The absolute worst experience! Dr. Molnar is rude, unprofessional, and incredibly insensitive. If you love your pet, I strongly urge you to find a caring veterinarian. Clearly she has been desensitized over the years and this clinic is all about money and zero compassion for our furry loved ones.On 06/18 we had to make the painful decision to put our 16 year old cat down. When I called the day before to schedule, it was explained that they were only allowing 2 family members in at a time due to Covid. We are a family of 3 and when I asked if there was any way we could all be present, she explained she could not guarantee but we could interchange as needed. My daughter and husband went in at first and then after about 10 minutes I went in while my 12 year old sat sobbing alone in the car. They immediately came in for payment....it was a business transaction that lacked any care or empathy. When I asked again to please allow us to bring my daughter in, Dr. Molnar refused my request stating They are doing the best they can with Covid! Mind you the Governor has lifted all orders, so this was in fact her personal policy. We are also all vaccinated and we were all wearing mask. Dr. Molnar also used this moment as an opportunity to reprimand my husband when she entered the room and she saw that he had pulled his mask down to console our pet in her final moments. There was a dog crying and yelping the entire time in the room next door which obviously had our cat very tense. Considering the nature of our appointment, I would have thought they would have taken this into consideration. I said I would go out to allow my daughter to come back in and Dr. Molnar immediately said that was now not allowed. If I leave, I must stay out and my daughter was not allowed to return. Clearly, they do not have a protocol that all staff is aware of and following consistently. I am very clear on Covid protocols as I work in a very high risk area and almost all of our restrictions have been lifted. They made our final moments so much more difficult and I will forever regret not leaving and seeking care elsewhere. As a pet lover I have experienced having the loss of a pet before, its never easy! My previous veterinarians were wonderful and made those moments easier by showing empathy and compassion. I recall getting follow up calls and just a feeling of genuine care for not only us but more importantly, our pets.
Weve been taking all of our pets here for nearly a decade. Quality of service has severely dropped lately. The vet that used to give us the best service doesnt seem to be here anymore. One of our dogs needed a surgery fairly urgently. In the past they would have found a way to squeeze her in to the schedule. They sent us to an emergency clinic where the surgery would have cost well over $6k... In these uncertain times, that was simply not an option for us. We were able to find another vet that was compassionate enough to take her in (even though wed never been there before) and literally saved us thousands while still providing outstanding care.
I have taken my dogs here for the past 11 yrs and will not be returning due to a negative experience a few days ago. Adopted a dog that was vetted by a VCA Office in Columbus. The dog needed treated for a positive lab test and Beavercreek VCA told me that I would have to pay to have the test repeated again.Would not honor a lab test from another VCA Office! Since the change to being Corporate owned, they seem to be much more about the money before anything else.
I had to take my pit/lab mix there on 5-6-2020 because he was in severe pain and I wasn’t sure what was wrong. This was the only place that MADE an opening for him, it was late afternoon. Now mind you we was new patients but when I called the vet tech that answered said let me ask the dr. If we can squeeze him in and they did. I was beyond thankful for that and once we got there the ENTIRE staff including Dr. Calhoun was so great with my baby. Impressed me enough that moving forward that will be the ONLY place I go! And I have told everyone with furbabies how exceptional the staff was. Thank you all!
Ive been using this Vet for about 5 years. The building is nothing much but the staff has always been friendly. The Doctors seem to be knowledgeable. They have treated my dog without issues and have taken extra time answering questions about dog behavior.I started going here because they had the cheapest shots and kenneling I could find at that time.
Three months ago I rated them 5 stars. In a series of events in one week, I will no longer take my babies to this vet. The staff made me feel totally unimportant. I told them I would take my business elsewhere and they said okay to that. So I did. All over poor communication from them to me about renewing my dogs meds. They need to treat people better. I ask to speak with the Vet and they told me she was not available today.
I highly recommend this vet. I have been taking my pets there for years. They have never failed to call the next day and check on my pups if they had any kind of procedure or illness. They have wonderful, organized staff who genuinely care about their patients. They are reasonably priced and extremely compassionate. I highly recommend Dr. Molnar... She is the best!
