GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! I don’t ever comment but feel the need because this place does not follow the standards I expect from UPS.This location will nickel & dime you & does not follow corporate standards for services.Manager was super rude and not willing to help with anything. $2 min to print a label. Required to use the computer at $.35 a min. Clearly says card total is $2. I wanted to pay cash.Whatever, enter at your own risk. This place sucks and I’m reporting it to corporate and BBB.
Terrible experience. Every time I go into this location no one knows what they are doing. The first time was when I had to refuse delivery of a package. I took the package to the store as per the advice of the customer service department at the 800 number. The clerk told me they could not accept the package and I had to take it to the actual warehouse in Maumee. I went to Maumee and the guy there looked at me lime I had 3 heads and told me i needed to take it back to the store. I ended up taking the package to a location in Maumee and they gladly accepted the package to return to sender. The 2nd experience I had with this store is when I had to send a package to Canada. The girl at the desk had no idea what she was doing and it was clear that she didnt know what i was talking about. She had no idea how to complete the form and i was not confident at all that my package would arrive to its destination. Low and behold, the package did not arrive whe. The clerk promised it and it ended up being rerouted back to the store. As of this date, the package is lost. The last experience I had in the store, with the same clerk, is when I had to send a simple certified letter. I would tell her exactly what i needed (a signed returned receipt) and when she repeated back what i needed she would say completely something else. I would let her know that I needed the signed receipt and she handed my the form to complete. I told her I was unsure which boxes to check yo make sure what I needed and she just willy nilly started checking boxes. I had to stop her and ask her please to not check boxes of ahe eas not sure what they meant as this was an important document being sent. She said that she had no idea what she was doing and didnt want to help me or offer any solution. She suggested I go to the post office, which was closed. I ended up calling another store asking of they could help walk us through the proper paperwork and they advised that since covid. UPS isnt even doing cert letters ans she should have know that. So, I wasted 40 minutes in the store with a clerk who was clearly annoyed that I was asking for such an outlandish request for a certified letter. She was rude. I will never give my business to this store again. Shame on this place of business for being so ill-informed and plain rude.
Ive been using this store for 10 years. Even though I moved, which now places the store far out of my way, I still go there because the owner and staff are great. Ive never once found anyone to be rude, discourteous or unprofessional. Quite the contrary, they know me by name and are always welcoming.The negative reviews here sound like theyre written by people with an axe to grind, or are otherwise projecting. You get what you give.
I share the same experience of other reviewers in feeling that I was treated very rudely there.I didnt have my identification with me when I walked in to send a package and was told in a very rude way that I needed to get it. Otherwise, they would not send the package. I completely understand the rules, but sometimes its not just what you say, but how you say it.I would hope that after all of these one star reviews and unhappy customers, the employees, managers, and owner would reevaluate how they come off to customers.And, when someone DOES take the time to share their dismay with you, it is best to talk to them about it with them further instead of dismissing them with a I was not rude response.
Rather than run through my play by play in the Central Ave. UPS store, I would like to theorize that more folks tried to leave single star reviews, but maybe those reviews were deleted because of excess profanity used to describe the aweful customer service (especially from the owner, oddly enough) that youre sure to expect there. Please, dont give this store your business. Our neighborhood deserves better. Maybe corporate can step in soon to ensure the franchise is being run by someone more capable and personable. I would hope that UPS has a system in place to remedy this unfortunate situation.
I wouldnt use this place if I had to. I went in to try and get forms that I could bring back and was told that they did not have an unlimited supply of them and that they were only for customers that were shipping right away. I had 34 tubes that I needed to ship and I didnt want to sit in their store for an hour and fill everything out. I mean the guy did not have the curtesy to finish chewing his food before he spoke to me either. So I had to drive to another location, Monroe street, that was more than happy to provide me with what I needed.
The manager, Charlie, is rude, unhelpful, and horrible at customer service. I am an avid Amazon Prime member and I never have a single problem with my deliveries unless they are fielded through THIS location and its drivers. Corporate needs to assess this stores operations more closely.**update to Owners response**Oh really? Is that why Amazon HQ and your corporate office got involved and apologized on your behalf?
Im a pretty regular customer here as I have shipments every few weeks and I choose this place for their awesome staff. Every UPS employee I spoke with here have always given me a service with a smile and I will continue to come here as long as they keep up the good work!
Not sure why this place has so many bad reviews - maybe the man I dealt with on 2/18/13 was a manager? I had 4 bags of clothing to ship and he told me to just fill out the form and hed take care of me - and that he did! He put the box and bags on the scale, I paid for it and he said hed box it all up and I was all set. Everything was quick and easy!
Very poor. The young man on the phone was rude and discourteous. I explained that I was told by Ebay that using UPS through them allows up to a 25% discount and so I was contacting his store to get information on an international shipment. He explained to me that his store does not offer that discount because they are just a store (repeatedly) and they are Not associated with Brown! When I asked him to explain that, he said I dont understand, explain WHAT? Around and around. He told me to call the 1800 pickups number and when I did the young lady that answered was also unaware of the discount for Ebay users. She referred me to a local franchise in Toledo meaning back to square one.I had just gone through the qualification process with UPS online (which takes 2 weeks for approval) and none of the employees seem to be aware of this agreement, nor are they able to articulate the reason UPS franchises are not affiliated with Brown and are unable to honor the agreement. Also, the entire experience was frustrating due to the lack of customer service skills and the fact I received zero satisfaction or information. I never thought Id miss the US Postal Service like I do now!
This place is absolutely horrible. I wouldnt make my enemy go there. They have the absolute worst customer service and want to nickel and dime you all the way. They wanted to charge me 2 dollars for a piece of tape. The guy had a attitude and acted like everything I did was wrong. Its a freaking package, just box it and deliver it. Dont make it a huge hassle. No wonder the have horrible reviews.
Great quiet friendly. Never have a problem shipping out of here. I was interested in the shipping some fishing poles to Florida in February versus an extra $75 on the airplane. Much cheaper 2/3rds cheeper with great advice. You can trust Brown to get the job done right. Safe in one piece and on time you cannot say that for the airlines.
Wish I could give a zero. Doesnt seem to be anyone at this location that can handle an electronic deposit. Other UPS Store locations with this feature do not have the same issues as this store seems to. Unfortunately this is the only location within 40 miles so going to Ann Arbor is the only other choice.

