This is one of those establishments where youll see the manager clearing plates & tables and walking around filling customers coffee mugs, not barking orders and standing around . My girlfriend and I came here on a crowded Sunday morning and were seated promptly. This was our first time coming, so I took my time to survey the menu. Our waitress was very attentive and patient; she had to return to our table 3 times before I knew what I had an appetite for. I ordered the Chicken and Waffles with a side of Biscuits and Gravy; my girlfriend ordered The Jackpot Special (I think). While waiting for our food, I noticed the place has a nice sense of hustle and bustle, which I expected for a place this cozy, at capacity, during Sunday brunch. I didnt mind the liveliness at all.First, our biscuits and gravy came out piping hot, which we destroyed since it was the first thing we ate that day. Our main plates came out soon after (10min later). Everything was cooked to perfection. As you can see, she likes her eggs over easy. I dont, so I didnt try them. They put red onions in their potatoes, which I thought was a nice touch. My waffle was light and crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. My chicken was very good, however, I suspect they fry their chicken and fish in the same oil (??). I thought the crust tasted a bit fishy, so, if you have a fish allergy, I would ask.Altogether, we both enjoyed our food and first experience here. The bill came to just under $25 and we were in and out in less than an hour. Ill be returning here again.
We arrived a family of 4 at 10:30am. There wasn’t a wait for seating we were sat immediately after arrival. Our silverware was brought to us in a handful and laid on a stack of napkins for us to sort by person. We asked for a hot cup of water to sterilize them and then set our silverware accordingly. We requested our drink order after several patrons seated after us received their drink order. Our waitress first appeared at our table a few moments later and asked for our food order. Once our food arrived—about 20 mins later the waffles, pancakes and French toast were brick hard and cold—the butter wouldn’t melt when we attempted to apply it-and the waffles wouldn’t “bend” when pressing the butter on top. The sausage and gravy —one bite it was distasteful! The eggs scrambled with cheese had the cheese melted on top of the eggs not scrambled inside. Omelet had the pepper jack slice of cheese melted on top of the omelette instead of inside. It wasn’t the worse dining experience on a vacation we ever had, but it’s close. We love to try Mom and Pop to support small businesses but this wasn’t a win for us.
The staff was friendly and attentive. It wasnt super crowded when we went but that was because we came about 11:00ish after the breakfast rush. It is always busy enough for people to know there is good food there! I came with my mouth ready for chicken and waffles for my birthday but there has been a shortage of wings which is what they usually serve with it. That was not their fault. I would definitely eat there again.
This place is small but cozy making it fill up fast. My hubby and I would pass it all time and the lot was full. After dining there today, I understand why, the food was amazing. The best tasting home fries Ive had since my grandmother was alive. Pancakes were amazing also. I highly recommend.
I signed in for a table of 4 at 11:20AM. I am just leaving at 1:45 PM. My daughter NEVER even got her pancakes. The food wasn’t even that good-just okay at best! Never received refills of water/hot water or anything.Would not recommend. The bathroom was so disgustingly dirty that I cannot even imagine what the kitchen looks like. YUCK
***not autism friendly *****Brought my daughter and my son (4yr old autistic boy ) in for breakfast. My son was agitated because he was hungry. After about 30 mins of waiting for food my son became more agitated. Then the hostess walks up to the table and says that they are going to have to box up our food . So I asked if they were putting us out she says yes. I then stated that we don’t want the food if you are putting us out. So very embarrassed but was not going to make a scene with my children I left. I called later to get owner information and was hung up on twice, third time I inquired about how to contact owner was told he will be there Saturday at 1 then hung up on again. Called back spoke with a different lady she was polite and answered all my questions. Will be following up with owner about this incident
Sorry was disappointed . Never had a problem with the food always loved coming here especially for the Chicken and waffles. My favorite and travel from Cincinnati. Our Waffle had to be sent back one side over cooked and the other side not cooked . Sent back and was perfectly cooked afterwards but taste was a little greasy and made me nauseous.. Chicken wings no longer served why is it still on the menu. Waitress said cost too much but maybe they will put it back on the menu she said waitress should have told us that. so when over cooked chicken tenders were bought to the table . Well I was surprised so why did she bring chicken that I couldnt chew . Sent back and gave us cold bacon. The fried potatoes and onions..over cooked and cold didnt see any onion. Only charge was for coffee and eggs which were perfect soft scrambled. Waitress need to cover up more . exposed bottoms from too short shorts not a good wardrobe choice . especially family restaurant They need to hire the old cook back. No photos . Sorry Brunch Club better before building burnt down.
