The hotel may be historic, but that doesnt mean you should let go cleanliness, customer service or the traits that made this hotel a jewel at one time. If you read the most recent reviews, they are spot on. This hotel is horrible all the way around and we cant believe that Hilton allows it to be the way it is. Come on Hilton, youre better than this! Avoid this Hilton hotel at all costs
1 night stay. Seems like not much to do within walking distance but very close to the action with transportation. They do have shuttle busses available. I did not take advantage of these but good to know. Very nice place with a full service bar and restaurant. Resonably priced for the area. My room was very nice.I really appreciate the attempt to blend the original beauty of the place with modern conveniences. I do remember missing a few things that i have come to expect from my hotel experiences. For example.....The bathroom in the one room i stayed in was quite akward. Small, cramped, the shelves were unlevel and difficult to arrange my things on. The shower did not have a place to set things, water pressure was unimpressive.Just trying to write an honest review but this is definitely my go to place if I am staying in the area. I got the JR suite it was vary spacious, very nice looking, and again much better than other prices in the area.
This Hilton hotel is in a historic Cleveland building, but it falls shy of producing desired results. As soon as we arrived the door was blocked by a large wedding party smoking cigarettes. The carts were old and falling apart. You have to take a seperate elevator to get from the front door to lobby. As soon as we entered our room, we noticed that it was dirty, run down and outdated. Mold/mildew growing in shower, caulking job that would be comparable to my infant doing it, and dust bunnies everywhere. We had two bath towels for a family of 5 and blinds were broken. The complimentary shuttle was not running due to staffing and a garden hose was in parking lot/ sidewalk area as a trip hazard. There were two weddings the following day and we had to listen to music and bass 11 floors up until 1 am!!! We stayed on the 11th floor and at 1 am, the drunk wedding party pulled the fire alarm. Fire Department personnel confirmed it was a wedding party guest who was intoxicated. My 3 kids and wife including all others had to walk 11 stories for this foolishness. Problems were addressed and the only remedy was s $40 discount for parking and a free dinner. Day shift manager did not seem to care. Corporate being called as this was the worst Hilton experience.
Positive: I found hotel very clean and very nice for an old building thats been remodeled in the downtown Cleveland area. Negative: I dont think when youre paying $--- a night you should have to pay $20 a night to park your car. Thats just the way I feel about fees like that. Why couldnt you park for free if youre parking on their land.
Positive: The history and the architecture itself is amazing. Staff, rooms, food was all wonderful. Negative: The tub wasn¿t as clean as the rest of the room. I had to wash it out before the kids took a bath, which I do regardless of how clean it was anyway, but it shouldn¿t have had hairs in it.
I did notice it was quite cool when we enteredI did go downstairs and ask for an upgradeNo upgrades. Please the hotel is not full.Room 821 has no heatThe thermostat is brokenWe came in lateWe put on the heater we thought the heater would heat up the room. But it shuts off.We are freezing!
Woke up in the morning to buckets of water coming from the ceiling in the bathroom. Couldnt use the bathroom and they stated no other rooms were available. Left for the day, and upon return that evening, front desk told us to go check if water stopped and if it didnt we could get another room. The water stopped but dirty water all over the bathroom floor. No compensation. Left messages for Vanessa, assistant sales manager, no return call.
Unfortunately I forgot my laptop at the hotel. I have been calling and they have been sending me to talk with the manager. I wait, and wait , and wait... and nobody answers the call. It has been a month since I stayed at the hotel.... Its very frustrating.....Poor custom services!!!
Would I recommend this hotel? Everything visible to the public eye was good, but not until they clean up their rooms. We had a two room suite. The size was perfect but several problems. The toilet kept flushing, window shades were broken , windows were dirty, bathroom door is off its track (barn door) , floors and baseboards were filthy. It looked like they hadnt been swept or dusted in a long time. The only thing good was the bed. Very comfortable.
Keep in mind this hotel was built in 1929 and has gone through some changes over the years. They have tried to keep as original as it was. Check in was very easy. Our room was very clean, spacious, and comfortable! If you like historic buildings and want to know about its history, you have to ask if Steven is available to give a tour. He is full of knowledge about the hotel. It was an amazing experience!
The manager actually dug my car out during the snow storm. Although the parking lot was not plowed very well at all and around the side of the hotel so not as convenient. The shuttle to Cleveland Clinic was a life saver since I couldnt get my car out in time for my appointment.
We stayed here three weeks ago and our experience did not meet the price we paid.First, their Covid precautions were terrible. Almost none of the staff wore masks -- and it is stated they followed Covid protocols.Second, the first room they put us in stank of mildew and it wasnt very clean. The room we moved to did not stink, but was not all that clean. Plus, one of the blinds was broken (and I fixed it).WeWe ate at in-house restaurant and the food was good, but the service was terrible. The bartender/server paid more attention to the people at the bar (who were her friends) than the patrons.Sadly, we were looking forward to staying in the grand old hotel, but it disappointed us on so many levels.
This is a beautiful historical hotel with some of the grandest ballrooms I have ever seen. The rooms are updated nicely, large, and beautiful. The staff is so friendly. Someone here knows how to hire really endearing people. The only problem was the shower. Such a beautiful shower with multiple heads and real quartz tile walls. Its luminous. But there is no door on the shower and the water floods the bathroom really badly. We told the front desk and they said they know and its like that in all the rooms. Its too bad, a little design tweak and the bathroom floors could stay dry and the rooms wont smell damp and mildewy.
I know everyone is hurting for staff right now, so I’m trying to be understanding. The building is beautiful from the outside and parking is convenient. However, the room felt old and cruddy. It didn’t seem to have been cleaned well and was missing items— no microwave, no alarm clock, no trash can, no laundry bags. The phone was filthy. The bathroom was missing baseboards. There was room service trash in the hallway the entire time we were there. For one night, we made it work. Had we stayed longer, I would likely have switched hotels. The lady serving in the in-house restaurant was especially kind, so props to her!
Not up to Hilton standards. The room was not clean. Dirty elevators. Missing remote. No bedding for the pull out. The manager on staff was very friendly. He got us the bedding right away. They seem understaffed as there were several people waiting for their rooms to be cleaned. The room was big and had great views.
Staff is nice. Room was cold and it was too late to request a change when we realized the heat was not fixing the problem. Rooms come with feather down pillows and comforters, only a problem if one is allergic, and this one is. Replacement comforter ended up being a thin shabby blanket that I should have declined and asked for better. No refrigerator or microwave, but I believe they could have been requested upon reservation and maybe even later when we arrived. Bathroom was not very clean, which leads one to question how COVID clean the rest of the room was. Excellent Cleveland Clinic patient rate of $99 plus taxes equals $116. Intercontinental Hotel at the clinic was $204 plus unknown but much higher taxes. Did not check Holiday Inn Clinic rates. Will return if we must be at the clinic again, but will request problematic issues addressed before we arrive.
Good location. Dirty room, needs repairs, cleaning and updating. $20/night for parking even if they dont tell you. Location is good if you are going to case western but there has to be a better alternative! As a Hilton Honors member for over a decade, I will not be back!
