So, I rarely ever leave reviews for anything. However, this Home Depot has an employee named Cliff that gave such excellent service that I couldn’t not leave him a review.Every single person we came in contact with as we walked through the store looking for a product, Cliff interacted with. He was so polite to customers. So caring. So determined to go above and beyond for us.He spend upwards of 30-45 minutes searching for something other employees gave up on in 5 (and didn’t let us know they had quit looking). Cliff looked everywhere, across the whole store, front to back, sideways, we got our steps in with Cliff. And the whole time, he gave great conversation.As a GM of my own company, I would take 100 Cliff’s, any day. That guy deserves to be promoted to store leadership, or given some type of recognition for his level of compassion, service, and overall excellence. Because he deserves every last little bit of it.Looking forward to our next Home Depot visit; and hopefully we cross paths with this amazing person again!
I usually choose Home Depot over other home improvement places, but that will likely change. I needed to make a major purchase today for an item that I NEED for my house to fix my lack of water problem. (Kinda important). Women go into home improvement stores for more than paint and cleaning supplies and I am not sure the employees know that, or care. I am tired of being ignored by the employees when I need assistance and its really annoying to be spoken to like I took a wrong turn somewhere and I dont realize Im at Home Depot. I know I am not the only one this happens to. Get it together Home Depot, its almost 2022, women do home improvements too.
Store manager Bethany is terrible! She wouldnt price matchlowes on the exact same item.I bought zebra grass at lowes and landscape edging that Home Depot stopped carrying. headed to depot to get a bunch of other stuff, and my truck bed was full.Right where we were loading the truck, depot had the same zebra grassand both garden center people told me they would price match. They were even joking why did I buy it lat lower, I just didnt have room in my truck at the time.3 days later this manager Bethany , wouldnt match, said the item Was different, I show her it wasnt on my receipt. This was a 100$ swing in price for 5 plants. she even called another regular employee over and they were almost yelling at me, they dont match the entire garden center at all! Asking me who did I talk too, who told you that? She just refused no sorry or nothing, said she was the highest manager at the store.So if you think about that, they dont match 20% of the store right there,figure all the Home Depot brand paint, Behr, husky tools, etc.... so what do they match????I was looking at a huge sign lowest price guaranteed, but thats not true at Newark home depot.2 days later I go to Cleveland ave store and they happily matched the price, told me Newark store was wrong. Big waste of my time, thanks to Bethany not knowing store policy. Had to load these plants in my work van, just a pain, but Cleveland ave, treated me right.pictures of all receipts attached
I shop at this store a lot, most time ok service. I have ordered items on line 3 times that my order was messed up. They let me know item is there, I show up not there because somebody has picked up my item or my name is on the wrong item. The latest was 09-01-2021 ordered 2 outdoor panels, my name was on a box with someone else’s name and my items were not there yet. How can this happen 3 times? I tried to understand but it just keeps happening. I’m sure it’s not just my order. So I was told order be here couple days so we will see. Ridiculous customer service Orr lack of concern.
We have purchased many appliances and construction materials over many years totaling many thousands of dollars.We visited the local store to pay a promotional balance and the clerk said we could not do it in store and gave us a phone number. ( We had done this in store in the past.)The number was incorrect. It took a half hour on the phone after locating a valid number TO PAY MONEY TO HOME DEPOT We talked to 3 different people before finding one who could apply the correct amount to a promotional balance. Sorry to say we need to find a merchant with much better customer service. VERY DISAPPOINTED
Need more human registers open. The self serve takes far too long if you have a gift card.Just needed a few pieces to make a mockup to show customer what the final job will look like tried that other place and waited 25 minutes after I was told someone will help. Was in Home Depot a whole 7 minutes, had someone help me and I was heading to the checkout.
I bought a brand new hotpoint dryer. It does not heat. The customer service really went to bat for me, but I sat here two days from work for service the first day was canceled due to “truck” issues and the next day they just didn’t show up. Home Depot please go with a different delivery and service business the FSA in grove city don’t care about your business or your customers.
They claim they price match but they really do not. Way overpriced. Can get 60 bags of 60 pound quickcrete from lowes for 190.00 but costs 224 at home depot for the same thing. They claim they might price match but because it comes from a different provider they do not match quickcrete because thiers is more expensive even though it is identical bags and identical manufacturer as lowes.
Great for little projects! Nightmare for large ones. So its a mixture. You cant get your large order for big projects. Employees are either too lazy, unorganized or just understaffed/underpaid. I had to go through the store and pick up all my items myself because it was just never done. We bought $7-8k in materials total. Very unprofessional. One staff member made it his duty to help us. We really appreciated that.