2021-11-04Let me correct my statement then. The snarky little owner guy may be the worst customer service person in the world. You might do better to hire a manager for the sake of customer experience and just go sit in back basking in the glory of owning a C rate paper store... youre a joke and unfortunately do a great disservice not only to your customers but also your employees. This collectors bottle is now still lost and in limbo with no return tracking number ever created, so if you want your items stolen by all means ship them to this guy. Its now been 5 months and no tracking info refund or bottle to be found. Thanks again thiefJust an update so it looks like you guys have some traffic... youre still awful... thanks

2021-01-103 Packages disappeared from this store over the course of 1 month. I drop off, get a receipt and the packages simply vanish. Another UPS store told me that the people there are harvesting packages for their own and I am not the first to have an issue. UPS should investigate this store.

2020-03-05Surprised by the negative reviews. I have used this location at least a half dozen times and have been always treated with courtesy and respect. I have recently chosen this place as an access point for UPS deliveries as I live in an apartment and do not want my packages left outside my door when I am not home. I will make sure when I go to pick up my deliveries that I will have my ID with me. Seemed like a major gripe about reviewers being turned down due to not having their ID with them. There is a reason for policies, folks! And why didn’t you have your ID, especially since you likely had to drive there? Just curious!

2021-01-23This store is very well mannered and gets the job done! Every time I come in the ladies are very greeting and make small talk, super friendly. I’ve shipped out very fragile items as well that they pack and makes it to the next location in one piece still. Good job ups store
