Ordered garage on May 31st. We were told 6-8 weeks for install. It is now Sept. 16th and still no building. They did call and schedule us for Sept. 6th but we were unavailable due to vacation. Now 15 weeks out and we keep getting random install dates. If no install date by the end of the month i guess we will be looking for another company!
We dont even want to give them a one star, but we cant post this review without giving them at least a one star. We signed with Ultimate Structures (Michele Cramer) in Washington, PA to have TOL Builders install a shed with two lean tos on July 20, 2021 with the understanding that as soon as our concrete pad was ready our shed would be installed within 4-6 weeks. Well, our home flooded (Hurricane IDA), on August 31, 2021 and it set us back getting the pad poured and ready for installation until September 17th. At that time, we informed Michele Cramer (and a lady at TOL Builders Heather), that it was ready. Heather at TOL Builders emailed us to send a picture to another lady at TOL, which we did. We never received a response from TOL. When we finally (after many days calling them) got someone on the phone and asked to speak with Heather, she informed us that Heather no longer worked there. We were put on hold for the Scheduler and after 40 minutes being on hold she came back on the line to tell me that the Scheduler was on another call and for me to call back. When we called Michele Cramer at Ultimate Structures and told her what was going on, she supposedly was able to speak with someone at TOL Builders and was told that TOL Builders would call the week before it was ready to be delivered. It is now October 17th, 2021 and we still cant get TOL Builders to answer the phones, mail boxes are full, cant leave a message and they wont answer emails. We are sending a letter to the BBB of Pennsylvania and also to the Attorney Generals Office for Consumer Affairs. Both Ultimate Structures and TOL Builders will be mentioned for very bad customer service. Just for the record, when you are reading the reviews, did you notice TOL Builders only answered the very, very few positive reviews they received?
I ordered building April 2021 finished slab June 10 2021. It is now Sept 27th and cant even get anyone to talk to me. Terrible spent all day trying to contact them. Finally got someone and they put me on hold for 45min and never came back to me. Dont get from elba they use these guys for install. They wont install. They have my deposit and I cant even get ahold of anyone to get my deposit back.
I have put my order in May of 2021 and I have been on waiting list for more then 2 month for the schedule department call me. I have call them about 3 dozen time more nobody pick the phone and the voicemail or they dont call back. If you are thinking ordering structure from guys please dont or save your money. I had to get permit and pay for engineer drawing.
If I could give a zero it would still be too high. We ordered a large carport 9/1/2021. We were told it would be 8 to10 weeks. We tried and tried to get in contact with representatives of this company and we received no responses. The absolute worst customer service ever!!!!!!!!!!!
I bought a shed on September 9th was guaranteed to be set up within 4 weeks never got setup till December 21st 2020 was up just over 60 days and collapsed there was snow on it but was cleaned off several times and it collapsed I have one right next to it that I have had for 5 years and is still up and fine. I called the company and they arent doing anything for me. Only thing they will do is certify a new building if I buy one! Wouldnt use this company!!!
I had an 18x30 steel building installed with a 12x8 rollup garage door. The installers installed a 12x10 rollup instead of 12x8.Opening is now 7 feet instead of 8 because they mounted it too low..They used small self tapping screws instead of the bolts the door mfg provided. The door is not level and the chain assembly was installed upside down.There is a 1 inch gap on the right side of door and the left side is accordioned in the channel.Stay away from TOL. I bought the building from Big Buildings Direct. TOL DID THE INSTALL. Numerous calls and they continue to say they will send someone out to fix it because it is unsafe. This was installed December 2020
So disorganized and dont have a clue whats going on. Was told in January I would have it delivered not installed in 6 to 8 weeks know its June. Got a call a few days ago to verify address and told it would be delivered on June 3rd so took the day off now they say it will be the week of the 7th sometime.OMG How does this place stay in business, maybe people should start filing complaints and lawsuits. Will never buy here again. 😒
STAY AWAY!!! Read all the one star reviews and believe them. Ordered in February 2021 and still do not have my carport on September 2, 2021. Have heard every excuse you can imagine. Also avoid A Plus Carports. They are the same company.
