The manager did not properly inform me of all the details of the shipping process when shipping a valuable package overseas. They shipped my package using USPS without my knowledge. They gave me an option based on prices, but not detail of the actual shipping used(e.g. UPS or USPS). As a result of this, they also did not inform me of the tracking option correctly. It turns out that the tracking information management told me when purchasing the label was completely wrong. It could be wrong for 3 reasons; incompetence, their own lack of awareness of the situation or simply utter lack of care for the customer. The issue of declared value was also not explained clearly when purchasing, as their very system does not let you put a value on the package more than $100. This would obviously affect the claims process if the package is lost, but this was not information they explicitly informed me.This UPS Store itself failed to advise me with clarity, transparency and with all fully correct information. When I approach this specific store about the problem, they try to re-direct the issue to USPS, and alleviate the blame and the responsibility off themselves. They claim that they gave all relevant information(from divulging that they shipped not only UPS but also USPS, from tracking information they provided me with, the insurance option) but this is false to my experience of the store itself.I hope that their ability to inform customers with detail and precision will be improved in the future.EDIT: Looking at the Stores reply to my review, they replied with What they dont understand is if you are shipping USPS (Untited States Postal Service) they need to take the issue to them. We offer all customers both options. (UPS vs USPS). We always have. It is unfortunate that their package is lost or not delivered but at this point they need to go to the POST OFFICE to get it resolved. UPS did not deliver this package..I absolutely acknowledge that they sent my package via USPS. I absolutely acknowledge that packages can get lost all the time, no matter what service. What I am most unhappy about and want to inform other customers about, is the fact that I was not told that of my two shipping options were actually of different shipping carriers(USPS vs UPS). I was informed that they were at two different price points, and that tracking would not be available for the 2nd option(which turned out to be USPS). If they clearly stated that it would be USPS shipping, and that I would need to contact USPS for everything related to the package from the minute I inquired about this option, there would be a lot less disappointment and anger directed to this specific manager. If I was told fully and accurately that tracking was available by the actual service used, not that UPS was not able to provide tracking (since it is a different company), then it would have been easier for everyone involved to try and track down the lost package earlier.I am not asking this Store to find my package. I simply want some accountability of their actions in their lack of clarity, accuracy and transparency of informing me of my shipping options. I believe that those decisions and procedures that management undertook that day contributed and amplified the situation negatively. That is the crux of my experience and review using the services of this Store.
This dude is a joke, after processing a refund trying to charge me 10$ for box. First- did you ask me if i want to pay that? Second, amazon tells you specifically dont package it and drop it at ups. One of the most awful and ridiculous experience at UPS store. The agent didn’t accept a box for a return, i am returning the exact box i received, she wants me to pay for shipping box? Since when ups boxes are paid for? Dont go to this place, save yourself.
I received an email from FedEx that my new computer had been delivered to this UPS location. I also received a text from Amazon that the keyboard had been delivered there also. I drove 20 mins to the store waited in line for 15 mins all just so Bill could very impolitely inform me that he would not be getting those packages for me because they only came in within an hour and that packages only get put away on down time. I offered to wait until he had a moment and the other customers were gone. He actually laughed in my face and told me that was not going to happen. I offered to look thru the packages myself in front of him just to retrieve my package s but he sternly told me that was never going to happen. He asked me to leave!!! He told me to come back the next day!!! This place is rude and inhospitable! It does a poor job of mail handling and an even poorer job of customer service.
I dont normally write reviews. The manager is the person I worked with and he was unbelievably rude. He dismissed everything I said, would cut me off and speak rudely to me with everything I said. He charged me $15 to print one passport sized photo, when he charged someone else I know only $3. Clearly, they are trying to take advantage and will over charge you if you are not careful. Turn away if he is there working.
I agree with the many previous reviews that this place is THE WORST UPS store in the whole world! The owner was very rude and shameless - asked 1 dollar to seal a box even though people had paid for the shipping and handling already. Even his young employee looked embarrassed by his shameless store owner.
Thank you for holding my package that was sent to you when I was not home.Please encourage your store’s employees to enforce all policies fairly.Encouraging a customer to park in no parking zones but demand another customer to maintain two people policy in the store reflects impartiality.Continue to serve customers righteously.Work with the property manager to provide loading and unloading space for UPS customers.-Mike Gaston
Extremely poor customer service from Mackenzie. As a result you have lost a long time customer.Clearly the poor customer service starts top down.Instead of acknowledging how I was treated from the start you talk about a mask which I had on.You failed to mentioned that I advised implicit bias and customer service training was needed.Not to worry though. This long time customer will never be back.
