Veterans Memorial Park in other cities:
I love this place, its quiet and peaceful. There is a playground for kids, nice restrooms. There are giece, swans and turtles to amuse you while you eat lunch. There are picnic tables and theres a pavilion for partys. Theres a walking path that is 1&1/2 miles long that goes around the park.
Clean park and grass is maintained professionally. The field is open but no clear markings designating which field is labeled field 1, field 2.. etc. Many sports teams utilize the fields and is tough getting a spot even though a reservation is made because field is not marked. Luckily, the coaches are all good citizens and share.Small pond is great for kids fishing and some adults. Track is great for walking/jogging.
Very busy park. It is larger in size but is rather open so you definitely feel like you are in a very public space. The park is generally clean with a nice track to walk/run, playground for kids, pavilions, basketball and tennis courts. Also has a pond with ducks/geese.
I always love this place. Its close to home and there is a little pond. They have ducks and swans. The day we went there it was pretty crowded. We got pizza and ate by the lake. There is a playground for the kiddos. Restrooms are usually clean and well stocked. They have a walk area and basketball courts to get some exercise. Great place when you need to get out of the house for a while.
This is a very nice park. Its clean, well kept, and the ducks, geese and swans waddle around pond oblivious to humans. It is forbidden to feed these animals so they are not used to humans feeding them so they do not mob people who are using the park begging for food. Its a very serine green space with a tennis court, volley ball, and nice walking trail.
I like this park. Im writing this in Aug 2020, and, like, nobody should be at the park right now, but if youre gonna be this isnt a bad one. Lots of places to sit apart from others. Roughly equal sun and shade. Cool lake with only barely-dickish geese. A couple swans. Good walking paths. I find it genuinely enjoyable. I think you can even fish here?
A few friends and I meet for lunch under the shelter. The tables have always been clean. (We bring a table cloth anyway.). Im the youngest and Im 70 so we choose the shelter next to the bathroom. There are tennis courts, corn hole boards, a walking trail with mile markers and benches, a lovely lake with ducks and geese, a Vietnam Era Helicopter. Very relaxing place to talk and enjoy being with friends and children.
This is such a relaxing family park with alot of things to do. They have a huge walking track, basketball, tennis, sand volleyball or badminton, the have corn hole, baseball, soccer, playground picnic tables pavilion to eat grills bathrooms. The only down fall is no pets, skate boards, bikes.
Really nice park, walking trail, picnic shelters and areas near pond and playground for picnic and grills. Soccer and baseball fields, basketball and tennis courts. Clean well kept restrooms. And beautiful tributes to the men, women and canines who served our country. Go check it out!
Its a great park for the kids. It has soccer fields, tennis courts, basketball courts, a mile long path for walking/running and a nice shady duck pond. Its clean and quiet with plenty of parking space. The bathrooms are clean too! It also has numerous vet memorials so you can pay your respect as well.
A nice, local park with a couple fields for soccer and baseball, basketball courts and a couple enclosed tennis courts, a walking trail, small pond and playground. Not as many amenities or activities as Juilf Park, which is also nearby, but this is very close to Eastgate and is easier to swing by for a quick playground visit. The accessibility needs some attention for wheelchair and strollers for the pavilion and the water fountains havent worked in a few years.
We absolutely love this park. We go here to play on the playground and my elderly parents walk the track while my older kids play basketball and tennis. The helicopter is my nine year old sons favorite thing and it even gave us the opportunity to talk about veterans and what the memorial stands for. This park has something for everyone.
A very well maintained park with two laps that offer you beautiful views of things such as a pond with geese and ducks as well and memorials for soldiers and a helicopter. With a sand volleyball court, tennis courts, basketball courts, the two laps, baseball and soccer fields, public restroom which are very clean and do not smell, various kids parks and plenty of seating with cover, this park is a perfect place to take your family and enjoy the day!
Usually a very nice park and go frequently. Has public WiFi if you need that kind of thing at a park. Went there yesterday and there was no power in the restroom building and the water fountain wasnt working either. Hopefully it will be fixed soon and I will update this review. Other people that go there are usually friendly no crime or drug usage that I have ever seen I feel safe taking my kid there to play
A great place to go Poke hunt. There are a lot of Poke Stops and you will meet a lot a friendly people while youre out aimlessly chasing Charmander. The walking trails are clear of debris and fairly effortless. Its never overly crowded and there is ample benches and picnic coves if you need a break. The childs play area could use some TLC and maybe a few upgrades but all-in-all this is a nice park.
