Valvoline Instant Oil Change in other cities:
It’s a great way to get an oil change I’ve been to a few around the Columbus area. They are never pushy with trying to sell you services you don’t really need. Usually takes between 30 minutes to an hour depending on wait time and the prices are pretty decent for the convenience.
We arrived at this Canal Winchester, OH location at 12:45 pm for an oil change and only waited 2 minutes to get into a bay for serve. They guide you in and verify what you need done, check lights, tires, air filter and do the oil change in minutes. They have other services like rotating the tires.Friendly & efficient staff at this location.
I have a I have a 2013 Honda with low miles that ran great and never had any issues whatsoever, pull into this location for an oil change, it was quicker than usual but didnt think anything of it, pull out and turn onto gender road and my car start stalling and running horrible with check engine light on, I go back and they look it over, long story short I had to replace a censor that I was supposed to be reimbursed for and to no surprise I was blown off and never contacted about it.I was told it was a coincidence that it happened right after my oil was changed, my car is still not running right and I was so worried about what was wrong with it that I overlooked the oil that the girl spilled all down my engine and failed to wipe up
This location is great. They did everything they could to provide quick and effective service. Scott did an amazing job keeping me updated about what was going on and giving me information. Very professional and friendly. Tyler did a great job as well! Service with a smile!
I came there for an oil change and had my car moved multiple times. I waited for about half an hour and finally got my oil changed. While leaving the premises I heard a flappy noise, but thought it would soon go away and didn’t think to much of it. I left and then came back to let them know as soon as I pulled off of the premises I heard a flappy noise and one guy checked under the front of the car. There were three to four others guys sitting outside while the one guy checked and I told the guy that it was a noise on the left side. I was told nothing was touched instead of oil so it would not have been them if the cars has any issues. I called and asked to speak to a manager, talked to corporate, filed a claim, and was told if there was a nail in my tire, the business could do nothing. I was told if a truck carrying nails dropped a nail on the premises, they could not control someone getting a nail in the tire. This was corporate telling me this. I will now contact the better business bureau to also send a review. Please pay attention to everything that happens with your car while taking your car to this business.
Good customer service. They were fast but I didn’t know why my coupon from their website didn’t work but they honored it anyways. I would by a Groupon coupon to use over there it works a lot better. It’s $49.99 for full synthetic and $39.99 for conventional I think but it is much cheaper then their website coupon and I still cannot figure why it didn’t work. It was the 20% off. But they honored the coupon anyways thanks.
Great.. I am not a regular customer. But, situation as it was.. I called they provide an estimated wait time and cost (which were both accurate) AND texted a coupon to me. Quick, friendly, professional and you can watch them and the computer screen provided.. Great job.
Amazing customer service! I was impressed with the inform, but do not pressure to buy approach used by the customer service reps. Prices are a bit high for oil changes, but on par with other no appointment drive in style maintenance facilities. I will likely go here again. The only down side is that this place is so popular. I do not think I have ever seen a time with no line. Still they have fast service, so the wait is not too bad.
I have been there twice with two different vehicles. They have been very nice, not pushy with up sales or filter replacements, which I can handle :) You stay in the car which is new to me, but I was fine with it. If you prefer, there is a small waiting room. All and all, I think the price is probably a little on the high side, but for the convenience and speed of service, I consider the price appropriate. They also have a camera where you can watch the person under the car which I found a little entertaining. Cant see well enough to know if they are doing anything constructive under there but I guess you know someone was down there poking around. I will use them in the future.
Great guys giving fast, reasonably priced service. I was on the phone as I pulled in, which I know is rude, but it was a crisis. These guys treated me great anyway - they had me serviced and on my way before I could even wrap up my call. They got my car info from my plates and door, waited patiently to show me my oil levels and discuss options, and never rushed my call or made me wait or otherwise reacted to me being on phone. They even gave me my $11 discount coupon without having to search on my phone. Ive been here many times, and the team never tries to pressure you to buy expensive services (but does explain options) and they work quickly and effectively as a team. Ive seen them get 8 cars through their two bays in about as much time as it takes some fast food drive throughs to screw up one order! You never feel rushed or pressured, though, and they will answer any questions and go the extra mile for you. It is not just one guy who is good here - I get that treatment from anyone who is working consistently over years - that is a testament to whoever runs the show at this location. The shop and guys are very clean - it still looks like a new place - and they will explain anything I ask about, like why my air filter looks beat up (an animal in glove box!) why tires are low or how the fuel line service will really help. If you live around here, get your car work done with this team!
Fast and friendly. Expensive for oil change if your car needs synthetic oil. $80 but they also do a full check on everything so its worth it. Other places like Toyota only charged me 70. This place was faster and I didnt have to get out of my car during covid so it was a plus and recommended. 👌
