Drinks were great! Food... Not so muchOrdered the Philly cheese steak and the meat, onions, peppers were excellent. The fact it was on a small hot dog bun and the cheese tasted like potato soup wasnt so awesome... The meal cost quite a bit for how little you actually get. We also ordered a pig out burger and it was awesome! Just that cheese sauce was so off-putting.... Make sure you try it before you get it! Comes with the pretzel as well.
The food was awesome. Dave the cook is Amazing and the coleslaw is out of this world! Their beers are of a very good variety and very affordable. The service is great, food tastes delicious and furthermore,Parking is very accessible. Not often are the one available with the other around here. Give them a shot and I assure you...You Will Not Regret it!
My grandmother and I were looking for a place on Sunday that serves liquor for bloody Marys and a light lunch or the closest thing to brunch that we could find in an appropriately barren uptown Amherst this past Sunday. Our server was Haley. She has a Smile that could part the Oceans~ I had a Bloody Maria with Patron & it was solid. Then I had an imperial pilsner made by Brew kettle with a Belgian pretzel. I highly recommend the pretzel as an appetizer and the beer was right on the money.I recently stopped eating meat after 39 years of being a carnivore. I was enticed by the pulled pork options, but was able to convince my body that a ~Greek salad with grilled portobello~ would make me feel better.I was CORRECT!Delicious AND Comfortable!NO indigestion AT ALL!SUCCESS! HOORAY!! YES!!!The Brew Kettle succeeds in providing great food, drink, and service~ However, it suffers from many of the same pitfalls as other establishments, especially during lulls in business which coincide with sports. The first thing that I feel is important to realize: If there are no sports being shown, the Brew Kettle has virtually NO crowd which in the restaurant business usually translates to there being very little Personality. There are too many TVs showing too many different channels. Theres some generic radio station playing soulless music. Apart from the food and beer, the Brew Kettle leaves you very little reason to ever come back. Encourage the intelligent & clean employee to step up and give the place life. Spotify can be a powerful tool for the saavy RestaurantManager~
I had been here several times in the past and was never really impressed with the drinks or food. I went a couple weeks ago and everything was delicious. The food the drinks and service were all very good. I went back one week later because it was so good and everything was again delicious. I am excited to have another local place to go and enjoy good food and spirits.
I love coming to the Brew Kettle because of the amazing staff. Even though they are shortstaffed, the servers and bartenders are always happy and wonderful. They make me come back often, but I am disappointed in the owner. The draft beer lines are down and have been multiple times. This is costing the staff money and the owner or higher ups wont do anything about it. There are many other issues that need to be fixed by the owner. He must not care about his staff or restaurant if he lets this stuff go on for this long. This place is going to go belly Up IF they dont fix these issues FAST.
Attempted to place order and was basically told they were out of everything but hamburgers and chicken. We ordered a salad and chicken sandwich. Took 45 minutes just to get it. Have been there in the past but it was never this slow. Avoiding for the foreseeable future
This place was really good. We went therewith a couple of friends. The food was really good but after seeing what my friend ordered I was kicking myself that I didnt order what he did. Next time I go I will try their dry rub wings, and a cup of gumbo.Good friends, good food, and good service. You should try to go sometime they had a really decent sized menu a lot to choose from.
Great beer selection, tasty food. They have nice outdoor seating and theyre doing a good job enforcing social distancing. I only took a star off because our server disappeared for much too long, spent half the meal with nothing to drink, and I had to hunt her down just to pay my bill and get going.
Waited 20 minutes to be seated....the waitress kept walking by saying just a minute. The 2 bartenders just kept looking at us along with 2 males who were back by the kitchen.. No one stepped in to help. I said if she just points us to the table I have no problem seating myself. She said she had to clean the table off. No problem......20 minutes later, we just left. I figured if service was that slow to even get a table, it wasnt going to be any better during dinner. There was a line of people behind us waiting for a table as well that ended up leaving also.