Dealer Support is non-existence. I signed up with this company, I had Signage (banner and Coreplast), Dealer Notebook, literature, and was able to quote and submit deals with their software. Angelo, their sale representative told us to submit drawings for demos, completed, was told we were approved for demos. Then nothing happened, no response from Angelo or company. Each time we contacted TOL buildings, we got no answers and run-around. Then we were told we were not a dealer. If I am treated with such disrespect, how can i represent your company or product. I will not subject my customers to this lack of respect. Your signage, brochures, etc, will find itself in the trash.Through research I have found that this company has changed its name to get away from bad reviews. You may be able to change your name, trying changing your work ethic and become a better company.Zero Stars from me.
I ordered a building and two months later they came to install it and said it was too unlevel. It was off 8 inches. The workers said it was to hard of work. They took it back and now are wanting to charge a re-stocking fee of $530 (10%) which they did not give the option to drop the building. The only way to get them to come back is to pay the fee.
Completed building design online waited few days no response call in talked with Anthony in sales several times says he will update quote and get it right over after we hand up. I am still waiting been a week since I built the building online
It’s been 8weeks and still no building. Was supposed to be installed on 12-21-20 and when I called to confirm, to my surprise they are closed until 01-04-21. No communication to let me know anything. Very unprofessional. Also, when you call, the message says if you require assistance press 1, then it hangs up! Terrible customer service. Should have read some reviews first!
I bought a building from this guys and they really know what they are talking about, they answered so many questions and educated me and my wife to take the best building for our needs. When we called we really didnt know what we wanted but when we came to the lot and talked to the sales guy we were really pleased how easy the process was and how many options you have to choose from. Bottom line is that we had a very very good experience and my dad and my 2 brothers are definitely getting a building from this guys, we placed the order on a Wednesday and it got installed a week later and the guys were very professional and patient with us. I recommend this company 100% and this is going to be our go to store for all of our buildings.
I called plenty of time in advance and TOL told me an install week not a day. They told me they would call 24 hours before the install. I finally got a call on a Wednesday and was told the installer would there on Thursday. I had to take off of work and waited all day just to get a phone call saying hes not coming. Then they tell me its gonna be next Monday so now I have to take another day off of work for them not holding up their end.
Terrible experience! They do not deserve the 1 star!! Waited 7 months for a building. Ordered in August and they delivered the wrong building after twice the quoted lead time. New order was to be delivered last 3 weeks but they never show up. Customer Service team clueless. Many days lost waiting for them to come. Do yourself a favor and buy a building from another company. Pathetic!!
Run from this place as fast as you can. Their customer service is poor to say it best. Cant get ahold of anyone always in meetings or voice mail Ill see if my state attorney general has better luck.
I am a dealer for these buildings and I cant even get ahold of them!! Sold a building in April this year and customer still has not received building!! At this point I will not sell another. Building cus they r giving me a bad name!!
This is not a customer service business that you would want to do business with. They do not operate on a professional basis in any way. Have tried to talk to a regional manager for 4 days and no return telephone calls or email. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!
Building leaks water. We understand not air tight but should be water tight. Won’t return calls. Service door doesn’t work correctly either.
When you have an issue you cannot get anyone to answer the phone. When they are looking for payment the lines are open and very prompt. Tried for quite some time to get a problem resolved, and basically you paid us, now its your problem.
Terrible service top to bottom been 5 months and still haven’t got building repaired after very poor install. Every panel is damaged or scratched from installers, very poor customer service team blamed me for not supervising the crew while install was taking place nor do they want to or act as if they intend to make it right.
Promise one thing even give you a written agreement but when they show up they demand more. When you refuse to pay the extra they keep your deposit. Do yourself a favor call someone else! Unless of course you like donating money to people that flat out lie.
Terrible! They are rude! They will not commit to a delivery date. They do not care about customer service. Trying to get our money back. Buyer Beware!
We were promised a set of time of 8 to 12 weeks. Its now 15 weeks and there is no install scheduled.
Customer service is not very good still waiting on my building which in turn is affecting my business placed my order in may and still not here and every time you call you get a round around of excuses if I did that for my business I wouldnt be in business

