The food was meh, they cooked my burger to well when I asked for medium rare, and to top off the service was AWFUL. My table and several others were repeatedly looking around for staff and there was none to be seen. We sat for over ten minutes before someone came to take our drink order, which I would understand if I had seen our server running around being busy but the only person I saw was the hostess. We ended up amazing to ask the bartender to find our server so we could pay our bill because we sat for over 15 minutes waiting for her to come back for it. Never again will I go here.
This is a great little place to grab a drink and some food in downtown Granville. They have some outdoor seating and some semi-outdoor seats near the open side. The food here is step up from your average bar, but nothing to rave about. I had the Nashville hot chicken and the Brussel sprouts. Both were good.Service was on-point and we really liked our waiter.
Ordinarily love this place; however, the kitchen manager has instituted a rule that there is no entrees on the patio, only salads. Epic mistake. Hopefully this kitchen manager loses their job and their home(and honestly, their family) and this business can be brought back to their original glory.
Casual pub food. Fries are awesome. Philly cheesesteak was good but bread was like a large hot dog bun. I would prefer it on Italian bread. Focaccia grilled cheese was also good but would like it better if the Focaccia was crunchy. The pepper wonton are great! Very casual &, family friendly . Indoor and outdoor seating.
We travelled from Zanesville to Granville for the purpose of eating the Meatloaf dinner or Fish and Chips, only to be told “we don’t serve meatloaf anymore”, and “you can only have fish and chips at night”, what an utter disappointment, so looking forward to either of these dishes I was devastated to be told we couldn’t have either. I really don’t think that “they kept burning the meatloaf and we’re losing money” is an adequate excuse for not doing a lot of peoples favourite meal. I decided on the Philly Steak which was a huge amount of meat but hardly any cheese which made it taste dry, my friend had a grilled cheese, which was a whopping $12, way to expensive for a grilled cheese on a big bun with again, hardly any cheese. The french fries were delicious though. We also could not get roasted brussel sprouts at lunchtime, so all in all it was a waste of our time and gas to come the distance. We only ever come for lunch, so sadly we won’t be coming back, which upsets me as I love the Pub and the staff are always so nice and friendly. So I guess until you bring these dishes back you have lost two frequent devoted customers.
Friend made a reservation a month in advance, they gave our table away even though we showed up early. Server and manager lied and said we never made reservations even though the maid of honor has proof that we did. Manager called the bride to be a Karen for getting upset. Absolutely atrocious way to treat customers.
The Broadway Pub has quickly become our go to place for my husband and I. We recently moved to Granville and have never been disappointed. We were here when the 1 star reviewer threw their attitude and they were completely out of line. First off the bar told you they don’t accept reservations, secondly how dare you treat the hostess as you did, third the hostess CALLED and TEXTED you when a large table was available but no one answered. They are a very busy and popular bar and restaurant and couldn’t keep a table open that size. I hope you get your mouth washed out with soap and go to church.Thank you Broadway Pub for be incredible and awesome. Your staff, service and food keeps us coming back.
I have mixed feelings about The Pub based on a recent experience. Ive been going here for years and have always had great service and the food is delicious. I recommend the buffalo chicken dip, pub club and a bahama mama to drink! However, my recent experience has honestly terrible. My maid of honor made a reservation a month ahead of time and called two days before the date to make sure the reservation was still in place. There were going to be 8 of us dining, so we wanted to be courteous to the staff since we were going on a Friday night. My maid of honor received a text confirmation of our reservation the day-of. We were taking photos by the old Donatos waiting on our reservation time when my MOH missed a call from the Pub. She walked over to the restaurant and the staff had given away our table because she didnt answer the phone (it was before our reservation time). So, my group went over and were patiently waiting trying to figure out what happened. 10ish minutes go by and no movement or check-in from the staff. I walked up to the host stand and a manager (?) walks up and asks if we need anything, and I proceed to say, Yes, a table for our reservation we made. Our table was given away. And a hostess walks up at that moment saying, We dont make reservations. I wrote her name on a sticky note. At that point, I knew it was time to leave. We were not welcomed at The Pub. So I loudly said, Thanks for ruining my bachelorette dinner! And then manager (?) called me a Karen. It was very disappointing that we were not treated with more respect. If you dont take reservations, why did my MOH receive a text that day confirming the reservation? If you only do call ahead seating, why werent we informed? Most of us have been servers or are servers, so we understand restaurant life and are typically patient. Maybe it was a lack of communication between staff? Regardless, this experience put a damper on the start of a really fun night. I hope to someday give The Pub another chance...but that day wont be anytime soon.
