TruGreen is what it is at this point. I just started a service contract with them so my yard has only been serviced once... But they sure did kill all the weeds in the grass. However, I hope the next time the come out, they actually take the time to understand my problem areas instead of just popping in unannounced and just leaving right back out. Covid protocol or not, they are providing a customer service that I am paying for so I would like to be able to feel that I am getting what I am paying for at the moment.
I don’t know what’s worse, that they killed half my lawn or that they wouldn’t respond afterward. I paid for a year of service up front. Andrew was very nice in the beginning, but after losing half my backyard a few weeks after the August treatment, he won’t call me back. The 800 customer service number doesn’t get me anywhere. The lady actually said “I cannot provide you with a contact to your local branch because I am not in your country.” Just cringeworthy. So anyway, I overpaid for TruGreen thinking they would be the most reliable with how big they are. That was a mistake. Still to the day have not been responded to.
This company is an administrative nightmare. I paid cash up front for my front and backyard to be serviced. On the fourth service, the technician took 3 minutes and only did my front yard. When I called to ask why and complain, they never offered a refund and said it was a typo on their part and had only been servicing the front yard the whole time despite me paying for the back as well. It has now taken 2 weeks and 10 phone calls to try and get a refund because you can’t call and speak with a manager directly. You have to call, leave a message with a remote worker, and a manager will call you back in 2 business days. I then had to explain my story to 2 different managers. Still don’t have a refund because the last manager told me the branch had to call me to give an exact refund amount and that would take 3-5 business days.Needless to say I’ve canceled my service and going local to build a relationship and pay a little more for quality and customer service.
I paid for weed and lawn care and they promised to get rid of weeds. My yard looks like absolute garbage after 5 applications and they do not answer the phone. They DO however text me incessantly to try to upsell me other services. Dont bother. DIY or use a local company.
Wednesday October 7th 2020 my wife was home when they arrived to treat our grass. They did not even enter my back yard to complete their service.Makes me think how many times this was not completed when we were not home.They put the receipt in my mail box saying they completed their service and today they took the money out of my account. So we paid for a service we never received.Called and talked to a lady that could not put me in touch with a manager or supervisor. She said that I would get a re-treatment for free. So nice of them right? It is know Friday and never received and explanation from them that I asked for.I will be calling this morning and cancel them.Never will use these guys again.
I started with true green this past spring. The very first time the came they over sprayed plants in my yard. It took about a week of calls and emails to get any response from the Hilliard store. They sent the manager of the yard techs out and he agreed that they did over spray. He told me the tech definitely did not do the job right. He advised me to make sure I water everything well and he would check back in a week and if plants needed replaced that true green would make it right.i was told they would retreat at no charge also. We discussed one area I did not want sprayed because I let my dogs in that area . He told me he would put very specific notes in on my plan and make sure things were done right. The very next time they cam out they still sprayed where I had asked not to treat. I still had not heard anything on my plants that were still wilting even though I had been watering trying to keep them going. I called and with my complaint once again and it fell on deaf ears. Sense then then I have made several calls and have asked to close my account. I keep getting a bill and i have expressed i will not pay for work and repairs that were never done. True green has shown me they are about the money they can make verses how they can help me with my yard. I will not recommend this company especially if its the Hilliard branch. They are not honest and they do not fix their mistakes. I have spent more of my own time and money to fix their screw up than I would of just doing the job myself.
I received services for my lawn last year with no complaints. When I got a call for this year, I declined services asking them to cancel further treatments. However, one day I returned home from work and found they treated my lawn anyway. When billing called to collect, I told them I requested they cancel all future services. The woman tried to negotiate with me paying part of the bill which I declined.If that was the end of it, then I wouldnt be writing this review; however, weeks later upon returning home from work, I found they had treated my lawn once again!!! And, days later billing called trying to collect. I told them I wasnt paying them anything and to cancel any further services, and to send me a confirmation that it was cancelled. I also told them to not call me again for collection or further service.Ive been contacted 4 additional times since this to try to sale me services! No matter what I do or say, I cant get these people to stop calling me or servicing my lawn.Sidenote: It is IMPOSSIBLE to speak to a supervisor. They tell you someone will call you back; however, the call never comes.Im flabbergasted!