We had to take our poor puppy to this vet today on an emergency basis because our normal vet was closed. We could not be more happy with the service we received! Everyone treated us and our baby with such compassion just as we would. The place was super clean, the room were spacious, the parking was ample, and EVERYONE (I mean EVERYONE) was so kind! Because of this experience, we are even considering changing vets. Thank you so much!!!
I have been bringing my pets here for almost ten years. Everyone and everything was wonderful at the beginning. As the years have gone by costs have gone up (which is understandable due to cost of living going up but some of the costs are just ridiculous) and attitudes are coming out. The last time I brought one of my pets in for a checkup I couldnt believe the things the vet was telling me, trying to push services, and I couldnt believe the snide looks I recieved from the front desk personnel when I had a question about my bill. My pets are getting older and I need a clinic I can depend on to be honest and caring and Im not sorry to say......it wont be here.
A year ago my kitty had to have 10 teeth removed. Today I noticed she was continually rubbing her cheek against hard objects. Being very concerned I called. The office staff listened to my concerns and said to come in immediately. My Sheba was seen by Dr. Molnar who was wonderful. (The vet we saw last year was wonderful also but she had moved to Columbus). I cant thank all involved enough. Fortunately Sheba was fine.THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH.
My elderly cat was having major breathing issues the day I got back from vacation. I called there & an appointment was necessary, but when I explained my issues, they asked if I could get there in 10-15 minutes for their last appointment. Although my Monet passed there, they were so very caring & compassionate. Highly recommend them.
My family has been going here for over 20 years, I took my dog here today because she has been really sick and I was afraid she was getting dehydrated. We were greeted by a different doctor other than our usual which was fine, because my dog is so small he wanted to do an x-ray and blood work... I said that was fine, he also gave her fluids and some medicine and when I got to the front desk my total was over $400!!!! I was in complete shock... I expected maybe $200 but surely not over $400 without being told before that the cost would be so high! I won’t be back because the price was just outrageous. The office staff is always wonderful but I’m sure they noticed the state of shock I was in checking out. Very disappointed I have to change vets because a doctor failed to let me know my total would be so high before he ran the outrageously priced tests. Also I am one who NEVER posts bad reviews so it takes a lot for me to post a bad review by the shock of the bill is truly upsetting
Very bad experience. I pulled in parking lot to call in ask the front desk a question.I was the first one there on a Saturday morning there was only one other car in the parking lot the young lady that answered the phone refused to answer any of my questions without a credit card number. When I told her she was a piss-poor employee she hung up on me.I waited five minutes tried to call back and no one would answer the phone.I have found a new vet to go to if anybody wants a referral for beavercreek animal hospital I would tell them stay away.
This vet seems knowledgeable, but they do not disclose their prices, nor inform you before doing a procedure that they will later charge you for. We needed to get X-Rays done and they could not get them done until later in the week, but still had us come in for a pre-evaluation (charged for an entire visit). My wife asked the vet to check our dog’s ear because she had been itching it more than “normal”, the vet said it looked normal, but swabbed the ear and left the room. When we went to leave we were informed that there was an additional ~$40 we were paying for the ear test and disposal. I asked when leaving how much they charge for the x-rays (our dog would need to be sedated for the procedure) and none of the clerks were able to give us a quote. It seems that they are just out to increase the bill, regardless of whether or not your pet needs a particular service.Overall, the communication we’ve had with them has been sub-par and we will be going elsewhere.
I took my pet in on a Friday as he wasn’t himself and had been losing weight. I was not greeted by the receptionist....wasn’t really even acknowledged for a minute or so. Blood work didn’t show anything, but he was dehydrated. No suggestions were given concerning his lack of appetite and need of more fluids. Over the weekend, his condition stayed the same. I called the vet and they offered to prescribe antibiotics “it wouldn’t hurt” I was told. By friday he was worse, I asked to have him admitted to the hospital and I was the one to suggest an IV for fluids. Why didn’t the vet suggest fluids and an appetite stimulant a week earlier?Unfortunately, my cat had to be euthanized after several more days. When I returned to pick up his ashes, I was again not greeted by either of the girls at the front desk. I was given the box with his ashes with not even a “I’m sorry for your loss”. I had brought my cat in with a blanket and one of my t-shirts to comfort him, so I asked for them. The girl looked around and brought out the blanket, but said the shirt was nowhere to be found. She said, “it may have been cremated with the cat... sometimes they do that”. I left dumbfounded at the lack of compassion and care that one would expect to find at an animal hospital.I WILL say that while the cat was in the hospital, the assistant and doctor kept me informed of his progress and seemed to be taking good care of him. However, my overall experience and evaluation is that I would not use this facility again.
