The Barrel House in other cities:
First impression... A great place to unwind and have a beer. Wide selection of beer with local distributors. No food, but can bring food in to eat while drinking your beer. A must stop for the business traveler that loves beer. Walkable distance when staying downtown.
Dayton loves beer. My wife and I finally made it down for a Wu-Tang Wednesday and we are super excited. The beer selection is excellent, and the build your own six packs of cans and bottles is a blast. The couch seating is comfortable and makes it have that home living room feel. Its not a stuffy uppity atmosphere at all. Love it.
The Barrel House has an awesome atmosphere and unbelievable beer selection including local breweries. They were doing an all day ALS fundraiser and awareness day the day we were there. It was packed, everyone having a blast and all for a great cause! So cool! Weve been here before and will be back again.
I cannot speak highly enough for this shop. So helpful. I truly feel like a VIP every time I walk in the door. They answer any question with an obvious love and energy for their passion of local brews. And the selection.... like Jungle Jim’s but without the hassle or drive. Truly a wonderful stop for the Beer Enthusiast 😍😍😍
An amazing atmosphere with a plethora of great beer selections. The staff is always amazing. Their music is great as well. Great overall vibes and patrons. Great place if youre looking for a great place downtown to go by yourself or with some friends. They have wutang Wednesdays every Wednesday and open mike on every Thursday. I definitely would recommend checking this gem in downtown out.
Awesome bottle shop located right in the heart of Dayton, we stopped by to grab a few local brews and were blown away by the extensive list of beers all around. The staff was super helpful, and personally offered recomendations that were by far the best beer in the batch. We even tasted a sample from their taps, hands down one of the best bottle shops Ive been to, cannot wait to go back.
LOVE THE BARREL HOUSE! Our first visit to The Barrel House after hearing it was great. Exceeded expectations, it is fantastic. Very cool vibe with a laid back atmosphere. Some great tunes playing and plenty of space to sit back and relax. The staff is extremely informed on all different kinds of beers, and helpful. Incredible selection as well on the walls, fun to look at all the different variants of brews. Put this on your list of places to stop and have a cold one. We will certainly put it high on our list, and be back!
10/5 stars if possible! The Barrel House is a cute little city bar. Tucked away right on 3rd street, they have many beers on tap and have created such a nice little hangout in Dayton. They have a nice size patio and always have some good music playing. The Barrel House has been a hub for locals since they opened 2 years ago. You’ll never not meet a kind soul gathered here. The owners are Dayton af! Sarcastic and funny with the best outlook on life and community. Will recommend this place over and over and over again! ❤️
I recently purchased a mix pack from their huge selection of singles. Sara was really helpful with picking out sours. I work in the beverage industry and I wanted to try a few things I couldnt find in my hometown of columbus, as well as some standbys. She knocked it out of the park.Unfortunately when I was checking out I had a payment issue and she held the items for me. When I retuned I was met at the door by Scott who was courteous and quickly retrieved my purchases. Thanks Dude! The entire staff was helpful, gracious, and masked. They also offer curbside pickup! All in all a great experience, even given my payment embarasment which was taken in stride. 12/10 would buy again.
Sara and Gus are great people doing an amazing job. Great selection of beers both on tap and available to buy in cans or bottles. They also have wine available for those not interested in beer. Lots of food trucks to try throughout the week as well. Its a must stop in the Dayton area.
This is a great upstart. I found the prices to be very competitive even better than some of the bars in the Oregon district. Its worth the walk a few blocks over from the Oregon district, come here and find better crowd then you would find in the Oregon district. Anyy time of day or the week. The only detractor or maybe a positive and some peoples book the place is a little smaller. You cant take a crowd with you but it is nice to have a small with more private setting. I would call this another positive for a great local drinking hole.
Barrel House elevates my craft beer tasting to the next level! Wonderful atmosphere, exquisite selection, and great service. The quick chiller for getting carry out cand and bottles cold is a great service. This is my new favorite place to hang out after a long day or while waiting for the night life to heat up!
Fun place to hang out with family, friends and new acquaintances. Wednesdays are the best night, the DJ was very, very good, mixing up the past with the new and the place was jumping. Friendly patrons brought in 6 pizzas from a local place and offered them up to everyone. Plenty cool! The beverages of choice were bountiful and served quickly.
Selection of 17 diverse beers on tap (unless its during or a few days after an event) and even more diverse selection to purchase for carry out or even open in store, with an available quick chiller. Fun, knowledgeable, and friendly staff. Sundays donuts and vinyl is a definite favorite.
This place blew my mind.I was trapped in Dayton waiting out a midwest snowstorm and didn’t know what to do with myself. I found this place while searching for a beer bar, and wow was I ever impressed.Terrific and versatile tap list, excellently curated music being played on vinyl, comfortable seating and a bottle shop offering that included some rarer bottles I was quite surprised to find.Absolutely recommend supporting these folks; just a terrific place to post up and spend some time.
