The Arcade in other cities:
Great for photo opportunities (weddings, random photoshoots, prom, etc.). A Cleveland landmark and really beautiful. It is a little empty however the Hyatt is my favorite hotel downtown, grab a chocolate martinis at Chocolate bar or get your nails done at one of the salons to make it a full experience
The beauty in here just takes you back to a different time with the gold and brass details. It feels so incredibly open with the high ceilings and windows for the ceiling. There are minimum shops in here with more restaurants than anything but still a lot of empty space so this doesn’t have a lot of foot traffic so it can be peaceful. The top floors are hotel rooms so you do not have access to enjoy the building from a different vantage point but the building is still REALLY pretty.
Great night out/experience. Staying at the Arcade at least once is a must if you live in the Cleveland area or are just visiting. Beautiful setting with access to a large amount of dinning/night life options.Weve stayed in the main concourse are and in the towers. Rooms in the tower area were well furnished, good size and very comfortable. Concourse rooms were a bit smaller but have that traditional feel the Arcades vaulted glass ceiling brings with it.Staff was great, friendly and quick to help too.
It was absolutely beautiful! It felt like I was in the titanic! However, it was quite empty for business and public restrooms were closed due to covid which was not good for me. I truly thought that games would be here but there are no games here...aww, that sucked for my son!
The Arcade itself, architecturally speaking, is beautiful. Its a lovely old building with a lot of character. I personally havent stayed in any of the rooms so I cant speak on that, but I found.the businesses on the main floor rather lackluster. The only place I found myself wanting to go was the Chocolate Bar, which was great.
Really nice and fairy place to visit it’s has many shops and hotel Hyatt Regency. We went around Nov-2020. And seems like there was no shop or anything that’s open. even though, there was many shopping mall around too but all has a local shop and covid impact really hard so just enjoy kind of quiet city. Moreover, if you are photos fan than this place and many others good places are that good to visit and really ideal for click some really good photos. Other than that Cleveland is seems like really clam and friendly city. Sport is big here so if you are planning to go while so In-town game going city probably going to be filled-up.
Went on a Sunday so Im assuming we went at the worst time possible. We were told by a local that this was the place to go to shop with small businesses, but all of the store fronts were empty and vacant. Im assuming maybe covid had a hard impact here.Overall, the building is stunning and made for a nice short walk. Also, fun fact that its one of the first indoor shopping malls in America!
The hotel staff was very professional, courteous, and attentive! Very spacious and clean room with all the amenities. The historic-era motif adds a nice appeal to the restaurants and shops. Plus, you cant go wrong with the convenient access to the 4th Street shopping/entertainment district! I look forward to my next stay when Im back in Cleveland.
It was very pretty looking and historical! It is nice if you’re looking to see some history, but definitely not if you’re trying to eat or shop. When we walked in we weren’t even sure if it was open, and it turned out there were only two places open while we were there.
This is by far on of the finest designed malls that Ive had the pleasure to visit. From the lighting to the atmosphere it attracts and welcomes pleasentness and peace and a very memorable shopping experience. It also is a good place to do photography and to be photographed as other reviews have highlighted.
I can honestly say this is the best place Ive been in Cleveland. Its such a beautiful and incredible space, and Im glad it has been restored instead of being left to rot or torn down. Its worth noting that the Arcade is run as a hotel first and foremost, so you can expect that private events will be held here. (Who wouldnt want to have an event here?)
I had a wonderful overnight stay here in Cleveland. I was in town to see a show at the House of Blues and this was so close!!! Literally had to walk across the street to get to the show. This hotel was beautiful and all the employees were friendly. Everything was clean and up to standard. Breakfast at 1890 was great. Valet parking is 39 per night. I had foor and beers at pizza 216 which is also in the arcade. I highly suggest them. Highly suggest this property any time in Cleveland
I went 15min. Before closing never again cookies look like left overs but the bigger issues is location the arcade doors lock at 9pm how are you suppose to by cookies if you cant get in and security is terrible I told her were I was going she said building close I said not the shop she waisted 10min. Of my time.
Room prices were a bit steep for a hotel without a pool. My biggest issue with pricing is that you had to pay extra to the parking deck to park. Overnight rate was another $20. The rooms were nice and clean. The staff was really helpful. Beautiful view of the arcade from the room. You are walking distance to the stadium. The Jack casino is on the next block.
The Arcade is a beautiful shopping mall and dining experience. Covid has shut down several of the store fronts. But there are still many great experiences located in this gem. Just walking through the building gives you a wonderful feeling of nostalgia. The real hardwood doors, the guilded details, beautiful staircases, mail slots and more. Every detail reminds you of a time seemingly long gone these days. If you are in downtown Cleveland, this location is definitely worth a visit. Stop in for a great dining experience, buy some insurance, visit a chiropractor or get your nails done. The Christmas decorations were tasteful and also looked great at this time of the year.
We stayed in the hotel attached to The Arcade and were in awe when we walked in. The space is amazing. Open spaces, plenty of sunlight coming through the glass ceiling, and a nice shopping district located on the ground floor makes this building a true work of art.Check it out if you are in the area.
I can imagine how this building was tremendous when it was open at the picture in a store. But, now there are only few shops left so I stayed very shorthly. I understand how important this building meaning is in Cleveland and in America. But, as a visitor, it was not that attractive place to look around.