They recently aerated and overseeded my lawn. Later on that day when I went to water the lawn, I noticed a few spots with no aeration holes and I also noticed a lack of seed throughout the yard. I called and complained, so they sent the guy back out a few days later. When he came by, I was busy working, so I was unable to go to the door to talk to him. He walked around my yard and left. He left a voice-mail that said he didnt see that he missed any spots. The guy needs glasses. I didnt bother to call back because whats the point? He came back and thinks he did a good job, so I decided to save myself an arguement. My lawn doesnt really look like I did anything to it, despite putting on fertilizer, having optimal soil ph, and watering every single day for several weeks. There are only a very few spots that have growth. The bottom line...save yourself the hassle and do it yourself.
Tried to call for a free quote, they gave us a quote over the phone and immediately transitioned into high pressure sales tactics.When they were told we would discuss it and get back to them they started calling us every 30 minutes until we explicitly told them not to call us back.I’d rather have a dead and ugly lawn than deal with this company.
I was with True Green for about nine years and decided to go with another company because I didn’t want to pay for what they were asking. After 3 months with that other company, whose price was more than half of what I paid True Green, I was ready to go back. Believe me I never had any complaints with True Green and my yard always looked very nice and weed free. You definitely get what you pay for in this case. So I am back with True Green and the weeds I’ve had since March are gone after their first application. Lesson learned.
I signed up last Friday. The manager guaranteed they would be out at the beginning of the next week to spray for mosquitos.It is now Friday night, the following week, and they have yet to show for the mosquito spray.I also signed up for their lawn package that included a post-emergent, a grub spray, and fertilizer.They showed up, today, spread a genrtic12-12-12 fertilizer, haphazardly, hit the sidewalk with a spray that has yet to do anything (roundup would have had it wilt in an hour) and took off. No grub control, and no attempt to get weeds out of the lawn.I contacted the manager again, he admitted they had not done the work they were supposed to do. However, despite my repeated attempts to contact him, no response at the end of the day.I contacted [email protected] about my concerns about the tardiness of the mosquito spraying last Wednesday and it took customercare@trugreen 48 hours to reply. They just said, “our records show your lawn was treated on this day.” Totally missed my concern.Also, customercare@trugreen took 48 hours to respond. They may say it’s due to Covid, but wen I called to sign up, it took them literally 15mins to call me back. Draw your own conclusions.
Called early this morning to see if they service my area and to get a quote on mowing services (or someone out to give a quote) and somehow was mansplained on how to use google search to find lawn mowing services near me… I replied “um thanks?” And got put on hold so then I hung up lmfao… still confused as to how that happened and like what?? Anyways, I appreciate the helpful advice to search again elsewhere (I can only assume that’s what was intended with my small, bird like female brain) as I found a lovely company that came out, gave a quote and took care of my yard in just a couple hours. Thank you for the odd sprinkle of misogyny and advice to look for better service elsewhere in the morning. xD
Disappointed with TruGreen as they tried to ration off products, which is not the techs fault as he was only being told what to do and how to do it. If I had not been home I never would have known that my yard was not fully treated. I cannot trust a company that is willing to deceive customers. When I called to complain they sent the tech back out the next day, but again the trust was lost at this point and I cancelled service.
I have been a TruGreen customer going on 3 years. The difference between taking a do-it-yourself approach to tending to my landscape and having TruGreen augment my efforts has made a significant difference in the health and appearance of my yard and trees/shrubs. The TruGreen specialists that service my landscape have, without exception, impressed me with their knowledge, attention to details, suggestions and overall professionalism on every visit. I am convinced that by contracting with TruGreen I have saved time and money over doing it myself via trial and error to maintain my landscape. I strongly encourage anyone who truly cares about their landscape to contact TruGreen for a landscape inspection and consultation.
Customer service is on top of the game...I am pleased so far with our new subscription, as Tru Green is trying to get our yard back into shape from a construction project. They are responsive to our needs and have gone far above their duties to provide services.Many thanks for coming to our rescue.
