Hands down the best bagels in the city. You will never want another bagel again! The price of a dozen is pretty steep but it is well worth it. The cream cheese flavors are excellent. There are only 4 flavors - plain. Sesame, everything and sea salt/herb. It’s a bagel you will enjoy top to bottom. Both sides of the bagel are equally tasty!!! I love ordering the bagels online and picking them up on an early morning, ready by the time I get there!
The namesake sandwhich was great! Really enjoyed the quick-pickled cucumbers and didnt miss tomatoes from the classic sandwhich contents at all. Bagel itself was excellent - great texture, structure, and flavor. Lox (and everything else but the cream cheese) is done in house. This quick stop left me wanting to come back to the city just to try the rest of the menu and the coffee they serve from Little Wolf roaster out of MA.
This was a very nice experience. The staff was very nice. The establishment was clean. Everyone seemed to be working well and together. Took about 10min to get our food but we didn’t mind the wait. It has limited outdoor seating. Bagels were delicious, same with the coffee. We will definitely return!
We were heading home after a long night at ER , and decided to grab some bagels at this place. I was shocked how nice and sweet their workers. I felt welcomed from the first second, very professional and fast service. Bagels were freshly baked and delicious. Please bring your business to Findlay.
Not only were we standing in the pouring rain while the staff watched inside for us to order, not allowing us entry, but the awful, rude manner received from the person taking our order was incredibly repulsive. We will unfortunately not be back. The small size of cream cheese for $4 was anything but authentic. For an ounce of cream cheese. The bagels werent boiled. They were stale and cold. The only thing colder and more stale than the bagel was the poor service. I support small business, and was almost to tears w our lack of service, wanted to drop the bagels and creAm cheese in the door way after paying and leave it was that awful.
Best bagels..... and worst coffee in Cbus. Lox is supreme w anything to do w a bagel. They do a ton of volume so service. Although perky and friendly, can lag a bit. The coffee is, for me, undrinkable. I have gotten it three times and it is consistently awful. Just walk across high street and down half a block for good coffee.
I had the everything bagel breakfast sandwich. The bagel was on par with most good NYC bagels and well above typical chain/grocery store bagels in Columbus. Id put it right in line if not slightly above my other favorite everything bagel in Columbus from Blocks. I like that Lox wraps the sandwiches to make them easier to eat on the go. The only ding against them would be the price. Its nearly 2x as much for the breakfast sandwich. It was definitely better but possibly not 2x better. The cold brew coffee was also very good.
FINALLY!!!!!!!!Bagels that taste like they were made in NEW YORK CITY!!! Lox heaven WITH capers!! Great little location, easy parking BUT even if you have to walk here it is MORE THAN WELL WORTH IT!Tried the everything bagel with lox and cream cheese EXCELLENT. And also THE LOX with capers, onions, cream cheese and cucumbers. Also OUTSTANDING.WE’ll be back in a NEW YORK MINUTE!!Joe and Patty Evans
Delicious little bagel shop right off High Street with a simple menu and quick service. I went for the egg and cheese sandwich (add lox, of course) and the potato croquettes. Fantastic!Went back for round two, just as pleased. This time for the egg and cheese with the pastrami on the everything bagel. Absolutely dynamite.
I had a sea salt and herb bagel with lox cream cheese and it is fabulous. Omg so good. The people are really friendly and nice (and obviously all hands on deck for the opening). When we arrived, they let us know theyd changed their opening time to 8 instead of 7, so not everything was available. As good as the bagel was, though, im not bummed at all.Their coffee is also excellent. 😁
I had the sea salt and herb bagel toasted with scallion cream cheese and an iced coffee. The bagel was delicious and great. 5/5 for quality. However, it is very small and priced pretty highly for the amount that you get.The 16 oz iced coffee is ~3-4 dollars and is not good. They use regular coffee and not cold brew so it gets watered down by the ice. It looked like a mild iced tea. Adding cream didnt help the complexion.I will be back for a bagel if it is convenient and I am not feeling so hungry. I will not get an iced coffee from here again.
Perfect place. Love the branding, love the bagels, love the cream cheese/shmears. Sea salt and herb bagel is among the best and sesame bagel can hold its own against some decent NY bagels. Beet and thyme cream cheese is SO gorgeous and inventive! not to mention, delicious.perfect. place!
Best bagels in town by far. Sandwiches are unique and worth every penny. This place is deserving of more than 5 stars. Their customer service is the best of anyplace I have been to. Always friendly cheerful and willing to help. I find myself there 2-3 times a week grabbing a bagel in my way to work.
I am willing to make the drive there. Best bagels I have had in Columbus. Fresh and tasty. Their different sandwich’s are worth every cent. I sort of like how you order outside now and they bring it to your car. Took a little getting used to since the experience changed. Highly recommend the beet cream cheese.
I really wanted to like this place, but after trying it twice Im not impressed. The coffee is actively bad. The orange juice we ordered was prepackaged. The bagels themselves are decent, but nothing to write home about and on the expensive end. The best part is definitely the sandwich combinations and the decor.
An exceptionally pleasant staff are there to greet you and help you select a meal. The atmosphere is lively, beautifully decorated, and has just the right music playing in the background.Happy to see this place make it past a year. Its sure to become a staple of the Short North community.
If you like bagels do yourself a favor and get these. I can’t go anywhere else. My favorite is the sea salt and herb with artichoke cream cheese. Absolutely bomb. My dad is from NY and requests these every time he visits - he is a bagel fiend! This place is worth the price and will not disappoint!
