the low apr promotion. We got up to leave and they got offended so we tried to work out a deal on an actual new car and they kept coming back with higher and higher numbers every time we agreed on a price. Don’t fall for their scams, buy your Volkswagen elsewhere.
My wife and I have been researching multiple suvs to add to our family. We have had a few bad experiences at multiple dealerships in the area. Everyone at the dealership was great to deal with and made life easy, Peter was wonderful to deal with. You will not feel pressured to purchase a vehicle here, which is what led my wife and I to come back and buy our new Atlas here at Akron VW. I would highly recommend anyone to visit before making the decision to visit the large high volume dealerships.
First off - the staff at this dealership are amazing. They are knowledgeable, forthright, and willing to help you out with making a deal happen. I found the most amazing pre-owned vehicle at a rock bottom price on their lot. I drove 5 hours from Harrisburg to Akron OH to buy the car because the deal with just THAT GOOD. To top it off, Tom Hoza, my salesman was just as excited as I was about the car and we had a blast testing driving it... almost too much fun we didnt want to return back to the dealership. Tom was perfect - he had every part of the purchasing process ready for me upon my arrival so I could focus on the excitement of buying a quality German vehicle and not on paperwork or titles or govt shinanagons. My daughter just turned 16 and was looking to get her an affordable and reliable vehicle. Stopped in at Dave Walter VW, with the intent of only browsing the lot.. I am a college student at Kent State Univsery my lease was up on my car and I wanted to take a look at a VW Jetta. I called the dealership and spoke to a sales Pearson named Geoff. He set up an appointment and had the car pulled up when I got there. I ended up leasing the car with the help from Geoff and the sales manager Matt. It was a great experience and I would recommend them to anyone!
Was hopping to trade my a4 convertible and buy a used traverse that was priced around 7 k. They offered me $300 for my car, just $300. I decided to keep my car and offered them 6k cash, they refused.I was not very much thrilled with theirs car trade in estimator, who obviously missed to do his job properly. I traded same car same day for $1000 at another shop and bouth my self $5000 worth SUV with 93000 miles in better condition than Traverse was.1 star for trying
Let me start off by saying, if i could give this dealership 6+ stars, I would. They are hands down the best car dealership in northeast Ohio. I went to several different dealerships and nobody was as welcoming, friendly, or ready to work a real offer as Dave Walters VW. My sales rep Justin Koss made leasing my first car very easy! He was very friendly and easy to work with. I would definitely recommend Dave Walters Volkswagen to anyone looking for a great deal on great cars from great people!!
Buying a car is a daunting task. I always dread the entire process because it’s timely and stressful. I had found a Volkswagen Tiguan I really wanted on Carfax and it led my husband and I to Volkswagen of Akron. As soon as we walked in we were welcomed by Tom Hoza. We drove away that day with the exact car I wanted! From start to finish he was extremely approachable, friendly, and accommodating.To make it even better, it took less than 3 hours to test drive, finance, and drive home. If I ever buy another VW (which I most likely will) I will definitely make the purchase from him again.
I recently leased a 2016 VW Jetta from Dave Walter. I have nothing but GREAT things to say about the staff, cars, and environment. Being my first car purchase I was a little nervous, but those feelings quickly went away. I was being helped by Tom Hoza, and I would recommend asking for him. Tom was very knowledgeable about the VW cars, and had answers to all of my questions. He was very personable and kind; I never felt uncomfortable or like I was being pressured. Everyone else that I talked to and dealt with was also very nice and helpful. After deciding on the car I wanted the process was not long. I waited less than 10 minutes for my credit approval. All in all, GREAT experience!
So you want to see the true personality of a sales rep? Ask questions, details and reasoning behind offers. We were interested in a demo tiguan. A previous rental. He called us and said it was a huge deal so come on down. When you talk about 30 grand, a huge deal is a couple thousand usually? One would think. But now it wasnt even 500$. Wouldnt budge any further, gave us attitude, used guilt tactics to change our mind, Untold prices we would have to pay.. just an overall negative experience. At Akron Volkswagen.

I recently saw a used car on the website. Called and confirmed the vehicle was there. Brian, who is the internet sales rep, showed me the car. Brian was awesome to talk to and work with. There was no pressure, just straight talk without the typical salesperson attitude or sales-pitches. I am hoping to come back and finish the sale of the car, and Im definitely going back to talk with Brian.
