United States Postal Service in other cities:
Edit 6/6/18: I’ve decided to update my review because I’ve noticed USPS seriously making a concerted effort with improving its customer service. I’ve used their services several times since my original review, and have actually been pleased!Honestly, if I could, Id give this branch ZERO stars. I was expecting a package to be delivered that required my signature, waited home all day and finally left to attend to some responsibilities. Of course, I receive the pink Attempted Delivery Notice. I quickly rescheduled delivery for two days later via the website. I waited around the house ALL DAY a second time, and the package was NEVER DELIVERED. The tracking was never updated,no email, not text message (even though I requested both), NOTHING. I seldom write negative reviews, but its no wonder the Postal Service is universally panned as a defunct organization. They shouldnt offer a service (the online delivery reschedule) if they cant abide by it. Absolutely horrible.
My husband and I needed to renew our passports in an expedited fashion, and had trouble booking an appointment with the post office online. When we arrived the post office had no record of our appointment, but they helped us anyways. There was a wickedly funny Indian gentleman and a lady (Emma?) who were both kind and very helpful. We are very thankful for their efforts in helping us get the appropriate documents together and sent off. Thank you!
I would give this specific Post Office five stars purely for the customer service provided by Eric and Crystal. My coworker and I brought in a large mailing for our work on a Monday (their busiest day of the week). What we thought would be a simple drop off turned into a three hour marathon of Eric re-scanning each individual item in the mailing to adjust the postage (due to incorrect processing by another staff member in our office). Eric was respectful and courteous to us the whole time, even though we had certainly inconvenienced him and his coworker Crystal. Crystal heroically shouldered the brunt of the customers while Eric worked with us for three hours to get our mailing out. They both remained respectful and positive throughout and Eric took the time to provide information on how we could avoid a similar issue in the future. Not only that, but Eric and Crystal both clearly have established relationships with members of the community. They both deserve all the kudos (and a raise) for their hard work, efficiency, and professionalism!
Every time a package needs delivered theres hassle.Ordered a gift for a friend and they deemed my address Ive lived at for over a year and received mail at as invalid. Had to drive up and when I presented my license with the address, the guy tells me the address isnt valid. Package wasnt delivered because that address doesnt exist. It was the exact same address the rest of my mail came to.Wouldnt deliver a passport because it wouldve been late since I paid for expedited shipping. It was to be delivered around 12/23 of last year. I watch the tracking numbers, and suddenly undeliverable. I call asking why. Well, our route person is back at the office for the evening and missed delivering that. So since it wouldve been late from when you ordered it, we arent able to deliver it. What?! So I ask Is it going to go out with the next round of deliveries to my area? oh no. Well hold it for 24 hours and then we send it back to the sender. So Christmas Eve got to go in at the crack of dawn because they couldnt deliver a passport correctly/on time. Now theyre telling me that mail that shouldve been forwarded isnt going to be because (insert reason here). Package was shipped to address, we quickly bought a house, forwarded all our mail a good week before the package was to arrive, it was deemed undeliverable at our old address (understandable.) and I called making sure its going to be forwarded to our new address. Oh yes, no problem at all. undeliverable means its going to be forwarded. So it was sent to the Michigan sorting center, wheres theres no contact number, and then sent back to the sender because....... well, 2 months later, I finally got the package. Had to file a claim with usps, they informed me the package was at this location. Walked in gave the tracking number and they tried stalling. Its out for delivery, its stuck in a bin, its been sent back to sender. I tell them its been 2 months since the label was created for tracking and I paid for priority. She says well give me your phone number so I can do some research and Ill call you. No....no. Its been 2 months. Last time I left my phone number they never called and sent the package back to sender. So I said Id wait. Well itll take a while. So i volunteered to call the cops and have them help look and press charges for mail theft. She leaves and 1 1/2 hours later my package is magically found.Coworker took care of everyone out front because veejay? Was missing and he told the girl helping me. She gets huffy and says yea because I have to help HER! And throws her hand towards me. Horrible horrible service. 2 months for a single package sent priority? Then blame the customer for your incompetence?
Have always had excellent service including package delivery, mail delivery and counter service. Workers have all been friendly and competent. Regular mail route delivery people over a 30 year period have all been excellent especially after we took a little time to a relationship with them. I cant think of the last negative experience weve had with this branch or others. Thanks to all of you for your service.