Built in 1933, this hotel has the look of a charming eclectic experience. In reality it left me disappointed. I excused some of these items due to the lack of proper staffing .The room is spacious and you can see Lake Erie in the distance. There is no much in the way of food within walking distance. The floors in the room need a thorough cleaning. They had not been swept in some time and the dust bunnies have been let to procreate unchecked 😁.The bathtub has paint or lacquer chipping off so much so that we decided to forgo a bath for the kiddos. The hotel is conveniently located to the various Cleveland clinic facilities.Parking overnight is in a gated lot that anyone could walk through. Available for $29 per night.A “continental ” Breakfast was available but it was sparse and was not refilled. Again this was due to understaffing. There are ballrooms on the second floor and a wedding was being held while we were there.I was very disappointed because this hotel has so much potential.
I have never been so let down at a hotel as at this one. The woman checking us in was the kindest. The man in desk was terrible. He could care less if we were standing there holding formal wear until he decided we could check in.The best thing in evening was male bartender. Great personality. The food selection was too limited. When booking at a hotel such as this you expect more. The room, had a desk chair and the worst bed ever. Was not clean right down to stained sheet. Placed another over it to sleep.
Everyone was nice. The beds were excellent the room was excellent.During that week, the lower lobby elevator was not working, had to use steps with luggage and cane. Lunch time the food was very limited but good. No oneanswered the phone after 10 pm. I loved the location because my appointment with my doc was across the street. This is a very old building, doesnt have the new things that other more modern hotels have. Thats what I loved about it. It was very quite, and relaxing.By the time I left, the lower level elevator was working.
It started when I tried to check in. Nobody can check in till 4; really. They had rooms available but I can’t check in, so off to the bathrooms to change to get ready for the event that I was in town for. I felt like somebody that was in the way of their day. Then when we finally got our room, it was a quick drop our stuff off then on to part two. The room was simple and had minor defects like a bathroom door that doesn’t close and one bath towel. The departure date they set up a continental brunch that had coffee that must have been cut with equal parts of water. I regret handing in the ticket since I know that’s how you billed the host.
As a wedding venue, the Tudor Arms is absolutely stunning… and the facility is in every way, 100% ready, willing and fully capable of providing the public with some of the most wonderful weddings that can be imagined. It looks like a castle from a fairy tale. However, the Tudor Arms is barely functioning as a hotel. The accommodations at this ridiculously overpriced dump boggle my mind. Our toilet was plugged, we had dirty sheets, the floors had not been properly swept in I don’t want to know how long. Our bathroom in our room had no functioning ventilation, leading to a serious build up of mildew and mold. Waited an hour at the hotel restaurant for breakfast that never arrived. All of these issues were blamed on Covid and short staffing. I can understand that- but these same short staffing issues were not apparent for the wedding aspect of our time there (thank god) which makes me believe the focus is on weddings, not “hotelling.” I guess this is fine, just hope folks are aware. Have your weddings here, just do not count on the Tudor Arms for accommodations. Buyer beware.
Bed was comfortable, but very low to the floor. Parking and Breakfast were not free, which was a disappointment. The Handicap accessible room was on 8th floor and both the bathroom and main room had slick floors which were not beneficial to one with a walking Handicap. Shower flow was weak, but soap was pleasant and towels clean.
So a bit of a qualifier.. My portions are usually large when it comes to food so part of this may be biased.. So use that as a scale.Went there recently for a wedding. The place itself is gorgeous. The staff was amazing and helpful and still courteous considering how well liquered up some of the wedding folks were. My major personal issue was the food. I got the steak and potatoes. The portion was super small but I do eat a lot so that isnt deducting much. My big issue was that I have had much better steaks in terms of taste in Steak and Eggs choices. Knowing how fancy the wedding was I maybe unfairly expected a fantastic steak. Was far from it. Anything else is easily 4 to 5 stars. Im huge on food though so..
I booked this hotel to attend a wedding for a good friend. Check-in took 20 min. I got to my room to find a dirty mattress and bloody/soiled sheets. When I addressed the concern, There was no apology. Was told housekeeping was gone and I can change the sheets myself and get a $50 credit or I can find another hotel. They eventually offered another room (after stating all rooms were booked), but those sheets were worse. I got a full refund and found another hotel. Beautiful facility, but cleanliness and front staff were very lacking.
My go to place when I come to Cleveland Clinic. Very close and they have a shuttle from the Hotel to there. The rooms are big and some could use a bit of an update but not a big deal. All staff were incredible in every way. So polite, helpful, and so pleasant. We ate dinner there one night and that was also great. The staff in there were also super. The only disappointment to me was that they now charge for parking but that area is so convenient. Love being right next to University Circle and very close to Little Italy. We were there on 4/26/22 and this was my second time there.
The hotel was extremely dirty. Bathroom had a dirty line around the tub, shower curtain smelled like sour milk, there was dirt and hair around rim of the bathtub. The bed had black dust from air conditioner on pillows sheets and on floor, due to filter never being changed. No trash can in the bathroom. When I tried to call for housekeeping you could only leave a message and no one showed to clean the room. Terrible!
If I could give zero stars I would. We stayed at this hotel on 10/8/21 and much to our surprise there WAS A COCKROACH IN OUR ROOM. Not to mention the bathroom floors looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in ages. After coming to the front desk about this issue we were refunded our parking and two drinks which weren’t even 1/4 of what we payed for this hotel. We don’t even see these issues at red roof in let alone a 180 dollar hotel. Manager Frankie was extremely rude and refused any other type of refund. If I could post the picture of the cockroach I would absolutely disgusting. When there’s one roach there’s always more so good luck if you choose to stay here.. hope you like taking roaches home with you. DISGUSTING.
I was recommended this hotel due to the atmosphere. I would rather sleep in my car. The employees were not welcoming and did not tell me anything about the amenities of the hotel. You can hear everything in the hotel as the walls and floors are paper thin. And there is a $20 a night parking fee no one told me about. Do not recommend!
Rooms are beautiful staff nice but to not be told about the $ 20 a day parking until after check in and to have to pay & $7 for continental breakfast which are free at most hotels or $12 for the hot breakfast . The bar and grill had horrible over priced food. took an hour to make a hamburger. I just feel this hotel takes advantage of people at the hospital
The bed was very comfortable. We had a suite, and the couch and chair were not comfortable. There also was only an overhead light and 1 on the desk in the living room. It made it exceptionally to try and read. We had to have maintenance up to our room twice. Once to check the toilet that was running about once every 90 seconds, that they did not fix, and once to replace a light bulb in the shower. In the restaurant the offered your choice of 3 different cold sandwiches, roasted turkey, roast beef, and a veggie wrap, and 2 different salads. I ordered a roast turkey sandwich and the Cesar side salad, and they ended coming back and saying that they had no parmasian cheeses and so it was unavailable.Dont think well be back
Positive: The room was spacious. Negative: The room felt like a slumlord apartment where they fixed things as cheaply as possible or like a furnished apartment in college. There was a wedding and the building was absurdly loud, so there was no resting until the music ended.
Location was convenient. expected a lot more from the hotel than received. Rooms are tired and worn, were not especially clean, there was aged mold in the bathroom, couldnt get timely service in the bar (left without a drink), and was told wed have to wait at least 35 min for breakfast. Paid $20 for onsite parking using the app to check in only to find out upon arrival the parking was free.
Suffice it to state that this is a charming building with a lot of problems due to the age of the building. I initially received a room where the floorboards buckled and had to switch to a different room. Many other rooms had insufficient air conditioning, as per the other guests in our party. The handicap-accessible room for my mother was issued without instructions on how to open the door, and when the power went off that particular door could not open -- she could have been trapped inside!! There is more but I will stop here. Note the staff is very nice about a situation out of their control.