I always go to a dealership to service my cars. While on a trip from AZ, my oil needed changed. I chose this dealership because it was close to my sisters house. While there, I told them I recently had my check tire light come on and had added air to all tires but wanted them to check and rotate them while I was getting serviced. Well, they did, also told me my tread was low and would need new tires. They also said my car was out if alignment and I had them do the alignment. 5 days later, my check tire light comes back in. Seems the rotated a tire that had a nail in it and when we went to a Goodyear store to get new tires, I was told my car was out of alignment. They gave us proof, showing how much and where. When we told them it was just aligned, they said couldnt have been. We contacted the seller dealership right away and went there but the dealership couldnt bring up any records of the misalignment and wont refund our money. I guess out of town VW owners need to be aware. I will be contacting corporate and file a complaint with them. Seems I was told the Akron roads are really tough on your car and I must have hit a bad pothole in the 5 days and less than 30 miles.
Tom Hoza was fantastic. I am recently divorced and was going at this alone for the first time. Tom and everyone at VW made my experience so comfortable and kept me in the loop about every little detail from start to end. I ended up with a great car and I am loving it!
I had such a great experience at vw of akron! Everyone was genuinely nice and did absolutely everything possible to get me into a beautiful new car and to ease my stress about getting out of my previous lease! I very highly recommend them if youre looking for a new vehicle!
I have to give credit to VW of Akron for working to help make the best of a bad situation.Brought in my wifes 2013 Tiguan to service with a camshaft position sensor and some concerning symptoms. After multiple trips they diagnosed the problem as the Turbo. The cost was $3200 for a new turbo so we considered our options of taking the $3200 and putting it towards a new vehicle, or repairing her current car. We opted for the repair.Three months after the repair the exact same fault code and symptoms came back, this time worse. The diagnosis: timing chain. The cost for this: $2600. I was livd because the service department were confident that the turbo was the cause of our problems.In light of this we again started to weigh all our options.Long story short they worked with us to credit us a substantial amount towards a new lease. I do not like leases but considering all the factors of our situation Matt, the sales manager, took time to go over our options and get my family into the best financial situation possible, while still keeping my wife in a car that fits all her needs.I truly believe that they worked hard to get my wife into a safe reliable car and work with us through the tough situation. At the end of the day I want my wife in a car that makes her happy and gives me peace of mind and I dont want to go into massive debt to do it. They went above and beyond for us to try to resolve the position we were in, not just thinking about the short term joy of driving away in a new car but also considering the long term financial health of my family.Bottom line: always be prepared with research when walking into a car dealership for service or sales, but with VW of Akron I would trust that they will work with you to do everything in their power to make you happy and earn your business. They certainly did for my wife and I.

We have bought a car here before and it was a good experience. Recently, we took my daughters 2003 Passat iin for servicing. As with any old car, this time was was going to be involved and expensive. In defense of the car. we purchased it when my daughter turned 16 as it was a good solid safe car with low mileage for the model year. She drove it for 3 1/2 years with no real issues. When we went to the dealership that morning, we had no intention of getting a new car. When we were told that the repairs would be a few thousand dollars, we asked about used or new cars. As I said we have purchased from Dave Walters VW before and they are a fair dealership so we had no reservations about exploring the possibilities with them. Tom Hoza, our salesman, was a breath of fresh air from his funky office to his no pressure, low key approach. He helped get us into a new 2017 Red Jetta demo car, that my daughter loves and at a price that we could handle along with paying for college and everything else.. Aaron Heinleiin, the Lease Manager, we have know for years from his time in the Service Department. Aaron is a great guy, personable, realistic and fair. Finally, we also dealt with David Mitchell, the Business Manager. David has the toughest job of all as he is the This is how much you have to pay guy. Again, David was a really nice guy and he took the time to explain everything to us. This was a spur of the moment experience that left us with a great new car and a good feeling. Changed my review from 2 to 1 star. The finance manager was a disaster. He wanted to try and beat the pre-approved finance rate I had from my bank. Said it would only take 10 minutes, an hour later he showed me options for a higher rate instead of just saying he could not beat it. It ended up taking over 5 hours to complete what should have been a simple purchase. I bought a used 2014 Jeep and paid to have my plates transferred to the vehicle. 25 days later I received a memorandum title in the mail without explanation. 6 weeks later I was stopped by the police and informed my plates were not registered to the vehicle. After contacting the dealership, I was told the car needed an echeck and didnt I receive the title to go get my own plates. Poor communication at best. I have not had dealings with the service side of the business but from the administrative side they are terrible. I will never return to or recommend Volkswagon of Akron.