All of the employees were wearing their masks. There was sanitizing wipes and hand sanitizer available for customer use. The store was clean, including the restroom. The hand dryer was broken, but there were paper towels available. The employees were really helpful, kind and in high spirits. We got our home improvement supplies and a few other random items (including an as seen on tv personal air cooler, and all for really great prices!
Liked the store, but wasnt impressed with the Lack of Washing machines they had. (Needed one immediately, there was absolutely none). I think Home Depot should sell the floor models of the ones that customers like, and when they get more in/delivered, replace them on the sales floor. Thats much better customer service then making customers wait.
I called ahead to make sure they had the product available. The friendly staff member told me the exact aisle number where it was located to help speed things up when I arrived. The store was clean & stocked. It was quiet at night and staff members were easy to locate if needed. The register was open without a long line & checkout went smoothly.
We were able to locate everything that we wanted. We did have a friendly associate help with an item that was hard to locate. The topping was we were able to use our military discount. This store is located w/n 5 miles from our home. We have always encountered friendly associates at this store. I would encourage anyone to try this store for your home improvement projects.
We had home depot install countertops in our laundry room. It was a terrible experience from the beginning to the end. The installer just left and I am unhappy and feel that I have no recourse to file a claim for what I believe to be an improperly cut piece of quartz. I strongly recommend you not use Home Depot to install any countertops.
Newark Ohio HD has rules posted on entry that masks are required. But... spotted at least 7 customers with no masks and several with masks below their nose. No enforcement and employees did not even seem to notice. Store was well stocked, and check out seemed safe and fairly quick.
Love the signs out front that state no mask no entry but disappointed that several people could not point me in the direction of double sided tape & 3 of the employees that I encountered were wearing masks under their nose...Edit: I went back the following day to purchase potting soil & not a soul in site was wearing a mask incorrectly. Must have just been a few bad apples.
I have nothing to complain about. It is a very clean store with what it seems to be nice staff. Anytime I asked someone a question, it didnt matter where in the store I was at the staff was very attentive. Restrooms were really clean and looked super nice. Its a home depot so of course it has what you need. I had gone in to get wall hooks to hang up but my girlfriend ended up walking out with a couple items on top of the wall hooks. Great store definitely reccomend!
Actually I would not give even give one star to Home Depot, Newark, Ohio! Very poor customer service as I had ordered flooring on 13 March and ended up being asked to come in and re-orderthe not just a second time but a third time on 18 April! I ended up canceling my $6200 flooring order because of the lack of anyone, including two of the managers, having any idea of when and where my flooring was located in getting my order to the store!I had made numerous phone calls and asked where and when my flooring was going to come in with many times not being called back so I would go into the store. It was hard to find anyone to help me that knew anything! The sad part is I had it pulled up all my carpet I had a time in order to have the flooring ready to install as soon as it came in. This was in three bedrooms so I took down all three of my bed and slept on the couch unaware that the flooring was never going to come in! This was such an inconvenience to me which didn’t seem to matter to the managers!There should be somebody tracking items for order coming in and calling when they are late, apparently, there is no one in the store doing this job or if they are they should be fired at this point! I am very very dissatisfied with this store and feel I should get an apology from whoever owns the store! A phone call would be sufficient to me.Being retired military and working in personnel for 28 years I can see a lack of customer service skills as well as management skills in the store and would hope that someone would look into it. I ended up going to a competitor of Home Depot who treated me with respect and gave me a timeline of when everything would be in.P.S. I even had the installers contact me to ask me what was going on as no one from Home Depot, New York Ohio store had contacted them!
Decent prices if your a pro. Most of customer service is friendly. There is one lady in paint department thats rude every single time. I end up in arguments with her along with other costumers. The guys in that department are wonderful and very helpful! Im not sure why they keep her working around costumers!
I generally love this store..wasnt to happy with the so called professional who work in the cabinet department. First time buying cabinets and Id would of liked more ideas and options ofwhat to choose.I inquired about a less expensive style after picking out another and I was told by the lady who was working with me that knew nothing about that manufacturers. I like my cabinets but they also just pick or put what they decide. I got 4 small drawers and would of rather had 3 larger ones..among other things..I spent Thousands of dollars and wasnt completely satisfied.