Ive always wanted to visit here and I should have prior to COVID-19. 4 stars only because it was practically empty and barely any shops were opened. It was a Friday so I dont know if the day makes a difference but this place was a ghost town. It gives me Titanic vibes and my friend yelled out Jack in her Rose voice :). I will visit again providing that the shops are up and running.
Beautiful hotel, great staff! I got stuck in the elevator, not a fan of elevators, hyper ventilated because my card deactivated! 20 minutes before another couple was getting on, so I got off on their floor. Wasnt happy with that on Saturday morning. Didnt leave my hotel room after that.
The Arcade was beautifully decorated for the holidays. A wedding reception was also about to begin. Glad we made it through before it was closed off to the public. Had hot chocolate and a delicious dessert at a nearby cafe. If youre sightseeing in the downtown Cleveland area, this building should be on your list of places to visit.
I remember this place from years past. It was a quaint place to visit with many unique, independently-owned shops. Now, its an unloved ghost town with empty shops full of disheveled junk. It hasnt been the same since that Euclid Corridor Revitalization. What a joke for every place downtown that wasnt Playhouse Square. They obviously blew their money on that and on digging up the street. Its all facade. Nice on the outside and sub-par inside.Back in the 90s and early 2000s, the management company of the arcade was someplace called Chartwell. I remember the signs. I dont know if they still run it, but if they do, they ought to be ashamed. So should the Hyatt and the city government. These arcades are a treasure and should be treated as such! Offer discounts and rebates to get businesses back in!
If you live in the greater Cleveland area, and appreciate architectural design, I highly suggest this one. The size alone is daunting, but when you look closely at the intricate details that absolutely overwhelm every square inch of the entire area, it becomes apparent that this building was a massive undertaking. A labor of love. Plenty of shops and fast food, very clean restrooms. A great place overall.
This arcade is inside Hyatt Regency in Cleveland downtown. When I entered into the arcade, the ambience was just wow.. it seemed that I had entered into some palace. So nicely decorated..There were few shops and restaurants..We went to Chocolate bar ..Must visit for atleast once ...
It is a classic old style building turned into a hotel. There are three restaurants in the building and a few other businesses as well. It is within ten minutes of the zoo, the Science Center, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Indians field, the Cavaliers stadium and the Browns field. It is across the street from the public library and anything you could need.
This hotel is beautiful--one feels as if they are on a large floating vessel a la the Titanic instead of a bustling metropolitan center . Historically preserved as it was in the 1890s, with convenient dining and shopping options such as boutiques, spas, and restaurants al in house. They even have a post office! Chocoholics must try The Chocolate Bar--pure decadence. The staff was helpful and friendly answering all of our tourist questions. They even give you a welcome mixed drink upon checking in. 10/10 would recommend. Well worth the money spent.
This is a great place to stay . It was a great return to the past for me and my wife. We had not been to the arcade for years at least 30. This is a place we went to as kids. Its has changed but it is still a beautiful sight. We enjoyed our time there. We stayed there for 2 nights in the hotel. We had a good meal at the 1890 lounge located in the arcade. Happy we choose this spot.
Wow, what an awesome place. A true piece of American Shopping Mall history. Somewhat empty today, just a few shops here and there, I suppose the big attraction is the hotel located in the upper floors (to which you otherwise have no access). Still, a great place to visit and to just enjoy the architecture of the building. Take in the true craftsmanship that went into making this place, yup, it is still visible today...now how many times can you say something even remotely similar about modern day shopping malls?
Pretty nice hotel and architecture. Noticed that all the gargoyles were not all the same.Several restaurants are right across the street. Valet parking is available. A quaint coffee shop is at the entrance of the hotel. The room was very nice and clean and a room key card will be needed to get beyond the lobby floor.Hope you enjoy your visit and please like if this review helps you decide.
While walking around downtown Cleveland, I ventured into The Arcade. What struck me most was the amazing historic architecture. What a beautiful building. There were several shops located inside, but many were closed after 5PM. However, I was able to enjoy Happy Hour at Pizza (216) which was amazing. Next time, Ill try the Chocolate Bar.
Nice place place. Beautiful layout. There are a bunch of shops and restaurants. Chocolate bar is my favorite. The place is clean and neat. Pretty affordable too. There used to be a Greek place not sure if its sill around. You can even bring food and eat at the tables. If you are in the area this a good spot to spend time and walk around a little bit. The shops are cute too. A lot of hand made stuff is sold in some of the stores.
You can hold any type of event here. Ive seen weddings and business holiday parties. The lights are something to take in. The business in here include a salon, hotel, restaurant and a few more. Peak in, youll like the piece of history and architecture you get to see. Enjoy!
Built in the late 1800s, this was the countrys first shopping mall. Its now home to the Hyatt Regency, which has turned it into a very unique hotel experience. Request an atrium room and youll be sure to experience the wonderful architecture! In contrast, the rooms are very modern with all the amenities that you would expect. I didnt like having to pay for bottled water in my room though. They were setting up for a wedding and what a wonderful venue this would be. In addition, its close to everything you want to do in downtown Cleveland. The highest rated coffee shop is right next door, too!
Stay at the Arcade Hyatt hotel is a amazing 100+ year hotel. The hotel is beautiful and in better shape than many 5 star Hotels. Restaurants and bars in the shopping area of the hotel are great. The access to 4th Street night life is unparalleled. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a short walk. Walk to train is easy to go to the airport. Train ride was a challenge because of having to switch to a shuttle bus for o portion of the ride. Way to go Ohio!
The restaurants here are superb. The hotel is fantastic. I love being inside the building especially when they light up the inside hall at night. Please do not pass the opportunity to go to Daydreams and Tea. Its central to access the city. It is a place I will forever enjoy returning to again and again.
