The Home Depot in other cities:
The lumber is thrown around, unorganized throughout three major isles of the store. Ive never seen Home Depot so messy and cluttered, including this one where I have shopped for years. Although it is a very busy location in the central part of the city, it surely appeared as neglected shambles. The only reason I gave 3 stars is because the lady at the pro-desk was very helpful and cool.
I visited this store about a month ago and the lumber section was a disaster. Lots of stuff scattered in the aisles and it was difficult to navigate. I figured they were having a rough day and didnt have time to clean up and let it slide.Ive been back a few times since then and it looked about the same. Today was the worst though. Three aisles had so much junk in the way that I couldnt fit my cart through until I moved stuff. There were lots of carts blocking the shelves so I couldnt find what I was looking for.The rest of the store is normal. A bit messy, but its a hardware store, right? But you enter the lumber section and it looks like a total war zone.Their largest competitor is less than half a mile away. Their selection isnt a good but I can actually fit my cart through every aisle and Ill be shopping there in the future.
My family has decided to not shop at Home Depot anymore for major purchases. I recommend other shoppers avoid major purchases that require delivery too, as Home Depot cannot provide good delivery service. We have personally gone through the following related to an appliance order: Wrong color for 1 of them (had to call to fix), incorrect delivery address reported by delivery company (correct address on our paperwork, no idea how this happened, delivery company has to reschedule now), 2 rescheduled deliveries (have had to rearrange work schedules around this), 1 attempted incomplete delivery (only had the washer, where is the dryer?). NOT WORTH IT. The Home Depot cannot offer anything in the face of such inconvenience, just a further postponed delivery. Shop elsewhere for major needs, plenty of other retailer options.
Worst home depot experience.Picked up two items from under the ridgid endcap that says pick two tools for $179 and go to the register. The items come up at full price. I ask the cashier why and Im abruptly told that she doesnt know. I point to the end cap that is just across the aisle and she states she cant look at it and walks away. I had to request her to find someone to could answer the question. Individual that came informed me that home depot vendors place items that dont apply to the promotion intermixed with items that do. My question was an inconvenience to everyone I asked for help. It was a complete waste of time to ask for help.Is Home Depots business model really to intermix endcap promotions to cause confusion that will result in customers paying higher prices?Cashier: ErinTime: 0900
Staff is rude and unhelpful. After searching online for firewood, the website listed this location as having 53 units in stock. After wondering around trying to find it, the employee I asked said “can’t you see I’m busy right now? The area is right in front of you.” After more searching, the store didn’t even have it stock. Went to Lowes instead and will only be going to Lowes from now on. Train your staff not to be insufferable.
I had a plumbing issue that i want sure how to solve. An employee in the plumbing department was able to give me expert advice and helped me find exactly what I needed... Twice. Most recently I went for potting soil and pots for spring planting. I didnt need help this time.
This is a one star rating due to my customer service experience with a Home Depot employee. During checkout in the self checkout lane, the employee monitoring the station, Lizzie, was incredibly rude to a patron that was checking out and needed to run to get one more item before finishing his purchase. The patron took LESS THAN 2 MINUTES to retrieve his item and when the patron returned, she audibly showed displeasure with the patron while 8 other patrons where in line and could hear her. She said Well you could have just gotten in the first place and proceeded to moan and groan like a toddler while other patrons could hear her. When you are in a customer facing role, such as Lizzie, it is imperative to keep your emotions in check. Because you have no idea who you could be talking to and the situation could get escalated.
Absolutely terrible customer service — I will never go back. No one seems to be able to answer questions, and then they abandon you. Last time I was in (October 9) I actually had to call the customer service desk to get them to send someone to help me. They didn’t act surprised, which I thought was telling.I will never shop here, or at any other Home Depot, ever again. There are plenty of other better-staffed options.
The site doesnt tell you where things are, and other things arent where they say they are. And no employees are around to ask for help. I was looking for a cleaner that said online said there were 575 in stock at my location. Couldnt find it (buy found every other cleaner). Another item said it was in stock on back wall, bay 2, but they didnt have any. Maybe it was somewhere else, but I can hunt the store and no one was around to even ask for help.
The original big box home improvement store. This one on Highland avenue is pretty much like any other. The staff were helpful when we could track them down. The selection was focused on things that would sell in high volume. The ubiquitous orange buckets are at the end cap of most isles.
I spent $25000 on a renovation with the home d. First off I selected cabinets for my kitchen Based off of the lead times that I was told. That however was pushed back a month, and I can understand that. But then when the delivery came there was a damaged cabinet I missing cabinet in the wrong side panel for my refrigerator. This intern took another 2 to 3 weeks to get corrected which then also put back my kitchen countertop measure. Then with the kitchen countertop it took them three weeks to actually get it done after the first scheduled install date because KBR totally mismanaged this deal and had every single pics cut wrong. DO NOT USE THEM FOR A MAJOR RENOVATION