The absolute worst customer service of any home improvement store. If you need a nut, bolt, or washer.... theyre all about trying to help you find that but, if youre there trying to purchase a larger item... go to Lowes instead. Went in to attempt to purchase a dishwasher this evening and had about a dozen teenage employees walk right by me without ever asking if we needed help. When I finally flagged down an employee (older gentleman) he told me that he wasnt sure if the appliance guy was still there or if hed left for the evening. Seriously, shop elsewhere.
We shop this location all the time. Went there tonight to get landscape timbers. We got there at 5:40 and were told the doors were locked and they arent letting anyone else in. They werent scheduled to close till 6pm. There was even a family that had an online order placed and was there to pick it up and they wouldnt even serve them. Not only that but the lady that came out to tell us was incredibly rude. When the family said they had a pick up order she waved her hand in the air turned around and walked away without saying another word. Im so disappointed in their communication and customer service.
AVOID!!Online ordering is a total train wreck. Placed an order for gas grill, to be assembled and delivered. Got a call from driver asking if I had ordered the grill to be assembled...yes, I said...he said its still in a box...in Canal Winchester...funny, I ordered from Newark...after about 47 minutes of phone calls and forever-hold, when I finally got to a human, I just cancelled the order.NEVER SHOPPING HERE AGAIN!!!
We were very dissatisfied with the service. We came wanting an over the range microwave because ours had broken. When we got there we saw only a very small selection of ones they had in stock. So we browsed through those and chose one. During the process we had a couple of questions and both times we had to walk up and down the aisles looking for someone to answer our questions and then they had to find someone to answer the questions, because they wouldnt know. Then we finally chose one that the sticker said had two in stock and when we found someone and told them we wanted to buy it, they looked it up and told us there was none in stock. Such a frustrating experience. We ended up leaving and purchasing our microwave elsewhere, where we received much better service.
We stopped in yesterday, picked out a nice balsam for tree for under $30. This store has everything in it and the items I needed aside from the tree were in stock. I especially needed a particular bulb to fix a miniature tree that stopped working and was so happy that they had exactly what I needed!
They used a third party to fulfill my online order. They showed the order as shipped and only printed the ship ticket BUT they charged my card and never shipped it. I called. After being on hold for an hour, the third party said the were short resources to ship it. Fine, be late but dont charge me BEFORE you ship it. Total BS.
Awesome service, found everything we were looking for and reasonably priced compared to Lowes, and at checkout was offered to save $50 if signed up for home Depot card so not only saved $50 but was approved $1000 credit so no out of pocket spent for purchase today as was originally planned allowing us to save our money and pay purchase amount off. Right before Christmas this was a huge help and a gift in itself. Thank you home Depot and I would definitely refer others if doing home repairs or needing tools, appliances, etc to shop Home Depot
We purchased a new kitchen stove from the Newark Home Depot. The deliver was made by an outside company hd hired. The driver could not back up his truck nor stop when he broke our pine tree and horse fence.That was in May of 2020, it is now almost August. Nothing has been done except me making phone calls and sending pictures, causing an upset every contact! The trucking company is a joke! I will not buy from home depot again! Big Sandy has lovely appliances and service!
(Standing in line at the pro desk for about 30mins, two frustrated customers ahead of me because there is one trained employee running the whole 3-4 pro stations. I look down a bit farther and watch 4 employees chatting almost the whole time.. these people need to get motivated or they need a new supervisor.) What a joke this place is becoming. AVOID THE PRO DESK!!!
One star for the store. Employees scatter like roaches when anyone needs any type of a assistance. Ordering online is a mess. Products show stock available and when you get there, out of stock. What a waste of my time. Simply order online and let these stores crumble away.
It was horrible this store is a great big box store it usually has the best prices in the Newark area. And is very competitive with Menards. They have better wood that Menards and similar prices. They carry a large selection AB tools, saw blades oh, and other accessories for power tools. Usually theyre sale prices for power tools are better than other stores . The only problem is they are now carrying via email household items IE bedding furniture and other stuff I have never bought any from them and do not like the emails cluttering my inbox
First let me start off by saying the associate in the appliance section was phenomenal when making my selections.I purchased $3,600 in appliances and was confidently scheduled for delivery on Saturday, January 5, 2019(one week from purchase). I received a call stating my order was never sent over, and that there would now be an extra week of waiting. Home depot offered a $100 refund (2%) for my troubles.I just bought a house and have no appliances, but was fine with waiting one week for delivery. Upon requesting a negotiation for even taking floor models from the store, I was turned down. I understand that they would have no models, but I now am out $3,600, and have no appliances.I will be in first thing in the morning to collect a refund, and I will not be making any further purchases.