This shouldn’t even be called a Hilton! As a single female, I felt unsafe walking into the hotel as the entrance was not lit and the parking lot adjacent to the building was poorly lit. The foyer is run-down and the “only” window near the entrance makes it look like a vacant store-front. My room was dirty, the staff was mediocre...nothing was even close to Hilton standards. The only redeeming feature of this hotel is it’s location to University Circle. Incredibly disappointed and feel I was robbed of $240 for the night. I’m also a Hilton Rewards member.
Positive: Great location. Nice character and rooms. Negative: Toilet was clogged. Air condition fan was loud and got extremely loud in the middle of the night. I had to turn fan on lower setting to quiet it. AC stopped in middle of night. Reset thermostat and it started working but the vent louvers would adjust.
Expected a three star hotel. What I got was not. Started with dinner. Everything we ordered was not available. This was not just us. I listened to the customer behind us who also had the same issue. This included absolutely no dessert in the restaurant. Then when I went to the room to relax with a bath, there was no stopper for the tub, nor could I get one from service! After waiting for 1 1/2 hours, I plugged the drain with a towel. I then sat down to see all the mold surrounding the tub! What a shame! After a 7 hour drive, I was looking forward to this stay but I will not be back and being a Marriott rewards customer will be calling corporate.
The employees were fantastic and I feel bad for writing this review. But they didnt have anyone working there and the room was a mess with stuff falling off. Our feet were black after stepping on the floor for 15 minutes. The rooms were so gross and it felt like the hotel wasnt even supposed to be open. When we tried to get a different room they couldnt find one even though there was no one there. Employees were the kindest but the management was just awful. The HVAC was broken. The place felt abandoned. Once we got into a room it was still dirty and awful. The bedding is also super scratchy and had some hair one it. Dont stay here it feels like they never renovated it ever.
You know, despite low staff and hotel needs due to the pandemic , the staff members that were available were super awesome. Ryan was very welcoming , friendly and helpful , including the other gentleman on night shift as well as the manager at check out. Guys keep up the great work!!! Thumbs up :)
Got there at 330 and was told not til 4, thats fine, but then waited in line at 4 for 1/2 hour waiting to check in- not a great area around hotel- be careful. said they had shuttle and they dont- they charge you for parking but dont tell you til you leave $21.50 be aware- there is a charge for breakfast unless you want continental which was pathetic. rude waitresses had to flag them down to get service- then we wanted french toast and they said they are out- yet we got eggs with toast? not a biggie but geesh. weird. wont spend that kind of money again.
Honestly, the people have made the stay worth the money! I would love to give a five star rating, however, the flooding bathroom is unexceptable. The shower design is just tragic. Half glass door walk in shower looks great but is functionally a failure. A flooded bathroom equals wet pjs if you pee in the night. A failed house keeping request to replace the towels used to clean up the mess is also, unacceptable. Decent room that seems to be missing a couple of chairs or a couch kept ud available for my father who was admitted to the Cleveland Clinic.
Seriously disappointing stay. Our room was not clean. There was a piece of food in the hallway that looks like it’s been there for a month. It was moldy. Mold in the carpets. We were charged $20 for parking. They did not apply Hilton Honors credits. They were out of waters. The restaurant was out of desserts, and several menu items. The breakfast was awful. This hotel needs to be downgraded. Not a doubletree.
Awful experience. The hotel was short staffed, filthy dirty, my wood floors must have had water damage because they were all popping up (rm. 819). No room service was available. There was enough dust in my room that I could have filled a gallon bucket. My room wasnt even available until 3 hours after normal check-in time. No one called, or let me know there was a delay, so when I arrived I had to wait 3 hours and then I had to call to see if anything was ready. Also, no cookie. Cmon Doubletree, you disappointed me for the first time. I would not recommend.
I have been coming to the Tudor Arms for more than a decade for annual visits to the Cleveland clinic and believe it to be the best hotel in Cleveland by far. Its proximity to the clinic makes it perfect for me, and the staff has been consistently first rate through the years. It is close to lots of stuff, has a good shuttle service and is close to bus and light rail so you can get anywhere in Cleveland quickly, easily and affordably with or without a car.
Overpriced. Like staying at your typical Motel 6. Air conditioner was EXTREMELY noisy, room was small, shower was barely adequate. Dining was so limited that at breakfast they were out of everything except pastries by 8:30 am. I realize COVID has affected a lot of things, but honestly, this was our worst experience in a hotel in years
We were in Cleveland to celebrate a family event (first time traveling in over 16 months due to the pandemic). We had a total of three rooms on the tenth floor, two of them suites. We had lots of issues in all three rooms.Room1: Broken leaking coffee pot. Sleeper sofa mattress was filled with crumbs and bugs and had to be exchanged prior to use.Room 2: Half roll of toilet paper in room at check-in. Requested another from front desk. It was delivered to another room. Had to make two more phone calls to get toilet paper.Gym: had no sanitizing supplies. Mentioned this to the front desk. Went back on two consecutive days - still no sanitizing supplies. Definitely not acceptable when trying to recover from a pandemic.Room 3: Refrigerator had pizza box and left over pizza from a previous guest. Cords on pull up shades were broken. The most concerning problem however involved our hot water in the shower....specifically NO hot water, although there was hot water in the sink. After contacting the front desk, they allowed us to shower in another guest room and informed us that maintenance would address the problem. We were not notified that maintenance had ever been in our room or what they had done. When we again experienced the same issue the next day and called the front desk, their response (Frankies) was less than optimal. I was told that the hot water does indeed work . I was informed that I should just turn the adaptor and that I was doing something wrong. Maintenance had checked it out and everything was fine. After three adults staying in the room tried the shower adaptor, we were finally able to determine that it had been installed backwards!!! Turn the shower water on and you immediately get super hot water; rotate the knob totally and you get super cold water. This is definitely a liability issue for the hotel in that a customer could very easily scald themselves.Upon checking out, I was greeted with oh, youre the problem room. This is definitely not the response that front desk personnel should share with a customer. . Although Frankie indicated there would a financial adjustment of removing the incidentals charges (parking), we will not be staying in this facility again. It certainly does not live up to Double Trees reputation of Real. Attentive. Cheerful. Flexible. Thoughtful. Honest. Caring.
We stayed at TS for a wedding. In the morning, we found stained sheets that resembled blood. The TV for the remote didnt work and there wasnt breakfast because they didnt have a cook.I have filed 2 complaints and am currently waiting for a resolution. The staff was very nice and professional. We were incredibly disappointed.
Ive spent more than 1000 nights in hotel over the past decade, and this was the absolute worst experience Ive had in the developed world. The hotel re-opened last week after serving as a homeless shelter for the past year (as per the gentleman who checked us in). Our room was not available; so we were downgraded to smaller room/bed type with no apologies. The room was not professionally cleaned. We discovered a mouse in a room halfway through our stay. The room lacked basic amenities like hairdryer, iron, etc. Its obvious that the hotel was not prepared to welcome guests - but they did so anyway. Avoid.
The hotel’s power was out when we arrived, but was back up about 45 minutes later. There was also a wedding that evening on the 3rd floor, and luckily we weren’t disturbed by it (we stayed on the 5th floor). The hotel is in an odd part of town, but does have great views and clean beds. The shower was broken, though, and we had to take baths.
