By far the worst customer experience Ive ever had. I will go way out of my way to make sure I never have to deal with Uhaul again. -Impossibly long wait times. The poor staff member was all alone, and when I asked he said this is a regular, almost daily occurrence. Not a good look Uhaul. -I wasn’t given the proper paperwork, which I found out later will cost me extra. -Dishonest hidden fees, including the fact that I’m being charged to clean the truck even though I specifically stated it was in bad shape WHEN I GOT IT. I even took photo evidence of the food products that were left in the truck before I got it. -Dirty truck with all kinds of dash lights on. Thankfully I didn’t break down. Tires were nearly flat. -The gas mileage was at 3/4 and after driving it a grand total of 6 miles it was nearly empty which cost me an extra $60 out of my own pocket. Your advertising says 19.95, my bill (including my personal added expense of filling the gas tank even though there’s no reasonable way I should have had to after driving 6 miles) was over $100.
Horrible experience. Went to pick up a trailer for the day, all employees screaming and yelling at each other. Not one of them knew how to hook up a trailer. They kept insisting the brake cable needed to be hooked to one of the other chains. (If other chain came off, what would apply the brake to the trailer? It has to be hooked to the towing vehicle). When I told the employee that it was on wrong, so told me to go out the trailer back and leave. Completely rude and unprofessional as well as putting lives in danger if this is how they hook up every other customers vehicle. I ended up leaving the trailer in the middle of their lot since I was told I couldn’t take it. The employees didn’t even know what a hitch was. I will never go back to this location again. I’ve been renting uhauls for a long time and never once have I had a bad experience as I did at this one on 55th/Chester. I highly recommend if you need a uHaul, go to any location but this one.
The mileage was wrong i told the girl that was helping me she took a picture and told me she would change it. I also took a photo of miles and gas. The miles were 121145 however she changed it to 131135 which cost me about 10 more dollars then it should have. Also was told the tank was gonna be full and it wasnt. It was right before half. I have all the photos to prove this overall not super bad but not good either. Additionally the cargo van i reserved was given to someone else and I was given a truck that I wasnt comfortable driving.
Got charged for furniture dolly I reserved&they didnt have so I couldnt rent!!!!I reserved a furniture dolly on top of a 15ft truck from another location but rearranged to this location cuz the original location didnt have the truck. Anyways, i planned my moving with 2 of my dollies and 1 furniture dolly from u-haul. Turns out the location doesnt have one, so i had to somehow move without the dolly. When i returned, the representative didnt even open the door but just took the key saying returning? Thanks. Bye then closed the door without vehicle inspection or whatsoever. 1hr later, I was charged for the furniture dolly as lost or damaged. I didnt even get to rent it because the location didnt have one! Called the customer center, 20min hold, then was told the location GM has to check their inventory to see if they are missing one or not - probably to blame me if they are missing any. This location & u-haul being just a cheap scammer. Dont use u-haul - go to home depot.
I booked an appointment to install a trailer hitch at the Chester store! Nobody was there to install the hitch at the time of the appointment. Then I called the Mayfield store so that I can get an appointment, however, to book the appointment they were asking credit card details with the three digit security code!!! So I did not proceed with the appointment. Really Bad Experience!!
Services here for me was horrible. I waited outside for someone to fill my propane tank for about 10 to 15 minutes. A guy was washing a uhaul van outside. I asked how do i go about getting propane he says the lady thats inside will help me. My friend proceeded to go inside with the propane tank and she says hey you cant bring that inside. He went to place the tank near the refill station. I pushed the service button no response for additional 5minutes. We left the tank there and i went inside and waited in line another 10 minutes. When i was almost next in line, she yells out sir our propane tank is empty our truck havent arrived. My issue is why didnt she say that when we first walked in with it in hand and waited 20 minutes. It was hot yesterday no one had on mask. I and who i came with had our mask on and it was well over 5 people inside the store. I think they need a help wanted sign or now hiring because no one approached anyone. I live on the other side and usually theyll even get the tank and fill it up quickly. I wont be back there again.
The employees there are unprofessional, rude and inept. Most of them are not wearing masks, or if they are its improperly worn(just around their neck or hanging off the ear). On several occasions, the employees were on the phone texting or literally talking to a friend on their phone ON SPEAKER while talking to me/filling out paperwork for my truck!! Ive never had such a worse experience with U-Haul in my life. Everything there takes 4 times longer than other locations. I had to wait over an hour to get the truck because of them being slow and inefficient. I will never be returning to this location again even if its a big inconvience to me since it is the closest to where I live.
The only issue we had was the condition of the trailer’s wire harness. The coupling was damaged. We were able to force it together and the lights worked. The trailer’s harness needs to be serviced prior to next rental. The staff are customer service driven and professional. I highly recommend this location!
I feel that they need to be more informative on fees and accurate on documentation. also someone who had the truck before me had ashes . i was charged an inconvenience fee when i took the accurate steps to return vehicle i talk to customer service and the manager my situa wasn’t resolved correctly i will not return. was informed about a drop box or where to place key. customer service was all over the place and unprofessional.
Ordered a 17 truck. Worker came 20 minutes late to open shop. Only one person was working and was on the phone while he was helping me. Finally got the keys to the car (never received the blankets I ordered). Got a flat tire while trying to exit parking lot. Worker told me to come inside to figure it out. Made me wait in line (the line took 50/60 minutes for 4 customers). Paying for the insurance I figured I was able to receive a new truck. Nope. When I finally got to the front of the line he told me that I had to contact roadside assistance (which he could have told me before I waited an hour in line). Roadside went to repair tire but said it would be a 75 minute wait. Went to return the keys and get a refund. He denied me a refund and said it was my fault. This was the WORST customer service Ive ever had. Waited 3 hours without left with nothing but a $60 check and no truck. Never even got the truck off of the lot. The only helpful person was roadside service (who was blown away that I did not receive a refund). Ended up having to waste $100 more on a Home Depot flatbed truck which I couldnt get everything I needed with. I could have hired movers at $160 and had none of this headache. Avoid this location at all costs.
Drove throughout the night from Grand Rapids, MI to pick up a car in Cleveland. Asked couple running the store to rent a car dolly or trailer to haul the car back to Michigan. The couple were very helpful in the process and explained that neither would work for various reasons; even after calling around to locate equipment. They could’ve sold us the equipment that would’ve ruined the car or my truck, but they didn’t. Great customer service, clean store, friendly, & helpful.
I wish I could give negative stars! My husband took our Toyota here to get a hitch put on. after being there for over 4 HOURS, he was driving home and the vehicle started to overheat really bad! He had to pull over and my dad had to eventually come get him and the car. They popped the hood open and FOUND TIN FOIL WRAPPED AROUND THE COOLANT PIPE!!!! They never told us about it and acted like everything went as usual!!!! Completely tried to hide it!!! WE HAVE A TODDLER AND INFANT THAT RIDE IN THIS VEHICLE - not to mention the danger they put my husband in! I took pictures and called to complain but they had already forwarded their phones! I talked to customer service and reported it. Theyll be hearing from us tomorrow. Ill post everywhere on social media and tell any and every person I can if they do not refund us for the labour and pay for the part that we now have to order from Toyota. -Ticked.
A standard U-haul location that has a good selection of trucks and supplies. The people behind the counter can sometimes be a little short, but they were thoroughly overworked during the June-July moving rush, so it shouldnt be held against them. It wasnt the most fun experience in the world, but then, when is moving fun???
Some of the most incompetent service I’ve ever received. Completely got the wrong date on the truck and messed up the entire order. Made no effort at all to help correct, I had to go elsewhere. The manager’s effort to fix the situation was pathetic. I will not be using uhaul going forward

