This place is fantastic. They have a nice selection of games of all kinds, and if they dont have something in stock they will do their best to get it for you. Furthermore, they have plenty of space for you to host your d&d groups (or other games). It was a nice meeting place for my new campaign. We were able to order food and they had lots of beverage options for reasonable prices. We will definitely continue to use them to hold our sessions.
Pleasant staff. Ok prices. The grading method for trading cards needs work. I had several employees agree that a card wasnt near mint but rather heavy play but the grader wouldnt budge on price. I like supporting my local game stores but they make it difficult at times. Still frequent, but not as often as I used to.
Literally the best place for warhammer meet ups and buying WH40k/AOS minis they have a lot of stock that is usually sold out online. all at MSRP and free tables and terrain to play onI see a lot of people play random board games and MTG/Pokemon here too tons of room for all the things.they started to carry Gunpla too!
The store has a good selection of game products. The service is good and the people are pretty friendly. Pricing isnt the best but that is to be expected when you have as large of a footprint as thrley and try to make a profit at a physical store location. The parking isnt the best and be sure to lock your vehicles. If they dont have what you want they are more than happy to order it for you. I appreciate they have as much product as what they do on their shelves.
Its more than your typical card shop and more than just your typical gaming store, carrying both card games, board games, comics, as well as mini figures. They have private gaming rooms one can reserve for parties willing to take adventures into the games theyre playing, they have snacks for those long games, And best of all, they allow outside food from restaurants and pizza places and even the welcome pizza delivery as well as Uber and DoorDash to name a few examples. while I frequent this establishment, I do have minor issues with the staff lounging about, however I cant complain too much because theyre also very handy and will always put the customer ahead of there breaks.
Lots of big tables for playing, and a ton of different games, dice, and miniatures, with even more in labeled totes. There was an entire room for comics as well, over a nice space. But the welcome we got was non existent - we wandered around for at least twenty minutes looking for the right miniatures, and still didnt get a single hello until we went to pay. This shop was recommended to us by a friend, and when we asked him about it, he said that others he told of Toledo Game Room got the same cold shoulder. Seems that you have to have an in to get any kind of acknowledgement.
My rating is mostly based on my amazement of the amount of stuff that they have here, I didnt buy anything or interact with the employees. That being said, if youre looking for tabletop games or miniatures you probably wont be disappointed. They had a lot of comics, but I didnt have time to flip through them all. Theres a few private rooms to play in and a lot of table space elsewhere. Theres a few rooms that I went into that I thought would have been for employees only, but there was just more stuff on display. If you come in make sure you have time to get a good look at everything.
Nice selection of games and gaming supplies. Largest selection of hobby game accessories I have seen in the area. Minis, paints, terrain, boardgames and comics. EDIT to add fifth star: The owner really takes the time to make sure the customer is taken care of. Always helpful and always a pleasure to talk with.
This place has every gamers needs. Drive 4.5 hours from Pennsylvania to visit. No conventions this year. So i needed some travel time and hobby atmosphere. Brought a friend who had never been to a convention. Was blown away by the assortment of Warhammer bits! Thank you . Worth a drive if your a gamer.
They have a great selection of board games as well as an exhaustive collection of Wathammer minis. There are rooms to reserve to meet with friends and to some table top role playing or join in on any game demos or tournaments they have going on. Also have a bunch of comic book back issues as well as new releases. Fun place!
First time here. The staff and owners were really friendly. They had several hundred table top games there. Dice, comic books, and places to play games with friends. We told the staff what games we liked and they pointed out about 30 games. The prices were decent. Good for a local place but you can find some stuff online cheaper but sometimes the personal experience is worth the extra cost.
The oldest game shop in Toledo for good reason. The staff is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. They carry a huge selection of games, dice and finishing supplies. Regular events are schedule for gamers of all experience levels and they have tons of free tables available for pick up games with your friends.
Today was my first visit to TGR and after walking through the entrance door, I was immediately greeted by a vast selection of all things game related. Tabletop games, trading card games, miniatures, rule/lore books, accessories and supplies(ex. protective card sleeves, card boxes, etc), its all here. Everything is well organized, clean, and the atmosphere is very chill. The clerk at the front counter was very helpful and informative when I asked them for information on TCG expansions. I even bought a few booster packs, a first for me in almost 20 years!I will definitely be back on my next trip down to Ohio!11/10
I regularly visit the Game Room not just for products they carry, but all the different things going on. Finding an activity is never very difficult, whether it relates to tabletop gaming, RPGs, or card games. The comics section is very large, though the newer releases can be a little cluttered.I have never had any problems with the staff and have been regularly visiting for a few years now. They are usually friendly and helpful. If you are looking for a place with a large selection of items, events, and activities, it is hard to beat the Game Room.
Great place to find unique stuff, as well as common stuff. They are EXPANDING too. Wife stopped in the other day for a birthday present, and found they had purchased the attached building next door. This place started small and they are doing a phenomenal job of keeping it going in an area that other small businesses seem to struggle. Kudos. And check this place out!
Probably best game store in the area. Dont expect the friendliest service. Its just not who they are. But if you go in with questions they will have answers and the owner will talk about most anything nerdy for longer than you probably want to but trust me its worth it. They have extensive board games as well as miniatures for warhammer and other mini games. They also have a massive comics area and events literally every week.
Best Game shop in NW Ohio, staff is friendly and knowledgeable, lots of variety in games, can accommodate approx 150 people playing various games in different areas. The customers are friendly and helpful to new players both young and old, you feel very welcome supporting a family run business thats been in business for a long time
They have so many comic its on real, they also have books all over the place with superheroes. They have board games, they have kits you can build. Theres just so much. All I could do in my first visit was basically look around and try to figure out what I want to get. They also have shows teaching you how to play the board games as well as building games. They were many people building small cities. It was pretty interesting. My grandson and I are going to go back to help him learn how to play certain board games
I go there mostly for paints & modeling / wargame stuff. Theyre a bit more expensive in that department than some other places (+ 25 cents or so), but they have a large selection and they keep everything stocked. They also have a good selection of comic books and RPG stuff. Staff are friendly.