Not a lot to do here. The playground is in disrepair and faces the sun so most of the day the metal slides and equipment are too hot to use. The ground is covered with duck poop and there is always trash all over the ground. Some of the playground equipment is loose or wobbles tending to throw children if they try to sit down , much of it creaks loudlyWhen it rains, the water collects in the mulch under the play structure, making a giant muddy moat directly where the kids play. There are always trash and cigarette butts in the sand pit, which is a pretty sad little corner of the playground to begin with. Dont bother trying to use the nearby volleyball sand as an alternative. Same problems there ; socks, underwear, used bandaids and trash in the sand. The parking lot is full of potholes and people use it as a shortcut to avoid the light at the corner so there are always care flying through without paying attention.Theres a drinking fountain but Ive literally never seen it turned on.
Parking, covered area with tables for gathering and plenty of tables so social distancing can be practiced, tennis courts, basketball courts, paved walking/ running path a shorter and a longer course connected so you can get a quick run or walk in without having to double back or go a long route. A man made pond/lake with swans and a finished shore line. The shore has a defined edge so watch your step and little ones to keep from falling in the water. I believe that fishing used to be permitted but unsure if that is still true and what the required permits would be. I would say a fishing license is a definite as this is a township or county park. Plenty of parking in the center of the park and also soccer and ball fields too. Something for every fitness and age level.
Veterans memorial park has a couple of playing fields, a paved jogging path thats about a kilometer long, tennis courts, and a number of lovely memorials to our nations veterans. There are bathrooms that are generally open (and heated in the winter time). It can be quite busy when there are practices happening there, so not enough parking at times. But, its a nice spot for a quick walk or jog in the open air.
Took my child here to enjoy the playground and was very disappointed. The playground is very poorly designed. The swings are made of the kind of material that holds heat, so I couldnt swing my daughter because the swing would have burned her skin.Same for the slides and most of the climbing equipment ; in the middle of the afternoon when most children are there to play, there is nothing to enjoy that wont burn them upon contact. I tried to swing on the big kid swings but they are hung so high that most adults wouldnt be able to touch the ground with their feet once on.I tried to salvage our visit by moving into the shady grass near the pond but it was a solid carpet of duck and goose poop, so we couldnt even sit in the grass to relax. Wont be back because there is nothing there we can enjoy.
Its a small park that does have the helicopter and a few other war monuments that are pretty cool. There are also soccer fields, basketball courts, sand volleyball courts, picnic area, a playground and walking trails. The only thing that bugs me is you arent allowed to bring dogs. I guess because it is on the corner of two busy roads, but kind of annoyed me.
Beautiful and well maintained park. Nice easy paved walking trail, jungle gym, soccer fields, baseball diamond, picnic shelters, volleyball area, basketball court, and tennis court. Beautiful monuments and memorials for our veterans. Currently has a pokemon gym and a bunch of pokestops.
Love to walk here... My only issue is that the rules of this park are not followed... Its a bike free skate free dog free park... Ive almost been hit by kids on bikes... Dogs have jumped on me... Dog poop not picked up... I love animals but I walk here so I dont have to deal with all the above... There are many dog parks and parks where you are allowed bikes skates etc...
One of the busiest parks around. Paved walking trail, basketball courts, small pond, covered picnic area. Things for many age groups. Also known as the Helicopter Park...which has a full size helicopter at the corner insection. Union township provides many things activities at this park.
I took my mom and dog there since it was close to her hotel. When we pulled and parked saw no signs indicating rules . It had a nice paved loop and we began our walk ,with my well trained dog on a 6 foot leash. Soon after we began a grouchy older gentleman yelled at us that this was not a dog park. Well we knew it was,not a dog park thats why my dog was leashed. When we get half wat around the loop we noticed a sign that had a very long list of things you could not bring into the park, bikes, skateboards, rollarblades, and no domestic animals. I guess that needed further explanation so another sign was attached stating NO DOGS! Well we felt bad, we would have never gone to that park if we had seen the sign. The problem was when you pull into that park, instead of being visable directly in front of you the sign sits further back facing towards your left .This must happen frequently, I really only check a new paved parks rules regarding dogs unless the words nature preserve are in the title.
AKA the Helicopter park (has public WiFi)Floods after a lot of rain, next to a pond so watch out for toddlers, good play equipment, has swing sets. Also, has restrooms, tennis court, basket ball court, 2 baseball fields, soccer field, sand volley ball, walking track, two covered picknick areas.*Not much shade from trees. Playground floods. Drowning risk.
Veterans park is very easy to find with many attractions. With a giant helicopter out front near the Clermont fire department, you can easily spot it from Clough Pike of Glen Este Withamsville rd. The park offers a well marked 1 mIle loop around the park as well as a standard sized track. There are public bathrooms and a big parking lot as well as a covered area for group picnics. Some features of the park include tennis, volleyball and basketball courts, as well as a play structure for kids and a pond with catch and release fish.