Ok. So the price is a little higher than I expected, but the service was on point. The eggs were hot and the pancakes, fluffy. Coffee was strong, not like that Hasty Tasty brown water. Tip* get in early on Saturday morning and sit by the corner windows to stay out of the sunlight. It was worth it, and honestly great to get out of the house. The kitchen tends to be a little slow, so sip that coffee and unwind a little. Don’t be in a rush and enjoy your breakfast when it arrives. I’ll definitely be coming back!
Had been wanting to try this place for a while and a friend took me not too long ago. Going back today and wanted to check the hours and thought Id share a review. This place is fantastic. I was extremely impressed by both the quality and the prices and number of options. I had the chicken cordon bleu and my friend got the steak and eggs and both were just top notch. Id definitely recommend and theyre not overpriced at all.
Favorite waffle and chicken wings. Drive from Cincinnati before the fire and covid-19. My Waffle flat undone recooked taste awful and greasy chrispy..chicken over cooked tenders. Not worth coming back . Dont know if new cook . Waitress in way too short shorts.. could see bottoms when leaning over. Waitress said cost too much for whole wings .. but thats what is still on the menu and thats what people come to get.why change. I could not wait for the reopen and now I am disappointed.
Very quaint place giving an ambience of a local diner serving good food with friendly service at a very reasonable prices .. my son had the quiche and muffin (came with a fruit cup), my daughter had biscuits and gravy and a bagel, and I ordered a combo with biscuits and gravy along with scrambled eggs and breakfast fries .. total bill was $26 for the 3 of us .. this is my sons go-to breakfast place whenever family and friends come to visit him at UD .. the only suggestion that I have would be to add a little more sausage to the biscuits and gravy
Been eating here since I was a kid and I must say one if the best breakfast spots in Dayton close to Downtown. I suggest getting their pancakes you cant go wrong, golden with a slightly crisp edge gaurinted to fill you up. I dont live in dayton anymore but always come back when home.
The home fries and omelet were disgusting and oily, greasy, I havent been here in over a year, I came for my birthday breakfast last year. it was soo yummy. hmm maybe its because I did a carryout. maybe my experience would be better if I dine in. but it was a waste of my money.
Doesnt taste like it use to! Period! French toast was terrible! Just taste like Bread with syrup on it, no flavor! They need a new cook or something! But they owner or manager was very polite and welcoming! Maybe it was me today! But they do have turkey sausage and bacon, thats why they WINNING.
Went on a busy Sunday before 10 a.m. woman behind counter told me she could not tell me how long wait would be BEFORE I even asked or placed my order, before I could even say anything she said I dont mean to sound so harsh but were just busy , I said okay and still placed my order which was ready in less than 20 minutes, that was my first visit and it will also be my last, food was OK.
You have to go up to the counter and flag down a waitress to have your name listed for seating.Last time I went they were very busy and my order was lost multiple times (I was told computer error) and took about 45min for the food to come out. BUT the waitress was very kind and comped the meal which i appreciated a lot. The potato pancakes are amazing!
Excellent meal and awesome service. The staff was warm and friendly, despite us unknowingly arriving near closing time. Our food was wonderful and arrived at the table piping hot! Even my pancakes were hot, a feat many restaurants cant seem to master. Our server was delightful, our drinks never emptied, and we did not feel the slightest bit rushed. 10 out of 10. We will definitely return.
Today I ordered The Potato Pancake Breakfast. I can say these were the worst potato pancakes I’ve ever tasted in my life. I personally know they are made different ways as I make them myself. I just wanted to they this place because it has been mentioned to me several times. I picked up my order within the 15 minutes I was advised. Drove 5 minutes to work and the potato cakes weren’t even hot nor luke warm. It was the shredded potatoes smashed together. They potato cakes aren’t even cooked all the way through. The sausage and eggs were the only thing that tasted good. I also don’t understand why restaurants place cold items in hot containers. They placed the sour cream and applesauce in the container which made them warm. I’m not pleased with the main part of this meal. I will try one more time with something else.
Im a regular here with both friends and family. The owner is personable. The staff is friendly and efficient. All the type of people who you would want to be friends with. They custom make things for me all the time and whether you order straight off the menu or ask for a customized creation, you cant get around the fact that you can always depend on a top notch product whenever you eat here.
