A lovely, cozy upscale winery with a nice portfolio of wine. The Aurora Red wine, local cheeseboard and tuna are all recommended. The service was friendly and efficient. The surrounding outdoor area is landscaped by their own professional crew. Simply stunning! Will be returning.
I just hosted my wedding here in OctoberThe venue itself is amazing, that and the serving staff are the ONLY things good about this venue. The event planners and coordinators are AWFUL, unhelpful, and very quickly willing to put their hands up and say theres nothing we can do, sorry.I cannot tell you the number of problems that I personally had to fix because the venue was able but simply UNWILLING to do on my wedding day.The beautiful venue and wonderful serving staff make this worth the immense headache and hair-splitting, but only just.Dont book here unless you plan to do everything yourself, because the coordinators are useless.
Fantastic experience would most definitely recommend going to the annual Harvest Dinner. Which was a five-course Gourmet Dinner, 5 Premium Wine Pairings, Live Music, and is set amongst ThornCreek’s Amazing Gardens. We will most definitely make this an annual event on our calendar
Well, let me begin by saying the winery is beautiful! My best friend and I ate dinner there this evening and everything was 100%! The greeters, valet, waitresses, bar tender and the meal was wonderful! The manager Spencer and the owner made sure that we were asked if our experience was pleasing and of course we gave it high praises, he even suggested walking around the grounds of the winery. I just have to say Beautiful even in the dark! Im giving it 5 stars and I will be back soon!!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Such an amazing renovation! Gorgeous, modern and minimal design. There is such a great energy and attention to detail. The food was fresh and clean. The apple fennel salad is such a great combination. We added blackened salmon that was perfectly cooked. Quality ingredients to go with the very good wines. The Owner’s Blend is incredible. It was pulled from the chill room at the perfect temperature. Great atmosphere for a great night out! Looking forward to returning. Cheers!
If I were able to give zero stars I would. I will sandwich this review. The view and the landscape was amazing! The food was awesome as well! The service? Was HORRIBLE! You are required to wait in line and order your food and drinks. The servers then bring your food to you after waiting ( while attempting to practice social distance with others waiting mind you) We didnt feel welcomed or wanted! No one came and asked if we needed anything afterwards. It was very offish. I gave two stars because the wine and food was amazing. The hospitality and manners were just blah. If someone were to ask me about a winery in Ohio ThornCreek would not make the cut.
Checked their times on online and planned accordingly. I arrived and asked for their tasting room and was told I needed a reservation and they had a wedding (on a Thursday at 5pm🤔) and was told I couldnt be served. I have been checking out many wineries in Ohio but will not return here!
While I find the atmosphere and the experience of Thorncreek charming I cannot give it my support due to its greed and lack of empathy. My wife and I had reserved Thorncreek as our wedding reception venue which was put on pause due to COVID. We planned to reschedule as the establishment made it clear that they would not refund our $6000 deposit under any circumstances. Ultimately, my wife and I needed to cancel the event 3 months in advance. I understand Thorncreek needs to cover its own investments in events, but they had zero flexibility. If the venue couldn’t book another event, I would have no problem with them keeping our money. They DID however rebook our date; they got their money. Their GREED leads me to this 1 star review. I can’t recommend to anyone a business that conducts itself this way.
Ive been here a few times (networking events, their Yappy Hour event) and always have a good time. The grounds are absolutely stunning and its clear how important impeccable landscaping is to them. Such a beautiful venue, pictures truly dont do it justice (and Im a photographer!). We just attended the Yappy Hour dog event which was marvelous!! All the staff was so kind. There was a mixup in the kitchen causing my cousins meal to be late, but the staff was upfront about what happened and apologized, so we really appreciated that. Their Moscow Mule had such a great ginger flavor too! Sometimes its hard to find ones with the right balance. The chocolate torte was delicious. I do hope to see more vegetarian/vegan options soon. The valet folks were very nice as well and we got our car promptly. We look forward to going back there!!
My favorite winery in Ohio! My husband and I love coming here. The staff is always kind and pleasant to talk to. I enjoy being indoors and outdoors and will come here anytime of the year! Wine selection and food are delicious! Also kid-friendly which we greatly appreciate!
Its not as great as others in the area. The wait staff was attentive but werent as knowledgeable, and on two occasions, had to ask what they were serving. The menu description of seasonable really was not, as dried fruit and olives are always available. A portion of our meat was inedible as it was more like jerky. The interior spaces were very dark including the restrooms, which I find a little disconcerting. The light above the sinks were not functioning. The grounds crew were applying fertilizer or pesticide which smelled rather awful. The noise from the crews air blower was not pleasurable with my lunch and wine tasting. The prices were more than the experience was worthy. However, the wine is delicious. I prefer a dry, and they werent puzzling, just tasty. Taste, buy wine, but dont linger for a meal.
I have not really been into wine tasting as much as I was, but you do not have to be a wine person to enjoy a winery. Take for instance, ThornCreek. The grounds are lovely, the restaurant and dinning area are ambient and the staff are friendly. I took my special someone to brunch here on 8/19. The server, Lydian, recommended the chicken and waffles, and the flat bread of the day (steak and eggs). We had no complaints with those recommendations! Also, you cannot forget a carafe of mimosas! The OJ used tasted fresh and the sparkling wine that was used was delicious. We will certainly be back in the future for brunch and maybe dinner too.
My salmon was not cooked. I had asked for it not to be replaced, as I had wanted to leave. Ten minutes later they brought out the same salmon with my bite taken out and said that they gave me fresh veggies so I would be charged. I had one piece of asparagus. I refused the order and requested to not be charged. The man ringing us out was very understanding and did not charge us, however the waitress who brought the new food out stood there shaking her head. I would not recommend to anyone.
Really beautiful winery.Really good wine. Dry red that is.Really good appetiser. Didnt try anything else, but the aroma was incredible.Very nice live music out back in that incredible space.A few folks brought their dogs with them, Rocky is coming next time, which will be soon!
