TruGreen Lawn Care in other cities:
Editing this review: Someone finally showed up but sprayed for pests NOT fleas/ticks as requested. Another phone call required and FINALLY it was done. It only took 2 months. So yesterday they showed up for the scheduled lawn treatment. Key words here are showed up. The technician didnt spray the backyard! Im not even certain he did the front but I can see the back from the kitchen where I was sitting and he didnt do it. Probably thought no one was home since no cars were in the driveway. I am done with this place. We have been a customer for a few years. I have called 3 times in the past 4 weeks asking for an additional flea/tick treatment for our yard and was told the request would have to entered as a sales lead. No one has called to schedule. Poor customer service. The folks Ive talked to on the phone have all been very courteous. I guess its the sales team that cant do their jobs.
I paid for full mosquito treatment for property they came out sprayed front yard and left. Terrible service. My problem is the back yard bushes trees and I have a pool. Would not recommend this company. I was totally misled on the phone. Paid $500 for my front yard to be treated in 5 minutes.
Decided to try true green on our lawn for our new home purchase. I paid for services upfront and it started out well. Communication broke down throughout the summer and some services weren’t completed in full. Unfortunately, I left reviews in the app and asked for someone to call and it never happened. We also will not be continuing with services going forward.
I had my yard graded, seeded, and hay/netting put down by henderson landscaping, 1 week later tru green pops up out of nowhere and sprays everything with pre emergent, they hit two other houses on the street as well and we are the only three houses with no grass growing after 6 weeks, while everyone else has full yards. They attempted to seed the yard, but only the very back of the yard and nothing else, still no grass and they have given up apparently. I have put down 100 lbs of additional grass seed and top dressed with soil and getting sporadic results. Thanks tru green for the drive by lawn killing operation you have going on. See you in court!
After my yard was supposedly treated approximately 6 times by Trugreen, I still had as many weeds as my neighbor whom doesnt have his yard treated at all. I called to cancel the sevice and was asked why. They asked me to give them another chance and that a supervisor would come and walk my yard with me to come up with a plan. I never heard back from a supervisor, but the yard was treated agains. So I called again and informed them to stop the sevice. Once again for a second time they supposedly treated my yard after I cancelled the service. I called again and informed them if they treated my yard again, I would get an attorney involved and that I was not going to be responsible for the charges from the last two treatments. I was advised that they would credit the account to show a zero balance. The next thing I know Im receiving a bill from a collection agency.SO IF YOURE THINKING ABOUT TRUGREEN DONT!!!Disappointed Mike
My lawn has not look better. The specialist always knocks to let someone know he is treating the lawn. I have not had a chance to speak to he specialist when he provides the service, but the specialist I spoke to last year when I called about the service was friendly and let me know he did an estimate using the internet to view my yard. Scheduling is not a problem, there is no need for anyone to be home. My neighbor liked the way my lawn looked and is now getting the service also.
First, we were assured that within a year, our thin, weedy, and sparse lawn would be very lush. After a full-year of treatment, our lawn looks just as bad as it did at the beginning. After voicing our dissatisfaction, we were contacted by TruGreen and were assured they would get our lawn in shape, but it never happened. The worst part is that we were not informed when we signed up that our account would be automatically renewed. During the winter months, we received mailers from TruGreen, that looked just like junk mail, advertising their services. We threw them away because we had no intention of wasting any more money with them. Today, a TruGreen service person came and put on the seasons first application. When we called to see why our service had resumed, we were told we had been auto-renewed and would have to pay $60.04 for todays application!!! THIS IS TRICKERY! Apparently, the account sign-up person was supposed to tell us this in advance, and the FINE PRINT of the winter junk mailers mentioned it too. After arguing with the phone rep, we agreed to pay 50% of todays application, but we should have not been coerced into this. This demonstrates a major lack of company integrity to fool people out of their money with the secret auto-renew clause they dont make apparent. I think the only thing that is tru green is the companys wallet because its sure not our lawn! Oh, and after the first application that was put on today, the service technician wrote that he noticed our lawn was greening up. Im not sure why he didnt mention that he noticed our lawn was a sparse landscape that had not improved--guess that wouldnt have made his company look good. Other lawn care companies Ive contacted assured me TruGreen doesnt take into account the soil differences from one geographic area to another, even though they claim to, and this is why their treatment has been ineffective. Go for a locally owned and family operated business--they put more pride into their service!
