Stopped in for coffee and breakfast this morning. It was all so good! My maple cinnamon oat milk latte was heavenly. The atmosphere is so warm and inviting and everyone is so friendly. its super dog friendly too and I very much enjoyed petting the very good boi waiting in line in front of me. Very excited that Nates Steamed Bagels has a permanent pop up shop on Saturdays in the cafe all winter! So thankful to have such a fantastic coffee shop in the neighborhood.
Delicious Raspberry Latte and a very nice price too! They are very close to my job(not a good thing). So it makes it nice when I need a boost in the am. Nice cozy and rustic atmosphere, coffee beans for sale from local roasters, and sponsor local musicians from time to time.
An absolute gem of the west side. Tim and his team provide amazing quality coffee and customer service every single time I visit.. and they play chill hop on occasion. 10/10 recommend every coffee drinker from Columbus to visit. So thankful to have a great locally owned coffee shop in the Hilltop community.
My favorite coffee shop hands down here in Columbus! I always make it a priority to have all of my business meetings at Third Way Cafe.Tim, Nick & Andrew are very knowledgeable and welcoming to those who are new to the coffee world (me). Another great aspect of this location is the amount and diversity of books!Overall a great environment and atmosphere. I recommend to any individual, family or business professionals! 😎👍🏻
I just moved into the area and honestly Im a bit apprehensive to the area. The proprietor of this establishment, which I didnt get the name of, was polite, easy going, and honestly incredibly pleasant. He put me in a good mood and made me feel at home. When other customers came in it was obvious they were at home, regulars, and felt just as awesomely about him. The establishment itself is homey, well kept, and inviting. The meals they offer, while good tasting, arent quite worth the price but the coffee is fantastic. I could easily see myself come here Sunday morning with my wife and just chill or an hour or so without any problems at all.
Today was my first time here, but it already left such an impression that I wish I could give it a sixth star. The manager is the most friendly person Ive ever ordered coffee from, the cold brew and the seasonal Steinbeck (which my partner got) were delicious, and the atmosphere is great, not to mention the lovely reading room in the back. It matters so little to me that it takes us 25 minutes to drive there—we will be back very soon!
Great folks running the place, very friendly! Coffee is amazing as well. Its a neat, cozy cafe that is fit for someone looking to work or have a casual meeting. Love the academic atmosphere that the cafe has, books all around with plenty of tables and outlets. I recommend!
I really liked the atmosphere of the shop and the barista, Tim, was super sweet! I didnt stay very long since I was kind of in a hurry but this is definitely a diamond in the rough. I didnt have the opportunity to ask if they roast any of their own beans, but they also had for sale beans from some local shops like Roosevelt Cafe and One Line Coffee. Whatever drip coffee they had was solid. Lots of old decor and table space! I was able to park right on the street in front of the shop which was nice too.
My finance and I are moving to the neighborhood. We stopped by to give it a try to see what it was all about. The staff was friendly, the space was cozy, and the coffee was delicious. It sort of gave me a Coffee Table vibe (if anyone remember it from the Short North). I love the amount of books and records. The coffee menu isnt extensive, but you dont need extensive, if youre making a good coffee. Im glad we went and its definitely a place we are looking forward to frequenting when we move.
So many rave reviews we had to check it out. But we were disappointed. Two stars: very chill atmosphere, board games, books, love the vibe. Ordered an iced mocha and an iced vanilla latte. Zero coffee and/or espresso. The latte was pure white and tasted like vanilla milk and the mocha was a nice chocolate milk...for $8 total. We drove our milk home and made coffee to add to it. I wanted to leave just 1 star but the atmosphere saved it from that fate. Either way, we won’t be going back.
This place is special. The owners do a lot for the underserved and underrepresented. The space is great for many customer needs. The coffee is outstanding and espresso drinks are on the way. Tim, the manager, is engaging and helpful.Update: 1/3019 -Third Way Cafe continues to grow and thrive. Tim and Nick have worked hard to make this happen. They hired, Rodney, who is well read and talented in many areas. The espresso machine is great. Classic and not automated. Staff have trained well to make super quality drinks. They also have great tea options and food (lunch and pastries) options made by Dutch Harmon. Delish!
Please... If you love books or coffee... Check out this spot. Its small but so inviting. The coffee crafters drinks are fantastic and youre supporting an awesome cause just by purchasing a delicious beverage! There are a few tables and a nice comfortable seating area to relax and enjoy your drink. There are so many community ties in this little cafe. You can stop just to find out what is going on in your community. Please go check it out for yourself and support a cause much bigger than yourself! I give this cafe TEN stars!
We enjoyed our visit. They have a great selection of coffee and the service was great. We enjoyed our latte and cold brew. The place is comfortable and cozy. The barista was very knowledgeable and worked with us on recommending a caffeinated beverage we would enjoy, and we did!
Third Way Cafe is killing it!They were a cozy little spot with all-day drip coffee on my first visit, but now theyve gone all in with espresso drinks. Plus they have inherited a library from Acorn books! This is Columbuss coziest coffee shop now. I love coming with the family to have coffee and play board games.
This was the first business my wife and I went to when we moved to Westgate this summer and we instantly fell in love with the place. It became an every weekend destination on our walks in the summer and fall. Theyre friendly, have amazing coffee, and the place has the perfect chill vibe. They have a different brand of coffee to try almost everyday and tons of books to choose from. Theyre also incredibly involved in the hilltop community. Theyve got things going on all the time from music, poetry, to food trucks. I try to stop by as often as possible! Give them a follow on Instagram!
Update: Espresso is here! The store added a library of books to read on site or to purchase. If you want a bite to eat, youll need to bring your own. Unless a food truck is parked out front. This is mostly a meeting and gathering space rather than a cafe. Drinks on hand were coffee in airpots and a selection of teas. The staff member indicated that espresso and an expanded drink menu is in the works to arrive in the summer of 2018. Ill probably revisit then to get decent espresso in the neighborhood. This place is in its infancy, and Im hoping it grows into a successful business.
Third Way Cafe does things differently. They provide both fresh coffee and atmosphere, but what they really do goes beyond just their fantastic service. They are a fair-chance employer designed to change the world. They work with Coffee Crafters Academy to help break the cycle of recidivism through helping inmates get and retain jobs. They also have a passion for books. They use profits in their bookshop to give books to inmates. They are also deeply involved in the community in Columbus west side and put on events. If you want to support a business that really gives back to the community, ditch your old chain, and come here!
Nice little up and coming cafe. Check out their website to get a sense of what this place is about. Dont expect fancy drinks or even food (yet?). Its self-serve coffee and hot water for tea or hot chocolate. Theres a $2 cover charge and you can sit and drink as much as you want. Lately theres been a brunch option (a food truck) on Saturday, which was pretty good. You can sit inside, eat your brunch, drink coffee, and chat or play board games.