Their employee Scott at the Highland ave store is why i always shop here. Hes very friendly and informative. He always knows where things are that im looking for and suggests things i may need to get my project done. He took time to cut all these wood pieces to exact size so i could device this media center.
A little rougher than a typical HD. This one is always poorly stocked and disorganized. Unfortunately the employees (if you can find one) are very little help, probably no fault of their own. Seems like they are very poorly trained and then thrown to the wolves far too soon.
I just wanted to leave a review specifically for Jeanne in the Kitchen department. Jeanne worked with my husband and I to do an update on our kitchen. We had a general idea of what we wanted but needed an expert to help us solidify our vision. She sat with us for quite some time on two separate occasions looking at options and helping us decide. It is a lot of decisions to make and can be overwhelming but working with her made it feel less so. And it was a fun process! If you are looking to design or update your kitchen I encourage you to work with Jeanne! She is really knowledgeable!
Waited 14 hours for a delivery that never showed up.Called the Home Depot in Florence and got 3 different excuses for the delay. And they told me I have to wait 5 more days to receive my order. Manger Charles Powell didn’t know what day it was, he thought today was Sunday. He probably isn’t aware that there’s a Lowe’s and menards within a mile of his store
Ordered a fridge with gift cards for $855.00. They canceled the order without telling me. The store associate wrote $0 on my gift cards and I have a receipt. They will not refund me or deliver the fridge I ordered. The manager Rob. S has responded with language that clearly contradicts the back of the gift card contract. Stay. Away.
I shop at this location regularly, some really good days and some not so good, today? Not so good. New employee in paint department so I try and be understanding because it quite obvious, it took far longer than it should have, one other person working with him yet slow to assisting the newbie with helping with tenting the paint, etc.
So I get to home depot and I have like 5 sheets of foam board and a couple 2x4s to return I enter by the returns counter and stand there and Im the only customer. There are 2 ladies behind the counter and as I stand there waiting one proceeds to put lotion on her legs as she tells the other about some text message she sent. Well that shut everything down for about 10 minutes as they discussed the text in detail as I stood there waiting to be helped. Eventually another lady comes over and asks me if Ive been helped and I proceed with my business. This is a store many contractors frequent and time is money. Totally unprofessional behavior and attitudes.
Got what I need here. I like that its close to my house, and they have a pretty good selection. But often I need help finding things or getting large things down from high shelves, and getting helped here always takes FOREVER. Also, I dont like supporting them because the owners seems pretty regressive.
Maybe its just my experiences, but whenever I need help the employees are like roaches and scatter. Again, just my experiences maybe. Only in the garden area will you be helped. Everywhere else good luck. Employees make sure to seem helpful by asking you if you need help once youre already done struggling.
The worst hd.... in the 🌎!! Most of its not even home Depots fault. Just the area they are in. My co workers and I will literally be working right next to this place and would rather drive an HR out of our way then to go to this place. Not sure what it is. And its not even the employees. Its the customers. They are so rude and oblivious of their surroundings. Just drive the extra miles and go elsewhere
Just like everywhere else in Ohio masks arent taken as seriously as one would hope. Passed two customers without them one of which was getting help from an employee. Two employees werent wearing masks properly, but in their defense there wasnt any customers around and I used zoom to get the photo. I dont recommend action against the employees. Just keep them cool, hydrated, and have them cover their noseSeveral other customers were not covering their nose as well.It may have been there but I didnt see hand sanitizer after the checkout so bring your own for after touching a card terminal.Long story short the store is trying, but they seem like they dont want to alienate any customers. If you are high risk, dont go. If youre a normal person odds appear to be in your favor but wear your mask properly.I have changed my mind about showing the photo. Too many places have too strong and reactive termination to things. If I am told the employees would keep their jobs and just be told to have the mask cover their nose, then Ill send the photo to who it may concern.
Im at home Depot about every day getting materials for customers I like the variety of stuff that they have better than Lowes and theyre also a few pennies cheaper they have no problem helping customers these days its hard to get employees at places Lowes does not have the employees that they need Im happy with home Depot and with their service
Kylee at HD store #3832 is fantastic. Always cheerful, super helpful and so kind to customers—even if they are rude to her! We’ve been dealing with an annoying situation of trying to pick up stuff for my parents who are overseas and Kylee is always patient (especially cause we don’t know what we are doing!) and nice. She’s the reason we will continue to use the store (I told my dad not to use Lowe’s anymore!) Thanks Kylee!
Terry from the garden department was super knowledgeable and willing to share his knowledge without pressuring us to buy something that wasnt suitable for our needs. We ended up purchasing some things that we didnt expect to get because of the time he took to educate us and build up our confidence. I would go out of my way to return to this location for my gardening needs based on my experience today.
