I took my daughter to the ER for care on 8/14/21 we waited for some time in the waiting room but once we got to the room we seen the doctor, blood work, X-ray, urine sample and IV within 15 minutes. Radiology came to the room for the X-ray and I was impressed with the service from the ER staff and the organization of care that was given to my daughter. I took my daughter to another hospital the day before and waited in the waiting room for over six hours and never went back to room and left. Thank UH Geauga for the quality of care you given my daughter.
Walked right in to the emergency room , to walk right back out. The patients were over flowing outside. Receptionist seemed to be on her last nerve. Didnt ask about symptoms, or issues going on. Quickly stated that we would be seen faster at an urgent care. Which was not the best thing to say to patients walking into an emergency room. We have an emergency and came to the proper facility to get the proper testing done. At least one would think. Completely discouraged any help. So we took a drive to southwest general. Where we are being helped with care and concern about our well being. We all get it, understaffed and these are difficult times but as my in pain sister-in law states that is when you need to shed kindness .π
I literally have never in my life experienced such a mean, cold and rude βnurseβ in my life. This was intensive care unit the RN was Dan and I was afraid to leave my adult 69 year old brother with him when I did leave. I was yelled at by this man again, named Dan and he went through my purse and grabbed my reading glasses without my permission!! My husband does not even go into my own purse!!! As a medical worker myselfβ¦. Never will I EVER recommend this hospital to anyone. Beware people and stay away fromThis location primarily intensive care unit.
I was humiliated and berated after going into the outpatient lab for blood testing and didnβt have my orders with me. The nurse was incredibly rude and I left in tears. Then I went to the off site lab and they didnβt take all the tests that were on my order. So I had to come back for a 3rd time.
I understand that patients can be agitating and this is a stressful job but, I was treated with jokes from the doctor and rude comments from the nurses. My situation is a little embarrassing as it is but, I had good reason to call 911. The nurses complained that I asked for a doctors note because I needed a different note a separate time and used my daughters medical literature to prove Id been to the hospital. I dont see how I did anything wrong by attempting to get everything I needed to ensure I can keep my job. My job is based in China and they have very strict fines and rules. Also, I was called annoying and that I suck because I had removed my heart monitor because I was told Id have to go to the waiting room and was trying to get myself dressed so I would be able to get out of the room faster. I dont know how medical equipment works and I dont understand why they didnt just come in to stop the machine from beeping? I dont think I behaved in a way to deserve that kind of judgment especially given my diagnosis. I hope other people with issues like mine are not treated like that.
Both of our daughters were born here. The nursing staff is absolutely top notch. Our second daughter was just born there. This time here was a complication that happened the night before and brought us in early. It ended up being one of the scariest moments of my life because of that complication. I knew that we were in good hands in how they handled the situation. The level of intensity and how they went straight to work without hesitation while at the same time keeping me informed without scaring me or stopping what they were doing gave me confidence that everything would be OK. I am forever thankful.
If you go to this hospital I wish you the best of luck. The lack of communication and organization is amazing. There is a good chance you will hardly ever see a nurse or a tech especially if you are on 1south on the weekend. The nurses on the 2nd floor really werenβt much help either they were too concerned about talking about marching band. You will need to learn how to silence your IV monitors and how to change the batteries in your pulse ox. I hope you donβt get thirsty on the weekends because no one will offer to get you water or ice. I had to find it on my own.You will be sent for the wrong tests. If you state your IV site hurts you will just have to deal with it nothing will be done. You will stay in the same dirty sheets for the entire time you are at the hospital. The patient care advocate wonβt return phone calls. Apparently they donβt care about patients. Also, one of the rules for entry is no COVID exposure for 14 days. The gentleman in front of me at the front entrance check in on Sunday July 25 stated that he was with his mom who is in the hospital with COVID 6 days ago. He was just waved in. I am not COVID police but rules are rules. So good luck!
I have dealt with some rude and unprofessional healthcare but this place takes the cake. Every person I call never returns a call. The staff documented lied about a situation yo make themselves look better. When I asked to get a second opinion, I was told I need to stop playing doctor. The patient care advocate was a joke. I have called numerous times and left messages but did not get through. She left a message and had a oh well sorry I cant help attitude. The social worker who is assigned to the case I swear works every 3 days. She is never in the office. She never returns calls. She claims to have conversations with me but we never talked. She claims to email me but then says she dossnt have my email address. And the doctor? That is a whole another situation. Never consulted me. I am a guardian and I was told that doctors dont consult with family. They dont get a history, ask for concerns or anything.
On August 4 around 9:30am my employer contacted 911 on my behalf. When paramedics arrived I had a blood sugar of 60 and blood pressure of 160/100. I was then taken into Geauga Medical Center to be placed in a back room alone and with no panic button! My hand IV popped out and I was dripping blood on floor and on me from the artery as Im walking in hallway asking for help from girls at desk but nobody would look up or acknowledge me. So I had to go into my room and find panic button on the wall and wait. When they inserted a new IV in my other hand they gave me a medicine I had a bad reaction to and again NO PANIC BUTTON STILL!! I am screaming for help and nobody comes. So I stretch behind me frantically trying to reach button without falling out of my bed or pulling out IV. When they come in and flush my IV they act agrevated and send a horrible no empathy pharmacist in to tell me this has happened before from this med and it sometimes has this reaction. THEN WHY DIDNT SOMEONE WARN ME AND STAY WITH ME TO MONITOR IF THIS REACTION WOULD HAPPEN INSTEAD OF LEAVING ME ALONE AND MAKING ME FEEL LIKE IM INCONVENIENCING THEM!! They then proceed to tell me they are watching my monitor from upfront but because I had to use the bathroom and they unhooked me, THEY NEVER HOOKED ME BACK UP FOR MONITORING! My blood pressure pump was going off, but not on my arm. This whole experience now has side effects of sever anxiety and body shakes! I thought they were going to kill me and I felt so alone! I can only type so much on this app, but to wrap it up, HORRIBLE HOSPITAL AND STAFF!! I couldnt get out fast enough to feel safe!! I thought they were going to kill me!
Im still haunted by the hold message you hear when you call to check on a patient: How much would you PAY to avoid having a heart attack ?Pretty much sums up their priorities. How much can you PAY.Lots of services arent available here Friday through Saturday because its a regional hospital.I saw a patient almost code because they are too understaffed to provide proper transport for tests (only one person for a big bed and they dont know how to work the bed).It took 6 days for a doctor to call me back, even though I called multiple times a day to request to speak to a doctor. When I finally did speak to a doctor, I found out a bunch of stuff no-one had told me, but it was too late.To be fair, some of the ICU nurses were excellent.
Outstanding customer service and care! Despite staffing shortages, especially in healthcare, UH Geauga Community Hospital continues to provide outstanding customer service and patient care. Geauga County residents are blessed to have this gem in our community.Thank you to Dr Benjamin Silver and his compasionnate office team for going above and beyond the call of duty and restoring my dads ability to walk. God bless!
