I rented a flatbed trailer and my fuses were burned out for the lights so I could not take it but if it hadn’t been for the manager at this location who help me look up which fuses I needed to change I would’ve never gotten what I was going to pick up. Great team at this location!
These people are amazing! Their staff goes above and beyond to be professional, kind, and courteous. Ive had to rent a truck from them twice in the past week, and I swear Ive never had a better experience with any rental company. They are absolutely in the top tier of customer service professionals in my opinion, and I will always be a customer. I refuse to go anywhere else!
Very horrible customer service. Called in to reserve uhaul and the guy working March 20th at 8:50 am literally picked up the phone and hung up. Left me on hold for a total of 40 minutes. Called back multiple time and he answered and said hold 6 times in a row. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND
Worse customer service. Rude since i got there. Waiting 30 minutes while someone was on phone and manage refused to help although he was not working on anything else. Finally i had someone taking my refervatiin and first thing he says i am over an hour late and they do not need rent trailer to me anymore. I told him i had been waiting in lobby for 30 minutes of that hour and i had a 24 hour reservation anyways and trailer was still in there lot. He agreed to let me rent but as i was giving him my driver license he said i had to tell him address twice and he didnt get it. Instead of giving him adress a third time verbally i asked him to read off my drivers license. He said it was jot his job to do that so i agreed to leve rather than try to gove address a 3rd time
I recommend doubling your ESTIMATED return time if you rent from this U haul because if you go over your ESTIMATED return time you will get some harassing phone calls to return their truck. Ive never had this problem before over the last 25 years of using other U haul centers. If all possible use another U haul but if your have to use this U haul, remember to double your estimated return time, youve been warned...
This place is a joke they installed a wiring harness contacted them back about them wiring the harness incorrectly I got pulled over by odot cannot use my tow truck due to them incorrectly wiring the harnessed contacted them sent them the input the information they requested they told me it’s not enough information and talk to a few installers there because when I turned left turn signal on the lights come on like it’s a hazard are on Everything on the right hand side works hit the brake left side barely lights up right side it’s fine now they don’t wanna refund me my money because they said they can’t come out to my vehicle to fix the problem and I don’t want to pay me for my downtime they said I can have it towed there to have someone fix it but they don’t wanna pay for the tow and I don’t wanna mitt that it’s their fault
Dont rent here. Manager charged me for gas when the reading was clearly in line with what was on the paper after I had just refilled. This was in fact higher than the tank was when it was picked the truck up. The manager then accused me of “dispecting” him for raising my voice after he basically robbed me.AVOID THIS PLACE.
There are other UHAUL locations closer to my home but I always choose this one (Lorain Ave., near Kamms Corner) because they consistently deliver great service. The employees are friendly and kind as they do their work. The trucks have been clean and reliable. I’m sure they deal with a lot of stressed out customers which can’t be easy. This team did great.
RUN don’t walk from this location. Been renting U-Haul trucks for over 4 years on my own and for years before that with my father and have never EVER received such poor customer service. Was greeted by an obviously irritated worker when I came in to drop off my keys and ask about an additional charge, which was never addressed by him mind you. He was rude and short with me throughout the whole experience. I used Truck Share 24/7 which he CLEARLY was not trained on. I told him I returned my truck and he says “doesn’t look like you did” to which I showed him the picture of my parked truck. I don’t have to check in and out at the store with truck share. That’s the whole point. And then he accused me of damaging the truck of which I most certainly didn’t. He’s like “looks like you did” and tried pressuring me into admitting fault for something I did not do. I will NEVER return to this location. I’d rather pay a mileage overage charge to go to another location than ever step foot in this place again. Uncalled for. Dude needs retrained on how to talk to people. I will definitely rent from U-Haul again. But never EVER from here.
Called the day before to see if they fill propane for motorhomes to which they said yes. The following day I drove over to have it filled and the guy at the desk said they do not. Misconception.. Found a place that was a dollar cheaper per gallon anyhow. Last time I ever go to this place.
Horrific up charges, not up front, charges for not going to their website, reporting information, not being tech-savvy, not topping off gas, made reservation to pick up a 24-hour truck, they told me they only have a truck that needs to be brought back ‘tonight’, brought it back...penalizes for got not going to their website...manager is vague and not up front...never again!!!
The service there is okay. What I hate the most is that when you buzzed to get help to go into the storage area, sometimes someone answers the buzz or you have to go to the front of the store to get help. This might be acceptable when the weather is good but it is not acceptable when the weather is bad.There is always a problem getting into storage and if the store is closed you are just out of luck because when you call the number that is listed on the door they tell you to contact the store manager the next day.
Dont let Brian Sanner check your truck in. He will charge you for dirt on the floor mats. Any other Uhaul will say something before just charging you. This is the type of employee that brings negative reviews to the store. I rent Uhauls several time a year and i have never had an employee charge me for dirt on the floor mat. So I clean the floor mats and then he tells me he will not reverse the charge. So I think that he has other things on his mind other than dirt on the floor mats. Uhaul get your employee some customer service training. First by greeting your customers. If there is a problem say something to the customer.
I paid over a hundred dollars a month to store my things in floor space smaller than the stalls in most public bathrooms. Then, 9 months later, when I went to get my things, my furniture and boxes were covered in mold, mildew, and animal droppings. The insurance I paid for for those same 9 months? It covered NONE of those things. What a surprise. This has been a frustrating, difficult, expensive lesson. Not only will I never store anything at that facility again, I will caution everyone I know against it. I would have been better off selling what I could, and donating the rest to charity shops, before I considered U-Haul Moving & Storage at Lorain Avenue a good option.