I didnt even know this place was here! Right on Broadway and I missed it. I ordered z draft beer, they have an amazing selection, and a philly cheesesteak sandwich, it came with homemade chips (too crunchy for my taste). My sandwich was delicious, juicy not dry and the Italian bread was soft . My daughter ordered the Pub Mac & Cheese, she said it was the best shed ever had. Lastly, my friend ordered the meatloaf dinner and she ate it all! Service was great too!
Large selection of beers and upscale bar food. Wife and I both had the meatloaf dinner and it was good. It came with asparagus and mashed potatoes. Meatloaf was wrapped in a piece of bacon around the edge with a drizzle of bourbon gravy. Not bad for $10.00. Pricing overall for the food is reasonable. Mixed drinks are of good size. Service was good and quick.
Cannot say enough good things about the Pub! It is by far the #1 place I suggest in the area! Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Beer draft list is always changing to something new and delicious. Food is amazing and well crafted. The few times I have seen a mistake made by the restaurant was fixed apologetically and quickly. Very high recommend if you haven’t enjoy the Pub!
The food at the Pub on Broadway is fantastic! If you havent dined there yet, treat yourself. Love the appetizers and the bourbon chicken is so tasty. The service is excellent. There is some outside dining if you like that. Ive been there a couple of times and plan to go back real soon. Dont hesitate....go and enjoy!
I love this place... this was a awesome Reuben I have had in a while and wifie really liked her club sandwich. It was huge with sweet potato fries and a really good dipping sauce. I had the brussel sprouts for my side which rocked. The service is always awesome - this is a great place to eat in Granville.
We stopped to eat here while on a trip to take my mon to see her alma mater, Denison University. We were warmly greeted, seated quickly, and had amazing service by a girl named Jess. She was super attentive but not pushy! The food was hot (just the way I like it) and very good. I had the fish dinner and was able to substitute a vegetable for the French fries which is always a plus. One of the best cole slaws I have ever tasted. My mom commented how nice it was to have music, but still be able to talk to each other without shouting! This will definitely be on my radar next time we are in Granville!!
This is a 5 star meal experience every time I come. The staff is consistently courteous and attentive. My meals are made to order each and every time. My faves...? The tomato soup is a must! With a side of mozzarella to top it makes this a staple I get every visit. The barbecue chicken pizza is the best Ive had. Its just the right balance of everything on a light crust. The Caesar salad with salmon is UNBELIEVABLE IMO. The salmon is cooked perfectly every single time. The ambience and atmosphere is date appropriate, outing with the guys/gals, or families with school age children. Its a pub so all of the chairs and booths are wooden. Kids may find them uncomfortable. They can put your cheeks to sleep if you hang out for awhile - just giving fair warning.Lastly, its a COVID-19 responsible establishment. Signs are posted and staff and guests are seen observing the guidelines. This is a dining destination you should experience for yourself.
Had a fabulous time and thank you for putting up with us three after being at that new cidery there and Granville but the food was wonderful and our waiter Joe or John he was amazing too! And I love the spinach dip and those wonton things with the spicy sauce! So good not to mention the BBQ was excellent as well!
A really comfortable space with high-backed booths and a really good beer list. I got the Bourbon Bacon burger sub sweet potato fries and my friend got the Reuben. Both cooked perfectly. Our waitress was nice & attentive but not too attentive. It was the perfect place for us to stop on our way from Newark bro Columbus.
Have been on multiple occasions and this is my favorite restaurant in Granville. Both lunch and dinner meals are great and good portion sizes. My go-to on the menu is the meatloaf with mash potatoes. Great combination of savory with a hint of sweet in the sauce on it.