Went here over 10 years but one of our dogs died due to a tumor they missed at an appointment right before and more recently they tried to force us to an emergency vet for what could have been a routine surgery because they refused to squeeze us in. Emergency wanted $6-9k. Got a new vet instead.
Everytime you go in, even just for shots you are charged $50 for a health exam, even if you were there 3 or 4 weeks before and you are having your dog return for the next shot in the series. You pay for the shots and then $50 on top for the visit. You are not told if these charges ahead of time.
Dr. Calhoun is wonderful, but his front desk staff is incredibly rude. They would not even look at our puppy, who was in excruciating pain due to having a thorn in his paw that we could not remove. He could not even stand up without yelping in pain. They were about to close and said they were too busy, but they had time to try and collect money from us for a prior appt for our cat because they said they didnt charge us enough that day. We left and went to Banfield and they got the thorn out of his paw in about 2 seconds. I would not recommend going to Beavercreek Animal Hospital when they dont even care enough about an animal to take a few seconds to remove a thorn from his paw. Dr Calhoun needs new staff.
Brought my cat in 3 months ago....they charged us $700.00 by running all kinds of tests and then said they couldnt find anything wrong with him. Today, Smudge had to be put down by an emergency vet.....he said Smudge had Lymphoma. How hard is it to diagnosis Lymphoma in a cat? They ran blood tests, x-rays, urinalysis, palptations, gave him steroids and sent him out the door. I would never recommend this place to anyone who loves their pet.....they just run up the bill and offer no solutions, recommendations, or after-care.After he left their facility, he continued to decline. We took him to another vet and asked Beavercreek Animal Hospital to forward his x-rays and tests to that vet so she could have a better idea of what was going on with him. They gave us the run-a-round and never even bothered to forward the medical records we paid $700 for.Completely and totally unprofesstional.Stay away if you have a really ill animal.
I think one the reviews on here is reviewing the wrong clinic. We are not in Oregon! I LOVE Beavercreek Animal Hopsital in Beavercreek Ohio! The vet that we have most the time takes the time to get down on the floor and comfort my pets instead of strapping them to a table and making them sit still. My dogs love going to the vet!! In particular we have a boy with a sensitive system and they have always taken such good care of him!
I brought my guinea pig in after she had stopped eating and drinking much for a few days. The doctor we saw spent a total of 5 minutes with us, looked her over but really didnt do much of an examination. He proceeded to tell me that it was a problem with her teeth and that more than likely I would have to force feed her by syringe the rest of her life or have her put down. So, I spent the next few days force feeding her before taking her to another vet for a second opinion. The second vet said her teeth were perfectly fine after actually looking in her mouth (something the first vet didnt even do) and after a very thorough examination and some tests determined that she had a urinary infection and just needed antibiotics. This facility clearly does not cater to Guinea pigs properly, which is fine. But, do not advertise as such, wasting peoples time and money.