The Arcade was very nice Beautiful people that work there nice all around area love it there we will be back to stay we thought we loved the fancy Hilton hotel until we stayed at the Arcade . The Arcade every thing is close we just love it there the 216 pizza place was very good cant say enough about the Arcade thanks for Everything!
Theres nothing there except a hotel and a pizza place. vacant shops all around. Both here and Tower City are ghost towns. Dont waste your time. Paid $14 to park for one hour just to find all this out. It would be nice if a big investor took an interest and brought it back to its glory, Its gorgeous!
This place is beautiful! However its like a ghost town...we specifically went to the coffee shop The Rising Star...highly recommended. And then poked around a bit imaging the place filled with a little bustling shops, neat boutiques and eateries showing off their local Cleveland goods! Maybe someone can see my vision and will have the wherewithal to make it happen! 🥳
We walked into the hotel and the first thing we see is garbage in the arcade. We go to check-in at 1:30 (which is early) and were told they would give us a upgraded room that was ready for an additional charge of $12 a night with a view of the arcade. We declined as the arcade is empty and almost everything is closed or abandoned. Later we checked in and got our bags from the car. The room is a decent size but there was a dried up contact on the floor and a pill case from previous people on the floor. There was a note saying clean me on the window which nobody saw i assume. The coffee pot was missing parts and we had to get a new one sent up. We used the gym during the evening and a security guard followed us in and went in a room where i assumed watched us the whole time (kinda creepy) The valet and other hotel members only acknowledged us 1 out of the 20 or so times we walked through the front door and that was when we had bags. The only place to eat was open from 7:30-10 am for dining in and than from 5-10 for room service which isnt a huge window. Overall i wouldnt recommend this location, it is in a building which is almost always empty and has very few stores that are ever open. I would stay somewhere with some options on dining and other activities.
This is a beautiful hotel, especially inside. The rooms are fairly spacious, though they are certainly not all the same size. Weve stayed here twice and our first room was very large with a spectacular view of downtown Cleveland, and the second was smaller with a nice view. These rooms are priced the same and we stayed in a king both times. Actually, the first time we came they gave us a dark and depressing room with (if Im remembering properly) a view of a brick wall. We we asked to move and paid a little extra for a city view. So its hard to know what youll get until you arrive. There is a giant TV, a closet with an ironing board and iron, comfortable bed and pillows and decent linens. The location is right downtown.Heres what I dont like: the trash cans are tiny, our refrigerator was leaking water inside, theres no microwave, the cleaning was sub par this second time, with dust on the handles of the drawers and on the Kleenex box and the water pressure in the shower is pretty weak. But the rooms are solid and quiet, the staff is friendly and responsive, its very pretty, there are stores and restaurants in the arcade and there are some great restaurants within walking distance. I highly recommend Tasa if you like middle eastern food. Also, youll pay for parking. The lot next door is $40 a day with fees for leaving and coming back. They do have a valet service for $39... I imagine the costs are pretty similar if you factor in the tips, though we havent tried it. It looks pretty convenient. Make sure to factor parking into your per night charges.Well definitely stay here again.
There are a few nice shops here but the Arcade itself could use a little help. There arent any places to sit, the bathrooms arent available to the public, and there are a lot of fruit flies. I recommend going in to just hit the shops and then get back out into the city.
The inside was really nice looking, but otherwise a pretty pointless building. We came here twice this past weekend. Once it was closed due to a private event (graduation or prom I guess) and the other time it was open but none of the 2 businesses inside were open. (Theres more than 2 businesses in there, but its like a state farm office, and then some small food shops)
Dinner was delish! I had as an appetizer the Caesar salad and for the main course Filet Mignon and sweet potato fries# Yum😋 I want some more! Great food! Great service! Great company I was in. Wonderful ambiance! I had not been there for years. It is just as I remembered it. Awesome place to be in Downtown Cleveland, Ohio!
The staff was amazing. The services offered were outstanding. I woke up with morning sickness one morning and the front desk sent room service to me with hot tea and crackers without my asking. The price was definitely unbeatable for all the luxuries of being downtown and access to so many attractions. We will absolutely stay here again when we come into town.
I was very disappointed with this facility. Our room was musty. The towels were scratchy/rough. Asked for room service, which they advertised, was not available had to pickup my own food. The cost I paid doesnt match the service I received. The housekeeping staff was pathetic. Find some other place if youre in that vity.
This building is absolutely gorgeous! This would be a fantastic location to have an event, whether that be a fundraiser, a birthday party, a wedding, a retirement party etc. The hotel is gorgeous and is has so many shops near by as well as great restaurants. (The Chocolate Bar, The Corner Alley, Cleveland Clothing Co., The House of Blues, a BBQ place etc. We loved walking through and seeing the amazing structure!
This is a very nice shopping area conveniently located in downtown Cleveland. This building has very nice architecture, and you can experience the buildings large glass roof, which lets natural sunlight flood the building. This building is also home to a Hyatt Hotel, which is quite nice. When I went here, the shopping area was closed off due to a wedding being there, so I cant comment on the matter of the stores in the building.
Absolutely beautiful place, but the only restaurants opened was the pizza place and the chocolate bar. All the businesses in there looked closed or empty and the only place to visit was the spa. Really wish there were more shops opened. We stayed Saturday night into Sunday it was a shame for a beautiful place that it was pretty much empty.