They tried to up sell me... 1) front and rear diff oil change 2) fuel system cleaner 3) cabin air filter.Heres the deal. They told me my differential oil needed changed every 15k. They said thats what Toyota recommended. I pulled out the owners manual and proved them wrong. They also tried to offer me a synthetic blend oil. My Highlander requires pure synthetic. Not a blend.
I love bringing my vehicles to Valvoline! I have 4 vehicles so you can only imagine how often I need to get one of the vehicles oil changed. I have been bringing my business here for about a year. I have never left unsatisfied. I usually go to the canal location and the gentleman are always so polite. They go out of their way to make sure you feel safe in your vehicle as well as being thoughtful enough just to conversate with you while the work is being done. They are quick and efficient. I highly recommend!!!!!
Had to wait 20 mins to get in but that was a given as busy as they were. Once I got in I was out in 10 mins. Ive been to other oil change places where I was the only one there and it took 30mins plus to get me out of there. I will be returning in 3000 miles. Very convenient and the staff was nice. The only thing that struck me was when I declined a new air filter because it wasnt really dirty. As they put the filter back in I heard one of the staff members say I dont know what to look for. Im a mechanic and I do know what to look for. I came to this place because it was convenient and I wouldnt have to do the job myself.
Me and my husband had the pleasure of being waited on by Cody he was very professional ; Valvoline is very lucky to have a young man with his conduct representing their company. The service he gave us was efficient and reliable, his character was humble and personable. We thank you for your service during this pandemic continue to be outstanding Cody!!!
My grandma has been going to this location for her oil changes for years. Shes always gotten good servive.. except the most recent time where they have screwed her out of 2 grand. Workers here are incompetent; they caused issues with her power steering during a simple oil change. Now they refuse to assist with repairs. To make things worse the company was rude and completely unsympathetic. They will take advantage of anyone they can.
They were busy, but fast and professional. Got my oil changed and tires rotated. They only have 1 Jack strong enough to hold my van, so they changed my oil in 1 drive thru, then, had to pull in other drive thru to have tires rotated. It went smoothly. Personal was nice.
Wait time is usually atrocious! Every time I drive by there there are at least 4 cars always waiting and their lot isnt set up great for waiting customers - a lot of rearranging when one car finishes and the next customer isnt in the correct spot. On my visit I had to wait longer than an hour and a half for 2 cars ahead of me. Once in the bay I told the tech what I needed, he ran through the services recommended by car/mileage, was easily able to decline them without pressure of buying more than what I came in for. After the oil change they had me restart the vehicle and the oil filter exploded off from damage to the caps threads. The only reason I am keeping my review at 4-stars is because they replaced the cap and didnt tell me I was responsible for covering the cost - which would have really made me angry. They refilled the oil again and verified I was good to go before I left (no issues since the oil change, leaks, drips..etc). They even told me if I bring in wipers/air filters they will change while they are performing oil change at no extra cost. Will most likely return for further services.
Customer Service is AWESOME!! I never go back to Walmart for a oil change period with their 2 to 3 hour wait no maam no sir... Valvoline wait time was 20 minutes the people were very professional and informative... you can see everything that going on as their working and just sit in your car while they work... it took only 20 minutes... The only thing is its kind of expensive.
I stopped using this location years ago, but my adult children love the convenience of the location / oil change why they sit in the car. My daughter was upsold for a $90 oil change last time and my son was just attempted to be upsold for $450 for a few essential services like cleaning his fuel lines (that they attempted to scare him with, as they had to access through the engine....aka fuel cleaner it takes 2 seconds to pour in the gas tank). As long as you can say NO, and have a coupon, this place is reasonable/convenient. Otherwise, go somewhere else.
I took my car to the Westerville store for an oil change and had my air filter replaced, and all the guys there were very friendly. After leaving, noticed it sounded like air was leaking under the hood. Took it to the Canal location by my house, where Dennie quickly figured out the problem and fixed it. He was so nice and double checked everything before letting us drive away. Thanks Dennie!
A family member took our Toyota to Valvoline for a oil change in February. It was time for a new oil change, so I was going to do it at home with my dad. The car holds 4 quarts. We started draining the oil and our 7 quart oil pan over flowed onto our driveway. I don’t know if someone made a mistake or what happened but there was almost double the amount of oil in my car. I will not be going back.
Went for an oil change and they were super quick! The only problem I had was attempting to show the guy that checked me out the online coupon for a much cheaper price and apparently didnt have time to wait for me to do so. He did a coupon for $7 off but was far from the amount I was attempting to ony have to pay. Also may want to make sure that the techs are actually checking the items they are signing off on too. I only know this bc my tire pressure (not that they needed checked) was stated as 1 PSI but are actually not that stated number.
