I’ve been a big fan of Tela since they opened. I live 40 minutes away, but it’s worth the drive. There’s always something interesting going on with the menu (one night it was a dessert that featured Fruity Pebbles cereal...it was a fun delicious finish to a great meal). I love the atmosphere, especially the lighting. And the staff is friendly and attentive, without being overbearing. I really appreciate that. They have a nice selection of beers, and their version of poutine is a hit with my family. I can’t wait to go back!
Excellent Gastro Pub offering artisan type, from scratch dishes. Atmosphere is excellent and non typical. We had the pretzels with beer cheese that also came with an insane roasted garlic and caramel dipping sauce. I had the blue cheese wedge and my wife had the chicken salad sandwich. Both great meals.
This is a great bar for having lunch and good drinks. They havent a large beer selection but good ones. The old fashion cocktail they have is awesome and the barman is truly a barman you can notice the passion he put in his job, is something that you wanna see when coming to bars!
Went here for $5 burger week but well be back. Rustic/trendy decor with a friendly staff. Food was out to us quick. You have to try the Pretzel Stixx for an app, they give garlic caramel sauce to dip in and its amazing. Fries were also tremendous. I believe the burger was special for the week I went but the burger meat itself was seasoned well and treated great. They are also accommodating to small children.
Had not been here in a few years but stopped in for dinner last week and loved it. The food and cocktails were excellent and the service was just as good. We will definitely be back. My daughter and I had the Shrimp and Grits... so delicious. Oh and the pretzel bites with caramel garlic sauce are amazing.
This is an alright place. The food is amazing and the waitress we had was amazing. It seemed like she was the only server there besides the cook in the back and bartender, who were also incredibly busy. I did see another person, a manager I suppose, not busy at all. When we walked in, he greeted us with a terrible attitude, super unfriendly. He did a lot of standing around and disappearing. Never saw him with a plate in his hand, like he was serving nor cleaning up. This left a sour taste in my mouth for the possible management of this place.Be ready to pay a lot for this place. Prices are high but its understandable when mostly everything is from scratch.
Came to try the Burger week specialty...regular and veggie options. I had the veggie option which was ok but the patty completely fell apart after the first bite and finished with a fork. The flavor was ok, happy not bland but would liked more spice. The atmosphere was great and felt like a typical gastropub. It was a busy night but was seated promptly. They have a decent selections of beers, wine, and spirits. Great service and attention.
Chic atmosphere and hearty food. The burger is one of my favorites in town. Plus it is great destination for an evening walk in Wyoming for a drink. In the summer, the open garage doors and patio are a real treat. We watched the Wyoming High School State Championship here with about 100 or so of our neighbors and friends. It was a crazy fun place to watch that game.
We were 1st timers on a busy Saturday night. Table near the entrance? Cold night 🌙 had to eat with my coat on. No vegetarian options besides salads and potatoes. Long wait for food table of 4. Mostly ordered salads soups fries. Fries and soup came out warm to cool not hot. Uuugh. Seats were uncomfortable. Not my thing.
Finally made it over here. We sat outside on a beautiful night. Wasnt humid. They were busy but not packed. Several parties were leaving as we arived.. we try and plan it that way. Took a few minutes to be seated.. waitress was great. Doing her best to talk through a mask. Hand signals worked out for us. The food was great.. wife had a burger I had the short rib Mac and cheese.. I got a smaller piece of rib.. but it was late in the evening.. but to be fair I make this dish myself and then compare it to others. Mine would cost you probably $87.. so its not exactly fair.. something about their meat was different.. almost like it was deep fried.. it was crispy on the outside.. Mac was tasty.. creamy.. and even used the same style pasta we use. Definitely be back soon and recommend you check them out.
Stopped in for a date lunch and it was very good. Great craft cocktail and draft beer selection. Had the beer cheese and garlic Carmel sauce with pretzels and the meal started off great. We both had the Royale burger and fries and it was the best Ive had in a long time. Looking forward to coming back for dinner!
Too many inexperienced waitresses and servers . The cooks are not able to time up a party of 3 or 4 foods to come out at the same time and all be hot. Usually at least one person gets cold food. They will let your food sit underneath a hot lamp for however long it takes for the rest of the food to be ready.
While the restaurant is a little loud making it a little challenging to hold a conversation, their food is delicious. I highly recommend their burgers. Theyre juicy and delicious and the buns are perfectly toasted. I also had a side of green beans and they were honestly some of the best Ive ever had.
Good people good food good place to eat. I recommend a Buffalo Bill. Its delicious chicken cutlet with homemade buffalo sauce Grilled onions andRoasted red tomatoesI highly recommend it was really good. And the wait staff does a really good job.All in all I would recommend this place to anyone who likes good food.
Called in an order and arrived before it was ready. Saw the container get put into the bag and the bag set at the drive thru window. Walked back to the car and dug in - food tasted good, but my fries were cold. The serving was substantial, too, so I guess all the old, cold fries were dumped into my order to get rid of them.
The French rose was perfect! I had the panzanella salad with salmon. The salmon was perfectly cooked & the salad lightly dressed. My husband had the Adobo Chicken. It was so flavorful & nicely spiced. He also had a salad which looked great. Would like to return for seconds.
Michael was an AMAZING waiter, young, friendly, and on his game even when I was a bit of a Karen over cold fries, and we tipped him accordingly. However, the kitchen staff was moving at turtle speed. However the food was really good and the pretzels and dips are yummy!
I have now eaten here like four or five more times and every other one has been amazing. No issues with food flavors, with execution of meat temp, and great sides. Happy to give them five stars, because theyve earned it.The multibeast Burger was not very good. The chorizo Patty was way too greasy, the burger was completely undercooked, and the flavours never really complemented each other. Like goat cheese is a great flavor with the taste of beef, but the grease from the trees overpowered it, and it didnt feel very well composed. It was stupid expensive to get a side salad, like instead of fries I had to basically pay for a whole side salad and just not get prizes well. My girlfriend did enjoy the muscles in the champagne sauce, but they werent any better than any of the other place you can get muscles in the city, so they get three stars for doing one dish well.
I really like this place. Casual but not too casual. Busy but not too busy. The bar area is great to have a drink, wait for a table or have your meal at the bar. The outdoor dining is great but even if you arent outside you feel outside with the garage door open. The food is well done. I really like the drunken mussels - the best around. I may be biased because I live in the neighborhood but I its one of my favorites in all of town.