Helpful staff directed me quickly to the exact product I was looking for. Well organized and enjoyed looking for other things since I found what I was looking for so quickly. Checkout was speedy and parking was easy. This on one of the final shopping days before Christmas.
I purchased three doors for installation from the Newark OH location. We experienced problems with just about every aspect of this transaction. The wrong size front door was ordered and it arrived damaged. The installers were unreliable and did arrive when scheduled. They were at my house numerous times to at least install the new back door and screen door, but never actually started any work, always claiming they needed additional supplies or something. They would leave and never return. My front door frame was pulled away from the wall and never fixed. In the end I had to cancel the entire transaction because more than 3 months after our original purchase I still had no doors.
This lady just straight walked away while trying to return a truck rental on time and skipped us to take care of other customers making us even later to work. We got in line then just blown off for her to deal with other people not a single word until we started to leave and she got super rude nothing was said just walked away didnt even look at us just kept going to the next customer and said one time I have to go look at it. Her name is Linda this is a joke and will never come here again will also be issuing this review to penske as well. This is a joke a terrible customer service.
Disappointed- they were out of the size wood blind I needed and several other things on my list. They offered to order it online but I can do that on my own and get it faster and free shipping but it defeats the purpose of going to a store when I have projects to do this weekend.
Didnt have what I needed!!! Employee had a huge hose out watering at noon the store was very busy he was in the way should water plants before opening!!! The floor in the gardening area was filthy and most of the isles were cluterd and blocked!!! Price tags missing!!! Prices are very high!!! Alot of damaged product everywhere!!!
This was one of the better visits Ive had. A young man named Antwonne, back in lumber, was the perfect example of what am employee/representative of a company should be like. He went above and beyond to help me find and get what I was looking for. He then cut the 3 pieces of 1x6x12 ft deck board I needed into 1x6x4 ft pieces for me and loaded them into my cart. I asked him where I could find something else I was looking for and he knew exactly what isle it was in and about how far down the isle it would be located. I wish I could receive service everywhere that I received from him last night. Great job Antwonne and thank you for making my shopping experience as pleasant as it was and me leaving the Newark store with a smile on my face!!! I personally think you deserve a raiseIll be sure to look for u when Im there again.
Went shopping for lumber and those aisles were all a mess. Lumber carts which didnt belong to any shopper were all loaded with various pieces of wood, so they couldnt be used, and empty ones were hard to find. Selection wasnt great, either. Many of the pieces had mangled edges or were loaded with knots.
The Home Depot in newark Ohio has highly qualified employees. They are always cheerful and have a smile on their face. they are very personable. Im there almost every day and I am greeted by everyone. I could shop any where I want and will always choose the Home Depot in Newark Ohio for all my construction needs. Thank you fro being very friendly and nice to all your shoppers.
I went in looking to gather information on a new fridge and dishwasher. Wasnt looking to ask questions, just gather what I needed and leave. Lenny asked if I had any questions, and from that point on, he handled everything. He was so knowledgeable and answered questions I didnt know to ask. He was amazing. Buying large appliances can be overwhelming, but not with Lennys help.
If you have any projects that you need advice on, these are the guys you want to talk to. I try to do all my repairs myself. Theyve helped solve countless problems for me from tiling, plumbing, wiring, they can help. Most of the workers are retired and know their stuff. And when someones not sure, theyll find the right co-worker to get the answer. Love this store.
When walking through the store, I had multiple employees greet me and ask if I needed assistance. The service was great and an enormous change from years ago. I stopped going here due to the terrible customer service. I will have to back few times to see if it was a fluke or if the atmosphere really did change.
Went for a lawn tractor belt. They told me they sold the 54 mower and sent me home twice with wrong belt. As I said they wouldnt look up on their phone or to see if my model # was correct. I was rudely told who would know them or me. So I finally drove 30 mins to grab my cell to come back and they said did you need help putting it on? I said no Im looking it up and as I said Ace told me 102 but didnt have. You rolled your eyes and they were right and asked have they worked in the area as 3 hours of my day wasted. Plus didnt have 102 either.
I was having a problem with a Battery from a tool set my wife got me for Christmas. I. took it back to the store, But since it was a promo for Christmas the clerk said I had to contact the Manufacturer. WELL!!! Then begins the run around! So, after a few days of B.S. I finally called back to the store. A fellow named Phil, an assistant Manager, not only replaced the battery after hearing my grief, He personally drove it to my house 19.7 miles (by Googlle Map) on his own time after his shift ended at 7:00 P.M. That evening.Honor, and Integrity!Qualities not often seen these days. I will drive the extra mile to patronize this store. Its the people who make a business what it is.Thanks again.
