Scammers! The food wasnt bad but they charged 60 bucks for 2 meals and 4 beers. I dont go out often and I have a credit card I use about once every two months which I used this time I visited. 2 days later I got an alert from my bank saying that someone was spending 700$ of different charges from my card that is still in my wallet. You cant tell me that a card I used once in 47 days and never online got compromised by anything other then these people. I will never visit again.
One of my favorite stops ! Friendly people, Ice cold beer and the AC was wonderful as well on a hot day!
The staff is greasy old rude and snobby. The bartender threw our food at us, and gave us 4 dollars back from a 20 (the total was 6 dollars for 4 mozzarella sticks). Trying to pocket money? I bet people spend 40 dollars on 2 beers and dont even know it. Disgusted with the service and food. Trashy bar trashy staff trash food.
The food was wonderful. They have the pierogi special every Friday which definitely makes it worth visiting! Staff were very friendly and drinks were moderately priced.
I come here once a week for Cornhole league. They have good activities each day of the week. Beer pricing is good. Patty and Cathy are both awesome and take great care of us.
I had a coupon from a coupon book I bought from an elementary school child to help raise funds for their school. It had a coupon for the red onion. So I figured Id try it. I called and placed my order. Buy one burger get one free. I was told its dine in only. So. I went in. I was greeted with youre the one that called on the phone.. this is dine in only.. You cant take any with you cant take my left overs???!!!! Really?!! The owner is horribly rude. I asked how I could pay for food and then be told I cant have what I paid for. She said it was meant for two people. And it does not say ANYWHERE on the coupon its dine in only. After asking my question she told me she will not honor the coupon since I was alone and that I should go get your money back for that book. With 1 other person in the bar...youd think she would want the business!
Bartender was super rude. Pretty sure we got horrible service because we were young and new to the bar. Asked for a menu and she told us to “choose quick” because the kitchen was closing..... at 6pm really??
This bar is not gay friendly when PATTY is working...to me this is not acceptable! Me and my wife has been going in here since oct of 2018..Shes been rude to us since day one. So if your GAY u need to go in only when Kathy is working after 7
Walked in and the regulars all stopped talking and looked at me until I ordered. Something like out of a movie made me feel uncomfortable. I only stoked in there because I was meeting my dad for the first time and that bar was near his house and I wasnt. From the area so I stood there because the situation I was in I needed a quick drink.
Food was ok, i ordered mushroom & swiss got American cheeseburger...i switched w my date... I didnt think burger was that good regardless.. Bartender was alright not ppl peson it came off as..Had different game machines and pool tables.
The woman working was so rude. Terrible food and worse service. I dont know how a place stays in business when you treat your customers like you wish they would go away. I wish we did go away.
Fish fry was great! Pierogies were almost as good as my familys recipe. But the service was poor and slow...
The greatest dive bar I have ever been to. The bartender is amazing and so is the food and drinks. If you live in Brunswick or grew up in Brunswick, you have to make an appearance at the Red Onion.
The food was good the entertainment was great the waitress was friendly But the older woman behind the bar I believe she is the owner was so unfriendly and just plain rude we tried to give the business to a local bar a mom and pop establishment we spent a loof money that night but I dont think we will go back
Old timer bar we found while in town. Good food, drinks were great. I would come back for sure if in town next.
Ordered a chicken philly wrap the chicken tasted like it was out of a can no seasoning at all green peppers were raw. Would not recommend going there. The margaritas had no flavor, water did not taste like water.

I go in to the red onion all the time for my parents & use my dads card every time today i go to get food for my parents with my dads card again like always & bc my fiancée and i are a biracial couple the bartender was very persistent we stole the card saying your names can’t be Edward first how would you know that second because we are black our names couldn’t be Edward 😂🖕🏽so i politely said no it’s my fathers i come here all the time to get them food and use this card and was told i couldn’t use the card until i got my parents on the phone and they could confirm we could use the card they refused to let me purchase the food and she kept the card behind the bar the whole time then the bartender pretty much throws the food at us and slams down the card I was very disappointed in their service and don’t think they will get our service anymore very disgusted with this place 😷🤢🤬

2021-09-04Ive been past this joint hundreds of times and finally stopped for a beer with a friend of mine. We walked into the joint and the two women working there had no customer appreciation. We were not greeted and when I joked about something I got a dirty look. We ordered two beers on tap...one Bud Light and one Blue Moon..$13.00 for both and one was a cheap beer. Ill keep on passing this place by again and again because a onion has more social grace then the old bitties that work there.

2021-06-15I love this place. The bartenders are crazy but in a good way. It’s a very home-y feel. Me and my friends come up here a lot for cornhole and trivia. It’s always a good time. Food is really good and drinks are really cheap.

2021-05-173 weeks ago my friend and I stopped in fora couple beers and we played pool. The bartender was less than friendly but did reimburse us after dumping our songs on the jukebox. We didnt eat there and not sure I would. Its a frozen bar food place. However, this is a staple bar in Brunswick. Maybe Im getting old but it was far better years ago. Worth a try if youre looking for a local bar to drink a beer, just dont play White Zombie.

2018-07-26Place was out of date and old fashioned. Nothing in that place is newer than 1980. If you are younger than 50 you will feel very out of place. Only went here to see a family friend sing. However, I can only speak on the atmosphere as they didn’t have anything vegetarian that I could eat that would allow me to review the food. Though I have a feeling that the food is as bad as the atmosphere. People under 40 would be much better off finding a more modern bar or restaurant.

2018-07-30We had a graduation party on the raised wood deck behind the bar. The staff was very friendly and hospitable. Our food was served banquet style in their small party room inside the bar and we ate on the deck outside. Tables on the deck each had an umbrella over them.

2017-07-21Its a corner bar in Brunswick! Friday night karaoke is awesome. He can get any song instantly for you. His mics are above average and actually make an average singer sound great! Food was typical fried fair. Barmaid was less than friendly.
