This evening I had dinner for the first - but definitely not the last - time at Vasilis Greek Cuisine. It was really an enjoyable experience.I started with a Mediterranean salad. It was fine, and certainly very generous, but not out of the ordinary. If youre planning on having a dinner entrée with a side as well, I dont recommend adding on one of their large salads. Theyre very large, and even I, with a Santa-sized appetite, ended up with more than I needed. From there on, everything was glorious. The lemon-based chicken soup was creamy and really delicious, and very filling in its own right. Served nice and hot, I should add. Not tepid, as too often happens in some restaurants. Then the masterpiece: pastitsio. Imagine the best lasagna youve ever had, and then add a few extra flavors, just to make it really intriguing. I ate it slowly, in part because the large salad and rich soup had already filled me, but mostly because I wanted to linger over and enjoy every bite. A real masterpiece.Add to that friendly but not obtrusive service, and you have one very enjoyable dining experience.Go! Youll not regret it.
Very nice! Very clean! Very respectful!Great gyro! My husband gets a gyro I never get them because I had a taste of one and didnt like it WELL today was different I tried his from Vasilis and I must confess we turned around and ordered another one this place has the best gyro and only gyro I have ever liked. Next time I will order light sauce but these things are huge!Picture is of mine I ordered no tomato!Definitely will be back!
Went there with a friend and all I have to say is Ive been thinking about going back ever since. The food was amazing The waitress and older lady was super sweet had that mom and pop diner feel. Which those are my favorite kinds of places. Whoever the cook is does everything homemade and it is out of this world.
OK... The spankopita was incredible. Tyropita... Oh my God... The grape leaves (DOLANTHES) , avgolemono, the baklava was to die for.For those of you who saw when Harry met Sally... I had what she was having... And I wasnt faking it! Amazing food! Lovely staff, great service. You cannot do better!!!! Anywhere except maybe Greece.
Love this place. Been eating a lot of salads lately, and just had the best one in a long time. Dont let the cute old lady fool ya: shes tough as she is accommodating. Good stuff. I eat a keto diet these days and just about anything there can be keto friendly. If you have no restrictions, try the deserts as well. One of my new favorite places to eat. You can sit next to a fish tank and eat. Its a salt water tank, which arent too common these days. You might even find Nemo. Simple, pleasant, tasty. Reasonable prices too. I got a giant salad with tons of meat for $10. Worth a try if you like Greek or even just fresh healthy food in general.
We love this place! I highly recommend checking it out at least once. We go back over and over and the food is always good, the staff always friendly, and dont even get me started on the desserts! If youre in the area and you like Greek food, you will love this place!
I had the lentil soup and shrimp santorini which were both great, and from what my colleagues relayed, the gyros were too. A perennial favorite in the Akron dining scene. Service is fast and efficient. And when you see the restaurants namesake over the counter in the kitchen area preparing your dishes, you know its homemade.
I wanted a gyro platter thinking I would get a good portion of gyro meat. I even asked for extra meat with designs of perhaps taking some home for lunch and I did not care about the extra charge. The waitress suggested I get a deconstructed gyro, meaning vegetables and meat with pita bread on the side. What I received was a skimpy amount of meat and one pita. I guess the days of takeout at Doubletime are gone.
If you love greek food this place is a must try. I always start off with the saganaki personally. Its a cheese that has a very rich flavor, and they come to your table and light it on fire! Every entree Ive tried here the meat has always been cooked to perfection. I dont even like chicken that much, and I loved the chicken salad! The meat is never dry, and the service is fast.
We were looking for something new. Used Google maps to find something near where we were. Found this gem! We had the flaming cheese! It was delicious. I cant remember the proper name. I had a Gyro salad and my husband had the shrimp stir fry. Both were yummy. Clean and a friendly staff. Baklava for dessert was FABULOUS. I cant wait to visit again.
Food is amazing and the staff is super friendly, polite and, efficient. However we went during a heat wave and the AC was unable to keep the building comfortable. I wasnt able to finish eating my meal because it was so unbearable. So during summer months we will be ordering takeout from now on.
The food was so bad the last time we went, my husband became violently ill and had to leave and that was just from the appetizers. I still was forced to pay the $75 bill. This quality of food has gone down hill tremendously since we were there last. Dont think we will be going back. We used to love coming here. Such a shame.
Greek food is REALLY good. I wish we had more Greek people in this country. There should be a Greek restaurant on every corner. For only $10, I received a great platter. Pita, gyro meat, TZATSIKI, lentil soup, spanakopita, grape leaves, and something else. Very filling and balanced. My father got a gyro for $6.49, it was VERY filling and tasty.I enjoyed the Greek music playing on the speakers as well.
Vasilis, a taste of the old country! This is one of my favorite little greek restaurants in the Akron area. Prices here are very reasonable ($6-9 for an entree) and their menu has plenty of choices for even the most picky of eaters. The restaurant is located down in the valley and is easily accessible for wheelchairs if necessary. Vasilis looks like your standard diner, but with a hint of Greece. The decor is not fancy, nor are the clients, so no need to put on your Sunday finest to feel at home here. The staff are friendly and Vasili makes everything from scratch and can usually be seen running around the kitchen, although sometimes he serves as well! He always is cheerful and friendly!Their spanikopita is fantastic, but their home made lentil soup is the best around....I could eat this stuff every day! I love to get their greek chicken salad which has a TON of thinly sliced and well seasoned chicken on it! it doesnt look like a lot on the plate, but you will definitely be full when you leave Vasilis!Oh! and dont forget to save room for desert! their Baklava is to die for!

2022-04-19The aroma of delicious Greek food brought us in, and Im glad we stopped! We started with the Tzatziki and Pita plate, which was a delicious and well presented appetizer to get started with. Then we had the Gyro Stir Fry, which is a combination Ive never seen before (also delicious), the Authentic Gyro, and the Mezedakia Platter. Everything was fantastic, portions were good, and prices were reasonable. The Avgolemono soup and the side salad were also top notch.

2022-05-23The server was excellent! Food was tasty. Lady with blonde hair, I think one of the owners wife, was very rude. Did not speak when spoken to. Not the way the run a business. You want to make customers feel comfortable, not like you dont want them to be there! Needs a change of attitude 🙄

2022-04-16Ive been craving a real Greek Salad since I visited Crete, and I am always let down. Their Horiatiki Salad did the trick! Vasilis is missing barely rusks, but the flavor and everything else is on point! Service is great and the staff are always friendly! Prices are pretty fair and Ive never left hungry.

2022-07-15Be cautious of asking staff questions; un knowledgeable with outdated menu posted. I went to place a pickup order over the phone. My card had to be locked so I have been surviving off tap to pay transactions. Online it lists they take Apple Pay and when I called the lady on the phone seemed frustrated with my question confirming that. I placed my order….drove out for their systems to not take my tap to pay with clearly money on there as I showed them my balance. She was quick to decline me service further and pulled the food away. Shame because I always order from them. Lost a regular customer. Went next door to a different restaurant and spent twice as much using the same payment method no problem.

2022-04-23This place is a diamond in the rough! You pull into the parking lot and you see a restaurant that looks like a small dinner that says Vasilis Greek restaurant! You walk in a the place looks like your tipical American restaurant, then you see this redheaded Guy in back cooking,ok Im still looking for this Greek restaurant 😂 so we sit down and the menu has Greek food on it! So weve been to many Greek restaurants before but this one had us worried 🤔 so we ordered our usual Greek starters and Ill tell you what, those were ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! so we then ordered our gyros not just any gyros but the supreme gyros and Greek french fries OMG!!