Husband sent for a quote on a building and we have never had any response. I sent them a text yesterday and again no response. Not sure if I want to deal with them now.

2022-01-17Purchased a 28’X32’ building, contract specified 3 overhead doors. Building was framed for three door but only 2 doors were installed. The contract specifically stated 3 doors and they were paid for 3 doors. They got the money but I didn’t get the completed building.Try to get someone to answer a phone over there is impossible, I have been calling for weeks. Now I have a building with a big hole in it. I cannot use it as the temperature was 3 degrees the past 2 nights with snow.Big buildings Direct was the company that sourced the building to TOL, they answer the phone and emails but will not make good on anything either. They just point the finger at TOL so they are complicit in the crime as far as I’m concerned. I have sent them several emails outlining how easy this is to correct but have never received. a response.So this is a warning do not purchase a Building or carport from Big Buildings Direct or Top of the Line Buildings (TOL) the do not honor their contracts or stand behind what they say.BobRochester,Ma

2022-02-01My husband and I wanted to use a small local company for our carport so we decided to give PA Aluminum our business. Ok if you want to never contact them after the initial order. They are only a retailer for the larger company Top of the Line buildings (TOL) . I had ordered a carport in April, after waiting the “Covid wait” it was installed in August and still to this day (12/6/21) trying to get my issue resolved after numerous calls and emails with both PA Aluminum and TOL.What’s the issue?? When I called to confirm the order at TOL, the lady informed me that I did not need the extra anchors PA Aluminum suggested, in fact there wasn’t even enough room for them to be placed. Later to find out PA Aluminum takes your deposit as their portion so makes sense why they wanted to increase the initial quote to increase their profits.Well, the installers canceled a few times. Finally showed up at 6am on a Sunday. No big deal- they showed up finally. BUT THEY DID NOT HAVE WHAT WE ORDERED AND WAITED WEEKS FOR!!! They said the trim that was ordered was not for that type of frame. I don’t know what goes with what- I was only given the option to pick a color. Not only that the installers set up the frame THINKING it ran one way but in fact ran the other way. So they did NOT read the work orders. Customer’s problem again apparently. So now I paid and waited for a brand new carport that is not what I initially ordered and the frame has drill holes in it!!! I’m sick of the excuses- I want a resolution!BUYER BEWARE!!! They are not recommended by Better Business Bureau. I wish I did more research. Bottom line - FIND ANOTHER COMPANY!!1/11/22 - still no resolution or able to speak with a person at sTOL.2/1/22- no one willl return my calls. They have stopped responding to my emails and Facebook messages. I am told I need to talk to Sabrina but she has yet to return my calls.

2022-01-04Put on hold for over 45 minutes , then call hangs up. No way to get hold of them . Ordered my garage 2nd week of June 2021 & its Oct 18 , 2021 & cant get ahold of anyone ! Not a customer friendly Business . Tried calling 3 times same result . Did get my garage on November 11 . 5 pieces of trim missing , no trim around door & 2 corners missing . The trim on the front right of picture is facia trim not corner trim . Its January 2022 , still no trim

2021-10-26WORST SERVICE EVER....THEY WILL NOT RETURN YOUR CALLS. I TOOK A WEEK OFF VACATION TO GET MY BUILDING INSTALLED IT WAS SCHEDULED FOR THAT WEEK. THEY THEN CANCELED. WERE RUDE ON THE PHONE. WHEN MY BUILDING DID SHOW UP. THE INSTALLATION CREW WAS DRINKING. DID NOT SEAL MY RIDGE CAP CORRECTLY MY BUILDING LEAKS IN MULTIPLE SPOTS. I HAVE CALLED THEM MULTIPLE TIMES THEY WILL NOT HELP ME. IT HAS BEEN LEAKING FOR A FEW MONTHS SO TODAY I HAD TO SEAL THE RIDGE CAP MYSELF WITH MY TIME AND MONEY FOR MATERIALS. THEY STILL HAVE NOT CONTACTED ME ABOUT A REPAIR TIME. BUT THEY HAD NO PROBLEM CASHING MY CHECK FOR A SLOPPY INSTALLATION. THE INSTALLATION CREW FILLED MY GARBAGE CAN WITH BEER BOTTLES AND METAL FROM MY INSTALLATION AND INSTALLATION FROM OTHER JOBS. THEY SHOULD DEFINITELY REIMBURSE ME FOR THE REPAIR I HAD TO DO ON A BRAND NEW BUILDING. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY VERY UNPROFESSIONAL.UPDATE...10.26.21STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED A CALL FROM MANAGEMENT REGARDING GETTING ANY REIMBURSEMENT FROM ME DOING THE REPAIR TO MY BUILDING TO KEEP IT FROM LEAKING WHEN IT RAINS. 2019-10-05Great product , easy people to work with and very fast. They came out we went over what I wanted ( which they had to custom build ) and I had a 24ft x 20 custom carport built on sight not even 2 weeks later. There install team was very friendly and fast was done clean up and all in 4hrs. The best part they where about $500 cheaper than the next Best quote. I would 100% recommend them.No more cleaning snow and ice off cars at 5am for this guy! Sincerely.... Dave in Beaver county PA .

