Positive: Great location, comfortable bed, hot water, friendly staff. Negative: VERY outdated, peeling paint, holes in the walls, dirty carpet, hair in the shower drain. Had to get disinfecting wipes and spray from my car. If you are looking for cheap and dont care about clean then this place is for you.
People were nice at the desk! I checked out the hotel in person and this location DOES NOT have a any kind of a POOL or outdoor pool like the one pictured on your website. Wanted to let everyone know since there is a picture on the website of one. This is false advertising. The picture of the pool should come down.
I originally booked with these guys and immediately I walked in and got a bad vibe. I walk up to the desk and I waited 5 minutes to even be talked to when the desk clerk was right there! I then noticed the clerk rolled his eyes like I was an inconvenience. After I witnessed that I walked out and I told him I will be writing a review about this encounter. I then booked a room with the Marriott and was treated like a King. Yea, I am disgusted with this establishment and would not recommend to anyone. That’s my review on Travellodge. No Bueno!
I don’t even know where to start. First of all, if I could I would rate it a -5 stars. When we walked into the room, none of the lights worked and there were spare light bulbs that maintenance couldn’t even install. The dust in the window sill was about a quarter inch thick. The floor, chair, and bed had some sort of disgusting stains from some sort of bodily fluid. The bed even had some lovely pubic hairs in it as well. Parking lot is very sketchy even in the middle of day light. I wouldn’t recommend this dump to anyone!
Orderly useless receptionist!Last minute family coming in town, tried calling four times keeps on ringing. Decided to go there(2min walk) to see the receptionist playing with her phone. Standing in the lobby calling the phone number and her just not acknowledging it!!!!
Arrived for Check In a few minutes after 3:00, and I was behind 3 others checking in. The person being helped had problems finding their multiple reservations that went on and on. At 4:00 no one else had been helped. I finally was helped around 4:20. On the way to our room saw gauges in walls and very dirty floors, and entered our room to find that it had no nightstand (the lamp was on the floor between the beds), there was no shower curtain, and only 1 towel. Talked to front desk to correct the problem while we were out for the evening, but came back hours later and nothing had been corrected. If there would have been another option nearby we would have left. First room key worked one time then stopped working. I went to the front desk again to tell what was needed. Finally around 11:00 someone came to put up a shower curtain and gave us one additional shower towel. The outside maintenance and the hallways/rooms were dirty and uninviting. I would not go back here again.
Even the outside is surrounded by heaps of litter and garbage. The whole neighborhood around it is clean and tidy, and then theres this craphole surrounded by trash. Its in dire need of a face lift (read: gas can and matches). Id rather live in in between a dump and a sewage treatment plant than anywhere near this place.
They booked me in a dirty room. The poor girl at the desk told me she could give me clean blankets but she was the only one there. It would be a while before she could clean it. Then called a few hotels and her boss, told me she could offer me a room with a broken bath tub. The water didn’t drain. She told me I could have my money fully reimbursed and she was sorry. She couldn’t refund, the manager in the morning could. Needless to say we are going on 5 days with no response but that they have to talk to her. She printed me and her manager a full form and wrote on it. I also called in and asked if their rooms were handicap accessible, they told me they all were. Needless to say the one we were given was upstairs, no elevator. We would have still taken it if it was not disgusting. Bed had blood stains all over blanket. The other bed wasn’t even all the way made. Sticky liquid all over the top of microwave, peeling paint everywhere, coloring on all the walls, bathtub and toilet weren’t cleaned either. I took pictures. The girl tried to cancel but sent it through. We are currently out over 500. They seem to think they aren’t reliable for reimbursement. Save yourself time and money. The owner needs to be notified and this manager fired! I’ll change my review when I reach owner or the manager returns my calls. The employees seem to be running your hotel down. The poor girl at the front desk was very polite and just as disgusted when she looked at the pictures. This is also Corona protocols?! Doubt the pictures would follow guidelines! I went up for 2 minutes. I couldn’t even believe it.
Horrible business. We arrived and none of our keycards worked, when an employee finally let us into our room, it was a regular room even though we booked a suite. We talked to the guy at the front desk and he said they only have one sweet and 5 different people have booked it. Even though I booked it months ago, I couldn’t get the room. I asked for a refund because they couldn’t accommodate our amount of guests, and they said they could only give us 25% back. So since they didn’t have my room and nobody told me, I lose all of my money? Ridiculous. Don’t come here.
They authorized $50 on my credit card on check in. I was told the charge would fall off. Instead of falling off the charge was finalized. After trying to reach the hotel several times by phone, I finally got an answer. She acted as if I was bothering and informed me I should be patient. It could take them up to 7 days to decide to issue a refund. Thankfully my credit card company was more obliging and handled the overcharge. I wont go into the condition of the room or the property. I didnt have high expectations, but I didnt expect to be overcharged.
Positive: We were coming to Cleveland for the weekend, but didnt want to pay the pricetag for an expensive place to stay when we would only be at the hotel to sleep. This hotel was a close uber ride from Downtown area. Negative: 1.) completely unorganized check in process 2.) hotel room was not very cozy and the layout made no sense 3.) extremely dusty 4.) dirty towels 5.) overall, didnt appear to be clean at all 6.) extremely thin walls, was easily woken up at night
Pros: The shower pressure was great compared to most hotels. Wide variety of TV channels including the Big10 network.Cons: Where do I begin? Upon arrival, the lobby entry was dirty and smelled of marijuana. Had to pass a bucket that smelled like urine. Front Desk associate was more concerned about the video chat he was having when I checked in. Never asked me for my ID and credit card. Asked me what room I was assigned to. Didnt seem to comprehend that I was checking in. Never told me check out time. Didnt tell me if there was breakfast (there wasnt). Didnt tell me if wi-fi was available (I think there was but a password was required.) The next day I told him I did not need stayover service. He didnt understand me and thought I was checking out. Finally got it through to him that I was staying another night but did not require housekeeping in my room. The room was clean in some places, but was in severe need of updating and attention. Holes in the dirty carpet, dirty disgusting chair, fridge and microwave were in the corner of the room because there werent outlets in the dresser built to accommodate them. The luggage rack had a broken strap. Lightbulbs were missing from the lamps. A light switch was missing by the entry. The battery pack for the key card was held in place by electrical tape. There was only a sheet and a duvet on the bed. There were tears and cigarette burns in the duvet. There was a hole in the shower curtain. The drain in the tub looked like it hadnt been cleaned ever. The shower head was not sealed properly, and neither was the toilet. It leaked out the side. The toilet continued to run well after it should have. There wasnt a bath mat, so I used a hand towel. It was stained and one of my bath towels was dirty.