Customer service at a supervisor/management level is extremely poor. I have been waiting for a month for a person (ANYONE ) to contact me about burnt spots in my lawn from an application. The level of customer satisfaction is terrible. They dont deserve 1 star in my opinion. I cancelled my service and advise anyone to seek other companies. I would hire the 12 year old boy who cuts grass in my neighborhood before I would go back to Trugreen!
Account was set-up on Auto-Pay but they continued to debit my account even after I moved and sold property and requested termination of service. When I called to advise them of this and request a refund, they said that their systems are all automated and they were not able to verify whether or not I had been contacted to verify service on the property.
I fired them last fall. Called this spring 2021, I laughed and told them to stay off my property. They did it anyway and billed me . Rotten company, sta. Next time you come on my property True Green Im calling the law.y away. You come on my property true green Im calling the sheriff
So Im normally a very level minded individual. Certainly things and life happen. However, today I had an interview scheduled. I arrived fifteen minutes early. Followed all signage and signed in. Then proceeded to wait. I rang the bell at the desk. I even walked around looking for someone but to no avail. I did hear voices behind doors, so I waited and rang bell again. But was never acknowledged nor addressed . I waited 25 minutes and sadly left.I am old school. Arrive on time, be courteous, etc.. But what about the company doing the interviewing? Are they not held accountable for certain etiquette?I would have waited but had I done so, I would have been late for my next interview. I waited 25 minutes.I just thought I should let someone know and express my disappointment. I would have made a great sales rep too, as I have prior Tru Green experience.
As far as the tech, he performed his job as he should. He was very courteous. As far as the Aeriation and seeding i was not happy. Large chunks of ground were tore up and ground needed to be detached and dead grass removed before seeding. You cannot put seed on dead grass and expect it to grow. There was only 3 lbs of grass seed put on our front yard and that was ridiculous. I went to Lowes and put another 10lb on myself. Raked and aerated yard myself so i could possibly see some results this year.Have one more paid application by Trugreen and that will be my last.RespectfullyUNHAPPY CLIENT
Every time I mow the lawn, I cant help but noticed how thick and green my lawn is. I follow their recommendation on keeping the blade sharp and not cut too short. Some bars spots and problem areas are recovering nicely. I am very happy with the results TruGreen says it all, my lawn is truly green.
Your representative always comes to the door before beginning any application, inquires how I am doing and explains what procedure he is about to do, then asks if I have any questions; he is very polite, friendly and professional in presenting himself. He always arrives according to the schedule provided to me on the internet and offers important suggestions to further improve my lawns appearance whenever it becomes necessary. I am totally pleased with the appearance of my lawn and shrubbery. The grass is greener, thicker and more lush; my shrubs are healthier and greener also, much more so than before I retained TruGreen as my lawn care specialist team. I am very pleased to have retained TruGreen and have told a number of my friends about my positive experiences I have experienced with TruGreen.
2 ys. ago we had Team Green do our lawn, a big mistake, our front yard was completely destroyed by grubs. Thankfully they went out of business and Tru Green came to our rescue. we are so pleased now,our grass is beautiful and the company that mows our lawn says we have the healthiest and nicest grass in our subdivision.
Youre better off finding a truly local company to treat your yard. With TruGreen its hard to get a hold of a local person. They come once a month whether it needs it or not. Theyll say its a customized plan for your yard but its not. Just about killed several of my bushes and some of my grass by overspraying fertilizer. Then when you try to get a hold of someone local to talk to, you get the run around. I wanted to plant some grass seed one spring and called to tell them not to spray pre-emergent yet but they didnt get the message and sprayed it anyway. Ive found a local company that just comes 4-5 times and is cheaper overall since they dont come 7-8 times a year.
In general my lawn is starting to look satisfactory since we had a grub problem early in spring and did not realize until late spring as the moles were having a feast. Had pest control several weeks ago and looking better now. Next year in late February or early March will call for grub control.
These past few months getting TRUGREEN to help me, I notice my lawn specialists all care about doing a great job. I still call in and communicate about any of my questions. We have built a good communication over time and I am glad for this extra help. I dont want to do it all alone.