Worst experience ever! Had two packages mailed Express to get here next day at noon as they were fragile and perishable. Called at 10:45 am when tracking said it had been picked up. Told that the courier from my office (mailed to my work address) had picked them up at 10:30 am. Multiple calls later, found out courier actually picked up mail at 8:30 am and packages did not arrive to the post office till about 10:30 am. Spoke to a so called supervisor Teresa THREE times and each time she told me the same thing. Fourth time I called and placed on hold for over 20 minutes and in the meantime I physically drove to the post office. Finally face to face with Teresa and was still on hold on the phone waiting for her to pick up after Michelle told me she was getting her on the phone. Teresa claimed Michelle never let her know she was wanted on the phone. She finally goes to the back to check and my packages were just sitting in a box back there. Her excuse? She does not work in the back. I spoke to you THREE times and you kept confidently giving me information on the phone and you couldnt even get off your butt to go check? I explained the necessity of finding the packages since they were perishable, and you were too lazy to even do the minimum due diligence, instead just kept referring me back to my companys mail room? Ridiculous the sheer laziness and lack of brains exhibited. A shame and disgrace to the postal workers out there that actually care about their work.
I went to get my passport taken care of and couldnt believe how rude The employees are rude the East Indian gentleman that I had to deal with was. He told me I shouldnt go out of the country and that I should just stay home! He wasnt kidding and it was highly unprofessional. I have seen others complain about him and am sure hes no peach to work with, either. He should be fired, most of the others Ive dealt with there have been very reasonable, helpful people.
I was hesitant about posting a review until I saw the review by another customer. I was at this post office last week with my family to get some stamps and mail a package. The Indian gentleman was there and unfortunately served us. He was very rude and disrespectful. He would not answer our questions and called the next person in line before giving us the stamps I was trying to buy. I said excuse me sir, I asked for a book of stamps. He gave me a dirty look and gave us the stamps. I did not mail my package. I had it with him. I left that post office and went to the one on Shawn Falls in Dublin. They were very nice and very respectful. The lady was smiling the whole time and brightened our day. I do not think all post office employees are rude, it is just this Indian gentleman that is rude and giving a bad name to others.
Poor service. I tried calling for 5 days straight and phone is busy. My mail was not being delivered I was out of country for emergency and my mailbox was full. I got call from my bill companies that my mail is being returned. USPS employee did not even leave a note that we are returning the mail. On being asked they say we cannot baby sit mail. I tried calling to let them know keep my mail with you but the number never works. Such a poor service. Mail lady attitude is I dont care. I wish we can privatize this USPS and than they can live with this poor service. Hate getting to deal with such rude people.
I have had pretty much good experience in all my visit to this post-office except some couple bad experiences involving that Indian man.He was very rude starting from the moment I stepped up to him. He started pin-pointing mistakes in the address label I stuck on top of my package to be mailed. He then tore that label from the package without my consent. My package which usually gets delivered in 5-7 days has not been delivered yet (after 25 days). I wonder whether he made some mistake. He started giving this big lecture of how things need to be done. Dude I am here to mail my package and you should be doing your Job instead of getting into altercations with the customers. This is a good post-office with friendly staff, again except for Indian man.
The postal service doesn’t get tax money to survive, it survives off of packages and mail. With that being said, I’m a mail carrier at this location and it’s interesting to see all the comments and concerns people have. We are human, we have a lot of new people coming in and out, and they tend to make a lot of mistakes with delivering mail unfortunately. However we do try to be very proactive in preventing misdeliveries, but as I stated earlier we are human and some mistakes are made. If they are just talk to your carrier and we’ll be more than happy to help you out.
Postal workers get a bad rap. I am fortunate to have a really great postal lady (Adriana) and she has always done an excellent job! Ive called the station about issues with packages already in the system and they have always been very helpful. It would be nice for people to just remember that they are just doing their jobs, too, and literally the entire populace depends on them to send and receive millions of pieces of mail and packages daily.
