Great service, friendly staff!I had my gears fixed on my bike (10 yrs) and brakes adjusted, runs like new!The owner was very helpful and kind to me and everyone he spoke with. I told him, this is such a nice place!I hope everyone who goes there will have such a nice experience as I had, this is a family owned business and I wish the family much success for the future!Marian Helmick
Mike and Chris are knowledgeable and helped me to stay within my budget for a proposed upgrade on my classic steel-frame bike. There is a wide selection of Surlys in the shop to admire and hanker after, too.Good atmosphere and technical expertise combine to form a satisfying experience.
I needed higher handle bars they helped me select what I needed. I was going to install myself and add cables but I could not pass up price they charged to install. they also fixed me up with tires more appropriate for how I ride. Plus found a taller seat post for my sons bike. It was nice to be taken care of people who are caring and passionate about my ability to enjoy my bike
My wife & I recently purchased bikes here and I highly recommend this shop The owners (husband & wife team of Mike & Laura) are kind, friendly people who took the time to answer all of our questions & help us find the right bike that fit each of our needs. We were allowed to test-ride several bikes and there was never a feeling of hard sell or pressure sales.(In fact, it took as multiple visits to decide on our ultimate purchases.) All of our questions were answered patiently and they really listened to what we were looking for. Our bikes were adjusted to fit & Mike encouraged us to come back in a week to fine-tune the fit (which we did for my wifes bike). Great service. Prices reasonable & very good selection of high-quality bikes (also: bike helmets sold at close to same price youd find on Amazon.) Finally: I love the dog, Zoe...and there are usually free cookies on the counter.
I was looking for a bicycle shop to build up a custom Surly Troll for bikepacking and touring. I went to Eddys Bike Shop, I went to Century Cycles, and I went to Broadway Cyclery. Without a doubt, Broadway Cyclery is the best bike shop I have found. When you walk into Broadway Cyclery Mike and Laura greet you with a friendly hello, and a smile. Sometimes they even offer you cookies! Right away, you feel welcomed into this great shop located in the heart of Bedford. The atmosphere in the shop is one of an old time bike shop instead of the usual sterile antiseptic retail store. The customer service provided by Mike and Laura is really really great. They are only interested in helping you get what you need, instead of pushing things you dont want. One time I showed up to the shop when it was closed. At the time, I didnt realize the store was closed on Mondays. Mike and Laura were working inside, saw me standing outside, and opened up the shop. We ended up talking about the bike build for more than an hour. On more than one occasion they stayed open a little later because it was hard for me to get to the shop in time after work. You cant get better service that that!Mike and Lauras bicycle knowledge and expertise is as good or better than their customer service. I am the type of person that spends hours researching and comparing every part that goes on the bike. Even with all the research I did, here and there I would make a wrong turn regarding compatibility of certain parts. Mike always set me back on the right path, without making me feel like I was dumb because I didnt know as much as he did.If you have ever built a bike up from scratch you know there are, literally, a lot of moving parts and compatibility issues. 8 speed, 9 speed, 10 speed, 11 speed, Road parts vs Mountain parts, crank sets, gear ratios, gear inches, long pull brakes, short pull brakes, shifters, etc. etc. etc. I also know what I want, and do not like to compromise. Where other bike shops said That wont work, it cant be done, Mike knew how to make everything fit together while building exactly the bicycle I wanted.Once we had decided on a build list, Mike put everything together with the attention to detail only an expert builder can provide. After I took the new bike home and decided I wanted a few adjustments made, Mike made them quickly and without extra charge.I know this is a long review, and it might seem to good to be true. But, just look at all the other reviews about this shop. This really is a great place to buy a new bike, a used bike, or have an old one repaired. As Im sure you can tell by now, if you want anything bicycle related, I highly recommend the Broadway Cyclery.
I have never been in the store. What I can say is that I called for info about a used fuji I was looking to buy (not from them), and I was given all the info I needed, despite it being busy and I was just a guy on the phone. I am very appreciative. With service like that this is definitely a place Id head to.
This is one of best (and coolest) bike shop in town! The service is excellent and these folks have a superb selection of bikes and stock first rate accessories for all your needs. Mike the owner is very personable and helpful. Check them out for anything bike related!
Was in from out of town, and needed a new tire for my Brompton. When I checked the Brompton site it led me to The Broadway Cyclery. I called and confirmed they had the tire. When we got there we were pleasantly surprised by the shop, their inventory and the husband and wife who own it. They fixed me up and got me on my way. Very pleasant experience.
Mike and Laura are wonderful! They helped me special order my Brompton. They went out of their way to help me find the perfect set up for me at a competitive price. They have excellent customer service and are extremely knowledgable about their products. I would highly recommend Broadway Cyclery!
Well, its February 24 2017. I went in to Broadway cycles wanting to trade in my 29in bike for something smaller. Mike helped me out and said he would take my bike for 80 trade in towards anything the store. Granted Im not an expert but I do believe when you work with someone who owns a business, they are the experts. Mike showed me a bike that is size fitting to me with 80 off the price, I bought it for $100 plus a $40 lock. I admit it was a nice bike. A Schwinn too. Here is where things go south...I take it home to adjust it to go riding, started cleaning it up a bit and adjust the seat. I come across the model number s2601wmi. I said to myself hey why not go ahead and look this up on to see features and specs. Come to find out that I bought a womans bike. Im a man mind you and I said oh no I cant ride this. I called Mike a half hour after I bought it and told him this a womans bike. He replies with does it matter? Yes. Yes it does. If you are an expert then you should know what you are selling to your customers. After 20mins of being on the phone he said he would take it back. When I get there he tells me that there is a $25 restocking fee. I told him that you knew you sold me a womans bike and that he is responsible to make sure there is no surefire way of me bringing back a product. I was calm the entire time. I explained that when I sell electronics I sell people what they need not what they want. I want a bike but I need a mans bike. He hit me with this backstory of why certain bikes are womens bikes; tried to tell him that none of that applies to me. Its not 1900 and I dont wear skirts. I spent 150 on two items. I only got $80 back due to having to keep the $40 bike chain and a restocking fee. I pleaded with him to to keep my bike I traded as a restocking fee and give me 100 even and Ill keep the chain. Mike says he didnt want my bike in the first place because he was just being courteous. Had I known that I wouldnt of even bothered. Then after another half hour of working a deal to get my money back. He asks me if I still have the free repair kit he gave me for free... I said why? He replies because you get to keep it if you buy a bike. The look on my face most of told him never mind. Because he back pedaled that. But I know that extra $15 I didnt get back is for the kit.Bottom line: I am all for small businesses but there is a reason why people shop at big chain stores. Dont be greedy, do your job right and do it once. Im sorry but this is one small business establishment I can not stand behind. I will never come back here again and I will steer my other friends away from this place.
The Broadway Cyclery has a unique assortment of bikes that you will be hard pressed to find anywhere else, Mike is, as you would expect, very knowledgeable about all things bike, but more important he is friendly and willing to answer all the questions you may have. I would recommend stopping by The Broadway Cyclery and check out his stock of bicycles Im pretty sure you will find something to test ride, be it road, touring or cargo.