Comics, RPGs, board games, cards, dice, figures, set building supplies. The were even tables to play on....I went in for about 10 bucks worth of card supplies. However, being the first time, I wandered around the store. There were rooms off rooms to explore, and a fairly wide selection of things I hadnt even heard of.When all was done I came out with about 70 bucks worth of stuff. Advice? Only take the cash you need for what you went for! (Previously posted under wrong email)
This is not a store to buy video games! This is an old school game shop. They have tabletop wargaming, RPGs (Dungeons & Dragons), card games and, board games. They have large rooms with tables set-up to play both small games and large-scale tournaments. They also have a wide selection of comic books and graphic novels.
This place is unbelievable. Im from out of town and visited on a Saturday. Its massive and had every game I could think of. I loved the boxes of on-sprue Warhammer parts, although there werent any Tau in stock for those. Huge walls of board games, card games, miniatures games, tons of tables to play, even smaller rooms for small parties. I wish I lived closer. The parking lot was busy, but the game room is so spacious, it didnt feel crowded. I will definitely visit again if Im in Toledo.
I’ve been going there for almost a decade now and it has been my favorite game store to visit out of the many I’ve gone to over the years. Nice staff, snacks to buy when you’re there for hours, the biggest variety of plastic bits to buy, and tons of room to just hangout and roll dice with friends.
Its a nice place to go if youre in the area. Depending on the gaming you are looking to play this may or may not be the place for you. Unsure of public dnd sessions.. killer mini selection and dice. Good choice in paints too. Large comic book section so bit of everything there. I dont live in Toledo so I was not able to stay long. Will update based on next visit and if I got more browsing time or not. The store sign out front along the road could be easily miss especially at night or if you have never been there before and dont know parking is in the back accessed by the side streets on either side of the shop.
Uncomfortable space for women. Often I will go in and recieve stares from other patrons and occasionally staff. Their gaming selection is mostly magic the gathering and Warhammer, they do have a good number of board games and RPGs. Their comic selection is designed for the single issue collector, where as I collect trades so it wasnt exactly what I would like to see, though I do appreciate their up-to-date and varied selection.
A large selection of comics but not as helpful as some other places I have been. I felt like I had to do a lot of extra prodding to get answers to things that should have been explained to customers. An example being that there is cardboard and plastic covers available to you for the comics you purchase, you have to do it yourself.
Best game store in the Toledo area. The sell Magic cards, miniature table top war games, Dungeons and Dragons and other RPG games, as well as board games, comics and more. Lots of space to set up and play games. Special events for games.Place to be if you want to get these types of games.
Great place that has a lot of people that come in for various events. I dont actually attend these events but they have a lot of good used books and new books. Also, tons of dice. Also, maybe I have only gone in for a few times when it wasnt bad, but I never noticed any smells.
Its a decent place for Card and Miniature BUYING no doubt there, but the support /customer service for is lacking severely Unless you deal directly with the owner or manager. The card playing area is an afterthought/icebox. The miniatures play area is very nice so its a mixed bag.
With a huge selection of new comics, as well as a fairly impressive set of comic book archives, this store without the games is already worth the time to check out. Add in the deep amount of tabletop, deck building games, TCG/CCG and more they stock and you have a store that speaks deeply to your inner geek. With Tabletops available to schedule for your own use, and plenty of regularly scheduled events, theres something for everyone, from Warhammer to Pokemon TCG. Great store
These guys show up to conventions with a ton of bins full of models and bits. Everything is usually priced pretty. Unless you need like 1 or 2 models to complete a unit, you are much better off buying new. It seems a few years back their prices were much better. In the last year or two it seems to have gotten much more expensive.
Ok. This place is a treasure trove of bits bins, has a ton of play space and comics, and quite a board game collection. On that, they would get 5 stars. The service sucks, if anyone is behind the register expect them to be wrapped up in a conversation and to ignore you until you interrupt. Make sure you know the prices, because they may charge you more than the tag.... Either through incompetence, inattention, or malice: I have no idea which. Unless you are a regular, expect to be made to feel like an outsider.
I have been going to the Game Room since before it moved from the Great Eastern Shopping Center (back then it was Great Eastern Comics). As a long time comic book reader and RPG player I have left and gone to other places but I always come back. The game room has easily the largest collection of warhammer products and quite a lot from other games. If i couldnt find it the owner has always been willing to order it, be it comics or gaming products.
Came to check out the MtG scene. This location seems to be more set up for Warhammer and comics. Not quite my cup of tea. The guys barely seemed interested in gaining me as a new customer, decided I would probably not come here for gaming. Sorry, but please be excited with new customers!
Nice owners one of the biggest shops ive been to. The downfall is mtg card prices are a lil steeper than other shops. Commons are .10 cents a piece, uncommomns.50 cents a piece. So nice place great cistomer service but have been to other shops that are a lot cheaper on individual cards.
I stopped in here a few weeks back with my children. From the minute we walked in, it felt like you were in a dungeon. It smelled terrible and it was extremely disorganized and dirty. All the 25+ year old males stared at my 13 year old daughter creepily. I was concerned for her well being. In the 5 minutes we were there, they didnt take their eyes off her. My son asked were the new Batman book was and the guy just pointed and said on the wall over there somewhere. Seriously? We looked for a few minutes and then had to leave because my eyes were watering because of the body oder smell. It smelled SO bad in there. TERRIBLE. Avoid this place.
Home of some of the worst shopping experiences of my life. Im not saying anything that hasnt been said already. The people are rude, the comics are disorganized, and everyone who works there (or pretends to) is more occupied with whatever is going on at the game tables than customers trying to sift their way through the clutter of the store. If youre a Warhammer person, youll put up with the faults of the shop. If you like comics, go somewhere else.
Very uninviting, very rude workers. Stood at the counter in front of the worker looking at his computer for 5 minutes before even being acknowledged. These people speak rudely, act rudely, and there are way better game shops in toledo that deserve your support than this hole.
Toledo game room sucks because of its owner! Especially when looking for parts and bits for 40k. He tells you he has mailed something it never arrives, he tells you that you were not charged for products they never arrive, he tells you he will check postal tracking, and will call you back, never does. I call to find out about these things, and am a little upset, Im told I am the problem and doesnt want to do business with me any more! Hmmm! Do we see who the problem is? Dont waist your time folks, there other way better services out there for this kind of thing.Part Deux, Hey Darrell stil havet received anything youre a LIAR!
Drove over 35 miles to get there for nothing. Went in their back door from the parking lot which was kind of creepy. There were no lights on in the comic book area. I wandered around for a little bit while the guy who worked there blabbed with somebody. I decided to leave and as Im almost out the back door, the guy yells, Can I help you, sir?. I replied, No, thanks. I can open the door all by myself!

