Incredible selection, frequent additions, a good blend of the general and esoteric. There are books that appeal to anyone and books that would interest the scholar in a variety of topics. The childrens section is awesome. Youll find something for any age and interest. Most importantly, the staff are helpful and knowledgeable. If you cant find a subject or topic, its definitely worth asking! The annual summer book sale is extremely worthwhile.
The Friends Of The Hamilton County & Cincinnati Pubic Library store is a great place to get discounted used books theyre in good shape and they have any and everything that the library would have had in it. When they have sales its even more wonderful for book lovers. The only thing I dont like is theres nowhere to park except if you can find something on the little side street.
Great deals on books. These are discarded and used books. Hardbound books are usually between $2 and $3. Most are in very good shape or like new. They also carry old CDs, VHS, Blue-Ray, paperback, large print books, audio books, and books on just about any topic you can think of. This is a great place to find childrens books as well as your favorite author at a great price. It is open to the public on Wednesdays and Saturdays. It is staffed by The Friends of the Library (hence the name.)
I Purchased books for my nieces sixth grade classroom. The staff member was very knowledgeable in the popular reading material for that age group. I also purchase paperback books for my 87 year old mother and children’s books for my grandchildren. Great place...great prices...great staff!
I love finding used book treasures here. The books are shelved by genre, so its easy to search for what you want. The volunteers are helpful, and the books are cheap! Most are $2 or $3. Check their website to find what days and hours they are open--they are not just open during their special big sale weekends.
I went there on their last day called Bag Day because you buy a bag for ten dollars and fill it up with whatever books, audiobooks, CDs, DVDS, videotapes, records, etc. The warehouse was small but the staff there was very helpful in making things run smoothly. I bought two bags (one for DVDs and one for books) what a bargain and one stop shopping. I cant wait to go back again next year. 👍
1st timer! Amazing amount of merchandise to peruse.Movies, collectable books, Cincinnati centered books. Many music CDs and record albums (and this is just part of the front room!). Comic and super heroes books. The book classifications are well delineated. Happy to see wide selection of large print books. Library volunteers are plentiful and helpful. My 8 books, 2 CDs, and plastic carrying bag=$8.00!
Friends of the Library benefits Cincinnati Public Libraries. You can donate books taking up space in your place. You can browse the shelves to find new things to read at great prices... and take them back and donate them again when youre done! Its a win win situation. Generally open on Wednesdays and Saturdays, they also have special week long events.

2021-05-30Love this bookstore! Everything is priced AMAZINGLY low, and the quality of their selection is mind-boggling. Bobby helped us out and showed me a bunch of indie graphic novels and comic books, and the manga selection has a lot of really good titles and series, like Seraph of the End, Natsumes Book of Friends, Dragon Ball, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Pokémon, as well as a lot of TokyoPop titles! Not a lot of complete series but if youre looking for 1 or 2 volumes to finish a series give them a look! I was also able to find the Golden Press Field Guide books which are beautifully printed and typeset for a dollar each. They also have really interesting antique books, like letterpress printed editions, and complete encyclopedias.Bibliophiles and bibliofriends should check out The Friends Used Book Store for library-quality used books!

2021-01-29During the pandemic the bookstore is able to be accessed only by appointment. The store has a large selection. Members get %10 off purchases and 20% off in February. Donations are accepted. Call for details. Parking can be scarce. An overall great experience and interesting items and books to select from.

2022-02-16What more could you want? Current titles along with many, many used books from all genres. With that you also have, CDs, DVDs, Blueray and LPs. Books are $1-$10 roughly.

2020-03-09Absolute great place to buy books, most of which are around $3. Ill admit that the store took me by surprise at first (I went on one of their big sale days), the sheer depth of the books they have to offer is incredible. I cant recommend this place enough, will be coming back soon!

2018-10-26I go to the Friends every two weeks or so. I absolutely adore this place. The ex-library copies are usually in great condition, perfectly fit for my personal collection. I have found some super interesting donated things as well, stuff you would never see in the wild. The shelves are well-organized and easy to browse. The staff are friendly and probably recognize me by now. I am so glad to support the Friends and their mission.

2020-02-09A true gem for book lovers and one of the Tri-State areas best kept secrets, The Friends Used Book Store at the Warehouse clearly outshines Half Price Books in terms of variety and especially in reasonable prices. It has that ambiance of a true, used book store...quiet and with the unmistakable aroma of vintage paper. The Friends has a large and ever changing selection...including more obscure and hard to find titles...which cannot be matched by other stores in the area. The inventory is fueled by donations, often by the very customers who shop there...and the benefit is that The Friends can resell books at low prices. I highly recommend that book lovers visit this location. My only suggestion is absolutely do not go during a big sale...as during my last visit the store was overcrowded and several of us, myself included, were advised to move our vehicles NOW as we had mistakenly parked in a neighboring businesses lot. As there was no nearby parking available, my visit was cut short. Regular prices here are low enough that there really is no benefit to enduring the overly crowded sale environment. Parking is extremely limited by a small lot and crowded side street...but if you go during regular business hours you should be fine and will be quite pleased with the experience.
