Do NOT get any dental work done here. I just left my surgery came home too changed my gauzes and the dentist (when I find out his correct name I will update) left a infected tooth the one that’s been bothering me the most In my mouth and then on top of that the whole time he seem irritated and didn’t want to perform his job. Considering someone who already have super bad anxiety about going to the dentist. Yet another bad experience. I am so sad and disappointed. I called back and another doctor offered for me to come back in the morning after being in so much pain I had 6 extracted. Said just come back in the morning. Like I won’t be swollen, in pain and want to experience more trauma. I will be seeking a attorney! There’s no way as a doctor you see a bad infected tooth and you don’t mention it to your patient or suggest to pull it. Especially when it was on my plan of care!
Avoid this place at all cost. Before you consider going here just take a quick gander at the reviews. For every few good ones, they have several horrible ones and some that are very alarming! This is major surgery and if there is any doubt in your mind about this place just look at what others have been through, the long waiting is nothing to the way that they will treat you. I have seen people come out traumatized after seeing Alec Bankhead, DMD and then the after care - peoples stitches not being done properly and if he does prescribe anything for the pain just hope that he hasn’t left an infection / infected teeth in your head (that really happened, read the reviews) - it’s a miracle this place has three stars - I wouldn’t wish this type of treatment my worst enemy, I wouldn’t give this type of “medical care” out for free. Don’t take my word for it - read the reviews and think seriously before you trust these people.
Some of the surgeons are better than others... Make sure they talk to you about after care and concerns... my surgeon took care of my teeth and sent me on my way with a mouthwash and some pain pills.... I had to schedule another appointment to get any discussion of aftercare at all.... but in my return visit, a personable and very patient female surgeon addressed every concern I had and genuinely made me feel at ease. A thank you to her specifically. (Long story short, make sure they absolutely talk to you about aftercare and what might happen)P.S. This facility is one of the only places in Cincinnati that accept many different insurances for oral surgery so be prepared for a long wait time. The day of my surgery I waited an hour and a half after I arrived, and I even arrived early like they ask you too.... But for my return visit I got in right away.P.S.S. All in all I would say to come here with your expectations set reasonably... They will do a good job, but you need to speak up for yourself to make sure they teach you how to handle the surgery you just had. (That doesnt mean yell at them)
I had a tonsillectomy 2 days ago, couldnt have gone smoother. I arrived 10 minutes earlier than scheduled and they took me to a room immediately, the entire staff was nice and made me feel comfortable, and the surgery went through without issue. I was terrified before I left my home but by the time they were about to take me back, I was calm and collected from everyone reassuring me and answering all of my questions (they hadnt given me any relaxing meds yet, so it wasnt that!).
Poorly operated! I first called to schedule an appointment in May 2019...didn’t get an actual consultation until September. Because the wait was so long for a consultation, my wisdom teeth are trying to come in with no room, therefore, causing other permanent teeth to shift and it has come to be pretty painful in my jaw. While waiting for the consultation, the place was just dirty (I can’t stress this enough!!) and there were more people waiting than there were seats available (they suggest you prepare for a two hour wait & they weren’t wrong about that)!!The nurse that came and talked to me wasn’t the most profession. He didn’t introduce himself, didn’t shake my hand, and never smiled. He honestly acted miserable. Also, I’m confused why I didn’t speak with the surgeon and why the care after they surgery wasn’t mentioned.I schedule my surgery for mid Oct (so about a week away). Received a call today that they have to reschedule because the guy who provides anesthesia is out. The woman proceeded to then tell me that people who scheduled me for the surgery were aware of his absence, but scheduled me anyways. Extremely unfortunate. I’ve already requested off and my husband did as well.Anyways, I cooperated and rescheduled the appointment, but after reading all the negative reviews that confirm my feelings, I will not be going back for my surgery. I’m looking elsewhere. I recommend you don’t go to this place if you have that option!!
When I first looked at the reviews of this place I was concerned about taking my dad here. Almost all ones and fives. I looked more closely and saw that over the last maybe year or so the ones were mostly for long wait times, not for quality of care. We went there on a somewhat urgent basis for my dad and were treated very well by all the staff. I think you just go here and accept that there will be a long wait, and be nice to the staff and like anyone else, theyll be nice right back to you.I liked that the doc had some self-awareness. He came to the exam room and for a moment was starting to launch into his routine without listening much. (I think he had looked at records and already knew what he would be doing.) Again, to his credit, he checked himself and quickly changed his course and said You know what, you go ahead and tell the story and I will listen. This was Dr. Curtis. Strong (interpersonal) work there, doc.I also want to give a shout out to the smiling desk clerk, the registration lady with the granny from Alabama, and especially the surgical tech that obviously bonded with my dad.
At first I was extremely nervous but Dr. Curtis calmed me down and ensured me that I had nothing to worry about. The experience was by far the best treatment that I have ever received. He was very time efficient and did a great job with explaining what was going on and what to do with after care. I would highly recommend Dr. Curtis for anyone who needs an oral procedure done.