Ive been to this location many times for drop-offs and pick-ups and its been fine. But today I came in to ask about the new UPS flat rate service and the customer service rep insisted in a rude manner that they are not USPS and do not offer flat rate. As someone who always does a lot of research ahead of time, I told him that its a new service and its been posted online. Then he kept saying how UPS and The UPS Store are separate entities, even though the UPS press release clearly said that we can drop off boxes at The UPS Store. Its one thing to be unaware of the new service or not offer it at this particular location, but being condescending to your customers is totally unnecessary. Staff members should be trained and updated whenever new services are available.
Learned my lesson! I was prepared to eat crow about my previous post regarding your stamp cost. I was going over in my mind what I would say asking you for a duplicate receipt because I misplaced my original tracking receipt. The retailer was saying they hadnt received my package! The only way I would have been able to prove I had mailed it would have been IF you had given me the duplicate. Im going to give you the benefit of the doubt that you would have! I found my original receipt but thought I would still post this...! Enjoy your day. Stay healthy.😷
A package I have been tracking from amazon arrived at this location last week. Was listed as out for delivery then back at the location, then out for delivery again and then suddenly lost by the carrier so they claim. It was over $120 worth of Legos. Looks like that carrier decided they were worth stealing. Thank goodness Amazon has an amazing replacement policy for when things like this happen but its sad that people we entrust to handle our Christmas present orders feel that its okay to steal. Way to go I hope you enjoy your holiday stealing from others.
Great customer service and nice and clean store. Friendly atmosphere.I get a lot of packages and every time I come to your store everyone I encounter has been pleasant, helpful, just above and beyond what I could ask for. The shop owner is unbelievably rude. I have had a few transactions with him over last four months and he has hardly ever talked politely with me. The last straw being, I was expecting an UPS signed delivery containing my passport which was mislaid by UPS delivery guy and when I went to the shop to inquire if he could help me get in touch with the delivery guy when he comes to the store that afternoon, or just help me in anyway to get my passport and UPS package, he just dismisses me by saying Mam, I cannot help you, you have chosen to come at the busiest time of the year. This is crappy customer service at the very worse. 1) The UPS delivery guy did not bother to find out if I was at home despite me waiting back at home to sign for the package 2) He dropped it in front of the wrong door without even taking my signature 3) The person at this UPS Access point just washed hands off the whole thing and was rude and dismissive.
I dropped package on 6/4/18 between 1.30 -2.30 pm. The accepted it and said everything is done. It was a prepaid shipping label so no receipt. It has been 3 days and it is not in the system. I went today and enquirer about it. Another guy told that there is nothing they can do about it and all the packages will be usually taken by ups driver. When I asked about record in their system . He answered that he can’t access it. I requested to review the video tape on the particular date and time- he responded that he can’t access it. I dropped off package and it can’t be traced? What kind of facility is this?Officially the package is lost. The UPS investigated for 2 weeks and found that they could not locate the package. Please be very careful when you drop off at this location and take the receipt.
The manage/owner was so mean. Ive been with them almost a year. This was my first encounter with him. He spoke to me with a nasty in front of all the customers and accused me of breaking a product I brought back a while ago. No apology nothing just made me so uncomfortable even after I told him that I have never been treated so bad after cpming there for so long. Reading the reviews and going to another UPS store I see hos reputation is true.
Normally this store gives good customer service but last week I was stunned. I was returning a rented textbook (no charge) to Amazon. I had not tapped the package closed and I was told the charge for me to use their tape would be $1. I did not have my wallet on me because the return to Amazon was FREE. Why are you charging patrons for tape? I walked out.
Whoever we had was extremly rude and said shed only tape up the package even though it only came in brown wrapping paper and said however they recieve it is how they recieve it with attitude when last time it wasnt an issue. She also pretty much set the package aside but slammed it down when she put it aside. Now Im paranoid the package wont get returned properly and it was not a cheap item! No customer service skills whatsoever! No wonder why you have a help wanted sign in the window!
Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. I walked in planning to buy some packing peanuts and bubble wrap and pack my box myself. I asked the woman behind the counter if she could tape up the box so I could pack it. She then took my package into the back without asking and packed it herself. Upon realizing what she had done, I called to her to ask her to stop packing as my package was extremely fragile and I wanted to do it myself to make sure it was done correctly. She did not respond to me and continued to pack. After I called to her four times, her colleague went to get her, but still, she did not respond. After all of this, she charged me a $30 (!!!!) packing fee. When I asked for ‘Fragile’ and ‘This Side Up’ stickers, she only put on the ‘Fragile’ stickers and told me she would put on the other stickers later. I told her I would wait until she put the ‘This Side Up’ stickers on. Her other colleague came out 10 minutes later and told me that they didn’t have any of those, sorry. So I asked her if she could get a pen and write it on and she sort of grunted at me. I will NEVER ship anything here ever again.