Backstory my mother called as she was having issues getting her shower to stop. Found that I need a new posi temp part. This was at 7:20 and I had to be at work by 8. Called home depot and asked to have the part pulled they took down the sku part and the model of the part and said I told them will be there around 5:30pm to pick it up . Showed up at 5:20 part was not pulled went back to the plumbing row and they could not locate the part ended up having to go to lowes to get the part.
Lousy customer service. They seem to be short staffed or staff is hiding/avoiding being proactive in assisting customers. Very un-engaged. Had to go elsewhere to get the timely help needed in finding the product I was looking for. They lost a couple grand as a result.
Went to pick up an order, two people not in uniform drug it to the register and went outside. After waiting ten minutes and asking other workers where they went, I decided to load it on a cart and left the store. Very unprofessional. Here lately store has been out of stock on numerous varieties of lumber also.
I called HD Newark Ohio was on hold for over 15minutes. I was able the next morning to speak to a real person. I went in to make my purchase after trying to find help. I purchased 20 bags on green cellulose insulation and received a Blower ($250) required.The machine did not work after 3 hours I managed to get 1 bag installed.I was not a very happy person and returned the Junk Blower.C.HuffNewark,Ohio.11/15/18BRING ON MENARDS.
Never order online they will not have your order ready in time they say two hours it should be ready but 5 hours goes by and they close and my order is still not ready it was only one item ordered it so I can pick it up after I got off work. But I will never order online again.
I have shopped at this store a lot.I spend about $300-$500 a month there because they give a discount to Veterans I have never had a problem until today.I was buying 5 gals of DeckOver that I had mixed and more fencing.It was around $188.00 and I showed them my VA card like always and the cashier grabbed my wallet and pulled out the card and took off with it.He came back and said they cant give me the discount because my card doesnt say service related.This is the same card I show them all the time and never had a problem.I asked for the Manager and she came over and was rude about it and told me this is the policy and has been since April 2015.I told her that I was there last week and there wasnt a problem and I have been there many times since April and no problems.She refused to honor my discount,so I left everything and walked out.They just lost a lot of money because who is going to want the color I had mixed on the DeckOver and I will never spend another penny in HD.I went to L O W E S and they didnt give me any problems.I looked at HD site and they say they Honor all active duty and Veterans with a discount.I guess this store dont care about customers or Veterans.
I go here all the time for my tools and had my favorite one break while changing a ball joint and after they told me they couldnt do anytHing about replacing my took that was guaranteed for life and I asked to speak to a manager at the customer serVice counter the woman was extremely rude and told me there was notHing she could do and have a nice day Ill drive the little but farther and go Lowes or Sears and if I have to Walmart but I deFinitely wont be back here

2022-04-19Anytime that I go in this store there is always plenty of people around working to assist you. The workers work in a small area and no what theyre talking about in the area theyre working. Not like going to some stores and asking about for example a bottle of laundry soap and someone in a department has no clue what youre talking about and where its at. A person there could tell you because they only work in two to three aisles tops and then theres another worker that works in the next two to three aisles tops. Will always continue going to this store never have any issues in there.

2022-05-22I paid over $1,800.00 for a Maytag Bravos Commercial Washer/Dryer combo. 5 yr warranty. 🙄Warranty company gives me the extreme runaround for 8 days and after 25+ calls a 3 way call with HD manager to Asurion Warranty middleman for repair shop, leaves me stranded without a washer for a month. Disappointed 😞 Lied to me about an early repair until the repair shop calls and says they schedule our appointment but not accurately. See you in three more weeks.Never again!

2022-05-22Dude who was monitoring self checkout came over and snatched the scanning gun from my hand, scanned my items quickly and told me the total. Refused to scan my military discount QR code in the app and tried to tell me that the products in question didn’t have a discount anyways. When I went to the normal checkout they scanned it the items were discounted. Someone needs more training.

2022-07-31Had everything that we were looking for. No problems. Also returned an item that was to small for what we needed.We were given in store credit for the item as long as you have the receipt. No problems

2022-03-09The turnover here seems high, therefore people dont always know the products they carry or where the product in question might be. That being said, I have never had an unpleasant clerk or employee there. Its my happy place!

2022-05-04Love coming here. Been shopping with home Depot since I was a small kid. People are helpful. Service desk sucks. Always have what Im looking for