Always great never disappoints. The only thing i would change is their covid related (from what I was told) seating policy. In that they dont allow a call ahead seating, though you have to call when youre either outside or no more than 5 minutes away to put your name on the wait list. Our quoted 20 minutes quickly turned into 45 minutes. On top of the 50 minutes I drove from my house to my favorite eatery in Granville. A town with so much charm with some excellent independent businesses, Broadway Pub being one of those businesses.
We are Granville Residents and WERE long time patrons, especially during the pandemic when local businesses asked for support. We not only gave them our dollar l, but recommended to others. Things have changed. I have sent two parties there in the last few months and both of them had bad experiences with food and service. In addition, management and employees seem to have a sense of entitlement and arrogance. Late this fall, After initially verbally agreeing to making a very SMALL donation to support a golf outing for a child with cancer, they reneged and the manager or owner could not give us the due courtesy of a call back or come see us at the front. Many other local businesses did donate and have made those small donations back 10 fold through recommendations from us to our friends from Columbus and Cleveland visiting our wonderful little town. If you are going to spend your dollar, we highly recommend The newly Revamped Snapshots lounge. Food is fantastic and the people and ambiance are even better! Many other options in Granville that have things going for it other than location.
I had the Meatloaf Entree. The Pubs meatloaf is better than Cameron Mitchells Cap City. The bourbon sauce was delicious and doesnt taste like liquid salt. Bravo!!!I use to work in the food industry, I love to cook and consider myself a foodie. So I was very happy with my dinner. We will definitely be back to try the other entrees.I didnt give it all five stars because I froze my butt off.
This place was great! We came with a largish party during a busy time and only had to wait about 15 minutes which was fine there is plenty of outdoor seating and they give you a buzzer. The food and service was top notch too! I got wings and a Cesar salad and my wife got the Cuban and both were great. I would suggest the dollar upcharge for the fries as they are suuuper good! We will for sure be back!
Impromptu stop by not knowing what to expect and so very glad we did! This place is a hidden gem with so many positives. The atmosphere was cool, sat at the bar because the place was packed but it was well worth it. Our bartender was an absolute doll, very attentive and seem to really enjoy her job and taking care of customers. The food was beyond excellent with variety galore. Definitely will be back!
We stopped into the pub for a quick bite after a Christmas service of carols at Denison University. I had never eaten at the Pub, but there was little else open, leaving us little choice. I am so happy we ended up there, because I walked away an impressed man. I had the meatloaf, which was full of flavor, and the asparagus served as a side was probably the best grilled asparagus Ive ever had. The service was impeccable, and the atmosphere relaxing. We will be back, for sure!
Soooooo disappointed today... usually we love eating here, however the server dropped ravioli w/marinara on our daughters favorite mint green sheer dress AND white sandals. Not only did they NOT offer to pay for dry cleaning, but she comped us a whopping $6. Such poor service that Im not sure well return.
Great Food. Friendly staff. We were there on a very busy day, but we didnt have to wait long for our food to come out for a table of 5. Best spinach & artichoke dip Ive ever tasted! My only complaint... There should be printed beer list at each table. Great place. We will definitely visit gain next time were in Granville.
I wish I could remember the name of our server. He has a lip ring and was just as wonderful as could be. When we were asking each other where to go to eat, we both said The Pub because of the service....and we got him again! The meal was delicious. We ended up talking to 3 different groups of people in there. Friendly atmosphere and wonderful staff. Keep it up! We will definitely be back!
Can not recommend The Pub on Broadway more! They were kind enough to let us host our small rehearsal dinner at their pub on June 21st. Despite us being a little bit late after dealing with unexpected venue issues, they still took us without question! Our server, Jay, was truly awesome and made sure to take all of our orders and made sure none of our party of 12 was in want of anything! Cant wait to visit with my husband again soon!
Update: the owner reached out to me and explained that this was not the right way to handle allergy requests. I appreciated their concern and prompt reply to the situation. I do hope this is handled as she explained it should be in the future.——————They would not accommodate a dairy allergy. They’ve done this in the past, but the receptionist told me they wouldn’t do it. I second guess whether she even checked because it only took her 10 seconds to “check” for me. In the past when I’ve asked, I know they took the time to double check with the kitchen, because I was on hold for at least five minutes. Very disappointed.