Horrible horrible experience thus far. Signed up for a package for the overwhelming amount of dandelions in our yard. First off, the guy that sold us the package totally lied about what it included. Then when we tried to rectify the situation the customer service was beyond terrible. You call a local number but the call center is in Atlanta Georgia. Next you are on hold a minimum of 15 to 20 minutes every time you call. Then the personthat you get a hold of cant do anything to help you except file a complaint. The complaint doesnt get filed or a return of service for at least 48 business hours according to them. However it was way longer than that that my call was returned and they called during working hours when I could not reach my phone. They did leave a return number but it was a local number and back to the national call center. This was a vicious cycle and I wasted several hours of my life talking on the phone between waiting 20 minutes and talking to someone 30-40 minutes to try and get my situation fixed. When the local sales manager finally did call me back he told me that he would fix the situation and include the service that was promised to us. However several weeks went by and I never heard from the guy. He gave me his personal cell phone which I call at least 13× In 3 weeks. And he never returned one single phone call or schedule our service. And to make matters worse our yard still has an overwhelming amount of weeds and dandelions. Then when I tried to call and report this to the national service all they could do was tell me that they would file a complaint and have the manager contact me in another 48 business hours. The times that people came to our house for service they were only there for one minute or less than a minute in the yard that is almost an acre. The manager still has not called me back still has not fulfilled his obligation that he said he would fix and theres nothing that the national service will do to help me. All they will do is say I didnt sign up for the original service but they will try and sell it to me again. I will not pay any extra amount of money for a service that they told me was included in the package that I bought. If there were a way to give zero stars for this I would. This is a horrible customer service and quality experience. Save your money you could probably do it yourself more effectively. I have never been lied to by people in customer service and management like this before. Im thoroughly disappointed in the service this company provides.
My lawn was treated for dandelions and weeds by Trugreen. The dandelions were my main concern. The treatment killed most of them but not all. So I called Trugreen and told the rep. that I still had numerous dandelions. He was very helpful. He said, a free reservice to kill them A serviceman arrived at my home the next day. Very courteous. I watched him in the yard as he very miticuously sprayed all of the weeds. That was about two weeks ago. I know that dandelions are tough to kill. Most of them are dead, but not all. very good effort though.I may give them another call. Serviceman Blair Caldwell Great service. Very satisfied so far. ED
Signed up w/Tru Green a few years ago & cancelled after 2nd service, as I still had weeds after the applications....even w/one additional re-application. This season (2015) they talked me into trying the service again. Had to redo first app. as the edges of grass were not sprayed, so I had a border of weeds. Additional apps most often seemed to be applied only to have it rain w/i less than an hour. Thus, the apps were useless. My suggestion to them would be two fold. 1. Have technicians spend a few more minutes to cover the grass accurately. 2. Dont come out when you know that there is a huge chance of rain in a short period of time. My yard WAS gorgeous when I DID THE LAWN MAINTENANCE (for 20% of what Tru Green charges. Besides still having to do the weeding this year, I now have to re-seed where the lawn was over fertilized and burnt. I WOULD NEVER USE TRU GREEN AGAIN when it is so much cheaper/effective to treat the yard myself. It only takes 3 apps. + grub worm treatment, and takes little time to spread.
Finally I have grass. Every person I encountered at TruGreen was professional and followed through. I actually got SERVICE without bad attitude. Patient Tech, Tim, answered and addressed all my questions and concerns. Above and beyond what I expected. Recommend strongly!
I prepaid, i saw them do the house across the street but none of us in my family saw them do our yard, not even in the backyard which we all would have seen. No plastic flag in my yard but paperwork saying they did my yard. I called the 800 to complain, never heard back from them.. then 7 days later they show up and do spot kill of dandylions, but not a whole yard application..i am cancelling them
I thought this was going to be a good experience but NO. They dont tell you when they are going to do grub treatment they just do it and charge you for it. Called customer service they said someone would call back never did. I have big dead spots in my grass because they spread to much treatment in some areas. Lesson learned.
Horrible Horrible . I had True Green for several years . I found out by watching the technician absolutely do nothing but stick a sign in my yard put a bill in my door and leave . Please dont use True Green . They are dishonest , I cant imagine how many people are paying this business and not getting service . The very next day Leisure Lawn called me , I have figured they are the same company different names .
I have been with TruGreen for more than 5 year, they always over promise under commit on services, every year they blame there under performance on watering, heat and unexpected conditions, we I was applying the chemicals my lawn was nearly perfect EVERY YEAR, since then TRUEGREEN have a lackluster attitude on the treatment especially Grub Control I do not think they even apply ANY treatments, so this year the Grubs have done so much damage I will need to take over the treatments and reseed.I AM DONE WITH TRUEGREEN... MY ADVICE IS BEWARE.