2021-12-22I was pretty happy with this little place. The art is inviting and feels reviving, and the inside has a warm vibe that fits the recent cold winter weather. The staff probably could have been a little friendlier (though they werent impolite!) and the espresso could have been pulled a little stronger, but the drink was decent enough that I certainly dont mind returning! Theres a breakfast/brunch shop connected to the back thats also really convenient. The parking is hit or miss but nothing super inconvenient. Worth checking out.

2022-06-02Cool space to stop and study in. Apparently, the books were all moved to a bookstore during the pandemic but they are apparently reorganizing the inside soon to have more work tables and whatnot. The chai tea was good and the guy behind the counter is the friendliest bro dude you will ever meet. Great vibes.

2022-04-27Cool place, but doesnt have much seating, did not have any pastries or goodies (maybe they sold out by 9?), and only had one person working there while they were pretty busy which meant that we waited a while for our coffee order. They had advertisements for special beverages, but said they were out of the things to make that beverage. It didnt appear that they have any syrup flavours to add to bevs, so whatever you get is kinda basic. Thats not a bad thing, but it is good to know if flavours are your jam.

2021-03-23I really enjoyed this coffee shop. It has a very chill and welcoming atmosphere. The staff is very helpful and attentive to the quality they are putting out. I have been here a couple times and both experiences were great.

2022-04-16I love this small community centered neighborhood coffee shop. Lots of live plants, a piano and works by local artists on the wall. Sometimes they will spin records on the turntable. Not to mention the best coffee from local roasters.