Seeing all the bad reviews for post offices in this area, I was a little wary, afraid that I would have to wait a long time and be late to work, be treated rudely, or that my package would not reach the recipient. However, I had a good experience here, so I wanted to put the word in. I went around 1pm on my lunch break, and the line was short. The clerk who served me was very quick and helpful in explaining things about the shipping to me. I also saw the Indian clerk who others have mentioned, and he was raising his voice at another customer regarding a PO box key or something, so that was unfortunate.Edit: sent a box here, but unbeknownst to me, the recipient had provided me the wrong zip code, so the box was returned to me. I went back to the post office. The clerk (not that same person who processed the package originally) told me the system catches when an invalid address/zip is entered, but the original clerk did not even bother to check or inform me. Waste of time and money.
I was waiting for a package to be delivered the package sat at the post office for days before being sent out to address. First attempt said the delivery was unable to drop off at location and will attempt again the next day. The next day I waited at home for it to arrive and no one showed up. I get a update from the tracking number telling me my package was undeliverable. So I call the ask usps line they tell me they have the wrong address on the package to go to the post office so I get in my car in ten degree weather only to be told to call back the next morning cause my package may not be back yet. So it’s the next day I call at open of course to find out my package was sent back at 6 in the morning. I understand it is not their personal items so they could care less whether I get the items I paid for or not and now my package is in its way back to China and who knows who I need to contact in China to get my package redelivered. There should be a option on the tracking app to say I will pick up my item if it is undeliverable because once it isn’t delivered they just send it back and do not try and help you stop this from happening in any way. Frustrating and inconvenient
Do you all know how to pick up a phone? All I want to know is when I can expect the keys to my mailbox that were promised to be ready days ago, and not one person there has the time to answer in the 30+ minutes I put up with hearing it ring? At the very least you could add some hold music or something because a person can surely lose their mind if one tries to stay on the line long enough. Hell, maybe thats your evil plan to make sure people give up on the call.
Had a package carrier couldn’t deliver to an address bc the shipper forgot to add apartment number - called this location directly, they got my package before it went back to sender and it will be at my house today. Total of 6 min of the phone as opposed to calling USPS customer service and waiting on hold for 2 hours.
An alert notified me that my package was deemed undeliverable as addressed. I called three times and spoke with three different supervisors to find that a correctly addressed package had been sent back to the sender because the regular carrier on our route had the day off and the other did not deliver it. I was told the the package would be intercepted from being sent to the sender and delivered to me in a couple days. They then said they could not control a package in the system and did not care to find a solution. Numerous alternatives are available to sending a package back to a sender automatically. Why does a customer have to pay for the mistake of the post office? Correct me if I am wrong, but the major purpose of the USPS is to deliver correctly addressed packages and mail to an address.
I now understand why the US Postal Service is on the brink of collapse.I ordered a package through Amazon that was scheduled to be delivered in 3-5 business days. After I hadnt received anything for about 8 days, I went online to check the status of my package, which said it had been delivered. Concerned, I called my leasing office to see if anything had been dropped off (even though I never received a delivery notice from the postal carrier). Still nothing.I called the Emerald Pkwy postal office to see if maybe they could help me get to the bottom of what had happened.1. Best of luck getting someone to answer the phone at this location (I had to call 2-3 times back to back)2. I explained to the employee who answered the phone my concern and all they could tell me is the mail carrier said they delivered it to the leasing office and would have left me a notice in my mailbox. I told them again I had already called the leasing office and had NEVER received a notice of delivery in my mailbox.3. Employee just answered with well the mail carrier said it was delivered so...SO... What the Heck? Obviously it wasnt delivered, so where do I go from here???Absolutely the WORST customer service I have ever experienced. I feel like I literally had to do everything for myself. They provided no answers or solutions except to call the US postal service inspection, another long wait on the phone, and maybe I can get some answers...Who has time for this?Bottom Line: Im out $50. No package. No answers. Disappointment in another government service.
That parcels and post can get anywhere in the country for a small amount of money is amazing. Unfortunately, having to deal with the people who are supposed to be offering the service is not always pleasant. Today, I had to track a package sent from Dublin to St. Louis. The tracking said it was delivered 4/19, then says it was undeliverable on 4/20. Postal employee Lance acted as if I were really inconveniencing him on the phone. He said he couldnt tell what happened and recommended I call St. Louis. When I asked for the number of the specific office in St. Louis, he said, You can look it up. When I asked him which office would have delivered it, he responded, I dont know. He ended up giving me a number that was no longer in service. If I had any other reasonably convenient option than the USPS, Id use it.