I was traveling back to Ohio from out of town and had an unexpected medical emergency. The staff is OUTSTANDING. Every single person from the ER, to radiology, to the general floor, to the OR was attentive, thorough, welcoming, and kind. I canβt speak highly enough. Dr. Jake Petrosky was a phenomenal, informative, and friendly surgeon. The ER and nursing staff were extremely supportive. Thank you to the UH Geauga staff for turning a miserable situation into a pleasant experience. Iβm so grateful for their care.
Showed up here because my BP was 175/101 try highest its been, get there its 180/100+, sat in the waiting room for the usual amount, got back to the room when they called me in, didnt see a soul for the 2.5 hours I was sitting there. I told the nurse at the station I had to go. Not sure what was going on, short staffed or what, but I feel a bit disappointed that even I didnt come in to take any information. Its like they forgot about me.
I had surgery at university hospitol. Ive been several different hospitols all over the country but Ive never had better care that I received at this hospitalI want to thank the wonderful staff for taking care of me. I would special like thank the great personal Amber Tiffany Kevin Beth Sam Julia and Kayla they all when were the great thank you all.
Iβm from Michigan and I can say full heartily that University hospital is WAY better than ANY Michigan hospital Iβve been to. Itβs the cleanest and the staff is quick, patient and have GREAT attitudes (MI drs and nurses always seem to have bad attitudes). Dr Borac and Nurse Patti are AMAZING! (Nurse Patti is my new Ohio friend) I felt so comfortable during my stay and really appreciate all the help I received. Thanks again nurses for the birthday gifts! It was sooo heartfelt . I am so thankful for their help in my recovery, I fully appreciate and recommend University Hospital.
My boyfriend is in there in icu. His daughter got mad at me so had me blocked. My boyfriend has lived with me for 10 years. Now I canβt get any information from any off the nurses. They are soooo rude!!! Worst experience ever!! Guaranteed I will be writing a letter to the president of the hospital real soon
Ive been to Lake Hospital Systems, Cleveland Clinic Hospitals, and now University Hospital Geauga. University Hospitals tops them all by far!! Staff is outstanding and the doctors were a lot more than just poke their head in and bill you doctors. They seemed genuinely concerned for my well-being and dedicated to me getting better. I cant say enough good things.
My granddaughter was bitten by a bat a year ago. The staff at Geauga is amazing. They are the most kind hearted, caring people weve ever encountered at a hospital. Just outstanding care and compassion. My daughter was also in the emergency room for slicing her finger opened and again we are just so impressed with what high quality care she received plus the staff! They seriously hire some off the nicest people weve ever met.
My fiancee had to go there for mental health issues. We switched from Cleveland clinic and associates. To university hospitals. The best move we have ever made. She was there in aug. Time frame. With her treatment there. She has not been back to behavioral health. At Cleveland clinic she would have been back 2 or 3 times . The staff. Nurses doctors staff. All who where there where beyond helpful. Although they did not wait on her like she was the only patient. They where close on how well she was treated. Cannot say well enough for U H and there staff. Can only give 5 stars. 10 is what they are
Use to be a great er .But they have consistently got worse with customer service and patient care. All we.seen is a bunch of staff sitting. My wife was put in a bed both hand rails up no call button and she had to phone er so she could go to the restroom. OVER CHARGE FOR THE CARE YOU GET......
I brought my husband to this ER after waiting for 3 hours at Hillcrest Hospital. He was in a great deal of pain from a kidney stone. He was seen within 10 minutes of arriving and in much less pain within 30 minutes. The staff was very helpful and professional. This is the only ER in the area that we will return to....even though I hope we never need to! Thanks so much for everything you did for my husband.
Great hospital! I had surgery here twice with dr.Jacob petrosky and heβs absolutely brilliant and so great. Dr.Zimmerman and Dr.mason in the ER Department are also great. Everyone is so caring, helpful and supportive and super professional . Iβm very impressed with the services here. Great job UH :)
I went to this hospital because I was involved in a car wreck. The wreck was not my fault and the other persons insurance was supposed to receive all bills from the hospital. They instead too their time until the insurance company refused to pay the bill and then charged it off to collections. I spoke with them once on it and they removed it and then charged it right back to me. I will die on the side of the road before I will ever go back to them!
I had outpatient surgery last week and everyone from reception to presurgery nurses and anesthesia nurses to post surgery staff were very respectful and helpful and caring! Thank you all for taking care of me so well and being so sweet especially when I was so nervous! Great care!
South Staff: Incredible group of people! I was going through a traumatic experience mentally and physically and all staff were compassionate and patient. The best experience I could have inside hospital. The transport people and staff who brought me meals were friendly and funny.
One exceptional staff member in your billing department Jennifer R. Is amazing outstanding you name it. My health journey began back in February when i found out i would have to have surgery again. I fought 2 different insurances, obamacare, the healthmarket plan, and potential work insurance. After much misrepresentation between all three insurances, two weeks on the phone straight after work crying i figured out which of the two i would for my surgery march 1. I have recently got two of the bills from uh. Long story short im still trying to figure out why i owe so much through my insurance which i think misled uh and i i cant thank jennifer r. In the billing department enough. She is going above and beyond her job helping straighten this out. She called to check on me tonight and told me she would be working on it tomorrow. People like jennifer is the reason why i chose UH hospitals and will continue to do so. She absolutely deserves appraise for her customer service and time and dedication for what she has done for me. In all honestly my bill is well over thousands but knowing i made the right choice keeping UH apart of my network and have people like Jennifer in the billing department on my side was worth it. Thank you so much Jennifer!
I had a procedure done on Feb 21,2019 all the staff from start to finish was amazing. I had to stay over night and it was wonderful. I dont like hospitals at all not even doctors offices but if I ever have to have another procedure done I would want to come to this hospital. Keep up the great work!!!!!
Exray tech in ER. Is rude and borderline incompetent. Patient care by her was unbelievably bad. Zero concern for patient. The only thing worse than her besside bedside manner was her additude. Would file a complaint but not sure anyone cares. Rest of the staff would have 5 start. Great place unless you need xrays.
I had my hip replaced in late May. They have a 18 bed wing called joint camp. I can not recommend this wing highly enough. Everyone working the wing specialises in Hip & Knee replacement and reconstruction and knows exactly what you need before you do and that translates into comfort. They have a dedicated physical therapy department just for joint camp. The choice was simple for this Clevelander, University Hospital Geauga Joint Camp, and all this could be for you, if you chose to get your tune up there.
Told by ER Doctor, pissapally afraid to get wife with ms pain , any type of pain med, bc hospital will call her in office and yell, REALLY, THOUGHT THE IDEA WAS TO treat and help. Came to this er since 6 grade .Sad day when they wont help ...Thanks Geauga UH For nothing..the 4000 people I work with will hear about this.and uh pres.
OK, so my girlfriend had an appointment at 1:45 to get a shot and we got there about 1:30. We waited a little bit and then a pregnant women came in and sat down and they called her in first! And then when we first came in my girlfriend was waiting at the check-in window and a lady sitting down said, you might be there a while, I was...So I would not reccomend this place at all
Worst experience ever in an emergency room put me in a room that had just a chair no bed and expected me to sit up the entire time feeling ill, nauseous and over all in painNot one Nurse ever came to the room to check on me or even ask if I needed anything a PA took some notes and never returnedAsked for something to eat as Im a diabetic had to wait 3 hours before anyone came byNot recommending coming back