2022-01-02Customer service was a big issue when I was there The employees were rude. The manager kept me at the location longer than I needed to be. Apparently there was a problem with my online contract and the employee that was helping me couldnt help me instead of the manager taking over to assist me and let the inexperienced employee help the other customers he continued to help everyone else then when I get upset about the situation because I was there 40 mins and 2 customers that came in after me left he threatened to not take care of me at all then Ive they got my contract together I ordered a TV box that the location didnt not have he couldnt refund my money and when I called the customer service number was told that they would refund my money in 3-5 days after I get off the phone I ended it up another charge in my acct for the same box I never got... That makes 3 charges and $60+ for a box I never received

2021-09-04The young gentleman at the service desk was very helpful. He quickly ran thru the process for the required phone app enrollment, showed me where the drop key box was for after-hours and made sure I had the proper insurance. This employee was very thorough and I just want to say thank you. The service he provided me with is rare these days.

2022-03-26Had a reservation for 7am to rent a truck and they were closed. They are supposed to open at 7. Called customer service and they said they couldn’t get a hold of anyone. It’s now 8am and they’re are several people with reservations waiting for someone to show up.

2021-05-17Don’t go here!I reserved a small box truck for 12:00pm on 5/15/2021. There was a long line and one person working. All the trucks were behind so everyone was waiting to pick up or drop off.The only employee was frazzled and all those waiting. I feel bad for those who hired laborers because they had to reschedule. Anyone who walked in was out of luck.When I went to return my truck I waited almost an hour because people were dropping off trucks and parking anywhere which included blocking the driveway.The poor guy working had to rearrange the lot + deal with angry customers.I waited so long with other customers that we were giving incoming customers information on prices and what was available.Do yourself a favor and go someplace else!Very bad service but you can tell it’s a hire up issue.
