Tommys Pizza in other cities:
My client and agreed to have Tommys Pizza two days ago. She has years of experience with them and just raved over them. Now I can rave! The crust was perfection, rhe sauce was not too sweet or bland, the toppings were ample and to perfection in flavor. Every ingredient was well balanced to make the perfect bite. I was inside only a moment but what I saw invited me to linger and relax for a spell. Quite charming, it was. This will be my and my sons next dinner out together. YUM!!
A Columbus staple from way back. Tommys is on everyones list of places to eat pizza and for good reason, Columbus thin crust at its finest. Family dinning, friendly atmosphere, and excellent pie with Pepsi and Columbus IPA on tap. My only dig is they are sparse with the sauce
One of my childhood favorites. The place is old, the decor is dated, and the pizza is timeless! The staff are fantastic and really capture that great old school service. Get just pepperoni and it comes on a crispy thin crust with the pepperoni curled up and crispy around the edges. I just ate some and still is making my mouth water!
Use to eat here all the time tw to three times a month now its a failing business it would seem, everytime I call closed try to stop in and order closed usually go-to is lane in UA tried to call location in Dublin closed. Unfortunately seems as if they are going under. Sad because its a great product.
Terrible place to order from, if you come to pick it up bring a book because your going to be waiting a long long long time for it to get done. They had plenty of people working, but moving like snails!!!! I’m so disappointed!!! And the lobby is closed you can’t even sit down in this place. What a dump!!!
I have eaten here for years because it’s been one of Columbus’ best pizza places. Sadly after my last visits this is no longer the case.Food wise the pizza just doesn’t taste the same anymore. New recipe, cheaper ingredients, different flavor. Once amazing pizza now tastes and feels like cardboard saturated with grease. My last pizza was so awful I threw it out.The pizza isn’t the only thing that’s changed here though. The staff, particularly the ladies that handle carryout, are awful. Rude glances at your customers will lead consumers to realize they have better options available! They could care less about in-person pickups and favor the “door dash” orders now also. At my last visit, the table for door dash was piled practically to the ceiling with unclaimed food while everyone in person stands there starving. I waited almost two hours for a simple two topping pizza. It deserves one star honestly, but for them keeping the lunch deal prices and not changing their dining space.
A shadow of its former self. This corpse just doesnt know its dead. The sound you hear is Tommy, spinning in his grave. They treat you like you are lucky to get a pizza. You should be thankful they took the effort to cook for you. The staff is surly at best.Business hours appear to be suggestions, often not honored.Frequently phone lines are busy, because no one is answering the phone. Ive attempted to call from the parking lot, get a busy signal, but upon entering the building, no one is on the phone taking orders.I can not express how sad it is that an establishment Ive loved for over 45 years is gone.
Tommys pizza has been an institution in my wifes family for years. When her uncle came to town I finally got to dine in and experience the magic that they have taken part in every week for years. Great pizza, great staff, great neighborhood/family feel. Would recommend to anyone.
Probably the best thin-crust pizza you will ever have... but they are frequently busy so... expect long waits and the service maybe not always be customer friendly. If something is wrong... dont expect to be compensated, just be happy you have your pizza... lol. The place hasnt been remodeled since the 80s and it is overdue, regardless there is a bit of nostalgia to the those that have been coming here for over 30 years.*Update: last few pizzas have been disappointing, plus the employees always seem unhappy there. Time to look elsewhere.
We had a very bad experience with Tommy’s pizza. We ordered two pizzas for pick up and my husband received a text stating the order was ready for pickup. I went in, paid for the order and then was told it wasn’t ready. It would be 5 more minutes. I waited 10-15 minutes and then my husband came in and requested a refund since our pizza still wasn’t ready. At this point it is an hour past the time they told us it was ready. The pizza cook was listening from the kitchen and said “well we’ve only got one oven”. My husband responded that he just wanted a refund. The pizza cook said it was too late because it was already in the oven. Words were exchanged and the manager threatened to call the police if we didn’t leave. I convinced my husband to wait in the car and she finally gave me the refund. Poor management and rather than assume responsibility for poor customer service and correct their mistake, the manager made the situation worse. No pizza is worth such poor service and we will never order from there again
Horrible management! Come in and pick up an online order for a construction site across the street and while picking up 4 of us sat down to eat lunch. The workers from across the street were walking over to pick them up. The manager said because we were eating our pizza and lunch at a table we had to pay TAX for the online order!!!! It was unbelievable. Ill never go back and I will let all of my people know not to eat there. AND... The food tasted bland and wasnt worth the money. On a positive note, Bonnie our server was very nice. She has worked there for 39 years and we left her 60 cash and wished her luck as shes ready to hang it up. Good for you Bonnie.