2022-06-02I would never trust this company not even to teach my gold fish how to swim. Its impossible to get a manger on the phone. I prepaid a service that a saws man sold me to get a sale. He changed some stuff on my yard size to make a sale. Then everytime they come out they say my yard is to big need a ride on applicator. But they never bring one. I been waiting to get a refund for or talk to someone about doing a refund. I’m forced to dispute the payment. Not to mention some guys were saying they sprayed my yard but I have themPulling upSitting then leaving on my door bell camera. Save yourself go with a company that will stand behind there name or at least have someone to defend it.

2022-04-11They spray prior to 3-5 days of heavy rain. (this has occurred several times over the years. They tell you its OK to do. The lawn tells us otherwise.)They fail to diagnose EVERYTHING (mole crickets, moss, sub turf pests of all kinds). You have to tell them whats wrong with your lawn in order for them to apply the correct products. I only know whats wrong because my neighbor is a turf guru.THEY CHARGE EXTRA FOR THOSE PRODUCTS - $70-$90 PER APPLICATION - OVER AND ABOVE THE $300+ PACKAGE.When you call the Dayton numbers, youll get an offshore CSR lacking the ability to answer direct questions, pre-fab answers to very specific questions, long pauses, etc.

2022-04-13Trugreen is highly unprofessional both during a contract and when trying to sign you up for one after canceling. They left our gate wide open allowing my dogs to run away after treating out back yard. I canceled service last year and this is the call I got today.Hi this is --- from trugreen how are you today?Im good but Im going to end this call because we were very dissatisfied with you guys when we had you .Well you only had us for a year and progress takes time.Sir it had nothing to do with that. All right whatever *hangs up on me*

2022-04-15We have a tick problem and I wanted to get it taken care of so I could start my garden and have guest over for Easter.Called on Mar 19th and set up my first appointment for 50% off. I was told I would get an email and a phone call.Mar 25h I still hadnt received either and when I called I was told on the 4th I would get the email with my schedule date.Things happened and I noticed on the 12th I never received anything. At first they claimed I canceled my appointment. I had not, and they never returned my payment. So they opted to schedule for the 15th.Which is today. I called and asked what time they would be here and why I never received a phone call or text to let me know. The operator said they would give me a notice 10 minutes out and anywhere between 12-5pm. I asked for more of a heads up and she put a reminder in my file to call me an hour out.At 514 pm I never got a phone call so I called back. They had canceled my service without letting me know or rescheduling. So now we are out till the Monday after easter.