Just the most disappointing dinner meatloaf was dried out threw it away and the appetizer that came out with main course spinach artichoke dip was cold with welted celery nachos with pork was ok. Service was slow although waitresses was nice. Never will order food from here again just sucks for $70 third time my mistake to try again
My family and we’re traveling through Ohio and stopped at this restaurant as we heard the live music. Such a cute town to walk around! The food was good, the people were very friendly. We felt very welcomed and the live band was awesome. good restaurant with great vibes.
Very nice place, great staff, excellent selection of beer! Food is below average. They also charge 25 cents for a taste of draft beer. I had two flights and asked to sample two extra beers so I could decide which beer to take as a six pact to go. They charged me 50 cents. The waitress apologized and stated that it was their policy, which she did not agree with.
Amazing beer, amazing food and amazing service. Weve gone here a total of 3 times on our rare date nights because we love it so much. Its so fun to taste the beers theyve picked out for that month- or however that works. The customer service is always great and its not always busy all of the time. Love it!
Downtown Amherst had a lot of great places to eat but this is one of the best. I love my the beer sausage gumbo soup plus they have a lot of great food on the menu.Im not much for beer but if you love craft beer then this is the place for you. If not there still something for you.Great food, friendly staff, fun atmosphere. Thats what keeps me from and I coming back.
My experience has been with carryout only, so I cant comment on the dine-in atmosphere beyond saying that theres a huge bank of televisions on one wall constantly showing multiple sports events, so if that is or isnt your thing, be advised. The food is excellent, particularly the burger selections. Theyre a good size, well seasoned, and grilled with skill. The sides are interesting, with the sweet potato fries and horseradish coleslaw both bringing distinct flavours. Definitely give this place a try.
So I just had the pleasure of visiting the Brew Kettle. We didnt eat, but definitely drank! Justis was my server and did a fantastic job. She gave us great service, was a good sport when I put in my just give me what ever beer order she was very happy to help. The service was outstanding.
Really want this place to do well, in our awesome small town. The place is beautiful. The food now, not so much. Must have changed food purchasers. Used to get awesome fish and chips. Fillets were thick and good meat. Now its all oil soaked breading with a thin almost non existent meat.
Awesome menu for pub food and dinner. I recommend the lamb burger. They have multiple options for fried sides, including amazing fried green beans, sweet potato fries, and mac and cheese. They serve sides or coleslaw with all burgers and Its got a nice kick to it. Prices are very good for the quality and portions. Its become one of my new favorite places for pub food.
A good friend and I had lunch today for the first time, it was the most enjoyable experience! The building is fixed up so nicely, music at a good level and tvs not blaring. Our waitress Brittany was so fun! She was very helpful with our beer selections and knew the menu items very well. Our food and beer were great! Will be coming back again!!
The venue was nicely remodeled with a big patio. That is their foothold in Amherst - a patio. Beer selection is plentiful and diverse (although I chose a mango Smoothie IPA, and it smelled & tasted like soap, so I didnt finish it and that is rare for me). Food is bad and tastes like it was frozen and then they overcooked it, therefore it is overpriced. Owner and some of the staff demonstrated themselves to be meanspirited during conversation, showed no concern for their neighbors or customers, only about their own survival as a business. Visited during the start of the 10 pm alcohol sales cutoff due to COVID-19 which they will follow, unless they know you.
Poor service. My wife and I got there at 4:10 pm on 10-16-20 a Saturday and they were not crowded. We were seated right away. Then we waited and waited till I had to get up and ask the hostess if we could please get a server. Some of the servers just looked at us and walk the other way Very disappointed in this place no one even said sorry nothing the whole time they were not busy at all.may not come back and we do like to support our local business
I usually never have a bad meal but I have eaten here twice and both times have been disappointing. I recently purchased the new margarita chicken sandwich which was a chicken breast with cheese on a bun that was double the size. My wife ordered a salad and flatbread which she enjoyed but they never brought the salad. The beer is always good which is why we return each time but food is much to be desired...