First time trying, and I had it delivered. I was super impressed with the quality of everything thing I ordered. I am not a breakfast sandwich kind of person but I got a egg and cheese bagel with avocado and bacon added. It was delicious, this is absolutely my new favorite place. I also wanted to try the fried potato, it was almost liked fried mashed potatoes, super yummy!
I wonderful small place with a few outside seating spaces. Theyre well prepared for customers during the pandemic by meeting patrons outside and taking orders. Theyre quick to fill orders. Theyre friendly and efficient. My bagels came to me very warm and I was tempted to eat them right there and then!
Woof, these are some amazing bagels. Like, I drive out of my way to make sure I have a chance to get these bagels. And they are quick, too -- call in an order, call when youre in the parking lot, and youre in and out. Even when they are busy, theyre fast. And these bagels are worth waiting for, if it comes to that. I have had them all by this point. Even if youre not vegetarian, I highly, HIGHLY, recommend the veggie bagel. And yes, I am writing this review because I just had a pastrami bagel, and Im so happy with it, as usual.
I won’t eat most commercial bagels. Seems no one boils and bakes them because it’s too expensive; American corporation’s obsession with producing industrial food garbage. Bagels here are top notch. So are the potato croquettes and fried chicken skins. Excellent experience. That said, no bagel sandwich is worth $13. Nor is any dozen worth $24. Sides and drinks are priced fine but bagel sandwiches are overpriced by 30%. And that would still leave a generous profit.
I am a New Yorker and I know a good bagel. They bagels here are good. Staff were very helpful. They did not have the tea I wanted with my takeout order. When I left I realized they had slipped not one but two bagels in my bag. That was awesome. Highly recommend this great spot.
Growing up on the east coast, I compare every bagel to what I grew up with and also make. Yes, I make NYC water bagels. These bagels werent as dense as I am accustomed to and the everything spice was just a bit off. More salt came through than any other spice. I was disappointed that they have no rye and was told that they will have it for St. Pattys Day. Why? Can anyone explain that to me. My SIL Is not only Irish, but born there and dislikes rye because its so foreign for her palate. The service was good and very friendly but we got charged for an extra bagel. No big deal. If we are down in the short north, we might stop, but I suspect we will just drive to Bexley and get Blocks bagels instead
The food here is absolutely delicious. The bagels are exactly what you would expect from a New York bagel. The staff is friendly and helpful. The pastrami is soooooo good!! I love it on their everything bagel! The coffee is also great. I highly recommend this place. The atmosphere is great too, the kind of place I want to go for a bite to eat and then hang out and do some reading.
Absolutely delicious! I ordered the lox bagel on everything. You can tell they use high quality ingredients (the lox and the pickled cucumber/onions were SO fresh and SO flavorful). I also really appreciated that when I was eating the everything bagel, most of the seeds and toppings actually stayed on! Most places they all fall off all over the place. I think this is a must visit in Columbus if you appreciate great food!
Lox makes great bagels. I got a breakfast sandwich with sausage on the sea salt and herb bagel; all the flavors were perfectly balanced and the bagel was firm without being chewy. It was relatively feeling and didnt leave me sluggish like a diner meal might. However, its hard to justify almost $12 for a bagel, egg, and sausage. Its a great meal, but the value just isnt there. Definitely recommend stopping in and trying, but price keeps it back from being an every weekend stop
The food is always amazing! If youve only ever had pre packaged store bought bagels, youve never had a bagel. The Lox is stylish, fast, delicious and the customer service is top notch. Its a restaurant, so mix ups happen. Thats life. But they handle everything so well. By far one of my favorite places in Columbus
Bagels were good, up there with the best Ive had in Columbus and might even be passable in NYC. Shout out to the potato croquettes, which were almost perfectly seasoned (maybe a little heavy on the salt) and were perfectly fried. Counter service was prompt and helpful and my food came in a reasonable amount of time. Space is set up well and has wonderful natural lighting. Somewhat expensive, but definitely delicious.
Had the lox bagel and it was delicious! Props to the talented team and the guy baking all the bagels. Great customer service and will definitely be back!PS: That cute girl rolling and mixing all the dough back there is so sweet and amazing and makes the best bagels I’ve ever had the pleasure to eat.
Quality of the bagels and lox’s 5 starsThe half hour of waiting that it took to get the bagels (we were told 20)That being said, I really really enjoyed the lox’s when I did eventually get it, but you should call ahead and pay when you wake up so that way you eat at the time you want. The quality of the salmon they use is very good, and the bagels are very good, worth the ordeal and larger cost.
Fantastic shop, beautiful modern design, and outstanding bagels. You can watch your bagel being baked and prepared in front of you. The owners were working at the time and were very nice and welcoming. This is a must see if youre looking for a high quality bagel in Columbus.
The staff that works here is amazing. My girlfriend messed up my order and forgot to add sausage and they were totally accommodating despite closing in 1 min (sorry again guys 😅). They definitely earned a lifetime customer in me. I wi be back every time I visit the ol Alma Mater. #GoBucks
Finally a good bagel in Columbus. Been there 3 times as of this review and each time the bagel has been fantastic. Its not a huge ball of dough shaped in a bagel form. These are right sized, have a delightfully crusty chew and taste like a bagel. This wandering Jew give them 2 thumbs up. Would be 3 but no bialy...yet.