On 1/14/21 I had 2 teeth pulled in which was told to me would be a fairly quick an simple proceed. a dr by the name of DR. DeLEONIBUS was the person whose did the surgery. Tiny young woman. I was NOT offered to be put under only numbing shots. SHE stuck me over 15 times. . What was a fairly easy procedure turned into a 2 hour procedure. For the first hr she struggled to get the first tooth out and could not. A dr by the name of DR. KRISHNAN had to come in and take over to remove that one. She was allowed by UC to go in and try to get the 2nd tooth out which took almost another hr and again she could not,and a dr by the name of DR. VERMA had to come in and remove the 2nd tooth but before she did DR DeLEONIBUS CRACKED an DAMAGED the tooth right next to it. Imagine sitting there for 2 hrs while someone struggles to remove teeth and u can almost feel everything. After she damaged the tooth she cut herself with one of the instruments and started to BLEED EVERYWHERE. I was then asked and told I need to allow the to take blood from me to make sure I have no STDS OR ANY OTHER DISEASESRIDICULOUS behavior from a supposed DRin a dental place. I was told by a DR MICHAEL GRAU(Not the dr her did the damage to the teeth she was no where to be found after the problems she caused) he wanted to do everything in his power to help me an make the situation right. He did nothingI contacted a MR. PEOPLES who is suppose to be someone who over sees everything that goes on in them office and told him what had happened and told him I feel she was NEGLECTFUL and at FAULT. He basically defended her and told me he didn’t think they or her was to blame and there was nothing they could do to help me. He they said he would have their legal team reach out to me ( which they havnt) and I was told it was my right to see an attorney. I have never felt so disrespected in my life from a physician.I went in to get 2 teeth pulled an left with a 3rd damaged an more problems then when I walked in and now that tooth needs to come outI DONT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE AND IF U DECIDED TO GO ANYWAY I WOULD T TELL THEM U DONT WANT DR. DeLEONIBUS TO WORK ON U.NO ONE SHOULD HAVE TO GO THRU WHAT HAPPENED TO ME THERE IF U DONT HAVE TOTHESE DR’S HERE ARE INTERNSTHERE ARE BETTER PLACES IN CINCY WHO WILL WILL TREAT U BETTER AN WILL TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIER ACTIONS IF THEY MESS SOMETHING UP
Dont take you back in a timely manner at all. Had my wisdom teeth removal consult and was there a total of 3 hours! Then 2 months later I had a scheduled surgery at 10:30. 11 comes around and no sign of getting called back so I asked someone and she said she would go check and finally we got somewhere (we shouldnt have to ask when we will have our surgery). 4 days after my surgery I thought I had an infection and the pain pills I was prescribed hadnt worked since day 1. Apparently you have to call and leave a message and they call you back the next day. Well I called and left messages twice and never heard from them. Seems awful to me that they get a message from a patient saying they feel they have an infection and dont even call back (makes it worse Im a heart patient) thank goodness 3 days after my phone calls it seemed to get better.
Try to avoid this place if possible. The wait is horrible. I had a wisdom teeth consultation scheduled for 11am and they didnt even see me for two hours after my scheduled time! Their schedule was incredibly backed up 3 monthes. The staff was incredibly nice though!Edit: After having my wisdom teeth removed here, i decided to change my review from 2 stars to 1. One of my stitches was not done right and came out as soon as i got home. They did not fill out the prescription for my oral antiseptic correctly and they would not answer the phone over the weekend, so my wounds went unclean and got infected!
This is Debi. I had my sinus surgery today. It was my 3rd sinus surgery at 3 different hospitals. Holmes was the best. Every single person I came in contact with was friendly, caring, professional, and empathetic. They really listened to me and took steps to make sure my surgery and recovery went smoothly and successfully. I was was informed of everything that would be done to me each step of the way. I was especially thankful that I was allowed to take my time recovering and was not rushed out the door. Thank you for your excellent care.
Went in for a consultation. Waiting a total of 2 hours all together (which yes the paper I received informed me of that) The waiting room was too loud because people were yelling (not talking) and not respecting they were in a office setting. As I sat there in the same chair off and on for the 2 hrs a bed bug was crawling on my pant leg. I freaked out, killed it and proceeded to tell the receptionist. Hopefully they will do something about that issue. I get it, its a public area and things happen however it should also be cleaned properly and treated a certain amount of times for these reasons. Felt very uncomfortable the whole time. The staff were good and friendly. Kinda nervous to return for the surgery.
My son had surgery today. 2 exposers all wisdom teeth extracted along with a few baby teeth. Its like Drive through. After they take the patient back the very next step is to go to get the car. NO after surgery consolation. I told his surgeon that his X-ray along with 3 other Drs confirmed his exposures where to be done from his pallet. She refused to take that advise or read the notes and caused extra painful steps. Our children deserve better quality. Ill self pay or take out a loan before I ever take my child to to Holmes hospital for Oral surgery. Also his prescriptions was supposed to be filled during surgery and they just handed them to my 17 year old son after he woke up from Major oral surgery.. I felt uneasy the entire time. Lets no forget the nurse who brought him to the car almost flipped him out of the wheelchair . They suck period
I got to my orthopedic appointment with a broken foot, walking myself in, went to the wing building, called to say I was late bc I went to the wrong building, get there and see Dr dixon bumped my appointment bc I was late. Maybe some consideration for your patients who are incapacitated would be advised. It is hard to get around with a broken foot to only go to the place you need to find out they bumped your appointment.
I highly recommend this place the are amazing I had 12 teeth pulled a few years ago and woke up with absolutely no pain then I just two days ago I had 1 tooth pulled out and again I woke up with absolutely no pain!!!!! I will always go here for any oral surgery that I have to have I don’t how they do it but they are magical