I feel, my experience was the best possible. Aaron Heinlein was the best salesman that I have ever encountered. He made the car buying process easy, simple and painless. I leased a VW Jetta the day after Christmas, and I was really nervous about the experience. Having Tom Hoza guide me through the process definitely relieved any nervousness I might have had. He was extremely friendly and knowledgeable and I really felt like he was doing everything he could to get the car I wanted for the price I wanted. I’ve been to multiple dealerships over the years to look at cars, and Volkswagen of Akron was one of the worst experiences I’ve had so far.We recently visited on a Wednesday around 3 o’clock looking at Jetta’s for my girlfriend. Our hope was that visiting a larger market like Akron might help with getting a better deal. Peter made sure we got no such thing. First, we stood outside the front of the store and no one asked us if we needed help. After a few minutes the service manager happened to be heading across the street and said hi to us. He then asked if we needed help. We said yes, so he went inside to get a salesman to assist us. Peter came outside as we were browsing the used cars and basically just said “This is what we have”… Ok… so we look around ourselves. My girlfriend has her eyes on a used 2019 R-Line, and Peter repeatedly insists it’s not an R-Line, eventually we point out the R-Line emblem on the side of the car. Next, my girlfriend pulls on the door handle and it happened to be unlocked. Peter replied as if we had personally offended him by opening the car and sitting inside. This must have ruined his tactics or something, we have no idea. We had to make it very clear that she wanted to have a test drive, and Peter finally understood what we were asking for and went to get the keys.The test drive was nice enough, Peter talked to me plenty and was mostly polite, but didn’t ask my girlfriend a single question about her opinion of the car during the whole drive. This perturbed her some considering it was her money buying this car, not mine. There was a warning light on the dash and Peter had no idea what it was, nor any intention of investigating it. He basically said we would still have a warranty and that they would have service look at it later. Turns out it was a tire pressure indicator, which we learned from another dealership as soon as we mentioned the experience and symbol. Glad to know Peter knows the cars he sells…With the test drive over we walk inside to discuss price, which was obviously a waste of Peter’s valuable time. He tells us how all their cars are priced at or below KBB fair market value. I pull up the exact car, from the exact dealership, on AutoTrader, and it clearly shows that this car is above the fair market value range. Peter doesn’t bother figuring out the difference yet repeatedly tells us that it is priced at fair market value, even after getting the same result when putting it into KBB on his own, then told us that it wasn’t worth his time to go to his sales manager for a price. He told us that the most we would get off this car was 100 or 200 dollars. My girlfriend asks again for him to get a final price. He still refuses to go ask but proceeds to pull out a calculator to give us a rough price. The conversation ended with my girlfriend asking “You’re really not going to go get an official price?” and Peter replying “I just told you what it would be and I know there’s no way we will go down from there.” We weren’t even asking him to get a better deal, simply to go get an official price statement, and he refused. We awkwardly left the dealership. He didn’t even ask for a phone number like every other dealer in existence.My girlfriend later sent an email to the dealership, which led to Peter trying to call her about 6 times, leaving one message which was devoid of an apology. She sent a follow up email asking for him to stop calling because she didn’t want to talk to him, and she was definitely not going to buy a car from him. Her only goal was to make them aware of how he had made her feel.3 days later we bought a brand-new Jetta R-Line from another dealership, had a much better experience, and got a much better deal. We will never go back to Volkswagen of Akron and suggest everyone stay away from Peter. He was rude, reaching out to the dealership did absolutely nothing, and a dealership that has high prices and refuses to negotiate is not worth anyone’s time.
I searched across the nation for an used MDX with Advanced package. I Found one online located at Volkswagen of Akron. When I arrived at the dealership, I was pleasantly surprised to see just how clean the vehicle was. Who ever shops for their inventory has a “good eye” for clean cars.My sales Representative, Brian Kazdin, provided me a detailed report of the vehicles condition prior to arriving. He was Knowledgeable, honest and NOT pushy. This was a change from prior experiences with car sales representatives.I would recommend Brian Kazdin and Volkswagen of Akron if your in the market for a used vehicle.