Been going there since they opened. Good food, great beer. Went there tonight and sat for 30 minutes without a waitress. Table of 8 came in and the waitress went right over to them. [email protected]. I went to your feedback page, no reply from you
White Rajah IPA 6.8abv excellent, nice hop up front and back with a bit of bitter 16oz (a bit hazy, but a very worthy offering) , Jungle Rajah IPA (same as the white but a full hazy) ,- good parking across the street , good WiFi , outdoor seating , full bar and food menu , a good spread of beer styles guest taps , a while bunch of TVs ,
It looks nice inside. Our server was fantastic. I got the veggie burger. It was so good I cant wait to get it again. Its made in house. Also anywhere I can get fried green beans as a side has my vote. I sat in the front part, it was nice til they opened the side windows and I could hear the live music from the patio. It was way too loud.
The micro brews are great here and they will give you free samples, unlike the brew kettle in Strongsville. I used to always get the pork belly nachos, but the meat started to taste watery and had a lot of fat. However, if you show them, they will correct it. Love the setting, calm and relaxed.
Stopped in for dinner with a group of 6 and one child. The place was child friendly and very accommodating. Large selection of draft beer and decent menu. Group had the kettle burger, bison burger, Perch dinner, ribs, pizza, and steak. All was great. I think they might put horseradish in their coleslaw which was delicious. If back in this area of Ohio I would return.
Went there for my friends surprise birthday party. The place looks good, they have a good craft beer selection, but they ran out of the bourbon the guest of honor was drinking after 2 drinks and our server while nice would likely do better working with smaller groups. The food was good but Id like to see the menu change some as there are many items that are too similar to one another.
I was in town visiting and asked my sister to meet me somewhere in Amherst she suggested this place. She said their food wasn’t good, I didn’t eat so I can’t agree or disagree but they did have some incredible beers. It’s called Brew Kettle I mean that’s why you go there right? Brew. A few of the beers were some of the best I’ve ever tasted so when I asked the breweries I was glad to learn they were local but bummed since I now live on the west coast. This place is so much nicer then church st I’ll def come back here when I visit again.
Food was delicious and the beer was great. But the size of some of the dishes were a little small. Also the waitress should of gotten a table for us, instead of putting 7 people in a 6 topper booth. She made it sound like a big deal to move. Yes it was prime time, but we were willing to wait and told her that. It was becoming a hassel and we were hungry so we ate there.
Well very surprising today....one table in the bar...one person at the bar. We were there 10 minutes and no one approached us. Waiters/waitresses looking at us..no one waited on us. Left and took our business elsewhere. Usually they are very attentive...very disappointed today..they need to get it together!!
A nice place for families as well as a night out with the girls or guys. You can actually have a conversation with your party without having to shout. Food is excellent as well as the service. And the beer choices are a wonderful balance of something for everyone. Another nice feature is there is plenty of parking all around.
Clean, nice place to go and relax for a few drinks. Quiet, no crazies running around and really pretty bar! Bartenders are all great and knowledgeable of all the beers and wines. If the outdoor patio had TVs that were not 30 ft in the air and audio it would have 5 stars. Went to watch the game and you couldnt even see them because they are so far away and up almost in the ceiling in little windows. Doesnt really make much sense.
We visit brew kettle often. Food is good and our waitress was great. I would give our visit 5 stars, however, I was more than slightly disgusted that the bartender was putting a knife from a silverware wrap down his shirt to scratch his back during lunch service on the floor.
It wasn’t bad. But it wasn’t anything special or different. The other place down the street is about the same thing. I think Brew is trying to reach a slightly higher end crowd but it’s just splitting hairs. The food was average. Again not bad. But just the same. Portions were a bit small. Service was good.
Love the brew kettle in Amherst! The food is always hot and served fast with a friendly staff Everytime! I haven’t had a bad experience yet! The waitress we had this time was named Michelle and she was so friendly. They were rather busy when we arrived and I never went with an empty glass! This waitress deserves recognition! Great job brew kettle!
