Our stay at The Lost Pearl was one of the best B&B experiences we have ever had. As soon as we pulled up the owners son met us, welcomed us, and offered to help carry our bags for us. Entering the historic old house we were delighted to find slippers ready for our our feet so that we could ditch our winter boots and warm our toes. The owner greeted us with a plate full of cookies, and gave us a quick tour.We stayed in the Pirate Room, and after a few minutes the magic of the decorating had us believing that we were on a ship (if only the room could sway back and forth a bit). The bathroom was well appointed, the bed comfortable, and everything was very clean.Often the breakfast at a B&B can be lacking, but not at The Lost Pearl. Apple pancakes, egg skillet, juice, coffee, and a gorgeous presentation made for a hearty breakfast. As is often the case with the B&B experience, we had a wonderful time chatting with both the owners, their son, and the other guests. Make sure that you ask for the tour of the property, and you must see the goat circus.Cant say enough good things about The Lost Pearl!
Wonderful night away at the Lost Pearl! We so enjoyed the Pirate Room-truly felt like we were in an elegant Pirate Captains Suite! Breakfast was amazing and our hosts were super! We especially enjoyed the special server who brought us our meal and set the table so elegantly! The entire Lost Pearl Bed and Breakfast is gorgeous and we look forward to another get away in another suite! Thanks for a lovely time!
What can I say, you cant earn five stars without being superb. The personal touches we amazing, Daniel asked if we could let him know of the time of our arrival.Simple enough but what was little known is how he would be waiting for us to give a warm and very welcoming invite into their beautiful bed and breakfast. Inside our room was a personalized letter , with a pair of take home coffee mugs , keys to the kingdom and lots of information about the beautiful wine country we were staying in.We stayed in the parlor room. Super clean, cozy , comfortable and decorated with some beautiful antique furniture. (Apart from the large Jacuzzi tub.) Absolutely wonderful.Daniel pointed us towards two winery/restaurants for an evening of delicious food and tasty wine ! After dinner we decided to bring home a bottle and I text Daniel at 8 pm asking for wine glasses , within two minutes he replied stating there was two just outside our room along with a bottle opener ! What amazing service!Breakfast was so delicious! Woke up at 8 , breakfast at 930 , wonderful conversation with the other guests , telling stories and enjoying a Dutch crepe !fantastic!I highly recommend the Lost Pearl to anyone looking to get away ! Quiet, quaint , cozy , romantic and the most importantly private and exclusive!
Any review you will read will pale in comparison to the joy, comfort and beauty to be found at The Lost Pearl. We stayed in the apartment above the garage. It was lovely, to say the least. All of the amenities are strategically placed by genuinely loving hosts who take great pride in sharing their treasure. The food, location, price, ambiance - GOATS! YOU SIMPLY MUST GO! and give them our warmest regards. While you are there, visit Madison Seminary, for a peek into the rich American History of this most enchanted place!
My wife and I stayed at the Lost Pearl (April 2016) in The Patrician Room. The room/bathroom are beautifully decorated, clean and welcoming. The Owners went above and beyond with their attention to details. We were treated with kindness and respect throughout our visit. The beauty about this particular B@B is that it is secluded, but close to all the amenities Lake and Ashtabula has to offer; wineries, distilleries, breweries and great restaurants etc. Our first morning we opted for a private breakfast and the meal was delicious; again attention to detail makes this B@B worth a visit. Our second morning we enjoyed breakfast with the owners and got to know them. Their passion for giving others a place of respite and comfort is obvious. Book a stay at the Lost Pearl now! They are finishing up work on a Carriage House, which they let us tour and it looks like its going to be amazing. Put the Lost Pearl on your list of places to visit!!
We arrived late and had to leave promptly the next day, so we did not have as much chance as we would have liked to enjoy the lovely gardens and landscaping. But the room was very comfortable, the breakfast was excellent, and the hosts were extremely friendly and gracious. Definitely recommended!
We were blown away by the experience! From the moment we walked into the stunning parlor we felt as if we had traveled back to the 16th century. The attention to detail was remarkable. From the ornate door knobs to the period décor, the house was a spectacular replicate of what a bed and breakfast might have looked like during this time. What really impressed us the most was walking into our room (the Patrician Room) to the soft sounds of classical music playing from the Amazon Echo. It really gave the room a lovely, inviting charm. Our room had a private outside patio with fire pit and a welcome basket that include the stuff to make smores. Daniel and his lovely family were very nice, and we enjoyed talking with them and learning about the history of house and local area during breakfast. They do not live where the rooms are but do stay on the property and Daniel is easy to find if you need anything. They have goats on the property and we loved goating around with them. They also have two cats Shadow and Merlin. Shadow was a most wonderful host who greeted us when we first arrived. Merlin hung out with the goats like he was one of the them. It was a blast that we hope to experience again and again.
Clean, beautiful decor, perfect location (close to wine trails) & amazing breakfast. Owners were nice, personable and extremely accommodating. We would recommend this B&B to anyone looking for a relaxing time. The extra touches with the care of breakfast food, bath bomb for the Jacuzzi and terry cloth robes were appreciated.
Excellent place to stay!! The host was very accommodating and friendly. The room was very clean and had all the amenities you might need. We had a great day at the winerys and at night sat by the fire and relaxed. Ask for the apple pancakes for breakfast, they were awesome!!
My husband were hesitant to stay at a B&B because it has never been our thing. However, this place looked so nice that we gave it a try. We were not disappointed! The rooms and grounds are beautiful, the owners and their son are very warm and hospitable without being over the top, and the breakfast was wonderful. Overall a very pleasant experience!
We were greeted by the owners son when we pulled in the driveway, and he helped us with our luggage. The home was beautifully restored and we stayed in the pirate room which had beautiful exposed beams original to the house. There was a packet of information with the history of the house and the surrounding area. The owner made us an afternoon snack, and hot drink. We were able to use the kindle for music and Netflix and the owner provided us with our key to the house on a handcrank flashlight so we could get in after a late night at the wineries.Much like another reviewer, we were quite happy, when we had a gourmet breakfast of bananas foster french toast, fresh fruit and a rosemary/potato/egg skillet with chorizo sausage!Thank you to Daniel and his family for making this a wonderful weekend away.
We had the privilege of staying at The Lost Pearl B&B recently and it exceeded any expectations we may have had. We live in the Medina, Ohio area and like to visit the Madison area for all it has to offer including the Rabbit Run Theater. We were impressed from the time we drove up to the property until the moment we left. We were greeted with open arms and a soft smile, and a wonderful glass of homemade lemonade by Daniel the owner. He immediately made us feel at home by showing us around and giving us a bit of history of the property. Rather than ruin the historical aspects of The Lost Pearl, I will let visitors learn on their own. My wife and I stayed in the Pirate room and let me say that the room almost came alive with a history all of its own. You will really love this one.So if your needing to get away to the quiet countryside and need a place to stay, think about The Lost Pearl, where you can really get away for a relaxing and satisfying experience...Thank you Daniel and your very special family for welcoming us homePS: Almost forgot to mention that wonderful homemade breakfast.....Just go for the breakfast as it is that good.....