I don’t get to this little restaurant nearly often enough. I have never had a better Belgian waffle and the pancakes are super fluffy. Everyone is so friendly and service is excellent, even when they are very busy... and they usually are. Try it... you won’t be disappointed!
This restaurant is the best kept secret in Dayton!! The food is awesome, and fairly priced. The portions are well worth the price, you will not go hungry after eating here. The serving staff are some if the best around, they take care of you with excellent service and a friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend everyone to try this restaurant out. Serving standard brunch food, with the entire menu available from open to close. Works great for third shifters looking fordinner and first shifters looking for a quick pick me up, andanyone looking for anything in between.
The inside is nice, not extravagant, but adequate. Parking is difficult for larger vehicles like my 2010 F-150. I ordered 2 eggs made omelet style with grilled onions, an order of basil/ onion toast, and a coffee. Everything was exactly how I ordered it. The service was good, thoughtful, and kept my coffee full and hot. Overall, nice place.
Ive visited this restaurant for 20 + years & Im always pleased with the experience. Some of the best pancakes & omelets you can find. Many choices for breakfast & lunch. Kind & attentive service & you get your meal very fast too. Theyre always packed, but its well worth the wait.
Great food ,decent prices, good service. Tends to get very busy at times , due to its small size. Worth any wait. Generous portions of food. Location is not horrible from northern Dayton. When busy parking can be a bit scarce. Not great for large groups unless you get there real early.
First time there and was pleasantly surprised. Its a small place on a corner lot, but is bigger inside than you would think. Great atmosphere. Obviously this is a favorite place for many. The food was awesome. Great tasting and large portions for a really good price. I will definitely go back!
I used to love this place and went here a lot when I was in college. I called today for a take out order and the server refused to make a special order stating unfortunately thats not on our menu and we cant do that. Knowing perfectly well that they could have easily swapped out a few ingredients on one of their menu items, I was not impressed. If you have any special dietary requests or needs, be wary of this place.
Our group wanted to try out a new place that was highly reviewed in Dayton. After waiting almost an hour and a half to be seated for a party of 6, the least I could say was that we were disappointed. The hostess told is 20 more mins 3 different times along the way. When seated, the waitress was very rude and unfriendly. The food was just okay. Our orders came out incorrect for 3 out of 6 plates, but at this point it wasnt worth pointing out.I wouldnt recommend and will not be returning.
We just got food from here for the first, and probably the last time. My fiance got the peanut butter chip pancakes which online shows them topped with the chips. Instead they were in the pancakes, and were burnt. Thus causing it to taste like burnt sugar, and peanuts. I got the biscuits, and gravy breakfast. There was literally only 3 tiny pieces of sausage in the gravy, and the hash browns did not have onions in them even though I was asked if I wanted them, and said yes. The two eggs that came with my meal was literally the only thing cooked correctly. This is a shame, because the pictures of the food online were completely different than what we were served.
Waitress and staff were super polite and atmosphere was pretty good, what you’d expect at a little while in the wall, but when she brought my syrup for the French toast she pulled it out of a HUGE vat built into the counter and scooped out a portion for me. I hate fake maple syrup like most American places serve but was prepared to eat a little of it anyways but the only flavor this syrup had was a tiny bit of sweet and being kinda lukewarm
If you are considering coming here, DONT if you want to have any shred of faith left in humanity. We were sat at the first table when you walked in, which should have already been a sign this was not going to go well. We were then visited exactly TWICE by our server in an hour, while the tables behind us were sat, fed and cared for the entire time. We were nothing but polite and smiles while there but I honestly could not be more disappointed in the service. The food was awful and we never were even offered drinks or water during that time. Our server sat and talked to her friends at the counter the entire time while we sat there, and never bothered to check on us at any point. When we were first sat, we didn’t even know we had a server due to the fact she NEVER BOTHERED TO COME OVER. Probably hands down the worst experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant.
This place has fallen off. Last time I came here I ordered chicken and waffles and the chicken tasted like it was battered in cornmeal!! 🤮 then today I ordered a waffle and it was flat like a pancake and tasted like onions as I cut into it burnt onions was in it. Then the potato’s tasted liked they were boiled , no crisp edges no taste of oil,. This use to be my favorite breakfast spot. But it’s not like it use to be
The atmosphere was fun, waitress Tiffany was excellent. Food took a little while to come out. I got eggs benedict and they were a little plain tasting. Hashbrowns are more like fried shaved potatoes but were done to my liking. Price was very reasonable. Coffee is delicious.