We are sending out our wedding invites using a mix of new and vintqge stamps. The man at this post office clearly and nicely explained to us the amount of postage we would need. He was by far the nicest employee weve talked to and weve been to at least six different post offices in Columbus.
I moved to a new address. Transferred my address and everything. Was getting what we thought was the old tenants mail. Come to find out they sent us another residents mail on a different street with an address that only ended in the last 2 numbers and a different street address. We havent received one piece of our mail even though our address is confirmed through the USPS site. Been calling non stop trying to get this fixed and no answer.
They literally keep their phone off the hook so nobody can actually call to complain about the awful carriers they have. ( I actually used the repeat dialing feature that will call you back when it is available within 30 minutes, and it never did) Mail out of this office -- I have never seen worse delivery. EVER! And now I will probably never get mail again. Except for Karen - and she was the only one.
****WARNING LONG REVIEW (but if you have a few minutes and want an honest, well explained review then please read through it and enjoy the fact that its not just more complaining/ranting!)****After reading a lot of the negative and 1-Star reviews on here, Id like to address them and how YOU can prevent a lot of these issues from ever arising. Here are the two most mentioned:1) The Slow Service: I 100% agree with everybody that the post office is one of the slowest places on Earth no matter what time you go. Sure, you can put all the blame on the employees (who have NO URGENCY) or all you guys (the customers) can take action and do things like buying your postage, shipping labels, stamps, etc. online. After doing this once you will never want to go back to standing in line ever again. Its super easy and once you get to the post office all you have to do is set the packages on the countertop! Your 30 minutes spent inside will turn into 30 seconds.2) The Indian Guy: Its a shame to see so many people hate on a single person, but once again yes I do understand why everybody doesnt like him (it always seems like hes mad, doesnt care, or is in a bad mood) but dont treat him so poorly online, hes still a person like you and me. Get to know him, talk to him, joke around with him before you truly judge him. He really is a nice guy who is just serious when hes working cause thats the way he works. If you watch Seinfeld and have seen The Soup Nazi episode then you will understand the comparison here and how I am trying to be his Kramer. So then.... Yes, 5 stars! It really is a great post office. It has the absolute best hours in town with it being open until 7pm on the weekdays and 3pm on Saturday! Not many other POs in all of Columbus have late hours like that so its very very nice if its your main one that you go to. Also, with it being Dublins main post office, it is a very big building with ample PO Boxes and plenty of space and kept clean on a daily basis. And if you are going to get a personal or business PO Box, then I highly recommend getting it here if you live in Dublin. It is also the fastest way to get your mail or any packages because all Dublin mail is first dispatched to this building and is then either distributed out from here or transferred to the other Dublin office and then distributed out. If you have a Box at this location (main office) then your mail/packages will come straight from being sorting in Columbus up to this location, cutting out some of the delivery process.
Utterly incompetent. So bad, they are almost an SNL skit. They have one freaking job. To deliver mail. When my soon to be mother-in-law tries to mail me packages, they never arrive at my office which is a MILE AWAY from this turgid waste of our tax dollars.I had to go there THREE TIMES before I could successfully receive my first package... a week after it was supposed to arrive at its destination. The people who work here are lidless reptilian shape-shifters from the deepest recesses of hell who must receive some perverse elation out of setting the worlds benchmark of incompetence.I kind of hope our world succumbs to total anarchy so that this nuclear waste dump of an institution will run out of funding.Even the interior decoration screams of a soggy VHS cover of Total Recall. Avoid this place at all costs.
Michelle today helped me greatly re a package that had a status of Out for Delivery yesterday but which was not attempted to be delivered. I am not pleased with yesterdays failure to deliver, but can tolerate it because as she very well explained, my usual carrier Carl is in hospital in intensive care after being struck by a vehicle while he was riding his motorcycle. But this review is to praise Michelle. She answered my phone call even though it was 30 minutes before opening, she explained everything very well, took my phone number, and called me back soon to tell me she had the package at the office and said I could pick it up or the carrier could deliver it later today. As it required a signature and as we might not b at home, I went to the office to pick it up.P.S. When I went to the p.o. the gentleman of Indian descent served me. He is fast and efficient but seems cocky and very authoritative, as if he is the government and we customers are enemies. I find all the other workers at that office to be so good that it pretty much offsets the lack of public relation skills of that worker.
