This place is wonderful! It actually looks like a back yard! Volleyball court! Lots of lawn area. A patio with tables and chairs. A bar with lots of seating AND THE VERY BEST PART IS ONE SIDE OF THE BAR HAS SWINGS INSTEAD OF BAR STOOLS! So awesome! Very casual, low key. There is very good food! And, you can bring youre dog! Live music on weekends. Staff is very nice! A great place . Check them out!
After work drinks & apps with friends. Group of 8. Amanda was our server and she was great, but other staff came by to say hi and check on us. Looking forward to going. Ack. Not many patio days left, and their patio is really nice.
The servers are super friendly, outdoor area is amazing. This is one place I enjoy. Love the swings! I hear the food is good but cant speak on that. The restrooms are very clean. Great place! If you havent been there, I highly recommend! Reasonable prices as well.
The patio is awesome. Huge L shaped bar out there. Service was very quick and the staff was friendly. I didnt have any food on this visit so I cant comment on that. Additionally, they have cornhole boards and a sand volleyball court. If you are looking for someplace to enjoy a cold drink on a warm summer night this is a great place to check out.
Really fun place..we met friends and went to see Shadow of Doubt. Our server Carlos was alot of fun. The patio was dog friendly and I made new puppy friends! Really good food and appetizers! We definitely will be back!
The Grille specializes in just what it says. Nice size bar, outdoor patio for the warmer season, and kid friendly.
First time there. Francesca was a wonderful waitress who cares about her customers. Possibly the best mushroom/onion/Swiss burger Ive ever had. Will go back!
Had a great time. The staff and owner are top notch. Love the patio atmosphere. Met up with some good friends, had cocktails and food and enjoyed the evening. Very pleased, and will return.
Amanda our waitress was awesome and fun. We were very happy with our food. The specials are good. My two drinks were $11.50 because they charge extra for the pop. Kind of pricey I did not expect that.
No matter who owns this, I always get the same result... very slow service. The server was nice but took a long time get us drinks, place orders, and even get our bill. Even when receiving our bill, we got the wrong one and had to chase down the server to get our actual bill.Food menu was very small and limited. Really just a standard bar menu but a little overpriced for what it is.The only thing this building has to offer is a nice patio, thats it.
These are the same people that own The Local in Strongsville. Absolutely terrible customer service. My wife and I were in here a few days ago, and the owner could care less about our waiter completely vanishing on us. All he wanted to do was blame everyone else instead of apologizing and fixing the problem. Some things will never ever change.

This place is the best! The food was perfectly made (hummus was cold and sandwiches were warm- just as it should be!). The wait staff and bartenders were so fun and great to talk to. Jay, Shauni and Crystal were the best! With so much great food, great drinks and so many activities to do- this place is great for a date or even to come eat with kids! Love the Backyard- will be back soon!
The only bartenders that was good was stretched way too thin. The other little girls stunk! Too busy catering to the people they know despite cash on the bar. Went to support the band. Wont go back.
The bar outside was so nice. Ordered the nachos and they didn’t skip on the cheese! Amanda was a great bartender and had a wonderful personality even changed one of the TVs so we could watch a playoff basketball game and the Indians simultaneously.
Really nice, large outdoor patio, bar, volleyball, entertainment area. Watched a band without a cover charge. Already ate before we went so we didnt sample the food.
Our server was very helpful and accommodating. We had a nice variety of appetizers, half price on Mondays. Well done.