Worst hotel experience of my life. when we got to our room, there was a moldy piece of muffin in the corner of the room. and dont get me started on the continental breakfast, which included fruit, old pastries, and some cereal. THATS ALL. no hot foods or anything actually worthwhile at the hotel whatsoever. i expect so much more when booking a room at a double tree
Understaffed. Did not fully clean our room from guests before, had no remote control and lacking other basic amenities. Called to receive a remote control for TV and extra toilet paper but woman at desk was only one working and could not leave desk area. Not her fault or the other employees, but how can you keep a place open and operating when this understaffed
Love the building but the staff was disrespectful and unhelpful. We requested housekeeping every day we were there (5 days) and they never showed up. We had to go to the lobby to get clean towels and toilet paper. Staff acted as though we were bothering them--with the exception of one young man. We will not return.
I was really looking forward to staying here. Its beautiful. I booked 2 nights. I placed to stay because I was in a wedding that was being held there and all the events were taking place in the venue. So 1st problem, I did a bed bug check and the mattress clearly showed signs of a past bed bug infestation and had not been replaced. There was blood on the sheets. When I asked for new sheets I was told there was no housekeep at that hour and I could change my own or go somewhere else because there were no other rooms. Eventually, they did find me another room. I did another bedbug check, mattress was in plastic (✔️), blood and crusty, who-knows-what was on the sheets. So basically, no one is flipping the beds. I believe my total for 2 days was about $550 and the basic standard of a hotel is not being met. Also this would have been disgusting pre-covid, but in a pandemic, completely unacceptable. I obviously checked out immediately. There was no sorry for your inconvenience during my interaction about the situation.
The room was not clean. we asked for room service. and they said, due to COVID-19 they only have room service once a week. We asked for towels and toiletries and they were out. We asked for water and they said to use the vending machines. The power went out twice, for several hours, during our stay with no back up. They charge premium price for services that are not offered. And they are using the excuse of COVID for poor hospitality, while no one is wearing face masks and COVID restrictions are eliminated throughout. I would not recommend any one to stay here!!!
This property has improved in many ways since my last visit. First, attention to cleanliness due to the pandemic, and recent repairs and remodeling have helped a lot. There is no Vallet car parking at the time of my visit, but since I didnt need it, it did not bother me. Check in was quick and the agent explained the billing in advance well. The room was clean. There was a sticker between the door and door frame that indicated that the room had been cleaned apparently to assure customers that a deep cleaning was done due to the pandemic. There was an issue with the room phone not working. A technician came up within a few minutes of my callng the front desk to work on it. This was quick service. However, the technician was not familiar with where the phone plugged in, that there is a difference between the internet and phone jacks and other issues. It took him a long time to determine that the phone itself was bad, and then he took an even longer time to get a spare phone, come back to the room, mess around with trying to connect it to the wrong places again (the previous phone wouldnt plug into these places, did he think someone came in and re-wired the room while he was gone? But eventually the phone was fixed. However I did have to have the desk call me back since the technician never checked that the phone could recieve as well as make calls. The only big issue I had was an incredibly slow check out the next morning. There are a lot of possible reasons the check out process was so long, but basically it seemed that they were not set up with a fast-check out system that a person who only needed to turn in his or her keys and get a receipt could use to get out the door more quickly. The management at this hotel should realize that many customers are going to the Cleveland Clinic for medical needs and that having to spend a half hour or more to check out can cause them to miss an appointment.
Have stayed here a number of times over the years for an annual event I attend. Front desk staff is always great and promptly handles any issues. I like the location and the rooms. However, the quality of the cleaning has gone down and down and this time it was just appalling. Found some garbage on the floor when we first checked in which made me wonder if they even cleaned it. The bathroom is dirty, the walls and shower floor especially, the cleaning staff has been lazy and Im not surprised because the first morning when we were trying to sleep they were talking loudly in the hall right outside our room. I know it wasnt guests because after the first 45min I blearily poked my head out, didnt even say anything just looked sad and tired, she apologized and moved slightly farther down the hall but then kept taking for another hour or so...They also really need to increase the size of the self parking lot, it was ridiculously tight at some points. There were tons of valet spots empty the entire time, they could easily move the divider over since they didnt need that many. Seems like the cards only work to open the gate sometimes, broken half the time.
The Tudor Arms staff were friendly and kind. The restaurant staff were also friendly too. The rooming accommodation provided plently of space for a family of five. However, the cleanliness of the room was not desirable. Be prepared to do a little cleaning or request a touch up prior to settling in.
AVOID IT! They overcharged us for parking after we left - still disputing it with credit card company. The room floor was very dirty when we arrived The buffet breakfast is a joke that had everyone flocking into the restaurant instead. The elevator for unloading belongings was broken our whole stay and the bellman was watching TV even though we had several trips of things for my sons college move-in. We dragged or carried everything up the stairs ourselves. They are primarily an event venue - 3 weddings a week - and when they valet park cars they tell you that if you cannot find parking they wont charge you - no help in finding an alternate spot. Out front you cannot get to the hotel or the parking lot without passing all the smokers around an urn who throw their butts on a sidewalk toward the parking! Avoid this place like the plague! Will never stay here again, even though I will be returning to Cleveland over the next 4 years.
Over all the room was very clean, one front desk clerk was very rude. I checked out a day early bc I didnt know my sister had room for me. I didnt request a refund bc it was later in the day. I got a receipt of what I was going to be charged and what I was charged was higher than what my receipt said. that was wrong on the hotels part.
Check your sheets before you go to bed, arrived late to our room and went to bed without looking (big mistake) when we woke up the sheets were filthy, other peoples stains. Went down stairs and the desk clerk was like uhhhh. I dont know, by the way Yea um the chef didnt show up and they dont have any food to cook anyway, We can walk a few miles down the road to get breakfast (not in this neighborhood bro). And breakfast is still charged to your room. The TV remote didnt work, they gave us batteries but It didnt fix the problem. Power to the neighborhood was out when we arrived and then the fire alarm was going off as we were checking in. Still waiting for them to resolve the problem 3 weeks now. Dont wast your time.
I needed a room for a show downtown, but everything was booked, or way out of a reasonable price range. I selected this hotel, since I am a Hilton Honors member, and it was the closest Hilton Hotel I could find. I used the digital check-in and digital room key, which was super easy. The digital checkout was not working when we left, but the staff handled it quickly and were very polite. The valet staff was excellent as well. The room was clean, and the bed was very comfortable. The only thing I could find that could be improved was the size of the bathroom in the room, it was super small. It wasnt really an issue and is part of staying in a historic hotel. I would definitely stay here again.
This place is pretty great! Staff at reception were very considerate and attentive. Staff at the breakfast service were a little lackluster but there was nothing specific I can point to that was bad. The hotel itself is beautiful, though I do wish there were windows in the reception hall. The location is great too. Im eager to visit this place again!
Outstanding customer service. I felt like one of my best friends was always looking out for me. From the moment you walk in, there is a warm from the staff that will radiate through your entire stay. This building is rich in history and many of the rooms have been update to a very cute modern feel. I book here whenever I’m in town for business. This location is also close to the Cleveland Clinic and other hospitals.