Really wanted to like this more than I did. Ive been twice in three days. First day had the pork two ways. Pork belly was good, but the chop was dry and flavorless. Second chance had the Steak Frites. Meat was cooked perfectly, but again had no flavor and was topped with a weird gravy (red wine I think, but just strange). Both times I tried the wings (different kind each time) and while they were fine, there was nothing really special about either kind. The atmosphere is fun and I love the decor, but it is really loud, and dont get a table neat the garage door, because the sun will blind you.Service: Wait staff was great. Attentive and helpful. But, we waited so long for our appetizers that by the time they came the mains were almost on the table.Really, the beat thing about it for me is the great selection of beers on tap. Next time I think Ill just sit at the bar and have an app. Hoping that in the next few months things get better and hope to make it a regular.
Id never been before but this place is a must go. Michael was the bartender and he was awesome. It was a very cool vibe inside and he was a great bartender. I definitely recommend the old fashioned. By far one of the best old fashioneds that Ive had. Ask him about his magic tricks too! Will definitely be back.
I call this marvelous restaurant every couple of days since I enjoy the special atmosphere that is unique to this place. The team is awfuly cordial and professional. The service is very fast. Needless to say, the food you eat is magnificent. I came often and I was always joyful. The payment is fair. I highly recommend this restaurant to all my friends.
We came to celebrate my birthday with a Sunday brunch and it was just perfect! I love corned beef hash and this restaurant elevated it even more. My husband loved the pork and grits. He even said that, next time we come, he will have a hard time trying any of the other items on the menu that sound good because he knows how good the pork and grits are! Our server, Damien, was very courteous and attentive. He gave us suggestions based on our responses and not based on a script. The only suggestion I would make is that it was snowing outside yet the fans inside were on full blast. Other than that, every aspect of our visit was great!!
This restaurant is amazing, the food is awesome, their burgers are big and thick and their mixed drinks are to die for! This is the only restaurant Ive found that has poutine! The interior is very stylish and cool, I love the dark colors and industrial feel and it made me feel right at home.
My wife and I had a wonderful meal at Tela. Everything–from the service, to the atmosphere, to the food–was spot on. The Cubano sandwich I got was one of the few in the area that looks and tastes authentic. The hand cut fries that came with it were awesome as well. This will definitely be a spot well come back to multiple times!
Overall, was OK. Service was good for our group lunch. My salad was good, but ingredients didnt match with what was listed on the menu (disappointing); no salt and pepper on the table either. Server refilled my drink 1x, but never offered to refill after. Wont rush back to eat there again.
My friends threw me a very nice Birthday dinner party here. The pretzel appetizers are pricey but very tasty. For dinner I had a burger which was out of this world! They let us bring in our own dessert birthday cupcakes which was so nice! And best of all, I had a drink on the house! Great place.
Very nice restaurant. Very good food, acceptable prices for the quantity and quality. Nice look and feel inside the shop as well. The servers are very friendly, and happy to help. The only con I can think of is that being as fancy as it seems, sometimes they can be slow if they get the littlest busy.Lunch menu is something like 10 items total. Great if there is something you like, they specialize in that stuff, but obviously not good if you cant find what you want.
My favorite restaurant on that side of town. The brisket Mac and cheese is my favorite. The poutine is the best appetizer in my opinion as well. Service is always great and my husband is generally pleased with what they have on tap (he is a local craft beer snob). We go there probably once every other month, which is a lot considering that we live on the east side.
Stopped in for a lunch date on a Friday at 12:30 and the place was dead! Like 3 other tables total, but I suspected that was largely due to the major road construction out front scaring customers away...the atmosphere looks fun and trendy and I’d like to experience it with a full dinner crowd...food is good and good quality, service was excellent... but food was nothing special, nothing to come back for.
For the first time eating at this establishment, about 30 family and friends celebrated my husbands birthday on July 28th! The service and food were a hit; no better yet Amazingly GREAT! I highly recommend this restaurant as a definitely go to place to eat; I would consider it now as one of favorite places to dine 😁
Quick stop for Cincinnati Burger Week dinner. Our server was incredibly helpful. Burger was tasty. Yummy fries. Appreciated the real heirloom tomatoes in the Caprese salad. I will definitely be back to try more foods from their menu that has monthly offerings. Might bump the stars up to 5 after having a complete dining experience.
I have found the place to be comfortable, but noisy and the dim lighting is bothersome when trying to read the menu. I am not the only one who finds the menu difficult to read as our server said that many people pull out a flashlight to read the menu. I have had hit or miss luck with the consistency of quality of food. I am hoping as they reach their stride the consistency will even out. Menu has good options.
Fantastic eats and atmosphere!!! This place is a find. If you want the kind of thoughtfully, playfully planned eats and eatery you are used to finding in OTR without the crazy crowds and challenging parking, look no further. The menu is surprising and delightful. The food is rich, flavorful, delicious and interesting. The drink menu is satisfying as well. The decor is a good mix of industrial/artsy and warm/homey. The service is excellent. Critics love it and its not hard to see why. Our visit was wonderful and we plan to return. Definitely check it out!!
I absolutely LOVE the atmosphere in here. Ive only been to brunch and it was pretty good, but I hear that dinner is amazing and better to go to. The only thing I didnt care for on my plate at brunch was the pickled breakfast potatoes. I hear most people like them so maybe my taste buds were just having an off day. Instagram @EATPLAYCINCY for more cincy reviews and favorites.
So I love supporting and eating local. So I was excited to give Tela a shot tonight, as it was my last night in Cincy for a while.First its a cute place with plenty of dining/bar seating. Decent parking ava.As I walk in I notice the restaurant is maybe at 50% seated with no wait (Wed @ 7pm).I immediately sit outside and my waiter (joe) comes up and provides a large bottle of water. After looking over the menu I decided to go for 2 of their signatures the (Poutine and The Multibeast). Now my expectation if you have 2 signature type dishes they should be perfect every time, otherwise whats the point??First the Poutine! Imo the star of this dish is the sunny side up egg. Everything tasted fine but the egg was way overcooked and was closer to fried vs sunny side up.Next my burger. When I was ordering Joe specifically asked if some pink was ok. I responded with Id like it medium ( so quite a bit of pink)...Needless to say my burger was Well done with no sign of pink at all. Now while not my favorite Ill deal with a well done burger if thats all thats ava, but YOURE a GASTROPUB! Its not that hard to not overcook a burgerNow the kicker, remember I said they werent that busy; maybe 50% capacity? Well it took close to 45min to get my food. Well at least the mystery is solved on why it was overcooked.Lastly when I showed how my burger he apologized and offered to have it made again. Come on it just took 45 min to get it why do I want to wait another 45 mins? When I get my check no apology, no discount or comp for a burger I didnt even eat half of and NO MANAGER to apologize for the long wait or overcooked food.....Needless to say I am highly disappointed. I know the importance of great service and great food for a small local. Joe was kind enough but got to make it right, could have saved the whole experience....
