The location of this campground is great. The campers are great. There are not a ton of rules, we can pull our camper out whenever wed like, and they allow pets. The shower house is nice, shower areas are not heated. They have nice play areas for children. It is close to Mill Hollow, a dollar store, gas station, pizza place, and many others. Its only $1 a person for the day for visitors. That being said, there are many sites that look unkempt, with rundown, old campers. There is no gate and key card as there used to be one at the entrance. It has been down for years and not put back up. The entrance to the campground looks dumpy. The office and pavilion are run down with no apparent plan to fix them up. They are apparently not concerned with fixing up the current campground, but they can start building a new one across the street. The showers have run out of hot water a couple times due to the fact they hook small propane cylinders to the hot water tank. There are large mounds of dirt piled along the main entrance to the campground itself. The activities are ok, seem to be getting a little better. The price just went up to $2,500 for a regular site. Most other campgrounds in the area charge closer to $1,850. You also pay for your own electricity. All seasonal sites have sewer though. The laundromat is apparently non-existent due to broken machines that have not been fixed for quite some time. There is an indoor pool which can be nice, but in the summer its sweltering inside and makes it hard to be refreshed after swimming. Youre not allowed to swim in the pond. All in all, I dont know that a seasonal site is worth $2,500. If upgrades are made, Id be willing to change my rating to reflect accordingly.
Its a nice and quiet campground. We enjoyed both our stays this summer. We stayed for a total of three weeks. The staff is friendly. The indoor pool and bathrooms were clean. They followed Covid 19 regulations, cleaning both on a regular schedule. The campground is close to many restaurants, shopping, and attractions. It was a nice get away close to home.
We my wife two daughters and myself love this campground. After years or staying just weekends and random campgrounds we always kept coming back to timber ridge. Now we have been seasonal for seven years with no plan on leaving. The place is great and constantly getting better. New improvements every year. Newly renovated bathrooms, paved roads just in the last two years. Very friendly and helpful staff and management. The owner is a great guy and is always making improvements on this park. The seasonal campers here are all friendly and helpful to each other, a great little community of people of all ages including children and grandchildren. The sites are the biggest I have ever used at any campground. I have never had an issue or problem here. The rules are simple and mostly common sense. Come to timber ridge and check it out for yourself. There is always someone here to give you a tour so you can see for yourself the amenities, meet the people and managment. You wont be disappointed.
Campgrounds mostly reflect the clientele. The grounds are kept up by the efforts of the management. The grounds are nicely maintained and the facilities are very good considering what they charge. Some people stay there throughout the camping year and are active in maintaining the grounds. That is like pride in ownership. Campers know each other and lookout for one another and are friendly. What more can you ask for. I am not a regular camper there but I visit a friend who is and he loves the place. I think there is some room for improvement but at what price. I like the place and one day Ill be camping there regularly also and they dont need to change anything for me.
My husband and I camped here the weekend of August 16th-18th. We had an amazing time. Our site was lake front! Everyone we met were super cool. The atmosphere was so friendly, with seasonal residents waving, stopping by to say hi and to filling us in on the daily activities. The swimming lake was gorgeous with beautiful slides and play equipment for the kiddos and an awesome fountain. The showers are very well maintained. We will be back soon.
We stayed lake front recently passing through the town on our journey back home. The indoor pool wasnt fancy, but it was clean and well-kept. The lake (more like a large pond, honestly) was well-stocked with fish, and the staff was very accommodating (allowed us to extend our stay, shared laundry soap, provided food recommendations). The playground was a bit outdated and not great for really young kids. Some of the campground wasnt very shaded, so sometimes it looked a bit like a mobile home park, but the grounds were clean and well-kept. The showers and bathrooms were good for a campground. The gated feature also was nice.
Great campground for children. Lake is nice and is catch and release. They have activities over the weekend for children of all ages. The indoor pool is nice and they do a good job maintaining the bathrooms. They are were replacing the roads while we were there. I would recommend to anyone.
Due to the fact that i can not give this review a zero it is getting a one. DO NOT STAY HERE!! I repeat do not stay here, if you are looking for a relaxing weekend do not stay here. Our trip started out with a horrible welcoming. I walked in to the camp store to check in and got ignored for 15 minutes by the worker at the desk. After telling him I had never been here before he did not provide any insight as to where our site was. After finding our site we were highly disappointed. Our βseasonal neighborsβ have their satellite dish right next to our fire pit with their cable running across our site. Their waste and water hose spread out on the limited grass area that we do have. We did not have the picnic table at our site that was mentioned on the website. When all of these things were brought to the attention of the front desk we were continuously told ( for 2 days) that it was on the to do list. It did not seem to be a concern that the cable and hoses were a trip hazard for our children. The seasonal campers were everything BUT friendly! As a young couple trying to find a campground to be seasonals at this is not even close to making our list! I would not even recommend staying here for a weekend, there is other campgrounds in the area that have a better nightly price and I can only imagine a better atmosphere. If you are looking to be harassed and have a mediocre experience with a halfway decent pool and pond then this is the place for you. If you are hoping to enjoy your hard earned vacation reconsider staying at somewhere other than timber ridge campground!
My wife and I love Timber Ridge Campground. The prices are very reasonable. The campground is clean, and having full hookups is nice. A laundry room on premises. Lots of activities to do.The staff is wonderful and could not ask for any better. . After meeting several seasonable campers, my wife and I have decided to do (seasonable) it for the 2016 season.. One day we accidentally left the awning out and a seasonable camper called me to let us know. We were also invited to sit around a campfire with some people. People seem to watch out for one another. The campgrounds is close to Lake Erie to see the sunsets, or watch one of the outdoor concerts they have. It is also close to Millers Homemade Ice Cream, Jamies Flea Market, Mill Hollow Park that is part of the Metro Parks.. Not too far from Cleveland or Cedar Point. Last year (2014) we stayed a week, and this year (2015) we stayed a month, next year (2016) we will be seasonable 4-6 months. Happy Campers!
We needed to find a last minute place to stay. Called this campground asking if they could accommodate us (we were 140 miles out and the GOS said we would arrive around 8pm). The owner was very kind and said even though they werent officially open, they would be glad to let us stay. The drive took longer than anticipated and we arrived closer to 8:30pm. The gentleman was very understanding and lead us to our site - waterfront, and beautiful (we discovered the beauty the next morning). Full hookups worked perfectly and the campgrounds very clear. Looks like they are getting ready to regravel.Thank you to the owners for being such wonderful hosts! Best wishes for a successful season!
Parents camped there for many years but the owners were more worried about adding sp5ot then adding activities for the campers to do. Creating a suitable playground for the children that the teenagers have not destroyed and the owners just left as is for the little ones to get hurt on.
Terrible. Had a brakedown on Ohio Turnpike, stuck for four hours. Closest campground was Timber Ridge. At 10:15 pm. they were closed up and they had a gate closing entrance. I called the after hours nimber. Man said they were closed, he wasnt dressed and wasnt coming down. I asked to turn around in the parking lot, he repeated he wasnt dressed and not coming down. Had to back a 42 foot 5th wheel in the dark, no lights and raining. Avoid this place like a Broken Septic System.