My wife and I recently purchased a vehicle from Volkswagen of Akron and were both very happy with them from start to finish. They really seemed to go the extra mile to help find the exact vehicle we wanted and gave us a great deal on a loaded Atlas. My only disappointment from the experience is that I realized I should have taken a look at how nicely put together and spacious the Atlas is before we got an Acadia earlier this year. My advice to everyone is to give Volkswagen a closer look before buying another vehicle. The quality of this Atlas, inside and out, leaves similar sized and pricier SUVs in its dust. (I publicly stand corrected. My wife did a better job selecting a vehicle than I did.)After working with Cody, Matt, and Anthony for this purchase, I can confidently recommend that you call this dealership if you want a great deal on a car/suv you’ll love. I used to work for a bank and dealt with many dealers but there is one dealer that I keep coming back to. That is Dave Walter VW. I love them, their values, and the sales and service team. I would refer them to anyone even thinking about purchasing a VW. They really wanted (and did) to help me and did everything in their power to correct a wrong that was made by another dealership. Aaron, Dave, and Gary assisted me through this tough deal and I am forever grateful. As well, the service team (especially Mike) was extremely helpful, courteous, and forthright in diagnosing my trade. If you ever want a dealership that treats a person fair and honest, this is the dealership to go to!
I wanted to share my recent experience with Dave Walter VW.After going to several dealerships and feeling like I would rather visit the dentist, we ended up at Dave Walter. From the moment we walked through the doors, I felt a difference with this dealership. Justin Koss was our salesman and he was not only friendly and knowledgeable, but he also did not pressure us into purchasing a vehicle like other dealerships try to do. The GM, Josh Deluco introduced himself to us the moment we walked through the door and made himself available if we needed his assistance. He was very personable and like Justin, did not pressure us to make a purchase. After a couple of test drives, we decided on a VW Beetle that every time we drive it, we love it more and more. After purchasing our new car, we ran into a little situation and when we returned to the dealership and sat down with Josh, he quickly solved the situation with concern for us as the customer and with the utmost professionalism. It was such a wonderful experience to buy a new car without the games and frustrations we have experienced at other dealerships. Dave Walter is an EXCELLENT dealership and its staff is IMPECCABLE!
Im happy to say my experience at Dave Walter Volkswagen was beyond what I was expecting. I was able to make an appointment for the day I called, they repaired my initial problem very easily (engine cover had come loose and was dragging on the ground), and they took the time to show me why it had come loose to begin with (after my last oil change at a generic oil-change shop, the cover had been installed upside down and not all of the screws had been replaced!). Volkswagen also changed two brake bulbs that had burnt out and gave my car a complimentary bath (I was really excited about that last part since a plow truck had just plastered my entire car with some gross mix of salt, snow and dirt the night before). Needless to say, I will definitely be bringing my car back to VW for any repairs or maintenance, even if its just for an oil change- the staff was knowledgeable and friendly (Aaron went over the repairs with me) and I was extremely satisfied with the price. It can be difficult to find a place that both knows what theyre doing and you can trust not to rip you off, so I sincerely recommend this location to other VW drivers as well.
I wish I could give ZERO stars. The service manager I had to deal with about reprogramming my key to my vehicle gave me the hardest time and talked to my mother disrespectfully multiple times today. His name is MIKE BOYLE, he told us that my battery was dead when they went to check the car and that we either could but a $211 battery from them or pay an extra $60 dollars to have them charge it for 30 minutes. When we asked if there was anything else we could do like coming to the dealership to jump the car ourselves because we are on a budget he said “he can refuse us to come do that on their property, and those were our options and if we don’t like it he’ll just push the car into the street and we can get it from there.” Because we told him we’re tight on money and just wanted to see about a cheaper solution. He then told us “well I’m here to make the boss money” but shouldn’t your concern be about the customer?!? CRAZY!!!! His exact words said to us over the phone. When we got there and first met him in person he had a horrible attitude and he gave us the run around. We checked the battery and it wasn’t even screwed in and when we ran that by him he was dumbfounded at first then immediately said “well we’re not getting paid for battery work, to check the battery” yet he called my mom before we got there to immediately get us to buy a $211 dollar battery when my battery was good, we took it to autozone to test it for free!!! He was lying to us up and down to try to get more money. After we addressed him about his attitude he was being nice for the last 30 minutes we were there and he had the audacity to try to apologize, but he was rude to my mom on the phone twice and he refused to try to help us at all, and even in person at the dealership he was rolling his eyes and scoffing at us and we weren’t being disrespectful to him or the employees at the dealership at all. it was his way or no way. I AM THE CUSTOMER. Even when I worked in customer service I still treated people how I would like to be treated when I’m putting money into a company. I absolutely love voltswagen cars but I can honestly say this man made the whole company look bad, and he made a situation that was already stressful and bad for me, far worse. Especially when he THREATENED to push my car off the lot into the street if we didn’t buy a battery or pay them to charge it. I’ll never go to this dealership again. I don’t recommend anyone take their vw to this dealership to get serviced because you will get talked to like you’re nothing and you’ll be running in circles. We also have a recording of how he was speaking to us at the dealership.
