The Farm in other cities:
We got takeout on a Tuesday. It was a 2 plate sampler meal but was WAY more food than expected! It was all very tasty too.Wife and I got carry out but went inside to order. Atmosphere is dark and cozy and very un-intimidating. The lady at the counter was nothing but polite and gracious. I felt pampered and well cared for.Its reminiscent of Amish buffet with a reception type atmosphere.Come as you are, eat in buffet or take out for home or picnic (i brought own utensils for picnic).I cant wait to go back and eat inside. Especially if the lovely lady from my first visit is working.
Attended a wedding here where everything was extremely unorganized. I felt terrible for the bride because as the night concluded the man in charge of the venue audibly argued with the bride, her groom and their families in front of her guests. The bartenders were clueless and the drinks tasted like they barely had any alcohol in them. They never cut the cake until they were asked multiple times about it, and then it was cut very messily and rushed. I don’t think a full slice of cake made it onto a single plate. The man in charge was yelling at the woman trying to cut the cake for not doing it right, but did not offer any guidance and she continued to rush and do a very poor job of it. They had children helping them (Not any members of the wedding , their own children I would assume) touching all of the plates and silverware. The kitchen was playing music audibly during the ceremony, and staff members were walking in and out of the ceremony space, allowing the door to shut loudly and making noise. Extremely disappointing. During the buffet for dinner the woman serving salad put about 10 pieces of lettuce in each dish. I feel so bad for the poor bride and groom.
Went for an anniversary party. The pot roast is delicious! Atmosphere was nice. Well laid out with room to socialize and dance. However the older guy attending the bar was not friendly at all. Definitely not a people person. Other than that everything else was absolutely perfect!
Mt wife and I have gone to the Farm for years, always been satisfied. The owner is hands on, talks to you ask how the food was takes and interest in making your visit a pleasurable experience. Ham and roast beef are our favorites but the fried chicken is like mom made. You cant go wrong here.Everything is included, no tips are ask for or expected.
We have never been to The Farm in person, but we order them on Doordash quite a bit. The food is fantastic! Even better, we ordered them tonight and after it had been awhile someone from the restaurant called and said Doordash hadnt picked it up yet and apologized, then said he would call Doordash. Ive never had a restaurant follow up on a late delivery like that, it was so nice! Great food, great service.
Absolutely wonderful and pleasant staff, great food, clean and convenient layout. Definitely recommend booking with them for an affordable and enjoyable venue. Great for all kinds of events, wedding reception, funeral reception, dances, company dinners, holidays parties, etc.
These comments are in response to the review provided by Michael Livers on 4/17/21 around 1 pm. First of all Michael Livers is NOT part of the family that held the memorial lunch at The Farm on 4/16/21. Our family is very upset by his review as the children “playing” were the great-grandchildren of the deceased couple. The family was happy to see all the cousins playing together as we celebrated the lives of our parents. The children of the owners did open the door for us upon entering. They were very polite, not rude or obnoxious. We all enjoyed ourselves and felt The Farm serves the best fried chicken we have ever had. The manager was very accommodating to all our needs.
I have been here 3 times so far. The first 2 times were when they had their buffet and it was fantastic. The third time was after the shutdown when there wasnt a buffet. To me, not everything was fantastic. The service was still excellent, but the stew over noodles had way too much pepper or spice. The stew used to be over buttered noodles and now they are not. The chicken was delicious but too salty for my taste. A lot of items were pre-packaged, like someone else made it for them. The price was too high for 3 people, we paid nearly $50. I know that they are trying their hardest during this tough time. But my family and I will not go back til they go back to buffet eating. I wouldve given them 5 stars if the stew had been what they used to serve.
Great place to eat, watch what you read now as theres people now posting bad reviews on the sole purpose of what a sign said. This is what is wrong with this country, people disliking others for their political views. This is coming from the people that support a man that asked a 6 year old her age how old are you 17 18 with a response no im 6. Yea let me not side with people that support Kid touchers. But in all honesty I have a lot of good memories at The Farm some are for weddings and some are for funerals and everything I between. Ive never had any issue with staff or guest.