Ruined my transmission. If you cant do the service correctly dont say yes when I ask for it. Dear readers, please DO NOT trust this business to deliver quality work on your vehicle; instead, fear that they may cause costly damage to your property, and coerce you into letting them destroy evidence, and make up nonsense excuses rather that take responsibility for their mistakes.I asked for a trans fluid change. When I was merging on highway 33 after leaving, the transmission slipped and would not engage anymore. Upon being coerced by Valvoline employees to get towed back to the shop, they added fluid which they had failed to add in the first place. Charles, whom they refer to as Chuck, had came to me on the side of the freeway while before I called the tow truck, to try and add fluid on the side of the road. This didnt work and he said to me I think the tech (whom was Benjamin) hooked up both hoses to the returns. Upon being towed to the shop, Charles said Transmission are known to bounce back, as if I wanna hear a statement like that...Upon an hour and a half waiting on them as they hook up and struggle to fix whatever they did wrong, including the machine beeping over and over again and the techs Benjamin and Charles struggling, I was finally supposedly where I was supposed to be in the first place regarding the fluid. We took a test drive (very short distance, worthless for gauging the scope of damage possibly done), and I left feeling uneasy. I spoke to the GM Craig Hartman by telephone, we agreed to have my vehicle (2011 Toyota Camry) inspected by a 3rd party. As I drove about my day (this ordeal had lasted 5-6 hours by this point), I noticed the transmission was shifting hard for each gear, and it was shuddering, or as the trans shop later referred to it, hunting for a gear between 38-42 MPH.I took it to the trans shop, upon inspection they were saying internal damage is showing and the trans unit must be taken apart to see what was damaged, and the only way for it to be corrected was by a full transmission rebuild . So suddenly, my vehicle I have only owned a month, purchased at Toyota Direct with 99k miles on it, has a faulty and about to fail transmission which must be rebuilt.Thank you Valvoline, thank you shift manager Benjamin whom performed my service, thank you GM Craig Hartman and thank you VIOC Co. for costing me thousands of dollars out of my pocket for trusting you with my somewhat unnecessary preventative maintenance on my vehicle. You are running an awful business here.To those reading, do not trust these shops for anything other than maybe your oil change, which if you do some searching on Google or asking around people in the public, you will find out that this place and also other instant oil change places like this, but mainly Valvoline, commonly manage to mess peoples vehicles up because the certified techs are unqualified. By the way Valvoline, when I hear you talk about lessons to your employee Wyatt, it should have been a red flag to me that your employees are unqualified. And when after the work is done, I see Benjamin on your computer, looking over diagrams with a facial expression that looks a bit insecure, maybe I shouldnt have ignored my uncertainty in your labor. After the inspection was complete, Craig Hartman contacted me 5 days later to tell me he could not help me. Thanks for wasting my time with your stalls and corporate scripts, Craig.I shouldnt have gone back to have fluid added when they realized they messed up, or I would have easily taken VIOC to claims court. This was a shady scheme to cover up their faults. You can see the attached image of them working on my car in the parking lot. When do you ever see these shops work on cars in their parking lots?
In my experience with the Canal Winchester Valvoline, they dont try to up sell you. They told me my fluid levels and said after (x) amount of time (y) fluid should be replaced. But they didnt say anything was wrong or needed to be done, they simply changed my oil and replaced the air filter. Fast and friendly service, looks like a very cooperative team.
Will never go there again. They are not certified to touch anything. Messed up my transmission by taking fluid out. Will never allow a oil place to touch my vehicle! When called not only store manager Nick but also Corp and the general manager just tell me that it wasn’t their fault! No one but Valvoline has touch the fluid. To be stranded on the side of the freeway. No gears in the transmission. So $65 oil change and fluid check turned into a $1500 transmission change. But it isn’t their fault?!?!?!
Replaced low beam light. It just work for awhile than broke. Next time they recommend change it again they still charge. I told them I just replaced. They check in computer the system show replaced high beam I have to pay one more time. I knew what I did replace last time because I check my high beam bulb so old and my low beam it new bulb. Bye bye you don’t see me anymore because of $ 21 you make me don’t trust.
Literally the slowest oil change. By the time you wait in line and get in and done you could have gone to the store, purchased what you needed to do it yourself. Go home. Change oil. Cook dinner and eat. Been here twice. First was about 45m total, second I waited 30m and they didnt even finish one car that was in there when I pulled up.
Weve been here twice in the past month and service has been awfully slow. I would not recommend going here if there is even a little bit of a line. It seems as if they use both bays to do more time intensive maintenance. Slowing down the customers who just need an oil change.
I gave it a 3 because yes they are conveniently located and you dont even leave your car, but this comes at a cost 3X more than Walmart garage and you have to hang out a little longer depending on the day so if price is a concern dont go to Valvoline to do oil change, diff change and ratiator flush & transmission fluid I spent over $600 OUCH!!
Would give zero stars if I could. Had the oil changed. No issues with the engine or vehicpe in general. Within 3 days had rod knock and had to have the engine replaced. After everything was said and done it cost me almost 2000 dollars. Valvoline used the wrong viscosity oil i know because the dealership had it semt to a lab to be tested. Valvoline was given all the information and said they did everything right based off what was seen on a camera in a corner of the shop.... Manager kept ignoring my calls until i walked in and found him. He and his staff were rude and showed that they genuinely didnt care that my wife was stranded in a nad part of town with our child because of their mistake. Never trust valvoline with your vehicle especially not this one.