We own a small business In University Circle that we established in 2015 as we have grown over this year our client base is no longer local. Being a Health SOLUTIONS company we ship FRAGILE Sensitive Products to customer dealing with Health Issues so we chose UPS because of their Prestige and we been shipping at this same location for about a year and never had a Packaged Damaged but just recently I did encounter a package Being Damaged by UPS so I immediately contacted UPS and They Said that they were processing the claim and that they would get back to me when the process was done. They never contacted once I called repeatedly and finally spoke to a superior who advised me They were liable but that I would have to receive payment from William and Mary who are 12 year UPS franchise business owners but when I came into the store Williams Dispostion made me extremely uncomfortable he was very disrespectful, undermining and leading me to believe that the Corporate Office Had not Filed my Claim indeed they Did so I called coporate Again and they reported indeed the Claim had been proceed for a Week! When I called William for the seventh time he was very arrogantly talking aggressive over the phone and when I asked why he lied to me, he said Corporate was indeed the liars not him, so now both Corporate and franchise are giving me the Back and Forth Game. I swear This is by far the worse UPS franchise I ever been. How can they treat people this way? I called the Corporate Office to ask about the Claim and They Said they already Issued the Check back to William and Mary and when I talked back to William he yelled and Screamed at me countless times that Corporate was lying to me and ask for the check number is what is arrogantly demanded and when I told him I had already requested the records of the claim UPS Corporate Store said William and Mary are their own entity and they cant release any information to me even though I PAID MONEY AND IM THE SENDER! now they are both giving me the run around when1: I ship fragile packages often at this location2: They packaged my Prodcuts with their materials.3: They Damaged my productsAnd they are treating me as if I did something wrongI issued a refund to my Customer immediatelyAnd I was very polite and understandingBut I immediately compensated my clientWilliam and Mary were practicing Discrimination and is another continual repeat of Predijuce in University CircleNow if Corporate says William and Mary are responsible and They want to give me the Run around then What am I to Do?William and Mary are Liable Right?I paid for a service and I didnt receive itIs that Gross Negligence?Who can Help usAvoid this Store 👎🏿Its a Mockery to UPS 👎🏿And a Debacle! 👎🏿
I’ve had an account with Bill and Mary for 10+ years.I had a mailbox before the redevelopment of that area; back when I was given a key to the exterior door to access my mailbox on the inside. I’ve had an account before the bowling alleys, museums, and Chipoltes. I became an account holder right after I graduated from CWRU in 2006. I think they’ve relocated twice since then.I’m sure there are closer UPS stores that are more accessible or closer to where I live / work but I refuse to go anywhere else.I’ve been shipping / receiving everything from personal items to job specific items and have never had a second thought on wether or not my items would reach their destination and be secure.More than a few times I’ve even bothered Bill, Mary and the staff to inquire about the detailed tracking history of certain items. I probably call them three times a week to inquire about my packages. Everyone there is always warm and informative. They even make suggestions to me on the most cost effective / efficient way to ship even if if it’s something they can’t ship for me.I’ve read the reviews and the one star ratings and I’ve also read the owner’s responses. There’s three sides to every story and I can say from experience that I’ve never had any of the issues that other people have had. Now In the years that I’ve been a customer I’m sure that there have been a few misunderstandings that have been promptly corrected (but I don’t recall any of them because they weren’t as life altering as some of the issues these other customers have complained about).There have been absolutely no issues that have been so egregious that I wanted to pout about and give poor reviews on Google.Thank you Bill, Mary and staff for tolerating me.Unfortunately Google will not allow me to give you a 10 star rating.I will continue to be a customer.