2019-09-26We purchased a building 9/16/2019 from a local dealer in Pittsburgh, PA. We went to 5 different places trying to buy this building and hopefully get it installed before the winter, every single place we went to kept saying it wasnt guaranteed until spring, SPRING!!! its FALL. We just couldnt believe it, we searched for local manufacturers and TOL Buildings showed up on Google and we called them to ask if they would install our garage before the winter and they said, No problem sir, our lead time is 1-3 weeks guaranteed we asked if they had a dealer in our area because we didnt want to place the order or do business over the phone because of all the scams that Im sure everyone has heard of, but they said that they do not sell direct to customers and even if we wanted to place the order directly we couldnt because they are loyal to their dealers. We went to a dealer called Dream Machines, we talked to Jerry and he was very nice and knowledgeable about the products, as we were there with him he received 3 phone calls from happy customers that had just been installed a couple of days before. We asked if he was sure that we were going to get our building before snow time and he said that if we didnt have the building installed in less than 4 weeks that he was going to wave his commission of $2,800 for the inconvenience. We placed the order and the very next day the office called to confirm the order with us and asked if we were ready for installation the following week, we were very surprised and I said of course I am ready, Ive been ready for 2 months lol. The installers showed up yesterday for installation and I cannot express how beautiful our building is. We highly recommend this company and trust me, you will not regret giving this guys your business.

2021-10-18I purchased a building in April 2021 It was the worst choice I made in many years . They took my order and deposit, thats when correspondence stopped. I called, I sent text and emails to get date to install my building with no response. I finally tracked the company down in Youngstown and canceled my order Unfortunately I lost a $1,000 bucks in the process. Do not do business with the company because you will be very disappointed. I guess overall it was worth the money to fire this company. I now have a great looking 24 x 40 wooden woodshop for less money than the steel one.

2021-09-07I had several buildings built in the past. This is by far the worst builder I’ve ever dealt with. It took them 4 months to finally deliver the building when we were told it would take 4-6 weeks. Cheap materials used and an incomplete install. Still missing lock hardware for both roll up doors and one roll up door was damaged and needed repaired. They said they would be back to complete it and fix door in several days but has been two weeks and still not completed or fixed. I can not even close the one side of the building right now. When you finally get customer service on the phone they give you the run around! You are better off spending more money and hiring a local builder!

2022-02-16I wish I had read these reviews before I purchased my carport, I wouldnt have done it, so if youre thinking about it-DONT. They subcontract the installation to crews who travel around the country putting them up as quickly as possible. They dragged, dropped and kicked the materials, the roof panels were kinked and forced in to position, screws carelessly installed sometimes missing the cross member and overhang is uneven by inches and too much to support snow load. The mobile home anchors not installed because their tool broke so they put in straight pins, screws on the ground under the carport and in my driveway and they even left a hole in the roof from a screw that didnt catch anything. After a week attempting to contact them, I have not received a response.

2021-08-28So we ordered a pole barn back in May. They assured us 4-6 weeks and they were the fastest in the business! I called again in the end of July, and she assured me I was next on the list and it would be within 2 weeks. It’s a few days away from September and I’ve called several times over the last couple days and mostly put on hold for a voicemail that is full and we can’t even leave a message. I finally spoke to a lady named Jennifer who did confirm we aren’t even on the schedule yet and she promised to get back with me after she spoke to the manager but yet, I still know nothing further as I have NOT heard back from her, and again, can’t reach a person when I call. I really wanted this building but I guess my only recourse is to get my down payment back and move on with another company. That will be my priority first thing Monday morning. Bummed..DIANE P.