2022-06-03I got my oil changed here yesterday and it was by far the best experiences I’ve had getting an oil change in my life and that’s not an exaggeration. Everyone was so kind and it was probably the fastest oil change I’ve ever had. The kid working the computer was super personable and I had a great experience! My church is right across the street and I’m in Canal like three four times a week so I will solely be going to this location for my oil changes! Major props! Like I don’t even mind that it cost me $90 because I know I’m getting good service and quality product.Thank you!!!

2022-05-13I tried to do an oil change....Convenient, until now. With only two bays, it seems fairly common that if they are both full, you take your best guess at which one to pull up to since they don’t indicate which one will be opened next. In this instance, both bays were full, and a vehicle was waiting outside one of them. I pulled into the one next to it. Not an issue…there was no single-file line since there was an open spot. After that, cars will back up to “single-file” and then it’s first come first serve. After waiting about 15minutes (and I acknowledge that the car next to me was waiting just as long, if not a little longer), an associate came out and asked me to move to the other bay since the other car was there before me. A little confused, I asked how much longer and since there was an open spot when I pulled in, why the change. I didn’t get an exact answer on time, and he just said “they were there first”, although in another bay line. This is the first time this happened, actually for any location I’ve been to. In a pinch on lunch, I could not move or wait for the next spot so I left. Very discouraging and I just wasted 35 minutes of my day between travel and waiting and now I need to (and will) go somewhere else for an oil change.**I think you missed my point and apparently Im spending more time on this than I should. I was asked to get out of line and let someone get ahead of me. If theres someone ahead of me Ill wait or come back. not leave the line i was in only to let someone get in front of me.

2021-10-25We have been a customer as long as we have lived in Canal. Something has changed and I would recommend finding another location. A few months ago our car was extremely loud after an oil change. Turns out they did not install the airfilter correctly. Now, on the last oil change, they did not replace splash guard fasteners so that flew off the bottom of the engine at highway speed and sounded like we ran a trash can over. Now, on vacation, we need to find a dealership so I can get the duct tape off my car.

2022-06-01I dont know what it is about this location but this is the second time I left without getting a oil change. Only one vehicle in front of me, took absolutely too long. I wont be back to this location.

2022-06-18Extremely slow. Better of dropping it off somewhere. I also noticed when I got home that I had a giant nail in my tire, which Im very confident that I picked that up while being there.

2021-03-19Great customer service! I havent had my oil changed in a long time and I was embarrassed about it. They never made me feel judged or dumb. They also let me know what services I should get without being too pushy! Best thing was I upgraded the oil I wanted and I was still able to use my coupon for $7 off! I will definitely come back next time!

2022-01-16Today was the first time I have been to valvoline, they showed me and my family more compassion and sympathy in 5 minutes then most places ever have in a year. The service was quick and efficient. I simply can’t thank them enough especially Colin