2022-06-03As a child I received outstanding care at Geauga Hospital. After UH took over, things changed but I thought good care would be available. Untrue. After many poor experiences, I have to accept that Geauga seems to be full of main campus rejects. Social worker Cindy is terrible. Social workers are supposed to aid the patients. My father had a long-term sickness so I dealt with many social workers. The social.workers at main campus and at the Clinic were very good. She does not and instead goes with what the doctor says and refuses to help the patient. She needs to retire. Some nurses are good but most are poor at communicating and will not put in any extra effort for the patient which is unfortunate for all.The doctors are vague at best. One in particular refused to take any responsibility and instead said she had to contact her superior with questions over the phone because he was off for the day. At other hospitals when an attending doctor is off the current attending doctor on call makes decisions. It seemed as though the doctor on call was not a doctor capable of making decisions and therefore was not a doctor. These were not life and death decisions. They were simple treatment questions.Things have gotten very odd there. Unfortunate.

2022-04-20So when I was pregnant, I searched the internet like crazy for a LABOR AND DELIVERY REVIEW FOR THIS HOSIPTAL, Ive now given birth there so I figured I write a review for another women doing the same thing!IT IS AMAZING! THE MOST POLITE, CONSIDERATE STAFF! I gave birth to my other children at Winnie Palmer in Orlando Florida its one of the best hospital in north America, my experience here was better than there! They were great, Id give them 10 stars out of five stars if I could, with my children Im very protective and prefer to be hands on with my newborn and do everything unless its absolutely medically necessary a nurse does it and not only where they respectful of that but encouraging for mother baby bonding, but also reassured me if I did need them for anything theyd be more than happy to help as well! The rooms are modern, the virtual tour isnt up to date, its very nice, very clean! The only thing I could complain about is the food is plain! But its a hospital so!