Tommys Pizza is definitely the must go to establishment around Ohio State campus and in central Ohio. Their pizzas are good but personally I think their subs completely top everything else that they serve. My kids and family always stop at Tommys Pizza for a Sub, french fries and a beverage
I have never seen such blatent disrespect for health codes.Hope you like your pizza with an extra does of germs... I waited in this store for 15 minutes and watched as the two older workers made pizza after pizza without washing their hands or wearing gloves. The older woman used her BARE HANDS to put on everyones chesse and toppings. Then after they came out of the oven, I had to watch they guy touch his face and his head as he is handling all the pizzas without gloves.
Pickup order was ready 10 minutes before closing of store. Got home. Was given wrong sub and wrong pizza. Called and no answer. Called at open of business today to get told should have brought back. This has happened several times as I get off work late. Lost our business of over 20 years with this incident! The customer service has gone downhill the past few years. I will be sharing this with all friends and family as well.Whoever’s pizza I got was very good though!
Go to iaconos. I’ve heard it’s the same pizza. We went to the campus one by mistake. They were awesome. This location was awful. After telling me they didn’t have my pizza twice, they realized they did, and shoved it at me. I’d love to say I’d keep buying from a different location but get it together. I’m telling all my family to stop it with Tommy’s and go to iaconos. It’s simple to be nice to people. I only gave my name and was treated rudely. Not a big deal but when your only job is to be nice to customers, and you can’t do that? Get it together ya schlubs
Food was very delicious! I loved my sub and the pizza was also very good. The fried zucchini was absolutely amazing and the ranch is the best you can ever get. Period. Our waiter was super sweet too. Only complaint is the place smelled really funky, but I adjusted after about 30 minutes once I stopped thinking about it.
One of the best restaurants to go for pizza. Its truly one of the best pizzas in Columbus. It has a thin crispy crust, a great sauce, premium cheese, and great toppings. The Lane avenue location also serves beer, making it a great place to go for beer and pizza. Friendly staff, a decent price. I definitely recommend you try Tommys Pizza.
Favorite pizza place in Columbus. Most people that eat here have been coming for years ever since they were a kid. Dont mind the dated decor and worn furniture as their pizza is delicious! The crust is crispy and thin. The sauce has a really good flavor, the cheese is stringy, and the toppings are always crispy. I love the pepperoni pizza but the other choices are great too.Tommys has great pizza. They offer subs and salads but I have never had them. I think this place holds a special place in the established community of Upper Arlington. I think they could do a better job advertising to the new and young families that are moving in to the area by renovating the dining room and giving it a well deserved face lift. Keep up the great work.
Fantastic... I have been going to Tommys for the last 18 years. Amazing people and amazing food. Until now. I showed up for a delivery and was told that I had to wait outside or show my vac card to the on duty cop. They were complaining about not having enough help, but the can pay a special duty cop $32+ an hour to scare people away? My son and I went to the Tommys on Campus and it was night and day difference.
I used to love Tommys lately the pizza has been well done/burnt at both locations. The Tommys on lane in Columbus made me bring both pizzas back when I finally called to complain and I had to drive 30 minutes back to be told they hadnt started baking the the pizza yet, also the fish sandwich was horrible and was told they knew they had poor quality fish but served it anyway and charged over 7.00 for the sandwich. I was out the sandwich money and $ for Tommys extra cheese ect.. they said extra items made the pizza cook extra time and this caused burning. Also when told to bring the pizza back I was told make sure there is two complete pizzas. I wont be back, with the customer service and this isnt the first time I received pizza burnt they will slowly go out of business unless they replace the crew they have in there now. They simply dont care!
I have been going to Tommy’s for 20+ years and will now no longer be visiting. I ordered a large pizza last night and asked for extra pepperoni and cheese however both were not on there. Since it was the last order and they were no longer open I called this evening to advise them of the mix up expecting to at least receive a credit for the extra that I was charged. Instead I was met with a manager who has zero customer service and advised me that their policy would not allow her to do anything for me.