We were looking for a place for a cocktail and late dinner. This was open until 11 and was a great surprise. They have a great brew menu as well as food menu. Even though it was late, the kitchen produced excellent fish and chips with outstanding coleslaw. Service was excellent! Next time were looking for a late dinner/snack, The Pub on Broadway is in the list.
Nice place. Newly rennovated. They did a very nice job. Nice beer selection and I have always thought the service both at the bar and tables was fine. While they have added pretty good pizzas to the menu overall I think the menu is lacking. Almost all of the menu has not be revamped in ages. Yet of all the mid range restaurants in Granville this is my favorite.
The pub is my wifes favorite restaurant in Granville, and where we go the most on Friday evenings. Pubs usually have good beer but poor food. The Pub on Broadway has both great beer and great food! I never waited too long for my food either. I recommend the bourbon bacon burger, its my favorite.
Since the booths seemed to be the only preset tables that would accommodate 5 or more and were all full at the time, my family had to ask if two tables could be put together instead of the hosts suggestion of putting a chair at the end of the table. The restaurant wasnt full so it was a little confusing. Our waiter was knowledgeable with the beer selection which was great for us. I had heard the appetizers were extremely good so we ordered them all for the table to share. The buffalo dip was my favorite behind the wontons. Thought the chips were a little stale, but I could look past it since all of the apps were great. I had a nice time here.
The pub food is a notch above what I would expect. It had a lovely renovation, and its a friendly hangout for regulars and families. The beer selection is excellent and ever changing. The servers are friendly, experienced, and efficient. Check it out! Try Taco Tuesday or the delicious weekend specials!
My boyfriend and I could not decide where to eat on a Sat. night in Granville and the Broadway Pub looked pretty good. I wanted to watch the ND game, so we had to have a place with a TV. The restaurant is very clean and the bartender was more than happy to turn the TV channel for me. Our server wasnt bad, young guy who could have used a few more training sessions, actually a lot more training sessions, but the food was good. Their menu has too many items on it. Took us forever to decide what we wanted. It was like nothing ***really*** stood out to us. We had the pepper wantons and the spin and art dip (they didnt come out together like they should have, but that was okay, we were taking our time). I got the red pepper hummus and the house salad for dinner. The hummus is pretty good, has a nice bite to it and a lovely lemon aftertaste. What I really liked about the hummus is that they served the correct kinda pita with it and it was perfectly warm! My BF had the meatloaf sandwich, and he thought it was very good. The skillet corn didnt have much taste, though. I would go back again, but only after I try the other places in Granville out. Oh good beer selection too! And they have decent wine, as well.
We sat at the bar and the bartenders are really nice and their service is good. I ordered the grilled chicken basil sandwich with chips and it was very good. My husband ordered the habanero wings and he said they were cooked perfect. If we are in Granville again, we will definitely stop again.
One of the last places in beautiful downtown Granville where you can cool off with a good food and beer.Waiters very attentive to customers, food generally good, have not find anything that I do not like yet.Great place for a quick lunch or unwind in the evening.Nice place, good service, amazing downtown, perfect for any evening out walk and chill.
We really have seen this place become a popular destination since the remodel. It is very nice to sit up front, especially when the windows can be open. Besides the attractive decor we enjoy the food. Favorites are the fish and chips, the Rueben and the meatloaf sandwich. Lately we have been here a couple times a week.
The pub what can I say. Amazing for sure. The burger with the bacon and bbq sauce mmmmmmm.. The chicken pesto was just as amazing.. Joel our server knew his menu and it was a pleasure to have him wait on us and just to talk. Great job guys. Keep it up for another 15 years.
Stopped in for lunch on a weekday. Service and food were fantastic. No complaints. Except for this one: the Brussel Sprouts need to be prepared differently. They appear to be whole, steamed sprouts which lead to a slimy interior with too much bitterness left behind. I would at least cut them in half and fry em up. Flat top fry, deep fry - doesnt much matter. The point being that they will taste so much better this way. Seems like a poor decision by the kitchen to steam them. I witnessed other tables take a bite of the sprouts and make the same face I did - the what did I just eat face. Worst Brussel Sprout preparation Ive ever had. Still gets 5 stars. The sprouts get -12 stars.