My husband and I had our wedding here October 12, 2019 and it was amazing. We worked with their event coordinator Kristen and with our hired wedding planner... with those two together it was a breeze planning for our wedding! They are very organized and keep you on schedule with planning, which is fantastic. There was constant updates with pricing and decisions as you added or took things away. There was also google docs that showed the floor plans, etc which was super accessible and easy to use! The food is phenomenal and I am not just saying that because we had our wedding there. We have had so many guest after the fact tell us hands down the best food they have had at a wedding. Other comments from guest were that it was beautiful (which really its breath taking) and the staff that worked the wedding were all very friendly and I agree! I am giving this venue 5 stars stars but unfortunate there was a little issue with workers that worked for the hotel. The front desk and hotel sales were pretty rude to me and my guests. There was also an issue where I bought breakfast for the day of and wanted to bring it up to my suite while I got ready. The hotel staff was so rude and would not let their serves bring bagels and fruit kabobs up to our room (even though the servers agreed it was a super easy move and they were willing to do so) so I just ended up having my bridal party go down and grab all the food. One other comment I would like the venue to be aware of is the ladies bathroom ran out of toilet paper and it was never restocked during the wedding. Other than that I would recommend this venue to anyone it was an amazing day!!
Creat nice cozy place. Located in the heart of a cultural area. Building use to be a meca in the 30s for the elite. Now ran by a local company. Building is starting to need alot of tlc. Many hotels in the area offering better quality rooms and services. Management uses building for many reasons to keep rooms full. From housing case western and other organizations. There so many bandages u can use before u need to figure a better business model. Rumored to house Al Capone, false.
This hotel was hit-or-miss. On the surface, it’s a very cool old building that has been given a cool decor. A lot of it just doesn’t work, though. First, the bathroom door is like a sliding barn door, and that is just not adequate privacy for a bathroom. Second, the light switches did not seem to control any of the lights, which was awkward coming back to the room late at night. There was no available spot in self-parking, which still has a surcharge, which required a walk back inside and back out to figure out. Finally, the creamer With the in-room coffee was full of mold. All that said, the staff was eager to help and very friendly. The restaurant was decent but a little pricey.
Nice, spacious rooms, comfortable beds, good location. Drawbacks? Incredibly surly staff except for the valet. The man at the front desk during check in was incredibly terse and unfriendly. The man at the desk during check out was even more so. My husband stood there unacknowledged for a few minutes (we could have understood it if the man had been dealing with other guests, answering the phone, or even writing paperwork, but he WASNT doing anything else. Eventually, my husband quietly said, may we check out with you, please? and the man simply snapped, room? with an exasperated grimace. We dont need to feel like royalty, but please dont make our business feel an imposition. Its probably the last time well stay there.
I had stayed here about 6 years ago and had a pretty good experience. It’s a convenient location between downtown, university circle and the eastern suburbs. But... we were extremely disappointed in both the service and quality of the rooms. The bathroom was tiny to the point where we had to leave all of our toiletries next to the TV. The room itself felt more like an old hospital than a boutique hotel. Horrible lighting, no art or photos on the walls and just an overall underwhelming experience. To top it off, the blinds didn’t work, and the view to outside was a wonderful window into the air conditioning and ventilation units of the building. We didn’t even bother asking for a new room as the manager who checked us in was less than accommodating.Needless to say, despite the convenience of the location, we will never be staying here again.
The hotel is beautiful! Beds are comfortable and our room was a great size. Closet, desk, dresser and chaise. The breakfast buffet was delicious. The elevators were malfunctioning so we had to hoof it up 11 flights of stairs. Other than that, we had a fantastic stay.
Lots of complimentary items, which was awesome!! Friendly and helpful staff!! Room was clean and shower was nice! The breakfast buffet was pretty good, I liked that you could order fresh eggs! The shuttle was great, the guy driving was nice and funny! We didnt use the valet, but thats a cool feature too. I didnt like that we could hear the toilet in the room next door flush.
I really liked the history behind this building. The room was quite large, with nice wood floors. You can tell its an older building, however it is pretty clean. All of the staff are very friendly. Not your typical Double Tree, however it is worth the stay and is only a 10-15 min walk to University hospital and the clinic.
The hotel is awesome, beautiful architecture. Front desk staff very friendly and accomodating. Housekeeping could use some work as it took hour a to get toilet paper and they never delivered extra towels when it was requested. Breakfast is decent, not quite Doubletree standards, buy still tasty with enough options. The breakfast staff is OK, could be a little more friendlier.
We were traveling from New Hampshire to Wisconsin and Cleveland was great stop for rest overnight. We were traveling 4 Adults 2 kids and a baby. We got 2 rooms. Rooms are huge! so amazing to have huge rooms like that for large families like us. Beds were very nice clean and comfortable. Staff was nice Antonio FD staff was very friendly. He also gave to all of us most delicious cookies l ever had. Parking all day is only $20.00 valet is the same price and you can in and out as much as you need.
Quite possibly the friendliest, most professional staff I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. From the front desk staff to the cleaners and maintenance staff. Every single person always had a friendly word or helping hand. The hotel is absolutely fabulous, clean, comfortable just great. We were on the 11th floor and had great views. All in all our 4 nights were excellent
I thought that the hotel was beautiful. It was very fancy which is what I was looking for in a nice mini getaway vacation close to home. The bedding was really comfortable and the staff was excellent. I felt well taken care of by everyone I interacted with. The food for dinner was probably a little pricey for the quality / quantity but it was flavorful at least. Our room did have some minor issues that werent reported to staff during the duration of our stay (but they were reported when we left as an fyi, they werent major issues just more of an observation that should be corrected before the next stay). The hardwood floor was broken in a spot with a piece of wood falling into the floor a bit, there was no ventilation in the bathroom or room in general so things stayed really damp after a shower, and the AC controls were not very intuitive or working (we tried to get the air conditioner to turn on to dry out the air and cool the room down some).
They have the possibility of a gorgeous hotel here. Unfortunately, it fell short and very short of Hilton standards. We arrived at 9. Our cart for our luggage was very difficult to use due to flat tires. When we got to our room there was a horrible smell. We found it coming from the garbage can full of McDonalds !! Before unloading our cart we checked the rest of the room:1. Open wet used soap.2. Wet used washcloth.3. Dirty toilet.4. Trash on the floor.5. Shower curtain tied in a knot.6. One glass with cover ajar.7. Toiletries missing.8. Coffee supplies missing.9. But, the beds were made!10. Oh, and fresh water drops around the sink!My husband went to get someone from the front desk to see this. Precious ( the only helpful person and I want to applaud her she was amazing!), came up and was shocked and disgusted! She promptly struggled and pushed our cart back down to the lobby where we waited over 30 minutes standing there (hungry) while housekeeping cleaned our room again. I made a point that I wanted the beds changed since it looked like someone had just left the room. While waiting:1. My husband was told they could not reimburse us because we booked through a third party, but they would cover our parking and breakfast buffet for the duration of our stay. (We found out the next morning our breakfast was free anyway due go my husbands job!)2. I watched and listened as each new person checking in was asked to wait a moment while their room was checked before they went up!When we finally went back to our room, we saw housekeeping cleaning another room!Inside our room we found:1. Dirty toilet.2. Beds not changed. I know this as the invention from my daughters duffel bag was still on her bed!3. Nasty soap residue in soap dish.4. Tub not cleaned.5. Glass situation the same.6. A previous guests camera battery still plugged into charger on the wall!My husband took the battery and charger to the front desk, who seemed shocked that he was honest enough to turn it in instead of selling it online for a profit! That makes me wonder what happened to it after we left. For being Tudor themed, some of the inside decorations are confusing. The outside stone work needs repaired.I have contacted corporate and was told we would be contacted back in 3 to 5 days. We are still waiting.