This place has changed in the last 3 months. When you enter the place there is a bad vibe that was never there before. The workers are unhappy and the management is poor. Been a regular for 35 years. But the last two experiences have been horrible and this is not a fun place to go, let alone the immense increase in menu prices. Great pizza if they are in the right mood but that has been increasingly less often. Miss the old Tommys. This was a decent business that has gone south. They basically treat clients rudely and unconsciously say you are lucky we will seat you or better yet wait on you. Sad.
Best pizza in town! Staff is great - they always remember us and treat us like family. Crispy crust is perfect, salads and dressings are excellent. This is where people who’ve moved away from Columbus want to come back to when they visit. Upper Arlington location is busy Friday night so a wait is possible but worth it!
Ordered for pick up last night and was greeted with absolute hostility when I entered the restaurant to pay. Despite my medical exemption, I was not welcomed to pay and leave with my dinner. I was told under no circumstances would I be leaving with my food unless I put on a mask even after I had maintained my distance and even offered to wait outside to allow them to put my food by the door so I could pay and leave without disturbing anyone. The cashier never asked if I had an exemption and wouldnt say anything except shout at me while my food sat clearly on the counter behind them and I had cash in had to pay. On top of this, I witnessed multiple employees pull down their masks and engage with others in the short moment I was in the restaurant. Talk about hypocrisy. Im extremely disappointed and upset by how I was treated. Neither me or my family will be going back after this humiliating experience.
Ive ate here for 6 years, never disappointed. Pizza is never bad, always cooked perfect, and the employees are super nice. Only thing I dont like is the tuna sub. Just my opinion, I dont hold it against them, but its too sweet for my taste. Anyone who likes a sweet taste on their sandwiches will easily love it.
If you like thin crust pizza, you have to go to Tommys! Their pizza is the best! The crust is almost cracker-like, and every pizza is cooked to perfection. You can even request that it be a little crispy and the cooks will bake it a little longer for you. Their staff is always friendly and the waiters and waitresses have impeccable memories for orders. Tommys is an eating destination!
Tommys is the best pizza in Columbus. We like the location on Lane ave by the corner of Lane Ave and North Star. Staff has been there forever. Food is always amazing. Definitely call ahead because they are very busy and the wait can be high but its only because their food is so good!
I hadnt been to Tommys in at least 15 years. I just never get to that area any more. Tommys is an Upper Arlington icon, and their pizza is legendary in central Ohio. We were close last week and I wanted to see if it was still as good as I remembered. IT WAS AMAZING! My 2 favorites were always their Italian sub and their pepperoni pizza. We ordered both. The service was instant and top notch and the food was fantastic! Im so glad some things never CHANGE!
I ordered the Family spaghetti with homemade noodles. IT WAS HORRIBLE. Not only was it not homemade noodles. The sauce was red paste with sugar. NO flavor. The meat balls were some kind of mush that was barely cooked. Tommys keep making your pizzas, but stop making spaghetti. Its lousy. Alot of money for nothing.
Had take out here... many locations all are older and show it. I visited two of the restaurants as I didnt think that two of them would be on Lane. The pizza was not the best ever as advertised but filling with adequate toppings... to me nothing special. The meatball sub comes without cheese??? Lol and a premium price...
Best pizza and subs in town, and the best Ive ever had. Been eating here for 35 years. The negative reviews are from people who just dont get the Tommys experience. Sure, they probably havent done much to remodel the dining room, but that is the ambiance in itself. Most of my friends who have moved away and come back always call and we meet at Tommys, (usually before they go and visit wherever they were going!) Its all about the food, and it is the best pizza and sub youll find here in C-Bus
Tommys has been a local institution for decades. I rate it 5 stars at this price range. They provide an affordable pizza with a delicious, airy sour-dough crust. Its a thin-crust pizza with great big yeast bubbles in it. The sauce is flavorful and they provide all your favorite, traditional pizza toppings. All for a great price. Nothing fancy here, just great, tasty pizza.
Best cracker crust in the state, but best ranch dressing in the country! The cheddar cheese balls are like a bomb of flavor in your mouth, but dont rely on the cup of ranch that comes with it to be enough, order another just in case!Pizza recommendation: pepperoni meatball, well done!