This is Granville’s most popular restaurant! The food and drinks are great, it’s a great atmosphere, and the service is good too. The food has never been bad and my family and I are picky about food quality. The prices are fair and affordable. You can also sit at the bar and get still full service if you don’t want to wait.
Atmosphere of the pub is very welcoming, but the food and service needs improvement. Our appetizer of chicken bits were cold and hard as rocks. Ordered the Cuban sandwich and sweet potato fries and both were awful. The ham on the cuban looked like fried spam. Its not that hard to make bar food, especially when no one was there on a Tuesday night.
Used to be my favorite place. Still a great location and the staff is friendly. But had my worst meal there on Saturday. The corn beef Ruben wsa about 80 percent sauerkraut with only scraps of meat. This happens to resturants when they get complacent or are afraid to raise prices.
Very nice renovation results and I was pleased to find Stone Enjoy By 4.20.16 on draft. In an otherwise uncrowded bar with seemingly plentiful staff I sat with an empty glass until I ran out of time and patience. Finally had to stop another bartender to ask for a check. In that I dont often get a chance to stop and drink a couple beers in a bar, it seems a shame to have sat there with an empty glass for 20+ minutes.
Location, selection, cleanliness, service, quality of food and atmosphere were all outstanding! We stopped for lunch after biking and were thoroughly impressed. So much so that we drove back from Dublin the next day just for the food. And we were not disappointed. Highly recommend.
Loved the fried pickles to start, they were on point, full spears (not just chips) breaded and fried to hot bar munchie perfection! My wife had the chipotle BLT (a mildly spicy spin to the original) with house made chips and I had the bourbon bacon burger cooked medium to jucy flavor perfection, I got the coleslaw instead of chips and it tasted very fresh. We both got ice water cause as you can tell from above we are extremely health conscious 😉 I also got a beer, and Im ashamed to say I forgot the name but i do remember it was a very flavorful IPA from michigan (who knew something good could come from there😉). Our bill for the two of us was $35 and some change before the tip. Having had a lot on our mind, I feel horrible for not remembering our waitresses name but she did an awesome job, she even made the choice of the IPA I got and it was a good choice for sure.
This is a nice looking and very loud pub. The food is average, my Turkey Rueben was mostly bread and Russian dressing- very little meat. Service was slow, took a very long time to get drinks, then the food was slow - but they were quick to ask us to leave so they could give our seat to newly arriving customers. All-in-all, not a bad place but there are far better options.
Twice I have stopped by The Pub to have a bite to eat. First time I entered. Sat at the bar for over ten minutes without being acknowledged. Finally left when the bartender decided to serve two customers who came in well after I did. Yes, they were better dressed than I (I was wearing jeans, a wool shirt and sweater. They were in sport coats.) It was apparent I was not to be served so I left. The second time my wife and I asked for a table for the two of us. The server took us to a table that was, for us, to close to the noisy bar. We asked for the next table over as it was a little quieter. The server said he could not sit us there as they had a seating chart (meaning the server for that table had already had one seated for the next patron had to be seated in another section). I told him no, either we get the table at which we will be more comfortable or we leave. I dont think I have ever seen a more blank expression on a serverss face. I waited a few more seconds while the server stood there giving me the aforementioned blank look. I used to work in an more upscale restaurant than The Pub and, regardless of the server rotation a if tables were available, you would give the patron the table of their choice. I have given them two chances and I will never be back. If you are looking for a good meal where you will be treated with respect, Try either Brews next door or the Mexican Restaurant down the street. Avoid The Pub.
After moving to Granville a few years ago, my wife and I wanted to enjoy a good local pub. We gave The Pub on Broadway 3 opportunities, and we were disappointed each time. It is usually crowded, so we tried to give staff the benefit of the doubt, but waiting 15 minutes after being seated to even be noticed and get some water was too much. The food was unimpressive and bland, and the wait staff couldnt answer basic questions about cocktails. If you drink here, stick to beer. Go to Snapshots lounge down the street- it is the complete opposite.