2022-06-08Such an amazing, incredible place. The main Arcade is a little deserted, not a lot of open shops. However, theres a USPS location located on the ground floor. But the Arcade on Fifth/Sixth is filled with cute little shops. Come here and be in awe of all the history and stories this place has. Word is, even Thomas Edison once owned a shop in the Arcade.

2021-12-28Very classy and upscale hotel and indoor shopping venue. When we went there there was someone planning a wedding there so that my be something they do there as well. Looks like a older elegant train station feel to it.

2022-05-08My daughter and I stayed in a room at The Arcade. When we walked into the main area we were in awe. So beautiful. Our room was very nice. It was a bit more modern than what the lobby/arcade area looks like. There was a wedding party getting photos in the main area so we weren’t able to walk around too much. If you are ever in downtown Cleveland you need to just walk through this area. It is truly stunning.

2021-11-15Beautiful hotel downtown Cleveland. Convenient for any sporting event or concert. Just a few blocks away from the rock and roll hall of fame.A wedding was going on while we were checking in, looked really nice.Beds comfortable, nice shower and bathroom.**** parking is $40 a day valet only. You really just have to park in the street in front of the hotel the have the valet come to you.

2022-01-17Very cool example of late 19th century Victorian architecture and one of the first indoor shopping centers. Beautifully restored and listed on the national register of historic places

2022-02-21The hotel here was amazing. Room overlooked the Arcade and there was a wedding going on. Only negatives are that parking is expensive and the parking garage is not connected to the Arcade. Also any noise at all from people walking through the arcade echoes so loud in the rooms. A family with little kids walked through at like 6am loud as can be and woke me up.

2022-05-25Beautiful architecture! Not many stores open when we visited on a Monday. Really cool to take photographs though.

2021-12-11I have always wanted to spend a night in the Arcade (a Hyatt Regency Hotel) and it was very nice. The rooms have been updated nicely; beds are very comfortable, bathrooms are well appointed including make-up mirror and hair dryers and the room also has a small refrigerator and pod coffee machine. The 1899 Restaurant is very nice too, food selection is adequate but very good. We ate at the bar because the restaurant was rented out for a private party.

2022-06-06Went in to see what the place was...its a hotel and venue with amazing structural details. Great place for a stay or event... beautiful.