Positive: they had Pepsi in the vending machine. Negative: Check in took 15 mins. Room had no nightside or desk.Hole in the walls. Not a working TV. No fridge or ice bucket. dry wall in hallway. Fridge in hallway. walls may have never been clean.Bathroom awful. Smelled like weed.I want my money back!DONT BOOK!!!
This place is horrible, had to pay 280 for one night, and the room was Sick, white powder under lamp, no light bulbs, dirty blankets, wrinkly with cigarette burns, and stains, carpet looked like it hasn’t been cleaned in years, just dirty everywhere, there was hours at a time we couldn’t find anyone working. Trash outside the front, dirty mask and empty beer cans in the lobby, shower floor had dirty feet prints. There was a leak in front of our door had to walk through a puddle to even get in the room. Got a peak in their laundry room stack and stacks of dirty blankets thrown everywhere. Have pictures and videos of it all…. Shut this place down !!!!!!
First of all, the customer service was great, a sketchy dude sat in the parking lot all night and we woke up with our trailer broke into. We had to ask for extra towels/toilet paper, door was already open when we got our key, most of the lights were broken. Overall it was okay, just be cautious of your vehicle and belongings.
I want to say that , the owner and management has really done everything to better the hotel , people are complaining about stuff that isnt relavent , no hotel is perfect, every where has issues , I think its well worth what you pay , have you ever heard you get what you pay for
I wouldn’t even give it a 1 but had to Complete this review. The place is a complete dump and should be condemned by the department of health.. we checked into our room and checked out minutes it’s smelled like somebody threw up in the room and the furniture was all stained up and The bathroom tub was black with dirt and paint chips hanging from the ceiling …If you’re reading this and looking to book a room Please heed my warning and don’t…I will be trying to get my money back I think it’s going to be a lost cause
Worst experience! Toilet in first room we entered was broken; was running and wouldnt flush. I had to shut it off myself. Switched rooms and wasnt much better. No towels or wash clothes. Was told still doing laundry. No iron or ironing board. Went to front desk and was given a broken ironing board that had no leg. The tub was clogged. The only plus was good shower pressure! We heard numerous gunshots, but the location was perfect! I guess you get what you pay for.
The Travel Lodge was an older hotel, but thats okay, weve experienced all sorts of hotels in our travels. But this one takes the cake on the number of problems we encountered. When we checked in, we were told go room 311, which we did. However the room hadnt been cleaned yet and the previous resident was still living there. Then we were offered a room on the second floor. Since the hotel didnt have an elevator that we knew of, we politely declined. (I have bad knees and my husband has COPD.We were then given a key to room 116 which had a very funky smell to it. We were told at the time that the room just needed to be aired out. That room still smelled funky even on the day we left. Added to that the room didnt have a dresser to put our clothes in. The closet was 3 rods held together, but no hangers were provided, Have you ever stayed in a room that provided no way to stow your items away? The website said the hotel would provide a continental breakfast, but we found out by the handwritten sign that the restaurant area was closed for good due to covid 19.The coffee pot didnt work and the person at the front desk said they got new ones in and they would replace it. They never did.NO ONE came to our room to clean or freshen it up the entire time we stayed there. Everything we needed, which included clean towels and blankets, we had to go to the front desk and get it.On our first morning at the facility, there was a knock on the door and there were 4 firefighters and someone from the hotel to search our room. Trust me, its disconcerting waking up and wondering if our room was safe. We were told repeatedly not to smoke in the room, which we would never do.The next day we were told the firemen would be back to check on the violations the hotel had, especially in our room. Again, our safety was in question. The second and third nights we were awakened in the middle of the night with a fire alarm. No explanation or apologies were made. The other guests there seemed to be down on their luck, because every single day, I was asked for a donation for food right outside the front door.Never received my itemized billing because the manager wouldnt be in until 11 am and we had to get the airport prior to that. There were two things we did like - the bed was comfortable, and we had access to a small kitchenette in our room with a microwave and a small refrigerator.
We had a horrible experience. The room was advertised as 2 queen-sized beds, but they were not that big. They were full-sized. The carpeting in the hallway and room was filthy, and we had only 1 towel in our room. The pillowcase was stained and it smelled like smoke. We left and asked for a refund. It was not granted.
Place was not well kept. The first room, television wasnt working/no remote, cup lids were dirty. I asked for another room, the shelf was broken in the restroom, lamp broken. Stained ironing board. A spill that wasnt cleaned up under the desk, dirty stained towels. I felt so uncomfortable there I slept on top of the blankets.Only thing I didnt have a problem with was the girl at the front desk.
This is also a homeless shelter. I live in the area and this place is well known as also being a homeless shelter. Ever since they started doing that its attracted all kinds of bad people. It has ruined the area.. The area feels a lot less safe than it used to. Last week I found a random homeless guy sleeping outside the door of my apartment building by the stairs... I guess he got lost on the way back to the Travelodge?
This was the worst hotel Ive ever stayed in.Every single piece of fabric in the room was badly stained, including *lamp shades.* How on Earth do you stain lamp shades? The smoke detector was dangling from the ceiling by wires. The TV had one button and the remote was nowhere to be found. With one exception, every employee acted completely unprofessionally, and they managed to botch *every single* aspect of check-in. I realized there was a miscommunication with my reservation and asked to be switched to a different room with a fridge and microwave. The front desk staff promised that the new room would be ready in one hour. When I asked about it later, they had forgotten about the request altogether and said to ask tomorrow. Surprise surprise, they forgot then too. They also forgot to give me a parking pass and only did so after another employee reminded them to--very lucky of them to do so, since they tow all cars without passes at the owners expense. Whoops! Oh, and the first key card they gave me didnt work. Checkout was at 12 PM, but that sure didnt stop cleaning staff from trying to enter my room TWICE in ten minutes, even after I told them the first time that we were still here.It takes quite a lot for me to write a bad review--I have stayed in my fair share of budget hotels and know what to expect--so I truly mean it when I say that this was the absolute worst place I have ever stayed and will actively advise my friends never to come here.