Tommys Pizza is a wonderful 1960s-style restaurant that serves pizza, subs, sandwiches, dinners, and other items. This location of Tommys Pizza [1350 W. Lane Ave.] had opened in 1963; the very friendly personality of that restaurant has never changed. If you want to visit the 1960s while eating some delicious food, I recommend Tommys Pizza.During my most recent visit, I ordered a Sausage Sandwich. The hamburger-shaped sausage patty in that sandwich had been far larger than I had expected [and had been a different shape than I had expected]; that sandwich had been absolutely delicious and very filling. The bathrooms at Tommys Pizza are extremely small and definitely are not wheelchair-accessible.
Tommys has great pizza! The thin crust is different than anywhere else. I always get their pizza, but friends get their subs and like them. The wait staff at the Upper Arlington location is very good; a group I am with eats there in a regular basis and the staff always remembers our orders. I definitely recommend Tommys!
Best pizza ever, no matter what city, state, or country. To make it even better, order the pizza baked extra crispy. This brings out the flavor of the wafer thin crust and dries up any unwanted grease ( Tommys pizzas are not greasy, but they do have cheese, as do all pizzas, so some extra oven time removes any grease). The best pizzas are made on weekdays because Tommys is slammed on Fridays and Saturdays...still good, but not as good as on M through Th. We have been loyal fans for decades, since Tommys first opened, and no matter where else we go, we always hurry back to fabulous Tommys.
I was in the neighborhood around Lane Avenue in Upper Arlington about a month ago and decided to pick up a pizza from Tommys. It was just as I remembered, this is one of my favorite pizza places in Columbus. I believe there are only a couple left in the city and I think they are both on Lane Avenue, there might be one more somewhere but I am unsure about that. The pizza is thin crust and very good, I usually just get a pizza with pepperoni and a salad on the side. The dressing for the salad is a basic vinaigrette but it is really quite good, I wish I knew what they put in there besides oil and vinegar so I could make it myself. Their subs are also quite good and worth ordering if you can handle that much food or if you go with a group.
Want to feel like youve gone back in time to your childhood favorite pizza place? This is it. Nothings changed in decades. Literally. I mean LITERALLY. Walk in and the aroma greets you at the door - just awesome. And the pizza is as fantastic as ever. Its like a living time capsule. What a treasure.
Ive eaten at this Tommys 5-6 times and Ive had pretty good quality pizza from them. I usually come to this location with my family if we dont go to the one in Dublin. There is more room for large groups and more parking available than the campus location. I would say that I think the pizza is better too. This along with some of the other Tommys locations could use a little bit of an update in terms of look/feel.I will certainly be back as Tommys is my familys favorite pizza in Columbus.
A classic sort a pizza joint. Florescent lighting, white drop ceiling, basic tables n booths, not much interior decor.BUT Decent prices n cold beer. Can get crowded, bustling n loud.5 stars bcService generally good to excellent.Quality always good to great.Prices decentIf you want a cozy romantically lit place this is not it; but if you want to haul the gang out for some great pizza, cold beer, decent service and prices without worrying about any dress code..definitely a solid Yes!
What a great pizza. This was my first time there and the service was awesome and the pizza was top notch. We had 9 guys from our office there and they took very good care of us...your cup didnt get a chance to get empty and the to go boxes showed up with out us even having to ask. Ill be back.
This place used to be the best. The last 7-8 times we have ordered it has been a big disappointment. We have to wait a long time over the estimated time. Our pizza is always done way before the rest of our food and it sits out and gets cold. The customer service is the WORST I have ever seen! I keep giving them another chance hoping it will go back to the way it used to be. After tonight Im not sure we will order again. I used to drive 45 minutes for this pizza and now I wont drive 5 minutes for it.
Updating for this UA location. Weve tried ordering a couple of times recently via both phone and online. All you get is either a busy signal nonstop or a message asking for your remote ID. The online ordering throws an error. I dont know how they are staying in business. We ended up giving up and ordering from donatos. I would recommend trying another location to see if its more responsive. UA has gone downhill and nobody seems to care about customer experience .
The best pizza on the face of the planet. I have launched many startup pizza companies, and tasted hundreds of pizzas. But pepperoni pizza and all-the-way pizza from Tommy’s is the best around. I literally drove 450 miles to get the pizza today. OK, I had to visit a client Columbus, but it was really about coming to Tommy’s. Keep up the amazing work!