2021-09-14This photo really says it all. The park is geared towards elderly people who hate animals and get stressed out seeing people on wheels. Very little shaded areas. The playground is usually empty... which is a bit of a plus... and why we go there occasionally but all in all it is a below average park with a gross man-made pond. The swans are not even given a platform out on the water. They appear to allow smoking... which is beyond disgusting . This has led to cigarette butts around tables and in the playground mulch. Like I said... not really kid friendly/family friendly since it is extremely restricting. We only go when we are strapped for time due to temperatures rising too quickly in summer because it is so close... but in all honesty i think it needs a serious revamping and the rules need to be updated. Or at least put a paved area for kids to play on wheels. Even if it is just flat pavement fenced in. Just an old memorial type park.

2022-04-25A beautiful park with a playground, pond with a fountain, tennis courts, volleyball, baseball, soccer, and a mile-long track! Plenty of shelter as well as several memorials to checkout. The bathrooms are typically in good shape but the park gets busy. I go here all the time and I love it. This is where my fiancé and I had our first date, and where he proposed.

2022-03-03Great park a little weathered but it could definitely more wood chips or new turf. The kids were too short to get up on the swings because there wasnt enough cover.Great park otherwise, quite a lot of kids.

2022-05-29Simple park to walk around.Lots of pokestops! Theres a few nice views like a little pond with swans and geese, a memorial point with a helicopter and a few little trees to sit under.Thered not much woods if youre looking for hiking. Its just a little central town like park.My biggest con is that there are people fishing in the pond though, i think one of the threads or hooks mightve got hooked on the swans leg as it holds it out of the water and limps a lot. I really dont think people should be fishing here since hooks and lines are a huge danger for the animals. (Fish having hooks in them and the geese eating them, or they get tied up in someones cut string etc)

2017-08-30Beautiful park. Very peaceful. They have outlets under the covered shelter so you can plug in your phone or laptop and work. This would also be handy for a gathering! This is a Vietnam Veterans Memorial as well, they have an actual helicopter on display that was flown during the Vietnam war. There have areas for tennis, volleyball, basketball, soccer, baseball, and track. They have a well marked walking path that marks start and finish for 1 mile. The best part about this park is that the police station is literally next door, and the firehouse is directly across the street. I have never felt safer at any park. The entire track is viewable, no part of it goes through any wooded area.As many years as I have visited I have never seen any issues. 😃

2022-06-27Boo boo and boo. No dog park and no one there. Loss of land... But at least some pickle ball. Veterans deserve better

2019-04-07Wonderful little place to go for a run. The memorial itself is nice and the park was well kept. They have a little pond and it was nice to see a swan swimming around. There is a nice area to play basketball or cricket, Ive seen play play both there. Would definitely recommend for a little jog.

2022-05-29Its a nice, very large, suburban park with soccer fields, baseball diamonds, tennis courts, pickle ball courts, basketball, and a large playground area with lots of equipment. There is a marked and paved one mile track that is almost perfectly level, so its easy for almost anyone to walk around. The large shaded pavilion has lots of picnic tables and Ive heard they have outlets so you can charge your mobile devices. The mens and womens rest rooms are centrally located and well maintained. As a Vietnam veteran I appreciate how the Township honored our fallen brothers in the naming of the park. The only drawback of the park is the copious goose excrement on some of the walking/jogging track, but most of the track is clean.