Poor service. I tried calling for over 4 days straight and phone was never answered. My mail was not being delivered. I got a message from the company that my mail is being returned. USPS employee did not even leave a note that we are returning the mail and those mails were very important cos I’ve been expecting them for weeks. It’s not cool
This post office is fabulous and I’ve had nothing but excellent customer service. I do not understand why people are saying the Indian gentleman isn’t kind, he goes out of his way to help people every time I am in there! Both he and the tall African American gentleman are super friendly and helpful!
I am handicapped and requested a priority medium sized ñon flatrate box. I was told they were in the blue marked areas. After struggling to get to and imspect all the boxes, they were flat rate boxes. When i went back to the counter the man acted like i had put him out of his way mlm
Love the staff at this post. Even during the longer lines at lunch hour or a minute before close, theyre warm and helpful. It can be difficult making a left turn as you leave though as its a wide business street with a stay coffee is cars from the roundabout during rush hour. Be patient!
Wow I dont know why there are so many bad reviews! The people who work here are awesome and friendly and even when there is a line (usually everyone cramming in before closing) Ive always had a good experience. And that goes for all of the employees Ive had all of them assist me and they have been kind, friendly, and efficient.
All I did was try to call to check a passport appointment I had in the morning. I called for 20 minutes straight and only one person answered in the dozen times I called but they never said anything. I could hear them shuffling papers and everything. Worst service ever

2022-07-01This post office has the friendliest staff I have ever encountered at a post office, and that says a lot. Really great people work here. Julian was really helpful in helping me apply for a new passport. From now on, Ill be going to this post office for all of my mailing needs.

2021-11-27Mary Kent is an angel! Talk about good customer service she went way beyond the norm! I had been calling the Shawan Falls Drive station for 3 days (before, during and after hours) no one would answer the phone. I called the Emerald Parkway station, Ms. Kent answered my call immediately took my information so she could send a message to Shawan Falls station. Thank you so much for going the extra step and saving the day, Ms Kent!

2021-10-30Dont know if he was having a bad day or something but I found Vijay to be very condescending. There was no behavior on my part that would warrant his level of service. I am very pro post office. His service is not helping the UPS cause. Perhaps more training is in order

2021-01-26Worst postal service I have ever had. I have lived in Canfield and Worthington Ohio and never had the trouble I have experienced with Dublin. When I first moved here in August , I signed up for the daily notification of mail that’s scanned. I kept having mail go missing including some checks. I also had mail that was addressed correctly sent back to sender with no explanation. A friend moved into an apartment across the street in October and when she opened her mailbox half the mail I was missing was there as well as others. I contacted a supervisor and she said they will keep track of my mail. That works for a couple of weeks then mail goes missing or returned again. I have talked to her twice since, which takes days to get hold of her as no one answers the phone there ever. I now have mail missing again that was scanned and have been trying to call there for 3 days and no one answers. I really don’t want the exposure of going there with COVID as I am 68 years old but I guess I will have to.WORST and most frustrating postal service ever.

2021-07-24I wish I could give negative stars. This is One of the worst post offices. I don’t think anyone here wants to work. I’ve had two packages lost here. I have finally learned my lesson. I will drive out of my way to ship from another post office. I suggest no one come here anymore and let them shut it down because they are useless!

2021-02-19Worst post office around & customer service from inside the post office to the mail delivery personnel is pitiful. Of course there are 1 or 2 good people in the office that deal w/the public but all other interaction Ive had w/them either via phone or in person has been has been poor. Believe it or not Im not one to complain & this is probably the worst review Ive ever submitted & from reading other reviews Im not alone.

2020-08-26We have had an issue with mail and package forwarding twice so far. Despite filling out the change of address forms, and also another form that lists the individuals at a residential address, the mailman missed delivering our mails for a while and has sent back two packages so far even though the address on the package was correct both times. They literally are out for delivery and then get rerouted!!!I am not sure what is going on at the post office for them to keep losing our information. I had to call the post office to talk to them about this and was asked to fill out a change of address again, which didnt make sense because we were not moving from where we were. Somehow they had lost the information on our change of addresses. I am not sure how that can happen, assuming they have electronic records.