BEWARE! We booked a room over a month in advance, even got a confirmation email 2 days before our check in, but when we arrived we were met outside saying that the hotel was closed to the public! I explained that I had a reservation and was informed that the hotel had been sold out to serve as housing for the homeless! I was then told that I had given them the wrong phone number so they werent able to call me but the number they had was my phone number! The pics online on the Wyndham website of the outside and lobby are not current and this place is nasty. Its been a week since I called customer service and have gotten no response, an email to corporate yesterday got me a response that the manager will call me in 3 days, but whats the point now? BTW, a car pulled in after us and they got told the same thing so did the give the wrong phone number too? AWFUL!
This is a homeless shelter.. Dont go here if youre actually looking for a real hotel. I live in the area and this place is a well known homeless shelter. Its attracted all kinds of horrible people to the area and sometimes Ill find a random homeless guy sleeping outside of my apartment building at 3 in the morning. I guess he got lost on the way back to the Travelodge.
It was clean, the bed was comfortable, the front desk person was very friendly, the location is great, the price is reasonable, and my room had both a fridge and a microwave. On the downside, its really in need of updating and the wifi was so marginal it was mostly unusable. There was a notice that the free breakfast may be going away in January, so if thats important to you, you might want to check. I didnt see anywhere close by to eat, either, but it might be there and I missed it.
The place is disgusting and not kept up.. looks like a flop house or worse.. cant even find the sign , there are so many weeds covering it up. I have pictures to show you.. omg ..DO Not book here Wyndham Lakewood should be ashamed its affiliated with this run down place... I cant get my refund.. So scary and creepy!!!!
Where to begin. Booked online accommodations for a night while traveling through on a road trip.- Upon arrival, front desk attendant was clueless about online booking, was trying to pressure me into leaving a $100 cash deposit on the room, and needed to make a phone call to get direction. She told me she actually works across the street- room had a dirty, used face mask left in the bathroom by previous guests- at 4:00am a hotel employee attempted to access my room via key but was stopped by the cable lock. It was impossible to sleep after that, not knowing who just tried to enter my room or why until the morning.
Room was very clean. Facility seemed freshly painted. Seems like they are keeping up with this older hotel. Bed was very good as well as the heater was very quiet. The halls and through the walls were very noisy. Very bad to have neighbors who like to play their TVs at 3:00am! Good for the price.
Only stayed for one night. The over all hotel was clean, quiet and the staff was friendly. I would actually rank it 3.5 stars. The only reason Im not giving 5 stars are for minor detail things like the tile and grout of the bathroom are in need of attention. Also the water in the shower would not get hold when turned to hot but if you turn it to cold it gets hot and then would get either scalding hot or cold. For the price Id stay here again for a weekend.
Ive paid more for less. The staff was very friendly and polite when checking in/out. Room was clean and I didnt notice any bad smells. Room was a little small, but definitely adequate. Had a loveseat, chair, and desk in the room. Also a mini fridge and microwave. Bed was comfortable. Flat screen TV. Bathroom was basic, but again had everything you need. The bath mat had seen better days, but that was the only thing that was questionable. Nice, safe neighborhood. Short drive to the city. A lot nicer than I expected at the price paid.. $70 + tax.
Joseph at the front desk was happy to answer all our questions and give directions and recommendations. We were early and he made all effort to get us into our room, and did.Rooms are small but clean. We only needed it for sleeping. The beds are full size, not big enough for my husband and I. We tossed and turned. But overall, a good stay.
Had I took the time to read the reviews... smh at myself...from the get go I should had known by way the building was set up... I should had ran.... now i will say this.... I didnt come with ROACHES and be dammed if I take them with me... seen 1... might be 20 million more... im so kool on this hotel... never again... and I still want my money back....
I made a reservation to the Travelodge Lakewood location online and paid beforehand. Once I got to the location I was told only people with COVID were allowed to stay on hotel grounds. Firstly, I was confused why I was allowed to make a reservation online and pay if I wasn’t allowed to stay. That same night I requested a refund and waited 2 weeks and still hadn’t received anything. I contacted both the property and the customer service line to which the property manager said they would give me a refund but I never received the refund or got a call back. Never will I return to this place and I lost $130.
Was fine for a short overnight stay. online listing said it was recently renovated, but the room was very old looking and no signs of renovation to be found. Sofa chair had so many stains on it... questionable haha. At least the sheets were clean! And the breakfast was average.
Ive stayed at this place multiple times over the last 11 years. Always great customer service. Polite and friendly. Rooms were always clean. Even recommended it to out of town friends when they were visiting.Very close to Clifton Boulevard where there are plenty of eateries, grocery stores, bars, public transportation and even a CVS.Prices are very reasonable.I will definitely lodge there the next time I travel to Cleveland.
Rooms are fairly nice and clean, bed was comfortable. Very decent for the price. Older building, but the interior is not bad (not nearly as rough as the exterior). I’d give it a 3.5 if I could. My biggest complaint is that the water temperature swings wildly in the shower from scalding hot to cold, seemingly whenever anyone turns on a faucet or flushes a toilet in the building. The temperature throughout the building seems to be set a bit high as well. I wouldn’t mind paying a bit more for a nicer place, but it’s considerably cheaper than anything downtown, and one of the only places close that isn’t downtown.
Clean and priced well, close to all the attractions we were looking for. All the staff were very kind and helpful, room was clean and well kept. One light bulb was out, but there are certainly worse things in life. We did not get to enjoy the breakfast, but everything was great. Desk staff and cleaning staff were nice. Joseph was absolute best at our check in! Shame we didnt get to say bye to him when we left. 10/10.
For the price, this hotel was great! Ive stayed in much worse, for way more money. The staff was very friendly, everything was clean. The beds had protective sheets to keep out bugs, which was much appreciated. You could tell they were going through some renovations, as we heard drills & saws throughout the day, and there were some drywall patches in certain parts of our room. This was all totally fine with me as we werent around very much during the day, and it was nice to know they were actively working to change & renovate some things throughout the building. Again, for $80/night, can you really expect to sleep in a palace? Get real.
Staying in town for a few days on vacation. Very simple but comfortable hotel. Rooms are reasonably sized, beds are comfy, AC is cold. Did not have any of the included, complimentary breakfast, but breakfast area looks clean and well laid out. Would consider staying here again in the future.
Located 5 miles from the first energy stadium. Quiet. Room was clean. Staff was friendly. The breakfast included was acceptable. Overall the stay was good, safe and good. The only complain was my credit card was charged extra after I checked out and I prepaid for the stay.