2021-10-14Fine for an overnight. Many seasonal sites. Due to construction, our GPS sent us down to a road closure and we had to back our truck and trailer back up the road for about a quarter mile (It would have been nice for the staff at the campground to give us a heads up and an alternative route when we called ahead of time). Cash only payment (hiding income perhaps?).

2019-06-04Our site was really sogggy. I donβt think they should have put anyone in there. I adjusted the camper multiple times Bc it was sinking. Then gave up and had to deal with a bad lean. Other than that I like the park and would revisit.

2021-08-08Had a great weekend with the family at Timber ridge. We stayed at their cabins would highly recommend very clean and upkept. Staff was very relaxed and friendly. Amenities were as described indoor pool was a hit with the kids and the pond was well stocked for fishing. Vermilion marina is only 15 minutes away and Lorain metroparks are just as close so plenty to do in the area. Great for families or just a getaway for adults.

2020-08-16We had full hookup with sewer, water, electric. Our spot had a sewer hole for maintenance which I didnt like. Other than that one flaw everything was great. Fire ring, nice picnic table and mowed lawn. Our big trailer fit good with 3 slide outs. Leveled very nicely with a little shade tree and great breeze. About 20 minutes from our homes and stores are close by in Vermilion. We will definitely be going back in September. Huge indoor heated pool which I really look forward to try. Nice size pond which is great for kids or adults to try catch fish. Really calm and peaceful. Very dog friendly. We will be back.