The Barrel House is my favorite bar. Rotating craft beer on draft (many locally brewed) with plenty more available for retail sale. The owner and employees are engaged, knowledgeable and fun. The hand painted artwork and wood decor make for a warm coffee-shop feel. No shrieking televisions. The music is varied depending on the day, but excellent and chosen deliberately. The place is immaculately clean and the clientele is well behaved. A+ Check this place out if youre local or are visiting from out of town.
The best place in Dayton to relax like its your home away from home. Its nice and quiet in here most of the time. Its my favorite spot to work, read, draw, and talk with friends. Wednesday and Thursday are the only days I would recommend against conversation -- it gets pretty loud on those days in the evenings. The patio is great as well although the view leaves a little to be desired. The beer selection is always insane with some limited (and growing) cider, mead, and seltzer selections. There are ~6 different non-alcohol options as well.Takeout is available. If there is a bottle on the shelf youre interested in they have a quick chiller that takes ~5 mins to chill the bottle.Check their Facebook for any special events and food trucks available. Their page is very active.Notable regular events:Wu-Tang Wednesday -- Old school rap from 6-closeThursday Open MicVinyl Vinyl Sunday -- Donuts, beer, and bring your vinyl to play on the house system.Funky Friday is on the First Friday of every month. Mike from Omega comes in and lights the place up!
The Barrel House is a cozy brewery with a coffee shop feel. I was completely charmed. On one side you have tables/chairs, on the other, you find sofas, overstuffed chairs and a wall of books to read. I would highly suggest visiting. You wont regret the wide beer selection, nor will you regret the atmosphere.
I cannot say enough good things about The Barrel House! Not only do they have an EPIC beer selection, but their staff are knowledgeable and friendly, totally happy to help you find the beer of your dreams. Additionally, as a business, they are so dedicated to the betterment of Dayton, and doing the right thing. Theyre truly a Gem City gem and were so much better to have them in our lives.
Firstly, I havent been in the barrel house since new ownership and management took over. Im very impressed with what is happening. Very urban neighborhood kind of feel... Small space (s) with alot happening under one guise. Very nice tap selection , Very thurough single bottle sale selection. Wine tasting going on at one side . Front live music happening among the couch pit. Order food from center tavern service and prepared from food truck out back then brought to you. Buy a wine bottle and theyll open it if you like. Mingle in the middle at the few tables and stools. All cool and unpretentious. Ill definitely be there More.
Different atmosphere from most bars in Oregon district. It feels like a coffee shop but sells beer and wine. Has comfortable couches and tables for groups. Great place for first dates. They have a wine chiller that can chill your speciality selection of not already cold super fast. Fast rotating beers and wine. Quiet vibe easy to talk and warm decor. Would recommend for any couple or group.
The service here rocks, genuinely friendly people that obviously love what they do and enjoy good beer. Lots of local selections from the Ohio micro brewery scene. I havent checked out their wines, but looks like as much care as beer inventory. I should make a point to hang out some night, since the seating looks to be a very comfortable and chill environment, more lounge-ish than bar for sure, seems naturally a social little place. Also, it is across the street from my new food obsession as of late, the Colombian food joint, Arepas Co., so I will probably just gravitate to that intersection of Wayne Ave. and 3rd Street. Stock up, get a growler, and keep coming back for beer. The price per oz is pretty darn good for quality beers when re-filling, and they always seem to fill it up a good bit over the 64oz mark, haha. Cheers, guys.
This is hands down the best bottle spot in dayton. If you love beer, you will want to stop here. The atmosphere is so cool and calm but you can always find a party if you want one. Sara and gus are incredibly knowledgeable and there is beer and wine for anyones tastes on earth. Once you shop here, youre family, especially if you like wu-tang and smoked meats. Get on the good side of the owners by bringing them gifts of skyline and whitecastle. Only together. No photos, please.
I stopped in right after opening....timing is everything! Sarah and Gus were ALL business getting ready for the day...4 reps came and went in 40 minutes. Matt served me and offered great recommendations and even tasters! When I go here, it is a GREAT experience....no comprise. Cheers BH!
Anyone leaving less than a 4* (imho, 5*) tells me EVERYTHING I need to know about that person — especially, when I see they rate Great Clips a 5* — ha!The Barrel House is ONE OF THE BEST SPOTS in the City. The beer is choice,The vibe drives it.The staff makes it,Get. Here.(Btw, order in food — they don’t care —there isn’t a kitchen)

2022-04-01Do you love good beer? Do you love good people? Do you love a welcoming environment with staff that genuinely care about their clientele and neighbors? Then The Barrel House is for you!Cheesiness aside, Barrel House is absolutely a must visit if you want chill vibes, a good drink, and an environment in which you feel valued as a person rather than simply as a paying customer. The excellent beer, wine, seltzer, canned cocktails, and even NA selection is unbeatable for the Miami Valley region. The bathrooms are clean and well appointed (theyre award winning mind you). The atmosphere is chill, cozy, and oh so welcoming. The weekly events are fun and worth checking out. But, its really the staff that sets this place apart.

2022-07-05Omg! This place is loaded with so many types of brews you cant choose! After testing a few, I finally settled on something the gentleman helping me suggested, it was very nice. We went outside and had our beverage on the patio, the atmosphere out there was friendly and engaging. I cant wait to go back!👍🏼