One of my favorite spots in Amherst! Beer is always great here. They have a lot of Beer kettle brews on tap & many guest beers of equal or greater caliber. The food is pretty good too, Ive yet to have anything I didnt like here, but hands-down the Chicken Parm Sandwich is my favorite. You cant go wrong!Sometimes the service can be iffy, especially if its not busy. I wouldnt let this stop you from enjoying a visit here though!
Go to place in Lorain county for great food in a casual atmosphere. Most places we visit we have a favorite and only order that item. Here we safety order a variety of items off of the menu without ever being disappointed. Easily the best vegetarian burger you can find within a one day driving distance.
Worst food and service that I have ever experienced eating in a restaurant. Everything was coated in the worst bbq sauce I have ever had. Spaghetti in bbq sauce?? What? 2 out of the 6 of us had a fair meal. It took the waitress 1/2 an hour to bring the checks from the time we asked for it. Then eveyones bill was wrong. That was another 10 minutes wasted. She was pretty non attentive. All in all it was awful an dining experience. I give it minus 5 stars!!!
Nice little brewpub. I ordered the meat&cheese platter, and the cheese could have been sliced smaller and thinner. I also ordered the sausage and pierogi dinner, which was great. My server made a weird remark to me when i ordered my third long island, that they were $7 each, ya know and it made me feel weird for going out and celevrating with my friends. Maybe Ill choose elsewhere to go have a few drinks nexttime Im in Amherst.
This place has the best craft beer in Amherst. Their selection is amazing and also a great value(Brew kettle brand is usually the cheapest in price but not in quality). Service is great but the food sometimes takes a while and its good just not amazing(their perogies and chorizo burger are an awesome exception though).
Amazing food, humongous beer selection, usually pretty great service... my favorite part is you get a paper that has over 30 different options of beer on tap that you can get little 5 oz. samples of, as many as you like (for between $1.25 - $2.50 ea.) And then you get the paper back with your selections so you know which is which.
Our family and close friends have been to the Brew Kettle on four occasions. The food has been impressive and the beer selection of equal quality.Service has been very good with the exception of our last visit. My husband enjoys one particular mixed drink and has not received that special taste each time out. Perhaps using an identical top shelf recipe for any and every mixed drink will cure the problem. The server Saturday night seemed reluctant to correct the issue. In addition, have a uniform policy that the servers follow. Customers expect and appreciate the courtesy.
I visited about 2 weeks ago. the service was terrible sure i was with a large group but it was like the waiter had a vendetta against me. i ordered a water with my beer never got my water had to remind him the water wound up ant the other end of the table. he did not put my order in. so i didnt end up getting my food until the whole group had finished. when i flagged to the waiter down to see were my food was i ordered another beer and i never received my beer. never once was my water glass refilled. I didnt catch the waiters name but he was absolutely horrible. the food was fantastic once a was able to eat the beer was wonderful.
Ok first...the restaurant is nice and cleaning looking. Services was ok. Soo, the food....OMGGGGG, I left with the the worst stomach ache ever. I ordered the steak dinner and it came with potatoes and one giant piece of broccoli for 20$. The potatoes I got were absolutely disgusting, the.... what seemed to the manager was walking around and asked how our food was. I told him about the potatoes. He came back and said.... ..yea, those arent good...then gave me the reason why...which I wish he didnt say....anyways...they took nothing off the bill was kinda upset about that but whatever. I wont recommend this place to anybody. Sorry brew kettle your food sucked that night
Wonderful place. I tried a few sampler sized beers, and got the pulled pork sandwich with the fried green beans. The fried green beans were amazing! I wasnt entirely sure, but I was curious. Im glad I tried them. The pulled pork was great, too. My server was friendly, and genuinely seemed to care about what I had to say and how I thought everything was. The food was great, but my server was 12/10! Ill definitely be coming back to the Brew Kettle.
Went there for Browns party. 92.3 The Fan was there for the Browns Monday night game. When I asked if they had any food or beer specials they said no. Whats the point of coming there and hanging out if I got to pay full prices for the beer and food, when I can go to another place and get beer and food specials during the game.