Yum! I stopped in on my way to work and was very satisfied by everything. I got the Lox on an everything bagel and a coffee. I liked how they had the option of a Guatemala or blended coffee. They took my name and it was a couple minute wait. I appreciated that when they called my name and I looked up, the employee was right there to hand me my bagel. Its little gestures like that that mean a lot. My bagel was delicious. I saved the second half for later. Its so filling. I hope to go back to Lox again and Id recommend it.
It is amazing they don’t have as many options as a bruggers bagels but what they do is perfect. Everything is amazing and they have different foods from around the world like Cuban or you could just do cream cheese and jam. But anything you order will be amazing! They also so have amazing fried potatoes!😎👌
I got an everything bagel with plain cream cheese and my bf got this avocado and turkey sandwich special on a plain bagel. I also got a bloody mary which even though it was a the already mixed together kind it was really good and probably my favorite part. the bagels are a little overpriced, and I wish there was a little more variety in the menu
I was excited to try this place but have to say I was very disappointed. It was really expensive for what it was, especially as it didnt come with a side. The pastrami to me didnt really taste like pastrami, and all I really remember from the experience was a greasy mouth-feel and a lot of mustard; I honestly cant tell you what the bagel was like because I cant say I noticed it much!
I ran across this spot after a couple days in town on business. I was staying at the Hotel across the street and wandered in. Wow. Amazing food. As someone who works in the industry I love when I go somewhere that truly knows who they are. They have the perfect vibe, excellent food, and staff that is truly interested in what they are about. This is my second trip to Columbus and I have eaten there three times.
I would suppose that dining here 5 days a week since the opening would speak volumes to how much I love this spot. The freshness and quality is truly unmatched.I used to have to seek out bagel breakfast sammies whilst traveling, now I have the best thats out there in my backyard!Do yourself a favor and go, you will likely find yourself bribing people at work to bring you some on their way in as I have.
Ordered online around 10:40 for pickup at 11:00. Arrived at 11:02, but it wasnt ready yet... No problem. I was attempting their drive thru pickup, and was told to pull over to the side, since the lot was full. One order was brought to the car, but it was for someone else, I gave the staff member my name, and she went back inside. At 11:15 I exited my vehicle to check on my order, another staff member went in to check... The staff member did not come back out with an update. At 11:25, I faintly heard another staff member calling my name to the many people standing outside, waiting. I exited the vehicle to confirm it was mine. I rarely leave unkind reviews, but I was never offered an update on my order, I was never offered a reason why it was taking so long, and wasnt offered an apology for the inconvenience... And even after three staff members knew the name of the order for the women in the car, i still almost missed the order call. Two stars because the $14 bagel sandwich was delicious.
Good first impression. They did a thoughtful job renovating and decorating the space. The bagel was fresh and tasty. Had plenty of staff working so was pretty efficient for a brand new operation. Certainly excited to see something different in the short north and I wish them great success.
Beautiful space at a steep price. My brunch order of the signature sandwich, the Lox ($12), and a bottle of San Pellegrino ($3.50) left me wanting. The sandwich was very tasty, but was surprisingly small and left me unsatisfied. The restaurant space is very chic and staff was ebullient, just dont expect to leave with a full stomach.
So do not waste your time andJustGo somewhere else unless you have about an hour to waste. No sort of order to the mess outside of people waiting to order and people waiting to receive their order. I waited for a server to go get a tablet and cane back out to deliver orders. Got fed up and left.Plz really go somewhere else if you do not have an hour to wait to order
This place is definately A DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH!!! Its off of High Street and faces Warren Street. (On the corner of Pearl Street and Warren Street.) Its definately worth the hunt to find. The bagels are by far the BEST IN COLUMBUS! Everything is homemade the way it should be. You can tell the products are fresh corners arent cut. The atmosphere is clean, organized and accommodating. The staff exceeds your expectations and the owners are right there working in the trenches beside their staff. I PROMISED YOU, that you wont be disappointed!!! Try it! Youll LOVE IT!!!
Cool spot, friendly staff, was excited to go here since moving to the short north but the amount of cream cheese/other spreads that were put on the bagels was disgusting. My group spent our time wiping the toppings off with napkins and saw other customers doing the same.
I know this is hard times for all but I ordered the lox bagel with egg and coffee. It was over $17.00 and not that good. I am from Florida and a bigger better sandwich and coffee is un der $10.00 Are they charging more to make us the lack of business? Price gouging is illegal in many states.
Heres the weekend experience at The Lox: you stand in line for 20 minutes, pay $15 for a bagel and coffee, hover over tables until someone leaves, and then you hear your name called, and you eat an underwhelming, overpriced sandwich and drink bland coffee all the while people hover over you, waiting to immediately sit at your table as soon as you stand up. Its a stressful experience. You can get a better bagel sandwich down the street at Spinellis for a third of the price.
I havent even received my food yet, but just saw an amazing show of goodness. Couple guys walked in without a card to pay, as cash is not accepted which is very understandable in todays world. He said, do not worry, I got you. Help me keep this store here forever. Amazing.
This place is fantastic. Everything is so flavorful and the atmosphere is great. The staff is incredibly friendly, and you can tell they just want to offer good food and good service, which they deliver. I brought a bunch of coworkers and they loved it too. 10/10, would recommend.