The problem wasnt the actually surgery but what occurred afterwards. I got 4 wisdom teeth removed in June. I found from my mother that during the surgery a cavity popped out and they couldnt fix it. I find that odd because this is a SURGERY CENTER. Im pretty sure this has happened before. They told me to get it fixed my dentist. I will be doing so along with letting my dentist know to never recommend me or any of his patients to this surgery center. May look further into this, just feel that its wrong that they get to make a mistake and not have to fix it and I have to suffer.
I had all of my top teeth pulled and a denture seated. The staff was friendly BUT they only prescribed me enough pain meds for 3 days. I’m on day 5 and ran out of meds. The pain is excruciating. It’s so bad I found myself breaking the tablets in half to try to stretch them out longer. They give the weakest pain meds possible. ( I understand people abuse them, but that’s not my fault. I feel like I’m being punished because of a couple dope fiends)They did not prescribe any antibiotics, whitch is stupid. Those of us with no dental insurance don’t want to pay to go to another dentist the days fallowing the procedure for antibiotics. It could have all been done the same day as the surgery. I’m sore, severely bruised, and swollen and I can’t even get a call back from this place. So many things can go wrong fast and it really seems like they don’t care. I am so disappointed. BEWARE. IF YOU CAN GO SOMEWHERE ELSE, DO THAT. YOU DONT WANT THESE KINDS OF PROBLEMS.
Registration staff was nice. Had hand surgery scheduled at 1215. Got there at 10. At 130, I still wasnt in surgery. Didnt get any type of information on when I was going in until I told them I was leaving. Transferred care to UC WEST CHESTER NORTH.Holmes Hospital, to me, felt like it should be on Ghost Adventures. Very uneasy feelings in that place.
If its possible, please avoid this place! I have never seen a group of less professional people in my life. I have TMJ and I went for a consultation regarding surgery about 3 months ago. My appointment was at 8:30 and I wasnt seen until after 10. They took me to the back about 5 different times for random, almost pointless things. Secondly, when I FINALLY got called back to see a doctor he was extremely rude, never introduced himself, made me feel stupid when I asked questions, and literally told me my problem wasnt that bad, and finally revealed that he was just a nurse. The doctor I scheduled an appointment with wasnt even there and no one told me! And lastly, I had to reschedule my surgery so I called and left a voicemail. That was almost 2 weeks ago. No call back. They never even called to find out why I didnt show up!So all-in-all, NEVER trust these people to perform surgery on you. Thats a huge risk! It seems they only hire people who do not care about the needs and welfare of others.
My girlfriend had a lost of vision and short breath before we rushed to there looking for help. Leaving her like that, they slowly checked doctor’s availability and told us two things. One they don’t take walk-ins anymore, secondly, the doctor won’t be available until three hours later. Two nurses didn’t even come to do a vital test. Nothing, and one left for lunch. When we ask if we can do something to make the patient comfortable, the elder nurse become so impatient and looked extremely annoyed. These are bugs in the system. They don’t care about their job and duty. Coming in late, leaving early and taking extra long for lunch. And when it comes to the job they suppose to do, they could not do it. Obviously the health insurance we paid for UC didn’t feed them well.
I went in today at 7am for a 1 wisdom tooth extraction, and 8 of my top front teeth extracted. Im on methadone treatment on a daily basis. I had 8 teeth pulled and one cut from my jaw and wasnt even prescribed tylenol!!!!! Its 10pm at night and my jaw is bruised and in severe pain. They said the methadone is more potent than any pain meds they can prescribe, even though I dont use methadone as a pain medication, and I dont have extra methadone to take for the obvious extra pain I am in as of now. Even if I was prescribed pain medicine from my primary for an issue I had previously, that medication is for that issue, so I would need alternate or more medicine for a new injury. . . I have received medication from my dentist for 1 tooth extraction, much less 8 pulled and a wisdom tooth cut from my jaw..... This is just unheard of and Im not going to continue to let this happen to others!!! This place is outrageous to say the least....... I need to speak to the supervisor here!!!
Dr. A. Kang was wonderful!! I could not have the full surgical procedure I was scheduled for due to my health at the time, but he was able to do a local and remove the tooth that had caused me so much misery!! The nurse was also very kind and the surgical assistant Brittany helped so much!!
To Kierra(spell incorrectly)? Who took my call at 10:28 a.m. and work with me to get my brother a 1:20 pm. appt with Dr. J. Forrester yesterday (1/31/17)To all the staff who participated in the Care, Concern, Professionalism and Expediting of the Excellent Care he received.Statements/concernsI’m so sorry you’re feeling bad, it’s time to go in the hospital(Doctor)I’m getting the cart.Turn the oxygen to 3,I’m getting a breathing mask.Put your hand inside your shirt to get it warmer.Let’s turn the oxygen to 4.Ambulance is on the way.Let’s put the electrodes on him so that he will be ready for transporting. If they don’t get here soon, we’re calling 911.I’ve call the doctors in E.D.Ambulance arrived (my Mom and I was escorted to the waiting area. They handed us Kleenex.Would we like some water? (they went and got it)Do you have your token to get out of the parking lot?I have one, take this one. They just stayed there with us.We could fix our eyes on my brother (very alert) as he was transported to the ambulance.Escorted us all the way to the front door.Thank you so much for the professionalism, the loving care and support.
My daughter has an appointment coming up and reading these reviews have me so scared and uncomfortable. What other option is there? Is there even another one? I can say this...if one thing makes her uncomfortable, Ill stop all of it. Im not going to allow her to be pained by something that could have been prevented. Hoping for the best.
Always show up atleast an hour late, because that’s how much they’re regularly behind by. Sometimes long, and it’s consistent. 4/4 times I’ve been been here, I’ve waited an extra hour. On top of that there is 0 communication on the reason for delays other than “Were doing our best to get you in quickly”