Absolutely DISGUSTED. Booked a room through Hotels.com. They took money out of my account. Received a call from the hotel saying they would need to move me to another hotel. Okay, thats fine. They asked me which hotel I would prefer and told me that they would make the appropriate arrangements. Arrived in Cleveland and called the hotel they allegedly moved me to - they never moved the reservation. Called Travelodge back and got the run around. I was told I would need to fight with Hotels.com to get my money back, that I would have to call myself and try and find a hotel to get my room moved to. When asked to provide a number for manager we could speak to in order to resolve this, they even went so far as to give a fake number that was out of service when we called it .Long story short Im in a city several hours away from home with nowhere to stay for the night because of their gross incompetence and total disregard for their customers.
Got a 2 queen bed room. Beds were not queen. Shower faucet in the bathroom did not work right, something seemed stripped and it was tough to control the water from freezing cold to scalding hot. Room was fairly small for $133 a night. Staff was friendly and free parking was nice though.
Overall not bad for the price, although my room was extremely cold for some reason, even when I had the heat cranked to 75. The worst part was hearing that I was wrong about late checkout, even though the website clearly says Late Checkout and Early Check-in is available. Best bet would be to call the hotel, dont bother to make your reservation online. Also, its nice that they have wifi but kind of pointless if its not strong enough to reach your room. I could connect in the parking lot, but not my room. Weird. Free parking is definitely a plus, but if you arrive late you might not find a spot.
Not a fan of this hotel. It should be shut down. Carpets are filthy. Bathroom was clean. Breakfast was non existent, and was suppose to start at 6:30 am. There was a note on the service desk that the person had to step away for a few minutes and if you need immediate assistance to call number that was listed. I called and the number rang for 5 minutes. A half hour later (7:30) an attendant showed up and made coffee and set out fruit and bread. Really? They never did apoligize. Will never stay again. Pay a few more dollars and stay in a decent place, is my advise.
It’s surrounded by tall buildings, so when you look out the window that’s all you see. The toilet kept getting clogged and instead of switching rooms, they brought us a plunger. The last day we were there, the toilet overflowed and they brought blankets to soak up the dirty toilet water. I wish I would’ve paid an extra $100-$200 to get a better room. I won’t be coming back.
This place was a dump! It smelled musty and mildewy. The carpets and walls were stained/chipped paint. Bathroom fixtures were loose from the wall. The sheets were stiff and stained. The ice machine was broken. The ice bucket was sticky. The kitchen area was disgusting and had no healthy options. It was pouring rain when I arrived and no one offered to assist me with my bags.
Ive seen other reviews slamming this place, after my stay, I have to ask, why do you expect 5 star service from a $50 a night place? I stayed here 2 nights about a week ago. The Staff was very nice and friendly. While the room wasnt the most well lit place, it provided me with a place to sleep and the neighborhood is nice. Yes, the place could use some updating but from what I understand from some locals, this place has come a long way from what it was a few years ago. Bottom line: Id probably stay there again for that price.
Not happy with this place at all. We were fined $250 for “smoking in the room” because when we left there was a lighter in our suitcase and a pack of cigarettes that were not used. Very upset that the maid service went through personal belongings. There was absolutely no ashes no smell and no reason for this. We left our belongs in the room, followed the rules, and it should not have been an issue. Our door key never worked and we had to report to the service desk every time we needed to enter our room. Scammed us out of $250 and had terrible customer service!!! Will NOT be returning.
Nice little motel. I would stay here again. Rooms were clean, bed was comfy, shower was lovely and hot. Safe and pleasant location. I liked that it was a short drive to the beach on Lake erie, which would have been wonderful if we were staying longer. The staff who ?owned/run the place were very helpful, especially since I was sick at the end of my stay.
Honestly, the exterior may fool you when you first arrive. But the interior is awesome, looks remodeled as of recent, and is very clean. Parking is a little tough though. The staff that checked me in was polite, happy, and very easy to talk with. Which made things pleaseant. Once checked in our room was clean and in order and looked relatively new and remodeled. The room included free wifi, mini fridge, microwave, tv w/ cable and a writing desk for use.The bed was a king size and sleeping on it wasnt that bad but was just a little too hard for my personal preference.Next morning free breakfast was also a little underwhelming, no meat just choice of bread, cereal, and waffles. Along with juice, coffee and tea.All together package deal for $94 as a last minute booking for a weekend fri into Sat morning I cant honestly complain that much such as why I give this place a 4 star.
On Sunday, Aug. 2nd, we made a reservation through Wyndhamhotels.com, securing with credit card. When we arrived at the hotel later that day, there were no cars in the parking lot and a note on the door stated, As of July 31st, this property will be CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC! The door was unlocked, so I attempted to enter the DARK lobby, but was met by a single security person who reiterated that they were closed to the public, with no explanation given. There were no other employees, no guests, and seemingly no electricity either. I had to call to have the charges reversed and the Corporate representative had no idea about the closure. Just looked at the site 2 days later and they are still taking reservations, despite not being able to fulfill their obligations. Unbelievable.
HORRIBLE. Bed bugs, dirty towel with a dead spider, drugs, crack pipe, bloody mask. I said I would go quietly, until they refused to refund my trip. I walked in and immediately left and took a 4 hour shower at the Sheraton down the road. Absolutely disgusting. And no empathy from staff. Ruined my entire relaxing getaway. Gross.
This Horrible Place deserves NO star, actually. But, the programming does NOT understand NO Star to proceed to the next step ...... Grrrrr ......The Metred Wi-Fi to Kick you Out after the few hours preset, Broken furniture and equipment in the room, NO toiletries and NO basic supplies like cups, carbage liners/bags in the room, no staff to be found ......
The hotel was decent. We randomly went to Cleveland for the weekend and it was the best bang for the buck. The room was fairly clean, nice flat screen TV, great shower(little noisy bathroom), and there was free breakfast in the morning. Location was perfect, especially after a few drinks in downtown CLE, it was very easy to find even in the dark. I will be booking another room for the air show in September.
Stayed for one night while crossing the country. Very fair price for a King bed and nice sized room. The attendant at check-in was very friendly. Staff I encountered were friendly and accommodating as well and kept breakfast open a little longer for Sunday sleep-ins. You wont find much other than carbs, coffee, and some fruit at breakfast but its something to get you going. For the cost of the room, included wifi and breakfast are still nice to have.Location is good too; theres assortment of restaurants and nightlife nearby. Theres a cozy brewery/meadhall which is a great place to end the day before turning-in.I would stay again.