They need the owner, ceo,co-ceo to step up and fix many things. Management, csrs, human resources and regional managers need additional training, including sales. Everyone is chicken to be the first to call customer when theres huge problem going on. They think the customer will forget about it! I dont let anything of this nature get swept under rugs. When TRUGREENS EMPLOYEE STEALS CUSTOMERS INFORMATION, SOMETHING ELSE NEEDS DONE BESIDE OF FIRING THE PERSON. ITS MY IDENTITY AN HOW DOES THAT FIX IT? IT DONT BECAUSE HE STILL HAS INFORMATION. WHERE IS THE CEO, HES THE ONE NEEDS CALL ME!!
For 30 years I have had TruGreen Chemlawn. Instead of getting better and better my yard got worse and worse. Weeds all the time. Add managers come out look at the problem promise me that the next year it would be better. Never was. Would not go at this company ever again
Just set up service with a lady. Then a man from trugreen called guess he didnt realize I had already set up a service. Then when he finally realized he just hung up.....Edit: after 2 months of service with them I canceled.. they kept spraying my garden and killed all the vegetablesI contacted them 3 times about it and every time they would say it wont happen again. Just horrible service.
We started TruGreen mosquito defense at the end of July when the mosquitoes started getting really bad. Each time they spray, the bugs are gone for maybe 2 or 3 days and then they come back. They will come out for free between services if you see a mosquito, but it takes them a week to get out. It was expensive and completely ineffective, I would recommend avoiding this service.
We had TruGreen a few years ago. Lawn looked ok, the problem was we have 3 German Shepherds and one time our gate was left open, our dogs got out and were running the neighborhood. I called and asked, please make sure the gate is closed when you leave. They apologized and said it would not happen again, well the next time they came a few month later same thing happened gate was wide open. So I cancelled my service. They have called yearly since then and this spring have called me 3 times even though I have explained what happened and why I cancelled. I even asked all 3 times to be taken off their list with no prevail. Just last week a manager stopped by to talk about getting us signed up for lawn treatment. Please Trugreen get your act together, I no longer want your service,
My yard is green that is a good thing considering the heat and lack of rain this season. My yard basically is a wreck due to a lot of construction this year. Not done yet one more landscaping project to go. I have never this summer spoken to a Trugreen representative other than by phone so I cannot say anything about that. I have spoken to many overseers over the phone this year though, and for the most part that was productive for me. My plan is to renovate my lawn starting once all the construction and destructive procedures are complete. So maybe next year. But I am pretty pleased with Trugreen and welcome their help and advice in the future.
TruGreen... More like True BROWN. We just got new sod and had been going back and forth on if we should get their service to help support our newly placed sod. We had just got our lawn looking amazing, with a water bill over $700 to establish our new sod. We went ahead and called TruGreen for their New Sod Program. After just one treatment, we have huge brown spots in multiple spots in our yard. I will never recommend this to any of my friends, family, enemies, or Satan.
Very knowledgeable and professional. Staff, Specialists and Office Personnel, are very friendly and concerned about my needs. Dustin Francis serviced my Shrubs and Trees on 03/06/17 and he was very thorough with the treatment as well as he was friendly and willing to address any questions I may have.
We have lawn and tree & scrub service with Trugreen. Due to the cost, I had switched to another lawn service instead of Trugreen for the 2014 season and my lawn looked horrible. My husband insisted on us switching back to Trugreen for 2015. The lawn look so much better (even though the frequent rain also helped). Our scrubs were dying and the treatments seem to help them somewhat but they did not come all the way back. I like the friendliness and professionalism of the specialist. However, being retired and on a fixed income, your prices are outside of my budget.
Dustin was friendly, he answered all my questions and updated me on what he thought I needed for my yard. He even wrote it all down so that I would remember. He played along when my 4 year old when he wanted him to race him. It was nice to see someone who did more than just show up to do what they are paid to do and leave. We hope to see Dustin again in our future true green services.
I was quoted 183.00. Billed 514.00. Be very careful with the misleading sales tactics. Even after showing them their own quote side by side with their bill, nothing was done but them telling me that’s what it is. Hopefully my credit card company will accept the charge back. For the record I live in Columbus Ohio and my misleading rep is named Alva. Stay away!!!
Lawn service was poor. After I canceled this service I received 3 phone calls trying to pressure me into keeping the service. It took 2 emails, 5 phone calls to cancel this service. And I am still not sure that I wont have to contact them again. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE.
Bad customer service and I wasnt even a customer 😂😂😂😂😂.... I was actually offered a job to become a lawn specialist (just a fancy title for lawnmower technician) lol another fancy word for what they do.... Do not work here and honestly youll save yaself a lot more money buying a lawnmower.... IJS...

