The Salvation Army Thrift Store & Donation Center in other cities:
Went in Saturday and was interested in a couch, spoke to lady on staff she suggested I dont pay until I come back with a way to pick it up on monday. When I went in this morning was a different lady and there was a sold tag on couch. I told her I was there for couch she said she had sold to someone else. I explained the story and she said, oh well I sold it to someone this morning and walked away. Very rude lady. Am terribly disappointed as I am in desperate need of furniture and I was there first. I wouldve paid for it on Saturday had the lady said otherwise. I get that its a thrift store, but staff should be truthful and courteous no matter where they work.
A little dusty but not bad for a resale shop. Items are cheap plus daily sales. Do not go on Wednesday. Every thing is half off and it is packed with screaming kids, shuffling old ladies, and baby mama drama (cussing on their phones as they shop). Only other issue is ONE changing stall to try on clothes.
This review is based solely on donating items -I was a bit disheartened to see what happens when you donate items here. It is my hope at least that everyone who donates takes a lot of care in dropping of their items because when you go there, they instruct you to take the items out to large bins in the parking lot. Thats not a big deal at all except that when you go out there, theres so much stuff in the bins already that its almost impossible to be careful (with your own self and the items you are donating) when unloading. I felt bad putting our boxes of items onto other peoples loose items they donated and also was nervous someone may go and put something heavy on the boxes I was bringing. I have since started taking our donation items to the Easter Seals drop off in the Miracle Mile parking lot as when you go there, someone is stationed there and will load your stuff into their bin which makes me feel a lot more at ease that people who can use the items will get them all - unbroken.
Store is dirty, people pee on the floor in the open, employees are crooks and steal from their own cash register and use the money to buy booze across the street. then they go through the donations and take home what they want before the res gets to the shelf. or they cover up what their going to steal until store closing time.some Asian girl was very rude at the register and was on her phone with people waiting in line and said to everyone im not at the register in on break. dont waste your money or time here.

2021-10-28I went here for the first time the other day and the store was very clean and organized. The staff was very friendly and I found it very heartwarming how the one girl was asking the other about her mother and seemed to care so much about her family. I love to see such a good bond between coworkers. They were both very pleasant and I love seeing such wholesomeness at establishments.

2022-02-07Great selection of used goodies. I am so sick and tired of buying new stuff and filling up landfills with old stuff. Prices were good. Staff were pleasant.

2021-12-15Biggest, cheapest selection in Toledo!!! Thrifting is a hobby, for sure, and this Salvatuon Army is the best!!! You can find nice stuff for under $1!!! Crazy cool. Only problem is they staple price tags to their clothes.... 🤷♀️ Kinda annoying to get the tag off, and have a small hole in your shirt.

2021-09-24Love the deals but hate the staples put on the shirts for the price tags. It always leaves a tiny hole in the shirt. And most of the time the staples are placed so terribly. If stapling the price tag is the only option why cant you staple it on the size tag so it doesnt damage the fabric.

2021-04-08Employees were not friendly at all. Stood at check out with two other people for 5 min. Waiting for someone to ring up merchandise. While watching store employee play on phone. I asked her if she could check me out was told that she wasnt a cashier? Didnt bother to get a cashier? Just stood and played on phone. Long hair Braided bronze and blond hair. When older women finally did come to check me out seemed very bothered. This is poor employee actions know matter ware you are?? I was definitely the wrong color to be in this store...Will not return...

2021-05-20Any time I’m in employees are not friendly at all. You can tell they’re either irritated or don’t want to be there. Went to donate in drop box (didn’t know these had a closing time) and the employee who was closing was very rude about it and was clearly irritated by me so I did not donate and will not in the future. She could have simply said “sir were closed come back tomorrow” staff update NEEDED.

2017-07-04Great prices on clothes, not on furniture. Some staff are nice. You can find nice items if you have the time to really sift through their products and clothing. No bathroom. Not very private dressing room (curtain for a door) and only one stall available.

2018-06-21Been coming here for years! Love this place! I always find just what I need and always find something unique and interesting. The folks that work here are cool and down to earth❤My ONLY complaint is that I wish they would update the dressing room. Fun place to shop and good prices too! ❤❤❤❤