Fantastic restaurant with very good burger menu. Fresh ingredients and creative pairings with rustic interior make this a fantastic local favorite and destination restaurant. A little bit on the pricey side but for the quality of food you get I think it is fair and reasonable.
The staff is fantastic, never had anything shy of great service. It’s our favorite place to eat. We are working our way through the menu and so far everything has been absolutely fantastic, we’re about 75% through trying everything. If you’re even contemplating eating here do yourself the favor and stop in, you won’t regret it.
My wife and I loved it. She enjoyed her oyster po boy. The highlight for me was the Royale with cheese. When I saw it on the menu, I immediately thought of Pulp Fiction. The burger itself didnt disappoint. Flavorful, cooked to perfection, and topped with great quality bacon. Id recommend this establishment to anyone.
I went to Tela last night as a part of their $5 Burger special. I had never been and went on high recommendation from friends that I have who live in Wyoming. All of my life I have asked for cheese to not be on my burger. That has never been a problem anywhere I went. Last night I requested for my cheese to not be on the burger, and the waitress infringed me that they dont do any substitutions on the $5 Burger because of the high demand for it. Anything else at full price on the menu could have the Cheese left off though. Keep in mind that at this time, at 9 p.m., the restaurant was nowhere near full. So I look at her and I say that I dont want any substitutions, I simply want the cheese to not be put on. She informs me that they cant do that and that shes just the messenger, and it isnt her decision. So I think about it for a second, then realize that for the first time in my life, Ill be asking for the manager. she says she doesnt think it will help but she will get him. So he saunters over and says that they usually dont make concessions, because the cheese adds so much flavor to the Burger, but they will in my case. I couldnt give a rats ass about the cheesy flavor. Not even from inexperienced, juvenile workers from McDonalds or other fast food restaurants of the like have I received such terrible service. I will not ever be returning to this establishment and I implore you to support other businesses that have common sense policies in place.
I would say the ambiance was my favorite part of this spot. Dreamy and low lit. The food was okay..I had the Cubano which was fairly standard. Not too big, could have used a little more meat. Giving 4 stars because they didnt have a changing table in the bath for my daughter so I had to change her in the car mid-meal.
The atmosphere was very rich and rustic chic, the patrons were enjoying their dinner at this little eatery. The food is prepared just for you and with care and dedication. I enjoyed the Cemita however I felt the place was a little over priced for what you get and if you are looking for a meal that fills you up- I would stick with The Multibeast.
This was our first time here. What we realized is this is a place you come to for drinks and something to eat NOT a place you come to to eat and have drinks. This, in my opinion, is more of a social spot, a place for get togethers with friends and/ or family for drinks, laughter and a bite to eat.
Very trendy and fun place. The food is excellent! Drink options are plenty. I hate the chairs though... not very comfy for big hips. Haha... but that wouldn’t completely hold me back from going. I just wouldn’t go if it was going to be a long night of conversation among friends.
My wife and I tried the poutine, the Reuben, and short rib mac and cheese. The poutine was great. Very filling and tasty! They top the gravy/cheese curds with a fried egg and gravy. The Rueben might have been the best Ive had in Cincinnati. It was a combination of tangy flavor and meatyThe short rib mac and cheese was the best restaurant mac and cheese in the area.Honestly one of the best dining experience Ive had in a long time!
Excellent place for lunch, especially on a nice day out on the patio. Had the Boulder Mojo IPA on nitro (first IPA Ive had on nitro) and the Short Rib Mac n Cheese. Both were fantastic. The service was excellent as well, never missing a chance to prebus our table or provide us with whatever we needed. I will absolutely return.
Service... or lack there of really is the reason why i dont mark it 5 stars. Really good food. So i come in for brunch today and my son and i are iterally the only custumers they have in the place. We order our food. From where i sit, i can see our food prepped and ready to be delivered once complete. Then i get to watch as the food sits there for 15-20 mins. Then when we are finished with the meal and waiting to see our ever absent server to come back. i get to see one server giving an all too sexual massage to a female server at the bar and 3 others congregating around the other corner of the restaurant. The guy giving the massage saw me staring angrily and called over to my server. Thats how i finally got my check.
Great atmosphere. Couples on both sides of us very friendly and engaging. We had the “house board” to start, lots of flavor. I had the Multibeast. It was very good. Could have used some more “kick” to it. (May just be a personal taste). My wife had the Chivito. It was made with 72 hour brisket. She said it was delicious. Finished with home made Gelato. Yum! Very good selection of Beer and Wine. Will definitely go back.
I love my friends, this place? Not so much.Average hamburger and greasy fries. Service good this time. And expensive, $15 for a bad burger and fries?Previous visitMediocre food and I got bad service, Im not saying the service is bad, but my service was extremely s l o w
Dont bother if youre going for Ohio Beef Council sponsored Cincinnati Burger Week! Please dont participate next year if you dont want to serve a quality burger that you are proud of. The 5oz pattie of beef turns out to be a 2 oz burned crisp. The best part of this burger was the pickle. Dont order fries theyre limp and soggy with fat. Is there a chef in the kitchen who knows frying oil temperature? On a good note the lemon cheese cake was special.
My wife and I went for burger week.....had to ask if they were doing burger week...at that point the waitress showed little or no interest in waiting on us....if you dont want to do burger week then dont.......took forever to order...I looked at menu all no side orders listed that I could see....waitress took our order and then took for granted I wanted only one order of fries...guess she knew better than I....she left out order under heat lamps for 5 min as she cleaned tables...she had only one other table besides ours.....burger was AWFUL ...SO SMALL IT WAS SAD AND THE BUN WAS 6 TIMES THICKER AND BIGGER THAT THE PATTY...AGAIN IF YOU DONT WANT TO PARTICIPATE IN BURGER WEEK DONT...plate of Fryes was the best part but it was definitely a single order....finally had to ask for a burger week passport to see what we had.....I have gone to every burger week any many restaurants that have participated.....I really enjoyed all of them until today...is this what burger work has come too? Will never go to this place again