My family and I held a memorial lunch here on 04/16/21 after a family members passing. It was an unpleasant experience all the way around. First off we thought we were dining at a banquet hall but turns out we were paying to eat at a day care. The owners children were running around being rude and obnoxious. They were loud, screaming, fighting and crying while we tried to have a memorial lunch during a sad time. It was absolutely mind blowing that the kids were allowed to do and act however they wanted because their parents refused to acknowledge their actions and refused to quiet them or discipline them in any way, which myself and others in attendance found to be rude, and disrespectful. You could see on the mortified and embarrassed staffs faces that this was a regular occurrence and the children are allowed free reign to act however they want without anyone being held responsible/accountable for their actions. That alone showed us that the owners dont care about their customers or there dining experience. Again many of us decided then that we will NEVER return there again under any circumstances. They claim to have world famous fried chicken but they changed the breading or something because the chicken used to be mediocre at best but now they apparently replaced the recipe and seemed to use substandard and lower quality ingredients. Its right on par with the rest of the bland and flavorless food options they offer. Its sad that a once proud Delhi institution that every used to run to has become a place in Delhi that people run from. If youre going to allow your children to run around and be obnoxious then your going to continue to lose business. Also if your going to avoid paying your taxes and keep the money then it would be wise to use that money to update your decor and invest in better quality food and ingredients. If you continue to not take accountability for the establishment being run into the ground then nothing will improve by any means. Also the owner comes off as very fake and tries to present himself as a professional and model Christian but his actions simply show that he is selfish and only cares about himself and has no regard for you or your dining experience. If you refuse to take proper control of your establishment then when the doors close again, chances are they wont reopen under current ownership. The only true bright spot of the entire event was the welcoming and friendly staff. I truly wish you and the staff and your establishment the best of luck. This is only my opinion but I hope this possibly opens your eyes to some things you may not have noticed or your ignoring. Im sorry if this feels like an attack but Im only leaving a snapshot of my experience, Im not trying to discourage anyone from visiting but only leaving a review of my experience.
We were invited back by Dan personally to be guests for dinner. Im glad we took him up on his offer as everything was great from the start to finish! Dan was exceptionally friendly and made sure we were taken care of. Food was delicious! Thank you Dan, we will be sure to come again!
The Farm is a west side tradition! It was the premier place for wedding receptions and parties. The food is as good as it always was and the buffet is open on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and I believe, the weekends. Im glad its still open and has partnered with Landmark Productions to keep both feeding and entertaining us west siders!!!
We drove out of the way to come here and it was well worth it. The food, the service, the atmosphere all were outstanding. Instead of making a list of our favorite food in this restaurant, we will summarize by saying, “all were delicious!”. We ate so much, we wished we had a second stomach to hold more food. The owner was very hospitable and made us feel welcome, along with all the staff. Everyone working at this restaurant truly cares about costumer satisfaction. They have pride and they should. This restaurant has our highest recommendation and we definitely hope to return in the future.
After a great day at the Creation Museum, eating here was the icing on the cake. What a great experience! The food was amazing - best meatloaf ever! And food was hot, not lukewarm. I loved the chicken, the ribs, real mashed potatoes, green beans with ham and onions, cranberry salad, cheesecakes -- delicious! From the moment we arrived and the owner spoke to us on the bus and prayed for our meal, we knew we were in for a real treat. The owner told us the history of the building, his family, the restaurant, the city of Cincinnati, and his personal testimony of his belief in Christ and the healing which he had received. Praise God for directing us to this place!
Wow great dinner went last Thursday. Wow the highlight of the meal is definitely that amazing home cooked fried chicken . A very close second would be those fall of the bone ribs and tender meatloaf. And you cant forget about their amazing dessert . I had dinner with my family originally we were going to eat leftovers but then decided why not go to the farm . The service is great and the building has a lot of history which the owner kindly gives a small speech about. Over all 6/5 for good sevice and great food and great time .
I was here for an event in late October. It was held on a weeknight and I understand those rates are very attractive, compared to weekend rates.Although I agree with other reviews that the interior is outdated, it has been very well kept so it’s like walking into a time capsule, which I think is cool. The food was served buffet style. I had the roast beef and it was pretty good, certainly more juicy than you usually find at a buffet. The baked apples were amazing as well. I haven’t seen those served at a buffet in a long while, so once again a bit of nostalgia. The only negative thing I have to say is that it was very cold in the large hall, where this event was held. The temperatures outside were in the low 40’s and it didn’t feel like the heat had been turned on in the building yet. I had to put my coat back on shortly after arrival, and I noticed that a number of guests put their coats back on as the evening progressed so I wasn’t the only one to notice. To end on a positive note, I like it that the owner is attentive and follows up on posted reviews.
Home cooking deliciousness... Them smashed potatoes.. The green beans au gratin. Everything is soooo good. The staff is so friendly and funny. Love the closeness definitely a wonderful spot for family dinners.. Parties.. Whatever u want good gome cooking . Will definitely be back.