We had been using another vet closer to home. Our 4.5 yr old female boxer tore her left CCL, and we were searching for options less expensive than the TPLO surgery ($3,000+).We heard about Dr Jeff Schumann from a doggie daycare we use. Dr Schumann examined our dog and recommended the traditional repair, which essentially is 80 lb fishing line wrapped in a figure 8 around the stifle tendons, which keeps the joint together until scar tissue forms to stabilize it. I was concerned because the dog is very active, and Dr Schumann assured me that the procedure was tried and true.It was also much less expensive than TPLO.We had the procedure done, and followed up with physical therapy for a few weeks. Our dog had NO complications!Today, she is back to her slobbery, silly self, and can leap as well as ever. You have to look for her scar which is very faint.Beavercreek Animal Hospital gets my highest recommendation
This vet is TERRIBLE! I took my sun conure there as soon as I noticed he was sick. They kept him there for four hours and then I finally asked how hes doing and they say they lost him, there was nothing they could do! They did no blood work, x-rays or anything. When I asked what happened the doctor replied Who knows. They could have at least tried to save him, but instead they did nothing! They still charged me $64 bucks for doing nothing! The yellow naped amazon parrot they have on display looked sick also, I was there for four hours and he had no food or water or even bowls in his cage the whole time! These people do not care about birds, maybe dogs, but not birds. Please do not take your bird here, instead go to a strictly avian vet.
Thank you folks. I already love these guys. I had an issue with my sugar glider. Doctor took the time to help me more understand the pros and cons of glidars etc. The girls welcomed me both on the phone and when we got there. Thanks so much. Oh I might mention I smiled when I got the bill.

2022-01-22Ive debated leaving this review simply because Ive always loved the care provided at Beavercreek Animal Hospital. But today I stood, fighting tears, as I faked a cheerful smile and paid my bill after being seen my Dr. Molnar. Never in my adult life have I been spoken to the way she spoke to me today. While I will not critique her care or consideration for my pet, as I know I brought upon a complicated case, some of her remarks were so absolutely bitter that I drove home in a full blown panic attack. On one occasion, I mentioned how working between two vets (them and a specialist) has been difficult, and Id hoped to consolidate my animals care. I understand this wasnt possible. It was a bit of friendly pie in the sky banter, as I was trying to let her know how much I appreciate the care my animals normally receive there. But she bit back with, Well, I know thats what you want, but its not going to happen. She cut me off on multiple occasions and spoke to me as if I was a child. Everything that came from her mouth was condescending.I see many of the same remarks in the reviews about her overall lack of kindness. No one should leave the vet for a check-up while fighting tears that the vet caused. Since nothing has been done, clearly these reviews are not being taken seriously, despite management commenting and asking those with negative experiences to reach out via email. If my animals continue care here, my husband will be the one to bring them because I will absolutely not be made to feel the way I was today. Im afraid to even walk back in for fear of seeing her again.Everyone else Ive worked with has been wonderful, including the front desk workers. I hate saying goodbye to this clinic but the condescending from Dr. Molnar was unacceptable and I regret not telling her in person.

2022-04-25Our cashier Lindsey P. was not very kind. I walked and told her I was only there to pick up a prescription and she said “Well you are going to have to wait because I have three people on hold right now”…. I wasn’t rushing her so I don’t know why she had to say it the way she did. I just know my husband and I have spent thousands of dollars at this vet, and just to be talked to like that? So I got all of my vet records and our animals now go to a different vet. Not to mention, I feel like our veterinarian was never too invested in listening to us and what was truly going on with our pet. We are now at Oakwood Animal Clinic and Dr. Mark B is fantastic!

2022-07-09Please dont take your animals here. I had an awful experience with the advice given to me by both vets currently at this practice. My husband and I adopted a kitten back in March, took her to this vet in May for a first appointment. When she was adopted, we were told by the rescue she needed the last of her three step vaccine. When I took my kitten to this vet, they told me she was fully vaccinated because they looked at her paperwork wrong. I was then told and not given an option to vaccinate my kitten for feline leukemia because I keep her indoors. My kitten also has a diagnosis of autoimmune stomatitis (basically gingivitis for cats) that was diagnosed by the vet at the rescue. This is a healthy kitten who is doing well with the autoimmune disease until I took her to this vet. My kitten is eating, playing and acting like a normal kitten. Both vets at Beavercreek Animal Hospital ignored what I had to say and insisted that my kitten needed emergency surgery to remove all of her teeth. I was also told her autoimmune disease would be cured by removing all of her teeth. If you know how autoimmune diseases work, whether in humans or animals, thats not how it works. They then sent me a quote for $1400 to $1600 for surgery and told me this kitten maybe wouldnt make it through surgery but I should do it anyways. I opted not to do the surgery using my better judgment.I then took her to Vetrinary Preventative Care down the road for a second opinion after this experience. My kitten has healthy roots to her teeth that Beavercreek Animal Hospital insisted she needed pulled. Beavercreek Animal Hospital wanted to pull my kittens healthy rooted teeth and possibly wanted to risk her life with surgery when its not necessary. FYI if they would have pulled her teeth from healthy roots it would have been a traumatic experience for her and she may have not made it through recovery. Please take your pets for a second opinion if the vets at Beavercreek Animal Hospital say they need surgery. The vet here also claimed to be a vet for over 20 years yet had little to no experience with cats. The next vet who came in, who supposedly had experiences with cats like mine, hardly looked at her and insisted she needed surgery. Both vets also ignored me when I said she wasnt sickly. This place takes advantage of those who want the best for their pets, but dont recommend the best for your pets. I will never recommend them to anyone after this. They only wanted my money.