We waited for an hour and a half to be seated for a party of 6 and were told 3 times 15 more minutes. When they seated us, it was split between two tables and the waitress was rude and unfriendly. We ended up moving to a larger table that opened up but still waited before our order was taken. Food was mediocre. Will not return, and do not recommend, especially for parties larger than 4.
My boyfriend and I went there not to long ago, we waited 15 minutes to be sat but were okay with since we heard good reviews. Finally being seated, they only got us our drinks which were water, and 25 minutes later our server never came back. We left. It’s definitely too small and over crowded, servers over worked and definitely they favor regulars over new comers. Nasty experience, won’t be back.
The Brunch Club is a timeless classic. The staff treat you like family even if they never met you before. The menu is expensive for a place open only a few hours daily. This is a place for a Monday through Friday breakfast or lunch. They do not host the Bloody Mary bars which have become popular. The food is delicious, if you are looking for the homemade experience. Nothing taste boxed or previously frozen. Love the Club.
Local diner Ive come to for years. Breakfast served all day. Sometimes theres a wait and sometimes parking is tricky. Located just outside the downtown core. Food and service is always good. The owner is out on the floor refilling coffee and it has a cozy atmosphere. Good place to bring out-of-town guests.
As a child, I came here often with my family. Im 35 and the place really took a turn for the worst within the past 4-5yrs. I LOVED it as a child but hated eating here as an adult. The place was extremely dingy, dusty, and dirty. I had to stop looking up because we were seated under an awning type curtain caked in old dust and dirt...I could just imagine it constantly falling into my food. Our service a few months ago was horrible. We had a big group of 6 married couples that wouldve tipped VERY well if only our service was worth it. We rarely were checked upon and our servers attitude left MUCH to be desired. My husband and I felt terrible that we suggested this place to our friends for breakfast.Now...I just went yesterday and saw that theyve done a little remodeling. Theyve removed those awful curtains which make the tiny place much brighter and welcoming and painted the walls. BUT...the food.I ordered fried hashbrown potatoes with onion, extra crispy, and 3 fried chicken wings. Im not sure who they hired as a cook but they NEED their old cook back!!!!! The potatoes wereflavorless and my darn chicken wings were undercooked! I LOVED their chicken and waffles before. Unfortunately, my last few experiences have caused me to say Good Bye for now to the Brunch Club.Id love to be able to return to a childhood favorite BUT not with its current COOK or servers..
One star is too high! I liked nothing about it. The place was recommended to me by the staff at a nearby hotel. The tall blonde waitress with the print top and pink shorts tried to rush me to order and then would not come and take my order even when I indicated i was ready to order....which was at least 7-10 minutes later. When i did get her attention, she glared at me, wagged her head, and said Ill be over there in a moment! I dont need attitude with breakfast. She was quite rude. I left. I also wrote a letter to the owner and manager.
Food and service was excellent. The parking lot and restaurant itself is small in capacity. Get there early on the weekends to avoid waiting. The counter area is first come first serve as long as a stool is open. Carryout is also an option here. The main lot has tight spaces for large vehicles. There is a newer backup lot directly behind it. During the weekdays this might be shared by the surrounding businesses.
Great, classic brunch place. If you like eggs, pancakes, bacon, etc. then youve found a great place to go. I’ve brought family and friends from out of town here, marking it as a place in Dayton I think is worth showing off to outsiders. Parking’s tough, but worth it.
They say their Chicken and Waffles are better than Roscoes in L.A. Not even close. They serve chicken wings fried with way too much batter. The waffle was worse tasting (salty) than most I have had at free breakfasts in hotels. The server was very friendly. The food and the coffee were sub-par for what it cost.
This is a very good place to eat. They are only open until 2 pm, serving breakfast and brunch. The food is excellent and plentiful. Located on the perimeter of downtown Dayton, it is a quick stop with easy access. I highly recommend the Brunch Club for a nice, informal meal.
We were in there Tuesday July 7th around 2 p.m. and like always the food was excellent. It was just us and one other couple. Someone in the kitchen was extremely upset and thats putting it mildly. She was using the f-bomb and cursing so much and so loud that we were uncomfortable. A waitress said something to the hostess and the hostess who was 4 foot away said I can barely hear her. That was the first time I had an unpleasant experience there...like I said the food couldnt be better. I find it hard to believe not one person tried to stop this, She kept saying I wont be here tomorrow trust that might be the best thing that could happen.