Oh my gosh! This is the worst ups store in the whole world. Can you imagine I came to send a package international and am having trouble and I came back to the store a week after to ask a question,this white lady which I think is the manage is so rude and I even called she put me on hold and later say she has nothing to tell me. This is a TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE resource for your shipment needs, they will take SERIOUS advantage of you if given the opportunity.We were ripped-off so severely that we are in the process of filing a complaint with Mr. Mike DeWine the Ohio Attorney General. The public should be protected from this type of merchant! I see that, based upon the reviews of other customers experiences, that Im not alone!The cost of our shipment should have been $23-$27..........For just the cost of the actual shipment they charged $38. The store was requested to over-pack with a corrugated shipping container with cushioning. THEY CHARGED $42 for this!After wrapping with bubble-wrap and over-packing in a hand-crafted flimsy box made from a sheet of corrugated layer board, a label that included delivery insurance was applied - their charge was $84.39 $84.39 CAN YOU BELIEVE IT! The person dropping off the item for shipment just went ahead and paid the fee, which after-the-fact, is non-negotiable!I am the recipient of the shipment and had paid an original $23 shipping estimate, and now I am expected to pay the balance! I explained to the UPS #2697 store manager, Mr.Bill Sweress, that in a prior career I was a corporate packaging engineer/sr. purchasing agent, and am an expert on shipping and packing cost(s), and, that, their $42 charge for this cost for packing, not to mention the inflated $38 shipping charge is RIDICULOUS.We would not recommend use of this UPS Store.......they charge horribly inflated prices for their service(s) and wait to see if you (the customer) will pay it! The Managers rational for the ridiculous pricing is, well, they paid it!
My experience is really bad. I just want to mail a check this morning. The store staff directly print the priority stamp and let me pay 16 dollar. I say that I want to use regular mail instead of priority. However, he told me once the stamp is printed, he cannot do anything. I will not go there again DO NOT GO THERE.
The manager is really rude. I really do not know his name, but he is an older guy with glasses. Every time I come in this location he acts as if he hates his job and always says rude or smart comments when myself or others need help. Poor customer service from a manager who you would think would model good customer service techniques to his employees.
I dropped off a book on Thursday afternoon at 1:15 pm, May 9, 2019. A nice man who could of been the owner, but I think he is a foreigner, however he met me outside, so I wouldn’t get a ticket. But I do need to call Monday morning or go up there because, Amazon has not received my book and it is still saying “Open Rental”. I didn’t get a receipt which is my fault, but I do appreciate the thought that he met me outside. But I will be going to the store Monday morning, May 13, 2019. Rashonda P.
Went in around 5:30 in the evening. Asked the young lady working about moving boxes. She pointed to boxes packed and ready to ship by UPS truck, told me the boxes were about those sizes. Well there was about 30 boxes stacked up, all different sizes. So i asked, any way i can see one of your moving boxes, empty. She rolled her eyes, showed me. So all i needed to finish my packing was 8 small boxes and 4 medium ones, thats it. She tried charging me $128 dollars, i was floored. I looked at her and said, for 12 MOVING boxes, she huffed and puffed, told me to hold on. She went in the back, came out with a big UHAUL box, told me that is the large and i could have it for $5. I did not get why she did that, so i asked, if thats $5 then how much are small boxes, she replied i guess $4. It was like she was making prices up.so i told her i would take my business else where. I called the corporate office, they were shocked, had me file a grievance report. Word of mouth is the best advertisement, one happy customer tells no one, one unhappy customer tells 20 and then some.
It feels like that after being in business for over 15 years, they no longer desire to do this kind of work. The owners Bill and Mary used to be the best service people, but now they make you feel like theyre doing you a favor by taking your money. They just want to get you the heck outta there. Very very sad...
Im new to the area and ship things often, so before I came into this establishment i simply googled it to see its reviews... After reading what i just read i will NEVER give these ppl my hard earned money. I am retail distrjct manager and customer service is always key to a successful business. Word of advice to the owners: instead of having a comeback response for every negative comment just FIX with a smile and move on...it makes you look guilty when you constantly do that.
I hope I had a better day but these guys are totaly deceiving and liars. I went there to get some prints. The nice lady there told me it 10cent each. I was okay with that. But after I get my prints done I am asked to pay a total of $10 for about 10.. why you ask me?? Because there is a document handling charges that this store forgets to mention with the 10 cent/page charge and guess what that charge is (yes.. its $1 each). Its like are you fxxkin kidding me. I can assure you that I would never in my life do bussiness with you again.
Had a package that was out for delivery and then I get an email saying delivery attempted but didnt delivery and it was moved to tomorrow. They didnt attempt. They didnt even get out of their truck and knock or check the door to see if it was locked. Dont say they attempted when they didnt.
Was selling some stuff online and used the maximum of the ebay calculators range as my expected cost.Ended up selling it to someone close and being 50% lighter than my guess. Paid 30% more than the calculator, which since they already paid in full, I have to eat the cost. I mentioned that this was significantly more than the online estimate for a lighter package, and was told well, my computer says $x and I could pay it or go elsewhere.
Got yelled at for asking a few questions about the temporary spot. This was after I looked for it ten minutes outside in 20° weather. The rep lied saying that the temporary address was up and screamed its only temporary so he could shut me up and ignore my questions. Customers dont care about your bad day. Sorry.