The hotels location was central to everywhere that I needed to go. The room was nice although I didnt like the fact that the shower had no door. The hotel had no pool or hot tub but thats a minor quibble. The staff was very nice and very helpful. Although I didnt eat in the hotel restaurant this stay I have before and the food is very good. Ive stayed there a few times before and most likely will again. Id give the experience a 4 out of 5 stars.
This was a really fantastic historic hotel right at University Circle. Our room had 3 big windows with excellent views of the surrounding neighborhood. The decor in the room was nice, especially the windows. Parking is listed as $20 if you use valet or park yourself, but we just parked on the street right next to the building no problem. I think for such a nice place, it was a great value. No more expensive than a side-side-of-the-highway Holiday Inn express. The only things I wish were different would be a fridge in the room, no siding bathroom door which provides little privacy and can bang open and closed and a shower door. The open shower lets too much water out. These are small problems though. Overall it was great to get to stay somewhere so unique and upscale at the price we paid.
This is honestly one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. Especially considering the high price. There was no fan in our bathroom, which leads to both smell and noise. That is disgusting. The wood was peeling off the floor. Our coffee machine leaked everywhere and we had to request a new remote. The bedding was insanely thin. I cannot beleive this place is a Hilton hotel. The person I booked with was also super rude and pushy on the phone. Horrible experience.
This is my first night at the hotel but it is definitely going amazingly well! I traveled 6 hours, pulled up to the valet and everything was taken care of. Its my first time at the hotel, they explained everything to me and off to my room I went. Quiet, clean rooms and I couldnt ask for anything more. The room service at 6am was amazing. I chose the Parisian breakfast and I was not let down.
Saw some complaints about the bathrooms. I could agree that those are a little small, but I have to say I have never been treated so well in a hotel. I put in 100k miles in the air and 60 nights in hotels this year, so believe me when I say, the wonderful people that work here are unmatched. I was alone with 3 kids and no offense to my family, but I have never had so much help. Its a very cool, unique hotel. Rooms are very large and comfortable.
It was pretty good they offer a shuttle car service that we were excited about but it ended up not being useful as it never seemed to be available. We tried to schedule it ahead and the front desk arranged it but then they gave the car away right when we were supposed to have it scheduled. Besides that the parking was expensive at $20 a day but there was free street parking right outside. The breakfast was good but not free for all rooms. The rooms were pretty nice and updated with hardwood floors. The showers were really short and the elevators were so but it was pretty good for the cost and location
The staff was so nice and helpful. The cookies they give out upon check-in were delicious. It is convenient to Cleveland Clinic. The staff went out of their way to accommodate us including using their shuttle bus. We highly recommend. The only thing that we did not care for was their breakfast buffet. We ordered off the menu but the food was not good.
Beautiful building, and very nice rooms. the front desk staff was some of the friendliest weve ever encountered. We rode in the elevator with members of the maintenance staff, and they were extremely friendly too! The waitress at the restaurant was a little lacking in personality, but all in all it was a good stay. one item to note: parking is $19, whether you use valet or not. So be sure to budget for the added expense.
The staff was by far the best people Ive met on hotel staff, for quite a while. The Bar tenders were my favorite though. Great conversations and easy to talk to. The food was good and The beets were cold. The front desk folks were very friendly and helpful as well. Ill stay here anytime I get the chance.
Staff treated me like I was a kid in the place I came with my fiance and had an appointment around the way from this hotel early am. I was here once and never went back to this hotel. It was beautiful so I cant give any less stars but staff was rude even after showing my ID to check in. I paid for room and services in the room. Upon checking out there was new staff who just kindly took the key and off we was. I have since been to Cleveland three times but wont go here.
My wife and I stayed here for our anniversary. It was great. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and fresh. Our room was at the end of the hall on the tenth floor, it was quiet. The valet service was great. There is a lot of nice areas around with in walking distance. The building is unique and beautiful. All around it was a great night stay.
Nice hotel. But very old. Staff is excellent! Shower got plugged up and water up to ankles!! Very close to Cleveland Clinic but had fire drill and had to walk down 11 flights of stairs right before open heart surgery. Should save drills for weekends knowing a lot of customers are staying for hospital visit. Say midday on Sunday to still allow people to sleep in.
We held our daughters wedding and reception at the Tudor Arms Hotel and were extremely pleased with the overall experience. From the planning which began in January to the wedding 7/7/18, the professionalism and helpfulness of the staff was over the top. The hotel has a historic grandeur and beauty that provided the wedding elegance and classic theme we were looking for. Our guests were very pleased with the accommodations and the location of the hotel so as to enjoy all of Cleveland with minimal travel. The staff was more than willing to help with any requests that we had. They were thorough and pleasant with their service. Just an absolute pleasant weekend at The Tudor. Thanks to everyone who worked the wedding.
I have been here for three weeks while my husband had open heart surgery at Cleveland Clinic. The staff is amazing and did all sorts of things to make the experience easier. The shuttle service was particularly helpful. Thanks to Lorenzo, Dennis and Fred. Supervisor of housekeeping, Ashley, tracked down a shower chair for my husband. The breakfast ladies always had a smile on their faces. Great stay here.
We had an amazing stay here! The staff was so friendly and made us feel at home in a new city! The bar is a great little spot to pop in for a bite or drink and breakfast was served in the beautiful Tudor ball room. We highly recommend exploring this historic hotel where you can find the private elevator that was used to Al Capones room! If youre looking for things to do the staff will help you find all the best spots! We will definitely be back!
Absolutely incredible! When we needed a ride somewhere and missed the shuttle the supervisor drove us where we needed to go in his personal car. Some of the best service Ive ever seen! The breakfast buffet is quite good as well. Rooms are very modern and have gorgeous rain shower heads too. Not sure what the people talking about drugs or prostitutes in the reviews were talking about, most of the guests we saw were doctors and business people.
Up until day 3, I would have given it 5 stars. The decor is nice, there is a complimentary shuttle that conveniently has stops at different sites within 2 miles, there is a restaurant right in the hotel, the cookies they give when you arrive are good, and staff at the desk and shuttle are extremely nice. I would just ignore the smell of the room (mildew?) and thin bed dressings (sheet topped with a thin old blanket and another sheet on top). However, on Day 3, I wrote a note to housekeeping and placed it on the bed to ask for a blanket or comforter..it was just taken and ignored. Plus, the towels were folded messily. Later, the care line just said yes,I am very sorry when I told called to ask if this was the typical bedding, as I have been cold the past 2 nights....I could not believe this bedding is supposed to be adequate and you cannot even get another blanket.
The staff was so helpful and friendly. We had gotten into a car accident on the way to Cleveland. Because of that the door wasnt sealing properly. We were going to use the valet service but found out that valet parking was outside. I was concerned about it raining and having water damage inside of my car. The person on valet at that time was SO helpful! She recommended a parking garage close by to park and told us the hotel offered a shuttle service. She didnt pressure us to use valet and was very understanding and empathized with our situation. She and many other employees really made our experience great! I will definitely stay here again in the future.