Ordered to go for lunch and everything on the menu looked really good but was disappointed after I got it. Nothing special kinda plain. I thought maybe its just what I had ordered so I gave it another try again in a different day and got something else. Ehh still not impressed. Havent ordered again since. Maybe it would be different experiance if I dined in? I dont know.
Went in and was seated by a hostess, only to sit for over 25 minutes, before deciding to leave. We then walked in to Ziggys, which was packed and sat at a table, a waitress came to our table in less than 5 minutes. Brewkettle wasnt even busy and the waitress in our area had finished up with the table next to use, but never stopped to even take our drink orders. Its a shame because I enjoy brewkettles selection, BUT will not be going back there.
We found this brewery on our way home from Chicago. It is close to the Ohio turnpike. The staff was very friendly and our food was awesome! My husband had the triple pig w/ coleslaw and mac n cheese; he absolutely loved it! He could only eat 1/2 his sandwich because there was sooooo much meat! I had the not cho platter w/ smoked chicken. I buy nachos everywhere we visit and these might be the best Ive ever had. The homemade corn salsa and smoked chicken gave it a great flavor! Our waitress, Malisa was great! She was very knowledgeable about the beers and food, she also gave us suggestions on local places to stay. Amherst is a very cool small town; definitely worth stopping by and checking it out!
Messed up a large group order, was told I was on a credit list went in talked to the hostess who was rude and had no clue what was going on followed up by the day manager who also knew nothing. They were confused because they had been at work late and the bartender called off today. Which has zerp to do with me. Working in customer service this was very upsetting.

2022-04-08The saving grace for the place was the actual building, which is AMAZING. Props to the designer and the apps - Sweet potato fries and Buffalo Chicken Dip. Other than that - no thank you.The waitress appeared stressed and we tried to let her know we were chill and just looking to hang out and have a good dinner - no go for her. I ordered the plain burger and added cheese, medium well, side of mac & cheese and it came with a small cup of coleslaw. The burger was dry. No ketchup or mustard and nothing was offered. The mac & cheese was dry and gritty. The coleslaw bitter. The husband ordered a Philly cheese steak and fries. Half the bun was empty with that same gritty cheese. The coleslaw...bitter. Our friends ordered chicken fingers and fries - and their fish fry for lent. Needless to say the only one to actually finish and somewhat enjoy their meal... the fish fry!Lets not forget the blatant racism from the table across from us but the cute little up charge on the sweet potato fries from the Honey Butter that they advertise comes with them.

2022-03-22Large place and decent selection of food. My favorite are the sweet potato fries with the special butter. Their selection of beer is large but other than that they either have none or maybe one hard cider. The food sometimes is hit or miss. Staff is wonderful. Feels clean. Just need to step it up on variety of tap drinks other than beer and food choices need an upgrade.

2020-11-04Had the Hot BBQ wings as an appetizer and was overwhelmed with how LARGE and meaty they were. Our meals were just as HUGE and loaded with flavor. Also enjoyed a full bodied Milk Stout known as Kitka-- very delicious. Just a really good spot to hang, eat, watch some sports, and sip on some bevvies. Highly Recommended!!

2022-01-14Get the chickpea salad it was excellent. Only thing I would say feta cheese would make it better since it is Mediterranean and there is no meat on it... It was little on the cheap side but it tasted great.

2022-01-26Always enjoy our visits. This time I had the Angus burger medium rare. (nailed)My wife had the portobello mushroom sandwich. Mushroom was overcooked and a little rubbery.Deep-fried green beans are our favorite side.

2022-03-19The place has a nice atmosphere, kinda rustic. The food was fine, not a fan of their type of beers, but did find something comparable to what I drink.

2020-08-24Quick friendly service. I had the Mac and Cheese with broccoli and my sister had the BBQ spaghetti. Both were so delicious we didnt have leftovers to take home. Definitely a new favorite!

2022-04-04Beautiful interior! The fish & chips were YUMMY. I appreciate that most of the TVs are at the bar with a few throughout the restaurant & the volume was perfect.