The food was delicious and our server was very sweet. She also was in charge of way too many tables, which left her to not give her best service to everyone no matter how nice she was. Wings were yummy and tossed in a delicious sauce! Burger was cooked great. My complaint isnt food or the friendliness of the staff. But the lack of guidelines being followed. Its one thing that Medina county is not being required for patrons to wear masks in public, but our server wore hers improperly, under her nose and eventually took it entirely off while talking to all her tables. The tables under the tent are not six feet apart and the bar is being allowed to be completely full, with no spaces between guests who did not arrive together. The young boy bringing out food was also not wearing a mask or wore it improperly. And there was no one sanitizing tables and chairs between guests. I saw one bartender wearing her mask, but the bar was also not sanitized between guests, nor were the swings. I work in a restaurant and we have one person on staff per every dinner shift who is purely there for sanitization. We visited this restaurant often before lock down and would continue too, if we felt more safe as customers during this time.
First time at The Backyard and Amanda provided us with beyond exceptional service! The loaded nachos were a great shareable and the outside bar was super spacious. A great local option where we will absolutely return in the future!
This place is so fun! I can’t believe we haven’t stopped up here sooner! Jay the manager is great and the bartenders are friendly and give wonderful service! Highly recommend coming up here!!
Service was fair. Menu is limited. Ordered some wings to be extra crispy. They ended up coming out rubbery and just barely done not very appetizing. Did like the pretzel with cheese dip appetizer and the french fries are batter dipped which kept their crisp even after sitting on the table for a while as we ate them.
Don’t order a bucket of beer unless you want warm beer. Service was not good. Food was average. Bartenders basically ignore people the whole time. Would rate zero stars if I could. Will never return.
Well I had no idea this place had new ownership because it’s been a couple of years since I was there last. Anyhow right off the bat I noticed how much cleaner it was and the decor is beautiful. The place was quite busy because it was a Friday night. The menu however is very limited which was my only chief complaint. Our server whose name was Savannah was extremely pleasant and kept apologizing for how long our food was taking. She is a winner when it comes to being a great customer service spokesperson for this restaurant. Always had a smile on her face. The reason I stress this is because to many times I have frequented different restaurants and the servers fall short of knowing their true position within a restaurant. Anyhow I only ordered a burger and fries. It was very good. I truly hope they come up with a larger menu because we intend on going back again. Thumbs up to the new owners. The place looks great.
This place had so much promise walking in.patio looked the place looked cool either way.Boy was I wrongtook us 10 minutes to get someone to come over to get us a drink and we immediately ordered food at the same sitting. The place was not busy whatsoever.it took us an hour to get our food not to mention they forgot wings for one of the members in our party.Which they said would be right out.20 more minutes goes by the wings are still not out we asked what took so long they had no explanation.Terrible customer service whatsoever barely an apology for the issue.Management was there and did not even acknowledge what went on after we said we did not want the food anymore they still brought them out and the flavor was not correct.Very disappointing experience all around.Will not be going back
This place is a new found jewel for my wife and I that is close by and has an extremely attentive and friendly staff. The new owner Kelly is a hands on type owner who pays close attention to what is going on with the guests and the service they are receiving. We have bought friends there also who have asked how did we find this place? ( I just stopped in one day to check it out) And they have also enjoyed the food, service and the reasonable prices. We really enjoy the huge outside bar and outside seating. The inside area is also very well done. And you have to try the cauliflower pizza crust it is unique and delightfully flavorful. Keep up the great work!

Love the welcoming atmosphere. The volleyball court, the swings, and the huge patio make it truly unique. My drink of choice—blueberry-lemonade vodka was fresh and tasty. Amanda is a great bartender!

Patio is huge, full volleyball court with games active. Very cool venue. Fireplace (though no fire given the season). Burgers were OK (Beyond and Turkey) onion rings undercooked and soggy. Drinks were really weak. Service was terrible. Very slow. Knew nothing about the bar drinks. Only thing she did quickly was take our money. All in all, we wont be back.
The backyard is my new favorite bar in Brunswick. The service is great especially my favorite bartender Amanda she’s always making sure my company and I don’t need anything and if we do she’s right on it and always with a smile on her face. Looking forward to being back very soon.

This place is AWESOME!!! Great service, and the backyard burger was killer, the grilled onions and all the cheese and flavor of the meat...yes I will be back!!!The wait staff was super polite and the drinks were cold and plentyful!
This place is amazing... but Amanda makes it amzinger! Yo! They have swings! You can eat dinner in a back and forth motion... I really can’t stress enough how much I love our Amanda. She is mine now but I will share her but you have to tip her very well. She’s worth it!
Amanda was my bartender and she was amazing and the food was perfect. She got me a new drink when I tiny bug flew into mine. 15 stars out of five I want amanda to be in my family ibm thinking about hoooking her up with my brother in law so she doesnt file bcc a restraining order for stalking her. But until then Ill just come visit every Saturday until shes my family or the police come take me away haha!
I dont happen to be much of a beef or fried food eater. I absolutely love the Grilled Chicken Sandwich plate. It is scrumptious. Our waitress, Brittany, is wonderful. She is timely and engaging with an excellent disposition.
New owners now. And they are asking bar maids and waitresses to share tips. I was there recently and left a big tip for my waitress bc she always takes good care of us, not knowing this at the time I left it. I think thats awful. Theother people should not benefit from her hard work and attention to her tables and customers. I wont ever do that again. And it deters me from returning.
I absolutely love the backyard!!! I’ve come in the winter and summer and Krystal has been hands down the best bartender and server I’ve had. She memorizes drinks and orders. To be honest she is the reason I keep coming back!
We had a large group and when we arrived the patio was closed due to rain earlier in the evening. We were thinking of trying another place but Mike opened up the patio for us and even acted as our DJ. We ended up eating and drinking and stayed all night and had a blast. Mike and his staff went above and beyond to take care of us.The inside of the bar is nice and clean but small. The patio is one of the nicest Ive seen. It has a large fireplace, lots of tables and even swings at the bar as well as volleyball courts. I ll be going back there again for sure.
Its been awhile since weve been here for food. They have an awesome outside bar patio in the summer with wooden swings on the one side, but the food was never the greatest. I think theres a new owner or something, theres a new menu and the food was actually good.