2022-09-01I had scheduled my sons wisdom teeth removal for today, September 1st 2022 at 10:30am. When I arrived, they put him as a consultation. I told them that was not correct, he had the consultation already. He was here for surgery. The registration employees told me I didnt know what I was talking about and kept telling me what hospital I was in...like i didnt already know. After a few interactions with a different employees, they finally came across his referral. And realized that the scheduling staff made a huge mistake. They put him on the surgery list and told me to come back at 1p. Failed to tell me I had to check in again so we sat in the waiting area for 1hr and a half before a nurse came in and told me i needed to recheck in. So here it is 2:23p and he still has yet to go back to have his wisdom teeth removed. He is a childrens hospital dental patient and I do not recommend UC hospital for teeth removal as it seems there is zero communication between the two hospitals that are supposedly correlating together.--Upset Mother

2022-09-04Had 3 wisdom teeth and a molar removed. Very professional and caring staff from check-in to the anesthesiologist. Wait time was about a hour to hour and half. I highly recommend getting IV sedation especially if your teeth are impacted.

2022-08-16Getting downtown at 7am for my daughters wisdom teeth extraction was not the first thing we would have chosen to do on a Tuesday morning. But Ms. Kelly who checked us in at the UC Holmes Hospital - Dept. of Surgery - Div of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery knew how to make this very early morning start off in the most wonderful way. She was extremely friendly and made the check in process go very smooth. Thank you, Ms. Kelly!!!