2022-07-06The care was great but the billing department is very rude !!! When you call in there you are on hold for an hour before talking to someone and they always tell you the same story .For once Iβm owed a credit on my bill instead of owing and I have been trying for months to get it resolved only to be told they are still working on it but they donβt have a problem sending you a bill every week if you owe them something. They seriously need better management when it comes to billing!!!!!

2022-04-04Just received a letter saying that uh geauga medical center terminated their contract with our insurance company what kind of b******* is this. This is the closest hospital to where I live and apparently theyre not getting enough money so they terminate contracts with the insurance companies they care nothing for the community or their patients they only care about the God Almighty big bucks.

2021-05-06I have had two different surgeries at two different times. Both experiences were excellent. I have been in several other hospitals and UH Geauga it the best. The care is excellent from the nurses and doctors to the housekeeping and meal delivery staff. Everyone is so caring, kind and gentle. They never seem rushed and take the time to make sure you are doing okay. This is my hospital of choice even though I live in Summit county.

2021-10-21I recently had to use this ER for a laceration on my knee. I could not walk normally due to the axe wound. An employee walking in noticed I had an issue and quickly got me a wheel chair and into triage. Triage took 15 minutes and I found myself in a room. The wait seemed like forever, but the wait time wasnt that bad. All of the staff was really great. They had good bed side manner, were personable and generally good people. Its only been three days, but the laceration is looking great and appears to be healing well.My only concern was that there were three beds with patients in the hall near the nurses station. I didnt feel safe being wheeled by them.

2021-09-29My husband met Dr. Ghandour when he went in to check on a possible recurring bladder cancer. It was confirmed that it had returned. In the course of treating this he ordered a chest x-ray which showed a large mass on my husbands lung. The care, treatment, professionalism, courtesy, respect and followup has been nothing short of amazing. He has truly raised the bar! His nurse, Kayla, is a huge asset to an already excellent experience. Because of our situation, he has needed to refer us to a specialist and he did not steer us wrong. I would happily recommend him to anyone in need of the services he provides.

2021-11-11I brought my husband on the recommendation of the local urgent care. The problems...the equipment used is not as up to date as it is at the eye doctor. That said, my husband was misdiagnosed, which we established after seeing the eye doctor the following day. I will say the good doctor was very calming, given the situation; and he made the appointment for the eye doctor for us. I said problems. The second being the wait time to see the doctor. Now, I have no idea how they decide the priority of their patients. I assumed it was the most urgent first. Guess not. After sitting for about 3.5 hours, he wanted to see an older couple first (who needed labs done). She was kind enough to forego her time with the doctor to put my husband before herself. My husband had been in pain from the day before with something imbedded in his eye. I said he was misdiagnosed. The doctor, once we saw him, suggested it was a burned cornea. Im not sure I will deal with emergencies in the future, but I doubt my first choice will be the hospital.