Matt, Tom, and Melissa at VW of Akron have left a lasting impression on me. They truly rolled out the red carpet to my family. My mom purchased a VW Tiguan with them earlier in the month with an identical experience. I plan to refer all of my friends and family to them. I welcome the commute to Akron for the level of care and attention to detail they deliver. They earned a customer for life!!!
Highly competent and professional.I am a reviled and widely loathed local figure. This generally leads to intentionally miserable service and work on pretty much everything I pay for. This is always accompanied by a dramatic cough or some other signal to let me know it’s intentional.VW of Akron has provided great work and service regardless of this crusade. They even went as far as to try to get the majority of the work covered by warranty... I’ve been failing to find an adequate metaphor to describe how unlikely and unexpected this is.
Salesman was nice, finance manager was nice. The sale went pretty smooth. But.......they never called to tell me my plates we in. I left 2 messages. The 3rd time I called they didnt know anything. They finally called me back and said they were in. But who knows how long the had been there. You would think they would see them sitting there and say I should probably call this guy. Nope.
I have been using Dave Walter VW for service on my EOS since about 2009 after the dealer that I purchased my car from closed. They are always so helpful and friendly when I call with questions on recalls, parts, or general concerns or been there in person to have the EOS serviced. I have typically worked with Ryan who has always been extremely helpful. Most recently been working with Mike and Sasha. Both very customer focused during my wait while in and out of the store. The friendly and customer focused attitudes of the staff is why I make the trip there!Still the same great service! Special thanks to Mike for his easy to follow explanations and working with me to determine what maintenance I want to do when:-)

This company is overcharging for services, tells you that your new and working parts are bad so they can charge you for more. I took my car in the other day ( I am a mechanic myself and replaced many of the items, so I know they are in working order) and they tried to charge me $6,000 for parts that I knew were brand new. They will screw you over especially if they think you have little to no mechanical knowledge. I recommend that you go to someone you trust or get a second opinion before dealing with them.

2022-03-24I walked into VW of Akron expecting the same overwhelming sales pitches, not being taken seriously as a woman, and lack of regard for what actual needs I had when looking for a vehicle. I was thoroughly impressed from the moment I walked in the door. Earl was welcoming and got me set up with Ammar. Ammar listened to my unique situation, was informative and incredibly down to earth and helpful. He helped to get me out of my Honda lease and into not one, but two Volkswagens that day. The process was easy, enjoyable, and I didnt doubt my decision for a second with them. Financing was easy, Ammar made sure we had the best options, and the warranties and coverage are top notch. I made the mistake of switching from Volkswagen to Honda with my previous lease, but I will be staying with Volkswagen products going forward. All of my future leases and purchases will be through Volkswagen of Akron. Thank you all again for all of your help!

On our visit, he was very down to earth without being either phony or patronizing. Made an immediate connection ( make a friend, make a sale school of thought). Very knowledgeable about the fleet available and was easily able to connect us with the vehicle my wife and I needed. Has the it factor and like I told A. 2022-06-07Honestly if I could give them 0 stars I would. DO NOT take your car here. I had to have my car towed here when it broke down. The estimate that they called me with was completely unrealistic. I ended up calling another Volkswagen dealer and they told me Volkswagen of Akron was overcharging me and to not pay it. I talked them down on price and they asked me to prepay. When I looked at the estimate they were asking me to prepay 10 hours of labor. I asked how they were asking me to pay for an estimated labor time when it hadnt even been performed yet. He said that was just his estimate. I have no clue how you can ask your customer to prepay you for labor that has not been done and you have no clue how long it will take. When I finally went to pickup my car I sat at the front desk for 10 minutes. Finally one of the dealers came over to me and tried to help me. I left a bad review when they emailed and asked for a review and then they never followed up with me to ask about my experience. I will never recommend this place again. This upsetting since I used to take my car here whenever there was a problem.