The location is perfect. (The lake is across the street.) The rooms are cozy and have been remodeled and updated. I really enjoyed my stay here. It was quiet, well-priced, in my favorite neighborhood, and a cozy refuge. The staff was friendly and helpful. Next time I visit, Im staying here again.
Great location in east Lakewood, blocks from 117th and Clifton. Basic self serve breakfast included in mornings for guests. Staff is nice. Property is older and could use a remodel. Room I had was small and backed up to parking lot, but the location was what I needed and it was great. Parking available around building. Vending machines and tourist info in lobby. Reception can supply some common items if you forget something.
We got a room that was outside away from the other rooms. Walked through a door leading to our room and there was a weird girl hunched over in the corner. There was definitely no exit strategy if the hotel caught on fire and the only stairs leading up to our room was blocked. Room was filthy, we put the blankets on the floor so we can walk on them. Pillows and sheets were stained so we used our own. Locks barely locked so I shoved the 2 chairs in the room in front of the door so my son wouldnt be afraid since he got scared by that girl. Worst hotel I ever stayed in but atleast the neighborhood was somewhat decent. Oh btw, we didnt shower cause there was stains in the tub and my son and I didnt want to catch anything.
The room when I first walked in was warm and had a slight musty smell to it, it went away after leaving the A/C on. It wasnt too unpleasant (the mustiness) very basic, comfortable beds, dont get the room by the front... The ice machine is very loud and you will hear the humming of it throughout the night. Its actually quite soothing if you are one of those people who sleep better with background noise. Big television. Wifi. Tub was very clean!... The breakfast... I had the room right beside the breakfast area, it was great.. Just walked out in my pjs, grabbed some Fruit Loops and a yogurt and went straight back into my room. Decent. Paid $101, thought that was too pricey for a 1 night stay. Website says 71$, when you call they say 89$ and it is 89$ they just tax you $12 so it totals to $101.
Dont expect anything fancy. We didnt. After several nights of camping, it was good to be in a bed for the night. Breakfast was continental with few choices. It was a one-night stop for us and we werent looking for anything fancy, just a good clean place to stay for one night. It fit the bill.
This is a no frills sleeping accommodation. It is all about the access to the shops, restaurants and bars of Lakewood that make this place a great choice. They were very clean and the front desk guy made my stay top notch. It would have been 3 stars if it werent for him. (Thank you Joeseph!)The breakfast is a bit depressing but it is free.I will stay here anytime I go to Cleveland.
This hotel has terrible staff. I was on my way in from Chicago and got caught in another city on the way with car trouble. There was absolutely no way I was going to make it out there. I called the manager to explain the situation and he had no sympathy. He told me to take public transportation from my location (barely across the state border) to get there to get my hotel which was going to be expensive and cost more than a cheap hotel in the area I was currently at. I tried some more to reason with the guy but he wouldnt budge and I ended up being charged for a night in the hotel without even staying there. On top of that, I had to get a hotel where I was stuck and had to pay for the car repairs as well. Very unreasonable manager. Do not support this location of the hotel, under its current management, it deserves to go out of business.
So the building is really ugly. Bright orange and yellow. But I guess that means its easy to spot from the road. The ramp inside is definitely not ADA compliant, theres no way a wheelchair user could get up that angle. The reception area is pretty nicely decorated and clean though. They have a snack and drink vending machine that take cash and card. The receptionist was knowledgeable and nice. I had to call the Wyndham support line before arriving to find my reservation number, though. Because I had entirely forgotten which hotel I had booked or where and had deleted my reservation confirmation email. The support line was helpful. The room was totally gross though. There was literal trash left from the people before us. A burger wrapper and napkin behind the sofa chair. Sketchpad drawings and notes on the ground by the bed and night stand. Black flecks of gunk from the air conditioner or dropped ceilings. A nasty stained sofa chair. A grossly patched hole in the bathroom. The wifi worked and the cable tv worked though. And it was pretty cheap for being pretty close to downtown. Very close to the lake too. Parking was fine. Didnt do the breakfast because the cutoff was 9:30 am and checkout was noon and I wanted to sleep in. I couldnt say the beds were comfortable because I was too exhausted to notice. The shower had ok pressure but the water would go hot and cold even when no one else was using the toilet or sink. But, it was as trashy as I expected a cheap hotel to be. There werent any bedbugs, so thats the only other redeeming quality.
I enjoyed the hotel. My girlfriend and I stayed for two nights. Extremely friendly and happy service. The location was very nice, one street away from the lake and there were plenty of convenient stores and restaurants nearby. I will happily stay here again if Im in the area.
I had wonderful time here at the Travelodge. It was very inexpensive and the people who worked there were great! I would recommend this place to anyone not looking to spend a lot but want more for there buck. The rooms were nice and clean. Very spacious and very comfy i think the only thing it was missing was chocolates on the pillows lol. Its right off of w-2 exit in a very lovely neighborhood. Feel very safe and secure! So if your every in Cleveland looking for a decent hotel near downtown this is your place!!!!
For an economy lodge, this place hit the mark with value. Very quiet quaint lakeside neighborhood, off street parking, very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms were clean and cozy, and topped off with complimentary continental breakfast. Thanks again to the check in staff, its all about the 8 cents!
The rooms are over priced and not all that clean not worth the money I was woken out of my sleep because the tiles off the ceiling fell in the middle of the room floor bed sheets had stains on them no shower curtain in my first room stains everywhere they really need to update the mini fridge smelt terrible it wasn’t even plugged up they don’t have anywhere you can sit down at outside or anything like 10/10 wouldn’t recommend they changed my room from when the ceiling fell and I forgot my charger in the other room in the boss was very very rude this place is just ridiculous
No frills hotel but very adequate. Room was small but very clean. Bathroom very clean and full water pressure in shower. Firm bed with nice bedspread. Staff was very helpful and polite. Great location. Near restaurants and only about 10 mins from downtown area. The only con I have is the internet was iffy. Large free parking lot. I would return if I was in the Cleveland area.