Used to be a regular customer with the old owners, went there with my family. My dad got uncooked wings after 15 minutes, the bar waitress Krystal was doing all the bar work with all the other girls drinking their energy drinks talking playing on their phones so I gave Krystal a big tip only to find out she has to share it with her lazy coworkers very unpleased wont ever be back I would rate 0 stars if I could.

As tourest we stopped around two in the afternoon. Bar and grill had 5 people dining an two guys at the bar. We sat at the bar after trying a table. The male bar tender didnt come to work. He spent all his free time reminiscing with them. He decided we werent going away. Took our order and left. The cook had to walk past him to deliver our meal. Great food. We gave the tip to the cook.
Me and a friend checked out the grille last night after not being there for over a year. Our waitress was friendly and helpful and when we asked foran old menu item, she asked the cook to make it for us. The veggie pizza was delicious! They had Christmas music playing which was nice :)
This may be the most underrated place in Medina County. They have an enthusiastic staff, good drinks, pretty good pizza, great wings, and a great set of screens inside to watch The Game. And did I mention the swing seats on the outdoor bar? Their patio is huge and comfortable. And if youre into it, they even have sand volleyball courts. Come and have a great time! Would not go to this place worst service I ever had. Bartender mixed drinks that are watered down waitress brings drinks that we didnt even order my wifes friend ordered a dirty martini and it came as a spicy hot martini. The next drink she got was watered down. After 45 minutes appetizers came out. hard to get the waitress to take our food order. My wifes dinner came out the broccoli was grilled hard as a rock. The dinners came out one at a time 15 minutes between each one my friend didnt even get his dinner the manager said he was just sorry no other excuse for everything and yes they were NOT busy at all when they billed us for the drinks they bill you separately for the alcohol $5 for top shelf alcohol and $3 for the mix. The menu you see online is nothing what they have in the restaurant. Stay away from this place you have been warned.
Great staff, very attentive on the patio. Atmosphere could use a boost, not very lively for a Browns game. Would reccomend specials or somthing to draw in more customers. Has the potential to be a wonderful place. Will come back again, I wish the owner the best of luck!
Really great atmosphere in the summer out on the patio. Absolutely love the pizza! The service is very slow, so dont plan on anything happening too fast. Set back and enjoy the music drink a few cocktails and enjoy.
The food is great. Best pizza around for sure. Nice outdoor patio in the summer get drunk and play some beach volleyball. Always has a dj and great people working for them. Get the Grille pizza. Thats all i must sayWell none of this is the same food is decent now but nowhere near as good as previous owners sold a few times over Im pretty sure
Birthday party.. bar was ok, plenty of 📺 to watch sports. We loved the back padio, swing chairs at the bar, volleyball and cornhole.