The farm held my wedding reception and was absolutely beautiful! They were so great to work with and even made us an extra pasta dish just because! They work with you for whatever you want to do with Serving alcohol and really listen to what you want. Their food is amazing and we received so many compliments about it from our guests!
Neat history and decent food. Not to be critical but in hopes that updates could be made but the owners statement that their venue was the place in Cincinnati to hold weddings in the 60s, 70s, and 80s is somewhat telling. They are very friendly and welcoming and family oriented. That is truly wonderful.
My sister and I dined at The Farm on a recent Thursday night. I was really impressed with the food. I am a fairly picky eater, but I loved everything that I ate. The spaghetti and meatballs were delicious! The garlic bread was perfect - real butter! Salad - crisp greens including spinach. Macaroni and cheese, fried rice (an unexpected tasty surprise). The fried chicken was top notch - perfectly crispy and not greasy. Real mashed potatoes, tasty gravy, Swiss green beans, broccoli, cauliflower and carrot mix, meatloaf, bbq ribs, and more. I truly believe there is something for everyone. The desserts were amazing! Carrot cake, chocolate cake, whipped cream, 14 flavors of cheesecake, baked apples with cinnamon, chocolate mousse and more. The price includes drinks (alcohol is extra) and dessert. No tipping! The parking lot is large and level. The facility has several different air conditioning systems and furnaces (and also back up generators) so you can be assured you will always be comfortable. The service was fantastic, and everyone seemed to be enjoying taking care of their guests. The owners are very visible and hands on which makes for satisfied customers. Come hungry - leave happy.
Our group has 10 members and we go out each month. The Farm was very accommodating even tho there were also 2 tour busses there. Buffet line went quickly and they didnt run out of anything. Big selection of food. Owner is very personable and told the history of the restaurant, famous people from Cincinnati area, etc. Friendly staff. We were pleased.
Had to update my review.Recent visit (July 2021) Food was not as great. Seems the quality has gone down. The meal felt very overpriced and the selection was lower. The opinion of our party was that it might be awhile before we return if at all. Also, we did not find your politically motived sign message on 7/21/21 very humourous. So we are voting as well, but with our wallets. Perpetuating false information to seem witty is nieve for a business. You could have just posted God Bless America and left it at that. The servers are what brought it up to two stars. I hope they found your message as funny.
They are known for there ribs. Today they were all dried out and hard could not eat them Dear Manager to your response I did not come in for any other meals. I have been in your establishment before and the ribs was always awsome. I had bragged to my 80 year old mom about how awsome your ribs are. I was very disappointed as I stated above they were horrible. I will call you today so we can discuss this.
Food was simply not good and the decor is seriously outdated. Ive been there for weddings in the past but most recently as a place to gather after a funeral. Dude got on the microphone several times throughout; he kept sounding like he was advertising the venue we were in, kept referring to their famous chicken. It was all just very weird. Perhaps this place doesnt have as much local hosting competition as it should. My parents say it looks the same as it did when they got married in the mid 80s.(Extra star lost for owner explicitly asking for a better rating)
My parents recently had their 70th wedding anniversary and we wanted to celebrate with dinner along with about 25 friends and family on a Saturday night. We chose the Farm and I am SO GLAD we did!First off, I have to talk about the food. It truly was amazing. Carved beef, ham and fried chicken were delicious. The night I visited to check it out, they also had ribs on the buffet that looked super yummy. Too many sides to list. For dessert, 12 kinds of cheesecake were out, bread pudding and other good looking treats.Secondly, I absolutely must talk about the service. It is also amazing! Dan and Donna bent over backwards to accommodate our large group. With only a few days notice, they were able seat us together and comfortably. The bartender made great drinks! Even the kids clearing the tables were friendly and accommodating. Last but not least, I wish I had gotten the first name of the gal who was working the register at the entrance, because I would give her a loud shout out. She helped me keep track of my bill and my large group. More importantly she was genuinely sweet, welcoming and unrattled while doing so.I had a GREAT experience here and highly recommend it. All of this and so AFFORDABLE !!Thank you to the Elsaesser family and their great staff. Dee M. Lawrenceburg, IN
The Farm has always been the go to place on the west side of town for a reasonably priced wedding reception or for a great chicken and ribs buffet on Tuesdays and Thursdays! The food quality is always top-notch and prices are great for a quality dinner with excellent service. We recently had a funeral reception there for our Step-dad Hank. While we only had a group of about 60, they treated us like it was a big deal. I highly recommend The Farm!