2021-07-25Since I have been using TruGreen fertilization service this year, my backyard has turned yellow and brown. It has been a slow and very difficult to interact with TruGreen on this matter. Every number listed for TruGreen goes to the same national call service. I can’t reach a local person. A well-meaning representative answers the phone but it’s typically some person somewhere around the country nowhere near me. I can leave my name and number and I’m told that someone will contact me in 24 to 48 hours. It generally doesn’t happen. I’ve been calling them repeatedly with very little response. Very, very frustrating process. I’ve been doing this for weeks. Finally someone from TruGreen came and looked at my lawn and they said I haven’t been watering it enough. That’s not true. I water my lawn 4.5 hours a day three days a week. My next-door neighbor, who doesn’t have an irrigation system, has a nice looking green lawn. But I was unable to talk with TruGreen about this as there was no follow up after the visit and no one would call me back. Eventually, a second person from TruGreen came out and looked at my lawn and said that it was suffering from chemical burn. The only entity that has put chemicals on my lawn this year has been Trugreen. So if there is a chemical burn it’s due to them. However I can’t talk to anybody from TruGreen because, once again, I’m not getting any calls back. Very frustrating process. And this is not an inexpensive service. We’re paying roughly $1000 a year for lawn fertilization as well as tree and shrub care. I used TruGreen years ago and was very pleased with their service and the results. That is not true now.

2021-07-26We used TruGreen for 6 years. The first 5 where great but the last year weve seen a sharp decrease in the quality of our yard and services performed. From not spraying the entire yard to the other extreme of spraying flower beds and killing bushes. When you try to contact them, its a 2 hours wait time. They never ever ever show up on time. The final straw was getting billed for a treatment they never performed.

2021-05-04My wife received a voicemail from TruGreen stating they would be servicing our lawn. We never contacted or asked TruGreen to service our yard at any point. She attempted to call TruGreen, but there was a 2 hour hold time. She left her number for a call back and never received a call back. This was on a Friday afternoon. Come Monday morning of the following week the TruGreen truck showed up and was going to attempt to treat our yard. Luckily, my wife caught him before he started and advised him we didnt want service. She watched him check a box stating we did not receive service. Then a week later we received a bill for $80 for service we never received. We attempted to call again and there was a 3 hour hold time. If she had not stopped him from servicing our yard they would have burned our yard up because it had already been treated. This company needs to stop buying up all of the great lawn service companies that have way better customer service and significantly better ethics.

2021-08-15I have notified the office and customer service on 5 different occasions regarding a large payment that continues to process on my bank card. I spoke with Jennifer in billing, hoping this would be resolved who was clueless and did nothing because 3 days later the payment went through yet again. The service they provided was mediocre at best. They were constantly forgetting to treat parts of the yard and there has never been a time in 2 years of using their service that my yard was weed free. I closed out the bank account that I have had for years because I am so sick of paying for the incompetence that is Trugreen. I regret any business dealings I have had with this company.

2018-06-21Just started this year, every service so far has been in the rain. I have been offered free service to cover them wasting time in the rain. I asked to be refunded and they are refusing even though I have spent hours at work on the phone trying to get things straightened out, and have yet to have a good application. I was promised text alerts at the beginning which is a service that currently is not working. Now I have to go through the charge back procedure with my credit card company because Trugreen Springboro is not providing the services I agreed to paid for. I do have call records saying we will not treat in the rain

2021-05-25I had a scheduled appointment for 5/24/2021. The service technician pulled up to my house. (he did not see my wife and myself on the front porch) the service technician then pulled past my residence to which I thought he actually passed my home. I assumed he was going around the block to return to my address. To my surprise seconds later I received a text message stating “service technician was unable to provide services due to roadway being blocked” . This was very upsetting since he was just in front of my house 30 seconds before that. I immediately attempted to contact TruGreen but was unable to reach anyone due to the call always being received by the national directory. After 3 hours on the phone I was told a not was in my profile and the local manager would contact me ASAP. On 5/25/2021 I was left a message by the local manager claiming my issue had been resolved… I never spoke with this individual and she didn’t leave a call back number. TruGreen has the worst customer service I have ever seen. It is in no way customer friendly and you are constantly being put on hold with zero answers. I have had nothing but issues with TruGreen since I started my yard service. I simply would like to speak with my local store and have my issue delt with. It is unsatisfactory that your company would hire technicians who lie to get out of doing their job.I have video footage of the driver neglecting to do their job along with TruGreen confirming the service technicians GPS showing he was able to reach my residence. If I do not get answers I will be taking my busines elsewhere.