Great food. The location is not set for heavy traffic and during the busy hours this can be frustrating. There is no room to get in line for a table and if you are in line some folks dont know what a line is and cut it.My recommendation would be for the person taking names for tables to go around and interact outside instead of dealing with everyone in a super crammed area as people are entering and exiting the restaurant.
We are locals here in Granville and this place is a top pick for us. Locally owned and has a great vibe. This place is worth checking out if you are in town and are looking for a place to grab a bite. Usually has a little wait but it is worth it. Hang out on the benches outside and enjoy Granville.
I ordered a to-go cup of soup for lunch and when I went to open it I literally thought half my soup spilt. The container was half full, for a $4 soup! If you are going to have cups and bowls for sale you should probably not serve them in the same container. It looks cheap and honestly makes people question opening up something that isn’t full for a high price.

2022-06-13My family and I ate here on Memorial day,it was very busy but they managed very well. Started with drinks the guys had beer, my sister and I had lemonade and my niece had wine.I was the only one who had a salad, nice, crisp and fresh. Then onto our entrees. I had the Philly cheese steak- nice, hot cheesy. My husband had the fish and chips-large batter dip fillet very hot and crispy, my nephew had the meatloaf dinner with mashed potatoes and asparagus. My niece had the hummus wrap-- very full wrap, my sister had a club sandwich with chips big sandwich and my brother in law had one of the big burgers. Everything looked delicious but I can only speak for my Philly cheese steak and my taste of the fish. All in all a very good experience!

2022-03-06Very cool little place, the weather was perfect and we had seats by the big open windows at the front of the restaurant. Service was great, friendly staff, clean. Ordered the pub Mac and cheese with chicken. Highly recommend!

2022-01-31This has been a Granville staple for my family and friends. The beer selection has always been solid and refreshing with new flavors to try. Food is the same way. However since the change in management, everything feels lacking. Service is great. Wait staff and bar staff are friendly and enjoyable. However food is hit or miss in how it’s prepared. Takeout has either missed food items and I need to return or prepared incorrectly. The staff have been the same for a while so I wonder if the change is from the top down. I look forward to editing this review to 5 stars but for now we will be ordering from here less often.

2022-06-06This place was hopping for a Monday night, but many other establishments are closed on Monday nights. Despite the hustle and bustle, the service and food were exceptional.

2022-03-08Great food and good draft list. Nashville hot chicken sandwich was delicious. The atmosphere is awesome. Im not usually a salad guy, but their salad was pretty good. Well be back for sure.***Edit while the chicken sandwich was good the boneless wings with Nashville Hot flavor was underwhelming.

2022-04-08Excellent local spot for a bite to eat. Stopped in at the height of the lunch hour - no tables available but the bar was wide open. The bartender (Cassi) did an awesome job hustling behind the bar. She kept up on our drinks, got our orders correct, and was very pleasant without going overboard. Even with the busy rush she stayed on top of things.Being a cold and rainy day when we were there, soup and a sandwich was perfect for warming us up. The Cheddar Ale soup was excellent as were the Bourbon Melt and the Hot Chicken sandwiches we had to go with it.The bar was fine to sit at and a great option given how busy the place it. There were two people who were waiting for a table when we came, and were still waiting when we came out almost an hour later.

2022-07-19Really enjoyed the food, my dinner mates had a nice selection of well made drinks, the Moscow Mules were very nice (and served in the proper brass cup, too!), The Gin & Tonic was tasty as were the others. My son and I had the chicken pesto sandwich (yum, nicely done), the salmon was very nice, as was the margherita pizza. The service was also top notch. No complaints at all, only compliments.

2022-05-22We love coming here and the service is always great, but we just wish they brought back specials. They were always so good and we looked forward to what they would have but now theyll have specials once in a blue moon. Also wish theyd change up the feature vegetable so its not always asparagus

2022-01-25The food was pricey and just ok and the service was SO slow. We waited an hour just to get our food.