I am getting tired of ups just setting peoples packages on there front porch with out knocking on the homeowner door to see if someone is home I have a letter on my front door saying do not leave our packages on the front porch this is why peoples our packages come up stolen off our porch please knock before leaving our packages or leave a ups package slip for us to call to have our packages rescheduled for drop off

2022-06-19I had a very positive experience at this USPS store! I had multiple types of items to ship recently, and the two gentlemen who were working there that day were so helpful, taking time to carefully wrap and package everything. I was a little overwhelmed on that day: Both employees were super nice to me!

2022-06-24Jake at the UPS store was incredibly helpful and fun to talk to. He helped me with a shipping label problem in minutes and advised me on the best way to send out my packages in the future. One of the most pleasant and efficient experiences I’ve had at any sort of postal service.

2022-08-02The worst experience with UPS Store ever!Please please don’t go to this place, you’ll only lose your money and hope in people. Manager was horrible and the worker was even worse. They were both very rude and hostile upon confrontation and didn’t hesitate to raise their voice and become very aggressive. I wanted to ship a package and they tricked me onto paying $100 for overnight shipment only to find out that it didn’t arrive on time.It’s a scam, please please turn away, I’m saving you time, money and effort

2022-08-03Rude and ripoffI came in to send my keys overnight to avoid fees regarding my lease in PA, the worker said I was guaranteed to have it delivered overnight and I was charged $100He didn’t mention anything about UPS not operating on sundays and promised that my package would be delivered overnight to the desired dateUpon returning to the store to discuss the matter further, the manager and the person who assisted me were vulgar, rude, aggressive and started belittling the whole situation. The manager commanded his worker to “walk away” and no “if’s or buts” and didn’t even give my quote. Never had a rude experience like this with any store.Please please please walk away, a rip-off and a scam of a store, they’ll try and take your money

2022-03-08Had a package out to be delivered and a small discrepancy with the apt number caused it to be held up, driver didn’t call or give options for alternatives, no real time updates to show the estimated delivery time or if they even tried to deliver it, called to update it in their system since I couldn’t do it online, and once that was done it no longer showed a delivery time, so assuming it was going to be postponed until the next business day I Asked to pick up the package myself instead, had to pay $8. I updated the info 30 mins after I noticed it was an issue the update to the address took over an hour and it wasn’t updated if the package would still be delivered today. Still waiting for them to enter a location for pick up and it’s going on 4 hours now. This is inconvenient if someone has to call off work, dedicated their whole day to receiving a expensive package and then get no information about the whereabouts. So my day has become a chase UPS day... never mind the extra $35 I paid to have it delivered today. Understanding my fault in the inaccurate information but I do expect a company to be able to make accommodations or at least communicate better to resolve issues. Had to call 3 different numbers to get a resolution, but still patiently waiting for a pick up location and/or estimated time that it can be picked up. Sorry for the rant.

2022-06-30I’ve been here multiple times and the employees are always a bit rude and condescending. Never had a problem with shipping but I always dread going here. Some of the older employees also talk down to the younger (and I’m assuming) newer employees which makes me cringe.

2021-10-13DO NOT take photos there for the visa application required by the U.S. government! While some of the staff there were nice and helpful, the store manager was quite rude and dismissed everything I said when I told him the photo I took there did not meet the online visa application quality standard. Back in June I was in a challenging situation to apply for my student visa and need to submit a digital photo on the U.S. State Department website . When I took a photo at this UPS store and told them all the requirements, I was assured that they have taken many phots like this and it should not be any issues. However when I submitted the photo, it did not meet the quality standard, see the attached image. I called the store and talked to the guy that the photo did not work, he tried some other ways but it still did not work, then he said he could not help anymore and felt free to complain to their manger. I was charged over $15 dollars for the photo and ended up having someone else use my own camera to take a photo which finally met the requirement. BTW, they used the mobile phone to take the photo like this which really surprised me. I did not feel like going to this store till today I had to, I was well served by other staff. But when I talked to the store manager, he was trying not to take any responsibility for this issue, making it sound thats my own fault. He claimed that he was not going to refund me for the useless photo which I did not even ask for that, actually my intention was simply to let them aware the way they took the photo did not meet the requirement and they should find a way to improve it. I have never had entered into arguments like this since I came to U.S. And what amazed me most was that either the guy who took my photo or the manger whom I talked was never afraid of getting complaints. The manager told me just fill any complaint to whatever number I can get . So I found this google comments and so many people shared the similar experience as I did. Does UPS take it for granted that this is the way of treating the customers or because we are the students here and can be easily taken advantage of?