I have never had a bad Pizza from Tommys Pizza on Lane Ave in Upper Arlington. I started coming her when I was 10 over 45 years ago. The crust is perfect the cheese makes you dream about it and all of the ingredients are fresh and taste better than any other pizza shop I have tried. When I visit friends or family members in other states they ask for ne to bring Tommys Pizza. Note if you have a piece or two left in am which is rare for me, chop it up and put it in an on let you will not believe it!Lifetime Lover of TommysKurt
I grew up coming here but as an adult i have had my last bad experience at this location. I have went in and been told that i had to sit somewhere so packed i couldnt breathe because they had the other section closed. This time i found hair in my pizza not one but 2 different hairs... A short white hair and a shorter grey one... Are you serious... Never going back.
This is a staple of the OSU/Columbus experience. This place has fantastic food, friendly service, decently priced, and has comfy booths to sit down and eat your pizza with friends or family.Parking can be bad in this area, but thankfully they have more behind the building.Ive only had the pepperoni pizza. Getting a large fed 3 people.I would definitely recommend this restaurant, and their sister restaurant Iaconos in Hilliard.
Carryout pizzas arent made until you arrive.Best pizza in Columbus! Hands down!Im docking one star because they are inconsistent on their pick up time estimation. Last time I called in for a carryout I was told it would be 45 minutes. I arrived at the 45 minute mark and they havent started on my pizza yet. This has happened a few times in the past, but for the most part theyre on time.Update on 2/22/2018They are still not making pizzas called in until you arrive.
Waiter didnt put my to go order in when i ordered it so i sat around eating my dine-in food for half an hour. the shrimp on the pizza was a mistake. the shrimp were so small that it reminded me of maggots and i couldnt eat it after a few bites. i will never eat here again.
Great pizza. No doubt. I have never seen so any fruit flies in a restaurant in mid January in my life. Not to mention the disgusting napkin dispensers that have a layer of filth coating them. You need to take a napkin to pass the napkin dispenser because it is so disgusting. Oh and if you could have clean tablewhen guests sit down that would be a bonus too. Again pizza is great but service and cleanliness is horrible.
Multiple times now we have ordered pizza carry out from this restaurant and it has taken an hour or more, when they told us to come get it in half an hour. By the time we get it home, its cold. They take our money when we come to pick it up and then were stuck waiting another half an hour. Good pizza, awful service.
The food is great here 90 percent of the time, but when they get busy it can be harder to keep up with that quality we love. This location does not accept the $1.50 coupon that is always available for the Dublin location and at almost $19, that doesnt seem logical that the Dublin location with its feetf sales can offer a discount where as in upper Arlington were this place is literally so busy that you cant reach them on the phone cant offer the same coupon. That bring said, the 80s called and are requesting that you give up your old phone system and switch to one that doesnt make is have to use auto dialers to order a pizza on Saturday. Over 40 minutes of calling you five times a minute and it still hasnt been able to connect. Is your phone off the hook?
Extremely rude phone service. Just called asking if you could do advanced orders and I get Tommys Pizza, we open at 4 oclock. I said thanks, are you able to do advanced orders? His reply: We open at 4 oclock. If youre a pizza place that takes phone calls, it might be good to show some class when greeting customers.
Cant believe in these times with covid 19 they will not even bring your pizza out to your car!! You need to go inside and sign your receipt and pick up pizza! Every other pizza place in town will let you pay for it on phone and they will bring it out! Lost my bussiness!
Went to this location and not only was I given the wrong order, but the food was incredibly dry and stale. To the point where it was inedible. Did not realize till I got home and due to COVID-19 decided to just avoid the hassle and throw away the food. I tipped 50% as well, so this is totally unacceptable. Would not recommend this place at all.