Watch out the rental department. People there are rude and lazy. I was waiting for half a hour and the guys in the back room didn’t even bother to go out and check if there’s any customer waiting. They charged me the hidden fees without letting me know upfront. And plus, don’t be late in returning the tool as they will charge you even if a few minutes pass the deadline.
Had my microwave installed today by home depot installers and was told it could not be vented through the duct work already in place, only vented back into the kitchen. Included in the box were templates for top venting and a metal vent flap for sealing the duct when microwave was not running. I again asked the installer if it wasnt possible to top vent and he insisted it was not. After he left I called Pleasent Ridge home depot and was told yes it could be top vented. They are going to set up another appointment with a different installer and take up more of my time. The installer also bent my duct pipe when he ripped the old microwave out without loosing the duct first. Installer seemed to trying to set a world record for installing a microwave.
I like this location outta the other Cincinnati Home Depot locations.. For Once I Can Go Into A Store Without Being Hounded Nor Asked For Money, The Employees Are Not As Rude, And They Actually Help Their Customers Find The Products They Are Looking For.. I Have Never Had A Bad Experience With This Location.. They Will Continue To Get My Business...
Wonderful! First time ever at this particular location. Was assisted by associate named Troy Not only did he ask Me if he could help me with anything rather than me look everywhere for help, he helped me find what I needed. Extremely pleasant! Top notch customer service. Thank You The Home Depot!
Just wanted to express our appreciation for the kind service we received today from Antoine in your lumber department. He went out of his way to help us find the pressure treated lumber we needed for our deck railing. It was especially challenging given the shortage of boards we needed. Antoine is a great asset to your business. Many thanks!Bill and Kathy ShumanOakley
Bought a lawnmower a couple days earlier,.. electric start so I had to charge for 24hrs. Plus another day of rain so 2 days later I go to cut rhe grass .. The rear left wheel falls off ( self perpelled auto pace ) ... I returned the unit,.. customer service with out. Hesitating went about and beyond trying find and exchanged unit and have it delivered. Although no such luck,.. all units I bought and all units of possible free upgrade were sold out. Tried getting one from another store but homedepots policy is 20miles radius of the store they are allowed to ship and item .. I feel this policy should updated to consider situations like I had ( exceptions ) so customer service called over to tool rental and tool rental repair on spot asap for free.. lol moms wasnt to happy cause the wheel came off she felt i should have gotten a complete new unit. I do too but I needed to cut my grass its was the 1st cut of the yard and it was getting a lil wild .
I have always been fairly satisfied with Home Depot. There are some tools and small parts that I can only get there. It does seem like they are struggling to keep some inventory but I think that is generally true for the industry in general right now. Everyone is generally very friendly and Im usually asked if I need assistance with anything.
I purchased a fridge and it took 4 attempts for the HD appliance delivery people to deliver it. The first three delivery attempts failed for three different reasons. First time the driver simply didnt show up. The second time they delivered a damaged unit. The third time the driver claimed he could not find a parking spot. I finally get my fridge on the fourth attempt, after having to take off four days of work for the whole ordeal. The manager at the Highland Ave store (Chris I think) said he would make things right on the back end with a price discount...the discount was laughable. Instead of buying from Home Depot Id strongly suggest going to Lowes or a company that specializes in appliances (and the proper delivery of the appliance). HD only cares about the customer up until the point of sale...but then outsources their delivery to a bunch of clowns (Hamilton, OH location) who have zero concept of customer service. I will never purchase compliances from Home Depot again and will do my best to avoid their stores all together.
Got what I wanted from the store for a reasonable price. However, when I asked an employee where something was he decided that it was okay to take the item I was looking for out of my hands without asking to make sure I got what I needed AFTER I said this is exactly what Im looking for, thanks. If you were at the grocery store and asked where the milk was it wouldnt be okay if the employee followed you there and grabbed the milk out of your hands to make sure you were making the right choice, this is no different.
Went in for a early black Friday deal and was unable to locate it so I checked with one of there team members sent me to the other end of the stole. There I checked with another staff member sent me to a different location, faith no luck. I finally ask the paint dept member there actually looked on the computer to find out they were sold out. There on line site showed 14 in stock but the paint dept staff was on the money out of stock 45 min waste of time
Although I did not purchase much today, this has been the best customer service Ive ever received at the Home Depot! Thanks very much tothe customer service representative, Heather.I appreciate your help and willingness to help me solve my charger issue. Very professional! A+++++ 5 stars
Hearing from customer service we are just the middle man as direct quote. Try 2: Unable to accept delivery as parts missing due to replacement unit not correctly entered in system. Try 1 was a damaged unit. 20 days and no working dishwasher. Now we have wall damage with a claim (removing old unit but before they realized they did not have parts paid for). Once they have your money for a delivery you cease to exist. Never seen a group hide so fast behind policy. Order canceled, getting refund but that will be up to 10 days to process. Dealing with insurance claim. Going to local store and not having the runaround Home Depot creates. Store manager never called back as promised from Try 1.