2022-06-25Tried Tēla today for the first time and was disappointed. My boyfriend ordered a burger and fries and I ordered a Buddha bowl for $17 and added chicken for $4. The burger and fries were really good! My Buddha bowl was pretty good, but the chicken was so incredibly dry that I didnt eat it.Our server dropped our food off and didnt come back until she brought us the check. That was when I was able to let her know the chicken was so dry it tasted like turkey. She apologized, and offered to have a new chicken breast made for me, but by this point we had already eaten and were ready to go. There was never an offer of a refund for the visibly dry chicken I hadnt eaten and even left on my plate after I boxed up my left overs to take home. It was only $4, but it just felt kind of icky and disappointing.Well skip Tēla next time.

2022-01-01Had a great time here, intimate bar table outside. Nice atmosphere, server was such a sweetie. The outside patio was covered with heat lamps, so cozy. Ordered some cowboy wings and brussel sprouts, both amazing 😋. Will have to go again soon!

2022-07-21Food = 3/5Service =4/5Atmosphere = 5/5The atmosphere was great and the presentation of the food was well done. However, the food took quite a long time to make it to the table and the chicken sandwich and burger were both dry and bland (until I dumped their spicy honey on it which is a very good sauce).Overall, I was disappointed with the experience. That being said, I probably will go back to taste their short rib mac and cheese which sounds delicious.