2022-06-30The staff here is very fast and friendly. The owner was in the shop which is always a great sign. Our food came out perfectly. My wife had the breakfast sandwich and loved it. I had an open face lox bagel on the salt and herb bagel. The lox definitely tasted house made and the cream cheese was thick not airy like most places. The bagel texture was close to New York but not exactly the same. This place is definitely on the pricer side but thats probably due to everything being made from scratch. Overall we had a great experience and will be back again with friends and family.

2022-03-23Ordering was kind of confusing? There was a long line upon arrival Saturday morning. Decided to order online instead, but I think that actually took more time. Not very spacious inside but delicious selection of bagel sandwiches. Many varieties in bagels, cream cheese, etc. Also kind of pricey, but a pretty good lox bagel!

2022-03-14The staff was amazingly friendly when we walked in. The bagels are very fresh. I ordered a Cuban and my spouse got a tuna salad. Both were fresh and very flavorful. They were also dog friendly!

2022-03-15Best bagel sandwich I’ve ever had! Delicious sausage egg & cheese on a sesame bagel! The coffee was strong but good. The beet cream cheese was alarmingly delicious as well.

2022-02-11I am not the worlds biggest bagel fan, but I enjoyed my sandwich here. The bagel was definitely above average and the sandwich was excellent. The space is also pretty cool and they were very friendly and welcoming.

2021-12-22EAT HERE! This place is amazing! Photo is of the thyme bagel with beet CC and avocado….so simple and SO yummy!!! Have had many other combos…..all divine. The owner did the research on great bagels and knocked it out if the park with their fresh homemade bagels. (Trust me, I’m a New Yorker, this is the best place) You can order online and pick-up which is super easy and quick with their pull thru lot. Not much parking in the lot but plenty on High street at the meters nearby.

2021-11-14Lox bagels was phenomenal tasting breakfast bagels. The group tried a few different options, with the southwest bagel featured below. The pork paired well with the other toppings and the bagel itself was soft and clearly freshly baked. The coffee was also delicious. The only reason I did not make this review 5stars is because it took us 25 minutes to get our bagels after ordering at the counter, and seating is also difficult due to the size of the restaurant.

2022-05-04Im not usually one to take photos of my food, or to post reviews much. But this May the 4th special tastes as good as it looks. In fact, its one of the tastiest things Ive eaten in a while - every component just works together perfectly. Out of this world!Oh, and yes, the bagels are terrific the other 364 days of the year too. I usually go for the Egg & Cheese Sandwich on a Sea Salt & Herb bagel, sometimes with bacon or sausage if Im in the mood. But if youre reading this on May the 4th, go get the special while you can!

2022-04-02The bagels here are delicious - well made, fresh, ample in size. I love that The Lox has partnered with Woodhouse Vegan to offer exceptionally good vegan cream cheese. The strawberry and pink peppercorn “fancy jam” is also quite good - heavy on the fruit, light on the pepper.
