First time in my life I left an appointment for a service without getting what I came for. I wanted to get a trailer hitch and wiring harness installed.1) No one was in the store. Not a big deal, but:2) When I went outside, three employees were just standing there chatting. I was waiting for someone to ask what I needed. The woman (lets just call her Karen) just walked right past me into the store, ignoring me. Also not so bad, but definitely not polite.3) I told Karen I had an appointment at 9. She looked it up in her computer and said I need to come back at 11. Not a huge deal, but I did specifically get an appointment at 9. The install was supposed to take two hours.4) I said that I would like to wait outside when I come back at 11. She argued with me that I cant do that because of the pandemic. I tried to ask what difference does it make if Im outside walking somewhere? to which her reply was practically in disbelief that I would want to wait two hours, and that its drop off only. I also explained that it was a half hour drive, so getting a second person to drive four half hour trips for a two hour wait literally makes no sense.5) She had the most arrogant fake smile. I asked Karen, do you want the business or not? to which her reply was youre free to go somewhere else, and Im not going to stand here arguing with you. So I left.Im honestly shocked someone would argue with me over something so stupid. What difference does it make if I walk outside?
If you are looking for customer service and staff willing to go the extra mile to assist I highly recommend the shop on Reynolds rd. I came into the shop needing an installation for a hitch on time crunch and Jessica Anderson was a huge help. I will be back for all of my moving needs.
The general manager Jessica is extremely rude after they mistakenly charged me for another day rental when I returned truck on time. Still missing extra money charged to my card(other than the extra day rental they mistakenly charged) that Jessica told me I wasn’t charged even after I showed her on my account. She was so rude on the phone I had to take a trip up to the store! Didn’t resolve anything, still out of my money!
I know this is a cliché, but if I could give zero stars I would! The experience was horrible. Myself and my Husband recently relocated to Florida from the Toledo area. This past week we flew him and his Mom, who lives in NC, up to Ohio for us to rent a truck from U-Haul and drive all of my belongings down to where I am now living. After traveling for hours and not arriving in the area until late at night, they were expecting to go to the U-Haul and pick up the truck as it was arranged by the representative. However, much to our surprise an employee attempted to charge my credit card twice and for two different amounts. This of course came up suspected fraud and surpassed the limit on my card, and this of course stopped us from being able to actually pick up the truck. We were never informed that it was not scheduled to be picked up. We got to Toledo and because of this was stranded with no way back to Florida. They attempted to get this resolved with U-Haul while in Ohio so we could still get the truck as planned, but they told me there was nothing they could do. Because of the incompetence of one employee who was not properly doing their job I was not able to get my belongings. He traveled 1250 miles, had his Mom travel 675 miles, and was forced to fork out close to $800 in plane tickets to simply get us back to Florida. This money was supposed to pay for my U-Haul rental, but because of a screw up on U-Hauls end had to just simply blow this money. I am very upset with this situation because now I have to come up with more money in order to now pay for the unexpected plane tickets, the future moving truck, the future expense, and being forced to take off more time from work. I WILL NEVER use U-Haul again! I will make sure people know my experience and hopefully I will save others from having this experience.
Review is based on experience getting hitch installed. Calling I had some good and some ok conversations. Later I found out its because if you call the local number but no one picks up (busy, etc) youll get forwarded to a call center. Well I ordered my hitch via call center (unbeknownst to me) and they decided to express ship my part for $66 even though I was in no rush. Thus when I showed up to appointment my price was over what I was quoted on the phone. I was livid. Plus the $66 express was silly considering they called me and pushed my appt back a week because it was not in on time. However, the local people actually in store were wonderful. The gentleman made it right comping the labor to make up the difference for the express shipping I never asked for or okd. They got my hitch put on quickly and updated me while they worked. So call center 1 star, local people 5 star.
This had to be one of the worst experiences Ive ever had at a uhaul location, I called and set up an appointment for 6:30 PM on 8/20/2018 when I arrived I waited around for 20 minutes for someone to even show up at the counter. When he did eventually show up he was incredibly un-professional (shoes untied and running across the lot) he then tried to give me a trailer with non functional lights, then ended up letting me leave with a trailer with no chains to secure my vehicle, so after buying to straps and towing my car, I returned it as instructed to the store it came from. Well today 8/24/18 I wake up to ANOTHER charge on my card from u-haul for $67.51 for the trailer! Im beyond upset with the service I received just to be charged for a trailer that was returned at the time and manner that was instructed by their employee. If you value your hard earned money avoid this place like the plague!!!
Apparently the propane refilling station doesn’t open till 11 am. That is a minor detail you should post beside you regular store hours. Even though there are no other customers on the property they desire to set at the front counter being unproductive instead of selling propane to a customer that needs some.
After an 11 hour trip from DC to Toledo, I was told as I exited the highway that my rear lights on my trailer were not working. This was extremely upsetting to me because it was dark for 3 hours of that drive and no one could see my vehicle from behind. A DC U-Haul location installed my hitch and another one set up my trailer. Neither effectively checked to make sure the lights worked.This location, however, was so helpful! I came to them and explained the problem, and even though they didnt have time in their normal schedule to fit in hitch troubleshooting, the manager scheduled a technician to come in two hours early so that he could take a look at it before I had to continue driving. And they fixed the faulty wiring problem for free. It was very appreciated!