Came here for a concert. We asked to see the pools as we had to go home the next day. They obliged, it was so cool! Im a huge history buff and getting to see everything was really cool and nice. If youre around during the week, do the tour! Great service and nice rooms
Have stayed here for 8 yrs while going to Cleveland clinic. Would not think of staying anywhere else. Fred and Dennis are the very best driving us back and forth from clinic and to eat. Great friends now after all these yrs. Michael the manager is so kind and helpful. History of hotel and tour is a must!
I absolutely adore this hotel. I booked two suites and a normal hotel room to host the high school dance team that I coach. First, I love then fact that they offered online check-in which allowed me to choose my rooms. This way I could strategically choose our 3 rooms not only on the same floor but near each other and close to the elevator which I hoped for. Weve never been to cleveland and every staff member that we came across was BEYOND amazing. We decided to take the train from the airport and the hotel informed us which train station yo get off at so their hotel shuttle with the awesome chocolate chip cookie on it can pick up up. When we arrived their had their notorious warm cookies readily available and our rooms were perfectly prepped. They provided all rooms with a fridge and microwave as I requested since we were going to be there for 6 days. They recommended a great local grocery store, Daves market, to stock up on food and supplies and even offered to have the shuttle take us. Anything we asked for, they accommodated all the way down to a practice space for my team! Even if we had any issues (more towels, the bathroom sliding door kept jamming, etc.) The easily fixed it with a smile and asked if we needed anything else. The hotels were well kept, nicely decorated and clean. Easy access to the bus and train if you wish to go that route. The kids and I cant wait to to back again next year for our next competition.
We had a two room suite with a pull out bed in the second room. We were meet with warm cookies and bottles of water. Every employee I interacted with during the stay was friendly and helpful and appeared to enjoy their jobs. Windows had adequate blinds to block out the city life. The hotel had great character.
I was pleasantly surprised by the unique feel to my room in this hotel. The room was very open with hardwood floors. The ballrooms were decorated with a somewhat medieval theme but it was tastefully done. My only complaint is that the room service menu was extremely limited and I had to go to another floor to find a functional ice machine and a vending machine with food items in it.
I stayed here during a conference at Case Western Reserve University. What a great location. I loved being near University Circle. The staff was warm, welcoming, and very helpful. I got a fresh, WARM complementary cookie as soon as I arrived. Kwame, who helped me up to my room, was wonderful. I feel as if I made a new friend. Hope they promote him one day soon!! My roommate and I loved our spacious room with hardwood floors and two large, comfy beds. We felt like we slept in luxury. The bathroom was so enormous and lovely, we both took photos to send home. (Imagine, wanting to take a photo of the BATHROOM in your hotel. But if youd seen this one, you would get it).
The architecture and history do stand out. It is not a clean modern chic hotel, but is has character. But character does not make up for some of the gaps. The breakfast service is lacking in formality and some of the staff would be happier some where else. It is old bit the bathroom could use a steam cleaning of the tiles or at least a vacuum of the exhaust vent that was spilling out dust.
As a guest at the hotel, I would give this 5 stars without hesitation. It may have been that I was a bit sleep-deprived, but the bed/comforter/pillows felt like I was sleeping on a cloud: they were beyond comfortable! My suite was beautiful and clean. It featured a kitchenette, a living room area, a spacious bathroom, and a bedroom with two queen-sized beds. The food at breakfast and the wedding I was attending were absolutely delicious. Being there for an event as a vendor and member of the bridal party, I did get to see a bit more of the behind the scenes chaos. The hotel then appeared a bit unorganized in that things were misplaced, misdelivered, or forgotten. When the problems were realized, they went out of their way to fix them, but it was a bit frustrating having to sort those things out (miscommunication seemed to be the main issue); so I would caution that, as with any venue, be vigilant ensuring that things are being taken care of properly and as expected. On that side of things, everyone who I spoke with at the hotel was extremely friendly and helpful. The valet seemed a bit shorthanded at times, but they still managed to get their jobs done in a timely manner. The shuttle driver, Vanessa, gets a special shout-out for being especially helpful, fun, and great at her job: she went above and beyond what I would have expected. All in all, the reception was a blast, and, although there were some hiccups along the way, it really was an awesome and elegant party.
The room I stayed in was in immaculate condition, with a loveseat by the window for reading in the sunlight as the perfect touch. The service was friendly, and the free cookie upon check-in was an excellent touch. My only complaint is that the bedside lights did not work, but that issue is easily fixable and is isolated to one room. I only stayed one night, but if it was at all indicative of a normal stay there, I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
The tutor is a great hotel. The staff is extra friendly, the beds are very comfy. We had a late night ride back to The hotel and The driver was spot on. The history of the hotel is interesting. The ballrooms are worth the stay alone. The only negative was that the tub did not have a stopper for taking a bath.
This hotel is located in a beautifully old (yet renovated) building very close to the Cleveland Clinic, east of downtown Cleveland. The hotel has a local shuttle (though I found the driver to be rude and argumentative about the radius set by the front desk). The breakfast here for diamond Honors members is horrendous. Only the cold continental options are free for diamond members - the hot breakfast options cost an extra $8. The consistency is poor, the waitstaff is mediocre, and this is a terrible way to “reward” loyalty. The rooms are small, but nicely decorated. Modern renovations, especially in the bathroom. WiFi worked well and the bed was extremely comfortable.Overall a good stay, but likely not the best you could find in decent proximity to either the Cleveland Clinic or downtown CLE.
The room was beautiful and people were great however there was much to be desired when it came the the cleanliness of the room. Especially the bathroom. There was grim visible in the shower and the drain was not cleaned as I had to pulled someone elses hair out before showering. Also, my booking was messed up, so I learned that the breakfast buffet was not included only after finishing a light fruit and bacon plate. Most expensive food ever because of that. When I brought it up to the front desk they shoved it off like yes, I know our rooms are not the most well kept and that was all. No apology and for the breakfast charged all was said was yeah that happens a lot. I will not be staying here again. Pick somewhere else if you can.
My room was modern and nice, I assume it was recently updated. There is no refrigerator or microwave in the rooms, glad it was just a 2 night stay. Breakfast buffet was good and everyone was very helpful. The restaurant in the hotel is good, but pricey as expected. Overall, it was a decent hotel.
Great looking old building with a grand ballroom. Usual great service from Hilton. Worst bathroom Ive ever had in a hotel. Rubberized floor that felt like a locker room, and in the shower, never completely dried. No shower door or curtain, so water everywhere. Sliding barn style door had a gap big enough to see completely in to the bathroom from the main room offered zero privacy. Besides the bathroom, the rooms were nice.
The room was big and spacious, however it was old and DIRTY. Was there for a weekend in January to see the Christmas Story house with my family. I woke up and realized i had itchy bites all on my leg. Hauled out of there the next morning and sure enough brought the beg bugs home with us. Spent tons of $$ getting rid of them. NIGHTMARE. Clearly they don’t even clean their rooms. Aside from that, we waited an hour + for more toilet paper they kept saying they were bringing up. Finally, we just walked down to the lobby for it. I wouldn’t ever stay here again. Our room was on the 6th floor. Plus their parking sucks.
We have been coming here for years. It’s a historic building so the rooms are not cookie cutter. Good location near The Cleveland Clinic, Severance Hall, and the Art & Natural Science museums. Love the chocolate chip cookie at check in. The staff is always friendly. Breakfast is made it order or buffet (your choice). We enjoy staying here.