2022-05-27If youre looking for a game store this is the place. The Toledo Game Room offers lots of room to play your favorite games inside the store. They also offer a huge selection of comic books. They offer a wonderful selection for x-wing, and D&D and so many other games. I highly recommend coming to The Toledo Game Room for all your gaming needs.

2022-09-01Great selection of comics, mtg singles and board games. Mostly solid customer service interactions, but there is a bit of a quirk on ordering singles, you have to order off their website, even in person.

2022-03-23While the store does have an online presence for sales, they need to do better in their communication about not pulling orders. Drove all the way there and they said that thier people that do that arent there that week so Ill need to wait. They said its posted in the store...but that doesnt help me before I walk in. Maybe take down your online ordering during that time since you cannot fulfill the orders. Just saying...dont have these problems with Checkmate Games or Old School Gaming.

2021-02-24TONS of comics here. Pokemon cards, dice, D&D supplies, paints, & more. Inside is a bit overwhelming as there are multiple rooms & areas inside that look to be designated for different things but theres no signs that I noticed so I just stay away lol.

2019-06-22When you need anything for your hobbies this is the place to go! They have everything you could ask for from comics, to board games, to warhammer, and even other miniatures. They also have tons and tons of room to host gaming events! And if you have time to spare they have boxes and boxes of miscellaneous miniatures to sort through.

2022-07-27Still the best place to come for gaming. Update: They have more stock then ever if that is possible. They have added more lighting. A new floor. Tore out the old front entrance and expanded the front of the store. The Game Room has gotten better over the last few years it will be hard for other stores to compete

2022-02-27One of the larger card shops in the Toledo area. Reasonable prices and events always going on. Great place to meet new friends for MTG or to pickup some new cards.

2021-03-07Huge selection of books, board games, dice, comics, books, and miniatures among other wares. Staff was very helpful and gave great recommendations. Theyve also got a lot of room to play games and interact with other patrons. I really appreciated their strictness when it came to the mask policy and social distancing guidelines for gaming. Being able to enjoy my favorite hobbies while still being safe feels great.

2022-01-17Always have loved coming to this place. Staff is friendly. Place is huge carrying s little of everything, from board games and card games, to tabletop miniatures. I try to order online from them since I dont live there anymore and intend to make it a routine stop in my visits to the Toledo area