2021-08-17Mike and the team took care of rebuilding a bad MTB wheel on the spot to keep me in a single day tour of every MTB trail in the Cleveland area. The service was fantastic and quality of work was the best I have ever seen.Thanks.

2021-09-20This place is great. The team was super patient with me as I was working through a warranty claim on a bike I didn’t even buy from them. They did great work and were very helpful. Support a great local bike shop!

2021-04-22First off, money doesn’t grow on trees. That said, I wanted to get my Trek bike back in shape for spring after beating it up all winter on the salty Cleveland roads. I struggled to make heads or tails of what all needed to get done. I stopped in for an inner tube and the owner took fantastic care of me. He identified what needed to be fixed and he knew how to fix it. He had the parts in stock and within an afternoon had me in much better shape than I came in originally. Cheers to these hard working people

2020-06-17Due to our current situation there are limited people allowed in the shop which can be frustrating but its for the good of everyone. They have an excellent inventory and all employees are very friendly. Small businesses need our support more than ever now so if Im in a hurry I just go back again. The $7.00 tire tool they recommended truly amazed me. If nothing else go in and grab one of them along with anything else you may need.

2020-02-02I broke a mountain bike frame on a bike that was purchased elsewhere. I contacted Broadway Cyclery (authorized representative of co.)where Mike made tremendous efforts to get a warrantied replacement frame. The crew at Broadway Cyclery were professional, knowledgeable and communicative. Much appreciation to him and his staff. I look forward to supporting this shop with future needs/purchases.

2020-02-26Ive been in twice the last week. The first time to drop off a bike for a tune up. Mike gave me an overview of what was needed, how much it would cost, and how long it would take. Price and time was reasonable and it got finished quicker than he anticipated. I liked that he didnt try to upsell me on stuff that wasnt needed.Today, I was in to pick up the bike and buy a new bike. Mike was no-pressure and spent the time with me to explain the features of the bike, adjusted it for me for a test ride, and gave me all the time I needed to make a decision. Again, he made sure I was getting what I needed without any pressure our unnecessary upselling. This is a fantastic shop.

2014-08-07This place is awesome. I brought my neglected bike in for a tune-up and the owner fixed it up so it rides better now than when I first purchased it. They have an array of funky and classic cycling clothes and accessories. The husband and wife co-owners are down to earth, easy to work with, and knowledgeable in all things cycling. The shop is easy to get to with ample parking. Highly recommend.