2022-04-23Very professional staff. Bartenders are very good at what they do. Pretty much every sauce and dressing is made in house. All very delicious. Service still the highlight, though the food is always great. Was good to bring toddler. Their mac and cheese is great portion.

2022-04-17Had a great time with friends here. The service was outstanding. Our drinks and apps were great. My issue was with the fish and chips. The color of the fish indicated fryer oil was dirty. While I ate it and did not complain at the time it was disappointing. The color indicated the fryer oil needed to be changed and consequently it had a burnt taste. Overall I would give them another try because the atmosphere and the service were great making for an enjoyable evening by all.

2022-06-21Just visited Tela for the first time for lunch, and was pleasantly surprised. If your traveling down the 75 its a little off the route but worth it if your looking for a unique local spot. I went with a group of 9, and they easily accommodated us with great food, and good service. Everyone really enjoyed their dishes. I will definitely be back on my next visit to the area.

2022-02-23Great meal. The fries brussel sprouts were the highlight, and the Rueben was quality. My friends had the burger and rates it solid. Overall a great evening.

2018-10-28Good food although portions are on the small side. The cocktail was a little light on the alcohol and heavy on the lime juice but still good.Second visit. Earned them another star. The cocktail was perfect and the food was incredible. Their brunch menu has many interesting options. We will definitely be back to try more items.

2022-06-08Four of us went and all loved our meals. Fantastic job today Tela team! We will be back soon!!