We didn’t even get to stay. We were trying to get a room for a future trip. My friend did an online quote, when she tried to pay for it, it was nowhere near the quoted price. When she called, it just rang. And when it did pick up it hung up on her. Taking our business elsewhere
This past weekend was my daughter and Is second visit to this wonderful little hotel. We will come to Cleveland for concerts and decided to stay here again for several reasons. Joseph who has been there to welcome us and check us in twice now is one of the biggest! His genuine care and excellent customer service can be rare today and he is such a breath of fresh air and wonderful. The clean and comfortable rooms along with the reasonable price will make this the only place we stay every time we visit!
I would have to say this is a hidden gem, location is good if you want to spend some time at the lake. Its not walking distance but a nice park is a short drive thought a beautiful old mansion neighborhood that is worth checking out. The rooms are small but recently updated and clean. Staff is very nice and it has the standard continental breakfast and most Travelodges have. Definitely would stay again if ever in town.
For the price, this place was fantastic! VERY clean, and newly remodeled. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating.. Of course it is not The Ritz, but you know that when you are making your reservations! Convenient location. I will absolutely stay here again.
Walked in the doors and for some reason theirs a single towel in the middle of the floor in the main entrance ....not sure what that was about. Anyway got into the room and did a quick inspection on where Ill be spending the night with my girlfriend tonight and found all these things around the room. Look at the pictures, you might re-think your stay. As for me i already paid for it and its non-refundable and the three bugs we found were already dead so well have to settle with it.
As far as affordable hotels go this place was super nice. The friendly night manager told us good stories about big cities. They have complimentary bibles to roll joints with and their juice cups for breakfast are the perfect size if you want to drink 10 cups of juice. Local night life recommendations include Great Lakes Brew pub and jumping over the fence to look at the river, which actually turns out to be,like, this giant lake.
We went to the Days Inn down the road first and it was so disgusting. Worst hotel Ive ever thought about staying in and they dont give refunds so they sent us over here to Travel Lodge and Joseph was at the front desk and was so amazing. Walking in the door this place is 100x better.
Went here to get a room while In Ohio to search for my missing son I drove from Tennessee well thank god i found my son I was thinking early that day I maybe would have to stay in Cleveland but didn’t I never used or stepped foot n door the clerk called ELIZABETH While I stood there and she said I’d be able to get my refund the clerk also made a phone call for a detective to ELIZABETH NEEDLESS TO SAY I FINALLY SPOKE WITH HER SHE BLATANTLY LIED AND SAID NO SUPERVISOR WAS THERE SO I ASKED WHAT HER NAME WAS SHE SAYS ELIZABETH I SAID YOU ARE A MANAGER SHE TOLD ME SINCE I CAME BACK HOURS LATER THAT I COULD NOT GET A REFUND HORRIBLE BUSINESS AND THERE IS NO INTEGRITY OF THIS PLACE GUESS THATS WHY THE DETECTIVE WANTED TO RUN BACK THERE CAMERAS I WOULD NEVER DO BUSINESS WOTH THESE PEOPLE IF YOU ARE A DECENT HUMAN BEING GO ELSE WHERE
Ive stayed at this place before so I knew it was old, however it had never been dirty like this. It was so bad I went to the front desk to ask for a vacuum cleaner, but no one ever showed up to help after 15 minutes so I gave up. Asked for a refund for second day, since I left after first day but was refused. Supposed to be under new management. They are a terrible failure. Not one staff member wore a mask either. Beware. If you value your health and safety you may want to avoid this place.
Got an email saying I had checked into a room at this location. I called to get more information as I was in another state. The manager was rude on the phone, refused to give any additional information other than telling me I was checked in and “I’m not sure what the problem is if your card hasn’t been charged.” I had to call non emergency to have an officer go over and investigate why my name was being used. The manager needlessly caused more confusion and frustration. It’s frustrating to know that in the case of potential identity theft this location will not help at all and potentially protect perpetrators of fraud.
This place is ran by the Cuyahoga. County department of health. A place 4 ppl with covid-19 can quarantine with- out giving it 2 there families,so I thought...ppl who are homeless with covid-19 are also housed here. Well here are pictures of living conditions here. The county doesnt a dam about us. The place is ran by V.N.A (Visiting nursing Association)
A great place to sleep !The staff, and especially the manager, are sooo nice !The rooms are quite recent, and you can even find a coffee maker in your bedroom !A really clean motel, its getting rare those days !There is a very nice park, about 15 mins away from the motel, that offers a beach, and a great view on Cleveland
Room was far more affordable than most in the area. Location is tucked away from Cleveland but not too far from area destinations and main highways.Facilities were attractive and clean. Staff were helpful and visible. Room was clean and spacious with a large newer flatscreen tv, and kingsize bed. The room appears to have space and place for a minifridge and microwave but these helpful appliances were missing from my room. There was however a substantial wet spot in the carpet in front of where the fridge would have been. Might have been a why mine was gone.Otherwise, hallways and parking lot were quiet and big enough despite the hotel appearing rather full.I will return whenever I need to stay in and around Cleveland.
We should of turned around. Filthy... shady neighborhood..and yes, theres bugs. Walking down to the lobby, there are dead ones on the windowsills. While showering, it would constantly get scalding hot like when someone flushed a toilet! Spend the extra $ and go elsewhere.
Tl:dr - DO NOT STAY HERE! HORRIBLE! They didnt honor our reservation, super rude and abusive clerk.Full Story - Made a reservation on the Wyndham/Travelodge web site, three rooms for two nights. Showed up, the clerk (Joseph) said he had us only for one night, not the two nights we had reserved. Showed him the reservation email and confirmation number, he said thats from the web site, so not their responsibility, they dont have to honor it. Tried to point out that it was not a 3rd party web site but the Travelodge / Wyndham site. He cut me off, very rude, abusive, mean, condescending, insulting. Refused to honor the reservation. Went on a little drama queen power trip about how he was in charge and if he wanted to, he could just cancel us and give us no rooms at all, or we could take what he would give us even tho it was only one night, not the two we reserved. Luckily, while the clerk was pontificating about how he did not intend to honor the reservation, my husband was busy finding us another hotel, so it all worked out. But I would most emphatically never stay here, and you should not either!
The outside of the building screamed sketchy. But once inside, the lobby and rooms were actually updated and pretty much what you would expect of a typical hotel. The staff were all friendly. However, there was definitely a revolving door in the room next to us and the noises kept most of us up all night.