2022-08-24Although the care team stood around my bed and agreed to all of my information before wheeling me into surgery, somehow that all got lost or ignored. I woke up with no pain medication, the recovery nurse got frazzled, brought in the PA to speak with me who was rude, and the surgeon didnt update me or my caregiver. Worst experience with no apology.

2022-06-05Still suffering from wisdom teeth surgery I had in 2018. Also seems racist, I remember when I had surgery a black woman was screaming in pain and no one helped her but they were attending to me who was fine

2022-01-07Be sure to have a wad of cash on you when coming here. My husband had a surgery scheduled and we turned in here thinking it was the correct building and it wasn’t. Before figuring this out, we went through the toll gate. The sign said patients parking is free. We didn’t even get out of the car to figure out we were at the wrong building. Went around to leave, inserted the ticket and said we owed $15.00. We called for assistance and waited but no one came. There were 3 impatient drivers behind us and we could not backup to wait any longer on assistance so we were forced to pay this price, for simply entering the wrong parking lot. Why on earth is ANY hospital charging FIFTEEN DOLLARS for parking?! That is absurd. I couldn’t imagine the price had I been here for several hours like the majority of the people are. This says a lot about this hospital.

2021-09-04Very thankful for their staff. I had my wisdom tooth removed here and a month later the jaw bone became infected. I came back walked right in and they helped me right away! I felt instant relief. It was amazing to feel so well cared for in such a needy time! I appreciate all the staff. Yes it gets chaotic here, but these people aren’t regular dentist, they take some emergency situations as well!

2021-11-15I had multiple extractions this past Wednesday, I opted not to be put to sleep. The attending surgeon was professional as well as the assistant.I was so nervous about my procedure.. my BP was 159/100 , I tried very hard to keep my self centered and breathe through this process ..I really had a rough time procedure wise .I was almost to the finish line when the door burst open and a staff member demanded that the surgeon or assistant hurry up, :(I completely understand that the waiting room was filled with people, and I also understand that patients go bad, and Dentist/Surgeons need assistance. The disregard of knocking on the door and politely pardoning the intrusion along with a loud demand ..not a question. That was completely unprofessional. I dont care if he is the head of the dental department or whom ever the gentleman may be. He definitely needs to attend an ethics class along with a bed side manner class to remind him or maybe humble him so that he can once again be taught what it feels like to be in that chair. The surgeon assured me that he would not rush the process, but my stomach immediately went to a knot. Not only was this procedure hard for me to accept, but now I was horrified. I felt as if I didnt matter as a patient and any secureness that I did have was definitely shattered.I hope that no-one has to experience this type of disregard during a life changing procedure ,Its hard enough with change. Let alone feeling like another number.

2022-08-07Cincinnati UC Hospital has some staff members and employees that are practicing evil and are destroying and aiding in ending lives rather than helping to cure and save, is there a higher Justice or just a higher cover up for evil and wrongful doings.