This is my second time here, food is excellent, prices are good as well. Had the wings (good size with extra sause) and Pizza (on special and tasted great) Second time dealing with Ashley and she is the best!! Keeps up on our needs and is sociable. Will continue to come here for service alone!!
I went there with a few friends for a bite to eat and drinks and everything we had was delicious!!! Big portions for a super reasonable price! Props to the cook! Plenty of TVs to watch any game, very clean, service was perfect and an amazing staff! Ill be bank for sure!!
Food & drinks were good. Came up on a Friday and it was Chaos outside on the patio after 8. Took over 20 minutes standing at the bar just the pay my bill. Need to get organized ppl. Still a good time.
Well the ONLY reason this place is getting 3 stars is because our food was perfect. Id tell you the name of our server but she never told us. She took our drink order and literally in the middle of me talking she walked away to grab napkins... Ok? We needed them but not right that second. Then she comes back to take our order and after 5 of the 6 of us ordered she walked away and I had to tell her she forgot someones order. She started bringing our food out and we asked whatever happened to our 2 appetizers? We were seated close enough to the food window that i was able to hear the people in the back asking where the Greek nachos were supposed to go and I wanted to yell out that they were ours but our waitress was MIA.... Well everyone except me got the entrees and the only thing the waitress said was oh let me go check but instead of checking she went behind the bar to talk to other people. There was young kid who filled oir drinks and got us silverware because again our waitress was MIA. I did get to eat the appetizers that were finally brought to us and they were excellent! The salmon dip was perfect. The Gyro nachos were so good. A friend of mine had the cajun pasta and I got to taste that and it was spicy but probably the best pasta dish Ive eaten in years. Another friend got the chef steak. He asked for medium rare on the steak and it was exactly how he ordered. We will be going back but not because of the service... The food is bringing us back for sure. Management should consider training the wait staff or something... The waitress can make or break your food experience.
We went for the first time in a long time to try out the new owners. This is not the old Grille. Our experience was a hundred times better then it had been in the past many years. We highly recommend the Greek nachos and the wings. I will be back for sure.
This place is under new ownership and it shows. The new owners have made it family friendly. We went on a friday evening. The atmosphere was nice and casual. The food was great. We ordered a burger and fries, a barbecued pork sandwich, a polish boy and I had the cajun chicken pasta. My family said their dinners were delicious. Will definately go back.
Pretty happy with the changes that have been made to the restaurant, the interior has been changed and is cleaner and more modern.The pavilion outside has been shored up, so there is less chance of it falling down, the tent has been relocated to a more sensible location as well.The burger was really good, I would encourage the ownership to use fresh beef.I will say that as they are cutting their teeth, the service can be unusual (thats polite for unorganized).We have had groups of people that have put orders in together and food items trickle out. I would say its due to the kitchen being so small (that will always be the case, but for me that doesnt keep me from going), however we have had times where people put food orders in AFTER others, yet got their stuff first.We love Jeehan, she is an absolute sweetheart and I trust when she explains that they are still putting policies in place.Give it a try, food is good, people are great.

This is a very good place for people who only listen to rap music. I went there, the bar maid said they play all kinds of music. I found that to not be true. I was there for about 3 hours and only heard rap the whole time. They would definitely get more business if they had a variety of music. Not a great experience at all
Went for kids night Wednesday, my grand daughter loved the balloon lady! Nice that they keep rhe kids in mind. The waitress made an awesome strawberry shake, so friendly!whole staff awesome

My wife and I have been coming here all of 2019 and it is excellent! The food is hot, fresh, and flavorful and the prices are very reasonable. Patio and outdoor bar behind the restaurant. A hidden gem run by a very hard working owner and staff.
I left 2 reviews on Facebook and now they have both been removed. And now you can’t even leave a review on the Facebook page. Interesting. Long story short, we waited almost 2 hours for pizza and the place wasn’t even busy. No apology, no admitted fault. Just excuses. Pizza was terrible and brought in a to go box. We asked multiple times where it was and no real answer was given. Then we asked to order some fries or anything while we wait and they told us no because the kitchen was closed. I can’t make this up. Will never go again. Way over priced and terrible experience.

Highly disappointed with their grand reopening. Items on menu werent available. Ribs were still marinating, therefore not ready to be served. Ordered cajun shrimp with mashed potatoes, and broccoli for $15. Received 7 smaller sized shrimp with rice and broccoli. Looked more like an appetizer than a dinner, and did not seem price proportionate. They did remove the meal from my bill and I returned it rather than consuming so I cant speak of the quality, however my wife enjoyed her chicken wrap. Management also provided 1 free draft for my displeasure. Unprepared for reopening, and disorganized, however, friendly and accomodating.

We took my sister and her bf who had come in from Columbus to hear rockin rick a couple weeks ago who is awesome btw. We were hungry and quickly ordered burger meals all of which came out wrong. Two of us decided to keep ours anyway and our server took two of the guest’s orders back. My sister starts eating the burger only to find she was chewing on paper? She pulled out a paper covering the cheese and continued to eat not wanting to fuss and found the other wax paper on the other side of the cheese. We told the owner/server who did nothing-no offer to replace or to take off our bill!! Needless to say she lost good customers as we will never return with such poor service.
The service wasnt horrible! Then they switched servers during our meal. Justin was fantastic! I ordered a salad and l reveived wilted lettuce that was wet and moldy. Our drinks had bugs in them! I probably wont be back!