My friend and I ate here for the first and last time tonight. I had heard good things about their pizza, it had good reviews, and its been open forever, so I imagined it would be fantastic. I believe the main issue was that we chose to dine in and order dinner. It might be a perfectly good place to carry out pizza, but if that is the case, they should not even offer dine-in and should definitely not offer dinners. The ambiance was severely lacking. (There really is no ambiance.) But, that wouldnt have mattered if the food was good.I ordered the chicken parmesan. My waitress asked, the sub? I said, Oh, no - the dinner. I didnt realize there was a sub. She said, Sorry, we just dont get a lot of people that order dinner. Normally people get pizza and subs. I dont think Ive ever had someone order that before. I dont even know if it comes with salad or anything. RED FLAG. My friend ordered the ravioli. Another item that apparently had never been ordered before. When our food arrived, I imagine it is what italian food would look like if you could buy it at Speedway. Our pasta wasnt drained and was soaking wet. There were pools of water in the bottom of both of our bowls coagulating the bland sauce. To say the chicken tasted like a hockey puck would be an offense to hockey pucks everywhere. It seemed to be seasoned with something odd that left an aspartame-like aftertaste. My friends meatballs were burned, and her ravioli were barely cooked. When our waitress asked how everything was, we told her it wasnt good. She said she had no power to do anything but we could tell the cashier. The cashier didnt give any indication that she cared how our meal was, as when we told her it wasnt good, she just told us our total.I took my leftovers home because I was hoping it would be better reheated and that maybe I could jazz it up somehow. It was not possible. So that was a waste of $12.If the subs and pizza are good and everyone does carry-out, maybe just stick with that and dont offer dinners that you arent prepared to make. I couldve gone down the road to Carsonies and spent the exact same amount for something delicious, plus ambiance, and courtesy.
Tommys has the second best pizza in town in my opinion. If you enjoy Donatos, then Tommys is 1000% authentically superior, but I warn you, I am of the following that Donotos ripped off Tommys original recipes. Everything Ive tried at Tommys is delicious, and I LOVE and ENCOURAGE you to STOP eating at chains like Donatos and eat at an old town institution. You wont be disappointed!
They said my pizza and sub would be ready in an hour, when time was up all my order wasnt ready, they forgot the sub, said another 15 minutes, still wasnt ready, 15 more minutes later its ready pizza was cold and all I got for them being sorry was a 2 liter of soda. Itll be a while before I go back.
I ordered a carry-out Turkey Sub. When I got home I realized I had example Turkey cheese and tomato sub sandwich with mayo packets included on bag. They didnt tell me I had to ask for banana hot peppers and for it to be toasted. Maybe it was on menu. Changing your rating up to a 3It was not tasty at all. The original owners would not be happy
My Girlfriend {72yrs.} and I {65yrs.} do not hesitate to drive from our house on the Hilltop to W.Lane Ave. {Campus Area} to get what we consider to be The Best Sub In Columbus from Tommys Pizza ! She attended OSU from Freshman year through her Doctorate, and my 1stJob was 3 years at a Pizza store in Whitehall, starting my Senior year ofHigh School . We Love Tommys, and we know whereof we Speak !DOC & Dr. B .
They have amazing pizza ..homemade blue cheese...customer service here usually sucks..they have a cocky attitudes...stress they are a family owned restaurant wich has nothing to do with being appreciative of their customers and be nice to them . food is great tho..just improve that customer service and they could get 5 stars maybe.
After almost 40 years of coming to toms through high school college., and each and every time i am up from Florida. .i will never step foot in Tommys again. .we called on Friday night to order 10 pizzas for a party. We were told call 2 hours in advance. on Saturday. I called 4 hours in advance and was told through dont take preorders. .i would have to come in and wait. . 30 people at the party and misty of them UA graduates will never come back. . You just lost a ton of future business. . not just a $200 order
Worst restaurant Ive ever been to....they gave us the tiniest styrofoam plates to eat on..and the side salad is 4.50 and they put it in the smallest styrofoam bowl and then charged me a dollar for getting dressing with my salad!!!??? Who charges someone for getting dressing with a salad!? And then charged us a dollar because it was game day! And it was just a spring game...not to mention terrible service
I got a Italian sub, onion rings and a side salad, the salad came first and it was so good, then the sub and onion rings, that sub was the best sub Ive ate since i first started loving Italian subs as a teen, it was so perfect, the rings was killer, the oil and vinegar on my salad was perfect, thank a bunch and great job guys
Like the pizza and I order at least twice a week .last time I ordered spaghetti dinner they left out the garlic bread.i called and was told let them know next time and we will correct it.just ordered again and asked for the garlic bread they missed last time and was told no you need a note.So there are lots of good pizza places in Columbus so Tommy’s can keep there dinners
ABSOLUTE WORST service Ive EVER had. Had to get up twice to get refills on our drinks & when we complained about the POOR service, one of the MANAGERS had the audacity to tell US (THE CUSTOMERS) that we DID NOT have bad service. Then to top it off another manager told my father not to ACT LIKE A LITTLE KID .. Seriously? Weve been coming here for years. Unacceptable.