2022-08-02Horrible service. The worst Ive ever had. I canceled my service last year because they never came when they said they would or never showed up at all. They never came back to correct the issues or call me. Now they have started charging my account again after almost a year after I canceled. Called TruGreen and lady one other end had a kid screaming in my ear trying to up sale me on their services. Called again and lady apologized saying their was no activity on my account since I canceled. She then put me on hold and never picked back up. Still trying to get my money back. Beware of this company!

2022-03-11After two years of service my yard was infested with moss and mushrooms (front and back). Of course they only treat for weeds and fertilized the grass. Ok. I get it. So I cancelled my service entirely which they told me they did. This week, they came out and sprayed again and then charged me again. Now online showing 6 more treatments to go. Unacceptable customer service and down right thieves. DO NOT USE this service. You are better off anywhere else. If you need some mushrooms for dinner, let me know.

2022-06-17Horrible customer service. Charged our account without notification.I am not typically one to complain and leave bad reviews, but Im so disappointed with our service I just have to. The only reason I even gave 2 stars is because there actually were services provided. Im trying to be fair here. So heres the deal....Originally we paid for a year of lawn service up front including seeding, weed control, tree & shrub maintenance and mosquito control - and we were gaurenteed no weeds. They claim they will come out between visits for problem areas - that NEVER happened even after we expressed concern. We had our lawn seeded and the gentleman who did the service literally torn our yard up with the tires of his machine. We complained about that but we never even got a response until literally MONTHS later (like 3-4 month later). The woman at the Groveport office that we dealt with originally had NO ISSUE calling, texting and answering our calls/texts when she wanted to get an account with us and collect money, but for all other purposes we got no where with her. It was a joke. Customer service is just horrible.We were told we would be notified when our contract was up and that NEVER happened either. Instead they came out for a visit that we assumed was apart of our 1 year contract considering it was 9 1/2 months in, but the next day had a $100 charge to our account. It felt very scammy them charging our account without notification. Once I called, they said we were outside our contract and that they use a calendar year as a guide?! What does that even mean? Last time I checked there are TWELVE MONTHS in a calendar year. Anyway, I cancelled the service, which they did not care one bit about - oh well, no big deal. But 5 days later we recieved a notification that they will be out Monday to do another treatment. They were going to continue coming, and continue charging us. Needless to say, I called once again and cancelled. Honestly, our lawn doesnt look much differnt than when we started, but we may have given it more time and continued with the service if theyre customer service wasnt so horrible.I honestly do feel like its pretty expensive for the services you get as well. Just all in all it was not a good experience. We will never use TruGreen again or recommend to anyone.

2022-06-02TrueGreen are thiefs. The same guy has came out twice and didnt do the work. He just placed the sign in our yard. This is the 2nd time this has happened. We have a fairly big lawn and he was there and gone in less than one minute. True green forgets people have cameras now these days. We want a full refund and will never do business again. My neighbor got rid of them also because they did the same type of thing.

2020-07-02My lawn was treated by mistake! We had no idea this happened so my kids and my dogs were exposed to the chemicals before they had a chance to dry. The chemicals were sprayed all over my recently refinished patio furniture, lounge chairs, mailbox, and pool. I contacted the company and they apologized and said not to worry about the chemicals the kids and dogs would be fine, but yet they post “do not allow pets or people on the treated area for 24 hours! I get that “mistakes” happen, but for a company that has been in business this long and when it comes to chemicals and human interaction, this is beyond unacceptable!!

2021-08-30I paid for 2 services this month and the technician was never seen performing the work. The ticket was left in the mail box, no yard marker and my Ring Doorbell camera shows no activity in my yard the day the service was supposedly done. Ive complained and received no response. Ive constantly had problems with the technician performing this work and have had to ask for repeat service multiple times. While I appreciate the extra service, Im fed up with the lack of quality and all the problems with this company and will be cancelling my account. Current wait time is 1 hour (for an existing customer). Another example of poor customer service. I do not recommend this company.

2022-04-28Come to spray the neighbors yard and mine gets sprayed on accident. Great day for pets to be outside and I cant because they found a way to spray over a 6 foot fence.

2020-10-23It takes a lot for me to leave a review. Typically, I am the type of person to just write off a bad experience and move on by just not giving my business again. TruGreen has been a ride though. We signed up for weed treatment and prevention, just the basics. For starters, they would call and give a 24 hour heads up that they were coming. Not working from home, I would adjust my schedule for the following day to come home and let our dog in the house so the yard could be treated. They rarely kept to the schedule and on multiple occasions didn’t show up at all. One time claiming they couldn’t find the house after they had treated a few weeks prior. There was very little progress on the weed issues in our yard, if any at all. The final straw came when they provided an aeration and overseeding service for $219 + tax that was not agreed upon when we first talked about the services we were wanting. That money was promptly withdrawn from our account. Our initial hesitation with starting up service keeping the cost down. We turned down every additional service they offered, from mosquito treatments to tree infestation prevention. We will now be looking for a local service that values its customers needs and wants.