The food was excellent, however it took a long time to be brought to the table. We had to adj the waitress to bring us the food under the warmer for 15min.
Terrible service. Been there twice in the past month. Got completely ignored by the bartenders both times.. watched them take shots multiple times while people stood around waiting for service.

I wish I could a leave a negative star review. Place has like 3 acres of patio space and refuses to let dogs in. Service sucks too. Went on a Sunday afternoon in the summer and there was all of 5 people there. I can see why it changes ownership every few years. Avoid this dump.

Service poor. Food was cold sent back. They heated in microwave. Came back still cold. Also got French onion soup.....cold. waitress even said yeah I thought it was. ? Y would serve it then? Took forever to get a drink and it came musty smelling and sticky? Needless to say we left oh and this was at 730 at night not late or busy.

Brittany rocks!!! She’s been great taking care of our gigantic group of kids and adults (we act like kids too 🤪) every Sunday when we come out here for volleyball and dinner.
Was at this place on the 11th of August and saw a young man come out of the kitchen in “flip - flop”. I asked to speak the the manager and for my check, it was at this point I was harassed and confronted by a man saying he was the manger. This person refused to provide my check and held there until the Brunswick police arrived.Upon the arrive of the police a it was deemed I was free to leave the premises as I had done nothing wrong. I usually do not hold resentment to people but if this place was to fail again as a business I would be very amused. Karma comes full circle eventuallyUnder new management lol
This was the worst service Ive probably ever had in my life. We didnt get served for 45 minutes after we got there. They forgot to put my order in. Only to realize it and bring me my food after every one in our party was done eating. Only 1 person of all of the managers and staff seemed to care at all about our happiness and service. I would not recommend this place to anyone, at any time. EVER.

Hamburger bun hard as a rock. Wings were good but I ordered cajun, no flavor. Staff very nice.
Small portions, even smaller portions of meat. Tired of paying ten bucks for mediocre sandwiches. Seems like the place is trying to find an identity. Not full fledged sports bar, nothing remarkable about the food, not near capacity for a Friday night.

Good atmospher, but horrible service.I ordered the mac and cheese skillet and about 15 min later was informed they were out of mac and cheese. I decided it was a sign from god that wasnt hungry so enjoyed my beer.Someone in our party ordered mushroom and ham on her pizza and after she ate it they told her they dont have ham.I decided to switch it up to a Moscow Mule and was told 2 times that it was being made. 30 min later it shows up, she tells me the ticket blew away...Came in town from Denver and I am not impressed.Forgot to mention another guy in our group ordered a Summer Shandy and it took over 30 min to get it...

Stopped in for food after work and everything was on par. had the po-boy and the wings as a starter (both great). staff was accommodating and friendly -- will be back. highly recommend.
I will never go back to this place again. We were a table of 5 and it took 45 minutes to get a beer. Then we all did not even get silverware and asked the server and it never came. The place was not even busy. We ended up having to walk up to the bar to get our drinks. Food came out and it was cold. Worst Service Ever.

I would say order beer only. Three of my friends had mixed drinks that tasted bad and one seemed to have no alcohol in it. Nice patio however.

2022-06-04I love this place. We go there every time we go to Laurel Square Cruise-In on Saturdays. The cruise-in is in the shopping center parking lot just to the north of The Backyard. The Backyard has great service. The gals at the bar are just the nicest ladies. Food is delicious. I had the gyro and it was to die for. Wish they sold that stuff by the pound! Drinks are generous and tasty. Love the huge outside deck. You will not be disappointed if you go here. Funny little thing is the outside bar has swings as seats on one side! Pretty cool.

Had the burger & chicken sandwiches they were good, so were the fries.The parking lot looks like somebody drank a fifth of Jack Daniels when they designed it but other than that great place to stop.

2021-08-09I recently co-hosted a gathering of approximately 60 people on the patio at the Backyard. They were so great to work with. We had a server assigned to us (thank you Tawny) and the bartenders were very attentive. The food was great and served very quickly. DJ Dana kept us all entertained and helped keep our party going. Our group was very impressed. Definitely recommend this place to all groups, big and small!

2021-08-05My husband and I stopped in for the first time on a Saturday afternoon. The place was very busy, mainly the outside patio but everyone seemed to be having a fun time. We ordered a bunch of appetizers to try and a couple of main dishes. The food took a bit of time to come out probably due to how busy they were and it being the weekend but wow, the food was amazing and definitely worth the wait! I’m glad we tried a few menu items because everything was delicious. Great food and such a fun atmosphere. Will definitely be our new weekend spot!!