Went for the Tuesday night buffet. Food was incredible for a buffet, and the fact that I dont have too tip (in fact, I cant tip because they pay a living wage) is incredible. The only reason they lose a star is for the cult like feeling of the manager. He was a bit over the top with the Christian music .. and when a group from Virginia came in, he played the state song of Virginia after playing the when the saint go marching in... On the edge of creepy, but that wont stop me coming back, hopefully on a Thursday next time for the ribs.
Our bus group from Wentworth, NC visited and ate here on October 4, 2018. The food was absolutely delicious (be sure to try the fried rice and bread pudding)..the best food I ate on our 5 day trip! The manager gave us a fabulous Cincinnati presentation and prayed for our safety home and blessings on us, our children, and our grandchildren! This brought tears to my eyes because the prayer was so very sweet and heartfelt....PLEASE visit this establishment if you are in Cincinnati...you will NOT be disappointed!
If you want to go for just a dinner or a wedding reception, you will be in aw by the great tasting food, while knowing your helping the local economy, and supporting the very best in people. Owner has deep roots here, dating back to 1953, I think. Dont forget to check out this establishment! Youll be glad you did!
LoveThe Farm!!! Our kids had our 50th anniversary here and it couldnt have been any better. The staff and the food are always great!! We go back quite often and enjoy it again. If youve never been here you need to at least try it out. It may turn out to be one of your favorite places too.
Well since you must knowp, your food is terrible. Everything there was straight out of a can or bag. The flavor is nonexistant. Anyone can buy a giant can of corn and heat it up. The fact you charge $16+ tax per person is laughable since the food quality is lacking. I was there january 18th, 2020. The decor is outdated which isnt that big of a deal to me. Maybe you should have taken the money you didnt pay towards your federal tax and use it towards higher quality food. I rated your business without an explination because frankly I didnt want to be rude and point out your obvious shortcomings. But from what I have read of your response to mine/other people who have given you a low rating you are not a very nice person and it is obviously hurting your business in the end. So there you go. Theres your review.
The Farm is outstanding! Our tour bus took us there after visiting the Ark Encounter in Williamston, Kentucky all day. The food was fantastic! The best fried chicken and mashed potatoes Ive had in a long time (besides Babes Chicken in Granbury, Texas where I live). The service is outstanding as well. Extremely organized. It is home cookin served buffet style. There must have been at least 8 bus loads of people there. Sweet Christian family owns/operates it. Their 6 year son came up to my almost 83 year old mother and said, are you finished with your plate young lady? She replied, yes I am. He said may I take your plate? So cute. Loved every minute. Highly recommend!!
Great Fried Chicken Ive been here 20 years God bless the food I love the ribs and pulled pork sorry if I ever said anything bad about the form its awesome got the farm in the Sisters of Charity Carpenter at my house broken into somebody still dont like those out of the garage everything that was metal sorry I went off on everybody
I heard so much about the place, but I wasnt impressed on my visit there. We were looking for a venue for a wedding. Everything was out dated and some in need of repair. The food wasnt bad....but nothing to write home to mom about! All just the usual except the mashed potatoes, they were on the runny side.
The Farm is amazing if you’re trapped in 1973. Mediocre buffet food and poorly stocked bar complement a decor that would be right at home in a 1960’s C-grade noir detective movie.A Delhi/west side favorite, but mostly because everyone on the west side is mired in the 1950’s and think the drab dark wood paneling is “classy” and that Juengling is a “premium” beer and that Crown Royal is top shelf. At least getting there is inconvenient.
Food sucks ( low grade nursing home food)Location sucks(at first I thought it was too far away but now I realize its not far enough!)Prices suck (dad wants his money back)Atmosphere sucks (even their stratosphere sucks, I didnt make it to their ionosphere but Im sure it sucks)

2022-05-29Had my sisters Celebration of Life here yesterday after her services. Everything was perfect food, staff, the ease of reserving and communication from Dan. Everyone was very happy. If you have a loved one you are looking for a venue after services in the Delhi area or Westside Cincinnati I highly recommend The Farm.

2022-06-05Too expensive, food is good but options are super limited. No healthy choices at all! Atmosphere is very dated and sort of difficult to maneuver for elderly people who seem to be the target demographic.

2022-05-06The wait staff was great and the food was good. The place was a little small though. The banquet went on forever, but that wasnt their fault lol

2021-11-20My sons school had a fundraiser event at The Farm. My first time there and the staff was so friendly and accommodating to us all. Met the owner and appreciated the hot coffee. Food so delicious. Thank you.