2021-10-11I do not know what has transpired in this practice in the last year but I will never return! Dr Molnar did a surgery on my dog that resulted in such awful recovery that he had to have a repeat surgery. Dr Burger implied that I am a liar and did not properly care for my pet. She might be the most condescending person I’ve ever talked to-she does not listen! Dr Calhoun did the repeat surgery and the results were better but still not great! All Dr Molnar wants to say is she is “so busy” and “doesn’t have time” -not a great way to keep trust! Dr Wolf was the best! This place is awful since he left and I wouldn’t recommend it to my worst enemy!! And if zero stars were available, trust me that’s what I would have gave.

2021-03-25We have been taking our dog here for 7+ years. When Dr. Wolf still ran the practice, it was excellent - always professional, responsive, and not trying to pill push or recommend the most expensive option. The doctors there now just seemed concerned with making a sale of some sort - pills, surgery, etc. The joining of a national chain of animal hospitals was their demise. They are more focused now on money than animal care.We have taken our dog in multiple times for the same issue. The doctor ignores the issue and instead tries to make us feel bad that our dog has arthritis and has mentioned surgery to help with it. You dont do surgery for arthritis! She also keeps trying to prescribe a pill that our dog cannot take after a bad reaction trying it previously. EVERY visit she still tries to give it to us.I also do not like how they handle the no contact visits. You do not get to speak with the vet before they see your pet. You talk to a tech who then relays concerns to the vet. It is a game of telephone gone bad. Our last visit the information relayed to the vet was completely wrong. When we did speak to the vet after the exam and corrected her on what the issue was, we were told that didnt exist and continued to make us feel bad about the arthritis.Only positive is the front desk staff.I will NEVER take another pet to this place.

2021-01-19Ive gone here with all my pets (1 dog, 2 cats, 2 guinea pigs) over the last 6 1/2 years. The doctors and staff are professional, yet caring and gentle. My sweet, beloved dog Drake had to sadly be put down last week, and for the last month and a half of his life the doctors were kind enough to squeeze him in same-day weekly (sometimes multiple times a week) to make sure he got the treatment and comfort he needed. They also have squeezed him into their schedule in times past when he was ill. The doctors and staff truly do care about our furbabies, and Im so grateful to have them nearby to provide such excellent care!

2021-03-13When I couldn’t get my rescue pup anymore appointments on base I searched around Beavercreek. This was the only place accepting new patients, apparently other places don’t think other animals need to be taken care of. They are friendly, very responsive and always take care of my pup. The vet is always very explicit and knowledgeable of what she has to say and any concerns even after he has worn her down in the first ten minutes of his appointment 😂. I will never go back on base while I live here, this Vet Clinic is top notch from the two appointments he has had.

2021-07-09Highly recommend! Drs Berger, Molnar, Smith & staff have been knowledgeable & compassionate with my 2 aging cats. Swift & accurate diagnoses of pancreatitus, diabetes, IBS & allergies have kept my pets alive & well. They know how to communicate & follow up. The cost is consistent with other vets. This VCA-affiliated vet hospital is staffed with dedicated health care professionals & Im glad to have found them.