The Brunch Club is the most unsanitary and disgusting place I have ever eaten....not to mention the lack of service. The hostess was incredibly rude while we waited ten minutes to just put our name in. After we were finally acknowledged and seated, a cockroach was crawling on the table next to us and those customers had to notify a waitress who after exiting the kitchen we could see the cooks wore no sanitary caps and there was a mountain of food piled up on the floor in the kitchen. We left after seeing that there were NO sanitary measures being taken in the kitchen or establishment. Completely disgusted with lack of service and the apparent health code violations.
Fried fish basket on menu 4 pieces, received 3. Had to get up and get myself things I wanted twice while watching server flirt with another customer. Fries over done. We ordered a rubin they were out of slaw. Server didnt know. Strange blue thing in soup. Server didnt come to check that our food was ok till we were almost done. Dissapointing
We’re in the middle of a pandemic and none of the employees were wearing masks even with the stricter measures that were placed this week and I didn’t see any type of notice or enforcement happening. Food was not fresh and dried out from it being held too long in the kitchen. Maybe you should take precautions to keep Dayton open regardless of your personal values.
Came with my bestie who has been my bestie since 4th grade, my sissy and my besties next to youngest brother. They are originally from Dayton but have lived in LA for the last 40 + years. Her brother remembered this restaurant when it was a white Tower. Our breakfast today was very good. Our service was good as well. Have been here several times General Lee on Sunday following Church.
I never write reviews but the Breakfast Club is the last place I will ever eat at again My mother had came into town and I wanted to take her to Breakfast club because we usually eat there when she comes. The table that we were sat at was wet from pop that was not cleaned when we were seated no big deal. I asked the waitress for some napkins which she brought. But with those napkins she brought a little friend with her. My mom and are drinking coffee and out from the stack of napkins a BED BUG!! crawls out. I smash it and call the waitress who grabs the napkin and balls it up and shoves it in her pocket.( YUCK)She then proceeds to bring us another set of napkins and says these should be ok and walks off No apology nothing. Who does that!! She never told the manager so I stopped him and let him know it was a Bed Bug in the napkins that were sat at our table, and he says OH A BED BUG,with no shock what so ever. The waitress proceeds to tell him yeah it was a bed bug in the napkins and he says Oh Ok and walks off. AGAIN NO APOLOGY!!I was pissed to say the least but I didnt want to flip out and ruin what was already a horrible and embarrassaring situation since I had picked to eat here. Needless to say the food was just as nasty as the service. The waitress never came back to check on us. We only had the coffe she brought when we sat down, The potatoes were so greasy I couldnt eat them. We were so nervous about another Bed Bug appearing and risk taking it home we couldnt focus on our food to the point my mother said I cant take it we are leaving. The manager came and cleared the plates so I am thinking Ok he is going to apologize now. Well he didnt there was never an apology given. Then while sitting in my car I see the cook come out and she is smoking and hocking spit in front of the building, smh. I wish I never took my mom there but I will never go there again and I am going to tell everyone I know DO NOT EAT AT THE BREAKFAST CLUB CAFE!!!!
Depending on what time you come, the wait can get rather long, but its ALWAYS worth it. The staff is so friendly, the environment is great, and the food is fantastic (especially for the price). I have nothing but great things to say and I bring all my friends and visitors here. (Get the coleslaw, trust me)

2022-07-12The brunch club is always a great Dayton staple. The service is always nice and the food is very very good. Had the short stack of blueberry pancakes eggs and home fries. Parking is a little hectic and there are not a lot of seats in the dining area so you may have a bit of a wait but it’s worth it.

2022-06-01I could tell from the pictures the food would be good and I was right!! It was delicious! We got there around 9:30 or 10 on a Saturday and were lucky to get a table right away. Its a hidden gem. The coffee was good too, nice and strong! The pancakes were the best Ive had at a restaurant in a while.

2022-06-01The Brunch Club has great breakfast and lunch fare. On this visit, I ordered my home fries without onions but they didnt arrive that way. The waitress quickly made it right and got another plate of potatoes for me without onions. This place is on the small side but has great food. Highly recommend!

2022-07-10Before the pandemic this place was a five, but per the rise in chicken prices the quality is not as good. So long to the place that used to serve my favorite chicken and waffles. It hurts because I know they cant help it