I made a reservation at this location on Friday March 9th. Asked over the phone if they had smoking rooms and was told yes, when I arrived at the hotel I noticed the no smoking signs so I asked the receptionist if they had any smoking rooms available and was told they were a no smoking facility, I then asked for my card and Id back BEFORE I was charged and the receptionist gave me my things back, I left and didn’t stay nor was I told that I would still be charged, I never signed a receipt or anything. When I noticed that I had been charged on Monday March 12 and I called the hotel to find out why, the receptionist I spoke with was extremely rude in telling me what the previous receptionist informed me when she was completely wrong, I have no understanding as to why I was charged for a room I never stayed in, I never checked in or acknowledged that my card would be charged. The rude receptionist then hung up on me when I was trying to figure out if I could be refunded or given a credit for another day. This hotel has horrible customer service! And charges you even if you don’t stay, I understand being charged a portion for making a reservation and not showing but I had literally made the reservation 10 minuets before I walked in. And was also never informed that I would still be charged even though I didn’t stay.
Guys! Don’t spend your money on this horrible place!this is the worst hotel Ive seenEverything is dirty, smell is really bad, all the good reviews are fakeThey can charge you as much as they want and even booking support couldn’t helpAsher from the front desk was disrespectful, unkind, rudeSo if you dont want to ruin your vacation choose another accommodation!
Staff was very, very rude. When I first got there to check in, the guy at the front desk was socializing and told me that he would be right with me after about 5 minutes of standing there and told me that I might want to take a sit? I had a few people meet me at the hotel before going out for my birthday and he called me down to yell at me. Was very rude about it. Not happy at all. Started off my birthday weekend the wrong way. Would not recommend if you want rude service.
Ive never been to a hotel where the employee screws up your reservation and the guest have to suffer for it. He has me checked out a whole day early & every tho exped emailed over the receipt they STILL made me check out a day early!!!!! Im furious right now! Not only was it embarrassing but extremely inconveniencing!
Stayed at the Travelodge for game 7 of the 2016 World Series! The room was clean, and a steal for the price given other options around Cleveland were 3 to 5 times more expensive. Walls were a little thin, so you can hear a lot going on outside your room, and Im sure the opposite is true. Overall, very happy with my stay.
Hotel was lackluster, and the lady at the front desk had an attitude the whole time, arguing me, with guests, and coworkers alike. Very unprofessional and unacceptable. Also they do not honor reservations through THEIR WEBSITE and I had to pay extra fees and they wouldn’t even take my card! I had to use someone else’s and refund them. There is absolutely no customer service. Terrible hotel, terrible staff, a terrible time. Do not stay here!!!!This was absolutely the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had and I do a lot of traveling. Please do not support this place or stay here
I live on the gold coast... My family came to visit and thought I would try the hotel out. Biggest mistake ever!! Rooms were dirty stains on sheets, and whole family went to hospital for bed bugs. Do not let you or family stay at this place!!! Gross and if I know what I do now I would have paid for the Riz downtown!! After medical bills I could th ave paid for 23 nights at $350 a night!! Please save yourself, and family!! Thank you for reading local warning
The room appeared to be clean, however when we went to bed that night my fiancé woke up at 3am itching from bed bug bites. Further inspection we found roughly 6 large bed bugs. We asked for the manager but the front desk clerk said he was not in. We showed him the bed bug we killed. He offered us another room but we decided to check out at 3am and drive back home 3 hours away.
This place is disgusting! Idk how anyone could post a decent review here. Dirt, hair and who knows what all over the place. Every counter, tabletop and even the TV had smears and smudges all over it and if you think Im being ridiculous or overly judgemental you can see from my previous reviews that I am very fair and even more so from the pictures here I HAD to take to warn others including the pic I took right before I saved my wife from ending herself because she was just so disgusted.
This was a fantastic place! The Manager Joseph, was very helpful when a third party reservation website started being uncooperative and didnt adjust their own mistake, Joseph quickly took over and fought on our side the whole way! When you Stay, Call or make a reservation at the Lakewood Travellodge, ask for Joseph! Hes amazing!
Do not book this hotel through a third party. unfortunately, as we all know, flights get delayed due to weather and maintenance issues. If you are ever delayed and find out less than 24-hours before your reservation that you are not going to be able to check in, they will keep your money. They wont even consider your circumstances-- Very disappointing. I will never stay at a Travel Lodge hotel anywhere in the country because other hotel chains will consider on a case-by-case basis refunding money that they technically dont have to to maintain goodwill. Apparently Travel Lodge is one of those hotel chains that dont care about peoples experiences or their financial condition.
I’m in extensive travel or as I’ve been working in business for the last 12 years in the financial industry and I must say that during these time of crisis after I had an extremely Trumatic experience involving a collision with another vehicle in the hospital visit I showed up at this hospital with a room booked except for instead of the night I was anticipating on staying ended up being the next check in day because of the confusing Expedia format Regardless of this I was met by a very accommodating front desk receptionist who tried as hard as she could to accommodate my needs in switching The rooms without me being charged but needed a supervisors approval to do so in Kim to find the supervisor was at the bar down the street and would not speak with me or my Expedia representative over the phone and would not even give me the name or contact information of who I can talk to to resolve the matter. I had now have paid for two nights in a $20 cancellation fee some mouse conclude into my bill as well which is the cherry on top. I must say I have never been so insulted or discuss it in my life and I amNo I want to retaliate but I promise I will put all my energy into locating in making sure that the supervisor who is running that facility is dealt with by the administration or board on the hospitality institutions regulations service. If someone could please help me with some information I would be more than happy to literally pay them $100 just so I can make sure that the disgusting in horrific display of discourteous professionalism is never subjected to another person that is paying for the service this hotel does not provide work will gladly charged for. I will also be contacting my lawyer against Expedia because they refused to refund my payment for servicesThey are not providing me. I don’t mean to whine but I am a veteran of Guinness Dan and I came back with a very Trumatic mental stress condition which is not just push through stress better dystocia to have disorder that has made me very sensitive when it comes to confrontation and I almost threw up when I got to my room. If anyone would like to verify my accountability I will be happy to respond and give you my contact information so that you understand I am not a jerk trying to cause a ruckus but a professional who is now a victim of what I would consider that the most heinous type of fraud one could ask for and that is fraud within a hospitality industry based around it’s customer service appreciation and satisfactory
It’s in a nice neighborhood. The room was newly updated and clean. They’re renovating the entire place. For breakfast they served cereal, bagel/w/crm chz, toast, muffins, Danish, oatmeal, coffee, tea, milk, oj, & aj. The front desk clerks were all nice. It’s about 10mins away from downtown Cleveland and about 5mins away from a really nice park facing Lake Erie.