I was there with my team from college. That being the case, I cant speak to the value, only the service/amenities.Our room was quite nice, if nothing special in terms of what was in it. The view was pretty great, where we were had several windows. Its not the most centrally located place in terms of being able to walk places but they run shuttles throughout the day and evening. The hotel bar wasnt cheap, but in line with expectations. Breakfast was better than expected and every employee was pretty fantastic in my interactions with them. There is a small exercise room, nothing special and without a water fountain so you better bring your own water.
This hotel deserves zero stars. We arrived early and the room wasn’t ready but we were told to come back at 2:00. We came back at 3:30 and were told the king suite we booked online and were ‘guaranteed’ was no longer available and would we take a queen suite. We asked if we would get a reduced price and were told no because it was prepaid. Then the supervisor Latonya came over and said they did have a king suite but was dirty. In the process of hearing another couple in the lobby, this was a room two guests just switched out of because they didn’t like it. I asked what was wrong with it they said nothing. They sent us up to the room a half hour later after we asked For an update and upon arriving on the floor, we were told by two others on the floor that the room wasn’t ready. We lug our bags back down and once again we wait. Upon finally getting into the room after four, it is not a pretty sight. The floors have bumps and slants all over, the windows are literally caked with dust, fridge is not stocked, coffee area a mess, bathroom floor wet. We call and ask if we can see the queen suite, and Latonya says they can’t transfer rooms, even though two people just transferred out of this room. While in the room we found a marijuana butt on the shelf of the cabinet under the TV! All corners of the rooms are absolutely filthy as well. I will say Ricki, the bellhop, was very sweet and very helpful and worked to make us happy within her limitations. Truly the most professional and kindhearted person here. Also the only who apologized for our issues as well. Also worth mentioning that no managers work weekends, only weekdays, and when we called Hilton directly, there was also no one to speak with available and the call center girl said she couldn’t help us.
Not very happy with this hotel. While I normally love Hilton’s, this experience has been bad so far. I checked in and got my digital key online, which let me into my room. But shortly after I realized my WiFi didn’t work in the room. Then someone else tried to come into the room while I was in there!!! Very uncomfortable and does NOT make you feel very safe in the room. So I moved rooms, unfortunately to one that is not very clean and without a king bed, like I requested. Overall disappointed in this Hilton experience.I will say, the only positive so far is that the valet staff is amazing and friendly.
The room was very clean and nice. I enjoyed the hotel even though i didnt see much because I was there on business and was not in my room much. The view was great and the people at the front desk were friendly and did thier jobs well. The price was good for the quality of the room and service i received.
Positive: The design that¿s about it Negative: My 3 year old found a pill on the floor and thought it was candy luckily he brought it to his father before attempting to eat it and literally the first time we walk into our room it smells of weed and the trim was off the closet floors with nails showing
Very neat little hotel, vintage, with incredibly nice staff. They gave me their personal iPhone chargers (not one, but 2 of them did!), tried to help me with tennis channel (unfortunately they dont have the subscription). The room was comfortable, very old style - I normally prefer modern, but I definitely enjoyed my stay!
Drove a high school hockey team(Providence) from Chicago , and had the pleasure of Staying here for the weekend. I wish I could give them 10 stars. The staff there are so professional, and super hospitality from everyone. The breakfast was hot, and delicious. The hotel is very modern, clean, big screen tv. I felt like I was in a 5 star hotel. They accommodated parking for my charter bus so I had hassle free access getting on, and out. I just want to great job to all the staff there. I highly recommend them for your stay if you ever get a chance to visit. Oh I forgot to mention the free cookie upon checking in. :-)

2022-06-13I love staying in historic hotels - meaning buildings with a history. They have an ambiance that newly built hotels do not have. Tudor Arms was no disappointment! Restoration to the building was done keeping a lot of the old ambiance alive. The staff was friendly and the rooms were spacious and clean and the price was reasonable for the amenities provided.

2022-06-09Staff was great, but the accommodations are dirty. I cannot believe they are considered handicapped accessible. The roll in shower floor had no treads, it was extremely slippery. I came close to falling twice. The toilet was not raised, and the toilet seat was crooked. Trying to get in and out of the room was extremely difficult. Meeting up with another couple in the elevator commented on the difficulty of the access of the handicap room they had dealt with the prior month. It wasn’t just us. Different levels of flooring in different areas can be difficult to maneuver. Trying to get parking and get to the check-in desk are extremely difficult. They should not be listed as a truly handicap accessible hotel. And besides that once again the facility is dirty. The only bright spot was truly the terrific staff that is currently working.

2022-02-16This is a historical and classical place with great architecture and a ballroom. As many people noted, the management has some difficulties, especially that business travel to Cleveland is declining. They allowed me to check in earlier than the set time, however the room was not cleaned (picture shown). So I went back and they kindly gave me another similar room instead. I booked at discounted price so it is okay, but it they charge full price, I would expect higher standards.

2022-07-01Hotel design is grand and feels like a trip into the past. Rooms are clean and well appointed. Stay is friendly and helpful. Parking lot is conveniently located adjacent to the property. My only complaint was the mobile digital key didnt work at all. This is the first Hilton property where the digital key hasnt worked. Not a big deal though...physical key worked just fine.

2022-02-10This place is gorgeous! The staff is wonderful and knowledgeable. Everyone is very friendly! I took a walk to the second floor to see the ballrooms. Definitely a must see! The rooms are bigger than typical hotels. Wood flooring is a beautiful touch. It is also a few blocks from the Cleveland Clinic campus. They have a shuttle to take for up to 2 mile radius. If you like historical, beautiful hotels, this is definitely a great place to stay!

2022-06-28Positive: Room was large and comfortable, hardwood floors were a nice change. Rain shower was very nice. On-site parking was great. Negative: A few small things. The bathroom door was a sliding barn door which did not offer much privacy when using the bathroom. Our room was next to a service closet with a loud door constantly slamming (not after 10pm however so did not affect sleep)

2022-03-11Positive: The rooms were very modern, and great size. the staff was outstanding. Negative: The breakfast was very pricey and not worth the price. It opened at 7am and only had a few things out. she said they were unstaffed. by 7:30 only fresh fruit was added. way to slow.

2021-11-04The people here went out of their way to make sure my stay was as good as it gets. Loved the styling of the hotel, especially the grand ballroom. It has been remodeled around saving as much of the old architecture. Great buffet breakfast, decent burgers at night. Cozy little bar. The rooms were very nice, comfy beds, spacious baths, great towels! Everything you could expect from a hotel at twice the price. Free shuttle to Cleveland Clinic, too.

2022-06-17A historic hotel that will not disappoint. “Historic” is often code for old and run down. This hotel breaks that mold. The Tudor Arms does a great job of keeping the elegant feel of the 1931 private men’s athletic club for wealthy Clevelanders while integrating modern amenities.Request the historical handout from the front desk.

2022-02-26Red flag1: Super expensive parking, charged by night! $20 / night for a parking lot parking. You have to walk very far from the parking lot to the building.Red flag2: Air conditioners are very old. The one in my room was broken and didnt give warm air.Red flag3: All furnitures are old and look cheap. Very dirty floor.I would give 0 star if allowed.