2022-06-26Showed up at 10 min till 8 on a Sunday (in which they didnt open until 8) was allowed to go in and grab what I needed and by the time I did that the lights were on and people were at the register. Pleasant trip and even better people helping me. J love this store

2022-06-22Worst customer service ever. Employees literally feel like they can just talk to you however they please, especially the people at the pick up/ return. Would much rather drive to Lowes because their customer service is great and very helpful. This home depot sucks!

2022-05-30It took too long to get assistance. However once I finally got some help, the associate was knowledgeable and pleasant. I wish they offered an automatic price comparison for 30 days. If item goes on sale, youre instantly offer a refund on the difference

2022-06-11Do not order online with this store unless you do not need it for at least 3 days. They only have 2 people who pick on line orders. Only plus side is that I went to the order desk and they gave me a pick list with inventory locations on it so I didnt have to wander around looking for things like I normally do.

2022-06-23The plant selection was nice. Went there for a soldering iron kit. Asked 3 different employees, got 3 different locations, ALL of them wrong. One of them actually looked it up and it was still wrong. Wound up finding them myself, but the selection was limited.

2022-05-31Employees are useless. If you do see an employee, theres usually 3 or 4 of them together doing nothing. When you ask for help, its always the same.... its not my department. The return desk employees look like they hate their jobs. When tou check out, they always want you to do the survey. Why!!!!!! Its not going to change how the store employees are.

2022-04-15I went to order pickup, to obviously pick up my order. I was the only person there with 4 customer service reps, 1 training with a supervisor and the other 2 were standing there “working.”I stood for at least 5 minutes with neither of the 2 that were doing nothing offering to help so I asked if I was in the right spot to pick up my order. The male employee, Keith, got upset and told me they were just trying to finish their (not work related, talking about the girl’s boyfriend) conversation first. What a way to represent Home Depot. A conversation about someone’s boyfriend is more important than doing your job and taking care of the customers.

2022-02-26I thought I rated them already! But either way, 5 stars. The people in their paint department are amazing. They know where everything is at, can easily answer all questions, and mix up paint quickly (when Ive needed it mixed). Their online site tells you exactly which aisle and bin to find your item, and the self scanning/checkout process couldnt be any easier!

2022-06-06Do not buy carpet from this Home Depot. I recently had them do an install and they did not complete the order. I have gotten the run around from them for weeks. The level of incompetence here is astonishing.

2022-07-04A good place to find your fix it stuff!