Google Review Lakewood OH Travel LodgeMade confirmed reservation to stay one night arriving Monday 18 May 2020. On arriving, I learned that the reservation had been transferred from Travel Lodge to nearby Lakewood Days Inn.Wyndham Hotels owns both. the Time was 1315 hrs. Check-in time is 1500. We will charge you an additional $20 for early check-in. Because I was tired and looking forward to a nap, I agreed. The stairs and corridor were dusty and there was litter. Threw open the door and room was in same condition. Worst of all was the smell. A smoker doubtless had preceded me. Your room is definitely a non-smoking room. Handed me air freshener. Promised to stop by the room. No one came. Wyndham never provided a reason for changing my reservation. Obviously, this was better for them. And They lied to me numerous times.
Nobody provided a room key while we were there for 4 days, getting into our room was only possible by the manager letting us in. Respectful and apologetic staff at least but very frustrating because we had to sit and wait for someone to show up at the front desk and on several occasions wait times exceeded 10 minutes.
This is one of the worst hotel experience ever. this shouldnt be called a hotel should be motel cause rooms are very small. as for customer service its worst i experience they are very rude not helpful at all..the manger was very rude didnt how to talk to customers!!!!!if you can try avoid this place please do u will be dispointed .

2022-04-25The room was rather clean, minus some stains on the carpet that I dont think would ever come out without a deep cleaning. Nicole was cheerful and welcoming, even though we arrived at 3am, and she maintained very friendly yet professional service. The breakfast was quite alright, especially for it being complimentary. We (including the manager) got harassed by a homeless person at the entrance (the manager called the police, obviously) and there was some people who were definitely part of a drug deal in the lobby, but thats hardly the hotels fault.

2022-05-03Positive: Location and parking was convenient. It was also nice to have a fridge and microwave. Negative: The hotel carpet needs to be steam cleaned and or replaced. The walls and doors in our room needed to be washed down with light damp cloth and soap and water (especially the bathroom door). The hotel is at its best 1.50 star. The staff was polite.

2022-05-03It look clean in the dark. The carpet was filthy. The furniture was somewhat decent. The walls had dirt spots on the. They had coffee in the lobby but no cups. The dumb clerk got my reservation mixed up. When l returned to the room all of my belongings was gone. The clerk said l had to pay to get my belongings back because it was a mix up..He claimed that the other clerk didnt charge my card. So l had to pay again to get my belongings. I will never go back to that flea bag, nasty car and tub. Its really changed since l was there . Its the pits now 😓😓😓😓

2022-06-28DISGUSTING excuse for a hotel.Over priced room that, didn’t have a working door lock, the sheets had some sort of “fluid and stains ALL over it. There was literal blood on the walls too. The floors looked like they haven’t seen a vacuum in decades. I was frightened to even take off my shoes let alone lay in this disgusting bed. When I asked for a refund (5 minutes after checking in) I was told no. The front desk woman, who was half asleep and didn’t even hear us enter, couldn’t answer or help with a single problem. We weren’t even offered new rooms. You are better off sleeping in your car than this rats nest of a “hotel”The neighborhood is also super sketchy the entire places doesn’t feel safe. Go LITERALLY anywhere else than here. RUN don’t walk from this spot

2022-05-18This place is a false advertisement. I rate it -100 (minus one hundred. I booked the room in February for an event on Saturday April 30th. The place was supposed to be disabled accessible and it wasnt. I was assigned 3 rooms and the TV didnt work in any of them. The first room didnt have any lights. This was advertised as a non smoking facility and the second room assigned smelled like someone had smoked 300 cigarettes. The last room was so filthy, I was afraid to sit down on anything. I had enough and I returned to the front desk to ask for a manager, and I was informed that the manager would not be in until the following morning, and I couldnt receive a refund. There was a sign that said ask how to get some money back , so I asked and was told to write a good review. I replied, I wont be receiving any money back because this place used false advertisements.

2022-04-19I understand disrepair. I understand the metrics of running an aging facility on a budget. But the Travelodge by Wyndham Cleveland Lakewood is an exercise in abject neglect. Five stars for the lady that checked me in. One star is generous considering the state of the facility. The sheets had multiple, visible stains. And there was hair from a previous occupant visible under the comforter. The carpet in my room had not been cleaned, or even vacuumed in a long, long time. There was pet hair and food/gum mashed into the fibers, and it was visibly dirty in dim light. The room smelled like mildew. And my room keys worked 1/10th of the time I tried to use them.Whoever is managing here should be ashamed of themselves and needs to be fired. Their priorities are clearly in the wrong place. Cleanliness should be the lowest bar to clear in a service establishment. And if that bar is too high, you need to find a new vocation.Just spend the extra $30.00 and stay somewhere else. Trust me.

2022-07-09Literally disgusting. The night time front desk worker was very nice. But upon entering the room my mom and I were DISGUSTED! The carpets were not vacuumed, the curtains had stains, the mattress had a cigarette burn hole covered by the sheets. This morning when checking out the front desk woman was RUDE and had a disgusting attitude when we asked for a receipt. I advice not to stay here

2022-05-26Outside the grass was 6 inches tall. The weeds were even taller. While my wife was checking in, I was leaning against a stone wall and a brick size stone fell out and hit my elbow.Didnt have breakfast like therewebsite said. Had to ask for toilet paper because what they had in the room was almost empty. No coffee machine in the room. Their website showed a manicured lawn, nice looking rooms and lobby. Toilet seat was ready to fall off! Fortunately we were only staying one night. Very outdated and dirty looking. Oh yea! I had to reprogram the TV too when we got in our room. 2 star hotel, yea right! There were stains on all the furniture in the lobby too. Could hear the people in the next room talking in normal voices. Wouldnt recommend this pit to anyone.

2022-06-30Free blood stain with your room! If you show up and your room has no power and reeks of cigarettes, you will STILL be charged since it was marked non-refundable. Did I mention hairs in the bathroom? Dust caked on the air vent? I left the room within 10 minutes of checking in but got to pay for an entire night and was refused any compensation. I recommend literally sleeping in your car rather than risking it and going here.