The grounds are absolutely gorgeous. found it to be a bit too pricey I had a $12 glass of wine that was as good as any $8 glass of wine you can get. we were sitting there sipping our wine and the waiter didnt take our order right away because he wanted to give us some leisurely time which is fine but we didnt realize is he wouldnt didnt take our order so it went over the time where we could get lunch and thats what we came there for. So we only got these cheese boards and they were nice but again very pricey
Absolutely wonderful winery experience. Unlike most that we have visited, they have a very large selection and all were so good. I mean it!! Difficult to choose between them. Comfortable atmosphere, great foood, and friendly staff. Their inside and out decor is very well done.
Overpriced and 2 stars too many. Where to start? Arrived at 6:41PM party of 2. Forced to valet park. Attempted seating us at an awful table wedged in a corner or at the bar despite having an entire room vacant. We found our own table by the window. Band was two ladies covering Red Hot Chili Peppers, Oasis, and Beatles songs which wasnt too terrible, all things considered. Ordered wine flights and really liked the Chardonnay. Ordered a bottle which tasted nothing like the sample in the flight. Ordered a cheese tray that never came. They were sold out of half the items on the menu, so we ordered tacos for $18 a plate. Tacos were messy and worth about half that. Only dessert offering was a flourless chocolate cake that cost $10 and while tasty, not worth the money. Despite not wanting to spend too much time there, 2 hours later the bill was $119 and suggested a $17 tip, we left a $5 tip and felt generous with that. Valet was busy so we grabbed our own keys and left. We will not be returning.
The Food and Wine are fabulous! New Years pre-fix Menu was extraordinary! the Seabass AND the Short Ribs were so delicious! Such a relaxing evening. Wine flights are fun to order and a wonderful way to try the wines.Looking forward to coming back for future events....
My husband previously enjoyed this winery and we moved away. Today 6/23 we thought we would stop in and get a case of wine. We went up to the counter and there were 4 workers and it took much too long to be waited on. We asked for a certain wine and had a couple of tastings. After 3 tastes the blond girl walked off and never returned! We decided because of the very poor service that we would leave and never to return. Bad customer service!!!!
What a lovely evening. We sat on the couch by the fireplace and enjoyed several small plates...which were really large enough to share and all were fabulous. The meatballs were terrific...better than any I have had elsewhere. The staff was professional and attentive. The décor was beautiful. We will be back.
I had contacted Thorncreek Winery for Saturday during Memorial Day Weekend. I was looking for a place to have a Celebration of Life for my sister. I worked with BrookeMarie. She was so wonderful to work with . On the day of the event , it could not have been more perfect .The grounds are are so nice and made it even more amazing .Everyone was talking how nice Thorncreek was and how great the food was . There were a number of people that didn’t even know it existed. We had an area outside under a tent . The service was very good and attentive. I would definitely book another event here in the future. Thanks again BrookeMarie .
Really love this little place tucked neatly and conveniently near my home. The wine is pleasant and cheese boards etc., are tasty great. The staff is on the mark. My only issue is that I wish people would manage their children and their inside / outside voices there are other people there that are trying to enjoy themselves too and that doesnt include putting up with your overbearing screaming brats running, twirling around in front of our table or bumping into us. My dogs are more polite and socially integrated. Geez! This dampened many customers good time. We dont care how cute you dressed them or how cute you may think they are--chances are any compliments are fake smiles and come get your kids or kid. Not cute.
My now husband and I went to Thorncreek for the chicken and waffles brunch. While sitting in the fountain garden, we decided we needed to get married there! The beautiful gardens and landscape, the intimate feeling, the amazing food...Thorncreek has it all! The staff worked with us to bring our unique wedding vision to life. Our intimate wedding was absolutely perfect from start to finish and Thorncreek made it happen! We look forward to visiting many more times in the future to celebrate the special place we said I do.
As a wedding DJ, I truly enjoyed working with the great staff at ThornCreek. Everyone was polished and professional - and their tented area was such a beautiful space for an outdoor wedding. If you are planning a wedding youve GOT to add ThornCreek to your list of venues to check out. Its one of the best Ive seen in and around Cleveland. Keep up the great work! -DJ Dave, Encore Sounds
Great place. I attended a party there and was thoroughly impressed by the venue. Lovely inside and out with great service and amenities. Its a bit tucked away, but absolutely worth going out and experiencing for yourself. Its one of the best options for a gathering in the area and your guests are sure to be impressed.
ThornCreek Winery is a great venue for a dinner or for a huge event like a wedding or a party. The staff is super helpful and the menu is great. They have a Wednesday wine and wings deal that features great wings; try the gochujang wings. The wines are good, they use Washington and California grape and finish the wines in Cleveland. The pinot noir is especially good.
I have been to Thorncreek numerous times and each time is a wonderful experience. It has been great to watch them grow and see the new additions they add. The wine and food are good and the service is always great as well. The music is always good and whether you are outside, inside, or in the basement, I trust every experience at Thorncreek will be a valuable one!
The introduction was horrible as we have five people in our party as an addition to three diners already here. They were difficult during our seating arrangements and we had a mix up in drinks after asking for an already ordered drink. I did not like some of the attitudes of the staff. I will not be returning.
Ugghhh went here yesterday for a wedding and omg it was a mud bath.... we were forced to walk through mud to get to our chairs we were covered in mud up to our ankles... had they mowed the grass the sun would have had time to dry up the ground ...or even better they should have layed outdoor carpet down ....this is a wedding people wore there fancy shoes and long dresses and they all got ruined horrible... also I went to the bathroom to get paper towels to wash my feet and shoes I sat out side as to not get mud all over there bathroom and the servers kept giving me dirty looks for washing my feet out there ... but oh well thats what u get u made me walk through mud now you and your guest get to watch me wash my feet ....never will I ever go back.... I did give 2 stars instead of one star because the bartender made really good drinks.