2022-06-17The store took my online order, and had the trailer ready for my arrival. There was no line when I arrived, so they were able to help me right away.Although they [understandably] wouldnt allow me to rent the trailer because I didnt have a trailer wire harness, they were able to install a wire harness on the spot. The install took about an hour, and the installer did a very clean and professional install job in accordance with the installation instructions. No shortcuts were made in the install.I appreciated them getting the light/wire harness installed, so I could safetly do the towing I needed for that day, and any time I needed to tow again in the future. Overall experience was great!

2022-03-15I rented a car hauler. The rental agent refused to document the previous damage that I pointed out. He said he was only looking for major damages. This trailer had dents in fenders, one side was pulled away from the frame. one ratchet strap was damaged. The trailer was muddy and I had to use wd-40 to get the ratchet straps to function. the trailer also had bald tires! On a bright note, the people who checked the trailer back in the next day were very friendly & nice.

2022-05-16The reservation process went smoothly, the pick-up of the trailer went smoothly, it loaded great, it handled great, it is an extremely well designed unit with its onboard ramps, fold down left fender, tie down ratchets, and the jack on the tongue. I had a little difficulty doing the online check in when I returned the trailer at the locations off-hours, but it did not cause a problem with the total rental fees.

2022-06-11The service here is awful. There were 2 employees sitting at the desk so I ask if I can get a propane refill. They someone will be our there. I go out there. Ring the bell. Wait 5 minutes. Nothing. I go back inside to ask what up. They say someone will be out there. If they were busy I would have understood, but they werent. There was one customer the first time, but nkn the second time. It still took multiple minutes for them to get off there butts and help me. They come outside after me being there for 15 minutes only to tell me they cant refill it because its expired, which I didnt understand since I bought the tank this year. Once I was completely dissatisfied with their service I told them I was and they started giving me back talk. I told them I was going to leave a negative review because of their nasty attitude. They told me to do it. So here it is. I was here 6/11/22 at 5:45

2021-11-16I had an issue when I returned the vehicle 1.5 hours after my contract time. I realize this is to aid in the re-renting the vehicle and completely understand. Going forward I will have to add in some buffer time so as not to be charged an additional day charge for bringing the vehicle back past the contracted time. The representative who gave me this unpleasant news was very professional in dealing with me, who after a day of moving wasnt my best self. This has always been and excellent store. Thanks Jeff

2021-09-21Before I left, no one was with me when I looked over the truck. The mileage was over the gas was short. The back door was down so I had to open it to verify contents. Had asked about where to leave key after hours. Took me ten mins walki.g around to find it poor signage and small. The truck alignment was dangerous with amount of play in the steering. Hands in the 8 and noon position to drive straight. The door lock according to locksmith was pretty bad so not sure how store did not note a stuck lock as the key broke off after loading truck. Almost 4 hours before back on the road with new key. 1 hour trying to access the website or contact roadside assistance. No callback feature. 2 hours waiting on locksmith and 45 to get broken key out of door and new one made. The dolly was unable to be used as we had nothing to remove the zip tie but guess didnt need it but again shows lack of customer service from the start. Manually can remove tab. Requested compensation for delay and dolly was told I was given an extra day...10am from my 10pm estimate. I had truck back by 10pm and had stated during breakdown would need more. Which the breakdown was not my fault but the age and lack of maintenance of the uhaul trucks. I was compensated for the dolly and a set of furniture pads nothing towards the rental. I will never go back to this location and very likely never use uhaul again.
