We love visiting the beautiful view of the lake on our daily walks.
Great place to go when its warm out or even if its cold enough to walk on frozen water. A nice small beach area and a lovely boardwalk.
Need alot work done there. Beach part needs major work to make it more safe. Nothing been done in 16 yrs. More parking. Whole thing needs make over. But Ive to go once in while.
Great 105 Howitzer display with commemorative plaques to those men lost from WW1 onward. Great views of Lake Erie and benches to sit and relax. A little quiet getaway from the busy world to contemplate the sacrifice others have made for our country and freedom.

We love this park. The city has worked on it over the years. More parking. Clean restrooms. More picnic tables. Very nice walkway along Lake Erie. It is also a very nice remembrance of our veterans. There are always people there, especially at sun down. Beautiful views of the lake as far as the eye can see. It is easy to take it for granted since it is so close, but put it on your list of great reasons you live in or new Avon Lake. 5 stars.
I grew up here. My grandpa had a boat at the boat club. Now I get to share memories with my children. Its beautiful there.

Love this park. Nice facilities benches, grills, kid friendly. Easy access to the beach area. Great sunsets too.
I walk my dog here almost every evening. I opposed the construction of a gazebo in the middle of the park because it would ruin the view of the lake. The new gazebo is tucked out of the way. It is smaller than originally planned, so doesnt obstruct the view of the lake very much.
Teen Covid party hang out. Had to leave. There were around 50 teens having a party. No social distancing. Normally this one of my favorite spots on Earth. Its beautiful and clean.

You can walk down and look for glass, and get wet in the waves if you want to, but the swimming beach is gone. Posted no swimming.The park its self is 5 star. Flush toilets that are open. Gorgeous view of the lake from the lawn. A few people brought chairs and a book. It was in the 60s with a brisk wind (,in July) a jacket would have been nice.A visit to the adjoining cemetery is a must small, but historic. The Howitzer and the surrounding plaques, reminds one of the genuine sacrifice made for us.

Great place to come and watch the sunset for those that love doing that. Small area to walk and look out onto the water from the cliff above. Grassy areas for activities and games. Some picnic tables and benches for sitting and eating as well. Nice park!

All of as von lake residents do like the park right on lake rd because it is a good place to go there if and when you feel warm then you can choose to go up there for being cool under the shade plus including enjoying the lake view
A peaceful spot on Lake Erie in Avon Lake. We frequently stop at the nearby McDonalds for breakfast sandwiches of a Sunday morning and take them to Veterans Park to enjoy the lake view and the activities around us. Swimmers practice their skills under the eyes of watchful parents, the Sunday yoga group is well attended. After eating, we stroll around the park before heading home. A delightful start to a sometimes hectic day!
Peaceful place to sit on the benches and just enjoy the beautiful sun setting over Lake Erie. It was so pleasant there this evening that there was a Tae Kwon Do class and a yoga class going on, people eating out at the picnic tables, biking and walking.
Avon Lakes Veterans Memorial Park is a pleasant little - emphasis on little - public access spot to an equally small patch of Lake Erie beach.Perched on a low cliff, which offers a panoramic view of the lake, the parks one drawback is its postage-stamp size - the public area is scarce 100 yards along the cliff, with parking for only perhaps two-dozen vehicles.It does feature a large, old house that serves as city park headquarters and provides limited group meeting space in non-COVID times.It is an attractive, if tiny place, but geared mostly to residents who live close enough to walk or bike to its confines.A much better spot for out-of-area visitors is the spacious Huntington Beach, five miles to the east along the same Lake Road in Bay VillageVeterans is lovely and well-appointed, just too small to allow distancing.

Who doesnt love the pounding of the waves on a beautiful clear day? This park is so nice as you dont have to walk across grass, sand, or rocks to get to a bench. The lake view is just magnificent!!

Its an ok park for the less active people. Dont waste your time if you are looking for a place to get a good walk in. The path isnt very long, the beach is scant, and the sidewalk runs out.The sunset is pretty, but there isnt a great vantage point to get a proper view.
I love this park! I do yoga and have yoga classes there every summer. Im glad they built extra bathroom facility. Great place that doesnt always get too crowded and great for watching sunsets.

Stunning view, great beach, boat launch. Rentable party center with plenty of room. Plenty of outdoor space to walk around. Park closes at sundown. A quintessential piece of Avon Lake being the northernmost publicly available park of the city.

Clean, well maintained. There is NOT a beach. A grassy lawn which has stairs going into the water.Breaker walls are close enough together to inhibit lengthier swims (a la Huntington Beach).
Popular now in the summer for sunsets but not so much through past years. Only minutes from my house, been visiting for 30 years. Frozen lake in the winter is awesome too.
You can walk over to house and sit on the veranda on some great rocking chairs and look at the lake!
Beautiful park! I went for the Rock the Lake festival where I saw some interesting large pieces of furniture and other items to decorate a home. It was a gorgeous and worth the trip even though I purchased nothing.

Veterans Memorial Park is a beautiful public park along Lake Erie in Avon Lake, OH. It has beautiful vistas of Lake Erie. Today there was a Wine Festival with 9 local wineries. It was a wonderful event.

It is a nice spot to stop and look at Lake Erie. There is a spot to wade and swim. There is also a nice memorial that is a tribute to many who have served.

Nice park, very clean beach. I suggest water shoes, though. There are a lot of rocks in the water.
This is a real beautiful place, you can swim here, walk your dog here, get food, and get to see a huge body of water, so huge it looks like an ocean.
Free parking, lawn area for picnic and benches for lake viewing. Nice artillery piece too.

2021-08-14This spot was recommended to us by the owner of a local restaurant as I let him know we were taking our food and looking for a park to enjoy. The lake was angry and the waves hitting the shore and water spray provided amazing sounds and feels. They were setting up for a wedding or reception which looked like a cool spot for an event like that. There a number of picnic tables and benches throughout the park providing for options for how you want to enjoy the atmosphere. Looking for a quiet place to eat, walk, read, sun, or just take in the moment. This is the spot.

2022-06-19Its a small park, nice for sitting and watching the waves or maybe having a picnic. There is public restrooms if you need to use them. It has a nice gazebo for potential picture taking and benches facing the lake. Its a nice place for a quick trip.

2021-08-21The memorial grounds were decently tended, the cannon was a hit with my husband (ret. Army) and it is conveniently located as a roadside stop. There is an historical home alongside which seems to be used for the public good, as well as a spot to launch a fishing kayak and other sort of watercraft.

2021-04-26A wonderful place to watch the sunset over Lake Erie.There are boat launches and a cemetery featuring many names familiar even today as the roads and avenues are named after them.As you might expect, there are often lots of families. Its right on the lake. Dress accordingly. 🌬