2022-05-15I would give it a negative star If I could! This was the first time I rented a truck from this branch, and 2nd time in total from Uhaul! It was a very short trip below 10mile! I just forgot to take a pic from the truck before use. After 2days they charged me $401 for window damage! I’m definitely sure there was no problem with the window and I did not do anything! They also refused to show me the car, they just send me a close up image of the damage, it is not clear what truck it is!! Do not rent from them, or make sure you get many pics from the car!

2022-04-06I have been renting a storage unit for over a year & was not aware of the disc lock rule. But nowhere does it say that any other kind is prohibited... I get a call saying to come change it & when I stated I needed some time as I just had a baby & didnt live on that side of town I was told No, we are putting one on your unit & you can come to our location & get the key. When my husband came to pick up the key, not one person thought to say to him or write on the envelope owes $ for lock. That would have been smart. But instead they charge my account just a few hours later without telling me! How messed up is it that I dont get any time to get my own lock & change it myself & get charged more than a disc lock at Harbor Freight costs & then when I called to speak to the woman about it who had called me initially, she got so upset with my persistence that she wanted to hang up but instead put me on hold for over 20 minutes then had a gentleman finish the call for her. I will be finished with Uhaul as an entire company (trucks & storage units) after I can get out this Spring.

2022-08-19Just call or make an appointment online before you show, plan on spending at least $40 on gas to fill the tank back up, this is the only company around that rents out an assortment of vehicles- and they know it! Sucks but these are their rules. It’s extremely easy and quick drop off of the vehicle, I’ve never received “extra” charges, and most receptionists are quick and to the point.

2022-02-14I rented a truck from U-Haul the first of the month when I went to return the truck it was 20 minutes till 7:00 they close at 7:00 and you get a late fee after that the young lady was busy and she took my keys at 20 minutes after 7:00 now Im charged a $200 fee for after 7:00 and they also gave me a truck that only had a quarter of a tank and then charged me to refill it even though I gave it back to them with the same amount of gas approximately and they charge me for cleaning it even though we swept it out they wanted it mopped

2019-11-26I took my 2011 Crown Victoria to get a hitch installed and wiring harness. I dropped it off at 2:45 pm they called me around 7 to get it. The wiring install wasnt professional at all. I have to take to another location to fix the wiring. I would not let them install any wiring. They had a young kid install it on my car. When I was asking him about why they ran it the way they did.. his response if it was my car.. I would have did it different.

2020-07-24Every time I’ve come here I’ve been helped with a great attitude and respect. The staff make it easy to get in and get out and they try to help as much as they can. I’m extremely satisfied with coming to this location and Appreciate all the help they gave me. The manager i believe his name is Raphael, extremely polite and professional. Will recommend and return in the future if need be.