2022-08-20A wonderful, relaxing experience with a beautiful property to explore and close to our friends place in Geneve as well as many wineries. The breakfast was delicious and the innkeeper/owner was a delight. Although we didnt meet his wife and son, their influence was evident.

2022-01-13Ive stayed here twice. The first time was wonderful and the second time was during the Covid pandemic, but still managed to be good! Even though the personal touch had to be adjusted a bit because of pandemic, it was truly wonderful both times. Ive been to several B&Bs in Ohio wine country, but this one stands out. Daniels cooking is superb.

2021-08-08This place is a true gem, and everything youd ever want in a bed and breakfast! Beautiful rooms, great piano in the common space, lovely rural atmosphere and dozens of cozy places to relax outside. We loved the menagerie of animals, too - goats, ducks, cats, etc. And the owners were so friendly and helpful! Be sure to get the breakfast during your stay. Top notch and made fresh each day. We loved this place and will be back for sure!

He will start a fire for you whenever youd like, he can give you dinner suggestions or day adventures ideas. He and his wife are always pleasant and accommodating! And the breakfast is excellent in taste and presentation. We truly cannot say enough good things about our stay, the room is clean, the house is quiet and we are comfortable! 2018-07-30My wife and I stayed here for our first anniversary when we were looking for a B&B near the wineries, and The Lost Pearl popped up in my search. Daniel and Sandra were very pleasant, welcoming hosts. The house and grounds were beautiful, and the breakfasts were excellent. Im sure well be visiting again! We stayed in the Pirate Room, and the decor was nicely done, like we were in a stateroom on a 19th century ship. Very close to several wineries, and its a short drive to Geneva-On-The-Lake.

2016-06-05It was my first time staying at a bed & breakfast and my boyfriends second time. His first experience was awful so we were a little hesitant to try it out. I think we really lucked out and chose the best place! We stayed in the Patricia room. It was very clean and well decorated. It felt cozy and very private. The back patio was great. We had a view of the goats, but I never really heard them unless we were sitting outside and they were out. Theyre adorable! We also took a nice walk through the wooded area and the garden. Such beautiful grounds. To top it off the breakfast was delicious!!! Wow, they did a beautiful job with presentation and taste. They are so accommodating. All and all, I would not hesitate to go back, I would never stay anywhere else. This was a wonderful experience.

2016-09-27We had a wonderful stay at The Lost Pearl. My husband and I stayed in the Carriage House and my daughters stayed in the Pirate Room. We had a rushed trip for a family wedding but staying at the Lost Pearl was so relaxing. The rooms are decorated beautifully, with so much detail. The bed in the Carriage House was so comfortable it was the first time I slept straight through to morning in a very long time. Daniel and Sandra are amazing people. Conversation was plentiful, as they are so interesting. I enjoyed hearing about the history of this beautiful home. Their son is a joy as well. I really enjoyed watching him with the goats and seeing him lead them into tricks.I dont want to forget to mention the breakfast. It was amazing!! My special request was achieved and the hospitality surpassed every expectation. Thank you Daniel and Sandra. We will be back.

2020-10-20I stayed at The Lost Pearl with my bride as newlyweds on our honeymoon road trip. Our hosts were gracious and helpful with recommendations! I felt totally COVID safe. There were so many fun details, including K-Cup pods in flavors I’d never seen before. My highest recommendation!