2022-04-26This space was rented for my baby shower, and WOW. Not only is the venue GORGEOUS, so much natural light, so many spaces that are beautiful, fantastic wine/food. The staff was SO SO sweet and hospitable, my guests loved the staff and so did I. When the shower was over I was having such a good time I didn’t want to leave (the guests didn’t either lol). If you ware wanting a beautiful venue with attentive and kind staff this is the place!

2020-10-09Atmosphere was amazing! Customer service top notch! Beautiful location!Came in just before opening hours but were greeted with the upmost respect. Even when we are arriving so under dressed for as beautiful as this location is. We just got done biking 25 miles, grubby as hell, lol.And a rehearsal wedding taking place to boot.We ordered a chardonnay and a reserve dry red. Both absolutely tasty!Thx again for the amazing wine!

2022-06-27Building and grounds are beautiful, that is reason enough to go. The menu is not dinner, but charcuterie board, Flatbread, & appetizer or two. Wine flights, wines, & specialty drinks are available. Service was good & all are friendly & helpful. However, ordering is done at the bar & delivered to your table; the crostinis are exceptionally crisp, very hard to eat. Will return to try something else & sit outside in the beautiful surroundings.

2019-01-23A great winery in my neighborhood to [wine] down. Small and cozy winery is housed next door to DTR Landscape Visionaries; grounds and gardens are truly visions to behold and encourage you to linger. I liked the long table made from trees with tree stumps for chairs that would be great for hosting a private party. Color foliage added such appeal along with the tent. Associates super friendly.

2021-05-25Beautiful space inside and outside and a wonderful service. The food was good, but mainly leaving 4 stars because of I wished there was a bigger quality selection for whites and roses.