2022-06-06Great Pizza but the place needs help in the Sub Department! I love the pizza here and the Subs could be just as good however they never pay attention to the customers order. If a customer pays for double meat and well done the sub should be double meat and well done. Instead, they rush the subs out in a hastily fashion and not only do they not provide the double meat the sub is also cold and not fully cooked. This has happened on 4 separate occasions at the Arlington location. You can do better Tommys! If want good pizza they still are on point, if you want a good sub head to Iaconos where the subs are great and the staff listens to their customers.

2022-06-10My brother and I grew up eating the pizza and subs every other Friday for dinner. No other pizzeria can mimic the saltine cracker texture crust. Best pizza this side of the Midwest.

2022-07-16I usually like thin crust but these pizza’s crusts were kind of dry & papery. Not bad but not great. Cheap & fast though, so still a good value.

2019-01-27Where to start with Tommys Pizza?Well Ive lived in the Columbus area for over 18 years and have never eaten at any of their locations - I know thats almost blasphemous. To my defense Ive always lived on the NE or E sides of cbus.I decided to make the trip on 01/25 to the Upper Arlington location and give it a try. I called to order pickup at 6:30pm, the line was busy - didnt even think that was still possible in 2019. Called back a few minutes later, phone rang 10 times then someone answered and said Tommys can you hold. I said sure, then was on hold for another couple minutes. Not a great start so far.I ask if I can place an order for pickup, the person said itll take an hour, to which I replied no problem. So I place my order - a large pepperoni and pineapple, a large sausage and green pepper, a meatball sub, broccoli bites, and cheese balls. The person doesnt tell me how much the total is and just says bye. Not really a big deal, but theyre not off to the best start. So I wait an appropriate amount of time and set out on my drive, trying to time it so that I arrive after an hour has elapsed. Based on my GPS it looked like I was going to arrive a couple minutes early, so I stopped and got a car wash. I finally reach Tommys and it has the old school charm from the street with their old fashioned sign and building. However I quickly noticed their parking lot was packed full, so I double parked at the pet supply store next door, figuring Id be in and out since at this point it was an hour and 5 minutes after I ordered.I walk inside, pay my bill and the cashier says Well let you know when its ready Hmmmm perplexing considering its already been longer than an hour. So I stand there, 5 minutes pass, then 10, now Im getting worried about parking at the pet store, figured plenty of people do it and they probably get towed. So I nervously walk out front and very quickly check on my car - its fine, no tow truck in sight. Walk back in and continue to wait. Another 5 minutes pass, I repeat the check on my car and walk back in. Finally after waiting a total of 20 minutes they have my order ready, which makes it an hour and 25 minutes after placing my order. So at the point Im pretty irritated and thinking to myself this pizza better be worth it. I get home and check the order, its all correct which is a good sign, pizza looks great, has ample toppings. All the additional stuff I ordered looked great as well. Now to the good part, despite the issues with ordering and picking up, it was absolutely worth the hassle. All the other reviews I read said the crust was cracker thin, and this is only sort of true. When I hear that description of a crust it makes me think of Rubinos which I didnt particularly like. Tommys crust while thin, was crispy, flakey, and delicious, definitely a bit thicker than cracker thin. The sauce/cheese/toppings were all fresh and excellent quality. The meatball sub was awesome, you can definitely tell the meatballs were homemade. The bun was a bit soggy even though they double wrapped it in aluminum foil, but thats easily rectified by just toasting it at home for a little bit. The cheese balls were golden deep fried and tasty. Lastly the broccoli bites - it was like eating cheesy broccoli casserole inside the same golden deep fried shell that the cheese balls had.The pièce de résistance, however, was their ranch. Hands down the best ranch in the city. Its homemade and spectacular. I recommend getting a pint with your order if you carry out so you have extra at home.Overall the quality of the product far outweighs their customer service and was totally worth it.My personal rating for the pizza is a 4.9, ranch is a 5, sides are a 4.7 and customer experience is a 4. Overall I would rate Tommys a 4.8. Since Google doesnt allow decimal reviews I rounded up to a 5.I will definitely be back in the future and will just plan on their quoted pick up time being off due to how busy they are.
